- 0:14Or our favorite, in orange. Because if you're still chasing
- 0:17tequila with a lime, what are you doing?
- 0:20That orange slice springs out the bright citrus notes of Una
- 0:23Vida Blanco, which is smooth, authentic and tasteful.
- 0:27Like myself. Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive
- 0:31free, so you're enjoying tequila in its purest form without the
- 0:35hangover regret. Yeah, because it takes us three
- 0:38to five business days to recover now, and hang side is not my
- 0:41friend. That's why you should stick with
- 0:44una Vida or try cocktails instead of shots.
- 0:47OK, love a little. One Life Spirits also crafts El
- 0:50Drago High Post vodkas and LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth
- 0:54and made to share. Whether it's game night, date

- 2:01Steps is the future. Shout out Miguel.
- 2:04Sitting to my right, it's the blue haired fantasy McAllister.
- 2:08Yes, hello guys. Sorry, I don't know what I was
- 2:10waiting for. You're a producer.
- 2:12Extraordinary STV and we're sitting in a cool corner today.
- 2:17Fanister, tell everybody who we're sitting with and.
- 2:20Yes, we're sitting with some really cool dudes.
- 2:22We're with Luis Acosta and also Steven Reed, who are the owners
- 2:27of Elite Electric Company and well, veterans really turned
- 2:31builders. So I mean, they're building a
- 2:33company, they're building a business, they're building a
- 2:35team. They're building lights for you,
- 2:37They're keeping the lights on for you.
- 2:39They're turning you on, wink wink, and they are helping you
- 2:46build your body, but in a healthy way, not in a way that's
- 2:49beating you up or beating you down.
- 2:51Right, 'cause we here on the pod, we definitely don't
- 2:53romanticize hustle culture because it's not fun to do that
- 2:56and we don't want to do the burnout.
- 2:58We're human, we're messy, we're make mistakes and that's why
- 3:00we're drinking on the pod 'cause we do that.
- 3:02Cheers to that. Yes.
- 3:04So Luis and Steven, we're so excited to finally have you
- 3:07guys. Here, Yeah.
- 3:10Appreciate you guys having us for reals.
- 3:11How are you guys feeling? We feel good today.
- 3:14I think we had a great start today.
- 3:15Yeah, yeah. We feel great today.
- 3:17Well, you guys were up really early at 6:00 AM.
- 3:19Yeah, but we had to be there. I think I have what, 540-5550?
- 3:22So we were up by 5:00 AM, Yeah. Why?
- 3:25We had to check in early, Yeah. So for we did a So today was
- 3:30like our first, like full blown. So we have a run club, the elite
- 3:33run club, and today was like our first after your kickoff of the
- 3:37whole run club getting together at Orangetheory.
- 3:40So Orangetheory put together like a little kickoff event for
- 3:42all the whole run club, all the members.
- 3:44Well, most of the members that showed up and we had to be there
- 3:47at 6:00 in the morning though. Who chose the 6:00 AM time,
- 3:52Steven? Yeah, well, sauna.
- 3:55Oh, OK, yeah. Time I did.
- 3:58I just think that, I just think they have like a certain time
- 4:00that they had to get us in before their actual customers.
- 4:03Yeah, this was like a thing that they kind of reached out to us
- 4:06and was like, hey, we wanted to have you guys over at
- 4:07Orangetheory bring you guys, you know, members and whatnot.
- 4:10And they did it for free for everybody.
- 4:12I love that though, that's so exciting.
- 4:14Yeah, it was a good time. I think everybody was dying, but
- 4:16it was fun. Yeah, there's.
- 4:17Something good about that, right?
- 4:18Like there's something good about like tearing your body
- 4:22down and build it off. Well, it's funny.
- 4:23What I mean? That was my first time there.
- 4:25And like, they have like, these bands they put on you and then,
- 4:27like, it shows your screen and it shows, like, your heart rate.
- 4:29Yeah. And it shows like, whenever,
- 4:31like there's like different colors, like you're in the
- 4:32blue-green, orange and like, what is it?
- 4:34Red, red. And if you're in the red,
- 4:37you're, you know, you're kind of your heart rate's going crazy.
- 4:40And this guy was in the red the whole time.
- 4:41From the beginning. What is that like Zone 2, Zone
- 4:444, Is that what they're they're measuring?
- 4:46Is that what they're saying? I guess I don't know what it is,
- 4:49but I. Would imagine him being in the
- 4:51red. His heart rate was very high,
- 4:52yeah. It's about like 17180.
- 4:55Like, yeah, I haven't worked out since November, so.
- 4:58Oh, that makes sense, yeah. I'd be right there in the red
- 5:02with you, yeah. So usually, like I said, we, we
- 5:06with our run club, we usually try to get together once a week
- 5:09or every other week. I just think with, with the
- 5:11winter, we kind of slow down a lot, you know, obviously just
- 5:13the cold, the cold and all stuff.
- 5:15So now we're just trying to get back into it.
- 5:16Now it's trying to get nice again.
- 5:18And everybody was just like, it's been a while since I've
- 5:20been working out. Like, trust me, you're not the
- 5:21only one, right? Well, I have heard you guys do
- 5:25that. Yeah, you guys are really
- 5:26consistent, you guys. But also like with your, it's
- 5:29not just, and we'll get into Elite in a second too, but with,
- 5:34since we're on the topic of VRC, I've noticed that yeah, you guys
- 5:36do once a week. What is it every Tuesday
- 5:39typically or something? Like that.
- 5:40So we were doing every Tuesday we did Tuesday, Tuesday training
- 5:45it either it would it would be either with myself or doing a
- 5:48class or tiny she did another class too.
- 5:50So we would like kind of collaborate and just take turns
- 5:52on doing it. And then on Saturdays or Sundays
- 5:55we would and that will the Tuesdays are more like a workout
- 5:57training. OK, so it's like a hit training.
- 5:59It's not just running. We want to focus on body
- 6:01strength, you know, upper body strength, not just legs and
- 6:03everything like that. So it's a full blown body
- 6:05workout and then we do like hill interval training, we'll do that
- 6:08too. Yeah, I those looked intense.
- 6:10Yeah, so we would do that and then on the weekends, like
- 6:13either a Saturday or Sunday, we would do the actual runs with
- 6:16everybody, you know what I'm saying?
- 6:17And then just kind of get everybody prepped up.
- 6:19And throughout the year everybody signs up for run like
- 6:22run events, SO5KS10, KS, half marathons, whatever they want to
- 6:26run, sign up for. And we all push each other and
- 6:28train each other for those events, so.
- 6:31Are you a runner too? I wouldn't say running, I'm, I'm
- 6:35running, but I'm Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 6:37I think yeah. So last year I did well, I
- 6:40didn't do the half marathon. I did 5 Ki hurt my my leg.
- 6:42But yeah, we just we put together last year was a 14 week
- 6:47half marathon prep and we signed up.
- 6:49I think it was like 10 people who did it.
- 6:51They've never done it. They just started.
- 6:53We all kind of came together and just built every week and.
- 6:56You're talking about prepare fire for the Oh, there was way
- 6:57more than 10. That we that we trained.
- 6:59With that, we the the whole the group photo.
- 7:02Yeah, like 20 in there. Yeah, it was quite a bit.
- 7:05Yeah, it was quite a bit. But half marathon isn't that.
- 7:08Well, how many miles is that? 13 point 113.1 miles I.
- 7:12Don't know how you guys do that shit man.
- 7:14To some people it's easy. To other people it's it's hard,
- 7:16you know what I'm saying? And that's the thing though.
- 7:17But but one thing about the ERC though, is we don't, we, we
- 7:20promote, you know, beginners, advanced, everything.
- 7:23It don't matter your level of expertise of running.
- 7:26We're going to get you. If you have a goal, we're going
- 7:28to help you get there. You know what I'm saying?
- 7:29I'm not a professional running out, You know, I'll be honest,
- 7:31like I don't, I don't really enjoy running.
- 7:32Yeah, but to see how much motivation I can give these, you
- 7:36know, everybody around me, I love that.
- 7:38And to see them hit their goals at that's like, it's worth it at
- 7:40the end. That's why I do it.
- 7:43So on that note, I thought you were going to say something on
- 7:46that note. OK, How did you guys start ERC?
- 7:50What led you into that because you also had Elite for a while.
- 7:53You guys have had Elite for what is 10 seven?
- 7:57OK. I know that you guys were
- 7:58hitting your 10 pretty soon. No, we said 7.
- 8:01Seven years, OK. We just had a, we just had our
- 8:02sixth year anniversary last year.
- 8:04And then you're talking about like, I think like you, you're,
- 8:07you just said this, but it's more about not, you know, trying
- 8:11to get to the goal, not to try to finish the whole thing, but
- 8:14it's welcoming everyone and pushing people.
- 8:16And I'm hearing that thing in a lot of the your guys's
- 8:19personality. So kind of tell us a little bit
- 8:21about Elite. What got you guys started with
- 8:23that? As far as electric?
- 8:25Yes. OK, Yeah.
- 8:27So it started Elite Electric 2019 back story.
- 8:32I was in the military, Lewis is in the military.
- 8:35Together we both went through. Military.
- 8:36Wait, you guys were together? Yeah.
- 8:38Really. Yes.
- 8:39We've been we've been best friends for what will be 20
- 8:42years next year. Oh, best.
- 8:44He's so cute. And then they traveled together.
- 8:48Guys, they didn't travel. We we met at we met at AI had a
- 8:51house party a long time ago. Yeah, I was like younger in my
- 8:53mom's house. Yeah.
- 8:54And like he just came by one time and we just like we just
- 8:58started hanging out playing beer pong and then ever since we just
- 9:00started hanging out kicking it after that and shit.
- 9:02And ever since we've always been travelling, partying and just
- 9:05being boys after that. Wait, so are you both from
- 9:07Wichita? I'm from Wichita.
- 9:10I'm from Utah. OK, OK, so you moved to Wichita,
- 9:14throw a house party. Both of you are like, let's join
- 9:16the let's play beer pong, but in the Army.
- 9:20Fuck yeah, dude, let me let's give our soul to the government.
- 9:23And then you're like, let's party there.
- 9:25And then you're like, oh, this is not party.
- 9:27And then and then you're like, hey, let's what if we open
- 9:31something together? Is that what?
- 9:33Happened, yes. I mean, I joined the military.
- 9:36I got that $20,000 bonus and I was like, hey, you want 20,000,
- 9:41right? Yeah, did that.
- 9:42And then as an electrician you joined and then they're doing
- 9:46the same. There's a local apprenticeship
- 9:49that we went to. I think I was maybe?
- 9:52Two year or two. Years ahead of him and then
- 9:54right after when I got done and got my license, I was the
- 9:59apprenticeship that we went to is very that's like white male
- 10:05dominated kind of like about who you know, not what you know type
- 10:09of thing. And for for me I was like, oh, I
- 10:11could do this myself Oh yeah. So 2019 broke off and he was,
- 10:16you were just getting your license I think, or just had as
- 10:18well. And we're just like, I mean, we
- 10:21can figure this out so. That was around, that was around
- 10:23COVID time too. That's hard to start a business
- 10:26around COVID time, so. Like around that time, like he
- 10:28said, like, you know, being in that, in that industry with the
- 10:31in the union, pretty much like at that time, I got really slow
- 10:35and a lot of people was kind of just getting laid off at that
- 10:37time. A lot of people were losing
- 10:38their jobs and whatnot. And at that time within that
- 10:41industry, it was a lot about who you knew, not what you knew, you
- 10:45know, I'm saying and for. I mean, that's all like business
- 10:49honestly, it kind of is. It's, it's good and bad, right?
- 10:53Like it's good. It's good if you meet bad
- 10:55people, of course, and it's bad when you meet the bad, of
- 10:58course. And then you're like either like
- 11:00I think like us as humans, right?
- 11:01We all have ego. So it's like what you're going
- 11:03to feed into it, like, and then if you're surrounded by a lot of
- 11:06bad, you're going to kind of go that way.
- 11:08Yeah. So I think for us though, that's
- 11:10like kind of like like he just said, it was like a very like
- 11:13dominant thin friends in that industry over there.
- 11:16And then we just, we were kind of the 1st to go, you know what
- 11:18I'm saying? So we're just like, we just do
- 11:20our own thing. I think that's really like says
- 11:22a lot about you guys, you know what I mean?
- 11:24Because like again, you could have been like, well, it is we
- 11:28can just keep there with them. Like what made you kind of want
- 11:31to separate? What made you guys realize like
- 11:33this? Is it for me to go that way?
- 11:35Well, I was, I, I always knew I was going to leave.
- 11:38I mean, I've always wanted to do more.
- 11:40I don't. I've never been like a paycheck.
- 11:44Like every time I had a job that paid more or I was able to do
- 11:47more, I would. So I figured like, I'm going to
- 11:51do something. I thought I was going to be a
- 11:52real estate agent, which is kind of entrepreneurial or it is
- 11:55entrepreneur. Sorry, not kind of.
- 11:58Yeah, they're. Going to come out, you know?
- 11:59Yeah, exactly. I'm kidding.
- 12:00They're not. They're not.
