- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, Welcome, welcome, welcome, the
- 0:03Speaker 1: bright sunshiny turnsday.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And you know what that means.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's time for Car Talk with Brad Duness with Dungeons Toyota.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Good morning, Brad, Good morning Tom. It is a beautiful
- 0:13Speaker 2: day out.
- 0:13Speaker 1: There today, the the as you have said before, the
- 0:16Speaker 1: sun glistening off the new cars.
- 0:18Speaker 2: And I need my foster grain.
- 0:21Speaker 1: You got some sunglasses here there you go, my my pupils.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I just well, that's uh, we're we had this brainstorm
- 0:30Speaker 1: this week. We're thinking about changing the name of the
- 0:32Speaker 1: show from Car Talk to something else, maybe Welcome Home.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Oh wait cool and not like that, maybe a little better.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I I just I mean car Talk is kind of
- 0:45Speaker 1: was a thing at one point, right.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I don't think they're a thing anymore, so you don't
- 0:51Speaker 2: care that much.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But but it is we talk about cars a little bit,
- 0:55Speaker 1: b little bit.
- 0:56Speaker 2: A little bet uh you know, I thought takes you
- 0:58Speaker 2: from home to home.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Maybe get get a little bit more uh more personal.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I like it's because it's really not about cars so
- 1:06Speaker 1: much is Bartlesville and what's going around on around Bartlesville community.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And we've got I have some friends from Young Professionals
- 1:14Speaker 1: here today Amanda French and Sarah Glenn.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Welcome, thank you for coming. There's I've you guys have
- 1:21Speaker 2: been on.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I haven't had you guys on the show, but I've
- 1:25Speaker 1: had the Young Professionals many times as for different events,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and it's always fun to catch up and hear what's
- 1:30Speaker 1: going on with the YP because there is.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Always stuff going on.
- 1:34Speaker 1: You guys are very active in our community and I
- 1:38Speaker 1: think it's a great organization and and love to get
- 1:42Speaker 1: it to hear what you have happening. And I know
- 1:45Speaker 1: you guys are involved in the Wall and helping with
- 1:48Speaker 1: that this weekend, I guess, And so let's start there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: What's what is happening sure with the wall? And what
- 1:57Speaker 2: is the wall?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Well, the Wall that heels is a wall that they
- 2:02Speaker 3: the Veterans Network at Phillip sixty six has organized to
- 2:06Speaker 3: bring into town. So we are just helping fill some
- 2:10Speaker 3: of their volunteer slots with it. But if you've if
- 2:16Speaker 3: you've ever gone to like DC or any of those
- 2:19Speaker 3: other places, it's the Vietnam War veterans listed on the
- 2:23Speaker 3: wall and it's out there for it's at Lee Lake.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Anyone can go out there and look at it, see
- 2:29Speaker 3: what it's got going on. There were volunteer slots because
- 2:33Speaker 3: it requires twenty four to seven support to keep the
- 2:38Speaker 3: ball here in Bartlesville all the way from Tuesday to
- 2:41Speaker 3: when the wall comes down on Sunday, and so people
- 2:46Speaker 3: can go out and just look at it. But it
- 2:48Speaker 3: does require and there are four hour volunteer slots if
- 2:52Speaker 3: you can go in any four hour.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So a lot of the community is coming together. But
- 2:58Speaker 3: it was so unique that Bartlesville got chosen. And those
- 3:01Speaker 3: are the things that why he likes to highlight, right,
- 3:04Speaker 3: like what makes our community unique. That's where we want
- 3:08Speaker 3: to show up and that's where we want to have a.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Price do a great job of that.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And I know you're volunteering and across all around the
- 3:15Speaker 1: community all yeah, every month, it seems like and and
- 3:19Speaker 1: but this one with Memorial Day coming up, is a
- 3:22Speaker 1: great opportunity for people out there and recognize the veterans
- 3:27Speaker 1: that we've lost.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And you know, it is a.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Special opportunity, absolutely, and they still need help on Sunday.
- 3:35Speaker 3: So if anybody wants to come out on Sunday to
- 3:37Speaker 3: help tear the wall down, it is Mother's Day, but
- 3:41Speaker 3: bring your mom.
