- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome
- 0:07Speaker 1: in his time now for car Talk, brought to you
- 0:09Speaker 1: by the Dungeons Family of Autos Dungeons Toyota Brad Dungeons.
- 0:13Speaker 2: How are you today, Good morning, Tom, I'm great, and
- 0:16Speaker 2: good morning to you friends out there. Thank you for
- 0:18Speaker 2: joining us this morning. We're so glad you're with us.
- 0:21Speaker 2: My guests today are Corey Snelson and Sammy Dodson. Say hello, Hello,
- 0:26Speaker 2: thanks for coming.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Glad you guys are here, Thanks for having us.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And you guys are both with our vest and also
- 0:32Speaker 2: with the young professionals.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes, pattern there, I think.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I know we're following each other, Aroun.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I appreciate our best for that. They always have a
- 0:41Speaker 3: lot of bringing a lot of nice young people into
- 0:44Speaker 3: our community.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And you guys get to know each other through YP
- 0:48Speaker 2: and it's.
- 0:49Speaker 3: A great program hereon Borlosvilt.
- 0:51Speaker 2: It's been I don't remember when it started, but it's
- 0:54Speaker 2: been around for a long time. Yeah, tell us about
- 0:58Speaker 2: what's going on at YP these days.
- 1:01Speaker 4: You know, we have a lot of things happening.
- 1:03Speaker 5: So Sammy, I currently serve as the past president, and
- 1:07Speaker 5: so I just rolled over on July first, and so
- 1:10Speaker 5: Amanda French is our new president, which is exciting. I'm
- 1:13Speaker 5: not sure if you guys saw our video on Facebook,
- 1:15Speaker 5: but we did a fun little video. So Sammy is
- 1:17Speaker 5: actually doing a lot of social media for us, and
- 1:20Speaker 5: she does a lot of our social chair items. But
- 1:23Speaker 5: our biggest thing that we have coming up right now
- 1:25Speaker 5: is our softball tournament.
- 1:26Speaker 4: So this is brand new. We're really excited and so
- 1:30Speaker 4: this was actually Samy's idea. So we'll see how it
- 1:32Speaker 4: goes right now. No, but it's it's going to be good.
- 1:35Speaker 4: We're excited.
- 1:36Speaker 5: Got sponsorships still available, and then we have five teams
- 1:40Speaker 5: that are on there right now, and so we're going
- 1:42Speaker 5: to be at the artun Off Fields and then the
- 1:44Speaker 5: championship is actually going to be at the Dungeon Stadium.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Cool.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Were really excited.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's so. What's the deal why I have
- 1:52Speaker 3: a softball tournament?
- 1:53Speaker 6: Well, for me, they're kind of the reason that I
- 1:57Speaker 6: thought about doing a softball tournament is I wanted to
- 1:59Speaker 6: bring something a little bit different to Bartlesville.
- 2:01Speaker 4: We have a lot of nonprofits.
- 2:03Speaker 6: We're always raising money for different places in the community,
- 2:07Speaker 6: and I thought what better way of bringing people together
- 2:11Speaker 6: to do something a little bit different, a little bit competitive.
- 2:14Speaker 6: The community can be involved, other corporations can be involved,
- 2:17Speaker 6: and then the top three winners actually get money to
- 2:20Speaker 6: donate back to the organization of their choice, so to
- 2:23Speaker 6: get the community involved, but also to still give back
- 2:27Speaker 6: to the community.
- 2:28Speaker 5: And of course, yeah, this is also another way to
- 2:31Speaker 5: tap into a different type of crowd, right, and so
- 2:35Speaker 5: people that maybe haven't been a part of Young Professionals
- 2:37Speaker 5: in the past. We're bringing in new people, which is
- 2:39Speaker 5: really exciting. We're getting exposure and people are really excited
- 2:43Speaker 5: about the tournament.
- 2:44Speaker 4: So we'll see, we'll see how it goes.
- 2:46Speaker 3: And YP does so much stuff.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I mean, you mentioned your philanthropy and you guys just
- 2:50Speaker 2: we're a lot of the nonprofits and are always connecting
- 2:53Speaker 2: people in town. And really, you know, it's a great
- 2:57Speaker 2: network of people that you know, get them involved in
- 3:01Speaker 2: the community and get it. You know, if you're new
- 3:03Speaker 2: to town, it gives you a chance to meet some
- 3:05Speaker 2: people and really explore what Barbletil has to offer.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think people that are coming in
- 3:12Speaker 5: so our mission really is to help people live, work
- 3:14Speaker 5: and play in Bartlesville and so and that's really what
- 3:17Speaker 5: we're doing, right, and so we've changed a lot of
- 3:20Speaker 5: things in the last few years, and so just trying
- 3:22Speaker 5: to figure out where, you know, what.
