- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. The worlds
- 0:09Speaker 1: of Village and Podcast Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered. I'm looking
- 0:19Speaker 1: for a pillow, you know, want to sleep on. I
- 0:22Speaker 1: need something with a little bit more heft. I want
- 0:24Speaker 1: the best pill up. Memory. Money is no object. I
- 0:27Speaker 1: think memory, memory foam. I lean toward that, That's what
- 0:30Speaker 1: I think. Yeah, because does that like fill the crevices?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Though, Like if you got to kind of bunch up between.
- 0:35Speaker 1: His ears, whoa, you just kind of wing it.
- 0:38Speaker 2: You're like, try this one.
- 0:40Speaker 3: It's a journey, and you get one of those ones
- 0:41Speaker 3: that's like feathers and it gets all like separated out
- 0:44Speaker 3: and you've got.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Like thin parts and thick parts, and you can't do
- 0:47Speaker 2: feathers anymore. Right, But I don't know the whole times
- 0:49Speaker 2: you do feathers anymore. Now it's allergies.
- 0:52Speaker 1: If you have allergies, you can't do it. You could
- 0:53Speaker 1: never do criticism. I got of the argument with its
- 0:57Speaker 1: Capital team is that you guys were talking over each other.
- 1:00Speaker 1: People couldn't hear what you say. Complain about that. No,
- 1:03Speaker 1: but you know, what it's a legit concern about talking
- 1:06Speaker 1: over each other. David Mayne says, the great podcaster Joe
- 1:09Speaker 1: Rogan makes all his guests wear headphones, and he says
- 1:12Speaker 1: that when you're hearing your own voice and headphones, you
- 1:14Speaker 1: won't talk over each other. Maybe try that for it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I like, I'd rather like not having headfat call you
- 1:22Speaker 1: a bath guy. I don't really like tag. No, I
- 1:24Speaker 1: haven't taken a bathroom. A bathroom, the bath house, I
- 1:28Speaker 1: don't know.
- 1:28Speaker 4: It's not an every bath house.
- 1:30Speaker 5: It's no, no beach in.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Every bath I thought there was a bath house, and
- 1:33Speaker 1: ever all the old guys sit around.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's that's just the rest up on the law.
- 1:38Speaker 6: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:43Speaker 2: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com.
- 1:47Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:51Speaker 1: at you'll let's Stadium. It's Evan, it's Deuce, it's Alex
- 1:56Speaker 1: and Fred and Matt and the booth. Paul is on
- 1:59Speaker 1: his annual Loser polos A tour.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Uh.
- 2:02Speaker 1: This is the day where he takes a PTO just
- 2:05Speaker 1: to watch the first round of the NCAA March madness.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So h truly a loser Pollosa day for Paul. But
- 2:14Speaker 1: he's been doing it since I've known him. And he
- 2:17Speaker 1: and his friends get together and I guess they drink
- 2:19Speaker 1: beer and eat a lot, and well, I don't know
- 2:21Speaker 1: if Paul eats anymore, but certainly drinks beer and they
- 2:24Speaker 1: watch college basketball first round. So he takes tomorrow off.
- 2:29Speaker 7: Too, right, I deal with the hangover just because he
- 2:33Speaker 7: loves it that much.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You know, they're just losers and they love it.
- 2:37Speaker 4: It's one thing to take Friday in the off season off.
- 2:39Speaker 4: We don't do shows or anything like that.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Tradition, but to sit in front of the TV.
- 2:45Speaker 4: You know, you could just do that.
- 2:47Speaker 3: And right, I mean, he talks about watching random basketball
- 2:52Speaker 3: playoffs all the time, like he just he loves that
- 2:55Speaker 3: he does.
- 2:56Speaker 4: And I'm not you know, we're making fun of him,
- 2:57Speaker 4: but he would.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Never make fun of you.
- 2:59Speaker 4: He likes it's and watches like I hear, watching like
- 3:02Speaker 4: highlights of like some random read on.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But you ever been to those Japanese restaurants where they're
- 3:09Speaker 1: like cutting up. That's him with the remote, Like he
- 3:12Speaker 1: is so deft with the remote, it's unbelievable.
- 3:15Speaker 4: He's a it's a skill.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It really is.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, as far as he doesn't have split screen at
- 3:19Speaker 3: his house, because that would really you know, flip like
- 3:21Speaker 3: now you've got p I.
- 3:23Speaker 5: P you know.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Now now you're talking about technology. A little bit too
- 3:26Speaker 1: much technology there for Yeah. Anyway, all right, so we're
- 3:31Speaker 1: here for the next two hours talking patriots and whatever else.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I will tell you that I have a pillow update.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I have made a purchase. I will reveal that probably
- 3:41Speaker 1: in the second half of the show. We'll talk about
- 3:43Speaker 1: the pillow I purchased. Hasn't come yet, so I can't
- 3:46Speaker 1: give you a review. I'll wait a month until I
- 3:48Speaker 1: give you a review of him, but I can I
- 3:50Speaker 1: can fill you in on what I ordered in the
- 3:53Speaker 1: second half of the show.
- 3:54Speaker 3: We could do like an influencer thing for were you
- 3:56Speaker 3: a little vertical video you doing your pillow review?
- 3:58Speaker 8: Hey guys, I just wanted to watch to the store
- 4:02Speaker 8: to get this pillow.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I hate those vertical things on TV. That makes me
- 4:07Speaker 1: even more angry.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I think just just the name influencer kind of annoys me, Like,
- 4:12Speaker 3: who are you influencing? Like it used to be like
- 4:15Speaker 3: social media star, but it's influencer.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Influencing.