- 3:42Speaker 2: With how they what do they do? If they how
- 3:46Speaker 2: do they sign up for that?
- 3:47Speaker 3: As you can? You can, Yeah, you can go to
- 3:50Speaker 3: our Facebook or there is a website for it. I
- 3:55Speaker 3: believe it's the Wall that Heals dot org. But you
- 3:58Speaker 3: could go to our Facebook and find it for and we.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Have a data our website too at partial Radio dot
- 4:02Speaker 1: com and twenty four to seven.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So this is a major project tech and dozens of people.
- 4:09Speaker 1: That man it for thousands thousands okay, yeah, And of
- 4:15Speaker 1: course that's not all that's going on YP. It's got
- 4:18Speaker 1: events every it seems like all the time. But you know,
- 4:21Speaker 1: tell us about what else yp's got coming up.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, So we we have kind of a multifaceted mission statement, live,
- 4:29Speaker 3: work and play in Bartlesville. So every month we try
- 4:32Speaker 3: and do an event around living here, working here, playing here,
- 4:36Speaker 3: and so the playing here is our socials. So on
- 4:43Speaker 3: May fourteenth, we actually have two opportunities. Usually we only
- 4:48Speaker 3: have one, but at nine am at Outposts, we will
- 4:53Speaker 3: have a coffee social. YP pays for your first coffee
- 4:57Speaker 3: to come and just network and meet other young profession
- 5:00Speaker 3: in the community. But we do know that there are
- 5:02Speaker 3: those jobs that you can't get away at nine am.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Maybe you work the night shift and you're trying to
- 5:07Speaker 3: go to sleep at that time. So we're also offering
- 5:10Speaker 3: this month a happy hour at Cooper and Mill from
- 5:13Speaker 3: five to seven. Also on the fourteenth, same thing. First
- 5:18Speaker 3: Drink is on us. Come network with other people, get
- 5:21Speaker 3: to hear what other people your age are doing in
- 5:24Speaker 3: the community, or hear about what opportunities are out there.
- 5:28Speaker 3: We've been able to yeah, other events, we've been able
- 5:32Speaker 3: to network people and get new jobs and get new
- 5:37Speaker 3: board positions secured and all of those things. But it
- 5:39Speaker 3: takes you showing up, right, that's the big pation first.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Step, right, Yeah, that's the cool thing about YP. It
- 5:46Speaker 1: is just about networking and building relationships, building community, supporting
- 5:51Speaker 1: the community, and kind of making those introductions.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So if you're new to town, it's a great way
- 5:57Speaker 2: to get to.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Know people and then to get in different different organizations,
- 6:02Speaker 1: learn more about the community. We really get to experience
- 6:06Speaker 1: all the different things because you do you guys work
- 6:09Speaker 1: with nonprofits throughout the year, different organizations and I know,
- 6:14Speaker 1: do things like a softball tournament I heard.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So we just wrapped up our Emerging Stars where
- 6:22Speaker 3: YP gave three thousand dollars back to the community. So
- 6:26Speaker 3: each winner got to designate a charity of their choice
- 6:28Speaker 3: and we wrote the check for them. But coming up
- 6:31Speaker 3: on August eighth, we have a softball tournament. This will
- 6:35Speaker 3: be the second one we've done, and so we are
- 6:39Speaker 3: going to be looking for sponsors. We have sponsorship levels
- 6:42Speaker 3: two fifty to one thousand dollars, and we're also looking
- 6:47Speaker 3: for teams that want to play again. We've done this
- 6:49Speaker 3: a variety of different ways, where like a company can
- 6:53Speaker 3: sign up and play company versus company. We actually had
- 6:56Speaker 3: a good bit of people that just secured their own
- 7:00Speaker 3: friends and signed up as a team, and then we
- 7:03Speaker 3: tried the concept of a sandlot team last year. We're like, hey,
- 7:06Speaker 3: I'm new to town, I don't know anyone still want
- 7:08Speaker 3: to play. So we'll look at doing that again this
- 7:11Speaker 3: year if there's enough interest.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Okay, So, and how do they find out about that?
