- 0:21Speaker 1: today we have our, our, well, engineer normally but now
- 0:27Speaker 1: our guest carlos rodriguez hey what's.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Happening we're in the house chilling i'm trying to uh
- 0:38Speaker 2: i'm trying to multitask and this is and for add
- 0:41Speaker 2: persons is uh kind of tough yeah he's got it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: He's got it uh so for those of you that
- 0:46Speaker 1: don't know carlos huge niners fan clearly.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'll fucking murder you.
- 0:57Speaker 1: It wasn't until you started I was like, do you
- 1:01Speaker 1: have more Raider stuff?
- 1:02Speaker 3: That was perfect. The hat too?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Of course it is.
- 1:07Speaker 3: This is a cool ass hat because it has the
- 1:12Speaker 3: little eyes are Raider symbols.
- 1:14Speaker 1: That is actually pretty cool.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Take a tie.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah. If you know anything about Carlos, you
- 1:24Speaker 1: know he's a Raider fan. Even when he hates the Raiders,
- 1:27Speaker 1: because all Raider fans hate the Raiders, he's still a
- 1:30Speaker 1: Raider fan.
- 1:31Speaker 3: All day. It's troubling. But that means I'm super loyal,
- 1:35Speaker 3: so my wife knows. My wife knows. Ain't nobody going nowhere.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. I won't call her what I normally call her
- 1:43Speaker 1: because I don't want everybody to call her that.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:49Speaker 1: That's just for me and Carlos. Carlos sent me her number,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and it was saved as what he calls her, which
- 1:57Speaker 1: is a very cute little pep name. And so then
- 2:00Speaker 1: when I talked to her, I called her that, and
- 2:01Speaker 1: she was like, wait, what? And I was like, well,
- 2:03Speaker 1: that's how you're saved in my phone now. Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 3: But we're not going to.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's very cute.
- 2:10Speaker 3: That's so funny. And she's the one that told me
- 2:12Speaker 3: that she was like, cause she, she made a joke
- 2:14Speaker 3: and said, that's what they called me in high school.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And I was like, Oh, okay.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So really we're just reliving her trauma for her every
- 2:22Speaker 1: time we talk to her. Perfect.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I love that.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Well, how you been? How you doing?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Doing good. Just got back from Sacramento. I was over
- 2:31Speaker 3: there hanging out with you two for my brother's 40th birthday.
- 2:34Speaker 3: He's 40 now.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Oh, yes. I know your little brother, so that makes you.
- 2:40Speaker 3: We didn't have to give all that information out.
- 2:42Speaker 1: They didn't know. Well, I mean, I didn't say your
- 2:45Speaker 1: little funnier. According to him, he writes all your material.
- 2:50Speaker 3: He writes all my shit, he says, all the time, 24-7.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I told him, too. I was like, Yeah, you guys
- 2:56Speaker 3: like my shit? You guys like my stuff that he says?
- 2:58Speaker 3: I told him, I go, bitch, I wish you would
- 3:00Speaker 3: write a joke. I wish you would take some fucking
- 3:02Speaker 3: responsibility off my plate.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You guys are actually, to see the two of you interact,
- 3:08Speaker 1: so we had talked about, you know, Carlos is a
- 3:10Speaker 1: huge movie buff, too. We had talked about The Accountant
- 3:14Speaker 1: 2 and how much we liked that movie, and I
- 3:17Speaker 1: think that Carlos liked it even more because it's brothers.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It's two brothers, and Just the repertoire between them, it
- 3:24Speaker 1: does remind me of you and Marcos. Just a little
- 3:26Speaker 1: bit of shit talking, a little bit of ribbing, and
- 3:28Speaker 1: a whole lot of love.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my brother, man. And it's funny because we
- 3:34Speaker 3: always say that. We always go, that's my brother, man.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I can't fight my brother. Because there's a movie called Half-Baked.
- 3:41Speaker 3: You ever see Half-Baked? Uh-uh. In Half-Baked, there's this part
- 3:47Speaker 3: where Jim Brewer is recanting a story of of the
- 3:52Speaker 3: dog that they had because they come back home and
- 3:54Speaker 3: the dog is dead. And then he was like, man,
- 3:56Speaker 3: you got to think about killer as, as not just
- 3:58Speaker 3: the dog, but like killer is like the person that like,
- 4:01Speaker 3: like his whole backstory. And he goes off and he
- 4:03Speaker 3: starts talking about how killer was a, was a fighter.
- 4:06Speaker 3: You know, he's, he was born to a three legged
- 4:08Speaker 3: bitch of a mother. And then he was like, he
- 4:13Speaker 3: was like, he was a fighter and he was a
- 4:14Speaker 3: good dog fighter. And then one day, They brought out
- 4:17Speaker 3: his nimbus, like the bigger dog, and it was his
- 4:20Speaker 3: brother Nibbles. And he goes, man, I can't fight Nibbles.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I can't fight Nibbles. That's my brother, man.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's funny. Yeah, because you guys say that all the time.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like the running joke. That's my brother, man.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And there's so much love, so much love. I still
- 4:39Speaker 1: want to see the picture. I want you guys to
- 4:41Speaker 1: get the picture that your mom took with her and
- 4:43Speaker 1: your dad. Oh, yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Oh, she did. Did you see it?
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's such a good picture. Yeah. She showed it, but
- 4:49Speaker 1: she's like, I ain't sending it to nobody.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that was so funny. I didn't think that was
- 4:52Speaker 3: going to happen. They do not get along.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You know what? I think once you have your kids
- 5:00Speaker 1: hit 40.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to start burying.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you just got to bury it and be like,
- 5:05Speaker 1: you know what? Our kids are all right. It's all right. Whatever.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It worked out. It worked out.
- 5:10Speaker 3: It was actually like, cause that was like the first
- 5:12Speaker 3: surprise party or anything that, cause like, you know, we didn't,
- 5:15Speaker 3: we didn't really grow up with having parties and stuff
- 5:17Speaker 3: like that. So it was pretty interesting to have a
- 5:19Speaker 3: surprise party finally for the first time at like 40.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Like we did a lot of like, a lot of
- 5:23Speaker 3: like normal people shit later on in life. Like I
- 5:25Speaker 3: remember we went to Disneyland for the first time when
- 5:29Speaker 3: we were, when I was like, I was, I think
- 5:31Speaker 3: I was 34 and I was like, we should go.