- 4:17Speaker 1: My wife's always watching TV, so it's always like, hey, guys,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I just found the best bra ever, right, And.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Then you see like this ad was paid for like
- 4:27Speaker 2: Bras Incorporated.
- 4:29Speaker 8: Now, well, that's like every TikTok and every Instagram reel
- 4:32Speaker 8: now too, Like you don't even know it's an AD,
- 4:34Speaker 8: but it's an AD.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Been doing some vertical video I have been vertical.
- 4:39Speaker 4: YouTube short star and uh TikTok star. I like to
- 4:44Speaker 4: sleep in in the morning sometimes, but just as a
- 4:46Speaker 4: pretty early riser most of the time. And so sometimes
- 4:50Speaker 4: I'll just hear the scrolling and it's like you know,
- 4:53Speaker 4: like beauty products or whatever, and she'll just be watching
- 4:56Speaker 4: this video. Then she'll get mad though, because like it's
- 4:59Speaker 4: like multiple parts, just like I can't find the other part,
- 5:01Speaker 4: Like I don't know what like what brand is it,
- 5:03Speaker 4: I can't find it. And I'm like, okay, calm down, I.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Am obsessed with this product.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, now I I'm breaking into the vertical space.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And I know, I know we're already going off to
- 5:17Speaker 1: a non football tangent, but I was thinking on the
- 5:21Speaker 1: way here that you know, we we all complain about
- 5:24Speaker 1: our algorithms. Why am I seeing that blah. I think
- 5:29Speaker 1: whether it's X or Instagram or whoever, or a new platform,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I think people would love it if in addition to
- 5:38Speaker 1: you know, the algorithm they set for you, you can have
- 5:41Speaker 1: the controls to tweak your own algorithm. Yeah, now you're
- 5:46Speaker 1: gonna see ads because that's how they make money. And
- 5:48Speaker 1: I get that. So, you know, nothing is free in
- 5:50Speaker 1: this world. But to be able to just tweak my
- 5:53Speaker 1: algorithm more of this, less of that, you know, show
- 5:57Speaker 1: me lesser known in fluencers, you know. Like, however, it
- 6:02Speaker 1: is like maybe there's a hundred different things I can
- 6:04Speaker 1: do to tweak it. I think if people had that control,
- 6:07Speaker 1: they would love that. I love it. And then you
- 6:09Speaker 1: can switch back to the default if you want.
- 6:11Speaker 9: So.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I have an example right now.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I got stuck somehow in the world of Titans uniform
- 6:16Speaker 3: reveal Twitter that I just was getting fed everything from
- 6:19Speaker 3: the Titans uniform reveal. I don't know why it worked,
- 6:21Speaker 3: but like, at a certain point, I just want to
- 6:23Speaker 3: see the uniforms. I don't need to see every piece
- 6:25Speaker 3: of content the Titans produced and what every one of
- 6:27Speaker 3: their fans seems to think, and that there was all
- 6:29Speaker 3: kinds of controversies with their media members spilling the beans
- 6:32Speaker 3: about it. But I love that what we're saying, because that's
- 6:34Speaker 3: exactly what I was thinking. I'm like, Okay, I need
- 6:36Speaker 3: enough of this, and it just keeps giving it to me.
- 6:38Speaker 3: So h I don't like it, So I think I'll
- 6:40Speaker 3: go reset.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I think if these platforms are worried about people spending
- 6:45Speaker 1: not enough time on their platform, which I can't imagine,
- 6:48Speaker 1: this would increase it even more.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Do you feel a little the algorithm kind of holds
- 6:52Speaker 3: a mirror up to you and like you kind of
- 6:53Speaker 3: learned things about it, like.
- 6:54Speaker 2: It just kind of like boils down, like like.
- 6:56Speaker 8: I like TikTok's algorithm tells me more about myself, and
- 7:00Speaker 8: I already knew it tells me what I want before
- 7:02Speaker 8: I knew what I want.
- 7:03Speaker 7: Like TikTok the algorithm, I don't.
- 7:05Speaker 8: Know how they did it. It's perfect. It's too good.
- 7:08Speaker 8: Instagram and Twitter's just sucks for me now.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I saw it as there was a Sunday Live sketch
- 7:13Speaker 3: where they're all sitting around and the girls are like, hey,
- 7:15Speaker 3: let's all look at Instagram's for you, Paige, and all
- 7:18Speaker 3: the girls are smiling.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Eleven and the guys are all like, nope, I'm not showing.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Mike because yeah, we've done it before.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I'm like, it's not like I'm scheve on Instagram, but
- 7:26Speaker 3: like for somehow if I pull that up, it's just
- 7:29Speaker 3: all gls right right, Well, because they Patriots and a
- 7:33Speaker 3: little bit of like sciatica, they're like.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Eventually we'll get them eventually, right.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Every single guys for you.
- 7:44Speaker 8: That's not true because I've died to the test and
- 7:47Speaker 8: said like, oh yeah, show me the Explore and it
- 7:49Speaker 8: was actually like every respect hit my.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Cap, every every guy get they get filtered in there somehow,
- 7:55Speaker 4: and and you know, it's just it is what it is.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Like they know, they know what they're doing, they know
- 8:01Speaker 4: who they're targeting with them right.
- 8:03Speaker 8: Now is haircuts, ten best sandwiches in the world, lymphatic drainage.
- 8:10Speaker 10: What.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Your lymph?