- 7:16Speaker 2: I guess on your on our Facebook page.
- 7:18Speaker 3: And that's another one where the top three teams yp
- 7:21Speaker 3: cuts a check to the cheerity.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I want to say this is a fundraiser in a way,
- 7:25Speaker 2: it is.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be a fundraise.
- 7:27Speaker 1: You give the money back out and that's how a
- 7:30Speaker 1: lot of your events are are really built around raising
- 7:33Speaker 1: some money but then putting it back out in the
- 7:37Speaker 1: community in one form or another. Yep.
- 7:39Speaker 3: We try to raise just enough to cover our coffees
- 7:42Speaker 3: and our drinks, and we give the rest back.
- 7:45Speaker 1: We used to be big sponsors of the Hot Street Party. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 1: that was a fun time, lots of fun.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it should be a sponsor to the Blue Gallon
- 7:53Speaker 2: next year.
- 7:56Speaker 1: We love those kinds of events that get people out
- 7:58Speaker 1: and have a lot of fun. And I remember a
- 8:02Speaker 1: few of those back back in the day. The truck
- 8:05Speaker 1: drop uh street party. You guys, probably that probably may
- 8:09Speaker 1: predate you. You were probably not young professionals at.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That point, but.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yeah, some people out there listening will remember the truck Drop.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Go YouTube dungeus truck Drop and.
- 8:21Speaker 1: You'll you'll see it was one of the largest attended
- 8:24Speaker 1: street parties in Bartlesville. There was a there was a
- 8:29Speaker 1: rumor that they were going to drop a truck off
- 8:31Speaker 1: the price tower, and the marketing guy at the dealership
- 8:39Speaker 1: put a kind of created the room, I think, and
- 8:43Speaker 1: then the newspaper, back when we had real newspapers, ran
- 8:50Speaker 1: with it and put a front page story on it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: And so we had to go talk to the editor
- 8:54Speaker 1: and say, look, we don't this would not.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Be a good idea.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Actually yeah, and uh but by then it kind of
- 9:02Speaker 1: had a life of its own, and so we we
- 9:04Speaker 1: came up with, uh, you know, we kind of came
- 9:06Speaker 1: up with we kind of decided, well, we may as
- 9:10Speaker 1: well lean into it, and we fed the fire a
- 9:12Speaker 1: little bit, and uh, you know, eventually, uh, we dropped
- 9:16Speaker 1: a banner off the Price Tower that said we dropped
- 9:19Speaker 1: the price of the truck, and we put we put
- 9:22Speaker 1: a few dollars in balloons and.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Dropped them so people could can fight.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Over that, and gave away t shirts that I still
- 9:30Speaker 1: have that they're a collector's item for sure. That had
- 9:34Speaker 1: a quote of Franklin right that said, the truth is
- 9:38Speaker 1: more important than the facts.
- 9:41Speaker 2: So think about that.
- 9:42Speaker 1: You know. Anyway, I'm a little afraid of what I've
- 9:45Speaker 1: done here to bring that back up witness.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I thought trucks could fly.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But there were there were a couple thousand people at
- 9:54Speaker 1: the base of the Price Tower, and it was right
- 9:57Speaker 1: before the street party.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So it was a very well attended street party.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I bet you'll have an email.
- 10:04Speaker 2: There were some people were not very happy with me,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I would say for that, but it shows I'm afraid.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm not afraid kind of.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's one of the things you have to be in
- 10:20Speaker 1: the car business these days. Only in any business, I guess.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But we were on just a little bit of car
- 10:28Speaker 2: business stuff. We're on to May.
- 10:29Speaker 1: We've got our new incentives out, new inventory just got released.
- 10:33Speaker 2: We got some really.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Cool vehicles, and we get two allocations a month with
- 10:38Speaker 1: Toyota and and with our Toyota continues to sell more cars,
- 10:45Speaker 1: lead the nation in sales. But I really have low inventories,
- 10:49Speaker 1: which is kind of a conundrum. But we were selling
- 10:53Speaker 1: seventy eighty percent of what we have available every month,
- 10:56Speaker 1: which just leads a few vehicles on the ground at
- 10:58Speaker 1: any one time. I think this morning, there's maybe eighteen
- 11:03Speaker 1: or so on the ground. We'll probably sell thirty or
- 11:06Speaker 1: so vehicles. So it's a it's one of these very
- 11:09Speaker 1: fast paced things, and I have to remind people of that.