- 5:33Speaker 3: And he was like, yeah, let's go, man. We got money.
- 5:36Speaker 3: We could go check it out. And then, um, so
- 5:38Speaker 3: we did, but it was just interesting.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Just the two of you as adults?
- 5:41Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what's hella funny, too, is we took
- 5:44Speaker 3: my dad. Yeah. We go, come on. You want to go?
- 5:47Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, let's go. And he ended up– he
- 5:50Speaker 3: didn't even go. He didn't go in, though. He was like,
- 5:52Speaker 3: I'm going to stay in the hotel room. I'm going
- 5:53Speaker 3: to kick you here. And then he wanted to go
- 5:56Speaker 3: home hella bad, hella fast. And I was like, well,
- 5:59Speaker 3: bounce then. Like, get out of here. Go. And I
- 6:01Speaker 3: was like, you're an adult. You don't have to stick around.
- 6:03Speaker 3: It's not like you stuck around when we were kids. Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Your dad's your dad's a character too and i love
- 6:13Speaker 1: when you i love when you do your dad as
- 6:15Speaker 1: a character on stage because it's real if you meet
- 6:17Speaker 1: carlos's dad and you see carlos do this joke on
- 6:20Speaker 1: stage where he's talking like his dad it's the same
- 6:22Speaker 1: it's he's got a spot.
- 6:24Speaker 3: On it's funny because it's like yeah people are like
- 6:27Speaker 3: i'll do it and i'll be like it's a real
- 6:29Speaker 3: it's a real dude like i'm not bullshitting like go
- 6:31Speaker 3: on my instagram and you'll see him and then then
- 6:33Speaker 3: people will help people comment or they'll hit me in
- 6:36Speaker 3: the inbox and you're like dude that is that is
- 6:38Speaker 3: spot on like i don't even know this guy and
- 6:40Speaker 3: it just it's right there yeah he's a character he
- 6:43Speaker 3: don't even mean to be funny he's just being real
- 6:45Speaker 3: as fuck he's like boy i don't fucking i don't
- 6:47Speaker 3: fucking fuck around all this bullshit and i'm like what
- 6:49Speaker 3: did you say oh.
- 6:51Speaker 1: The best was when the best was when you were
- 6:52Speaker 1: trying to get him an uber and he's like no
- 6:55Speaker 1: you're gonna give me a ride you ain't sending me
- 6:56Speaker 1: an uber.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah. He was like, fucking punk, you wouldn't send your
- 7:01Speaker 3: mom home in an Uber? And I go, fuck, yeah,
- 7:03Speaker 3: I would. He was like, you fucking lying bitch. And
- 7:05Speaker 3: I was like, he's so funny. What else did he
- 7:10Speaker 3: do too? Oh, because during COVID, I remember having him,
- 7:14Speaker 3: I had him review movies. Okay. And then it would
- 7:20Speaker 3: be like, what's this movie about? After we get done
- 7:23Speaker 3: watching it, because he was always falling asleep. And then I...
- 7:26Speaker 3: He goes, this one motherfucker, he jumped over the border,
- 7:30Speaker 3: and now he's trying to find his friends, and they
- 7:32Speaker 3: don't fucking know. And they got powers or some stupid shit.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And the guy got his claws. Stupid ass, pretty cool shit.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And then I would put it under the bottom of it.
- 7:46Speaker 3: At the end, I'd go, Logan.
- 7:47Speaker 1: What movie it was.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 1: That's hilarious. So fun.
- 7:54Speaker 3: He's goofy. He's goofy. But yeah, no, it turned out pretty,
- 7:57Speaker 3: pretty well. Like the, especially lying to my brother about
- 8:00Speaker 3: like what we were doing, like trying to hide the surprise.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I know when you said, I know. And when you're
- 8:08Speaker 1: trying to leave the house and he's like, wait, where
- 8:09Speaker 1: are you going? Why are you leaving?
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's like you had to break his heart to surprise him.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah. He was like, I went to the room and
- 8:18Speaker 3: I saw your bags were gone. Where are you going?
- 8:21Speaker 3: And I go, I'm, I'm not going anywhere. I'm just
- 8:23Speaker 3: going to, I'm going to go see mom, but you know,
- 8:25Speaker 3: we have, might have to change our clothes. I was
- 8:28Speaker 3: hella trying to figure out things to lie to him about,
- 8:29Speaker 3: but he was like, are you, so you're, so you're
- 8:31Speaker 3: coming back, right? I go, yeah, I'm coming back. He
- 8:34Speaker 3: was all buttered.
- 8:36Speaker 1: That's fun though. That's it. It's fun. You guys are
- 8:41Speaker 1: so cute. It's so funny together. Like, I don't care
- 8:44Speaker 1: if he wrote your material or not. But it's always
- 8:50Speaker 1: what he says.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I used one joke that he wrote. It wasn't even
- 8:55Speaker 3: him that wrote it. It was his friend that passed away.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And I had used one thing that they had, like,
- 9:01Speaker 3: said on stage. And I don't even use it. It's
- 9:03Speaker 3: kind of, like, seasonal. And I was like, I just
- 9:06Speaker 3: flippantly said it at a show that he was at.
- 9:09Speaker 3: And he was like, oh, fuck, I'll rewrite your shit.
- 9:11Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, bitch. And the, uh, um, the
- 9:13Speaker 3: joke was, or the, the, the flippant thought was, um,
- 9:17Speaker 3: it goes, uh, you, usually you say it like in
- 9:19Speaker 3: June or July, you know, like, yeah, man, that's been
- 9:22Speaker 3: the last, you know, while you're trying to work on
- 9:24Speaker 3: my summer body. And I just realized it's summer's here,
- 9:26Speaker 3: you know, like I failed.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Which, which isn't even a joke. It's just a, it's
- 9:34Speaker 1: a throwaway comment. Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 3: It's just a throwaway comment. It was just like, and
- 9:37Speaker 3: it was just one of the, like a flippant little,
- 9:39Speaker 3: whatever the heck, you know, uh, To get to the
- 9:42Speaker 3: next thought really quick, you know, just something silly to say.