- 8:13Speaker 4: I don't really Instagram, so I only have an account
- 8:16Speaker 4: because all the players have accounts, so just to keep
- 8:19Speaker 4: tabs on occasionally what they're doing. But I really only
- 8:23Speaker 4: am on only active on Twitter, and that's it all right, all.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Right, all right? So do we have any Patriots topics?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Right right? How can I think get release happened on Tuesday. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and you can watch that on YouTube or Patriots dot
- 8:45Speaker 1: com which is YouTube embedded. Uh but hour and a half.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So people are loving it. Of course, Greg Bdard, it's
- 8:53Speaker 1: like they're going for an oscar here.
- 8:55Speaker 4: It's like, okay, yes, yeah, we were problem, but you know,
- 9:00Speaker 4: so far, everyone's loving it.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Would love to hear what you think if you've already
- 9:04Speaker 1: watched it or watched some of it or you know whatever.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So yeah, that's out there.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I watched it right when it came out, and I
- 9:14Speaker 2: watched the whole thing.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Just a couple of moments that stood out to me though,
- 9:17Speaker 3: and I think, you know, talking with some people here yesterday,
- 9:22Speaker 3: the moment with Mike Rabele standing outside the locker room
- 9:24Speaker 3: after the super Bowl when he's alone, that moment, I
- 9:28Speaker 3: think and Paul really resonated for Paul too.
- 9:30Speaker 2: We were both just like, what a moment that was
- 9:32Speaker 2: because I could see the.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Internal battle of him of trying to keep the guys
- 9:36Speaker 3: up and we have to deal with this together and
- 9:38Speaker 3: all that exhaust he did and.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I understand why.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I mean we again, we didn't play any of the games,
- 9:44Speaker 3: but you just feel that playoff.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Well, neither did he right, fair enough, but.
- 9:50Speaker 3: You know, just the grind of playoff games and the
- 9:52Speaker 3: uncertainty of well, we might be going to Denver next week,
- 9:55Speaker 3: well we might be going to San franciscoing two weeks.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It's just it's so much and you could see that
- 9:59Speaker 3: that moment, to me was was super cool.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And I also, of course like the hockey fight. That
- 10:03Speaker 2: was my favorite part. All right, right's put some hockey
- 10:05Speaker 2: up there.
- 10:06Speaker 5: I love it.
- 10:06Speaker 8: I love how he was like narrating the hockey fight
- 10:09Speaker 8: of the two players each other.
- 10:13Speaker 2: That's what the Patriots are gonna do.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that that vable part as well. That
- 10:19Speaker 1: was that might have been my favorite part, not not
- 10:22Speaker 1: just like happy to see it, but just it was raw, raw,
- 10:27Speaker 1: it was emotional. It was truly behind the scenes that
- 10:30Speaker 1: kind of stuff. So I really like that.
- 10:34Speaker 4: I just watching him all last season, I'm like, how
- 10:37Speaker 4: do you have this much energy on a daily basis?
- 10:40Speaker 4: And it's just every single day he was the same.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Energy drink that he would have.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Yeah, but like he was up here every single day.
- 10:48Speaker 4: You never saw a single day all season long, and
- 10:51Speaker 4: we saw him most days during the season where he
- 10:55Speaker 4: seemed lethargic or not into it or not invested or
- 11:00Speaker 4: anything like.
- 11:01Speaker 11: You know.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, even the way it started, you know, they it
- 11:04Speaker 1: started with the Pittsburgh loss kind of so that they
- 11:08Speaker 1: could show how far they've come. And you know, that's
- 11:11Speaker 1: the first time we saw the post locker room after
- 11:14Speaker 1: that game and him telling him like, we're gonna have
- 11:17Speaker 1: to eat this as a team. We're all gonna have
- 11:19Speaker 1: to eat it. We're gonna just sit down and eat this.
- 11:21Speaker 1: But we're gonna, you know, we're not going anywhere. And
- 11:25Speaker 1: you know, you could see everybody listening, Stefan Diggs, everybody,
- 11:30Speaker 1: So they listen then and then you go full circle.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I don't know if it was after the AC championship
- 11:36Speaker 1: game or after one of the playoff games. Vrabel's talking.
- 11:39Speaker 1: He said, listen to me, and they go to Milton
- 11:41Speaker 1: Williams and he's like, I'm listening. I'm listening, you know,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and it's just like, yeah, they he got their attention
- 11:48Speaker 1: all year and kept their attention and they believed in them.
- 11:52Speaker 1: He you know, he got their trust.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I mean, as a fan, that was what
- 11:56Speaker 2: I enjoyed the most.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean, first of all, there's just unfettered access to
- 12:00Speaker 3: and as I've said many times that Belichick football life
- 12:03Speaker 3: from two thousand and nine season, I just loved hearing
- 12:06Speaker 3: him talk to the team. I love hearing no filter
- 12:08Speaker 3: between what the coach is saying, you know, to the
- 12:11Speaker 3: team and all that. But just such a fun to
- 12:14Speaker 3: relive that season because the thing that sucks is they
- 12:16Speaker 3: lost the Super Bowl in pretty crappy fashion, and that
- 12:19Speaker 3: has cast a little bit of a shadow over the offseason.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And you know, rightly so, the team that loses the
- 12:24Speaker 3: super Bowl, it's it's stinks.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's a special kind of stinks.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But it reminded me of the next season.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, this reminded me how special this season was and
- 12:31Speaker 3: the really cool chemistry that this team built. And you
- 12:34Speaker 3: know what I find myself thinking is it's got to
- 12:36Speaker 3: be totally different next year.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Like there's not going to be the Warriors next year.