- 3:24Speaker 4: People want to do. And that's when Samy came up
- 3:27Speaker 4: with the idea. It's like, why not, let's try it.
- 3:29Speaker 5: And so we tell people all the time when we're
- 3:30Speaker 5: at events, is hey, if you if there's something that
- 3:33Speaker 5: we haven't done here, we haven't tried, like, let's try it.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Like come you're going to be on our committee though,
- 3:38Speaker 5: but let's for sure.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great, And it does seem like summer has
- 3:44Speaker 2: finally arrived around here.
- 3:45Speaker 3: It's hot.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we've been really busy.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Out at the dealership.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Today we'll be out at the Lighthouse Outreach Center for
- 3:54Speaker 2: the I had no idea Lunch and Tour were sponsoring
- 3:58Speaker 2: today and.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So I look forward to seeing folks out there.
- 4:02Speaker 2: That organization does a lot of great for our community
- 4:05Speaker 2: and we're proud to support them. Also, the tonight kicks
- 4:08Speaker 2: off the forty fourth annual Green Country Rodeo. If you
- 4:12Speaker 2: have you guys haven't been out to that, you want
- 4:14Speaker 2: to go watch the Mutton bust and for sure, but
- 4:17Speaker 2: every night they have a special theme. There's lots of
- 4:19Speaker 2: great food and it's a fun time, it really is,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and we'll be out there. They were shuttling out some
- 4:27Speaker 2: new Forerunners and Tacomas and Tundras out there for people
- 4:30Speaker 2: to check out last night, and our team will be
- 4:33Speaker 2: out there. And then here is just a few minutes,
- 4:36Speaker 2: We've got the Dungeons Toyota Indians begin in the state
- 4:40Speaker 2: tournament and Ada, I think be available on the radio KPGM,
- 4:46Speaker 2: KPGM at ten o'clock. So then you listen to the
- 4:49Speaker 2: Barzil team down in Ada. They've had a good season.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I'm so proud of the team. It was a tough
- 4:56Speaker 2: season in some ways. They played a lot of older players,
- 5:01Speaker 2: but they've got a lot of pitching depth and really finished.
- 5:06Speaker 3: The season strong. Great.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I'm not sure what happened on the radio show last
- 5:12Speaker 2: week that there was a this is Romper, Roper Roper,
- 5:17Speaker 2: This is Roper, the Romp, Missus Roper Romp, Barcrawl, Jason
- 5:23Speaker 2: and the Shane and came in and this going out
- 5:27Speaker 2: of town has got to stop.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of fun heard, and that's Saturday nights.
- 5:34Speaker 3: There is a lot going on in Bartlesville.
- 5:37Speaker 2: We've also continued the hot pace of sales on our
- 5:40Speaker 2: new toyotas excited to say we've got I think it's
- 5:44Speaker 2: forty eight now either are an allocation or on the
- 5:47Speaker 2: ground or as I've been saying the last few months,
- 5:50Speaker 2: our inventory is growing. It's just kind of hard to
- 5:52Speaker 2: see because we keep turning the vehicles so fast and
- 5:55Speaker 2: we've got to keep doing that. Toyota just doesn't can't
- 5:59Speaker 2: seem to build enough vehicles to grow our supply. Demand
- 6:04Speaker 2: is too high, and you know that's a good problem
- 6:07Speaker 2: to have, I guess, and to have a vehicle that's
- 6:09Speaker 2: so popular you can't keep.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Them on the ground. They're flying off the lot.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Our sales are fast and we've been earning a lot
- 6:14Speaker 2: of inventory, a lot of great selection right now, really
- 6:18Speaker 2: cool stuff too. Like I saw we had a TRD
- 6:21Speaker 2: Tundra allocated to us in the last round, as well
- 6:24Speaker 2: as a TRD pro Sequahia. We've got a great selection
- 6:28Speaker 2: of Tacomas and Thunders, rab fours, everything you could think
- 6:33Speaker 2: of for runner Land Cruise or Cena GR eighty six,
- 6:37Speaker 2: Grand Highlander, Highlander and Corolla Camray of course, so all
- 6:43Speaker 2: the others. So it's great, great to have a good
- 6:45Speaker 2: selection at Toyota's for folks to choose from.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And we also.
- 6:50Speaker 2: This week there was a little bit of news on
- 6:52Speaker 2: the Tara front where the Japanese cars to it. Obviously
- 6:57Speaker 2: someone raded in Japan only about thirty or forty percent
- 7:00Speaker 2: of what we sell here in the US, but the
- 7:03Speaker 2: many are. The tariff situation at least is clarified a
- 7:07Speaker 2: little bit now, which I think is great for Toyota.