- 11:13Speaker 1: You know, the old days of coming in and kicking
- 11:15Speaker 1: the tires has changed a little bit.
- 11:19Speaker 2: But the you know, we do.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Have a great selection of vehicles coming and on the
- 11:24Speaker 1: and on the ground, great selection to Tacoma's Cameras Tundra.
- 11:29Speaker 2: We've got a land cruiser you can come look at.
- 11:33Speaker 1: We bought one to be a company vehicle that could
- 11:36Speaker 1: be so people could experience it, and then we use
- 11:40Speaker 1: that to try to sell the incoming ones, because the
- 11:44Speaker 1: way it works is once you sell it, they think
- 11:46Speaker 1: consitu another one, so it's important not to have them
- 11:49Speaker 1: sit on the ground. We've got another special vehicle got
- 11:57Speaker 1: alk was a Tacoma TRG Pro, so very nice vehicle.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And another Sequaia Capstone.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So if you're interested in something like that, reach out
- 12:07Speaker 1: to our team. We do have some really interesting used
- 12:12Speaker 1: cars right now too.
- 12:14Speaker 2: They turned in a lot.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Of ways just as fast as those new vehicles that
- 12:19Speaker 1: we've got lately.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Some really great used cars.
- 12:23Speaker 1: We've got Alexis g X four sixty at twenty three,
- 12:27Speaker 1: great higher end luxury SUV twenty eighteen Tacoma several used
- 12:34Speaker 1: Tacoma's that's.
- 12:36Speaker 2: A limited model, so one of the higher term levels.
- 12:38Speaker 1: We've got to use Tacoma TRD Pro that's a twenty seventeen.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It is a six speed manual, but some people look
- 12:47Speaker 1: for those, and especially in the TRD Pro series, that's
- 12:51Speaker 1: a very desirable vehicle. And then a twenty three Tacoma
- 12:54Speaker 1: TRD Sport which is a little later model, so great
- 12:58Speaker 1: selection to use Tacomas. We had somebody also traded in
- 13:03Speaker 1: a twenty three Lexus ES three fifty Ultra Luxury, so
- 13:08Speaker 1: one of the top Lexus sedans and the Ultra Luckcue package.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Really nice car as every.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Option you could ask for, just a few years old,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and you can save.
- 13:20Speaker 2: A lot of money on that off a new one.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I've got less than fifty thousand miles on a really
- 13:26Speaker 1: beautiful car owned by a local gentleman. Here on the
- 13:30Speaker 1: other end of the spectrum, we've got some great lower
- 13:33Speaker 1: price vehicles twenty nineteen Jeep Cherokee for just twelve thousand,
- 13:39Speaker 1: seven hundred, twenty eighteen Ford Expedition for just twelve five,
- 13:46Speaker 1: Honda CRB twenty nineteen for twelve two sixty five, and
- 13:51Speaker 1: a twenty one Honda Insight for thirteen six fifty, So
- 13:55Speaker 1: great value.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Vehicles and you know the full sol.
- 14:00Speaker 1: So be sure to check all that out on our
- 14:02Speaker 1: website or come in and talk to the to the team,
- 14:05Speaker 1: or you know.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Our our specialty is helping you buy a car.
- 14:09Speaker 1: We have a non commissioned sales team so they're not
- 14:13Speaker 1: going to push you into something that makes them more
- 14:16Speaker 1: money or anything. They're just there to help you and
- 14:18Speaker 1: serve the community. Uh and uh. You know, so our
- 14:22Speaker 1: sales representatives as well as the managers are paid differently
- 14:26Speaker 1: than most other dealerships, and we don't charge a dock
- 14:28Speaker 1: fee or do any of the dealer add ons.
- 14:32Speaker 2: We continue to see those proliferate.