- 12:40Speaker 3: There's you know a lot of those little pieces of
- 12:42Speaker 3: the twenty twenty five Patriots personality. They got to find
- 12:45Speaker 3: it again. And I'm really interested to see that. And
- 12:48Speaker 3: you know, clearly vable at the end of the Super
- 12:50Speaker 3: Bowl is we're just getting started. You know, we've been
- 12:52Speaker 3: playing for We've only been in this program for three
- 12:54Speaker 3: hundred and however many days.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I just I left that that show feeling like it
- 13:01Speaker 3: was a nice bookend to that season. But I'm excited
- 13:04Speaker 3: to get going on next year and see, you know
- 13:05Speaker 3: what they're gonna build in year two when they already
- 13:07Speaker 3: have some of this in place. You know, they're not
- 13:09Speaker 3: starting exactly from the bottom again, they have you know,
- 13:12Speaker 3: pieces already that they can work with it.
- 13:14Speaker 1: But it's important to, like you said, start over.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that that's the most fascinating part to
- 13:21Speaker 4: me about it is like you said, Warriors is that
- 13:23Speaker 4: was a twenty twenty five thing, Like you're not going
- 13:25Speaker 4: to use it again in twenty six. You know, some
- 13:28Speaker 4: of the clips with with Digs, you know, and just
- 13:31Speaker 4: how much of a leader and how much president.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Point it made me.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It made me kind of think about not sorry to
- 13:37Speaker 3: cut you off, but like that was something that stood
- 13:38Speaker 3: out to me that was just like, they're gonna have
- 13:40Speaker 3: to replace this energy because he's clearly the guy getting
- 13:43Speaker 3: everybody fired up before a lot of those games, especially
- 13:46Speaker 3: in the playoffs.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Yeah, but again that's that's less than five r Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 4: you know, even obviously every time that he Getsberry is.
- 13:55Speaker 4: You can see how great a guy Grrett Bradberry is.
- 13:58Speaker 4: That's another one. Maybe not on energy level that Diggs is,
- 14:01Speaker 4: but just in terms of his you know, kind of
- 14:04Speaker 4: mentorship and all that kind of stuff. So you see
- 14:06Speaker 4: like all these things and you.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Know that was years.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not going to have that anymore.
- 14:13Speaker 8: There's so many scenes like that where like Tavai would
- 14:15Speaker 8: be front and center or something, I'd be like, well,
- 14:16Speaker 8: he's not here anymore. Diggs, he's not here anymore, Garrett's
- 14:19Speaker 8: not here anymore. Like It's just we feel totally different.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and it'll be fun to get to know the
- 14:26Speaker 1: new guys, right what they all brought, because I think
- 14:28Speaker 1: last year, if you remember, before the season, we had
- 14:32Speaker 1: quite a few of the free agents come in and
- 14:33Speaker 1: sit down here on this set, and we were impressed
- 14:36Speaker 1: with almost every one of them.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I don't think there was any that we weren't impressed with,
- 14:40Speaker 1: especially Morgan. I mean, Paul fell in love with him
- 14:43Speaker 1: right right from the get go. But Carlton Davis came
- 14:46Speaker 1: in here, Splaine came in, Like every one of them,
- 14:48Speaker 1: we were like, Okay, this is a good guy. This
- 14:51Speaker 1: this guy loves football.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and I just I have a lot of confidence
- 14:57Speaker 3: in Mike Rabel as a head coach to get those
- 14:59Speaker 3: things going again.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't know what they'll be.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I don't know what the unique things to the twenty
- 15:04Speaker 3: twenty six Patriots are gonna be. But with Mike Rabel's
- 15:06Speaker 3: style and the way he connects with players. They're just
- 15:08Speaker 3: hearing from Kevin byerd Now who said Mike was texting
- 15:12Speaker 3: him through the season, just congratulating him, you know, like
- 15:14Speaker 3: at to Evan's point, so much on his plate, but
- 15:16Speaker 3: he's still keeping a guy on an eye on his guys.
- 15:19Speaker 3: So that to me is he got Drake and you
- 15:22Speaker 3: got him. There's definitely challenges this year that are gonna
- 15:25Speaker 3: be new, but I like this team to face.
- 15:27Speaker 12: All of them.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, so that's fortune. Foxborough again got released on Tuesday.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It's on YouTube, the Patriots YouTube channel. You can get
- 15:37Speaker 1: get it through Patriots dot com or go to the
- 15:39Speaker 1: Patriots x account and you know you'll see it there.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I think it might be pinned up there or something,
- 15:45Speaker 1: but definitely you need to watch it. You know. I
- 15:50Speaker 1: think I can't promise you, but I can almost be
- 15:56Speaker 1: certain that even with the way the season ended, you're
- 15:59Speaker 1: gonna have good feeling after you watch this about the team. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you know, Yeah, you're gonna have a good feeling.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Of especially their leadership. Yeah, you know, at the coaching staff,
- 16:07Speaker 4: and I think the halftime from the Texans game, being
- 16:11Speaker 4: in the locker room for halftime of a game, and
- 16:13Speaker 4: I think, you know, we kind of know what Rabel
- 16:15Speaker 4: and Josh McDaniels bring to the table. But even seeing
- 16:18Speaker 4: Zach Corr coach a little bit, and I doubt was
- 16:21Speaker 4: really cool. As a guy that's a little bit more
- 16:23Speaker 4: of a newer face and a younger coach that hasn't
- 16:27Speaker 4: been in that position until last year, you expect Josh
- 16:31Speaker 4: McDaniels and Mike Vrabel to bring a sortain confidence and
- 16:34Speaker 4: energy to him. But seeing how Zach Korr, you know,
- 16:37Speaker 4: coached a team in a playoff game in a very
- 16:39Speaker 4: big spot, was really cool. I don't know if I've
- 16:42Speaker 4: ever seen halftime during a game footage like that before
- 16:48Speaker 4: from any team or hard knocks or maybe hard knocks
- 16:51Speaker 4: in season, but yeah, not a lot that I can remember.