- 9:44Speaker 3: And he was like, oh, I was like, there's not
- 9:46Speaker 3: even a hitter. Like, fuck. It's not even a developed idea.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah, your whole career is based on his joke now.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Based on his, flipping ass non-premise. You know what's funny?
- 9:59Speaker 3: There'll be comics that really think that's a joke. They're like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 3: that's a good joke. That's not a joke.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, I think we should talk about it because I
- 10:10Speaker 1: give you credit. I roll my eyes when I do
- 10:12Speaker 1: it and I talk about how I got bullied when
- 10:17Speaker 1: I do it. but I do tell everybody that Carlos
- 10:21Speaker 1: Rodriguez is the reason the stage got moved at laughs unlimited.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Hold on. You have to go back to go back
- 10:29Speaker 1: to me. So I can roll my eyes when I
- 10:30Speaker 1: say it. Hold on. Switch. Every time.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Almost fell asleep. I know. Almost passed out.
- 10:39Speaker 1: That's, One day they're going to get stuck. I know.
- 10:41Speaker 1: My mom told me because that's how hard I roll
- 10:44Speaker 1: my eyes every time I go, fucking Carlos. That's how
- 10:46Speaker 1: it goes. I go, fucking Carlos. He's the reason it moved.
- 10:49Speaker 3: That shit was so funny. That was.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Carlos almost ruined a friendship to get that stage moved.
- 10:57Speaker 1: That was so bad.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah. You were like, you very were like, like, it
- 11:01Speaker 3: wasn't even like no more jokes. It wasn't like, oh,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm going to try to crack a smile. And she's like, no, no. No.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I was pissed. Well, I do have some people think
- 11:10Speaker 1: that I'm mean, but nobody's ever really seen me like mad.
- 11:16Speaker 1: And I usually I just get quiet because mad mad
- 11:20Speaker 1: is something nobody wants to see. And so I just
- 11:23Speaker 1: walked away from you guys. I was like, nope. And
- 11:26Speaker 1: my default answer is no anyway. So I was like,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I'm done talking about it. And then, you know, after
- 11:32Speaker 1: a while I thought about it and I was like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I mean, he's not wrong.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It was funny to get the call randomly.
- 11:43Speaker 1: When we were, because we went to Throckmorton and we're
- 11:46Speaker 1: talking about in the car and I was like, all right,
- 11:48Speaker 1: if we do this.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah. And my paramour was in the car too, right?
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I'll do a fundraiser. I'll do a fundraiser to
- 11:55Speaker 1: get it. I know. And you tried to start, listen, Mike,
- 11:59Speaker 1: imagine it. And I go, don't try to get another
- 12:01Speaker 1: one on your side. That's not, that's not going to
- 12:03Speaker 1: help you. I'm going to need another comic chirping at
- 12:08Speaker 1: me about, oh, that is a great idea.
- 12:10Speaker 3: But he did. After a while, he goes, you know what?
- 12:13Speaker 3: That does make a lot of sense. Slow talker. That's
- 12:19Speaker 3: so funny.
- 12:20Speaker 1: But it has worked out. And people do love the setup.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And it is a better customer experience.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Blah, blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I know. I can't say it 100% with sincerity. I
- 12:33Speaker 1: have to say it.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Like that yeah it's fun man it's it's it's fun
- 12:39Speaker 3: to the like yeah you get to fuck around on
- 12:40Speaker 3: all sides of the club and stuff like that because
- 12:42Speaker 3: i remember i would i felt like i would i
- 12:43Speaker 3: would i would leave out some people um with like
- 12:46Speaker 3: the baseball diamonds shape of it but uh yeah so the.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Club was in the corner and it was a very
- 12:51Speaker 1: long room so we and we actually have a lot
- 12:54Speaker 1: more problems in the back because people weren't as invested
- 12:59Speaker 1: in it because they weren't in it. They were so
- 13:01Speaker 1: far away from the stage and so far away from
- 13:03Speaker 1: what was happening that it just, they weren't, they didn't
- 13:08Speaker 1: feel that they were at a show, you know, in it. Right. Yeah. So,
- 13:11Speaker 1: so now it's just like, yeah, you can hit all
- 13:14Speaker 1: points of the room with it on the side. And,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and it is a, it is a better customer experience. I,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I just liked the uniqueness of the stage.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you're welcome. Oh, look at Ben. I have
- 13:27Speaker 3: a t-shirt guy.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Anyways. Now that that's officially on record, I guess.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I know. That's what's up. I'm going to clip this
- 13:38Speaker 3: and keep it and bust it out.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm going to keep rolling my eyes every time, too.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Just like this.
- 13:44Speaker 3: How was your weekend this weekend, though, too? Because, I mean,
- 13:48Speaker 3: you still came to the surprise birthday party.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I'm sorry, my phone's going off. I'm so unprofessional.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. Get it together. It's not like we
- 13:58Speaker 1: haven't been podcasting today.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a great weekend. And, you know, the
- 14:03Speaker 1: weather's starting to be nice. People are getting out. You know,
- 14:08Speaker 1: it's going to be fun. It's going to be a
- 14:10Speaker 1: good weekend. We've got comedy every weekend. And it's so funny.
- 14:14Speaker 1: People are like, you know, I wouldn't even have remembered
- 14:17Speaker 1: that it was you in two weeks. And I enjoy,
- 14:20Speaker 1: it's not that I don't enjoy the people that are
- 14:22Speaker 1: coming up. It's just that I'm usually promoting and working
- 14:25Speaker 1: so far ahead that I was like, Oh shit, it's Carlos.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Like this can be a good weekend. Hell yeah. That's yeah. Yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 1: It's going to be fun. We're going to hang out. Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I mean, I don't, I don't have people that I
- 14:37Speaker 1: don't like, but there are definitely comics that you have
- 14:41Speaker 1: more fun with, you know, like there's comics that come
- 14:44Speaker 1: and do a great job and, and there's, it's, it's cool.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And then there's comics that, like, we always kick it.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah. We always kick it. We're always having a good time.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And I always end up showing up to the club, like,
- 14:55Speaker 3: fucking three hours ahead of time just to hang. Right.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And we got, like, for my weekend, it's pretty cool
- 15:03Speaker 3: because Heather Keith, who I met on the road working
- 15:06Speaker 3: with Christina Miriani, she's dope. She's super funny. She's got
- 15:12Speaker 3: a funny sense of humor where it's, I like to
- 15:15Speaker 3: hear how her day went type of shit.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, that's how funny she is to me,
- 15:20Speaker 3: because she's like, oh, this guy was, you know, trying
- 15:23Speaker 3: to pick up on me, but I'm like, why? You know,
- 15:26Speaker 3: just kind of.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And then, and of course, Daniel Betts, who also, yeah, solid,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and he owns the Well Comedy Club that came back,
- 15:38Speaker 3: I guess, or relocated, I guess you could say, right?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Okay, yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Yeah, because now it's in downtown, it's Fresno, right, or Bakersfield, right?
