- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: What's going on over here?
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: I've got an IV.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Welcome to another episode of Beyond the Wake Cook.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Welcome guys.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: We're shooting at Hue, and here goes my phone.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: So if you hear the phone ringing, we're going live.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So no secrets here.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: No secrets here.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Um why why do you have IV, Megan?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: What's going on with this?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I have been so sick.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So you don't look sick.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I was telling you, your hair looks probably one of the cutest times I've ever seen it.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I actually took a shower for the first time.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, this is the best I felt.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: There was no way three days ago I would have left my house, let alone come to record a podcast.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: But today is Wednesday.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: I started getting sick last Tuesday.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And I was telling you, it me like a ton of bricks.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So every month we do this like peptide revolution three night thing.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So it's usually Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, right?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: So when is that?
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Well, let's just talk about that.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: When do you usually do that?
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So every month is different.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: It's usually like the second or third month or third week of the month.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: So how would they register and get on?
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Because I actually had some people reach out to me about asking about yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: So it's through a metabolic mentor university.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: If you just follow them on Instagram, they always have links to the live webinars.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And then I try to put it on my socials when when we know the dates.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: So it was the first night and I get on and I think I was second to to talk.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I was second.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And I didn't have like the usual like woke up with a sore throat and then started getting worse.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: I felt completely fine all day.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: But I'm sitting there and I start to give my talk, and halfway through I was like, Oh, I'm really hot, like sweating.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I don't feel good.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: And I get through my talk, I turn my camera off, but I'm still like on the meeting, and I was like, Oh my god, and it hit me like a ton of bricks, and all of a sudden I was like sweating, shaking.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Whole body, my whole body hurt, like my clothes hurt where it would touch me.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And I called David, I'm like, you gotta come upstairs.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't feel good.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I don't continue to make dinner go through the night.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And he looked at me, he was like, Oh my god, you look horrible.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: So I feel terrible.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Sorry, Megan.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: So I signed off the meeting.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I texted my co-workers on there, and I was like, I'm really not feeling well.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: If you guys need something, let me know.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And then it just progressed, and it was just like fevers and sweating, and fevers and sweating.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: I did I've had this like chronic cough, but nothing like productive.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: It's not like a a cold where you have a bunch of mucus.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I've not had anything like that.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: And so that was Tuesday.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: It got way worse Thursday going into Friday, where I was like, I think I'm dying.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Like I can't do this.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: And just taking naps constantly.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Like, even if I had five minutes between a patient, I would just like put my head down and set an alarm.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Were you taking anything?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Were you trying to nurse yourself back?
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: I took a Z pack and then I took just DayQuil.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I was so funny.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: I was talking to one of my coworkers right before I came here.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: We had another meeting and she was like, I think you need a steroid pack.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: She's like, I can hear it in your voice.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And my chest has still just been really sore from all the coughing.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: No, it was fine.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Then David was out of town, which was a blessing this weekend.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: When I tell you I didn't do anything, I literally, besides taking my dogs to go potty, I like barely left the couch.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I watched so sorry.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: And I was out of town.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I wish I would have been here.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: It's totally because I was like, I missed, I miss you, and I hadn't seen you active on social.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So I was like, and I was like, sorry, I'm dying.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I felt horrible.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I watched Wakanda Forever Disney movie.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: We finished The Diplomat, which was so good.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Such a good show.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And then we watched called Nobody Wants This on.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I've never heard of that.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so cute.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: It's with Kristen Bell.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: It's about she dates a she's not Jewish, but she starts to date a Jewish rabbi.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: It's hella, you have to watch it.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: A rabbi?
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: A rabbi.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: It's great.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: And it's like this dynamic between she and her sister.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: It's really funny.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Like, and it's like 28-minute episodes, so they're quick.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So I binge that.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Because every time I even tried to work, I was like, I don't know what I'm doing.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Here, I feel better.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: And now I'm getting an IV.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Chacha.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: And I told you, I was like, come with you, gave an IV.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Because your vessels are all blown so many times I tried.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Here's listen, I have a legitimate excuse.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: I was oncology critical care.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's all.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: So my patients were all had picks.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: I never really had to start anything.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I'm easy with PRP.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I'm just, you know, take the blood.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: I will say starting an AV is not as easy as it's crammed up to me, especially when you do it by yourself.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Because you're all thumbs.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: And the hardest part is getting the T connector on to put the solution in the ceiling.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: So listen, y'all.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: I will tell you if you want to, I mean, I can do it, but Miss Tina, who has an ER background, yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Our other nurse practitioner, Tina, she's like fat.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: And she's like, quick, quick, quick.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And she done need me.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: I'm like, hey, did you need me to assist?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: She's like, assist what?
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: She's like, it's ready to go.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I will tell you, I know this is gross, but one thing that is really helpful, especially when you're like treating friends, don't wear gloves.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: It makes it easier.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Gloves get in the way, especially they get caught in the little lure lock.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: And that makes it hard to twist it on.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: When I worked in pediatrics and parents didn't love that, but I would never wear gloves when I'm starting an IV.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: But I'm like, do you want your child to have an IV or do you want us to fumble around mother screaming bloody murder?