- 12:01They're going to, they're going to send you letters to your
- 12:03house about that. They're going to buy your house
- 12:05for cash. And then it's going to piss you
- 12:07off because it pisses me off all the time that they tell me.
- 12:09Yeah. But like so then yeah, just
- 12:12already doing electric work, started working with some
- 12:14investors and then kind of just talk to him into it.
- 12:19And I don't know what what made you.
- 12:23I mean, just, you know, like I said, just like Stevens always
- 12:26been a great leader. You know, he's, he's always been
- 12:28like one of the guys, the head of the pack and he's like I
- 12:31said, I've always supported him and anything.
- 12:33And when he asked me to come on board with him, because he
- 12:35already had started Elite actually.
- 12:37So he was the original founder, right?
- 12:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then like, like he was
- 12:40asking me like, hey, come on board with me, bro.
- 12:41Like, come on. You know, be my partner and all
- 12:43this stuff. And then I took a little bit
- 12:45because at that time I had just transitioned and got my license
- 12:48and then I had just bought a brand new home.
- 12:50So I was like, man, dude, like, you know.
- 12:52That's a big risk. Yeah, so I'm just like, because
- 12:54I was still kind of working and I was like, man, you know, if I
- 12:57do this like we need to go 100% because I just bought a brand
- 12:59new house, you know. So I was just kind of like
- 13:02nervous at 1st and then but we took off really, you know.
- 13:06So Steven had the what's funny how we started though was like,
- 13:10so Steven had like this house on the north side and his garage
- 13:13was like our shop and then his laundry room had it attached to
- 13:16his garage and that was our office so.
- 13:19I love stories like that though. I feel like those are that's
- 13:22where everything. Starts.
- 13:23That's where everyone goes and eats, you know what I mean?
- 13:25Like we have pictures of us sitting on the washer and stuff
- 13:27with our computers and stuff. Like that's how we started
- 13:29though. Like for real, like the first,
- 13:31what, 2 years, we kind of started out of there.
- 13:33We pulled money out of our own pockets and bought our first
- 13:35like service vans and stuff like that.
- 13:38And we just kind of just focused solely on residential at first
- 13:41was like our only thing. And it was like me, Steven and
- 13:43another partner that we had at the time.
- 13:45And then it was just us 3 for a while.
- 13:47And then we started bringing in like, like a helper here and
- 13:50there. So like my nephew came on board
- 13:51with us. He's still with us to this day.
- 13:55But so it was just like four or five of us.
- 13:56And for the first two years, it was just straight, strictly
- 14:00residential small stuff. But we were doing good though.
- 14:02Like we were taking off meeting a lot of, like he said,
- 14:05investors and builders and contractors and, and building
- 14:08that port, like building that reputation for ourselves.
- 14:10Yeah, yeah. You know, And then we started
- 14:13getting that big invites to the bigger projects.
- 14:15And that's really where it really kicked.
- 14:17Us out how'd that feel for you guys?
- 14:19Like when that like the moment that you know, you were, you
- 14:22were focusing on residential and then you start getting invited
- 14:24to the commercial ones. How'd that feel?
- 14:27So I loved it. So, so here's my, so how we, how
- 14:29we were talking about the whole like we was in the union for a
- 14:32long time, right? And, and, and I don't want, I'm
- 14:34not dogging the union like I, I enjoy what I learned from them
- 14:37and whatnot. But at the end of the day, when
- 14:40we got when we started getting invited to these bids, we're
- 14:43there and then those contractors have been around for all these
- 14:46years. They were there too.
- 14:47And we walked in to go do these bids and they're like looking at
- 14:50us like, what are you guys doing here?
- 14:51You know, like thinking. Like, and then you're like, what
- 14:53are you doing? And it's like that spider man.
- 14:55I mean, but like, what are you doing here?
- 14:56So like just to see the reaction of like then this is like now,
- 15:00like we're your competition now, like we don't work for you no
- 15:03more like we're your competition type thing now.
- 15:05So and now like it's it's like we've built that reputation
- 15:09greatly here. We've heard stories of.
- 15:13About how you turn people on well.
- 15:15That's our, that's our, yeah. Yeah, OK, OK.
- 15:20So there. Is more, don't worry.
- 15:21So far you keep saying that. So the people that don't know
- 15:24why she keeps saying that, That is our motto, right?
- 15:27So we have our business model and it's we're here.
- 15:29Kidding. We're here to turn you on
- 15:32electrical wise. Electrical wise.
- 15:35Wink, wink. We're here to turn you on
- 15:38electrical wise, but no like so like just just so now that they
- 15:45seen like our growth and whatnot, there was kind of we
- 15:48kind of heard some rumors that like when we first started
- 15:50taking off people, we had signs like we put yard signs out on
- 15:54job sites and we heard other contracts were going up and
- 15:56ripping them out and throwing them away.
- 15:58So we're like, hey, we're doing something right.
- 16:00Yeah, yeah, something right. So yeah, we had, we had some
- 16:05guys that like I said, we have a lot of friends in there and they
- 16:08were telling us direct like, hey dude, you guys are, you guys are
- 16:11making waves now, you know, saying so.
- 16:13No, that's it. I mean, yeah, you're you're a
- 16:15little like those, those little that was a little immature.
- 16:19We're in high school, grown ass. I can't, you know, imagine a
- 16:23grown ass man walking over to someone's yard.
- 16:26Get over there and RIP that sign out of that yard.
- 16:28Literally. And I'm like, yes, Sir.
- 16:33So now, I mean, we got, we got to a point where we started
- 16:36getting these big contracts and then now we have an actual brick
- 16:38and mortar location. Now we're over by the airport.
- 16:41We have a full blown shop, warehouse, we have offices.
- 16:44Now we start like I said it start off where I, I think this
- 16:49last year really we kicked off a lot this past year.
- 16:51Last year was tough, but then over this like past year we
- 16:53really did a lot of good and picked up a really big
- 16:56contracts. Now we went for what like 8
- 16:59employees 2222 now we have 22 employees now.
- 17:03Oh. That's so exciting and scary,
- 17:06right? You know what you know.
- 17:07What I mean 22 families that's. Yes, that's what every, everyone
- 17:11who has told us, you know, it's a part of like you know how you
- 17:15do have to think about how you have to feed everybody else's
- 17:18family. It's like, I mean, you don't
- 17:19want to take on that pressure, but you kind of do like kind of
- 17:22share a little bit about that. It's also a blessing, you know?
- 17:25Yeah, it's a blessing to be able to all the things that you've,
- 17:29you know, been dreaming for you like, hey, we wanted this.
- 17:32We look back at the times where we were, you know, in the
- 17:34laundry room or whatever. And now we can see like, oh
- 17:37shit, we're, you know, we're here.
- 17:39So I, I take it as a blessing. I take it as an honor, you know,
- 17:44and that'll take it lightly for, you know, all the guys and and
- 17:48women that we have worked for us, that we try to make them,
- 17:52you know, the best version of themselves that we can, whether
- 17:55they're with us or not, we're trying to get them to the next
- 17:57level, either outwork their position to move up and take
- 18:01over my position. But we're we're, we just want
- 18:04everybody to be better. So I mean, for me it's a
- 18:06blessing. Yeah.
- 18:07Yeah. So one thing I want to emphasize
- 18:09is like, you know, the electrical trade, it's not just
- 18:12a, that's not just a job, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:15Like it's, it's a way of life. You know, we're always going to
- 18:17need electricians in this world. And so whenever we do interviews
- 18:20with everybody, I always say every single time we interview
- 18:23somebody, if you want to come in and get a job, I can give you a
- 18:25job. But if you want to come in and
- 18:27make this a career, we can also do that for you too, you know
- 18:29what I'm saying? Because at the end, you know.
- 18:32Yeah, that that was Run that back.
- 18:34So because I want to tap, I want to tap into something else
- 18:37that's going to tap into that. So here in Wichita, there's only
- 18:41two, was it 2 schools, There's two apprenticeship schools,
- 18:45there's a union and there's a non union school.
- 18:47Well, you know, we had our guys went through we was non union
- 18:50for a while. IUC was a great program.
- 18:53You know, they did their, but we kind of seen a way to do it
- 18:57ourselves. So now we haven't kicked it off
- 19:00yet. It's in the works still, but
- 19:02we'll be kicking off our own apprenticeship program starting
- 19:05August this year. Damn, that's exciting.
- 19:09Exclusive sneak preview. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:12So it'll be the elite. What is it the?
- 19:14Elite apprenticeship Academy so you can go on IG follow the page
- 19:19they have more information website.
- 19:22Yes, yes, really how, how do you guys go about doing that?
- 19:26Is it? Is it?
- 19:27Is it really strict or? It's not, it's, it's not as
- 19:30strict as you. I mean, these days with AI you
- 19:33can learn to do anything. Right, right, right.
- 19:36Should I? Yeah, I mean, not it's like
- 19:39Bessie, but also not it's. Not it's, there's some things
- 19:44you know, you have to get with like Kansas Works and get with
- 19:47there's like business things that you have to do behind the
- 19:50scenes. But I think as far as like
- 19:52building the curriculum, the labs, like all the things I, I
- 19:56don't feel like it's been too difficult.
- 19:58We've been putting in a lot of work.
- 20:00So Mike who he's our CFO, our other partner.
- 20:04I wanted, yeah, real quick. We have another partner.
- 20:06He lives in Dallas. He's just, you know, so he's,
- 20:08he's our CFO, our financial. And here's Mike with the weather
- 20:13now, because we're gonna pop him up in a zoo.
- 20:15Yeah, we're gonna pop him up in a quick picture.
- 20:17You can put Mike on there. He want he was gonna try to be
- 20:19here this weekend, but he got really.
- 20:21Part. Of a dope.
- 20:22He comes down quite a bit. He just got busy in Dallas and
- 20:25couldn't make a pack out here, too.
- 20:26I think that just means we all need to go down there and yeah.
- 20:29I mean, yeah, shit, I guess. I guess we have to take two
- 20:32podcast trips. This.
- 20:33Year, you know, honestly we that's, we always do that.
- 20:36We go to Dallas quite a bit and where I was like, it's a
- 20:37business trip. Like that's a write off.
- 20:42But no, yeah, so Mike's been working on, he's a very
- 20:45technical guy. He can build anything.
- 20:49He used to build multi $1,000,000 systems for huge
- 20:52companies in Dallas. So he's been doing most of the,
- 20:56like I've been saying, hey, this is what electricians and
- 20:59apprentices need. He's he's implementing it just
- 21:02because I have like the obviously know what people need,
- 21:05what kind of training they need and what would work best for
- 21:08that, that kind of mindset, because you know, tradesmen
- 21:12mindset and then college, it's it's very different.
- 21:16We're talking about hands on learning versus like a textbook.
- 21:19So. This, this program will have a
- 21:21lot more like labs, which is hands on things that you know,
- 21:26we'll take things that students actually want to learn and be
- 21:29able to give them hands on. They can learn how to do it.
- 21:32They can ask as many questions, they can spend as much time as
- 21:34they want. I'm trying to, you know, perfect
- 21:37these kind of these techniques and stuff.
- 21:39So, but it has, I don't feel like it's been very difficult.
- 21:45Well, sounds like you're just passionate about this.
- 21:48You know what I mean? Like, I think that's what it,
- 21:50that's what it sounds like. It's like, yeah, you know, it's
- 21:52work, but it's like, man, this is what's needed.
- 21:54And this feels like the right next step.
- 21:56This feels like the right next step even for me to challenge
- 21:59myself and to do this, but also more importantly, for like, who
- 22:02I'm doing this for. That's what I'm hearing you say.
- 22:04It is. It's that and I think maybe just
- 22:06personality too, because I don't, I don't see anything
- 22:09really challenging. So I'm always like, no, that's
- 22:11easy. And the guys are like, we know
- 22:13if he says that, that's going to be difficult.
- 22:15Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, have you seen those,
- 22:18like, reels where they're like, when you go out with your
- 22:21entrepreneurial friend who's like, you're getting a drink and
- 22:24then they're doing math in their head, like how they just sold
- 22:26this many drinks here. They've made this much money,
- 22:28OK. And then this is a system that
- 22:29they did for this. OK.
- 22:30I think we can do this, guys. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:33That's you, huh? I do.
- 22:34That all the time. And then and then Luigi's like,
- 22:36fuck yeah, that means like 12345 things that we have to do.
- 22:40And then I have to go find somebody who's going to do this,
- 22:43and then I have to go do this and do that.
- 22:44Steven is definitely the chill thinker.
- 22:46I am the overthinker. Yeah, hands down.
- 22:48Like, I will admit that all the way I'm.
- 22:50I stress myself out. No.
- 22:52Yeah. Kind of sounds like us, the
- 22:56chill thinkers, The overthinker, yeah.
- 22:58Yes, yeah, but it's good and bad.
- 23:01You don't. Worry about it, We got this.
- 23:03Yeah, it's good and bad. Yes, yes.
- 23:05Straight up, he's like, he's always just like, we'll be all
- 23:08right, bro. I'm just like bro.
- 23:10He's. Like we cool.
- 23:13Yeah. And then I'll be like, Dusty,
- 23:14did you feel that? I felt that.
- 23:16Did Hey, hey, what about this? And he's like, Oh my God.
