- 0:00Speaker 1: Time to give you the opportunity to get into the
- 0:02Speaker 1: drawing to win a pair of tickets to see Brooks
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Done March fourteenth at Moody Center. And this is
- 0:08Speaker 1: how it works. You've probably heard how we've taken to
- 0:12Speaker 1: our talkback feature on the iHeartRadio app for contesting. So
- 0:17Speaker 1: this is how it works. You take your smartphone, whether
- 0:20Speaker 1: it's an iPhone or Android whatever, and if you don't
- 0:24Speaker 1: already have the iHeart Radio app downloaded on your phone
- 0:30Speaker 1: very easy, doesn't cost them things, completely free, all that
- 0:33Speaker 1: sort of stuff, and you can download it. Then you
- 0:35Speaker 1: search AM thirteen hundred the zone. It'll come right up.
- 0:40Speaker 1: When it pops up, you're going to see two buttons.
- 0:42Speaker 1: One is a white one that said I believe the
- 0:44Speaker 1: shape of a triangle. That you push that if you
- 0:46Speaker 1: just want to listen to the programming on the air.
- 0:49Speaker 1: But there's another button, a red one with a little
- 0:51Speaker 1: white microphone. What you want to do is push that
- 0:53Speaker 1: button and activates our talkback feature, and then you leave
- 0:56Speaker 1: us a message could be up to even thirty seconds
- 0:59Speaker 1: if you want, but probably you just want to let
- 1:01Speaker 1: us know, hey, I've been listening to the show. Uh,
- 1:03Speaker 1: listening to the Craigway Show, and I heard the keyword
- 1:06Speaker 1: for the Brooks and Dune concert drawing today's keyword reboot.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Reboot is the keyword. So you just leave that on
- 1:16Speaker 1: the message they're on the iHeartRadio app. Real easy to
- 1:19Speaker 1: do with our talk back feature. All Right, I mentioned
- 1:22Speaker 1: I was going to talk about the NFL. You didn't
- 1:23Speaker 1: think I was going to go all of you know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: the whole show without mentioning that Thursday night, the NFL
- 1:28Speaker 1: game last night. I think it just goes to show,
- 1:37Speaker 1: certainly how effective offensively the Rams can be when they
- 1:44Speaker 1: do have two of their biggest weapons back, Hooper Cup
- 1:48Speaker 1: and Puka da Koua. They've both been out several weeks.
- 1:50Speaker 1: They both returned and they were both big factors in
- 1:54Speaker 1: the game. Nakua caught several passes and then of course
- 1:58Speaker 1: so did Cup on that first drive, and Cooper Cup
- 2:02Speaker 1: also wound up getting a touchdown in there as well.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Nikup had nine targets, Cup had eight, and then oh
- 2:10Speaker 1: by the way, Kyra and Williams had seven, and he
- 2:13Speaker 1: ran the ball well and the Rams beat the Vikings
- 2:15Speaker 1: thirty to twenty. Now I also know what one other
- 2:19Speaker 1: much discussed piece of this game is and can't ignore it.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They're up twenty eight to twenty with under two minutes
- 2:27Speaker 1: to go. The Vikings have no timeouts left and they're
- 2:30Speaker 1: backed up inside their own ten yard line, so the
- 2:33Speaker 1: odds were going to be greatly against them being able
- 2:35Speaker 1: to drive all the way downfield get a touchdown and
- 2:39Speaker 1: a two point conversion to tie the score. The Vikings
- 2:43Speaker 1: did not score a touchdown in the second half, but
- 2:47Speaker 1: Sam Darnold was sacked at the end zone for a safety.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And yes, the officials missed what should have been a
- 2:53Speaker 1: face pass call, but they missed it. They didn't see it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You can't review that. You can't challenge two points on
- 3:01Speaker 1: the board. I was curious to see how the Vikings
- 3:05Speaker 1: were going to do an on side free kick, because
- 3:08Speaker 1: you have to free kick after a safety, and I
- 3:10Speaker 1: was interested to see how they were gonna do the
- 3:12Speaker 1: on side kick, and I thought I was pretty impressed
- 3:14Speaker 1: by the Rams got right under it, but it was
- 3:16Speaker 1: like a little pop fly straight up, like you were
- 3:19Speaker 1: hitting fungos straight up, and it came down and Kyrin
- 3:23Speaker 1: Williams snagged it to make the catch and that sealed
- 3:27Speaker 1: the deal. I completely agree with those who say, yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 1: the officials missed a call, and I'm a RAMS fan,
- 3:32Speaker 1: they did miss the call. They should not have called.