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: So I would just wash my hands off the margin.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Good thing that you weren't screaming bloody murder, even though I tried three or four times.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: No, that that part I'm like really patient with.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: It's all the other stuff you do to my face that which is looking so bad at the end of the day.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, please please tell me um what David said all the bruises on your face.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So the last time we recorded two weeks ago, I just got in full face of sculpt draw.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: And so I was really and threads, which is so funny because it must have been the next, yeah, the next night Carrie came over for dinner.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And Carrie, my friend, has never had anything, and she was like, I don't want to look like and Robin, of course, is like, Yes, you do you want to look like that.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It was so funny.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Robin's like, you absolutely want to look like that because on the other side of it, it's gonna be the best.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so David, of course, has to go through as usual, like, oh my god, you're big always, you're never doing that again.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Look at your face.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: You're never seeing Chacha ever.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we saw Lucy for something, and he goes, I didn't do this to her.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, she has to know she has to know that I didn't beat you up.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, nobody thinks that.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: But then, so I was telling Chacha last night we're getting ready for bed, and David goes, Your skin looks so good.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: He's like, It really looks great.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Yeah, because I'm two weeks post-sculpture, so my skin is awesome.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: And he goes, That's not the reason.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: He like doesn't want to admit it is the reason.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: It is the reason, absolutely, and all I could think about is I just want to tug his little like cheeks back.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: My gosh, David.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: At least eight to ten vials to get him where I want to be.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Don't come after me.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: I know I've been doing sculpture for 10 years.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Yes, I can do eight to ten vials, not at once sitting.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it I mean, I'm telling you, there's speaking of that, you're having a special soon.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about it.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: I'm excited.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So uh twice a year, we have an incredible opportunity to pass on some savings for our patients.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: It's generally kind of like fall to festive, so Thanksgiving into Christmas, and then usually our anniversary.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: But this one is really exciting because we have the best rep support for this special.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: It's going to be it's called fall to festive.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: We have a couple things that we're doing differently.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: We are having a curated, like little pumpkin decorating area.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: So you see tomorrow, right?
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Uh no, this is actually individual, yeah.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Yep, in two weeks.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: So we have a pumpkin like pumpkin craft area, and you can enter your pumpkin in to win a prize of up to$500.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: We have almost$10,000 worth of free giveaways.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: And we have exclusive specials for our attendees that are coming on the day of the event.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Um, we've opened it up to where you can kind of purchase it like through the week of the event.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: I love this one because I have been into this whole country chic, this whole because you're in your daily partner area, right?
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Because I love Dolly.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And I love Ella too.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: What a time to be on your country chicken.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Did you hear that little controversy about Ella and Riley Green?
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: No.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: So Riley is a coach on the voice and he is smoking hot.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: He's so good on the eyes.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: But he was talking to one of the mentees, and he said to the mentees, like, I don't know if you know me.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: I'm Riley Green, and you may have heard unquote.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: He was basically like, and you might have heard of Ella just saying she was basically giving himself credit as to why she's so good.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: She's so successful.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: And he got back to her and she made a comment paraphrasing, essentially, like, Yeah, we know it was you, bud.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: That's why I'm famous.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Oh forget all the hard work and shit.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: I didn't have the scene.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did nothing.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: It's all you.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: I didn't write the song with uh Miranda Lambert.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know that it's so inappropriate.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: So inappropriate.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: But going back to the event, we're waiting to see if we can have a t-shirt bar.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Have you ever heard of a t-shirt bar?
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: No, what's that?
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it's like a whole thing.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: It's like you get to just choose your words, your you get to choose your words, your paraphrases, you get to pick your designs and they make a t-shirt right on the spot for you.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, what's the company?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: I want to do this.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: I'm going, it's one of my shout-out to Shannon from Lavender Trail up in Bellevue.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: She's giving me the connect, but yes, I will give you the connect party.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And what would you make?
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Something with the mouse.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: It'd be so fun.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: But isn't that great?
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: That is such a great activity.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: It's so fun.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: And they do it right on the spot.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: You pick your designs and everything.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: And then we're also gonna have the Northern Kentucky Medical Massage here giving out complimentary necks like we did for V3.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: I know people love that.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Wait, but are you is it November?
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: You have a sculpture special?
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, we do have a sculpture special.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'll just drop the T.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: It's buy three vials, get one free.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Favorite special.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: $100 worth of saints.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: That's what I do because we talked about I get sculpture twice a year.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: So I always go in on the special.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: That way I have vials stocked up.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: It's a great way to where are you gonna save$800?
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: $100 and something you're gonna be doing anyways.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: And you don't have to use it right now.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: You don't have to use it.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Where I'm really good.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: I like every time I talk to my patients, like I don't so funny about specials.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: I really try to, it's it's just trying to help patients budget for their when you told me, you're like, when you had that gift card special, and you're like, hey, Charlie, like we have a gift card special.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Like we want, like, we want savings as well, you know.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: We have the whole year to use it.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Absolutely sense.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: One of them, we have a mutual patient who I saw today, and she's coming to see you, I think, tomorrow.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: And she's she's getting sculpted for the first time.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: She's a little nervous, but she's very excited.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: She's like, I watch you on the podcast, and I'm really worried my face is gonna be all bruised.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: I'm like, it'll be worth it.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, here is a uh warning out there.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: You do have millions of vascular churches and miniature vessels and capillaries and all types of uh things crisscrossing.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: I call it the highway.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like you're gonna bruise.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: So I had a patient this forever ago with her 11s and her globellers.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: She used to call them her gates to hell.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: It just reminded me of that.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: What else is going on?
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: So tell us about your conference that you were just Oh, um, yeah.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: So um I try to go to one or two conferences a year, and this one, I was I was struggling to like pull the trigger.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: So, Dr.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Christian Subio.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: So, Dr.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Chris Subio is what really well known in the industry.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I would say that he likes to shake shit up, and rightfully so.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Give us an example of like something kind of rogue.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: I would say that he, well, it's more or less he makes you think.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: He always says, Why are you doing what you're doing?
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Were you taught that?
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Did you research that?
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Do you know the evidence behind that?
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: And you know, let's just be real.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: When these reps come and they talk to you about their products, they give you their backed up industry clinical trials.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Of course, yeah, of course.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: And so paid for by Pfizer.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: I love that shout-up.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: So when he is like when he is addressing like a study, he's a plastic surgeon, first of all, phenomenal.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And he's from Philadelphia.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: He will literally, you do not want to get in a fight with Dr.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Subio because he will he will literally snapshot the conversation between you two and put it on his IG and call you out, just to call you out and say, mmm, really though, are we really doing this?
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Are you really a plastic surgeon?
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Are you really an injector?
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Do you really have APRN behind your name?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Like he's he's that clinical.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: He that's whole.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: I will tell you, it makes you more responsible.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: It makes you be it makes you more prepared to answer these type of questions.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: And for me, when I first heard Dr.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Subio talk, it was at a conference in Las Vegas.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: And I won't say what it is because I don't want to have any issues, but it was a new bioregenerative treatment that everybody tried to jump on the bandwagon.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: And if but essentially it was used for bone repair.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: And so people decided that, okay, well, this is regenerative, we'll throw it into the regenerative category and we'll inject it everywhere.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: And some people were doing it in the tear troughs.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: And there were a lot of complications, a lot of different issues that came out.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And Dr.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Subio was like essentially saying, you have to be smart, you have to understand, can you support this?