- 15:47Speaker 3: It's Bakersfield.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I think it's Bakersfield.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. So they just reopened or ran reopened, I think,
- 15:54Speaker 3: last month. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I was trying to
- 15:58Speaker 3: get him to come out with me to El Paso.
- 15:59Speaker 3: And he was like, dude, I would, but I'm busy.
- 16:01Speaker 3: It's super busy. I was like, okay, no worries, no worries.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I can't imagine running a club and trying to do
- 16:08Speaker 1: comedy on the road. That's crazy.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. That's nuts. Dude, I'm only doing this
- 16:15Speaker 3: and I'm podcasting and performing and it's fucking nuts.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Right. I promise after this that Carlos is going to
- 16:23Speaker 1: take a nap.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Oh, for sure.
- 16:24Speaker 1: He's going to be like, that was a full three
- 16:26Speaker 1: days work. We've been at this for an hour and
- 16:29Speaker 1: a half. I'm like, fuck.
- 16:30Speaker 3: That was....
- 16:36Speaker 1: That was difficult. I got to go take a nap now.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I'm telling you. I love a nap. I was getting
- 16:41Speaker 3: shit on by one of my features when I was
- 16:45Speaker 3: on the road. And I was like, yeah, dude, I
- 16:46Speaker 3: got to nap, bro. He was like, what are you
- 16:48Speaker 3: napping for? My kids nap. I was like, well, you'll
- 16:52Speaker 3: learn when you have to do a lot of time.
- 16:56Speaker 3: And it's funny because Jay naps too. I nap. You
- 16:59Speaker 3: nap too? You nap?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I have a– well– I try to nap, but I
- 17:04Speaker 1: have a reminder set on my phone to nap because
- 17:07Speaker 1: I do so much work at the house. And, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I take my kid to school and I get straight
- 17:11Speaker 1: to work and then I work all day and then
- 17:13Speaker 1: I pick her up and then I go to work.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So I'm at the club and I was like, why
- 17:17Speaker 1: am I so irritable at night? It's like, well, you've
- 17:20Speaker 1: been working since 8 a.m.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Maybe you should take a nap. So I have my
- 17:25Speaker 1: phone will go off from 2 to 3.30. That's my
- 17:28Speaker 1: nap time every day.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Oh, that's the best.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I don't always nap. And sometimes I work through it
- 17:33Speaker 1: because I'm like, I'm not tired. And then at 3.15,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I should have napped.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Yeah. I got Amber into napping. She never used to nap.
- 17:42Speaker 3: She was like, I never used to nap until I
- 17:44Speaker 3: met you. And I was like, because, I mean, it's
- 17:46Speaker 3: around 4 or 5 o'clock. That's when it's like, all right,
- 17:48Speaker 3: I got to crash real quick because I got to
- 17:50Speaker 3: be up and I got to be, you know, doing
- 17:51Speaker 3: shit for the next hour. Like, I don't know. My
- 17:54Speaker 3: mind needs to be super present so I can, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 3: act quick on stage, you know. That makes sense. Because
- 18:01Speaker 3: I'm all over the place. So it's like I need to,
- 18:03Speaker 3: you know.
- 18:04Speaker 1: No, I didn't know that about you. Well, we're going
- 18:08Speaker 1: to see if your mind is quick and present now
- 18:10Speaker 1: because I got some trivia for you.
- 18:12Speaker 3: That's right. You got the trivia. Okay, here, let me
- 18:14Speaker 3: bust out the scoreboard. All right, scoreboard.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and since... Let me see. So Carlos made the
- 18:20Speaker 1: trivia questions for all of these podcasts.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:24Speaker 1: So I made him trivia questions because... Yeah, why not?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And we recorded with Joe Lowers earlier, and he decided
- 18:38Speaker 1: that because Carlos' questions were so brain-stumpers that he wanted
- 18:43Speaker 1: to make a question for Carlos. So one of these
- 18:47Speaker 1: is from Joe.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Okay. Okay. Oh, I got a question for Carlos right now.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Spot on impression if you don't know Joe. Or if
- 18:57Speaker 3: you do know Joe, you're like, damn, that's good.
- 18:58Speaker 1: If you do know Joe, you're like, wait, was he
- 19:00Speaker 1: on the podcast?
- 19:01Speaker 3: I should have just did the whole podcast as Joe.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Okay, okay. All right, what popular doll was introduced in 1959? Barbie. Yeah, yep, yep, yep.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Okay, boom.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I know. I know. I read through these after I
- 19:16Speaker 1: did it, and I was like, I made them way
- 19:17Speaker 1: too easy. All right. There will be a couple. All right.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Which show holds the record as the longest-running American primetime
- 19:28Speaker 1: TV series?
- 19:29Speaker 3: I would like to say Simpsons.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Okay.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Right, right, right.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Okay. Who is the famous actor that was born in
- 19:39Speaker 1: the small southern town of Pearsall, Texas?
- 19:43Speaker 3: A small, wait, a small southern actor?
- 19:47Speaker 1: An actor born in a small... southern town of Pearsall, Texas.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Pearsall, Texas. Southern, actually. Who's from Texas? It's either, it's
- 19:59Speaker 3: not Woody, I mean, it's not Matthew McConaughey because he's
- 20:01Speaker 3: from where they had the school shooting at. Where's the
- 20:05Speaker 3: school shooting at? Where was that school?
- 20:07Speaker 1: I mean, which one at this point?
- 20:09Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, yeah. The one with the kids where
- 20:10Speaker 3: they got with the cop.