- 14:36Speaker 1: In the industry where they'll say, if you know that
- 14:38Speaker 1: the car is this, but then we're going to add,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, like a protection package or some kind of
- 14:45Speaker 1: other stuff to it. And some of that might be
- 14:47Speaker 1: stuff you want. A lot of times it'll come with
- 14:49Speaker 1: window tent and cup holder protectors and paint and fabric
- 14:53Speaker 1: protection and stuff. But that should be your choice, I think,
- 14:57Speaker 1: rather than just packaging it up.
- 14:59Speaker 2: And then the doc fee is something that you know,
- 15:02Speaker 2: dealers can charge.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It does cost money to process the paperwork on a
- 15:05Speaker 1: car deal.
- 15:07Speaker 2: But you know, we.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Historic we did have one previously and it was not
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know, we didn't charge very much. And then we
- 15:14Speaker 1: kept seeing other dealers just keep adding to that and
- 15:17Speaker 1: a lot of them now are are six to eight
- 15:19Speaker 1: hundred dollars, and and we thought, well, let's just go
- 15:23Speaker 1: the other way and eliminate it all together and just
- 15:28Speaker 1: continues to differentiate us from our competition.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And that's what we really want to do. Make you
- 15:35Speaker 2: you know, we're almost one.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Hundred year old, family owned business and focused on the community.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Just you know, we just have a dealership here in Bartlesville.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That's all we do is or and at this point
- 15:47Speaker 1: just the Toyota Brandt. So really proud of that and
- 15:52Speaker 1: love to have people like the young professionals around Bartlesville
- 15:57Speaker 1: because it just makes our community richer.
- 15:59Speaker 2: We feel like you guys are I love.
- 16:02Speaker 1: How you you involve people in the community. You know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I guess you guys are a kind of an offshoot
- 16:09Speaker 1: of the chamber if I remember correctly, how.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Does that work?
- 16:14Speaker 3: So we're a branch under the Chamber, which means ultimately
- 16:17Speaker 3: we are guided by the same things they are. So
- 16:21Speaker 3: we are not a five oh one C three, We're
- 16:22Speaker 3: a five oh one C six. That's some fancy terminology
- 16:27Speaker 3: for how you file your taxes and stuff. But again,
- 16:32Speaker 3: we try to keep our uh, everything that we earn,
- 16:37Speaker 3: we're trying to put it back into the community in
- 16:39Speaker 3: a better way. So we do that through a variety
- 16:43Speaker 3: of our different things where we want people to get
- 16:45Speaker 3: involved in the community because people who are active members
- 16:48Speaker 3: of their community tend to stay. So it's a good
- 16:51Speaker 3: retention tool for Bartlesville. So we try to provide the
- 16:55Speaker 3: events that are going to keep young professionals coming out
- 16:58Speaker 3: getting engaged so that they can open small businesses, so
- 17:03Speaker 3: that they can join boards and get on nonprofits and
- 17:06Speaker 3: just find a deeper connection.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's really important and part of so because
- 17:12Speaker 1: we have a lot of people come come to town
- 17:15Speaker 1: for a job and we work at one of the
- 17:17Speaker 1: large corporations downtown, and it gives them an opportunity to
- 17:21Speaker 1: really get roots in the community and get involved.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And you're as you mentioned all the volunteer opportunities and
- 17:30Speaker 1: your volunteer driven you know, your leadership and you don't
- 17:34Speaker 1: have it. Do you have any staff.
- 17:36Speaker 3: At all or we don't. We are all volunteers, so
- 17:41Speaker 3: we we Yeah, we don't have a single paid board
- 17:45Speaker 3: position or committee position or anything like that. We we
- 17:50Speaker 3: volunteer our time to put on the events and then
- 17:53Speaker 3: we ask for volunteers along the way to help keep
- 17:55Speaker 3: things going. Because these events are great, but they're only
- 17:59Speaker 3: great if we bring people out to make them and
- 18:01Speaker 3: have them live up to their whole potential.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Right, And it's something like this. It's always changing with
- 18:08Speaker 1: getting new people and new leadership, so it keeping it
- 18:11Speaker 1: going is Yeah. Probably one of the most important things
- 18:15Speaker 1: is just keeping that new people coming in and getting
- 18:18Speaker 1: involved so that you have people to.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Kind of replace the people that are that are moving on.