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Can you explain to a patient why you took something that was indicated for this and inject it under an area that is essentially soft tissue because you don't have any, you're not born with any fat pads in the tear trough.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Explain to me.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: And it makes you think.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: And I, after watching them over a period of time, I was like, wow, this this man, obviously, I shouldn't say man because he is a very well-known plastic surgeon.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I said, wow, he's really making me think about what I want to bring into practice, how I want to educate my patients, how I want to read what are telling me.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: And how do I go and dive deeper into the clinical science of everything?
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: And so last year I have a group of people that I mentor said, Hey, we need to go to this.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: This is something different, something new, it'd be exciting.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: And he didn't roll out the speakers that were coming.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: So we're kind of in the dark, but we just knew it was going to be something amazing.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: He wants the best to have that conversation about how aesthetics is changing.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: So essentially he rolled out all the guest speakers that were coming about a month ago.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: And when I tell you, Megan, it is a dream team.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: It is like the it is the Michael Jordan, it is the Tom Brady, it is the Dolly Parton, it is it is all the goats in the industry.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: And I literally was on cloud nine.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: If you know me, you know I'm a nerd.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I love clinical data.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And I was privy to a lot of information that hasn't come out.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Things that are actually happening in the moment, a lot of clinical trials going on behind the scenes, things that we are being challenged as aesthetic providers, really exploring the anatomy of the face, looking at what happens in vitro and vivo.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Are we really doing our patients a disservice if we truly don't understand what is happening in the biological aging process as live?
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: So basically, we can look at cadavers, we can look at different compartments, we can look at our books, we can learn all these different things.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: But if we don't understand live tissue, are we really doing our patients a disservice?
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: So honestly, it's made me rethink some things and I shared with you.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: I think 2027 is gonna be the year that I really step into where I want to land.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Where I want to land in your expertise.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Was there any big treatment change or I don't know, some different product out there that you saw or some even a different way of something you're already using?
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: You know, I will I will say this, humbly speaking, I was very aware of the evidence that was presented.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: You weren't like, oh, this is totally new.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: No, I think that what what what I think that where a lot of novice injectors go wrong is they, I mean, and and rightfully so, when you have somebody that represents a company and comes to teach you how to inject and stuff like that, you know, they have their data and stuff like that.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: But why are you injecting there?
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Why are you putting units there?
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: And so I already knew that when we're injecting neurotoxin, we actually try to, we really try to manage the injection points at where the motor end plates are because that's where the neurotoxin should go and saturate.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: So if you have saturation in the motor end plates, you have a longer duration.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: I kind of already knew that.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: And so when I am actually teaching, I talk about that.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: And so it doesn't, it doesn't really sometimes it doesn't align with what you may hear from the industry.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: But the science, you gotta go to the science, you gotta really understand if I'm injecting what is happening to you when I'm injecting neurotoxin.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: You know, patients are like, I just want to be frozen, but what does that mean?
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: You know, what's happening to the muscles, you know?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: So it's just taken me into a really deep clinical dive.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: I am so excited.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I will tell you, I have so much information that I have to process and go through.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: I have to digress.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: I have a meeting with one of the top industry.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: I will say, I won't say who it is, but I've scheduled a meeting to talk to somebody in one of the portfolios, and they're very interested in my take on the um conference.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: So that's that's kind of big, you know.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited about that.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: They may, they may take some of my clinical learning and apply it to what's to come.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: That's exciting.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good for you.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: You look inspired.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, I love it.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: This is me.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: I can geek out all of the I love science and I I fight so hard to I I fight so hard to make aesthetics an area of medicine that is to be respected.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, versus just like every Joe Schmo can do it right now.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, absolutely unfortunately so true.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, yeah, we're waiting for IV.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Well, it's an immunity IV, so you've got some uh B complex in there, some vitamin C, things to kind of help you give some energy and knock out whatever you got going on, sis.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Girl, I need to get I don't know what's going on with me.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: You ready to talk about your personal life yet or no?
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Let's just say that I'm very as as this whole thing shook and almost like toppled over.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: I'm in a really good place.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: I I've never been shy about saying that I've had trust issues.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: And rightfully, sure so, but I'm I'm really happy and I will give a hint and say I didn't tell her I was gonna ask this before.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: You did know a little bit, yeah.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I am happy.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: It's somebody, yeah, it's somebody that I've known for quite some time, and just we've we we uh I can't even get the words out.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: He's a great guy, I can say that.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm happy for you.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: He's very tall, you're very short, which is really funny.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: He's very tall, he's very short.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: I actually didn't appreciate how tall he was until I saw him, and I was like, oh damn, you are tall.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: She is really short.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: But it reminds me of have you ever seen you know Simone Biles'?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she and her husband, he plays for the NFL, right?
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And she's like four foot seven.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: She's so cute and so strong.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: She's so short.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: But when you see them next to each other, you're like, oh, like there's a whole like two feet of air between the two of you guys.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: I will tell you that this situation is a little bit different because you know you have that little inner child in you, and when you're safe, you can kind of be playful.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: And I think that for a while I just kept that part of me really just protected.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: And so I'm in a good place because I know I know I'm starting to be more playful.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: And if anybody knows, obviously you call me injector cha-cha.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, how playful can you be?
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, so that part of me is definitely happy the inner child in me.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: What are you gonna be for Halloween?
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: I don't think I have the opportunity.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: So the only clear you I mean, I mean you gotta be simple as stuff.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: So the only thing.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: No, I don't.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: So the only thing I could really do is like what be the sexy nurse, right?
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: So No, you definitely have costumes.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I didn't a minute.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: You definitely have costumes.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'll come by and get the little cheese outfit that David.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Are you telling me you don't have any cosplay outfits?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Yes, you do.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: I do not.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I don't believe you.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: I have sexy jammy outfits that are like you know Do you wear sexy pajamas?