- 20:11Speaker 1: The one with the kids.
- 20:12Speaker 3: The one with the kids in the classroom.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Carlos, they're all with kids.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Jesus. There was teachers there, too?
- 20:17Speaker 3: That's amazing. No, the one where the cops didn't go
- 20:19Speaker 3: in and they got all in trouble for it. Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 3: What the hell is that one called? But I'm trying
- 20:23Speaker 3: to think. I don't think Woody Harrelson's from Texas. This
- 20:28Speaker 3: is going to. What actor? Persol. Persol. Hmm. Texas actor.
- 20:36Speaker 3: I'm trying to think of all Texas actors are like.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Glenn Powell? No, you wouldn't know that because you're not
- 20:43Speaker 3: even listening. You wouldn't know anybody knew.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I wouldn't know any of these. It's not my question.
- 20:50Speaker 1: It's Joe's question.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Oh, it's Joe's question. Okay, Joe's question.
- 20:55Speaker 1: You know he was trying to trump you, so.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Yeah. And he doesn't know anything about movies, so he
- 21:01Speaker 3: definitely went and Googled something. He doesn't know a fucking thing. Yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I don't know how famous this actor is either, just
- 21:10Speaker 1: by the way.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I know. I was wondering maybe he might even say
- 21:13Speaker 3: something current, like someone that just recently passed away, like
- 21:16Speaker 3: Robert Duvall or something like that.
- 21:19Speaker 1: If you know Joe, the answer is funnier than that.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Oh, shit. Also, mind you, if anybody's listened to this
- 21:27Speaker 3: podcast and have worked at Laughs Unlimited, if you go
- 21:31Speaker 3: into the comedy condo, Joe is the one responsible for
- 21:34Speaker 3: all the Titanic VHS tapes.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yes, he hid them all over the condo. It was
- 21:43Speaker 1: when I had hurt my ankle, so I wasn't there.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I wasn't checking it. I had somebody cleaning it and whatever.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And I had a comic come in and go, what's
- 21:51Speaker 1: with the Titanic tapes? And I was like, I don't
- 21:54Speaker 1: know what you're talking about. And they were like, there's
- 21:58Speaker 1: VHS copies of the Titanic all over the condo. And
- 22:01Speaker 1: I was like, maybe a comic trying to say something
- 22:05Speaker 1: about a sinking ship. I don't know.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And so then I finally, finally went there and I saw,
- 22:12Speaker 1: and they were hidden everywhere behind the silverware caddy in
- 22:17Speaker 1: the silverware drawer. And some of them are in plain sight.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Some of them were hidden behind stuff. I mean, there
- 22:23Speaker 1: were probably, there's probably still one we've moved condos since then.
- 22:26Speaker 1: There's probably still one in the air conditioner shaft or something.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 22:30Speaker 3: Back at the other one. That's hella funny. Yeah. Cause
- 22:32Speaker 3: I think 22 copies of the Titanic. Of the Titanic, yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 3: So that's some Joe shit.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and I definitely went, this is Joe Lowers. He
- 22:42Speaker 1: did it. And then, I don't know if I told you,
- 22:45Speaker 1: so I showed up at World Series that year. And
- 22:50Speaker 1: as soon as I saw him, he goes, so how
- 22:52Speaker 1: do you like the Titanic? And I said, I knew
- 22:54Speaker 1: it was you. And he goes, you didn't even say anything.
- 22:57Speaker 1: We had a video. We were going to send you
- 22:59Speaker 1: this video. And I said, I didn't want to give
- 23:02Speaker 1: you the satisfaction.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Yeah. You rat bastard.
- 23:07Speaker 1: So, yes. So, we kept the Titanic. He's also the
- 23:10Speaker 1: one that put the... There's a little demonic statue. That's Joe, too.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 23:15Speaker 1: I didn't know that. And there is a painting. It's
- 23:18Speaker 1: like three kids eating ice cream, and they signed the
- 23:21Speaker 1: bottom of it.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Oh, fucking hell.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Easter eggs at the condo.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I don't know Persol. I don't know the actor in Persol.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You would never guess.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Okay. What is it?
- 23:33Speaker 1: The actor's name is... Carlos Rodriguez.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Hilarious.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I was like, this is so random. Of course, that's
- 23:43Speaker 1: going to be. Thanks, Joe. Thanks, Joe. One missed for Carlos.
- 23:48Speaker 3: What was the question before this again? I forgot.
- 23:51Speaker 1: The Simpsons.
- 23:52Speaker 3: The Simpsons, yeah.
- 23:52Speaker 1: The longest-running American primetime series.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Did you know that I'm such a stubborn fuck that
- 23:57Speaker 3: when someone tells me something that something's like or something's
- 24:00Speaker 3: better than and I don't agree, I won't even, I
- 24:02Speaker 3: won't fuck with it. So case in point, someone one
- 24:06Speaker 3: time told me, they told me that Lenny Kravitz was better,
- 24:11Speaker 3: not better, was the new Jimi Hendrix. And I go,
- 24:13Speaker 3: that's bullshit. And I never listened to Lenny Kravitz. Someone
- 24:19Speaker 3: also told me too that Maxwell was the new Marvin Gaye.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And I go, fuck Maxwell, I will not listen to him.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Someone told me one time, they go, the South Park
- 24:29Speaker 3: is better than The Simpsons will ever be. And I've
- 24:31Speaker 3: never watched an episode of South Park.
- 24:36Speaker 1: See, I'm the same but different. My stubbornness is people
- 24:41Speaker 1: start talking about a new show and I won't watch it.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Because I'm like, no, I don't want to watch it
- 24:46Speaker 1: while everybody else is watching it.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah, fuck Breaking Bad.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I didn't watch Breaking Bad until like four years later.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Really? Yeah.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good. But I watched it on my own.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Because then you don't have to deal with spoilers and whatever.
- 25:02Speaker 1: The Office, too. I didn't watch The Office when it
- 25:03Speaker 1: was popular. I watched it years later.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what's funny?
- 25:07Speaker 1: And now you guys, you're like the third person to
- 25:09Speaker 1: talk about The Pit. And I'm like, I can't watch
- 25:13Speaker 1: it right now. I have to wait.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Maybe later. I think the second season is about to end.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I haven't watched the second season yet. I only watched
- 25:18Speaker 3: the first.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That's Noah Wiley, isn't it?