- 23:21And I'm like, hey, did you feel that energy shift?
- 23:23I felt it. Yeah.
- 23:24That's funny. Yeah, I get it.
- 23:29So. So is that what annoys you about
- 23:31Luigi? Doesn't annoy me, it's just I
- 23:35mean. We've.
- 23:36Known each other so long that it's I know how he thinks, you
- 23:40know, he knows how I think it's for myself.
- 23:44I think I'm very good at like knowing, like reading people and
- 23:47being able to. But like I said, we've known
- 23:49each other so long that I mean, he knows what I'm going to say.
- 23:52I know how he's going to feel about things, so.
- 23:55Well, you guys have 20 years of friendship.
- 23:57Yeah, Yeah. You know what type of toilet
- 23:59paper you guys like? I don't.
- 24:00Know about all that? Yeah.
- 24:01We don't go that deep. No, no.
- 24:04What's his What's his coffee drink?
- 24:06Vietnamese. They are best sugar.
- 24:11Free caramel latte. Shut out coffee days.
- 24:16We always do if you ever want to assassinate us.
- 24:19Raw coffee days like every morning.
- 24:21Yeah, 6:30 when you open, I'm the.
- 24:23First one of the door. That was so cute.
- 24:26You don't know. What is?
- 24:31What is your? Coffee order.
- 24:36We don't have 20 years of friendship.
- 24:39Quite a bit, but not 20. Now we've been through a lot
- 24:42together, man, you know, beyond the business, outside the
- 24:44business, there's, there's been a lot that we've we've endured
- 24:46together and I'm grateful every day.
- 24:48I think, you know, he put, they put, he put him in my life as my
- 24:51best friend. So yeah, likewise, yeah.
- 24:54And we do a lot of another thing.
- 24:55We just do a lot of travelling together.
- 24:57We explore a lot of the world, you know, then business write
- 25:00offs. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:00Yeah, what's been maybe your guys favorite thing you've done
- 25:04together and then and then opposite.
- 25:07I want to hear the thing that you're like, fuck, I never want
- 25:09to do that again. I don't know, we're very
- 25:11adventurous. Like we like to go and just like
- 25:13we'll just book a trip just to do it.
- 25:15Like we see something on Instagram and we're like, let's
- 25:17go and we'll book it. But like one thing like so for
- 25:19one, like we like to ski and snowboard, right?
- 25:21So like we'll take off to Colorado a lot for like in
- 25:24December. Just this past December, we
- 25:26seemed like they had like a whole music winter festival and
- 25:29in California and what was it, Big Bear or Lake Tahoe?
- 25:33Sorry, Lake Tahoe and we just seen it and we booked it.
- 25:36I love it. I love people.
- 25:37Like that, we'll just go, you know?
- 25:38So we was out there for full Rave Bender all weekend.
- 25:44Yeah, I think what was that trip when we won the snowmobiles?
- 25:48Yeah. So we went to, we go to
- 25:49Breckenridge a lot, Colorado. It's like it's a either a quick
- 25:52drive from here or just a quick flight and we go to break and up
- 25:55and break, you know, we go, we up Keystone Vale, we do all the
- 25:59all the mountains up there. And then we did one time, we did
- 26:02the snowmobiles and man, it was intense.
- 26:04It was so much fun, so beautiful.
- 26:06Yeah. Yeah, I've never done this.
- 26:07Yeah, they always look so much fun.
- 26:09I would. Be like, yeah.
- 26:10And then like, so like they have different ways you can do it.
- 26:12So you can do like a guided 1 where they have like a guide
- 26:15that leads you and shit. Or they would just give you a
- 26:17map like here and go explore yourself.
- 26:18And we did that one. It was well worth it.
- 26:20Yeah, worth it, that one. Yeah, well, so you guys are
- 26:24adventurous. Oh yeah, Yeah, you're like,
- 26:26we'll figure it out. Yeah.
- 26:28Yeah, Fannie Bear, keep up when you get lost.
- 26:33We're just like, we're just, you know, off the edge.
- 26:35It was like, let's just go do it.
- 26:36Like we don't care. Like we don't, you know, we had
- 26:38more fun. Just felt like we went to
- 26:40Jamaica too, right? And then like we got off.
- 26:42It was on the cruise and we got off and then they're like, oh,
- 26:44don't take these taxis. These are like the sketchy taxis
- 26:46I'm going take. And guess what?
- 26:48We went on that sketchy taxi and we had the best fucking time of
- 26:50our lives. That's.
- 26:51Me on the time too though, like so honest.
- 26:54Actually, I think I probably should have passed away a long
- 26:56time ago. You know.
- 26:59That's, you know, it's like the amount of shit that I've gone
- 27:02into, I'm like, but actually I've met some of the best people
- 27:04there, I feel. Like can't.
- 27:06Judge a book by their cover. You can't.
- 27:08Yeah, you can't. So we just, we, we like I said,
- 27:11we're very adventurous. We've done a lot of stuff.
- 27:12We've skydive. We've we've done all kinds of
- 27:14stuff. We just go do it.
- 27:15And like I said, it's all while holding hands.
- 27:17No, no, about that. Not all that.
- 27:21I'm only clipping the part where I said that.
- 27:23I'm not clipping the other part where you say no.
- 27:27We clip them into sayings. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:29Like no, they said that they do. It's funny, but now we, like I
- 27:35said, we have a lot of things that in common too, like we golf
- 27:37all the time, we love golf. There's just like a different
- 27:40stuff that we just and we just go out and just fucking hang out
- 27:42and kick it and drink. We had to drink.
- 27:45Fair. Now I get that.
- 27:46So what's something that you guys have done then you're like
- 27:48never again. That was for the experience and
- 27:50then we're not doing this again. It could be both in business or
- 27:53in life or whatever, or a run or a workout or a 6:00 AM class
- 27:58again, or A5 AMI. Don't know, You know, there's
- 28:03been a lot of stuff, I guess, like you go through life and you
- 28:05like the day of, you're like, that fucking sucked.
- 28:07But then like a couple fucking weeks later, like, let's fucking
- 28:09do it again, you know? I don't know.
- 28:11I can't really think of anything right now.
- 28:12Yeah. I don't know, Like when I went
- 28:15through like basic training for like the Army, I was like, not
- 28:17during the basic training. That shit sucked.
- 28:19I hated it. But then when I left, I was
- 28:20like, I'm glad I wouldn't do that.
- 28:21That was pretty cool, you know? How long is basic training for?
- 28:24Like 12 weeks, 12 weeks, like 10 to 12 weeks.
- 28:26It depends. So like, well, your first, your
- 28:28first initial like entry, like a week long of like paperwork and
- 28:32shots they put in your ass and all kinds of shit.
- 28:34Fucking crazy. It hurts.
- 28:37And then like the I think it's yeah.
- 28:39And then it's like what, 9 weeks?
- 28:41I think it's like 9 weeks straight basic training after
- 28:43that. Yeah, OK.
- 28:44Well, it's training like for the non.
- 28:46Well, it's changed now, people. Who have sold their souls.
- 28:49I think it's, it's, I think it's changed now from when we went in
- 28:51back in the day. So it's, it was more intense
- 28:53back then. I heard it's a lot more chill
- 28:55now. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:56What did you guys have to go through?
- 28:59I don't know. We just.
- 29:00I don't. Know, I didn't think it was that
- 29:02bad. You're like I was trying to.
- 29:03Blur it. There he was a.
- 29:04Game that was like not that bad. We're thinking we're like that.
- 29:08Just looked. Yeah, yeah, like it was pretty
- 29:11chill. I think the time I think the
- 29:12worst thing for me was like having to stay.
- 29:16I I can sleep at any point at any time.
- 29:19I probably fall asleep right here but like having to stay
- 29:22awake for so long like they will.
- 29:25Not let you sleep? Yeah, you will.
- 29:26Not let you sleep. Yeah.
- 29:27It's it's there to like kind of put some stress on you that way,
- 29:30you know, if you were to transition into like real time,
- 29:33like war, you know, you have to. Kind of you have.
- 29:36To be right, people like see hey, who's fit to do this who's
- 29:40not you know so I mean I think like the FTXI do FTX where
- 29:46you're out there for a couple days that's.
- 29:47Like your last. So it's like your field training
- 29:49exercises. It's like your final like
- 29:52fucking you're out there for like a week straight and you're
- 29:54just non-stop going through missions and you have to prove
- 29:56like, you know, your leadership or, you know, like just just
- 29:59kind of like just going through the whole actual exercises.
- 30:02I mean, you have like rounds, like they're they're not,
- 30:05they're blanks, but everything's like real like how do you spell
- 30:08it? Like, yeah, like re enacted and
- 30:10whatnot. And so like they'll give you
- 30:12missions and whatnot. And then like your final thing
- 30:15you have to do is it's like the night fire.
- 30:17So pretty much like you have to go.
- 30:18It's like a football field long of sand and like you pretty much
- 30:21have to crawl like the whole way.
- 30:23And they're throwing live grenades next to you.
- 30:25And, and then they're shooting live rounds above you.
- 30:28So you cannot stand, you stand up, you're getting shot in the
- 30:30head. So like these drill sergeants
- 30:32are shooting like all these live rounds and you just see like all
- 30:34the like the lasers, it looks like lasers like all above.
- 30:36It's pretty cool. And so you do the whole FTX, you
- 30:39have to do like a rock March for like 20 something miles with all
- 30:41your gear on. You do like a couple days out on
- 30:44the field. You don't you don't sleep, you
- 30:46don't shower, you barely eat. And then the final thing is the
- 30:50final night fire. And then at the end of that you
- 30:52go pretty much you're like inducted into like your like
- 30:55ceremony that you finally finished basic training.
- 30:58And then like the next day and then they finally take you back
- 31:00to your barracks and then the next day you have like a
- 31:02warrior's meal and like it like they let you like just talk to
- 31:06everybody and just kind of relaxed.
- 31:07Now you're pretty much finished basic training and whatnot.
- 31:10So it was pretty cool. I guess the reward at the end
- 31:11was cool, but yeah, during it was.
- 31:14Brutal. It was.
- 31:15I mean, it sounds like, I mean, but it's also the situation that
- 31:18they're training you for stress. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 31:20So when you say no sleep, like no sleep at all?
- 31:23I mean, there's little. Sleep or like, what's the most
- 31:25sleep that you would get in a day?
- 31:27You know, like you're not getting.
- 31:28Your, I mean you. Would you're not getting your 12
- 31:29hours like? They would have lights.
- 31:31They would have lights out what like a 9 or 10 and then they
- 31:34would wake us up at like 5-4 or five like fitness, like PT in
- 31:39the morning. But but in that night time
- 31:41though, you have to do like night watch like rotations.
- 31:44So that was like the worst. Yeah, you have to wake up and
- 31:46stay awake for and if they caught you sleeping, then you
- 31:49get. Fuck you up.
- 31:52Have you been wanting to get into the medical field for your
- 31:54career? I know before our podcast career
- 31:56started taking off, I had thought about it.
- 31:59I think I'd be a good pharmacy technician.

- 32:03sure. Me too.

- 32:38Yeah, it was. Yeah.
- 32:39They would. They would jump in.
- 32:40They would smoke you is what they call it.
- 32:41They smoked. You what does that?
- 32:42Mean so like they would like make your ass do a bunch of push
- 32:44ups, sit ups like. Everything like you owe me 50
- 32:47burpees. Yeah, Oh.
- 32:48Right now, I saw you sleeping last night.
- 32:50And then like, well, The thing is too, if somebody.
- 32:52I I saw you with that teddy bear, fucking do it right now.
- 32:56Well, then it's like, and then The thing is like, you know, you
- 32:58fuck up, one person fucks up. Well, the whole platoon has to
- 33:00pay for it. Yeah.
- 33:01So then you have all everybody have to everybody.
- 33:03Yep, exactly. So we have, we have what's
- 33:05called a be accountable. We used to have what's called a
- 33:08battle battle room, like a battle Bay.
- 33:09And like it's like 1 big old room is just a big old concrete
- 33:12walls. And they would put us in there,
- 33:13shut the door. They're like nobody leave until
- 33:14these walls are sweating. And we would.
- 33:16Yeah, it was bad. Yeah.
- 33:18Everyone. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 33:20They're like, they'll make you do this thing.
- 33:22I think it's called Superman, Like the floor.
- 33:25It would be everybody's swelled by the floor, but they'd make
- 33:27you like do this and pull yourself.
- 33:29But it was so sweaty you couldn't pull.
- 33:30Yourself. They'd be yelling at you.
- 33:33They'd be like, that's just sucked.
- 33:35Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're like, oh, yeah.
- 33:38You're like the trauma, it's coming back, the trauma.
- 33:40But this was like I need a drink it out for real.
- 33:44These are like and then like when we went to basic train, we
- 33:46went to Fort Leonard Wood. Well, I went to Fort Leonard
- 33:49Wood. I went to South Carolina,
- 33:51whatever. That so where I was at in Fort
- 33:53Leonard Wood, like where we stayed at the barracks that we
- 33:55stayed and we're like old, like the building was super old and
- 33:58like it was just run down a little bad.