- 16:55Speaker 2: No, No, I was just gonna make the same point.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I think, first time I've ever seen a halftime speech,
- 16:59Speaker 3: I thought It was interesting though, because you see how
- 17:01Speaker 3: it's kind of a scramble and a lot of times
- 17:04Speaker 3: teams talk about like halftime adjustments, and a lot of
- 17:06Speaker 3: times it's just.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Like follows, we gotta keep doing what we're doing.
- 17:09Speaker 11: Get out.
- 17:09Speaker 3: You know, it's not like, all right, we're gonna change.
- 17:11Speaker 3: They don't have that much time. But love the Josh
- 17:14Speaker 3: stuff too. Love, you know, just getting a sense for
- 17:17Speaker 3: how do they get ready before the game. You know,
- 17:19Speaker 3: we don't ever kind of see the last moments of
- 17:22Speaker 3: the coaches kind of giving their final points of emphasis.
- 17:25Speaker 3: You know, Josh saying, I promise you it's going to
- 17:27Speaker 3: come down to the end. And you know, he's just
- 17:29Speaker 3: got so many great little bits of insight. He has
- 17:32Speaker 3: so much experience that you know, it's just reinforced for
- 17:35Speaker 3: me what a great partner he is with Drake May
- 17:37Speaker 3: to kind of navigate him through these early seasons of
- 17:40Speaker 3: his career, and you know, just understanding how these games go.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Josh has seen every kind of game there is, and.
- 17:44Speaker 3: He knows, you know, it's such a huge part of football,
- 17:47Speaker 3: not riding the wave of the you know, when the
- 17:49Speaker 3: other team makes some plays and you know, his fans
- 17:51Speaker 3: I think, especially on Twitter. You see the other team
- 17:54Speaker 3: comes out and they make three plays. They go down
- 17:55Speaker 3: the field and they score a touchdown and everyone's like,
- 17:57Speaker 3: that's it.
- 17:57Speaker 2: We stick. You know when you realize as a player,
- 17:59Speaker 2: you can't exists like that.
- 18:01Speaker 3: You have to be even keeled and be ready to play,
- 18:04Speaker 3: play the whole game and makes plays at the end.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Next play, Next play. A couple criticisms of me. Cam
- 18:11Speaker 1: from Belmont Mass I've heard you guys read emails about
- 18:13Speaker 1: talking over each other a few times now and then
- 18:15Speaker 1: Fred starts to scold everybody around the room. Drives me
- 18:18Speaker 1: crazy when Fred does this, because Fred is easily the
- 18:21Speaker 1: worst defender of talking over everyone. The amount of times
- 18:25Speaker 1: he interrupts people mid sentence to start yapping drives me
- 18:28Speaker 1: up a wall more than anything else in the show,
- 18:30Speaker 1: except for maybe Evans allergy to fun No.
- 18:35Speaker 4: I wear that as a badge of honor.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Alex from Lunenberg. When there are five people in the studio,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Fred looks like a hobbit compared to the two on
- 18:42Speaker 1: the other end. Alex usually sits on the other end
- 18:45Speaker 1: and looks huge, but today she looks normal sitting next
- 18:47Speaker 1: to Fred. Do you guys use a wide angle lens
- 18:50Speaker 1: or something similar to the camera to create the distortion.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Our new studio engineer pointed out that it looked weird
- 19:00Speaker 1: after the last show, and I thought they were going
- 19:01Speaker 1: to work on that really like wide angles, Matt said
- 19:04Speaker 1: thumbs up. I guess they didn't. Yeah, because it's still
- 19:08Speaker 1: a story.
- 19:08Speaker 4: That's just because Deuce and I are just you know.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Well, it's funny because I'm seeing us here and I,
- 19:13Speaker 3: you know, I kind of look big in this one,
- 19:14Speaker 3: but then you look at like the Rabel interview, and
- 19:16Speaker 3: I look like I look like the Hobbit next to Rabel.
- 19:21Speaker 4: But that's that's actually, yeah, we all look like Hobbits
- 19:24Speaker 4: next to him.
- 19:25Speaker 2: We have a scheduled meeting to get it fixed tomorrow
- 19:27Speaker 2: at nine.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Oh so we haven't worked on it.
- 19:29Speaker 2: No, we haven't worked on it yet.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I gave you a thumb us going to get worked
- 19:32Speaker 1: on Okay, so next next week, I won't look like
- 19:36Speaker 1: a Hobbit. I'll look like You're.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Gonna look like this.
- 19:41Speaker 3: You're more just gonna be st They're just gonna come
- 19:43Speaker 3: in with like an apple box and put it on.
- 19:44Speaker 1: It, right, he said. In a booster scene, chair Anthony
- 19:53Speaker 1: has a forged comment about Barber. I never realized how
- 19:55Speaker 1: important Barber was as far as leadership goes. He seems
- 19:59Speaker 1: to be a strong voice for the defense. Obviously he's
- 20:01Speaker 1: a great player, but seeing him motivate the team further
- 20:04Speaker 1: proves his value. Was anyone else as surprised as I
- 20:07Speaker 1: was to see him so vocal? Yeah?