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Are you jammies or lingerie?
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: No, pajamas.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: So it's funny.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: We talked about this.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Um again.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: So beautiful and sexy.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: And you don't wear any lingerie?
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Like, no, never.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: So I bought one I own some.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: I have some.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: It's funny because every time we travel and we see it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Did you wear the lingerie I bought you?
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, my honeymoon.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's different.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Did you wear it?
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Yes, of course.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: It's so inappropriate over my house on the podcast here.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: No, it was actually very pretty.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: The thing is, when we were in Switzerland, we were talking about that because David was like, you know, you never really wear lingerie.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, yeah, but also because what am I?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: It's not very practical, right?
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: In that usually, so at night I take a shower and then I have to make dinner and feeding the dogs, I've taken the dogs out.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna go out in my neighborhood in lingerie, right?
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: Why not?
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: You'll have like a whole bunch of people following you bad.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: So then I'm wearing PJs because again, I took the dogs out, which is always a thing, and there's just always stuff going on.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: And I'll just be honest, most nights, like especially at night after dinner, I don't want to have sex.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: And if I'm wearing lingerie, it's didn't invite me.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: You know, so I'm trying to shut that shit down.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Like God.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: I honestly I've been I gained a little weight.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna lie.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: I think almost like they say when you're happy, happy weight, yeah.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: So I've got to put my lingerie to the side.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: I'm still wearing my one.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's fine.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: So I had a fight.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: My best friend, oh, I gotta tell you this.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: So my best friend is her name is Tiffany.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, and hi Tiffany, if you're listening, but she's like the best person, she's so down to earth.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: And she she always says, like, I have bougie in me.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, have you have you listened to our podcast?
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Have you seen Megan?
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: If I'm bougie, like Megan is like a mega bougie.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, she's not she is down to earth.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: She just loves just the simplicity of life.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: And I'm struggling right now.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And I know Tiffany, I want the best for you, but uh, she got a job offer, or she's going to get a job offer in fucking Oregon.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm devastated because, like, honestly, we have gone through so much together, and we don't have an opportunity to catch up because like life is lifing, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: But I am selfishly inside, like feeling a certain way.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: And I I'm I'm like, look, I know, I mean, this would change her whole life.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: But you're happy for it, but I'm happy for her, but I'm I'm honestly devastated.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I think I was like going through a morning.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, my partner was telling me, like, you may be experiencing some like grief.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: The grief of loss.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, literally, like my bestest friend in the whole wide world.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: It's like, what what would you do?
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: You know, what would you do?
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: You know, you you have to allow people to be successful.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: So I think the best thing you can do is lean into it and plan to visit and you know, make sure that she doesn't feel alone or isolated because she's already going to feel that because she's moving to Oregon.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: It's not like she's like going to Indiana.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I'm like, go girl, I'll be there every weekend.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, as far as so far herself is going to be isolating.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: So what she needs is a friend, is community.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: And I well, this is one of the things, and I and I've been transparent with her.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, you know, I want you to be successful.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: I am the the money that she's offering is phenomenal.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: This is why I wanted to do the 20 on you.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Because it's dripping.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: No, I just wanted to make sure.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Is it dripping?
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: I wanted to make sure it was still flowing, but it is.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Because I couldn't see the solution, but it is.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: So here's the thing.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: And she may be mad, but that's I'm just gonna share.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: She doesn't have she doesn't know anybody out there.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: All of her family, all of her friends, her brother, her mom.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: They all live here.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: They all live.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: I live here.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: It's not about you.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: I know it's not about me, but every her whole support system is here.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, what are you gonna do?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes it's challenging for her while she's here.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: And so I've just been thinking about ways to like help her because she is a single mom.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, I didn't know she has a child.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she has little Reese, who is the most amazing, incredible, intelligent child.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: How old is she?
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, it is Tiffany.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: I think Tiffany's 35 or 36 in older child.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Uh Reese is just turned four.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, so little.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: He's little, and yeah, so that's how I feel.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I think I'm I think that I actually may have been a little spicy to her because I was frustrated.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, I would just say that, right?
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: I'll just say I'm frustrated.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: I don't want to see you go, right?
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: I'm obviously sad.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: And yeah, and just be honest.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, nothing is forever, right?
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: And so she's taking Reese out there.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: She's taking Reese out there.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: When does she move?
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: I well, she's gonna probably get this job offer sometime this week.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: And I I did tell her you'd be stupid not to take this job out.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she is probably one of the most actually wanted her to work with you because she has she's uh NP and she's a specialist in women's health as well.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: So I wanted her to work with you on that's what she's doing out there.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Probably, but apparently this is like a unicorn hospital.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a small hospital that's growing.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Maybe you can speak on this since you've had more of like different areas of specialty.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: She said this hospital is able to give her almost three times what she's getting now because they are considered a special type of community where they get 300% reimbursement.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, I have no idea why it's significant, so that's why they can offer like literally she's getting almost three times the amount she's making.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: So I can't even I can't stop her, right?
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: I can only say go for it.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say go for it.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: And are they hiring somebody in plastics or something?
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: I've never said that.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I wanted to ask you about that, but I don't know anything about insurance because I'm in me, the cash bag.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: So so that's that.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: How's work here?
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Lovely.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: My girl Caitlin is killing it.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: I just love seeing her grow from time the most sex with her, like in her confidence, in her she's just so comfortable.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: And the way she handles certain things.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: I say, you know, I I'm saying I'm empowering her and saying, hey, you don't even have to grab me.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: I trust your decisions.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: If you need them, if you need me, just come grab me.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: But hearing her talk to patients about the different changes in their skincare regimen, I mean, the brilliance of this young lady.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: She can tell you every ingredient.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: Like today, I was like, hey, Megan.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: I got you guys again.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: So I said, You're lucky.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: You're one of my best friends because you get all the goodies, right?