- 34:00But I think now that everything's all renovated and
- 34:02whatnot, I think they changed a lot of the regulations of the
- 34:04Army now. Like our PT test back in the day
- 34:07was a little different now from what it is now.
- 34:09I don't know really exactly how it is now, but you know, shout
- 34:12out my fellow Army buddies and they're still out there.
- 34:16We have a lot of friends still in the Army.
- 34:18We came in contact with them. That's another thing we do with
- 34:20the, so we was in an engineer company here and we was at the
- 34:24226 engineer company in Augusta, right?
- 34:26So it's an engineer company where they do a focus on a lot
- 34:29of construction or like natural disaster, like rescue or like
- 34:34recovery, like like picking stuff up.
- 34:36And so like whenever they have projects and they need
- 34:40electrical help, they'll call us.
- 34:41And we've collaborated with projects with, with them and we
- 34:44don't charge them or nothing. We're like, we'll do with you
- 34:45guys. And, you know, so we've had some
- 34:48good times where we we still got to see our old Army friends and
- 34:50whatnot when we do collaborations on those
- 34:52projects. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 34:54Yeah. I want to hear about a time
- 34:56where you guys made your whole team have to pay for something
- 35:00that you guys either slept too long for.
- 35:02And then what? That punishment was the talking.
- 35:06About like in the army, Yeah. Oh man, I.
- 35:09It was never on me. It was never on.
- 35:12Yeah, you just, you're like, I'm not saying.
- 35:14But there was, I mean, there was people like.
- 35:18They would go. Find the you know, and they'd
- 35:21find the person that was like lease in shape and they would
- 35:23pick on them like, you know, everybody do this push ups and
- 35:26if he if he doesn't make it, then everybody's getting you
- 35:29know, so everybody's like, come on, like he doesn't make it now,
- 35:32you know, so he can't be mad at that.
- 35:33But like it's, I didn't really think there was any times.
- 35:37Like, no, you don't. Like you say, you don't really
- 35:39get mad at each other. Teammate, you know, you're
- 35:41always. Most of the time it's like, you
- 35:44know, you know, that sucks, but also everybody's doing the same
- 35:46thing together. So we're all in together.
- 35:48We're trying to build that, you know.
- 35:51So what'd you do that made everyone?
- 35:53I never did my same thing. I never got it.
- 35:55But I will say one time I did like I had a good, like one of
- 35:58the drill sergeants sent me to go do like I had to go get some
- 36:01paperwork or something on another level.
- 36:03And like I'm walking by this room where they're getting
- 36:05chewed out by their drill Sergeant.
- 36:06Not even my platoon, it's a whole different platoon and they
- 36:09just grabbed me and put me in there with them.
- 36:10I'm like damn, I'm getting smoked with the whole amplitude.
- 36:12I'm not even with and I got fucked up and.
- 36:16You're like at wrong place, wrong time.
- 36:18That's exactly what it was. I'm like, I'm just here to grab
- 36:20paperwork to like get your ass in there.
- 36:21I'm like fuck you're. Like, yes Sir, I'm going.
- 36:25Yeah, and I got, I got smoked. It's all good though.
- 36:29Just a lot of experiences, but it was cool.
- 36:30But that like that was just basic training.
- 36:32And then after that, like the engineer company we was in is
- 36:34very chill. We didn't have, I mean, they
- 36:36didn't do that actually in your job title.
- 36:39They don't do that there. So yeah, yeah, you're pretty
- 36:41much there working. It's a job, yeah.
- 36:44OK, so So what would you guys say something that the military
- 36:47gave you and then something that maybe that it took from you and
- 36:52it. For me, it gave me a lot of
- 36:53great friendships. I still talk to a lot of great
- 36:55battle buddies. Yeah, that's it.
- 36:58Took from me. I don't think it took anything
- 37:00from me. You were perfect when you first
- 37:02got there. It didn't take away your, your,
- 37:04your fear or something and didn't take, you know what I
- 37:06mean? Like it didn't take anything.
- 37:09No, not really. I just like like for me, like
- 37:11I'm very family oriented. Like that's, that's one thing I
- 37:13did suck. Like when I left.
- 37:15I hate that I had to leave my family, you know, like, I'm
- 37:17really close to my mom and my siblings.
- 37:19And so just being gone away from them, that was my first time
- 37:22being like, gone like that. And then you don't have no cell
- 37:25phone access, like none of that stuff.
- 37:26Like when I was there, we had to write letters, you know what I'm
- 37:29saying? So he was only communicating 2.
- 37:30Letters and whatnot. Like dear family today I did.
- 37:33Yeah, pretty much. But Mom, I'm really happy.
- 37:38Hey Mom, what did you have for dinner?
- 37:40I really missed your cookie. Oh yeah.
- 37:42For. Real.
- 37:43Can you please make me somole when I get home?
- 37:46Yeah, their food. They cook.
- 37:47They cook all their food with no salt.
- 37:49No, there's nothing that's bland.
- 37:50Super bland. And then you have MRE's.
- 37:52You know what, MRE? Is the the packets right?
- 37:55Yeah, you have to eat those like every day.
- 37:57That shit was nasty. Steven, what about you?
- 38:03Said what is? What is something that the
- 38:04military gave you and something that it took from you?
- 38:08I think it gave me confidence. It gave me prior like leadership
- 38:16skills. I've been, I don't know about
- 38:20taking anything, but I think time, but I mean, I don't think
- 38:24I regret joining the military. Being the military I was.
- 38:28I think it put me to where I needed to be, you know, today
- 38:33and I enjoyed it. You know, everything.
- 38:35I went on deployment to Afghanistan for a year.
- 38:38That was just tough for, you know, obviously family kids
- 38:42here, so. How old were your kids at that
- 38:45time? 2010 so they would have been
- 38:533:00 and 1:00. Oh, that is tough, Yeah.
- 38:57Yeah. But like, also tough on you.
- 39:00Yeah. You know.
- 39:01Yeah, for sure. Probably more on you.
- 39:03Well, like 'cause then you get back.
- 39:05How long were you gone for? One year.
- 39:06One year? Well, still, I mean like, you
- 39:08know, they're very impressionable still or like if
- 39:11you're not around enough, you know, and then they're and then
- 39:13they might not recognize you. I don't know.
- 39:15Those are stuff that I used to I.
- 39:16Mean they were younger, so it wasn't really I think it's it
- 39:20didn't really affect too much. Oh, OK.
- 39:22But yeah, it was, I mean, I liked, you know, you don't
- 39:27really these days, you know, you don't write people's letters.
- 39:30I, I liked that, you know, the feeling of not knowing when
- 39:34you're going to get like a care package is what they call it.
- 39:37So like, you know, my mom would write letters and put stuff in a
- 39:40box because stuff you can't get over there.
- 39:43So they'll send it to you and you just, you know, that's an
- 39:46exciting thing because then you're like, OK, now you got
- 39:48whatever she sent and then letters like, and then you write
- 39:50a letter back. So like stuff like that.
- 39:52I, you know, I still enjoyed it. It's just I think being away, I
- 39:56think what it I needed though at that point I was, you know, you
- 39:59get to work out every day, You know, it's.
- 40:02You can focus on, you know, other things except for instead
- 40:05of like when you're here, you're just always so busy.
- 40:08You feel like you have to do something.
- 40:09But when you're there, your time slows down and you feel like at
- 40:13some point I was kind of like I could be here for.
- 40:16I feel less stressed here than being back in the in the regular
- 40:19world because the expectation is this your job and you get off.
- 40:23You don't have to worry about the other things.
- 40:25You don't have to. You're not driving anywhere.
- 40:27You're not, you know, so I enjoyed it.
- 40:30Yeah, yeah. Do you like with care packages
- 40:33and writing letters? Is that something that you guys
- 40:36are now romantic with or? No, you don't do that.
- 40:39I haven't done it in a while, not since.
- 40:40You're like, fuck that shit, no one's getting a letter from me.
- 40:43But like he said, it was those days whenever we got the mail,
- 40:47like mail calls in, it was. And like I said, it's because
- 40:49you're just out there. You're like, you know, you're
- 40:51just, you don't have nobody. You're.
- 40:52Imagine, Imagine what a girl would feel like if you guys
- 40:56wrote them a little letter. Get that Dear John letter.
- 41:03Corey said fuck no. He said fuck all that.
- 41:11So OK, let's kind of switch a little bit back into you were
- 41:14saying a little bit about like even you, you got to focus on
- 41:16other things You were working out on your body.
- 41:18Let's come back a little bit to ERC.
- 41:21So why didn't you guys kind of name it?
- 41:24Well, E because you're a Lee Electric Company ERC.
- 41:29Yeah, Where the? Where the?
- 41:30Fuck is it? OK, I was like where the fuck?
- 41:33I think I. Got a blonde moment there.
- 41:35Yeah, I did. I did.
- 41:36I did. I was like, what?
- 41:39It wasn't. It wasn't adding up.
- 41:41I'll let Steven touch on that because they started it.
- 41:43So what was the question? Yeah.
- 41:44When did you guys start it? What?
- 41:45Was it? Yeah.
- 41:47Was it last year? Yeah, it was.
- 41:49Last year and I'm going to refill while I'm listening.
- 41:52I can refill. Yeah, it was last year.
- 41:54So I mean, maybe two years ago we were running pretty heavy in
- 41:58the summer, and then this last year we started running again
- 42:03and this is me, Luigi and Sana. And then we were like, well,
- 42:09there's, I don't know, just kind of like, hey, there's some other
- 42:12people that. Want to run to?
- 42:14So we're just like, hey, let's start meeting.
- 42:16I think I watched. There's a Dallas run club, it's
- 42:20called Run It Up and they have a it's huge, but it looked like a
- 42:26lot of fun. You know, it's like building
- 42:28community. You know, every people meeting I
- 42:30was like, oh, we should do that here.
- 42:31You know, let's get all of our friends together and just do
- 42:37something that we're already doing together.
- 42:39Why not just bring other people in and kind of build that that
- 42:42community? Yeah, so I kind of came down to
- 42:44like, you know, we have a big friend following and they were
- 42:47just like, hey, you know, we want to go run with you guys
- 42:49too. So we kind of just already
- 42:50started like having more people come with us and whatnot.
- 42:53And then we start collaborating with like other run clubs too.
- 42:57So like, you know, Fortune 88 with Cole, you know, he's he's
- 43:00killing it right now, Jake with was it run, run three, win six.
- 43:05Yeah, they're growing pretty big.
- 43:07So like going out and and collaborating with these run
- 43:10clubs and whatnot. And it's like, I don't know,
- 43:13it's just like it's all movement and like it's so great to be a
- 43:16part of it now, you know, Oh, you're that elite run club guy.
- 43:18Like, yeah, that's, that's me, you know, and when you guys meet
- 43:21together and all stuff and like, it started off, like I said, it
- 43:23start off with just a few of us and now just seeing how slowly
- 43:26we've been growing, like a lot of people just showing up and
- 43:28showing out. And so it's not a requirement.
- 43:31That's why I'd like to see people pull up because they want
- 43:33to help themselves in one way or another.
- 43:36And we're there to support them and help them any way we can,
- 43:39you know what I'm saying? So it's just it's great to see
- 43:41that growth within everybody, within themselves.
- 43:44I wouldn't, I'm curious more like, 'cause I, you guys have
- 43:47mentioned Sana a couple of times, so is she related to you
- 43:49guys? Is she part?
- 43:50Of no, she's, that's my daughter's mom.
- 43:52Yeah, my youngest, yeah, yeah. So she does all the videos she
- 43:57does. Maybe she now she does
- 43:58everything. She pretty much does all of it.
- 44:00And then I we just show. Up yeah, so she runs the ERC
- 44:02pretty much that's why I wanted to mention Sana.
- 44:04She runs the ERC, but we help her with the events we help her
- 44:07with the training and all that stuff.
- 44:09So like she like like approached me with a hey Luigi, like what
- 44:11do you think about doing the Tuesday training?
- 44:13You know, cause a lot of people want to do some hit training and
- 44:15you do pretty good. I'm just like, cool, I'll do it.
- 44:17And then same thing with tiny. You know, Sana approached Tiny
- 44:20and asked her to help as well and then, you know, just Steve
- 44:22and helping with the with the events at one time.
- 44:24So yeah, we kind of just all help each other and whatnot.
- 44:27Yeah, I love it. It's all in the family, you
- 44:30know, Or like, eventually, like, all the friends turn into
- 44:33family. Yeah.
- 44:34For sure, and that's the thing like it's we're big, you know,
- 44:36elite run club family. Like I said today like it was
- 44:39our first time back together fully and since what?
- 44:42Probably the prayer fire. Yeah, well, we didn't running
- 44:45yet. We we did a karaoke night.
- 44:46Oh yeah, so that's another thing too.
- 44:48So on top of the running like, we don't just like get together
- 44:51to do running you. Also dream.
- 44:52Yeah, so we it. Sounds like a reenactment of us.
- 44:56So that you would have joined if you came on Sunday.
- 44:59Had you got. Yeah.
- 45:00I mean, you purchased, but you didn't come.
- 45:02So like, also, you guys just kind of fucked up of them.
- 45:05Sorry. I'm kidding.
- 45:06I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 45:07I'm sorry. I forgot you had an emergency.