- 20:10Speaker 3: Never, No, it felt like he was in his element.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I think he's out of his element when you're trying
- 20:14Speaker 3: to like press conference zone, but when he can just
- 20:16Speaker 3: go nuts before a game and he's feeling it, that
- 20:18Speaker 3: was Barmore.
- 20:19Speaker 4: We've definitely seen that side of he Actually during pregame
- 20:24Speaker 4: he usually leads the D line huddle and is the
- 20:27Speaker 4: guy in the middle. He's just so intense and he
- 20:31Speaker 4: cares so much about winning that he does wears that
- 20:35Speaker 4: emotion all all on his sleeve, like he's at that
- 20:38Speaker 4: kind of guy. He gets really really intense on game day.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Like really, so does Milt Williams too.
- 20:45Speaker 3: They think a good combination when Barnoer's a little louder,
- 20:48Speaker 3: but Milt Williams is just that you can see it
- 20:50Speaker 3: in his eyes throughout that whole thing.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I mean, what a what a player. He was this year.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so all right, good stuff again. If you have
- 20:57Speaker 1: any comments about Forged, this is the place to talk
- 21:01Speaker 1: about it. Email or call eight five five Pass five
- 21:04Speaker 1: hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com is
- 21:08Speaker 1: the email address? What else?
- 21:10Speaker 7: Signed a cornerback?
- 21:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, kindle Kendall Videl?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, what's where was his kindle bidor here's with Tampa
- 21:19Speaker 2: last year? Kicked around a little bit. Yeah, he was
- 21:22Speaker 2: briefly with Rabel.
- 21:23Speaker 3: He's been on four different teams, so briefly Williams corner
- 21:27Speaker 3: some cornerback depth. Yeah, they're kind of continuing to round
- 21:31Speaker 3: things out. But you know, it feels for the most part,
- 21:33Speaker 3: the big moves in free agency are probably kind of done.
- 21:36Speaker 3: I mean, you know, guys like Bigs not connecting him
- 21:39Speaker 3: to the Patriots necessarily, but some of those guys, I
- 21:41Speaker 3: feel like, we'll wait, see how the draft goes, and
- 21:43Speaker 3: then you know, teams might rejigger and say we didn't
- 21:45Speaker 3: get a guy we want, let's get You know.
- 21:47Speaker 1: You can't help, but just bring up again the advantage
- 21:51Speaker 1: that Vrabel has over what Mayo had to deal with
- 21:55Speaker 1: in his first year. He didn't have that network of
- 21:57Speaker 1: players that he weren't coaching other teams or you know,
- 22:02Speaker 1: so he was at such a disadvantage in that first
- 22:06Speaker 1: year and you can see the difference, Like, you know,
- 22:08Speaker 1: he's rabel Is constantly bringing in people that he's familiar with,
- 22:12Speaker 1: whether they're coaches or players, and you say, well, you know,
- 22:15Speaker 1: why can't you look beyond that? Why should you? If
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know a guy and you know what he can do,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and you know how exactly you want him to fit
- 22:22Speaker 1: into your team, go get him, Go get him? Why
- 22:25Speaker 1: why overthink it?
- 22:26Speaker 4: Especially for the role players. Yeah, like Alex Austin leaves
- 22:30Speaker 4: for Miami and Kindle Widel kind of profiles similarly, as
- 22:35Speaker 4: you know, good athlete that can play on special teams,
- 22:37Speaker 4: do some things in the kicking game, be a depth corner,
- 22:41Speaker 4: you know, fourth or fifth corner back like that, that
- 22:43Speaker 4: sort of role, which is what they kind of lost
- 22:45Speaker 4: with Alex Austin. So when you they look at like
- 22:48Speaker 4: the back end of the roster, if you know this guy,
- 22:50Speaker 4: you're familiar with this guy, you know he fits the scheme,
- 22:53Speaker 4: you know he fits the system. That's different like last
- 22:56Speaker 4: year they had no connection to Milan Williams. But he's
- 23:00Speaker 4: a stunt so they just went out and got him.
- 23:02Speaker 4: You know, maybe it's scenario, maybe like a little bit
- 23:05Speaker 4: of a Green Bay thing, But like Romeo Dobbs, I
- 23:07Speaker 4: would say it was kind of similar that they didn't
- 23:09Speaker 4: really have a ton of you know, familiarity with him
- 23:13Speaker 4: going into it, but top you know, free agent type
- 23:16Speaker 4: of player, and they went out and paid him. So
- 23:18Speaker 4: they do go outside the bottom, they do.
- 23:20Speaker 1: But yeah, but like you said, for those role players.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Like yeah, it's the top of the roster is different.