- 18:25Speaker 3: But our three big events a year, which are the
- 18:28Speaker 3: Blue Gala, the Softball Committee, and Christmas Crawl. We've started
- 18:32Speaker 3: doing committees for those for people who are interested to
- 18:35Speaker 3: be on the Young Professionals Board. They can join and
- 18:39Speaker 3: they can show their dedication, their planning, their organization skills.
- 18:44Speaker 3: They might bring some specific skill set to the table.
- 18:47Speaker 3: And we look at those committees when we're looking for
- 18:49Speaker 3: new board members.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Okay, and it's Young Professionals, but is there any age
- 18:55Speaker 1: requirement or anything.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And how does that look?
- 18:57Speaker 3: So it's pretty soft. We do say twenty one to
- 19:01Speaker 3: young at heart because we do offer things like happy hours,
- 19:05Speaker 3: which you need to be twenty one to attends, right, Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 2: So I'm beer with us.
- 19:14Speaker 3: We do not cap on who can attend or and
- 19:16Speaker 3: we will never ask anyone to leave. We also have
- 19:19Speaker 3: had a variety of people who because we're young, childcare
- 19:23Speaker 3: can be challenging at times, and we don't ever want
- 19:26Speaker 3: childcare to be a reason someone is not getting involved
- 19:30Speaker 3: in the community. We're networking, so we do say if
- 19:33Speaker 3: you need to bring your children, you can.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I brought my own kid to multiple.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Events, yes, And how many people are involved, how many
- 19:41Speaker 1: young professionals are there?
- 19:43Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:43Speaker 4: So we have a board right now of six nine
- 19:47Speaker 4: nine nine nine, sorry guys, a board of nine. And
- 19:51Speaker 4: then we have a list of corporate members for us,
- 19:55Speaker 4: and then we have a list of associate members and
- 19:57Speaker 4: right now our associate membership is sitting at about fifty
- 20:00Speaker 4: team and those are just members of this community that
- 20:03Speaker 4: feel very passionate about YP and support us with an
- 20:06Speaker 4: annual membership and that's grown in the last two years.
- 20:09Speaker 4: We're very proud of it. And then in regards to
- 20:13Speaker 4: YP community members, those that attend, we have a list
- 20:16Speaker 4: of a couple of hundred, and then those who are
- 20:19Speaker 4: very involved and we see them at every coffee event,
- 20:22Speaker 4: every volunteer event.
- 20:24Speaker 2: To be a community so it's just yeah, to show
- 20:27Speaker 2: up exactly what you put. What you put in is
- 20:30Speaker 2: what you get.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, we do have a sign up form to become
- 20:33Speaker 3: a member and that so you receive a monthly newsletter
- 20:36Speaker 3: so you know about all of the things YPE has upcoming.
- 20:39Speaker 3: And so there's no requirement. Again, Sarah mentioned our associate
- 20:43Speaker 3: membership that's only one hundred dollars a year, and we
- 20:45Speaker 3: have a lot of people who age themselves out of
- 20:48Speaker 3: YP that say, we love what you're doing. Here's one
- 20:50Speaker 3: hundred dollars, but I can't make the events or or
- 20:53Speaker 3: don't want to or whatever, but just kind of the
- 20:57Speaker 3: we love what you're doing, keep going kind of mentality there.
- 21:01Speaker 3: But we're we're seeing growth across all of our events.
- 21:04Speaker 3: So our coffees, there's probably about thirty people who regularly
- 21:09Speaker 3: are coming to coffees, So we take over outpost on
- 21:13Speaker 3: that second Thursday of every month. I'm yes and that
- 21:20Speaker 3: right now.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 3: And then our big events we sold out our Blue Gala,
- 21:25Speaker 3: which is two hundred and sixty four and softball is
- 21:29Speaker 3: kind of unlimited because it's an outdoor thing. We need spectators,
- 21:32Speaker 3: we need players, we need sponsor you know. So, and
- 21:36Speaker 3: then Christmas Prawl we had have one hundred and twenty
- 21:38Speaker 3: five attend which we pick five small businesses and we
- 21:42Speaker 3: and we crawl through downtown going to them. So that
- 21:45Speaker 3: brought a lot of support to our local community.