- 45:08But we had a. Steven, it's fucked up of you.
- 45:11I still support that pay, yeah. Hey.
- 45:16Exactly. You're helping us keep the light
- 45:18lights on. And I was going to say the other
- 45:19thing, but then I was like, Nah. So I guess like outside of like,
- 45:23so we kind of like fell off a little bit after the cold kind
- 45:25of hit us, but we still want to keep everybody together and
- 45:28motivated and whatnot. So we had like last month we did
- 45:30a adult skate night. So we all went to Carousel, had
- 45:33like adult skate night with everybody and then this past.
- 45:36It's fun to fall together. Yeah, yeah, that's like probably
- 45:39the worst thing we could have probably done.
- 45:40I'm going to go injure ourselves before our run season starts,
- 45:43huh? But.
- 45:44There is something. About like.
- 45:46Embarrassing yourself together, you know what I mean?
- 45:49But and then last weekend we did, like I said, karaoke night
- 45:52and we had it at our shop and it was pretty cool.
- 45:54Everybody had a good time. Oh yeah, I think I saw something
- 45:57that you guys posted. About Yeah, yeah, we did like a
- 45:59little karaoke night had like a potluck style.
- 46:00Everybody brought food, everybody brought BYOB, bring
- 46:02your own drinks. And we was there and everybody
- 46:05was nervous at first, but once the drinks kicked in, everybody
- 46:07was fighting for the microphone. What?
- 46:09Was the song that you guys went? What was your go to song?
- 46:11Should. We do a lot of regulators.
- 46:13We do some regulators, alright. We're rappers.
- 46:15Alright, we don't sing around. No, you don't wanna see it.
- 46:18You gotta pay. You gotta pay to see that you
- 46:19later. That's great.
- 46:21That's you gotta pay to see that the more show up.
- 46:25Yeah, Hey, we were going to have it in our playlist.
- 46:28I took, I took it off because I thought you were going to keep
- 46:30that song on. And so then like, and then we
- 46:32fucked up because both of us took it off.
- 46:35Yeah, we both had to. We both took it off.
- 46:38My little sisters called me. He's got, you know, some Warren
- 46:40G and some. That was the first song I
- 46:46committed to memory when I was like 4.
- 46:49I think everybody should know the lyrics.
- 46:51And my babysitter was like, you shouldn't know all the words of
- 46:55that song. You know, like. 4.
- 46:57Like. I think you should know the
- 47:00lyrics. If you don't know the lyrics, at
- 47:02least know the mound up. Yeah, yeah.
- 47:04Yeah, yeah, man. And you're not going to rap for
- 47:08us. Nah.
- 47:08I'm not going to rap. You got to pay for that or give
- 47:11me some more, or you got to get more drinks.
- 47:13You know, yeah. Yeah, I know.
- 47:15Yeah, I don't. I'll be I'll be D Jing for free
- 47:18or nothing. Exactly.
- 47:20You don't get a full hour mix out of me.
- 47:22You get the 20 minute mix. For free.
- 47:25Yeah. So, but yeah, that's part of
- 47:27like I said at the end of the day, it's all popped to growth,
- 47:29helping each other out, pushing each other.
- 47:32I know these this year we already like we have a big group
- 47:34chat of everybody and we're just kind of like touching back base
- 47:36with everybody and see what what we got planned this year.
- 47:39Yeah. Are you guys on?
- 47:40Do you use Messenger or WhatsApp?
- 47:43No, we have just everything on Snapchat, OK, just a big old
- 47:45group chat Snapchat, and then we just keep adding members as they
- 47:48come. On Oh my God, Snapchat is now
- 47:50going to charge us for like having to the memory on it like
- 47:56have you guys not seen that yet? Are you guys going to pay for
- 47:58it? I don't.
- 47:58Know I don't have Snapchat. So how do you stay in the chat?
- 48:01I tell them yeah. That's where you need WhatsApp
- 48:06or Messenger. We use Messenger and I use
- 48:08WhatsApp with like other friends instead.
- 48:10Well, the FBI is watching you on the Snapchat.
- 48:12Now you hear about that girl that got.
- 48:14No. What happened?
- 48:16Had a group chat, she put something in there and police
- 48:19showed up to her school I. Think yeah, I think she said
- 48:21like, oh, there was some little girl something they were like on
- 48:24a group chat and say something about her boyfriend and like,
- 48:26oh, I'm going to kill him or something like or something kind
- 48:28of thing. Yeah, some crazy thing,
- 48:29something like that and BI showed up.
- 48:33I seen somewhere something like that be.
- 48:34Careful with your Snapchat. Yeah, be careful.
- 48:35What you say be. Careful with Snapchat.
- 48:37I mean, apparently according to the recently released 3,000,000
- 48:41Epstein files, they're watching all the emails and stuff
- 48:45anyways. That's true.
- 48:46That's true. Wait, I thought, I thought that
- 48:48was because like they took his stuff.
- 48:51Well, that's why he had to. They had to talk in codes and
- 48:53stuff because they're being watched already.
- 48:57Yeah. We see that new movie that came
- 48:58out recently with Chris Pratt called Mercy.
- 49:01You've seen their previews. I haven't seen that one.
- 49:02It's like, it's like, it's like it's called the mercy program
- 49:05where everything's AI, like the whole judge like program is like
- 49:09AI and like they can they give you like night.
- 49:12Like if you're convicted of like, I guess like the movie,
- 49:14he's like convicted of murdering his wife and they gave you 90
- 49:16minutes to prove your innocence through AI.
- 49:20So like, and you have access to everything.
- 49:22And it's crazy what they pull up.
- 49:23Like they tap into phones, cameras, like everything you
- 49:27know, and you can ask for it. So it makes me wonder, like what
- 49:29they really tap into these days. Right, right.
- 49:31They're tapping into our podcast for real.
- 49:33They're. Probably watching.
- 49:34This. They're probably laughing.
- 49:35Because I'm so much fun. They're like, man, I want to
- 49:39drink with her. They see her hair like no threat
- 49:41there. No threat there, she's just
- 49:44mentally broken. That's a blue hair.
- 49:51Fanny, we're good. That's funny.
- 49:55Oh, shit, no. But yeah, Snapchat is I I'm
- 49:57curious what people are. Yeah, like Snapchat right now is
- 49:59saying that like you have to pay.
- 50:02Look, hold on. I show you.
- 50:03I show you. You must have a lot of photos or
- 50:05something. There I do that's.
- 50:06It that's your. Problem a memory every day.
- 50:08For real, that's you. Four years ago, I've had it
- 50:10forever. I've had it.
- 50:11I've had it too forever but never asked me anything.
- 50:13No, OK, 'cause the cloud storage full 23.1 GB.
- 50:18Probably like 20,000. Out of five, Yeah, dude, 'cause
- 50:21like, you know, I had Snapchat since, like, it started, OK,
- 50:24right, 'cause I mean, Snapchat's not that old.
- 50:26But then I guess when you think about it, I guess we're old.
- 50:28But speak for yourself. Well, I'm younger than you.
- 50:31I'm the youngest one here, actually.
- 50:33Kidding, but. Let's not talk about age on the.
- 50:38Yeah, we're not. Talking about age.
- 50:39Thank God. Yeah, yeah.
- 50:41But yeah, no, now it's charging you, which like, I never really
- 50:45saved my like, I used it like as a separate storage, you know
- 50:49what I mean? Like if I was like with my
- 50:51friends or whatever and you know, you're recording, I used
- 50:53it as a storage there 'cause you know how you can store it there
- 50:56and then you don't put it in your photo album or whatever,
- 50:59'cause it was just easier and they won all my shit everywhere.
- 51:02And so now I'm like, fuck, do I have to transfer all this shit?
- 51:05Well, wasn't there a point where people's Snapchats were just
- 51:08deleting or something like that and they lost all their
- 51:09memories? See, that's what I'm saying.
- 51:12I think I've seen something like.
- 51:12That and now they're going to charge you.
- 51:15How much are they charging though?
- 51:16What, like a dollar? I, I I'm not going to pay
- 51:19though. Actually, yeah, I didn't think
- 51:23I'm thinking you're not wrong. OK, so it's you're.
- 51:27Definitely paying for that. So OK, so it's monthly 490-9199
- 51:33per month for 250 gigs of storage.
- 51:36Annual is 199 per month. And then you can do platinum
- 51:39which is $14.00. You were right.
- 51:41You're so I'm paying though that shit.
- 51:46I'm like that's I'm the worst person like to because like I do
- 51:50apps, but I'm the worst type of user to design for it, which is
- 51:54good, I guess, because like it keeps me honest and it keeps me
- 51:56like, how do I make sure that people want to use this?
- 51:59But like I am that user that like I never want to give my
- 52:02e-mail. I don't want to fucking pay for
- 52:04the subscription. And no, you cannot.
- 52:07Every time it asks for me for the cookies.
- 52:09Nope, you can't get access to my cookies.
- 52:12I'm always like, no, no, no, to everything.
- 52:15And then like I'll be in the meetings talking about this
- 52:17business strategy of it, and I'm like, yeah, I think it's really
- 52:20good that we capture the cookies because then we can track
- 52:22retention. Yeah.
- 52:24Well, that thing that you showed me the day of the monarch, I
- 52:25didn't realize how many subscriptions I had on my prime.
- 52:28And I'm like, oh, fuck yeah. So like he was showing me like
- 52:31this new financial like thing that kind of organized your
- 52:34finances and stuff and your money.
- 52:36Monarch. It's called Monarch Yeah and
- 52:38like out and it and it brings up all you just you just attach all
- 52:41your accounts and it. I didn't realize I was paying
- 52:43for some shit on prime. I was like what the fuck, I'm
- 52:44paying for this, so I'm like going through and like clearing
- 52:48my finances up a little bit more.
- 52:50I mean, believe it or not, like it's not much, but it adds up
- 52:52it. Adds up.
- 52:53It adds up, though. It adds up.
- 52:54Yeah. Yeah, the rich, yeah.
- 52:57Yeah, I put my referral link in the.
- 52:59There you go. $50 off. Yeah.
- 53:02I think. So bad.
- 53:04Hey, if you want to come on the pod as a sponsor, please hit me
- 53:09up. We're here's to
- 53:10youpod@gmail.com, Here's to you cast on Instagram and here's to
- 53:16you pod on TikTok. So reach out to us.
- 53:18We do have sponsorships. Like when have you got tequila,
- 53:21One Life Spirit who sponsors this and allied health career
- 53:24and training. So, Speaking of sponsors.
- 53:26Why you guys want to sponsor us? You know what?
- 53:30We've sponsored. So much or in the last couple
- 53:32years and we're as you should I'm not gonna lie, we're kind of
- 53:34pulling back a little bit. Oh, that's like that'll just I'm
- 53:36not Eddie Pans, Eddie Pans. But like before we would say yes
- 53:40to everybody and everything. I mean, we was sponsoring Little
- 53:43League baseball. We were sponsoring what was it
- 53:46soccer. We were sponsoring events, we
- 53:48were spotting and then like finally, like when Mike came and
- 53:50we broke down our. Finances.
- 53:51Oh, I bet. Yeah, 'cause.
- 53:52He's a spot. Yeah, yeah, he was like.
- 53:54Yeah, we need to cut back on all this.
- 53:56Just saying yes to everybody because we're just too nice.
- 53:58We don't want to say, you know, we feel bad.
- 54:00You know, we want to help the kids.
- 54:01We want to help everybody, you know, the nonprofits and
- 54:03everything. But it does add up it.
- 54:05Does add up? A lot.
- 54:06But one thing about what the Elite Academy though they are
- 54:09looking it's a nonprofit organization.
- 54:11It'll be a nonprofit, so we'll be looking for, you know,
- 54:14sponsors, partners. You should get with Empower.
- 54:18Have you have you talked to Libya, Libya over at Empower?
- 54:22You should talk to her. OK, sorry, sorry.
- 54:25Hey, shut up. Lydia haven't reach out to you
- 54:27soon. Well, you know, the thing about
- 54:29like what I want to point out to is like, so a lot of people when
- 54:32they think of like high school and getting high school,
- 54:35everybody thinks you automatically have to go to
- 54:36college. Yeah, right.
- 54:38There's trades schools that are cheaper, pastor.
- 54:42I mean, there's so many ways to do it.
- 54:43I didn't know about like when I was of like out of high school,
- 54:46like I grew up Latino. My mom, like, you know, she
- 54:49raised us thinking you have to work a nine to five and you have
- 54:52to go or go to school and go to college, right?
- 54:54You know, 'cause I mean, like, that's the American dream that
- 54:56was sold to all immigrants. Stuff.
- 54:58Like any immigrant, right? Like you were sold that too.
- 55:01Like that's the American dream is that you can get a house and
- 55:03that you can get own a car. And that's through working in
- 55:07eight to five and going to school.
- 55:09Exactly. So like when I graduated high
- 55:11school, when I, I got, I, I dropped out, I got my GD, but I
- 55:14went to AI was, I know I was kind of bad in school, but my
- 55:19sisters live out for that. But like I, I went to college,
- 55:22like I went to college and I, I built up this tuition and I
- 55:25never even finished college just because I just, I didn't enjoy
- 55:27what I was doing. And then I found out about the
- 55:29trade schools and the trade schools were like way cheaper.