- 7:10Speaker 2: It's a little bit smaller than anticipated, and I think
- 7:13Speaker 2: that's going to allow for Toyota to just guess as
- 7:15Speaker 2: they have all along. They really didn't adjust pricing. They've
- 7:19Speaker 2: continued to build every vehicle and ship them as they
- 7:23Speaker 2: are in such great demand that it's it seems like
- 7:26Speaker 2: this is going to work out really well, and it
- 7:28Speaker 2: for us in Toyota in particular, I think is going
- 7:31Speaker 2: to be in good shape going into the rest of
- 7:33Speaker 2: the year and on into.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Twenty twenty six.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I keep hearing great things from our customers. You know,
- 7:41Speaker 2: they're telling us we're doing a decent job taking care
- 7:44Speaker 2: of folks out there. And it's been a good time
- 7:47Speaker 2: at the dealership these last few months.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Lots of good stuff going on.
- 7:50Speaker 2: So get back to the YP A little bit enough
- 7:53Speaker 2: car business. So the you know, I think a lot
- 7:58Speaker 2: of people don't know to say, oh, well that young,
- 8:02Speaker 2: I'm not young or professional, you know what. I think
- 8:06Speaker 2: that's one thing about what you guys do that a
- 8:09Speaker 2: lot of people don't really know what it is.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And you know, it isn't really an age.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Based organization so much, and you can really come from
- 8:17Speaker 2: any walk alive, and so tell us if people are
- 8:22Speaker 2: interested in it a little bit more about how to
- 8:25Speaker 2: become involved and the other.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Stuff you guys do regularly. I know the softball tournament
- 8:29Speaker 3: is coming up and we'll talk.
- 8:30Speaker 2: About that again, but there's lots of other stuff you
- 8:33Speaker 2: do that's you know, pretty much all the time.
- 8:37Speaker 5: So yeah, I think that's the biggest thing is everyone's like,
- 8:40Speaker 5: well I'm too old. So I think people age themselves
- 8:43Speaker 5: out of young professionals. Before we would ever say like
- 8:45Speaker 5: you can't come anymore, We would never do that, and
- 8:47Speaker 5: so we want the support, right and so I think
- 8:50Speaker 5: what we usually say is twenty one to forty is
- 8:54Speaker 5: what we gear our events towards. But that doesn't mean
- 8:57Speaker 5: if you're forty one or fifty five or whatever that
- 9:01Speaker 5: you can't come to our events.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And so we want to encourage that.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Matter of fact, Samy just did an event where we
- 9:08Speaker 5: ask mentors to come in with our young professionals and
- 9:12Speaker 5: have a coffee, and so there was a coffee event
- 9:14Speaker 5: went really well, and so we were just asking for
- 9:16Speaker 5: people that maybe have aged themselves out of young professionals
- 9:19Speaker 5: to come in and just be the mentors to these
- 9:21Speaker 5: young professionals, which is really cool.
- 9:24Speaker 4: And so no, there's no age barrier.
- 9:26Speaker 5: They're always welcome. But how to get involved is we
- 9:30Speaker 5: have a membership form that they can fill out, so
- 9:32Speaker 5: ypbville dot com and they can fill.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Out that form.
- 9:35Speaker 5: We have our own new websites brand new this year,
- 9:38Speaker 5: and so they can fill that out and then we
- 9:40Speaker 5: would have one of our live chairs reach out to
- 9:42Speaker 5: them and then just start coming to our events.
- 9:45Speaker 7: If you have.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Facebook, and you'll see a ton of stuff that Samy
- 9:49Speaker 5: is posting about what we're doing.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I think this month we have six.
- 9:52Speaker 6: We have six events in August events and there's a
- 9:55Speaker 6: lot of opportunities to get involved anywhere from social events
- 10:00Speaker 6: to volunteer opportunities, lunch and learn, and then of course
- 10:05Speaker 6: the softball tournament. But there's a wide variety, so then
- 10:07Speaker 6: you can kind of kind of just gauge like what
- 10:10Speaker 6: you're interested in. There's lots of options, so then there's
- 10:13Speaker 6: a little little excuse to not be involved with younger.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Well you also, again you probably don't have to do everything.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You can do the thing that fits.
- 10:23Speaker 3: For you, and then you know, kind of build it
- 10:25Speaker 3: around your when you have time available, and then you
- 10:28Speaker 3: know what your interests are.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And I think that's that's a really cool thing I've
- 10:31Speaker 2: always thought about.
- 10:32Speaker 3: It is you have such a broad spectrum of events
- 10:34Speaker 3: where the people.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Just want to, you know, go be social, go and
- 10:39Speaker 2: or if they want to go and volunteer or support
- 10:42Speaker 2: an organization, now play softball.
- 10:44Speaker 3: And I think you have a book club too.
- 10:47Speaker 4: We do. We're so excited.