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Something that I haven't even watched.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Literally perfect type.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: So, so for instance, I'm like, hey, Megan, this is a new eye care product, and we know it works well.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: We know the clinical trials behind it.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: It has caffeine in it, it helps reduce puffiness, and there's some things in here that'll help vulmanize your eyes.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: It's safe to use on your upper lid.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Caitlin came here, she would tell you every freaking ingredient in here.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And so that's what makes it different.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, but you're gonna love this, and we're gonna launch this soon.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: So it's from Zio.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love their new packaging.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, so nice, right?
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: So nice.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: So Galderma bought Zio.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: So Dr.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: Obaji killing it.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: So Dr.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Obaji is killing it, but I will tell you the day that I found out, I told my partner, I'm like, oh, we have to buy Galderma's stock because I know how amazing Zio skincare is.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: And so God, it's it's happening.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: And we were looking at the portfolio today and it went up.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So I was right.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So I may have a new side gig where I'm like consulting with skincare stuff.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: So in the stock market, that's what you're doing.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, there are people who probably need no way more than me.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Hey, but it went up.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: So that's good.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: So no, I think that's great.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: And then what treatments are people most getting this time of year?
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: What's everyone want?
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: I think the IPL.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: They're trying to clean up their software.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's true.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: And then you pair that with uh VIPL, right?
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Yes, or micro needling.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Microneedling as well with the IPL.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: With the IPL.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: It works.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: What's it stand for?
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Something pulse and those stupid fruit flies.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: And tense pulse light.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Um so I will tell you, you know, everybody's like, well, which one's better?
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: You know, and I I always work with everybody's budget.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: But there's different types of, you know, controlled injury that you can have to the skin.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: Obviously, IPL, well, I shouldn't say obviously, but IPL, tense pulse light.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: It actually causes a little bit of thermal injury and it's attracted to certain different wavelengths, and you're, you know, it has different wavelengths, so it can attract uh pigmentation at the superficial level, deep level, depending on what we're trying to uh attract there.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think my biggest clinical challenge is actually melasma.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: I think melasma, which I was actually a topic at needle art.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: And there was a a uh physician there who was talking about how challenging it is for him.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: Because we don't know every there's so many different types of melasma.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: There's red and brown melasma, there's red melasma, there's just brown melasma.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: They're all triggered by different things.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: And you know, you have your hormones, you have different medications, you have different irritants and things that can trigger melasma.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: And you can get melasma out of nowhere.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: It is like there's no genetical, uh genetic predisposition for it or anything like that.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: So melasma is one of the most challenging things across the board.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: And the thing is, it is there you can find melasma in any Fitzgerald.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: So it's not just um, you know, in the past we thought like Fitzgerald, like four and beyond, mostly had to do with hormones and medications and that combo.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: But no, I'm seeing a lot of Caucasian Fitz 1, 2, and 3 show up with melasma.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: So I'm really glad.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm really happy that I went to this meeting, um, this conference, because it's made me look at melasma a little bit differently and really trying to assess what type of melasma.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: I don't it they said take it a step further and don't just generalize melasma, but what are you looking at?
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: What type of melasma?
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: So I decided that I was gonna do a deeper drive in melasma because I will say that you know I treated it very generically and I've been successful, but I'm going to a derm conference in Chicago next March just because yeah, because I want to learn.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: I want to learn because all I think is hydroquinolone, isn't that what you put on it?
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: Like the bleed.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of evidence coming out about some oral medications that you can visit patients on.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: But you know, I'm not I'm not the type that's just gonna just do something.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I I have to like know it, breathe it, see it, experience it.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: So we can revisit this after I come back from that Durham conference.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: And I I invited other aesthetic practitioners to come.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: They're not interested.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: They're like, well, that's not our area of dermis, people are gonna ask you.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Absolutely ask me with you from Lasmo and I'm like, see your dermatologist, I don't know.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: I'm like, right.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: Um because there are such regulations too, and I know medium with hydroquinolone, like you should be really, really diligent about your sun exposure, right?
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: And absolutely, and it's like you have to wean off of it or you have adverse issues with that.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: But people treat the thing is like I don't even think like I think you have to just go to somebody that knows melasma 100%.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: It's not like let's see if this works, right?
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Because I will tell you, I've worked on patients who have melasma.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I am very conservative, but once I know, once I start a conservative approach and you're reacting well to it, then I will step it up and then pursue more of an aggressive approach.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: But I actually have seen great re results with IPL with the VIPL, but I will tell you, most uh publications will talk about how IPL can actually exacerbate melasma.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: So you have to be careful.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: So I'm just really excited that you know that was a topic that I got to experience at the conference.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm I'm looking forward to this sperm uh conference in March, and I'll probably be able to share more.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: And everyone wants their IPLs, their VIPLs.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: What's the downtime for an IPL?
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: No downtime really.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: It's like you crust, you know, it depends on, you know, the the thing is there's different layers.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: There's different layers where color sits.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: And generally uh the thing that's gonna crust is that superficial layer.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: Um, when you have those deeper layers and the melanocytes itself, it takes a while for it to surface.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: And so that's why I tell my patients generally you're gonna get three a series of three.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: The first one is probably gonna be the most significant change.
- 35:04SPEAKER_00: But thermal injury itself, thermal injury, controlled thermal injury is actually really good for the skin.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: You can reverse some sun damage as well.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: So I sometimes I'll do a IPL facial, and that's just to generate some collagenesis.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: I'll have Caitlin just clean them up, clean up their skin and give them a great assessment on what I'm looking at, and then I'll run energy really low on the neck and the face because any injury is gonna produce um great outcome for just collagenesis and geogenesis.
- 35:35SPEAKER_00: But yeah, even on IPL facial people love that as well.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: And then let's talk about the other thing you added, the saruma.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: What's it, the face?
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: The saluma?
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: Soluma.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: How did I say saruma and saruma?
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: I was the mystique?
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: So I have a lot of patients that um are we know this, going through perimenopause and menopause, and what's the first thing they see is you know, changes in the hair follicle, the scalp, and the microbiome of the the scalp itself.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, I cannot believe I did not tell you this.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: What?
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: What?