- 21:49Speaker 1: What a great story, and thank you for everything you
- 21:51Speaker 1: do in our community.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I think that's great.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It's so great to hear your stories and thank you
- 21:57Speaker 1: again for what you do here. You know what, how
- 22:01Speaker 1: did you guys end up in Barstow? Are you guys
- 22:03Speaker 1: from around here or did you come?
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm one of those big downtown corporate transplants.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I joined Phillip sixty six eleven years ago, and then
- 22:15Speaker 3: I left and went to Houston and I came back.
- 22:17Speaker 3: When I left, I had no kids. When I came back,
- 22:19Speaker 3: I had a couple of kids. So what I was
- 22:22Speaker 3: looking for was very different when I came back the
- 22:25Speaker 3: second time, and I just wanted to be a part
- 22:27Speaker 3: of the community where I was going to be raising children.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I am married into Native Portions from here. They own
- 22:35Speaker 4: a small business that they've grown for fifty three years,
- 22:38Speaker 4: so very big, very big into the community and our involvement.
- 22:43Speaker 4: And so then I joined the company four years ago
- 22:46Speaker 4: and I was like, Hey, it's time to get involved.
- 22:48Speaker 4: And I actually my first group was YPE and from
- 22:50Speaker 4: there I just networked very well and joined a couple
- 22:54Speaker 4: of other boards. But because of YP that fire that started,
- 22:57Speaker 4: like we've given back into the community and it's just
- 23:01Speaker 4: a very great involvement.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Well, thank you for sharing that. I thought it might
- 23:04Speaker 1: get people an example that.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It really works here, because it is amazing.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I went to one coffee chat and I joined the board.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I kind of I've heard that's kind of how it works.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It was really sucked up into it and there you go.
- 23:19Speaker 1: You're off and you're joining in other organizations, being serving
- 23:22Speaker 1: on boards, and.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It really does work. It does.
- 23:27Speaker 3: It's a great launching pad for anyone who's looking to
- 23:29Speaker 3: get interested. We don't require board experience to join, but
- 23:35Speaker 3: that's why we ask that you look at one of
- 23:36Speaker 3: our committees so we can see what are your what
- 23:38Speaker 3: your work ethic is like. But a lot of people
- 23:41Speaker 3: do take one stint with young professionals and then they're
- 23:44Speaker 3: off to the races on other boards.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen.
- 23:48Speaker 1: That worked on boards that had RIP people on it,
- 23:51Speaker 1: and it's again, thank you for what you do and
- 23:54Speaker 1: excited to hear about what happens next time you're on.
- 23:58Speaker 1: But I guess go ahead and tell them about the
- 24:01Speaker 1: upcoming events again in case they want to come to
- 24:03Speaker 1: the next coffee and social.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so just upcoming, we have Sunday, the wall that
- 24:09Speaker 3: heals if you want to show up, even if you
- 24:13Speaker 3: can't find the sign up, just show up. They will
- 24:15Speaker 3: not turn you away. And then we have this Saturday,
- 24:19Speaker 3: the Good, the Bad, the barbecue volunteer opportunities. There were
- 24:22Speaker 3: a couple slots left, so make sure you find that
- 24:25Speaker 3: sign up. We have the socials, the coffee on the fourteenth,
- 24:31Speaker 3: and the happy hour on the fourteenth, and then we
- 24:34Speaker 3: have softball coming August eighth. So primarily at this point,
- 24:38Speaker 3: if you would like to be on the committee to
- 24:40Speaker 3: plan the event, reach out to yp Bartlesville at gmail
- 24:43Speaker 3: dot com.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Or if you're.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Already wanting to secure your sponsorship and you don't want
- 24:48Speaker 3: to wait for us to come to you, you can
- 24:50Speaker 3: always reach out and we will definitely get you a
- 24:54Speaker 3: sponsorship lined.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Up of course, And of course the coffees and socials
- 24:59Speaker 1: happen every month basically, right, so the look on your
- 25:02Speaker 1: Facebook page and you find out when that's.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Going to happen.