- 55:31And it's like I said, it's not, it's something you take with you
- 55:34the rest of your life, you know, as an electrician, whether it's
- 55:37electricity or plumber, HVAC, like mechanical, I mean,
- 55:41everything there's, there's different trades.
- 55:43I'm not saying become an electrician.
- 55:44There's so many trades out there, but that's what we want
- 55:46to show. Currently cutting hair and being
- 55:48a hair stylist is. Awesome.
- 55:49I mean, that's what I'm saying. There's so many things.
- 55:51They come in, they come in with their, I like those reels when
- 55:54they come in where they're like, we're a trade and then they're
- 55:56like wearing the overalls and everything.
- 55:57But like, a lot of kids don't know that.
- 55:59Yeah, a lot of these kids do not know that.
- 56:01Like I said, they think. Because you're not exposed to it
- 56:03exactly. So that's why we want to kind of
- 56:05promote like if anybody wants to know more about how they become,
- 56:09they can become electrician or if they don't want to be
- 56:10electrician or a plumber or or mechanic, like whatever, we can
- 56:13help and point them in the right direction for sure.
- 56:15Yeah. So that's one thing we want to
- 56:17like put out there just to kind of help with those that, you
- 56:20know, maybe their kids have a vision or want to do something
- 56:22'cause we get people asking us now a lot more, hey, how like,
- 56:25how do I get a license? And we tell them the process.
- 56:28There's a full process to it. Right.
- 56:30Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think that's true
- 56:32though, like because going to college and doing all that
- 56:36honest, I mean, I went that route, but it's not, I'm not
- 56:39dogging it either. I think it's just not for
- 56:41everyone, you know what I mean? And I think that's important
- 56:44though. Like that we know that like it
- 56:45doesn't have to be and you don't need to feel bad about that.
- 56:49Like there are so many options for you.
- 56:51And then there's also so many like as, as you continue to grow
- 56:54in life and you're just like constantly.
- 56:57Changing well, let me just say this, I'm not going to throw a
- 56:59full blown dollar amount, exact dollar amount, but you can get
- 57:02your full journeyman's electrical license in 4 1/2
- 57:05years for around 10 to 15,000. And what are college costs now
- 57:09what we're just talking about? Yeah, colleges cost like, well,
- 57:11how much credit Like it's, it's amazing.
- 57:15One class is like. $15 it's crazy, you know, So there's a
- 57:20lot of famous. I can't afford that a lot, you
- 57:21know, some of these kids don't get that scholarship or the ride
- 57:24or anything like that, you know, so they have to find a way to
- 57:26get that or there's other routes too.
- 57:29Yeah, for sure. So that's one thing we want to
- 57:31help and promote with the Academy.
- 57:33If they want information on that, we can help them on that,
- 57:35you know? Come out with a very good paying
- 57:38job. I mean you and that's.
- 57:39Another thing, and that the trades are growing.
- 57:41Right. Well, The thing is too, there's.
- 57:42No one going into trade. And then another thing with it
- 57:44though, too, is you work while you go to school, so you're
- 57:46getting paid while you're going to school.
- 57:48Look at that. He's a salesman.
- 57:49No, I'm being serious. Like.
- 57:52Hey, coming out in April to a town near you.
- 57:54August. Oh, August, coming out in August
- 57:592020, sixth to a town near you. But I mean, what's it called
- 58:02again? Elite Apprenticeship Academy.
- 58:04Elite Apprenticeship Academy, we're here to turn you on.
- 58:09That's the motto. That's if I have my shirt on.
- 58:12All our shirts. Have it?
- 58:13You mean if you have your shirt off?
- 58:16You have one of those? Do you have one of those those?
- 58:18We gave you guys some cars and senses and they have them on
- 58:20there and we get commented on those all the time.
- 58:23They love them. Let me see that.
- 58:24Check it out and you can check out we bought that merch for you
- 58:28guys. That was the worst throw you
- 58:30could ever hear to turn. You on?
- 58:32Well, I tell you, I'm not playing.
- 58:33That's our motto. I like it.
- 58:34I like it. Throw it again.
- 58:36I'm kidding. He's going to hit my head.
- 58:40Oh, they're you. Can have the winter.
- 58:42Ice, What do you think it was? Winter, can I open it?
- 58:44Go for it, I want to smell it. Go for it, make a car smell.
- 58:47Smell it? You guys hear that?
- 58:50That's really good. This is what Enter Ice smells
- 58:53like. I'll tell you real quick.
- 58:57Smells very fresh. Oh my God I'm turning myself on.
- 59:00It works. I'm there bro.
- 59:09It's funny though, because our shirts have them on the back and
- 59:11it says, you know, our logo on the front and then the back says
- 59:13here to turn you on and then it says call da da da da.
- 59:16Yeah. And hey, no this.
- 59:17Amount of comments we get for that model, it's it's hilarious.
- 59:20I love it. I love it.
- 59:21Hey, no, this smells really good.
- 59:22Smelly. I'm I'm not kidding.
- 59:24That was that was just for the ad.
- 59:25That's for the clip. Oh yeah, it does.
- 59:29That's very fresh. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:33It's like fresh laundry. We need, we need to make more.
- 59:35Yeah, Every. Those are a hit.
- 59:37Those are a hit. We always ask people those are a
- 59:39hit. Everybody would ask us to make
- 59:40more of them. And and the people even leave
- 59:42them just hanging, even though that scent's gone.
- 59:44Like, we still have your logo here.
- 59:45Thank you. Appreciate.
- 59:46That. No, I do like this.
- 59:48Yeah, you guys should. Yeah, I like this idea.
- 59:52You know, sometimes like that's what sucks is like when you make
- 59:54merch, it's like you need to make it functional that
- 59:57someone's going to want to use. You know what I mean?
- 59:59We have. We have chapsticks too.
- 1:00:00Oh, oh, wait, I liked your. I liked your Christmas sweater.
- 1:00:04Oh. You liked that?
- 1:00:05That was cool. Nice.
- 1:00:06Yeah, he had the idea for. That those were cool Instagram
- 1:00:10yeah I'm going to we're going to have to put so we have your
- 1:00:13picture here. Sorry, Dusty or editing.
- 1:00:15So we have. So we were supposed to do a five
- 1:00:18year anniversary the year before and we never got a chance to do
- 1:00:21it because we got busy. So last year we did our six year
- 1:00:23anniversary Christmas party and he had the idea of us, me, Mike
- 1:00:28and Steven. We had custom elite.
- 1:00:30It was like, 'cause it was like a ugly sweater contest.
- 1:00:32So we made like some custom elite sweater, you know.
- 1:00:36So I wonder if they were ugly, but they were cool.
- 1:00:38No, they were. Cool.
- 1:00:39They're not. Ugly.
- 1:00:40They're cool. They were pretty.
- 1:00:41Cool, they were cool. Like I'd rock that for.
- 1:00:42Sure. Yeah, we got a lot of
- 1:00:43compliments on them. So it's pretty cool.
- 1:00:44Yeah. No, I liked them.
- 1:00:45I liked them. So I want to know like, OK,
- 1:00:50stepping out a little bit from all the business, from all the
- 1:00:52running, from building ourselves up and then like it just kind of
- 1:00:55coming back to who we are as people, right?
- 1:00:57So like let's kind of who we are without the acolytes, without
- 1:01:02the names, without this. So if Elite disappeared
- 1:01:06tomorrow, would you say you guys are?
- 1:01:11Go ahead. Like what would I do or who am
- 1:01:15I? Yeah, Who?
- 1:01:16Who are you? I don't think about what you
- 1:01:18know. We're not here to glorify all
- 1:01:19the. Capitalist, let's say if elite
- 1:01:22disappeared tomorrow, I would be, I mean, I would still be a
- 1:01:25father. I've recently gotten back into
- 1:01:31church, so that's something that I'm pushing this year.
- 1:01:37And then I don't know, I think I'm just a someone who wants to
- 1:01:42help as many people as I can. So I I don't know what I would
- 1:01:48do. But those are things that
- 1:01:51probably be a golfer. Play golf every day.
- 1:01:54I love that. Yeah.
- 1:01:55Smelling the grass, yeah, right, 'cause I would.
- 1:01:58Yeah. The grass on the golf course is
- 1:02:00really. Nice.
- 1:02:02We go to, we go to drink. When you gonna actually golf?
- 1:02:07He'd be whipping around the golf.
- 1:02:08Cart, you know what we play and we play decent, but we're really
- 1:02:12there to drink and have a good time.
- 1:02:14We went yesterday, we went yesterday.
- 1:02:15It was paddling him back and. I thought you guys went this
- 1:02:17morning, so that was yesterday. OK, OK, OK.
- 1:02:21Yeah, OK. Luigi, who are you?
- 1:02:23I'm Luigi. Oh, sorry, Luigi or Louise, what
- 1:02:27do you prefer? So I've been calling you Louise
- 1:02:28on. This whole thing, No, it's all
- 1:02:30good. So my real name's Louise.
- 1:02:32When I was a baby, my family gave me the nickname Luigi and
- 1:02:35it's stuck. And it's been that my whole
- 1:02:37life. So my friends and family that
- 1:02:39really know me are close to me. They all call me Luigi.
- 1:02:41So and I prefer Luigi. Honestly, I prefer Luigi.
- 1:02:44And it's funny though, because like my mom and my Dias and
- 1:02:46everybody, they're all he kind of, and they have that accent.
- 1:02:49So like when they say it, they can't say Luigi, so they say
- 1:02:51Luigi. And it's so funny, but.
- 1:02:54That's what they call me. Literally everybody called me.
- 1:02:56It was funny because one of my cousins yesterday, I was at my
- 1:02:57aunt's house and then one of my cousins called me Louise.
- 1:03:00And everybody looked at him like, who the fuck is Louise?
- 1:03:02And then they're like, that's Luigi.
- 1:03:05So that's I I prefer Luigi. OK, OK.
- 1:03:07I'm sorry. Have a tattoo mommy and
- 1:03:09everything. Am I your friend now that I can?
- 1:03:10Just call you Luigi. Call Luigi, yes.
- 1:03:12You heard that here first. So if Lee were to disappear, I
- 1:03:17mean, for me, I don't have any kids, I'm no girl, nothing.
- 1:03:22I'm just kind of like AI like to help people too.
- 1:03:25I've always felt like people. God put me on this earth to help
- 1:03:28other people before myself. So I put a lot of people before
- 1:03:31myself all the time. I'm going to continue to be that
- 1:03:33person. I'm not a St.
- 1:03:35I'm not I'm not perfect. I've had my, you know, mistakes
- 1:03:38in life, but I take all those mistakes as learning curves in
- 1:03:42my life. So but my thing is always to
- 1:03:45help somebody. So that's why I like I told you,
- 1:03:47I hate running, but I do it because I motivate people.
- 1:03:49I guess I don't know why, but I motivate them.
- 1:03:51That's why I do it with them. Working out, I love working out.
- 1:03:56That's it. I mean, like I took a big
- 1:03:57fitness journey these last two years.
- 1:03:59I kind of, I lost a lot of weight.
- 1:04:01I was a bigger dude and I've kind of got more into like
- 1:04:04building myself up more muscular, I guess you can say.
- 1:04:07And I really love fitness now. It's like my niche.
- 1:04:10So, so just sticking, just sticking with that, I guess and
- 1:04:13tattoos. Yeah, shut out.
- 1:04:16I'm the tattoo guy. Steven, are you, do you have
- 1:04:18any? Yeah, you.
- 1:04:19Do yes I. Don't you?
- 1:04:22Just look like I have. Any I can't even remember if you
- 1:04:24wore but do you have a sleeve? Though yeah, I have my whole
- 1:04:26chest, this arm, this whole leg. OK, I I figured you had sleeves,
- 1:04:30but then I was like, I didn't creep enough.
- 1:04:32Yeah. I don't.
- 1:04:34He's always just, you know. I mean, he's.
- 1:04:36Definitely. More, yeah, he's definitely more
- 1:04:38tatted, but I mean, I think, I think like to a point, I mean,
- 1:04:42you still have your chest and you have two sleeves.
- 1:04:44I think there's a point where you get to it where you're like,
- 1:04:47no, I only have like 1-2, three, you know what I mean?
- 1:04:50And you're probably like at a point where you're like, yeah, I
- 1:04:52have 123. Four.
- 1:04:54Here's the thing I get asked every day at the gym, How many
- 1:04:57tattoos do you have? And I'm just like one big one.
- 1:04:59Yeah. See what I mean though?
- 1:05:01That's how it feels. That's how it feels like when
- 1:05:03someone. Why the blue?
- 1:05:04Because I'm fucking cool. Leave me alone, Yeah.
- 1:05:07I was gonna ask three questions. How many do you have?
- 1:05:09How much did it cost and did it hurt?
- 1:05:11I'm like 1 big 11, big one. I don't know how much I spent.
- 1:05:14And they always fucking hurt. Yeah.
- 1:05:17So, I mean, I'm. I'm being serious, you know?
- 1:05:21Of course that's a fucking needle for fucking 8 to 10
- 1:05:24hours. It fucking hurts.