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I like him. I'm a big ER fan. Yeah. Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 3: One time I discovered ER was on a streaming service somewhere,
- 25:28Speaker 3: and they had every season, and I go, goodbye, everybody.
- 25:33Speaker 1: It's on again. I think it's on Hulu right now.
- 25:35Speaker 3: It possibly is. It keeps popping up.
- 25:36Speaker 1: On my thing. Okay. All right. What are the three
- 25:42Speaker 1: names of the Jonas Brothers? Oh, I put a missed
- 25:44Speaker 1: on there, sir.
- 25:45Speaker 3: You missed it. Oh, yeah, I missed. You missed Joe's question.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I missed the impossible question. Uh-huh. Nick, Joe, and Nick, Joe,
- 26:01Speaker 3: and there's Johannes? Jeremiah? No. Johannes, Jonas? You don't know him?
- 26:21Speaker 3: He's the one they don't talk about. They don't talk
- 26:23Speaker 3: about him.
- 26:23Speaker 1: They didn't let him in the group because his name
- 26:25Speaker 1: was Thomas.
- 26:26Speaker 3: He's tone deaf, so they couldn't put him in the band.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they were like, no, no.
- 26:30Speaker 3: He's the chef. All right. Nick, Joe, and I know
- 26:37Speaker 3: one was married to Deepak Chopra's daughter, Deepak Chopra's daughter,
- 26:42Speaker 3: and the other one's an actor and all kinds of shit.
- 26:45Speaker 3: But no, I don't think I know. No, I don't know.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Kevin. Nick, Joe, and Kevin. Kevin.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I would have never. I would have never. I would
- 26:52Speaker 3: have never.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so another mystery user. Oh, no.
- 26:57Speaker 3: That was three questions in one. I always say name
- 27:01Speaker 3: at least one thing. Oh, wait, no, the access powers. Oh,
- 27:03Speaker 3: I said name two. Oh, huh.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Listen here. Out of the three. Don't question my trivia.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I'm just saying, I was like, hey, name two branches
- 27:13Speaker 3: of three.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Don't worry, your questions are easier than my, or these
- 27:17Speaker 1: questions are easier than your questions, so. Okay, what part
- 27:21Speaker 1: of the human body controls balance?
- 27:24Speaker 3: Equilibrium.
- 27:28Speaker 1: What part of the body is equilibrium? That's not a
- 27:31Speaker 1: body part.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Your ears and shit. There
- 27:35Speaker 3: you go. And your pinky toe.
- 27:37Speaker 1: The inner ear. Just ask somebody that doesn't have one.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:42Speaker 1: All right. You got another one.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Ding.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Don't worry. I got you. What, which country
- 27:52Speaker 1: carries the name land of the rising sun?
- 27:56Speaker 3: Which country? Land of the rising sun. It would be,
- 27:59Speaker 3: I would say China or Japan, huh? Wait, wait, uh,
- 28:06Speaker 3: the country, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh, land of
- 28:10Speaker 3: the rising sun. Cause, uh, sun rises in the east
- 28:13Speaker 3: and sets in the west, homie. Uh, yeah. So I'm
- 28:16Speaker 3: going to go with, uh, I'm going to go with
- 28:19Speaker 3: Japan because it's further east.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It is Japan.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 1: You almost got that one wrong.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I had to talk it out. Talk it out. What
- 28:27Speaker 3: was the movie?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Oh, there was a movie. I had to look it
- 28:29Speaker 1: up myself because you're the engineer and you were thinking.
- 28:32Speaker 1: There's a movie called Rising Sun with... Who's in it?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Rising Sun? I know Empire of the Sun, but I
- 28:39Speaker 3: don't know Rising Sun.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Oh, you got to watch it. What, Mr. Movie Buff?
- 28:43Speaker 1: Rising Sun. Yeah, it has Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah. I know what I'm talking about now.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I don't know why I thought Stephen Seagal, but yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 3: I know what you're talking about.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah, the chick gets murdered on the conference room table.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a 90s flick. Yeah, I remember that.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, 93. That's a good one. I like that movie.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Fucking Sean Connery.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Okay, this one's a slam dunk for you. This one's easy.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Oh, I missed it. I missed it. No, wait.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I should make you name them too, but you'll be
- 29:10Speaker 1: able to name them. It doesn't matter. How many Teenage
- 29:12Speaker 1: Mutant Ninja Turtles are there?
- 29:15Speaker 3: There's four, but there's a- What are their names? Their names, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Lido,
- 29:21Speaker 3: and Ardo. And can you sing the song? Can I
- 29:23Speaker 3: sing the song?
- 29:23Speaker 1: .
- 29:29Speaker 3: .
- 29:32Speaker 1: .
- 29:36Speaker 3: .
- 29:39Speaker 1: They're heroes in the
- 29:43Speaker 1: half shell and they're green.
- 29:47Speaker 3: That's a fact, Jack. I don't know.
- 29:52Speaker 1: When evil shredder attacks. Okay, I got to stop. They're
- 29:56Speaker 1: going to be like, why does she know that? It doesn't,
- 29:58Speaker 1: it's fine.
- 29:59Speaker 3: That's every, every, every.
- 30:00Speaker 1: That's my childhood.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Everybody that's in that age category should know that. If not, they're, they're,
- 30:05Speaker 3: they were lames.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Right, right, right. They had sad, sad childhoods. All right.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You got another one. Yep. Okay. Okay. All right, what
- 30:15Speaker 1: was the name of the 1960s dance craze popularized by
- 30:21Speaker 1: Chubby Checker?
- 30:23Speaker 3: The Twist.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes. Let's do the twist.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Come on, baby. There's a movie with Chubby Checker in it,
- 30:32Speaker 3: and it's got also Neil Patrick Harris. It was called
- 30:34Speaker 3: Purple People Eaters. Do you remember that movie by any chance? Oh,
- 30:38Speaker 3: it was so funny. That sounds random. It was a T-E-N-A-D,
- 30:42Speaker 3: one horn flying purple people leader. Yeah, and it was
- 30:45Speaker 3: so funny. And he's in it for some reason out
- 30:47Speaker 3: of nowhere. I don't know why I know that useless
- 30:50Speaker 3: piece of trivia. But that's going on week seven's list
- 30:54Speaker 3: of questions.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Because it's like that.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Okay, which U.S. state joined the union last?