- 23:25Speaker 4: The bottom of the roster, we do see a lot
- 23:27Speaker 4: of retreads and guys that have been with Mike Rabel.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yes, I love the buyered move.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I mean his relationship with Rabel's been obvious since this
- 23:34Speaker 3: season when he talked about him compared to the Hunter Henry.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I'm excited to watch him play.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I mean anytime they get one of these guys, I
- 23:41Speaker 3: mean it was Digs last year that you've always known
- 23:43Speaker 3: is really talented in the league, and then you get
- 23:45Speaker 3: an opportunity to spend five weeks watching them in training
- 23:49Speaker 3: camp and joint practices and all that. It's just it's
- 23:52Speaker 3: cool to see special players who especially someone like Bayern
- 23:54Speaker 3: who just I'm curious to see just his impact pre
- 23:58Speaker 3: snap and you know, communication and you know, it's just
- 24:00Speaker 3: it all seems like a smart leadership and everything that
- 24:03Speaker 3: he's going to bring, uh and and how he's gonna
- 24:05Speaker 3: affect Craig Woodson. I just I'm really excited about that move.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Jordan agrees with you. He's talking about Forge and
- 24:11Speaker 1: Foxborough and the influenced Diggs had. But he said, uh, May, Moses, Gonzales,
- 24:16Speaker 1: Henry are all leaders, but all quiet confidence types. Bayard
- 24:20Speaker 1: will be a leader and captain of the defense, but
- 24:23Speaker 1: what about the offense? So he thinks byered it's going
- 24:24Speaker 1: to be a captain. It's just my opinion. But Drake
- 24:27Speaker 1: trying to lead the guys feels a bit awkward and forced.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So who do you see stepping up into Diggs role?
- 24:33Speaker 3: That's a great question on the off I mean, it's
- 24:34Speaker 3: exactly what I was thinking when when Diggs was doing it.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I mean, and to the point, you know, everybody doesn't
- 24:40Speaker 3: have to be mister guy like uh, and it is
- 24:44Speaker 3: hard when someone feels forced with it.
- 24:46Speaker 2: But I think that's a you know, a great question.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I feel a little bit like, not a total app comparison,
- 24:52Speaker 3: but when they drafted Gronk, and you could tell the
- 24:54Speaker 3: team was kind of stagnant and flat and that nine
- 24:57Speaker 3: loss to Baltimore and it felt like they needed an injection.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Not exactly the same as I feel about this team now,
- 25:02Speaker 3: but when you saw Gronk come out on that stage,
- 25:05Speaker 3: you're like, this is what they need. They need this
- 25:06Speaker 3: kind of energy. I wonder if there's somebody who, you know,
- 25:09Speaker 3: could potentially bring that, because it doesn't really seem like
- 25:12Speaker 3: there's an open opportunity right now for a veteran, for
- 25:15Speaker 3: somebody who's got that kind of voice to come in
- 25:17Speaker 3: and slip into a roster spot and play like things.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Did you know, it seems like you're kind of set.
- 25:21Speaker 4: I'm less concerned about like the speeches and like you
- 25:25Speaker 4: and all that stuff. But there was a certain gravitass
- 25:29Speaker 4: towards Stefan Diggs when he walked into that locker room,
- 25:33Speaker 4: and I think we saw the wide receiver room improved significantly,
- 25:37Speaker 4: And I think his hand in just setting a tone
- 25:40Speaker 4: of you know, elite play at the top kind of
- 25:43Speaker 4: made everybody else a little bit better and fall in
- 25:46Speaker 4: line and do a little bit more within their roles.
- 25:50Speaker 4: So you know, last year they're a wide receiver room
- 25:52Speaker 4: just kind of overachieved across the board, not just to
- 25:55Speaker 4: Fon Diggs, but Matt Collins and Kai Shan Boody and
- 25:58Speaker 4: go down the line, and those guys I think fed
- 26:01Speaker 4: off of like the star power that was Stefon Diggs.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Not so much necessarily the speeches and the sideline and stuff, but.
- 26:10Speaker 7: I think Mac Collins does give you that.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Stefan Diggs comes in and sleep the receiver digs, you know,
- 26:17Speaker 8: like the reputation precedes.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Him his intensity too in that in that force in Foxborough.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I mean, we've seen it glimpses of it.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I thought it was a little bit more sustained in
- 26:24Speaker 3: this episode of the show, but you could tell how
- 26:27Speaker 3: much he cared.
- 26:27Speaker 8: Yeah, and that's front row and every meeting like leaned
- 26:30Speaker 8: in locked in.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Which game was it? It might have been after I
- 26:33Speaker 3: forget which game for able gave him the game ball,
- 26:35Speaker 3: but like you could just see how much it mattered
- 26:38Speaker 3: to him. And I think that's such a big part
- 26:39Speaker 3: of why he's such an intense player and why he
- 26:43Speaker 3: was as good as he is and kind of like
- 26:44Speaker 3: why I didn't like him when he was playing for
- 26:45Speaker 3: the Bills, because he was so competitive and you could
- 26:48Speaker 3: just you feel it like this guy wants to win
- 26:50Speaker 3: it all costs, and that's what they need more of.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I mean, I your point though, ev like you don't
- 26:55Speaker 3: necessarily we got to find a raw ross speech guy,
- 26:56Speaker 3: like where is he? Like you hope it happens organically,
- 26:59Speaker 3: but I just do wonder if there's a voice that
- 27:01Speaker 3: arises that everybody.
- 27:03Speaker 4: To me, it's like a swagger because I kind of
- 27:06Speaker 4: think the voice thing is a little overrated, Like don't
- 27:09Speaker 4: I don't really know if that's necessary. But there's a
- 27:13Speaker 4: swagger to a receiver that has the star power of
- 27:16Speaker 4: Stefan Diggs, Yeah, thank you, or of Stefan Diggs that
- 27:21Speaker 4: I don't know if they currently have now if they
- 27:24Speaker 4: trade for a certain receiver from Philadelphia, that that aura
- 27:28Speaker 4: kind of comes back walking through the door. And I
- 27:30Speaker 4: think that's one of the appeals of doing it is
- 27:33Speaker 4: just like having one of those guys that is a star.