- 10:49Speaker 5: So we're reading our third book and we've been meeting
- 10:51Speaker 5: at Mary gold So the new bookstore downtown, which has
- 10:55Speaker 5: been really fun.
- 10:56Speaker 4: And so we just finished our second one, our third one.
- 10:59Speaker 5: We're reading the four Wing and so we were reading
- 11:02Speaker 5: leadership books the first two and we're like, you know what,
- 11:05Speaker 5: we want something a little different, and so we're doing
- 11:07Speaker 5: the Fourth Wing. Now, anybody again can join. You do
- 11:11Speaker 5: have to read the book before you come to the meeting.
- 11:14Speaker 5: But if you don't If you don't read the book,
- 11:16Speaker 5: that's okay. Just understand that there might be a little
- 11:19Speaker 5: bit of spoiler alert when you get there. So so,
- 11:22Speaker 5: but it's been it's been really fun, just something different again,
- 11:25Speaker 5: very casual, but just really talking about the book and
- 11:28Speaker 5: what it meant to you. You know, a lot of
- 11:31Speaker 5: people listen to the book, maybe they read the book, maybe.
- 11:34Speaker 4: They have audio. It's just all the different things. So
- 11:36Speaker 4: it's been really it's been a good thing.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that's me. Long history of book clubs in Bartlesville.
- 11:43Speaker 2: My grandmother had was in one for decades here in
- 11:47Speaker 2: bartleszill and a lot of her old friends I still
- 11:50Speaker 2: know a lot of them were involved in different organizations
- 11:52Speaker 2: around town. This is way before YP but they they were.
- 11:57Speaker 2: They were kind of in that mold. I think my
- 12:00Speaker 2: grandmother first came to town. She had been an English
- 12:02Speaker 2: teacher and was passionate about books and that I love that.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't, so we don't meet every week.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I think like some typical book clubs are meeting like
- 12:12Speaker 5: every week and they're checking in this one.
- 12:14Speaker 4: We're just meeting once a month.
- 12:15Speaker 5: So it's not a huge commitment from you, and we
- 12:19Speaker 5: just asked that you read the book or at least
- 12:21Speaker 5: have an idea about it, and then you just come
- 12:23Speaker 5: once a month and we talk about it and then
- 12:25Speaker 5: we start the new book.
- 12:26Speaker 4: So well, yeah, great fun.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and then tonight we actually have a social happening,
- 12:32Speaker 5: So our socials are just really just come hang out,
- 12:35Speaker 5: maybe have a drink if you would prefer. Tonight it's
- 12:39Speaker 5: going to be at Crossing Second from four to six,
- 12:41Speaker 5: and so we're partnering with Phillip sixty six and Conago
- 12:44Speaker 5: and their new Hire network and they'll be coming and
- 12:48Speaker 5: enjoying us.
- 12:48Speaker 4: So we're excited about that. A crossing second, Yeah, a second.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So you can just show up there and find out,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you know, that'd be a great way to explore what
- 12:56Speaker 2: what is YP all about and meet you guys and
- 12:58Speaker 2: understand what's going on and get involved in this great organization.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Here in town.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And you guys are are also part of the Chamber,
- 13:07Speaker 2: right is that correct? H? So you're an offshoot of
- 13:11Speaker 2: that supported by them in that organization.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Yes, we sure are. Yes, it works.
- 13:16Speaker 2: And again you mentioned the website or Facebook Once again,
- 13:20Speaker 2: how do they if they're just interested in more information,
- 13:23Speaker 2: what's the best way.
- 13:24Speaker 3: To do that.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Yeah, So yepbville dot com is our website and so
- 13:28Speaker 5: they can go on there and check different things.
- 13:31Speaker 4: But as far as our events go.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Facebook is going to be the best place to do that.
- 13:35Speaker 5: If they go on yepb bil dot com and they
- 13:37Speaker 5: sign up as a member, which is free currently.
- 13:40Speaker 4: So once you fill out the form, you are a member.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Like you're in.
- 13:44Speaker 5: There's no approval process, you're in. And so once they
- 13:47Speaker 5: do that, then they'll start getting our newsletters. So every
- 13:49Speaker 5: month we try to send out a newsletter and so
- 13:52Speaker 5: they'll have information on our events, but also a very
- 13:55Speaker 5: easy link to click and add things to your calendar,
- 13:58Speaker 5: just different things like that. So you definitely want to
- 14:00Speaker 5: sign out if you want to know what's going on.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Right and I'm so excited to have some people with
- 14:06Speaker 2: the dealership maybe get involved. I've been talking to them
- 14:09Speaker 2: about that and so may.
- 14:11Speaker 5: You guys can put together a softball team. Wow, we
- 14:15Speaker 5: need the need the Dungeons Duneus stated, I mean we
- 14:18Speaker 5: need and we need to be there.