- 31:04Speaker 3: Joined the union last? US state joined the union last
- 31:08Speaker 3: after which was the 50th state oh the 50th state
- 31:12Speaker 3: okay I want to say Hawaii yes yeah yeah it
- 31:17Speaker 3: was either Hawaii or Alaska but I'm pretty sure Hawaii
- 31:19Speaker 3: I remember one time I was on a plane and
- 31:20Speaker 3: I was talking and I was my my Karina I
- 31:24Speaker 3: think I don't know if you met Karina or not
- 31:25Speaker 3: but Karina's like she's that cousin that was just like
- 31:28Speaker 3: yes I met Karina yeah okay you met Karina yeah
- 31:33Speaker 3: she was there too she had to leave and come
- 31:34Speaker 3: back but yeah she took off but She like, I
- 31:37Speaker 3: remember one time we were in Chicago and, um, I
- 31:39Speaker 3: was doing this, I was doing a set and then,
- 31:41Speaker 3: and then, uh, I could hear her, I can hear
- 31:43Speaker 3: her in the audience. And I'm like, I'm sorry. I'm like,
- 31:45Speaker 3: I apologize to the audience for her. Cause she's, she's
- 31:48Speaker 3: not a heckler. She's not heckling me. She's not even
- 31:50Speaker 3: talking to me. She's talking to her friend. I go,
- 31:52Speaker 3: my cousin talks like she has headphones on at 10, uh,
- 31:55Speaker 3: at full blast when she talks to people, like they're
- 31:57Speaker 3: down the fucking block when they're next to them. And, uh, she's, uh,
- 32:02Speaker 3: and what, uh, well, we're in the plane. We're going to, uh,
- 32:04Speaker 3: we were going to go to Chicago. Yeah. And she
- 32:07Speaker 3: said something like, you know, I've been out of the country.
- 32:10Speaker 3: And I go, where have you been out of the country?
- 32:12Speaker 3: She's like, I went to Hawaii. And I was like,
- 32:14Speaker 3: that's not out of the country. She goes, yeah, it
- 32:18Speaker 3: is considered out of the country. And I go, so
- 32:20Speaker 3: if that's the case, if that's what you think, then
- 32:22Speaker 3: if I went to Mexico, I never left the country.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Just because it's connected to the thing. And she was like,
- 32:29Speaker 3: I think... Hold on, wait a minute.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I take back everything I said is what I mean.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Dude, it was so fucking funny. They don't mean any
- 32:39Speaker 3: stupid comments, but they're just so goofy. She's so goofy.
- 32:42Speaker 3: And I also wrote a joke about her off the
- 32:47Speaker 3: thought that we had, but I hardly ever say it.
- 32:49Speaker 3: It's one of those jokes that you have that you don't,
- 32:53Speaker 3: it's not on your set, and it's not like an
- 32:55Speaker 3: everyday occurrence. It's just like, oh, this happens to be
- 32:58Speaker 3: a great moment for it. And then you drop it
- 33:00Speaker 3: in and you're like, oh, I wish it would work
- 33:02Speaker 3: like that all the time. But it has to be
- 33:03Speaker 3: at a moment thing.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And it was.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Yeah. And it was a joke about the premise was
- 33:08Speaker 3: just like, you know, women like dudes have a best friend.
- 33:12Speaker 3: We only have one. You're not you can't have fucking
- 33:14Speaker 3: more than one. Oh, not women. They don't. I know
- 33:18Speaker 3: right now that there are probably people on that are
- 33:20Speaker 3: going to listen to this and be like, you can
- 33:22Speaker 3: have more than one best friend. No, the fuck you can't.
- 33:24Speaker 3: That's like liking two football teams in the same– you can't.
- 33:29Speaker 3: You only can like– you're loyal to one– so anyways,
- 33:33Speaker 3: she was like, yeah, I have five best friends because
- 33:35Speaker 3: she always introduced her friends to me as her best– Right,
- 33:38Speaker 3: as my best friend. And I go, no, no, bitch.
- 33:40Speaker 3: That's not how that goes. She goes, I have like
- 33:43Speaker 3: five or six of them best friends. I go, no, no, no, no.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I go, if you have poison and– And one of
- 33:50Speaker 3: them takes it and you only have antidote for one person.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Whoever you give that one antidote to, that's your best friend.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And she was like, then we're all dying. I go,
- 34:03Speaker 3: then you're nobody's best friend then, bitch.
- 34:06Speaker 1: She's like, I'm taking it for myself is what I'm doing.
- 34:09Speaker 3: That's hilarious.
- 34:10Speaker 1: So speaking of Hawaii not being a part of the
- 34:13Speaker 1: United States, I lived in Alaska for four years.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Moved back to California between my sophomore and junior year.
- 34:21Speaker 1: And it is amazing the number of people that don't
- 34:24Speaker 1: think that Alaska, they're like, what's it like living in
- 34:27Speaker 1: a different country? I don't know. If you know, it's
- 34:35Speaker 1: this country still.
- 34:36Speaker 3: The exchange rate is crazy. Right, right, right.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Between that and, I mean, these are like high school students.
- 34:43Speaker 1: These are not. Between that and, did you live in
- 34:47Speaker 1: an igloo?
- 34:48Speaker 3: Oh, wow, really?
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I got that a lot. I was like, no, no.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I want to go to Alaska, though. I want to
- 34:57Speaker 3: take my mom.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I love Alaska.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Yeah, her mom's name is Aurora and named after the
- 35:02Speaker 3: Aurora Borealis.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Oh, yes, yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 3: If I ever had a daughter or anything like that,
- 35:07Speaker 3: that's what I'd name her. I like that name, Aurora. Yeah,
- 35:09Speaker 3: it's beautiful.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a daughter. I didn't name her that.
- 35:13Speaker 3: She said, but now I think about it. I should have. No.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I like the name I gave her. She's adorable.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Give yourself another point because you got nine. We're at nine. Okay,
- 35:30Speaker 1: so final round.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Would you like to wager points?