- 1:05:25Yeah. Do you like, do you guys like
- 1:05:27the tattoo paint? No, I hate it too.
- 1:05:30No. Yeah.
- 1:05:31I hate it. Like I'll start something big
- 1:05:33and then I'm like. Look, I'm going to be honest
- 1:05:34with you guys in front of everybody.
- 1:05:36Full disclosure, I went years, years of putting my whole body
- 1:05:39is like, well, I'm like 8085% covered for years with no
- 1:05:42numbing cream. And now I fucking use numbing
- 1:05:44cream. And I don't care what anybody
- 1:05:45says. I use numbing cream.
- 1:05:47I fucking use numbing cream. I don't give a shit.
- 1:05:49I put in my time. I use it now.
- 1:05:51Yeah, yeah, now I hear that. Do you use numbing cream yet or
- 1:05:54not? No, I haven't had to.
- 1:05:57I don't I'm done tattoo. I just.
- 1:05:59You're done with. You're probably done for a
- 1:06:01while. I'll probably get this leg, the
- 1:06:03rest of this leg done, but there's always room.
- 1:06:06Yeah, there's always room, There's always, there's always a
- 1:06:09little corner. Everybody you got a little.
- 1:06:11Corner, everybody always says like, aren't you fully done?
- 1:06:14Do you have any more space on? Like there's always room.
- 1:06:17There's a little corner we can fit something.
- 1:06:19In it's just, that's just who I am, though, like, so like my
- 1:06:21mom, like my mom very old school.
- 1:06:23She doesn't like, like tattoos and whatnot.
- 1:06:24Right. Yeah.
- 1:06:25So like growing up, like I was, I would get tattooed and like my
- 1:06:29mom would like, hit me on the head or something.
- 1:06:31Like, why'd you do that for her? And now it's like to a point
- 1:06:34where it's who I am and I get them.
- 1:06:36And like, she don't even like, realize it no more.
- 1:06:37Well, I mean, you're kind of covered.
- 1:06:39Yeah. Pretty much like you.
- 1:06:40Know where it's at, but she doesn't know where it's at.
- 1:06:42You know what I mean? Like.
- 1:06:44It's like I when I did my birds on my neck, it was like one day
- 1:06:46I was eating at her house. I didn't even tell her.
- 1:06:48And then like two months later she came in.
- 1:06:50She was like, when'd you do this?
- 1:06:51I'm like, no, I had it for like 2 months already.
- 1:06:54It's just, you know, like this is who I it's just part of who I
- 1:06:57am now. No, I get that.
- 1:06:58I was I was. I had gotten my calf and I'm not
- 1:07:01that tatted. I only have the outside and I
- 1:07:05had it's. Just such a weird way to put
- 1:07:10that. And so I had gotten my calf and
- 1:07:16then my dad, I was in the kitchen and I was wearing shorts
- 1:07:19and my dad was like, what the fuck?
- 1:07:20When did you get that? And I was like, man, I've had
- 1:07:22this for I've been around you in shorts for at least almost a
- 1:07:28year, which was a year when I got it a year ago.
- 1:07:33One thing like I try to do though, I like, I try to stay
- 1:07:35like professional, like I wasn't going to do my hand.
- 1:07:37There's no such thing as that. That's what I'm saying though,
- 1:07:39right? Like, 'cause like as a business
- 1:07:40owner, like I want to present myself where I can cover myself
- 1:07:43up and still present myself professional, right?
- 1:07:45But I feel like now tattoos is just a way of life, you know
- 1:07:47what I'm saying? And I've gotten more compliments
- 1:07:49about my tattoos and I've got any kind of negative looks or
- 1:07:52anything about me. So I finally caved in and I got
- 1:07:55my hands done. And shout out Emerson, Emerson
- 1:07:58did my hands. George Martinez is my other
- 1:08:00artist. He does all he's done.
- 1:08:01He's done all most of my work. But now it's just like I said,
- 1:08:04it's a way of life now. And if you have a way that you
- 1:08:07feel towards that person, I look a certain way I perceive like
- 1:08:10I'm a bad guy or something because of tattoos.
- 1:08:12Like that's your personal issue. Sounds like, 'cause I really am
- 1:08:15a big teddy bear. Yeah, yeah, no, I hear that.
- 1:08:18One of the nicest guys you probably ever meet so.
- 1:08:20Yeah, no, I got that. Yeah.
- 1:08:23I, I work, I work in corporate America.
- 1:08:25I feel like now at this point, like if I were to interview
- 1:08:29somewhere that's like, hey, you got to wear you cover that or
- 1:08:31change your hair. I'd be like, this is not the
- 1:08:33place that I need to be in because I'm.
- 1:08:35Not a culture. Fan.
- 1:08:36Like no, that's me too. Like now I go to my customers
- 1:08:39houses or when I meet with my GCS and I do my, you know, my
- 1:08:42meetings and whatnot. They love it.
- 1:08:44They always compliment it. I'm like, this is who I am.
- 1:08:46And then I built, honestly, I built some great relationships
- 1:08:48just because of my tattoos. Yeah, it's something that people
- 1:08:51feel like you're more human in a.
- 1:08:52Way. Oh yeah, for sure.
- 1:08:53You know what I mean? You're just like you're not,
- 1:08:55you're not perceived a certain way, I guess.
- 1:08:58But of course you you do still get the looks or the things in
- 1:09:02certain like sometimes like travelling out to certain
- 1:09:05countries, it's still illegal you.
- 1:09:07Know. Oh yeah, no, I've heard about
- 1:09:08that. I've seen, I've just seen
- 1:09:09something. Yeah, you still have to wear
- 1:09:11like a long sleeve if you're pretty.
- 1:09:12Really. Tatted in.
- 1:09:13Certain. Places.
- 1:09:14Yeah, certain places. Yeah, that you want to get into,
- 1:09:16like tattoos are illegal here. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:09:19I did see something like that where like they kind of frown
- 1:09:22upon if you have a lot of tattoos and whatnot.
- 1:09:24Yeah, but I mean. So it still kind of depends, but
- 1:09:27I mean, I think that's everywhere.
- 1:09:29But there is something about traveling that really opens your
- 1:09:31whole eyes to everything, yeah. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 1:09:34Definitely keeps you grounded. What would you guys say is like
- 1:09:38a version of success that you're still feeling like you're in
- 1:09:41learning? For me, real estate, I want to
- 1:09:45get to more real estate. So I have two rental properties
- 1:09:48right now. I want to get more heavily
- 1:09:52knowledgeable in real estate, eventually get to a point where
- 1:09:56I can purchase more properties and have that passive income.
- 1:09:59You know, that's like my goal is like real estate these next
- 1:10:01couple years. I want to tap in more into that.
- 1:10:03So that's one thing I want to learn a lot more.
- 1:10:06Do you have a team or do you do that by yourself?
- 1:10:07No, just me and Steven. Well, me and Steven have one
- 1:10:10together, We share one together. And then I have one on my, I
- 1:10:13have a separate LLC myself and I have one property that I just
- 1:10:17have. So, yeah.
- 1:10:19But eventually I want to get more into real estate.
- 1:10:22Yeah. So gotcha.
- 1:10:23Yeah. What's the question?
- 1:10:29What's like a version of success that either you're still
- 1:10:32learning or trying to unlearn A. Version of I say for me this
- 1:10:39year, like my a big a big goal of mine, I guess is not being
- 1:10:46you talked about the the hustle culture.
- 1:10:49I'm I've have been very also culture like, hey, you know,
- 1:10:55feeling your feelings don't matter.
- 1:10:56This not like get to work, put in the work.
- 1:11:00I think this year some of the things that I want to do and
- 1:11:04like vision of success for me would be to be spend a little
- 1:11:08bit more time like be able to be mentally away from work and like
- 1:11:13spend that quality time with my kids.
- 1:11:16I think putting in for myself because I think I put so much
- 1:11:19out for everybody else that I don't, you know, I don't really
- 1:11:23focus on the health and all that stuff.
- 1:11:24So that's something I want to do.
- 1:11:25So putting more into myself, putting more into my family,
- 1:11:28that's kind of what a vision of success would be for me for this
- 1:11:32year. So.
- 1:11:33I love that. Yeah, that's such a hard thing.
- 1:11:35Like I feel like you're always learning it and unlearning it
- 1:11:37and you know, and you're constantly doing this over and
- 1:11:40over and over and over until. I think it gets to a point where
- 1:11:43you're just so like tunnel vision, yeah, you know what I'm
- 1:11:46saying? And you just forget everything
- 1:11:48else, you know, like just around you kind of.
- 1:11:50And you just like you said, like you don't, you don't put invest
- 1:11:52too much time in yourself. And I'm going to say that he's,
- 1:11:55he's more fucking focused than I am.
- 1:11:57Like he's always fucking like this.
- 1:11:59I'm like, bro, sometimes you got to revert a little bit and enjoy
- 1:12:01yourself a little bit. I try to tell him that
- 1:12:03sometimes. So that's a hard thing.
- 1:12:05Yeah, yeah. For me, like, I mean, my thing
- 1:12:07is my fitness, you know, like I enjoy getting off of work and
- 1:12:10going straight to the gym. That's like my getaway at the
- 1:12:13gym. We have like I have my business
- 1:12:14phone and I put it away. I'm like, hey, I'll call you
- 1:12:17tomorrow, you know, like my customers or something like
- 1:12:19that. It's not that I'm trying to
- 1:12:20ignore you, it's just I need my time to.
- 1:12:22Yeah, for sure. Yeah, it's hard.
- 1:12:24Yeah. It's hard.
- 1:12:25And then like when you get to a point where you're like equating
- 1:12:28who you are to that you, you take that in and it's like, no,
- 1:12:32I need to realize that there's a time for me to, of course.
- 1:12:37You have to, you have to, you have to have balance.
- 1:12:38Yeah, you have. Because if not, you're going to
- 1:12:40go crazy, yeah. So we're at this point where we
- 1:12:43go into Lightning Grounds. This is where we ask you guys a
- 1:12:48bunch of questions. And these questions are meant to
- 1:12:51be a little more like fast-paced.
- 1:12:53And I'm going to switch to my phone for this.
- 1:12:58It sounds scary, but it's not that scary.
- 1:13:01Yeah, we'll ask you like just some random questions in here.
- 1:13:05And then you, you kind of just want to say what's off the top
- 1:13:07of your. Head If I offend anybody
- 1:13:10advance, I apologize. I'm very, I'm very blunt, so.
- 1:13:13That's not. Yeah, yeah, We're going to ask
- 1:13:15you guys a bunch of political shit.
- 1:13:17I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 1:13:20I'm sorry. That's one thing you can ask me.
- 1:13:21Politics. I'm going to tell you I don't
- 1:13:23know. I don't fuck with politics.
- 1:13:25I'm sorry. That's a good answer.
- 1:13:26Yeah, sometimes. So I don't know.
- 1:13:29Especially right now, it's just like too much.
- 1:13:30I'm like, yeah, yeah, I got other things I worry about in my
- 1:13:33daily life. OK, what's harder, starting your
- 1:13:38business or staying consistent when no one's watching?
- 1:13:42Stay consistent. I was starting your business.
- 1:13:46Starting your business? Yeah.
- 1:13:47Why? Why for both?
- 1:13:50OK, so I would say staying consistent just because I mean
- 1:13:53starting it is because like how we start off small.
- 1:13:55I felt like it wasn't that hard to start it.
- 1:13:57I feel like staying consistent and trying to keep and maintain
- 1:14:00it's it's been more stressful. I feel like on my on my part or
- 1:14:04just take me thinking about it. I think if you're passionate
- 1:14:07about something, you're, you'll be consistent.
- 1:14:09And I think that starting it, you know, people, people do a
- 1:14:14lot of the analysis paralysis like, oh, I got to do this.
- 1:14:16Oh, what should I do? I think jump in, start it and
- 1:14:20and figure it out and you'll be consistent.
- 1:14:23See. Different answers.
- 1:14:24I know I I know, I like this. I really.
- 1:14:27Like this? I love this though.
- 1:14:30I love you need balance like that.
- 1:14:33What's a habit people praise you for that you actually feel like
- 1:14:36you kind of suck at? I think I wouldn't say have, I
- 1:14:42would. I think people think that I feel
- 1:14:48like I don't work hard enough or that I don't do enough.
- 1:14:51But I feel like people are like, oh, you're doing so good, you're
- 1:14:53killing. And for myself, I always feel
- 1:14:56like, I don't know, I feel like I could do more.
- 1:14:58And I don't think it's like a thing about seeing other people
- 1:15:01doing more. I think it's just.
- 1:15:03I know, I don't know. I it's.
- 1:15:05Like you want to push yourself more.
- 1:15:06It's like a little drive. Yeah.
- 1:15:08In the back of my mind, I'm like, you shouldn't be.
- 1:15:10You could have done this. Like keep going, keep going.
- 1:15:12I don't know. That's my thinking.
- 1:15:15I'm, I'm, I'm actually, I'm the same boat with that one too,
- 1:15:17where I feel like a lot of people look at me like, oh, you
- 1:15:19guys are doing so big and it's so good.