- 14:22Speaker 6: Is anybody who's not interested in being on a team.
- 14:25Speaker 6: We do also have a home run derby that is
- 14:28Speaker 6: separate from the tournament itself, so if you just want
- 14:30Speaker 6: to come and swing the bat a few times and
- 14:32Speaker 6: see if you can win some win some money.
- 14:35Speaker 3: When and where.
- 14:38Speaker 6: That one will be at Dungeons Stadium, five o'clock.
- 14:42Speaker 3: When is the tournament?
- 14:44Speaker 6: August night?
- 14:45Speaker 3: August night coming up here. We're just a couple of
- 14:48Speaker 3: weeks away.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Now, yeah, we're trying to find a cool you know, Chris.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Day, good luck with that. But yeah, I know, it's
- 15:00Speaker 2: We've been pretty lucky this summer really, oh the last
- 15:02Speaker 2: week or so it has been pretty warm, but.
- 15:05Speaker 3: It is summer this summer with all that rain we
- 15:09Speaker 3: had earlier. The grass is still grown. It's nice and green.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Oh boy growing, it's growing with big at some place
- 15:15Speaker 1: I don't notice that.
- 15:16Speaker 4: It'll be fun though.
- 15:17Speaker 5: We have a food truck coming to the actual tournament,
- 15:20Speaker 5: so again it'll be at our two off fields the
- 15:22Speaker 5: main tournament, so we'll have that, we'll have a beer tent, concessions,
- 15:26Speaker 5: all the things, which will be really exciting.
- 15:28Speaker 4: And then when we get.
- 15:29Speaker 5: To Dungeons, Trudy is actually going to be setting up
- 15:32Speaker 5: their truck and they're going to be giving away hot
- 15:34Speaker 5: dogs for us, which is great, and so that'll be
- 15:37Speaker 5: really fun. So if you just want to come watch
- 15:39Speaker 5: the championship game. We think it's going to be around
- 15:41Speaker 5: six thirty. Bear with us on the time. This is
- 15:43Speaker 5: our first one, so we think it's going to be
- 15:45Speaker 5: around six thirty.
- 15:46Speaker 4: But come and just watch the game.
- 15:48Speaker 5: If you're not going to be at the tournament or involved,
- 15:50Speaker 5: just come watch the championship game.
- 15:51Speaker 4: It'll be a great time one day and one day. Yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 4: we're going to try to get it all done, and
- 15:55Speaker 4: one day.
- 15:55Speaker 3: You're going to have Are the games going to be full?
- 15:58Speaker 3: How many innings? And what do you have a whole
- 16:01Speaker 3: is it just you?
- 16:01Speaker 4: Do you have a rule book?
- 16:02Speaker 5: Yes? I didn't bring that with me. But we're going
- 16:07Speaker 5: to try to play for sixty minutes.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Each game in the double elimination all right, double elimination.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Not like based on innings. It's a time yeah, time game.
- 16:19Speaker 5: But they'll finish their inning if if it's in the
- 16:22Speaker 5: final hour.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yes, cool, Yeah, that's that sounds like so much fun.
- 16:27Speaker 3: And so you said you have five teams already.
- 16:30Speaker 2: How many so you need to have at least nine
- 16:33Speaker 2: people to be on a team.
- 16:34Speaker 6: What's the Yeah, they do you have at least nine people?
- 16:39Speaker 6: We recommend anywhere from ten to fourteen. There again, in
- 16:43Speaker 6: the rules, there's some things like a certain amount of
- 16:45Speaker 6: girls you have to have on the field since it
- 16:47Speaker 6: is co ed, and but yeah, we got a lot
- 16:51Speaker 6: going on with the tournament.
- 16:52Speaker 4: It'll be fun, it'll be learning. We're learning a lot.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I actually thought that it was referees, not umpires, So
- 16:58Speaker 5: I'm learning.
- 16:58Speaker 4: A lot about softball. But it's going to be great.
- 17:02Speaker 5: I'm not playing, don't worry are you?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Were you a softball player?
- 17:08Speaker 6: I have played softball in the past.
- 17:11Speaker 4: But a little bit of a spoiler.
- 17:13Speaker 6: We do have some fun corporates here in town who
- 17:17Speaker 6: have signed up and have teams, so that could be
- 17:20Speaker 6: that could be fun. There's quite a few, quite a
- 17:23Speaker 6: few businesses here that have built teams. So yeah, that'll
- 17:26Speaker 6: be a good time.