- 35:34Speaker 3: Fuck, I would. I want to beat Mary up church.
- 35:38Speaker 1: You can't, though. You can only tie her.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I can only tie her, I know. And I'm like, shit.
- 35:42Speaker 3: So we have the... Oh, we have the topic. What's
- 35:44Speaker 3: the topic?
- 35:46Speaker 1: The topic is animals.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Animals. Hmm. Okay. I love animals.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I love war dogs.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Lord, I know.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Where is he at? He's somewhere, too, over here. Let's see. Okay, yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 3: you know what? Fuck it. Let's go. Let's go all
- 36:06Speaker 3: of them because I want to tie.
- 36:07Speaker 1: All right. 14 or nothing. This is for all the marbles.
- 36:13Speaker 3: All the marbles.
- 36:14Speaker 1: How many hearts does an octopus have?
- 36:17Speaker 3: Oh, shit. They have eight legs, but I want to
- 36:22Speaker 3: say they have five hearts. It can't be a heart
- 36:30Speaker 3: for each leg. I think it's five hearts. I think
- 36:32Speaker 3: it's five. Is it?
- 36:33Speaker 1: No.
- 36:34Speaker 3: I should have looked at your face when I said
- 36:36Speaker 3: it too right now. I didn't even think about that.
- 36:41Speaker 1: This is why I don't play poker.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm going to stick with five.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Wrong. Oh, really? Oh, shit. It is three. Three.
- 36:53Speaker 3: It was an odd number. I like that it was
- 36:54Speaker 3: an odd number. Okay, where's my points at? They got
- 36:56Speaker 3: to go all the way down. Is that how the
- 37:02Speaker 3: price went?
- 37:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Well, let's see.
- 37:09Speaker 1: March 13th and 14th.
- 37:11Speaker 3: 13th and 14th. Yes.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes. I will be back.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Carlos coming back home.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yep, yep. I'm coming back.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Do I got to fight Matt for you?
- 37:24Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's right. Matt said, I'm going to steal
- 37:30Speaker 3: Carlos away. Okay.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I know. He tried to tell me that. He had
- 37:33Speaker 1: been telling you that for a while. But then when
- 37:35Speaker 1: I went and I was in Vegas, he said, you know,
- 37:37Speaker 1: I'm going to steal him. And I said, you can't
- 37:39Speaker 1: steal him. Lafz is his home.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Boom. And then drop the mic on him. Yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 1: You can borrow him a little bit, but Lafz is
- 37:50Speaker 1: home for him.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I mean, you've been performing. You've been doing comedy for?
- 37:54Speaker 3: 18 years now. Consistently 18 years. But I guess if
- 37:58Speaker 3: we added it all together, it'd be around 22. Yeah.
- 38:03Speaker 1: It's funny because I've owned the club for 16, but
- 38:07Speaker 1: I've been around for 24. Yeah. And so you and
- 38:11Speaker 1: there's a couple of people that were around, you know,
- 38:14Speaker 1: as open micers and as hosts, like just coming up
- 38:17Speaker 1: when I started. So I like to say that we
- 38:19Speaker 1: grew up together.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. We did try to figure it out.
- 38:24Speaker 3: And then, yeah, it's interesting. It's interesting how far Like
- 38:28Speaker 3: when we were just talking about too with Joe and
- 38:30Speaker 3: you were like– he was like, yeah, it's been like
- 38:33Speaker 3: 10 years almost since you started doing the World Series
- 38:37Speaker 3: with him or getting into the world or having them
- 38:39Speaker 3: come along. And it's like, oh, that's right. And a
- 38:43Speaker 3: lot of hosts come and gone.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Yeah. A lot of comics have come and gone, not
- 38:48Speaker 1: just hosts but like features too. It's crazy. I mean
- 38:53Speaker 1: comedy is not easy. And there's a business side of it,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and there's a lot invested in a comedian's career when
- 39:02Speaker 1: they get to different levels. And it's crazy for a
- 39:07Speaker 1: comic to get farther, you know, and then to still
- 39:11Speaker 1: give it up.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:13Speaker 1: It's nuts. It's a thing. It happens.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it happens. I was going to say, too, it's
- 39:17Speaker 3: funny because you were trying to figure out how long
- 39:19Speaker 3: it had been, and you were– because, you know– Sometimes
- 39:23Speaker 3: you can't figure out dates, so you have to figure
- 39:25Speaker 3: out events. And you're like, my ankle was hurt. And
- 39:27Speaker 3: then I was like was that the year that I
- 39:30Speaker 3: that I that I snuck into it and I yeah
- 39:34Speaker 3: and then you and then you went to slow too Yeah, no, no,
- 39:41Speaker 3: I snuck into it, and then I snuck into Big Pine.
- 39:43Speaker 3: After I snuck into World Series, I rented a car,
- 39:48Speaker 3: and I drove in the middle of the night, and
- 39:49Speaker 3: I went and snuck into Big Pines Festival. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:54Speaker 3: And then the next year you came, or I think
- 39:56Speaker 3: you came to the next year after that to Big Pine.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Big Pine, yeah, I think so.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Yeah, because that was when it was in Flagstaff still proper,
- 40:03Speaker 3: and then they took off and went to other places now.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's in Chandler.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 40:09Speaker 1: That'll be coming up next month too. So yeah, lots,
- 40:13Speaker 1: lots happening, lots coming up.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Their podcast will be on the channel too. So check
- 40:17Speaker 3: those out.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yep. Mic drop, big pine, check it all out. One
- 40:22Speaker 1: big comedy network. That's what we got going on. From
- 40:27Speaker 1: being a lone wolf to, to now, you know, working
- 40:31Speaker 1: together and, and collaborating and bookings and podcasts and stuff.
- 40:36Speaker 1: It's fun. That's good.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yes. Well, we will see you soon. Thank you for
- 40:42Speaker 1: your time. Awesome.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Thank you. Good to be here. Good to be here.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Yes, yes. Good to be seen.
- 40:50Speaker 3: All right. Let me see. How do I do this? Oh, yeah.
- 40:52Speaker 3: It's so funny because we're trying to multitask. Right.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I know. It was all smooth right up until now.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Right until then. And seen. Bye. Bye.