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: So she's having this the state board of cosmetology in Kentucky, yeah, is challenging us.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm not saying specifically us.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: They're saying aestheticians can't I don't even understand that.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: So the Board of Cosmetology graduate school, you learned so much about the scalp, makes you more certified.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: Get this, you guys.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: If you guys are watching this, please, if you are an aesthetician, I I'm telling you what's been happening behind the scenes.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: So one day um I get a phone call.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I get a lot of phone calls from different practitioners who look for me for guidance.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: And she said, Charia, she said, please help me.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: I said, What's going on?
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: She said, I just got a state board inspection and I think I'm gonna get in trouble.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: And I said, Well, well, who who inspected your sp your business?
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Because she's a med spa.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: She said, uh, it was the board of cosmetology.
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: I'm an aesthetician that works here.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: And I said, What would you get in trouble for?
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: I said, Well, you know, my state board inspected us, and we got dinged for having a uh a laundry dispenser that didn't have a like a vent, so we had to get rid of that.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: So we got one that obviously was in compliance, but nothing crazy.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: And then she said that uh state board was saying that aestheticians cannot work on the scalp because it's not considered skin.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: It is uh it is absolutely considered the smoking crazy the skin.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: What do you think there is attached to what is covering your skin?
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: It is I I had to take it talk about it.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: I had to take it to the medical dictionary.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: I looked for top evidence to prove that your scalp is made of skin.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, there's different layers.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Yes, there it's it's essentially it's skin.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: It's skin.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: So guess what?
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: I contacted I contacted the company.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: I'm so this is me.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: Like if I believe in something, like I'm going all in.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: So I contacted the company that I won't say the name, but there's a there's a there's a a device, I should say, yeah, and that a lot of estheticians use it to work on the scalp.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: And I contacted, like I said, I said, we have to have we we have a problem here.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: Because uh you're telling us, because you you sell it to us as hey, aestheticians, nurses, whatever can use it.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: But now we have a problem.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be giving a lot of fucking refunds out there if these aestheticians can't use it on the scalp.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: So now it's a huge thing.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: It's like going all the way.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yes, it's a thing.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: It it and and I am on the side of trying to support and show that the scalp is made of skin.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: It's skin.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: It's skin.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: So it made it.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: Shave your head and tell me what's underneath there.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, Megan, this, and like I am like so ramped up about this because my I mean, it's my friend.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: She's got she could be like, no, you're fine.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: She's like, Taria, no, like you're gonna get, and I'm like, I'm telling you, I had to send her like the definition of what skin was, and it absolutely included the scalp.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: So strange.
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: So uh so then I got approached by a couple nurse practitioners who heard about me stepping in and trying to defend you know these medical estheticians.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: And so now we're like, okay, so we're combing through the board of cosmetology, the board of nursing, and we're looking at all the things that might be questionable.
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: And we're really trying to kind of knock out the the problem is there's always like this gray area.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: And so in Kentucky, it's like you can look at it one way or the other, to the point that I am actually trying to hire a healthcare attorney to sit down and go and comb through the rules with me.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: And now that's that's my different project right there.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: So I'm actually, so if you if you guys know anybody that's a great healthcare attorney who can sit down and review some laws with me, yeah, I'd love to produce something to really for it to be definitive.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: Because as nurse practitioners, as medical aestheticians, like we really need to know what the what is a black and white, what's gonna, what is uh sick, what are what's gonna get me in trouble?
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: Scalp.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: So technically what's going on with you?
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: How's work?
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: Are you caught up?
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Kind of.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: I work is good, busy.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Uh, we were supposed to, Michael had reached out and he was like, hey, we need to have a meeting with Vince to make some decisions about some moves that we're making, and then I you know me, I just said, sure, just tell me when and I'll move things around.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: And they never followed up.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: So won't hold my breath there.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: It's good, it's busy, kind of status quo.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: What we are doing is moving, so Matt, remember from B3?
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's amazing.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: Our ninja, our GOAT, our VIP.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: We are moving our telemedicine platform to another platform.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: So right now, Athena is like our EMR, and we have an extension in Athena that allows us to do telehealth.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: It's called KaiRis, doesn't really matter.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: And it's fine, it's worked fine, but it's not as patient-friendly as like Zoom or Google Meet or whatever, these other platforms.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: And so he and his company have been redoing that whole thing so we can get rid of KaiR, but still chart in Athena.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: It's a whole IT nerded out thing that I don't understand.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: I have no idea what you just said.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Probably have to like replay this.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: It's a lot of stuff.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: Long story short, now all of our telehealth appointments, once we launch, which hopefully will be in a few weeks, will be like through Google Meet, through Google Calendar.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: It's still HIPAA compliant, all the forms can be done, blah, blah, blah.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: But it's been a huge lift on his side.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: But we're all so excited, also because now, like from the providers, all of our calendars will sync in our Google Calendar, which is perfect.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: Because right now we have to like look at two calendars.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: You have to log into Athena to look at your schedule and then log into your Google Calendar.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: Now everything talks to each other, which is really nice.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: That's a nice.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, when we were putting together B3 and the girls were putting together everything, our meetings and everything.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: They were so well versed.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: I'm oh my gosh.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: They are Olivia's been doing a lot of it, yeah.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: They are whippers snappers.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, guys, you just figure this out because they can figure it out.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, especially Aaron.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Erin knows how to do everything.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: She's like, I sent her like some random.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, did you see her wedding photo?
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, smoke baby.
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: So pretty.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: She's so pretty.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: So pretty.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: I loved her big curls.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: She looks so good.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: That's Texas girl.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but she is so good at all the stuff.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: So when can you go out to dinner?
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: Because we have plans.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: No, we gotta we have to take all the B3 girls out for dinner.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, just think about how long ago B3 was.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: We have been so busy that we have not had a chance to even sit down and celebrate.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: And it's gonna be uh the holidays, which I was gonna ask you.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: So what are you doing for the holidays?
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: I think I just go to your parents.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: I I I do.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: I don't want to do anything.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: I just want to be close to my parents.
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: When are you gonna get your friend?
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Do you know?
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: Probably some sexy little It'll be me.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: My big red mo with a big red bow.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: And a cowboy hat and cowboy boots.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: No.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: No, I really want to be with my parents.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: I my sister, bless her hearts.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: My my mom and dad both just got dentures or partials or whatever they're called.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: And just it just hit me like a ton of bricks.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: Like, oh my God.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: Like that is something that you don't think about it because you're looking at it from like The child perspective, and you're looking up at your parents.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I remember when I was younger thinking about what this would look like for them.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: I actually I'm very like, I think about these type of things, right?