- 17:27Speaker 3: There's certainly a.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Lot of good softball players in our community, so then
- 17:30Speaker 2: would think they would some of them would maybe not
- 17:34Speaker 2: playing anymore, maybe want to get back into it a lot.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Yeah it's no fun.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Sure, yeah, it's a fun time. You know, we were
- 17:42Speaker 5: actually talking, so it was you that had said so.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Sammy was mentioning that she played in the tournament, and
- 17:47Speaker 5: there was these older ladies that played and they brought
- 17:50Speaker 5: their lawn chairs out and sat in each position and
- 17:54Speaker 5: they like played softball, which I thought was so fun.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I'm like that I could do that. I could actually
- 17:59Speaker 5: play in that way. So anyways, we'd even welcome one
- 18:01Speaker 5: of those teams if we had some.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Well, and when it's for a good cause, just go
- 18:05Speaker 6: out and have fun. I mean, yeah, who ultimately wins
- 18:08Speaker 6: will get money, but that's to go towards their nonprofit
- 18:12Speaker 6: of choice. So we're just out there just trying to
- 18:13Speaker 6: raise money for the community but also bring the community together.
- 18:17Speaker 3: How much is it to be to register a team.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Or two and fifty dollars?
- 18:21Speaker 2: Okay, and you mentioned sponsorships are those?
- 18:24Speaker 5: We do have three different levels. We have a two
- 18:28Speaker 5: hundred and fifty dollars level, a five hundred dollars level,
- 18:30Speaker 5: and one thousand dollars level, and we do have some available.
- 18:33Speaker 4: So we're welcome to sponsorships.
- 18:35Speaker 5: And again that one the easiest way for that if
- 18:38Speaker 5: you are interested, is to email Wipe Bartlesville at gmail
- 18:42Speaker 5: dot com, or you can go on our Facebook page
- 18:45Speaker 5: and send us a quick message, or if you know
- 18:47Speaker 5: cmor you can send us a message as well.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Great.
- 18:50Speaker 2: That sounds like so much fun. Maybe we could get
- 18:53Speaker 2: the missus roper folks to.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Have Oh here you go.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Oh that good?
- 19:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that sounds like a really great idea to me.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Actually anyway, So let's I.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Want to go back into the car stuff for just
- 19:16Speaker 2: a minute longer. We do have some cool stuff we're
- 19:19Speaker 2: doing around the dealership. We just in the last couple
- 19:21Speaker 2: of weeks we launched a new uh uh it really
- 19:25Speaker 2: it's a web web appointment system allows you to schedule
- 19:30Speaker 2: your service appointments a little bit easier. But the cool
- 19:33Speaker 2: part about it is it now ties into our system
- 19:37Speaker 2: that which we do all of.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Our repair order work.
- 19:40Speaker 2: It used to kind of sit as on the outside
- 19:42Speaker 2: as a kind of a Bolton product that we you know,
- 19:46Speaker 2: we had to do a lot of re entry of
- 19:48Speaker 2: it into our system. Now they're seamlessly integrated. So you
- 19:52Speaker 2: schedule your appointment, we know what you know. If you've
- 19:55Speaker 2: been servicing with us, we know you know what you're needing.
- 19:59Speaker 2: We can if we have parts connected to that service,
- 20:03Speaker 2: so the dispatch happens of your work much quicker. It's
- 20:07Speaker 2: really design and we can also use that same system
- 20:10Speaker 2: to communicate with our customers.
- 20:12Speaker 3: It has ways to.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Text and email and call, but also send photographs and
- 20:17Speaker 2: video of your vehicle if there's something we need to
- 20:20Speaker 2: show you. If you're not and here's you're back at
- 20:23Speaker 2: work and we need to show you something on the vehicle.
- 20:26Speaker 2: We've also worked in the last couple of weeks to
- 20:29Speaker 2: put a new what's known in our industry as a
- 20:32Speaker 2: digital retailing system on our website. This is something I've
- 20:36Speaker 2: been working on for a couple of decades. Really not
- 20:40Speaker 2: that people buy cars on the web, but they do
- 20:43Speaker 2: like to go in and answer their simple questions about
- 20:46Speaker 2: what it costs and what's the payment, and what are
- 20:48Speaker 2: the incentives and what if I do this or that?
- 20:51Speaker 3: And you know, you used to have to go in and.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Spend all that time with a salesman and the sales manager.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Do they do their calculations or whatever they're.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Doing, Well, they're up and walking back and forth. And
- 21:02Speaker 3: now you can do.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Almost all of that on your own at you sitting
- 21:05Speaker 2: on your couch or at work, and or you can
- 21:08Speaker 2: come in and do it with us and we actually
- 21:10Speaker 2: use that Will you be using that tool in the
- 21:13Speaker 2: store too, So it's on the website, it's in the store.