- 1:15:21I'm just like, but the background saying like I'm not
- 1:15:23doing the best myself. I feel like there's always going
- 1:15:25to be more improvement. So yeah, let's see, guilty
- 1:15:31pleasure show or content you guys like to like, look and
- 1:15:35watch? Guilty show.
- 1:15:37I don't. I don't commit to the fucking
- 1:15:38shows. I don't have time.
- 1:15:40It's a guilty pleasure like you. Like a chocolate chip cookie, I
- 1:15:44mean. OK, yeah, if you want to talk
- 1:15:45about fucking nutrition, I'm fucking.
- 1:15:47I have a sweet tooth like a motherfucker.
- 1:15:48I'll ice cream, ice cream, ice cream flavor.
- 1:15:52I'm a chocolate kind of guy. Chocolate.
- 1:15:54Any type of chocolate or are we talking?
- 1:15:56Rocky Road. Rocky.
- 1:15:57Yes, Rocky Road. That's my favorite chocolate.
- 1:15:59That's my, you know, but I I talk all this fucking fitness
- 1:16:02shit, nutritional shit, but you'll catch me on a fucking
- 1:16:05Sunday at Brahms and they're fucking dry food.
- 1:16:07So I got to have my fucking sweet fucking cravings every
- 1:16:10once in a while. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's my
- 1:16:12that's my guilty pleasure is been not binge, but like fucking
- 1:16:17cheating on my fucking nutrition and getting me a pint and and
- 1:16:20alcohol. They're a.
- 1:16:21Little stuck. There and alcohol.
- 1:16:23And alcohol. That's fair.
- 1:16:24And alcohol. I, I, you know what, did you
- 1:16:26guys see that Bert Crushire podcast where he's like, I keep
- 1:16:28myself healthy enough where I can.
- 1:16:30Oh yeah, I love, I love, I love his motivational speech.
- 1:16:33On it that. That's my favorite thing all the
- 1:16:35time. I'd be like.
- 1:16:36You know what, I went nine months over for a while and it
- 1:16:38was cool, but I just love my drinks, man.
- 1:16:41I love it. So that's me, alcohol and ice
- 1:16:44cream. Mine gives a pleasure.
- 1:16:49I play Fortnite with my daughters.
- 1:16:51I, I think it's more of a bonding thing, like all three of
- 1:16:53my daughters will there. So it's a four player thing and
- 1:16:56we play together. But also like that point, I
- 1:16:59think I kind of overdo it 'cause we'll be playing a little too
- 1:17:02much. I feel like maybe this isn't
- 1:17:04like I, I mean, it's bonding, but also I'm kind of like, is
- 1:17:07this like parenting like good. Parenting like maybe we should
- 1:17:10be doing something? Maybe we didn't be at a four
- 1:17:12hour session. Today, yeah, I'm like 2 hours
- 1:17:14should have been enough. I'm teaching them something and
- 1:17:18tell you fucking. Around.
- 1:17:19I love it, though. That's what.
- 1:17:20Hey, at least you're fun. You're bonding.
- 1:17:22At least you're fun. I'm gonna play.
- 1:17:23Fortnite day in my life but. Yeah, I've never played more
- 1:17:25party in you. Yeah.
- 1:17:27Yeah. But that's fun.
- 1:17:28You're doing it with your your girls, your kids.
- 1:17:30Yeah. What's some of the best advice
- 1:17:34you've ever received? Best.
- 1:17:37Advice. Damn, that's a good question.
- 1:17:40God, I don't know where to start on that one.
- 1:17:42I don't know, best advice I feel like.
- 1:17:46I mean, for me, I guess it's just, you know, talking to other
- 1:17:50business, like we go to a lot of networking events, we talk to a
- 1:17:52lot of big business gurus, multi millionaires, all that stuff.
- 1:17:57And one thing they always say is when we especially at the golf
- 1:18:00events, you know, we see them at the golf events, they're like
- 1:18:03take time for yourself, you know, outside of whatever you do
- 1:18:06routinely work, working out, whatever it is, you got to kind
- 1:18:10of step away from that and then kind of have fun.
- 1:18:12Hence why I love playing golf. That's, you know, so you got to
- 1:18:15just kind of have that balance, I guess.
- 1:18:18We've met a lot of people at these golf events and they've
- 1:18:22told us a lot of stuff. I can't remember every single
- 1:18:23one of them right now. But you know, just talking to
- 1:18:25them guys that been around for a long time making all this money
- 1:18:28and just seeing them now, they're just like kicking back
- 1:18:31and they letting other people run the show for them.
- 1:18:33And that's one thing we want to do one day too, so.
- 1:18:38I don't know how he put it, but somebody told me I have.
- 1:18:42They said always, if you always do what's right and you always
- 1:18:46do like, like to say if something happens, even though
- 1:18:50you're embarrassed. So like, and you're, you always
- 1:18:52want to over communicate and be very truthful with with what you
- 1:18:56do, you're always going to be successful.
- 1:18:57And that's kind of something that we've put into what we do.
- 1:19:00No matter, you know, what kind of situations.
- 1:19:03Sometimes, you know, there's something that goes wrong and
- 1:19:05you're just like, man, this is like, it's a stupid mistake.
- 1:19:09But also, you know, look stupid talking to whoever it is.
- 1:19:12But I think doing the right thing, no matter how much it
- 1:19:15cost you. I think doing the right thing,
- 1:19:16no matter how much, how stupid you're going to look, that's
- 1:19:20always the right thing to do. Because at the end of the day,
- 1:19:23you know, karma comes around and that's what's going to make you
- 1:19:25successful is being able to always do right by people.
- 1:19:29And you don't want to be looking over your shoulder thinking
- 1:19:31like, oh shit, I'm going to see this guy here.
- 1:19:33You know, so I don't, I don't remember who told me that, but
- 1:19:37they had to talk. And I've always kept that with
- 1:19:39me. And that's how we do.
- 1:19:41I do everything that I do. There's a lot of uncomfortable
- 1:19:43stuff you have to do as an owner, especially the phone
- 1:19:46calls dealing with stubborn customers.
- 1:19:50Yeah, running with people or running alone.
- 1:19:54With people. With people I.
- 1:19:55Don't run alone. Why?
- 1:19:57It's fucking boring. Do you guys?
- 1:20:01Listen to music while running. All the time I listen to music
- 1:20:03you. Listen to music and you still
- 1:20:04prefer to have the company. Yeah, like because you're going
- 1:20:07to. Talk well, so like what I'll do
- 1:20:08is like, so I'll have my headphone, I'll put like 1
- 1:20:10earbud in. But like I still talk to
- 1:20:11everybody around me. You know, if, if I'm in a
- 1:20:14competition, if I'm in an event where I have to like PR or do my
- 1:20:17own record, then I'm locked in, right?
- 1:20:19I'll put my headphones in and I'm going and I'm focused,
- 1:20:21right? But for the most part, I hate
- 1:20:24it. I'm there because I'm there with
- 1:20:25everybody else, but I'm running by myself.
- 1:20:29But with them, I don't know if I can say that right, But for the
- 1:20:31most part, I love running with everybody else.
- 1:20:33Yeah, OK. Yeah.
- 1:20:35I don't. I don't listen to music when I
- 1:20:36run. You don't.
- 1:20:37No, you just raw dog in life. I'm just just raw dog in the
- 1:20:41course. Just raw dog this shit.
- 1:20:44I said I got enough and. You're like more kids I'm
- 1:20:46getting. Thoughts in my head that I can
- 1:20:48stay busy all the. Time.
- 1:20:50That's my favorite type of dogs. I'm just kidding, Just kidding.
- 1:20:56That sounded. That sounded awful.
- 1:20:58That's not what I said. I just.
- 1:20:59I just always. I think that's a funny saying.
- 1:21:02So I say raw dog in the walk. Shut up.
- 1:21:09Oh my God. OK.
- 1:21:11What's something that you used to chase that you don't care
- 1:21:13about at all anymore? Used.
- 1:21:16To chase used. To chase I don't care about
- 1:21:23anymore. I would say like, so like I
- 1:21:32said, I don't have Snapchat, but I, I don't say Chase, but I
- 1:21:35would, I think I used to like, you know, sometimes you like
- 1:21:39post something. So it's like somebody sees I'm
- 1:21:41doing something. Now I, it's very like I'm not
- 1:21:46really on social media like that.
- 1:21:48If I didn't have a business, I probably wouldn't be on social
- 1:21:50media at all. But like, you know, I don't have
- 1:21:53Snapchat. I'm rarely on the Facebook,
- 1:21:55Instagram, so I miss a lot of message and stuff.
- 1:21:57But I used to be like, you know, checking that stuff, you know,
- 1:22:00And now I hardly look at it. Yeah, no, I got that.
- 1:22:04Yeah, it's hard. I think for me it's just, you
- 1:22:07know, I've always been a social person, so I used to want to go
- 1:22:10to like every event and party and club or anything like that.
- 1:22:14You know, I went through a phase where I was just partying all
- 1:22:17the time. I was out Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 1:22:20Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, you know, like, you
- 1:22:23know, we used to, like, kick it. Yeah.
- 1:22:25Like, so I was always like, you know, I just didn't want to miss
- 1:22:28anything. You know the FOMO.
- 1:22:30Yeah, that's what it is. It's the FOMO.
- 1:22:32Yeah. I would always want to be at
- 1:22:33everything. And now I'm just like, you know
- 1:22:35what? I like being in bed at home by
- 1:22:378:00 and just chilling and relaxing, you know, So I don't
- 1:22:40chase that no more. No.
- 1:22:41I do have my nights though. I mean, so I'm still, like I
- 1:22:44said, I'm not young, but. We're young.
- 1:22:48Damn it. But you know, I still, I'm still
- 1:22:51just, I mean, I'm like I said, I'm single.
- 1:22:53I ain't got no kids, so I can just get up and go and do
- 1:22:55something and, you know, go party.
- 1:22:57But I don't chase it. I don't crave it, you know.
- 1:22:59So yeah, I'm more there for like if it's a friends event, I'm
- 1:23:03going to go support it more than anything.
- 1:23:04If it's like all Rock Island's doing, you know, Latino night
- 1:23:08tonight, I was like, oh, I have to be there.
- 1:23:09Like no, I know. I know I can't listen to Bad
- 1:23:14Bunny while I'm. Cleaning.
- 1:23:15Hey, do some Audrey. Do some deep cleaning.
- 1:23:18That's me. Yeah, that's me at home for
- 1:23:20real. I couldn't be mopping.
- 1:23:22I guess get. Some shit done at home because
- 1:23:24I'm never really home. So yeah.
- 1:23:25That's me now. So no, I get that.
- 1:23:27OK, what deserves a toast right now?
- 1:23:31What deserves a toast right now you guys for having us here?
- 1:23:36Oh yeah, yeah, we're cool. I.
- 1:23:37Know and I already drink my drink so I don't.
- 1:23:38I can't even toast anymore. Oh.
- 1:23:40Shit. No, like I've been watching you
- 1:23:44guys podcast is amazing. I love it.
- 1:23:46I love how you guys do incorporate the drinking.
- 1:23:48You guys have fun. You know, some people have very
- 1:23:50serious podcasts. You know, we listen to podcasts
- 1:23:52quite a bit, you know, and that's cool.
- 1:23:55Everybody tweets their own, you know, some some of them.
- 1:23:57There's a place for everything. Exactly, you know, but I love
- 1:23:59how you guys have the the you know, the hangout, the aesthetic
- 1:24:02behind everything. Shot me go with the shot.
- 1:24:04You know the spot and everything is pretty dope.
- 1:24:07I love how you guys do it. And then you guys, you know,
- 1:24:09looked at us like, hey, we need to have them guys on here.
- 1:24:11We appreciate you guys. So I'm going to toast to that.
- 1:24:15Thank you. I toast the Bad Bunny, man.
- 1:24:22Me getting more excited over that than our toast I've.
- 1:24:25Been watching a lot of like, you know, the clips and stuff that
- 1:24:27like seeing just what you know, the I love that like I'm only
- 1:24:31watching the Super Bowl to watch that, you know, and that you
- 1:24:36know, him being able to win that best album of the year, the
- 1:24:39first person with an all Spanish album.
- 1:24:43That's fucking badass. I love seeing the content, I
- 1:24:46love that passion and I love seeing people win and that.
- 1:24:49It's kind of sad to see the separation of what this nation's
- 1:24:52going to because of that, you know, it's just super sad.
- 1:24:55You know, us being veterans, like we are very close with
- 1:24:59everybody and we wanted to see. And that's why, that's why I
- 1:25:01don't get involved in politics because I don't, I don't want to
- 1:25:04have any anger between anybody. But at the same time, it's just
- 1:25:07sad to see that, you know, this whole ICE thing, it's fucking
- 1:25:10crazy. I don't want to speak on it just
- 1:25:12because my family's Mexican, Mexican too, you know what I'm
- 1:25:14saying? Like just having growing up in a
- 1:25:17Latino life and family, it's, it's it's sad to see this right
- 1:25:21now what we're going through. And I just don't try to just,
- 1:25:24you know, I try to look away by the same time.
- 1:25:25It's hard to look away. How do you look away at this?
- 1:25:27You know, but the whole Bad Bunny thing, yeah, it's badass.