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: And I'm an empath.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: So I was like, I wonder what they're thinking about where they had to have their teeth removed and they're wearing these partials now.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: And what they may be feeling, because obviously, like I can't even stand it that I'm having jowls, let alone losing teeth and having to get partials.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: Did you talk to them about it?
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: And I said, Mom, and I was so I don't even know why I said it.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I just think about the way I say things, and sometimes I can't hold back.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Mom, are you excited about your new teeth?
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: And she's just like, No, I'm not.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: She's like, I'm I'm aging.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: I don't like my I don't have teeth, Tarya.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: It's like, I'm sorry.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Like I didn't even think about it, you know?
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get it.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: So then I got like I I was in my feels, I cried because I didn't consider how that may have come across.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: I was just wanting, I don't know.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: I wanted to make her feel better.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: So then I told my partner, Will you like me when I don't have tea?
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: Of course he will.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: Like, could you imagine?
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: No.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: It's funny because David will always say stuff like, Yeah, you're old as shit now.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: When you're that old, I'll I'll still love you.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: We were actually talking about, and I'm I'm not making light of it.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: I just it's meant to be a funny story though.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: So one of David's really good friends, his wife has breast cancer, and uh it's very sad because she's very young actually.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: And you know, and I I know her and I've known him a long time, and I was like, Oh my god, like I'm so sorry, that's so sad.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: And he was saying, he's like, Yeah, you know, um, she didn't want to go conventional therapy because she doesn't want to lose her hair, and she was like very honest about that.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which uh it's pretty aggressive.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: The cancer is pretty aggressive.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: And so they tried to do like other holistic things, and now she has metastases.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, and you know, David was saying he was like, Yeah, I feel bad, but you know, and I said it's her choice, you know.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: She and I was like, I get it.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: Like, if you're gonna lose your whole identity, like that's hard.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: And he literally turned to me, he goes, I'm sorry, what?
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Yeah, I mean, if I felt like I was gonna lose my hair, lose my identity or get lymphedema, that'd be a hard decision.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: He was like, I would anesthetize you and you would get the treatment.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: I don't care what happens to you.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, he was so aggressive.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: He was like, No, I literally I will knock you out and you will get whatever treatment they tell you.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: I don't care if all your hair falls out.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: I was like, Okay, Dave, thanks for respecting like my boundaries, right?
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: I do kind of believe that he would.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: I would wake up without an arm.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yes, for sure.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: My god, those are hard discussions, so it is.
- 46:46SPEAKER_00: And you know, everyone has to make their own decisions.
- 46:49SPEAKER_00: Have you had that conversation with David, like your wishes and stuff like that?
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: We do not see eye to eye.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: So I'm more on the side of like, I want dignity and just to be comfortable.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: And he was like, absolutely fucking not.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: I don't care if like there's one toe.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one toe left, one toe and one eyelash.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's still he's gonna fight for you 100%.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, please don't do that to me.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: Like, please don't do that to me.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: Like, just let me go.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: Like, and he's always like, What?
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: No, of course not.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: Of course you would do this.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: I could see him being very fucking emotional about that.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: You you guys will all step in and be like, listen, she doesn't want to live like this.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: I think he wouldn't give a and knowing David, he wouldn't give a fuck.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: He'd be like, save her eyelash, like save her eyelash, save her toe, save her eyelash.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, he loves you so much.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: He would, yeah, he's I'm a little more like, I want you to have dignity.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: He's always like, he'll turn the lights off so quick.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Ma'am, he's gonna be okay.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: No, he wouldn't want he wouldn't want to live with an IV, just him go.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Ma'am, he's just getting a rook now.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: Just let him go.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: No, I was just kidding.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't do that.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: Oh no, see, the th the weird thing is like in my culture, we don't talk about that.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know what my parents want.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: No, I'm the power of attorney for both my parents.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're both DNRs, that I know for sure.
- 48:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: Within reason, right?
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: And I think you I think you wouldn't know.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't torture anybody.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: I would torture my dog.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: Like one of my parents.
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: How is the puppy?
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: I'm excited.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: He's so big, my dog.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: 32 pounds.
- 48:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, big baby.
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: He looks like like a white worm.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: He's like this thick, he's not fat at all, but he's just filling out.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: You have to touch his hair too.
- 48:36SPEAKER_00: He's so soft.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: He's so sweet.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: Bodie has gotten so big.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: He's been so good.
- 48:41SPEAKER_00: Is he good?
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: He's been so good.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's full of energy, but he's great.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: No more chewing, obviously, no accidents.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: He just wants to play all day long.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: He's so happy.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: Did he graduate from training school?
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Instead of this final week of intents, and then we'll just go to once a week.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 48:59SPEAKER_00: So the trainer and I met like at a restaurant last week and like practiced.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: It was great because there was a greyhound sitting next to us.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: So like practice being out public and not like not barking, not being annoying.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: Which I mean, he's five months, so he still has moments.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: But he's he's so great.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: He's so cute.
- 49:16SPEAKER_00: He is so cute.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: I just look at him and I melt.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I love you so.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: Is Gibby's looking at him like, what in the world?
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: He's just like, stop.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: Because literally, like the moment you wake up, Bodie's like, and he like makes his voice and he's like ready to go.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: Where so I take him out and then I bring him in the bathroom with me while I'm getting ready so that he leaves Gibbs alone.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Because Gibbs is asleep.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: So literally, like, I get ready, go upstairs, get the dog's food ready.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: By then, Nova's kind of like awoken up, and literally I wait until I'm about to walk out the door to go wake up Gibbs because he just is old.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: And I always he's like sleeping in our bed.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, Bud, time to wake up.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: And Bodie's like, he's like so excited for Gibbs to wake up.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, but you have to get out of his face.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: He's like, play with me, bye me, play by my body.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Play with me.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: Gibbs is probably like babies.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: He's like, I am so old.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: Just leave me alone.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so that's good.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: And then we have our friend Robin's birthday.