- 25:05Speaker 3: And the second Thursday of every month, nine am outpost
- 25:09Speaker 3: nine am at out Loud. We make it easy so
- 25:11Speaker 3: you don't you don't even have to.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Think about it.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Don't even think about it, just go show up. Well,
- 25:16Speaker 1: thank you Amanda and Sarah. I appreciate your time and
- 25:19Speaker 1: good for a great show. And thank you to all
- 25:21Speaker 1: our listeners out there.
- 25:22Speaker 2: We appreciate you.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And there is a lot going on this Mother's Day
- 25:26Speaker 1: weekend in Barzil. You mentioned a couple of the things,
- 25:29Speaker 1: and I know there's even more with the chamber stuff
- 25:32Speaker 1: this evening, and and a lot of a lot of
- 25:35Speaker 1: always busy time in barsol Bit. But this springtime is
- 25:40Speaker 1: the best fun. We've got great weather right now and
- 25:43Speaker 1: we haven't had to do our our hail dance in
- 25:46Speaker 1: the last week or so, and that's good. That's fingers
- 25:51Speaker 1: crossed for tomorrow night, but it should be. It's a
- 25:55Speaker 1: little I think hopefully it's just rain.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that hailed stuff and all like that. I'm over it,
- 26:03Speaker 2: you're over it, over it all right.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Well, come see us at the dealership if you have
- 26:08Speaker 1: any needs in your car business.
- 26:10Speaker 2: We've got, as I said, a great selection.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Of new and used vehicles that you can check out
- 26:15Speaker 1: online and you can go and get our upfront pricing
- 26:19Speaker 1: right there on the website without any You don't have
- 26:23Speaker 1: to give your name and contact information to start the process.
- 26:26Speaker 1: You can go in and kind of calculate your own payment,
- 26:31Speaker 1: estimate your credit situation. If you want to get the
- 26:34Speaker 1: actual information, submit a credit application. There, you can do
- 26:38Speaker 1: a trade valuation play, you know, see real, real examples
- 26:43Speaker 1: of real payments based on the price of the vehicle
- 26:46Speaker 1: and your situation, your trade. Compare it to lease, see
- 26:50Speaker 1: all the incentives that are out there. It's a great
- 26:52Speaker 1: way to start the process and get comfortable, even if
- 26:57Speaker 1: you're before you come in. And that's the same tool
- 27:01Speaker 1: that's on the website that we use in the dealership
- 27:04Speaker 1: to calculate everything.
- 27:05Speaker 2: So it's it's really a great system. So check that out.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Is it okay?
- 27:10Speaker 1: If somebody comes in and buys a fleet a fleet, yeah, yeah,
- 27:14Speaker 1: you do not. It might take us. It depends on
- 27:19Speaker 1: how many you won in your fleet. You might take
- 27:21Speaker 1: us a minute to collect them up. I think I've
- 27:24Speaker 1: got a good Tacoma fleet right now. Look at that,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and i think four hundreds and a couple of cameras
- 27:34Speaker 1: and some highlanders and Grand Highlanders, and we got our
- 27:39Speaker 1: first CHR and this is a brand new model. It's
- 27:43Speaker 1: a it's our second battery electric vehicle, a little smaller
- 27:48Speaker 1: than the BZU. Still still making battery electric vehicles and
- 27:53Speaker 1: actually expanding their offerings there. Uh so they come check
- 27:58Speaker 1: that out with the it's a gas where it is.
- 28:00Speaker 1: We've had a lot of people interested in hybrids and
- 28:03Speaker 1: exploring the battery electric vehicles.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Very good. I like the way they call the electric
- 28:08Speaker 2: vehicle the BEZ.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that one's been pretty popular.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I bet it has. Where can we find you.
- 28:15Speaker 1: We're on the website at does DUNGEUS Choice dot com
- 28:19Speaker 1: or Dungeustoyota dot com, or you can come out to