- 21:16Speaker 2: What's cool is you can go and do a lot
- 21:19Speaker 2: of that preliminary work and then come come in and
- 21:22Speaker 2: you've saved so much time that we used to have
- 21:25Speaker 2: to spend collecting information entering it in there your credit app,
- 21:30Speaker 2: you know your name, all the information about your trade
- 21:33Speaker 2: and what you want, and that way, when you come in,
- 21:35Speaker 2: it's as simple as a test drive, understand getting answering
- 21:40Speaker 2: your questions about your vehicle and moving forward, you know.
- 21:44Speaker 2: So it's a really trying to make that sales process
- 21:48Speaker 2: simpler and more transparent, easier for the customer, and faster.
- 21:53Speaker 3: That's obviously time.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Is so critical to people these days, and you know
- 21:58Speaker 2: that whole customer experience.
- 22:00Speaker 3: This is what we focus on. It done just and
- 22:02Speaker 3: trying to build that.
- 22:05Speaker 2: You know, so that people are really it's about trust
- 22:08Speaker 2: and really in our business, I think that's the key thing,
- 22:12Speaker 2: and our team really focus on that. Our non commissioned
- 22:16Speaker 2: sales professionals really take that to heart. They want to
- 22:20Speaker 2: serve people and make it a fast, transparent, feel good
- 22:24Speaker 2: experience when you buy your mixed car from us. And
- 22:28Speaker 2: we do have some great deals going now at the
- 22:30Speaker 2: end of the month on our toyotas.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I've told some of the incentives here.
- 22:35Speaker 2: We still got one point nine percent for up to
- 22:37Speaker 2: seventy two months on the Tundra, and Tacoma also has
- 22:43Speaker 2: a great lease on it because of Tacoma's incredible resale
- 22:46Speaker 2: value what they call a residual value in leasing.
- 22:51Speaker 3: It just leases really well.
- 22:53Speaker 2: You can lease one for two hundred and fifty nine
- 22:56Speaker 2: dollars a month for thirty six months.
- 22:58Speaker 3: That is an incredibly low payment.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And and you know so and a lot of Toyotas
- 23:03Speaker 2: are like that.
- 23:04Speaker 3: We've got Corolla at.
- 23:05Speaker 2: One ninety nine a month, and and so come check
- 23:09Speaker 2: it out.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I mean, not everybody's going to lease their vehicle, but.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It is something to look at in an alternative in
- 23:13Speaker 2: today's environment where we've all been faced with increasing costs
- 23:18Speaker 2: of everything, and and uh, you know, I think interest
- 23:21Speaker 2: rates are still just a little bit higher than then
- 23:24Speaker 2: most people would like. And you got used to a
- 23:26Speaker 2: few years ago a lot of zero percent interest rate
- 23:29Speaker 2: incentives and stuff, but you know that that's not not
- 23:34Speaker 2: out there right now. Typically, some some the manufacturers have them,
- 23:37Speaker 2: but you know, Toyota really doesn't do a lot of
- 23:40Speaker 2: heavy incentives on their vehicles, and that's one reason why
- 23:43Speaker 2: they retain their value so well as they they really
- 23:47Speaker 2: uh they're they're there. They're built so well, and they
- 23:52Speaker 2: last along and they perform to people's expectations, give you
- 23:56Speaker 2: a great economy of uh and service through the lifetime
- 24:00Speaker 2: and you know, so it just works out great on
- 24:03Speaker 2: a long term value perspective, costs per mile and for
- 24:07Speaker 2: the total ownership of the vehicle, and then you get
- 24:09Speaker 2: the most out of it when you're done with it too.
- 24:12Speaker 2: So anyway, the other stuff go, I don't know, let's
- 24:16Speaker 2: remind people about the events you guys have going on.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Starting tonight.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Hey, tonight, we are crossing second four to six. It'll
- 24:23Speaker 5: just be a social happy hour. Come and go if
- 24:26Speaker 5: you'd like, can't be there at four, don't get off
- 24:27Speaker 5: till five, that's completely okay, come after that. And then
- 24:31Speaker 5: starting now, we have packed the backpacks and so we
- 24:35Speaker 5: are just helping with that, and so we have a
- 24:37Speaker 5: sign up genius on our Facebook page that you can
- 24:40Speaker 5: sign up for pack the backpacks. August seventh, we're also
- 24:43Speaker 5: going to be at Mary Martha's, so we're gonna they
- 24:45Speaker 5: give a school outfit to people in need that sign up,
- 24:50Speaker 5: and so we help sort those for the kiddos before
- 24:53Speaker 5: school starts, and so that'll be August seventh. Again, there's
- 24:56Speaker 5: a sign up genius out there August ninth or softball tournament.
- 25:00Speaker 4: We're going to see you Brad there, I think, so okay, okay.