- 50:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: She, I won't say how old she is, but she's a Halloween baby.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: I got to meet her parents.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: So it was really funny because it reminded me of even though how much someone you don't know, obvious details.
- 50:28SPEAKER_00: And I always remember the story of when I went to Lucy's house for Easter.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: This was three or four years ago.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: And we've been friends for a long time.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I'm going to Easter at her house.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: And her parents were there, and I had no idea that she is British.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: Her parents are from London.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, they have thick accents.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Like you can't understand a word coming out of her mom's mouth.
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: And I was like, You adopted?
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: And she was like, What?
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Your parents are English?
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: She's like, Yeah, I was born in London.
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: I was like, What?
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: So I had like kind of a similar situation where I didn't realize Robin's parents were Jewish and they're like very Jewish.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: So we got on this whole topic because I was like, wait, did you have a bot mitzvah?
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: And her mom was like, No, I really wanted her to, but she quit Hebrew school.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Robin, there's no time like the present.
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: Let's go to Hebrew school and let's have a bot mitzvah.
- 51:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that would be bot mitzvah.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: I was like, everyone will love me.
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: We'll all go.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: We'll all get dressed up.
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: You have a big party.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: Like, who cares?
- 51:24SPEAKER_00: So she was like reciting the Torah this weekend.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: It's really funny.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: She's the best.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: She is the sweetest soul.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: She is so sweet.
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: Like baseball works out.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: I guess they're on strike, or I don't know.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: So I sit on the Reds actually.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:40SPEAKER_00: What do you think about it?
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: Just dicey.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: It's a little dicey right now.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: Kind of figure things out.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: A lot of jobs on the line, obviously.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: So we're just praying for the city of Cincinnati, too.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, I mean, I mean, the Reds is baseball.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: If anything, we I mean, um, the Cincinnati Reds is iconic.
- 52:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:01SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: So we're just all hoping and praying that things can get worked out.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: What are you doing for the holidays?
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: So my sister's party?
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: I don't think so because there's a Bengals game on Year's Eve.
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: So I think we're actually gonna go.
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, that'll be fun.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: So my sister and my brother-in-law and my nephew are visiting for the first time for Thanksgiving.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: Which I didn't did.
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: You know we have a hockey team?
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: I didn't know.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: So don't like a real one?
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: We have a real one called the Cincinnati Cyclones.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: I had no idea.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get us canceled.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: Did we not know?
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: I didn't know until like a week ago.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: So they they my uh nephew was obsessed with hockey.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: So they have a game the night before Thanksgiving.
- 52:43SPEAKER_00: So we're going to that.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: That's nice.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: And they'll be here for that weekend, which will be nice.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: So we're hosting.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: And then Christmas, I'm driving the dogs to my parents' house in Florida, and then David and I are going to Banff at B-A-N B-A-N-F-F Canada.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: Some kind of room I don't know.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: He really wanted to go some kind of snowy.
- 53:05SPEAKER_00: So I can't so I can't selfishly ask you to have a vision board party with me.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: But before I have some I was thinking about that because now I want to do the t-shirt thing in December.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: We don't leave until like the 23rd.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: We're only going for three days.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: And then coming back for New Year's.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: So we'll be here for New Year's, but I think we're going to the Bengals game.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: Which I don't know how that's gonna work.
- 53:26SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be so cold.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to wear seven onesies.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: I don't understand.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: And also the Bingles.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: Because he's got onesies.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: You should see.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: He already has his turkey outfit.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: And the funnier thing, so for the hospital, they all the executives are Toy Story characters, and they sent me an email saying he needs to be a Mr.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: Potato Head.
- 53:47SPEAKER_00: Oh my God.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: That's perfect.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: So I got him this big, inflatable Mr.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: Potato Head that he has to wear.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: I think it's tomorrow.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: And he was like, how do I pee in this?
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, you pee before you because it's like an inflatable outfit.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: It's hilarious.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: It is so funny.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: So he's gonna be walking around Cincinnati Tolkien's hospital in Lester Potato.
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, the media on that is gonna be amazing.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: The best.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: I'm speaking of the last thing I'll say, Halloween costume.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: Shout out to Lindsay Carter.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: So she's obsessed with Halloween.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: And I'll show you the picture afterwards.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: So they have two wiener dogs.
- 54:24SPEAKER_00: She is a gigantic inflatable wiener dog.
- 54:27SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: It is the biggest costume I've ever seen in my whole life.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: She sent us all a picture like in our group text thread, and I was like, I don't think I can unsee that.
- 54:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, and just like her little head is popping off the top, and she's got this big wiener dog.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: I'm so happy with our circle of like colleagues and friends.
- 54:45SPEAKER_00: They're just amazing.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: Good people.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: 100% amazing good people.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna be around for a new year or so?
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: And your friends gonna be.
- 54:54SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't know what we're doing.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: I do know that I I don't know.
- 54:57SPEAKER_00: I I feel a little bit more I I feel more I I call it like equally yoked.
- 55:03SPEAKER_00: Like I am balanced and wanting to stay really grounded with like family and friends.
- 55:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, see.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: Where before I just was like, I don't I don't want to be here.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: I don't want to be here.
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: Like I don't want to be here.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: Like I want to be out of the, you know, out of the country, out of town.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: Like, but I really like I want to just spend time with people I love and care about, you know.
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: See, the other thing I was thinking would be fun for a party is a mentalist.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: Have you ever I saw that famous guy that works with the NFL players and the the guys like lose their minds, it's just so good.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: That's what I want to do.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't that be fun to hire a mentalist?
- 55:38SPEAKER_00: So fun.
- 55:40SPEAKER_00: Where the hell would we find a mentalist?
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: Google.
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: If you guys know a mentalist, we always do this.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, if you guys know a mentalist, shout out so all right.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: I think that's it.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, everyone, have a good night.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna sit here with my banana.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: We'll see you guys next week.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: And yes, like, subscribe, and share.
- 55:58SPEAKER_00: We'll have some guests coming up.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: I'm working on a couple right now.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, bye.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: Bye.