- 3:35Speaker 1: They should have called a face mask. It would have
- 3:39Speaker 1: taken it out to the twenty yard line. It would
- 3:42Speaker 1: have been first down with about I think it was
- 3:44Speaker 1: a minute twenty left, a minute twenty five left, and
- 3:49Speaker 1: they still would have had to go eighty yards in
- 3:52Speaker 1: that time with no timeouts to get a touchdown a
- 3:55Speaker 1: two point conversion. But it definitely took all the guestwork
- 3:58Speaker 1: out of it. With the safety. Now I am not
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm not in agreement with the people who make references
- 4:05Speaker 1: to the numbers that were being established in the desert
- 4:10Speaker 1: with that deal. The mainly the over I think it
- 4:12Speaker 1: was the over under, wasn't it. It was at forty
- 4:15Speaker 1: eight and a half, and at the time it was
- 4:18Speaker 1: under because it was twenty eight twenty. So if the game,
- 4:22Speaker 1: let's just say they threw the flag and the Vikings
- 4:26Speaker 1: got a first time but they ended up not scoring,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the game would have ended with the under instead of
- 4:31Speaker 1: fifty points as the over. So Cam I think it's
- 4:35Speaker 1: bad beats involved. There is basically what that.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Was for sure, And back to the face mass penlinity,
- 4:43Speaker 2: Why do we as a sports society all of a
- 4:45Speaker 2: sudden when things like this happened, And then the first
- 4:48Speaker 2: time where there's a big play where there's a miss
- 4:52Speaker 2: call or something, isn't you know, reviewed right, and it's like, oh,
- 4:56Speaker 2: that cost him the game? When it takes away from
- 4:59Speaker 2: the fact that at Minnesota struggled, struggled on offense after
- 5:05Speaker 2: their first two drives. I mean they ended the first
- 5:07Speaker 2: half with two punts Craig and in the second half,
- 5:09Speaker 2: after Stafford's interception, they got down in the five yard line,
- 5:13Speaker 2: couldn't punch it in fuel gold, then another field goal
- 5:16Speaker 2: and then the other putt and then just to say, okay,
- 5:19Speaker 2: they called the face mass you mentioned it, eighty yards,
- 5:22Speaker 2: no timeouts and ninety seconds. Are we sure they're gonna
- 5:25Speaker 2: score touchdown and get the two point conversion? And then
- 5:28Speaker 2: ultimately what when in overtime? I don't understand why so
- 5:32Speaker 2: many people, just Aszume like I saw the athletic just
- 5:35Speaker 2: kind of like like, oh, we're gonna talk about a miscalling.
- 5:37Speaker 2: What a huge miscall. No, the Rams were the better
- 5:40Speaker 2: team in that game in the second half, I mean
- 5:43Speaker 2: huge credit to what Jeohn mcfay and Stafford and the
- 5:47Speaker 2: and the offense did. Those two touchdown drives were huge.
- 5:50Speaker 2: They went seventy yards on both those drives. Craig eighteen
- 5:54Speaker 2: plays total, took off almost seven minutes on their last
- 5:57Speaker 2: scoring drive. So understand why we always do this with
- 6:02Speaker 2: miss calls as if okay, yeah, it's going to go
- 6:04Speaker 2: from the twenty yard line to the one yard line
- 6:07Speaker 2: the very next play. Now, the Rams still were the
- 6:10Speaker 2: better team in that game. And it's crazy what happens
- 6:13Speaker 2: when Matthew Stafford isn't throwing the uber drivers, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 2: when he gets Cooper Cup and Pooking Akoula back all
- 6:18Speaker 2: of a sudden, it's like, hey, look out. And to
- 6:20Speaker 2: your point, Craig talked about it yesterday, look out because
- 6:24Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Rams, now just like that, are three
- 6:28Speaker 2: and four and looking at the NFC West standings, hey,
- 6:31Speaker 2: they could be a half a game back if Seattle
- 6:33Speaker 2: does lose this weekend.
- 6:36Speaker 1: How ugly is the NFC West Right now? The Rams,
- 6:39Speaker 1: the forty nine ers, and the Cardinals are all three
- 6:41Speaker 1: and four, and they're only one game out of first
- 6:44Speaker 1: because the Seahawks are four and three. Oh by the way,
- 6:46Speaker 1: the Rams play in Seattle next week. And remember last
- 6:50Speaker 1: year the Rams were three and six coming out of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the by and they won seven of their last eight
- 6:56Speaker 1: games to get into the playoffs. They were one in
- 6:59Speaker 1: four out of the Buy, and now they went back
- 7:01Speaker 1: to back games. When lind and I were in Los
- 7:03Speaker 1: Angeles last week to see Joni Mitchell dilly Wood Bowl,
- 7:05Speaker 1: we were driving around LA while the Rams were playing
- 7:08Speaker 1: the Raiders and JB. Long. They're played by play voice
- 7:11Speaker 1: with DeMarco Farr and Maurice Jones Dry. They were talking
- 7:17Speaker 1: about the comparisons between last year's team that was three
- 7:21Speaker 1: and six coming out of the Buy and this one
- 7:22Speaker 1: one in four and can they get on a roll?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Can they get on the roll. The biggest difference this
- 7:26Speaker 1: year is they've got guys back healthy, and that makes
- 7:30Speaker 1: the difference, and it makes Matthew Stafford a better quarterback
- 7:32Speaker 1: for sure. I don't know if they got enough to
- 7:34Speaker 1: overhaul all the other ones. They have a head to head,
- 7:37Speaker 1: went over the forty nine ers, and they start to
- 7:39Speaker 1: play them one more time. They have they had to
- 7:41Speaker 1: head loss to the Cardinals, but they start to play
- 7:43Speaker 1: them one more time, so we'll see, and then they've
- 7:46Speaker 1: got two games against Seattle, so we'll see how that
- 7:48Speaker 1: ultimately goes. I'm not saying that division is gonna wind up.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Remember the year that it was seven and nine, yes Seattle, right, yeah, yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: seven and.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Nine, those of Marshawn Lynch here when he ran over
- 7:59Speaker 2: the same defense, right right.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yes, I'm not saying it's going to be that bad.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But it could be nine and eight. It certainly could.
- 8:10Speaker 1: It certainly could be nine and eight wins. That division
- 8:13Speaker 1: first one to nine wins may wind up winning that thing.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I don't know. All Right, we'll be back to wrap
- 8:17Speaker 1: up our number two of the program from here in
- 8:19Speaker 1: Nashville and Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