- 25:03Speaker 5: And then and then August twenty second, we have Rena
- 25:07Speaker 5: Cook coming. She is a speaker and she is going
- 25:11Speaker 5: to teach us how to speak in public places and
- 25:14Speaker 5: in front of people. And so she was great last year,
- 25:17Speaker 5: sold out, yes, and so she'll be there. And then
- 25:20Speaker 5: August twenty eighth we'll have a social with Triple A actually,
- 25:24Speaker 5: so they're going to give away some luggage and that's
- 25:27Speaker 5: going to be at five pm at their facility downtown.
- 25:31Speaker 4: And so again just show up and be there and excited.
- 25:35Speaker 3: How much stuff going on?
- 25:36Speaker 4: So much such couple weeks. Yeah, I know, I know,
- 25:39Speaker 4: I know, what were we thinking? Six events in one month?
- 25:42Speaker 4: But yes, it's going to be it's going to be good.
- 25:44Speaker 5: And I will note really quickly, I know it's not August,
- 25:47Speaker 5: but September fifth, we actually have Lourie Fulbright coming.
- 25:50Speaker 4: We're going to be in the Truity Basement and she's
- 25:52Speaker 4: going to actually talk about fraud. But for young.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Professionals, So they're actually switching from older individuals to young
- 26:00Speaker 5: professionals on the fraud and so she's going to talk
- 26:02Speaker 5: to us about that and what that change looks like.
- 26:04Speaker 4: And so I'm really excited. That's a free event.
- 26:06Speaker 2: So you always have such interesting events and there's so
- 26:11Speaker 2: much going on at yp I'm so glad I got
- 26:13Speaker 2: you guys to come in this week and thanks Ina,
- 26:16Speaker 2: thank you for coming. It's it's been a pleasure to
- 26:18Speaker 2: get to know you more and to hear about what's
- 26:21Speaker 2: going on. And I want to remind people today is
- 26:24Speaker 2: just in a few minutes, the Indians.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Will kick off their state tournament run.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Hopefully they'll do very well in Ada, and so at
- 26:32Speaker 2: ten o'clock and we'll have that game on what station.
- 26:35Speaker 1: We'll be on KPGM ninety nine point one and AM fifteen.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Hundred and later this morning we'll head out to the
- 26:42Speaker 2: Lighthouse Outreach Center for the I had no idea lunch
- 26:45Speaker 2: and tour and this evening be out at the Green
- 26:47Speaker 2: Country Rodeo and all weekend, So if you can get
- 26:50Speaker 2: out check out that rodeo.
- 26:52Speaker 3: It is so much fun and it's a great event.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Forty fourth annual. And you know what's so cool.
- 26:58Speaker 2: About this is it's it's it's a true community event
- 27:02Speaker 2: and it's just a grassroots thing and it's it's it's
- 27:05Speaker 2: they have a lot of fun. But it also gets
- 27:08Speaker 2: real rodeo guys out there and it's a lot of fun,
- 27:13Speaker 2: great great time. So as always, there's lots of stuff
- 27:16Speaker 2: going on in Barlowsville and out at Dungeons and so.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Come check us out. All right, where can we find you,
- 27:22Speaker 3: Brad Well.
- 27:23Speaker 2: We're on the Highway seventy five out of nineteen eleven

- 27:45Speaker 2: joining us this week. And good luck and try to
- 27:48Speaker 2: stay cool in the softball tournament and get plenty of
- 27:52Speaker 2: sleep with all the events going.
- 27:54Speaker 3: YEA, drink lots of water.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I guess that rest will be coming at a premium. Folks,

- 28:23Speaker 8: A week front will approach the northwestern sections of the
- 28:26Speaker 8: listening area, and a couple of thunder storms will be
- 28:29Speaker 8: likely in those regions. A few of these could float
- 28:31Speaker 8: down into portions of Osh County, Washington County, Levette, Chautauqua County,
- 28:36Speaker 8: Kansas late this evening into early tomorrow morning. Then this
- 28:40Speaker 8: weekend hot and humid weather also mid to upper nineties

- 28:47Speaker 8: he's on six is Allen Crome.
- 28:49Speaker 7: Extinction is forever. To save America's most iconic and imperiled
- 28:55Speaker 7: species from extinction, we must fight for their future. Fight
- 29:01Speaker 7: to save the natural lands that wild life go home,
- 29:05Speaker 7: Fight to limit pollution, fight for smart development, fight for
- 29:10Speaker 7: their future, and fight for ours. For so goes nature,
- 29:15Speaker 7: so goes us.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Kids today live in a world full of social pressure, bullying,
- 29:21Speaker 3: and substance abuse.
- 29:23Speaker 7: Lead has a solution lead connects law enforcement agencies with
- 29:27Speaker 7: schools to deliver tested, proven, and effective anti drugs and
- 29:31Speaker 7: violence training to kids.