- 27:39Speaker 1: When your best players are your best leaders, it always helps,
- 27:42Speaker 1: you know. And what Dante Scarneki has said years ago,
- 27:46Speaker 1: like when did you know that early Patriots team was
- 27:49Speaker 1: going to be good? He said, when we started to
- 27:51Speaker 1: self police, when the locker room self policed itself, and
- 27:55Speaker 1: that you know, whether it's Willie McGinnis or Rodney Harrison
- 27:58Speaker 1: or Brady himself, and your best players are your influencers,
- 28:03Speaker 1: are your leaders, then the rest of the locker room
- 28:06Speaker 1: falls in place and you hope to get to there. Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's I wonder with team building if that how
- 28:12Speaker 3: much you take that into account. But I agree with
- 28:15Speaker 3: everything that that have said. Confidence with Aj Brown though,
- 28:18Speaker 3: just walking into a building to play a game and
- 28:19Speaker 3: you know Aj Brown, the planet players know that an
- 28:23Speaker 3: injection of.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Those types of guys.
- 28:25Speaker 1: All right, anything else before we uh no, no, We.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Put out the lot of the latest draft to countdown
- 28:32Speaker 3: episode yesterday and continue to bang those out. I talked
- 28:34Speaker 3: to Field Yates today for a little interview, so he
- 28:36Speaker 3: had some good thoughts on you know, pre agency.
- 28:38Speaker 1: For the Field Gates doing.
- 28:40Speaker 2: He seems like he's doing great, great, good, you know,
- 28:42Speaker 2: handsome as ever.
- 28:44Speaker 7: Appreciate some people just have it all.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, head of hair.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Now, he's really gracious.
- 28:49Speaker 3: He's always willing to help us out, so I appreciate
- 28:51Speaker 3: him coming on and yeah, that good stuff. So those
- 28:53Speaker 3: episodes will be out every Wednesday up until the draft.
- 28:55Speaker 3: And then we'll do another live show the more early
- 28:58Speaker 3: afternoon of Round one as we we get ready. But
- 29:00Speaker 3: the thing Piel talked about that I think we're all
- 29:02Speaker 3: aware of is as he was saying, thirty one is
- 29:04Speaker 3: probably desirable for maybe a team who wants to trade
- 29:06Speaker 3: up just a little bit just to get that.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Fifth year option maybe on somebody.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So he said, you know, there's going to be some
- 29:11Speaker 3: calls for that pick, And imagine I saw sitting there
- 29:14Speaker 3: all night, and then.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Just the way that it's set up to like if
- 29:21Speaker 4: they get caught in that sort of gap between runs
- 29:24Speaker 4: of positions that they might be interested in it, I
- 29:27Speaker 4: could see them trading down in a draft like this
- 29:29Speaker 4: where it might be a little bit too high for
- 29:32Speaker 4: one of the edge rushers or one of the receivers,
- 29:34Speaker 4: but all the really good ones are already off the
- 29:36Speaker 4: board and you're kind of stuck in between the middle
- 29:38Speaker 4: of the runs there. So I don't think it's out
- 29:41Speaker 4: of the realm. And I keep bringing up the Ty
- 29:43Speaker 4: Simpson thing, like if somebody wants to come up and
- 29:45Speaker 4: get him as a quarterback, you know that's not going
- 29:47Speaker 4: to take a quarterback in the top ten because there's
- 29:49Speaker 4: only one to take in Mendoza. Then makes a lot
- 29:52Speaker 4: of sense for a team like you know, Arizona for example,
- 29:55Speaker 4: or someone like that to come up and take a
- 29:58Speaker 4: quarterback there with that option and all that, especially.
- 30:01Speaker 3: As like a developmental guy that you've got that extra
- 30:04Speaker 3: year to develop them. So yeah, yeah, stay tuned. We'll
- 30:07Speaker 3: see at about eleven thirty on Thursday night.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Richard writes in from Charleston, South Carolina. He said,
- 30:14Speaker 1: I sent an email last March seeking engagement advice. I'm
- 30:17Speaker 1: thrilled to share that I'm getting married this Saturday. I
- 30:20Speaker 1: was wondering if the PU crew had any day of
- 30:23Speaker 1: advice or marriage advice. Thanks a bunch, go Pats.
- 30:28Speaker 3: My advice on the marriage thing is just enjoy the
- 30:30Speaker 3: wedding every moment of it, because it's gonna go by
- 30:32Speaker 3: in four seconds. And it's this weird h one night
- 30:36Speaker 3: in your life where all the people that you know
- 30:38Speaker 3: and care about are in one place and you're gonna
- 30:40Speaker 3: have like little five minute conversations with everybody from all
- 30:43Speaker 3: walks of life. And it was just such a blur
- 30:46Speaker 3: for me that we were getting into We had they
- 30:49Speaker 3: played I forget what songes, but anyway, they will be
- 30:52Speaker 3: like went out, we got in the car and we
- 30:53Speaker 3: were off to like, you know, for wedding night, and
- 30:55Speaker 3: it's like, holy crap, Like it's over. We spent like
- 30:57Speaker 3: a year planning this thing and it's like boom, you know,
- 31:00Speaker 3: and you leave everybody behind. But just enjoy it, joy
- 31:03Speaker 3: and try to eat. Try to eat before because it's hard.
- 31:05Speaker 3: It's hard to at least that was my experience.
- 31:07Speaker 1: So that's the actual wedding day. Yeah, marriage, what about
- 31:10Speaker 1: marriage advice? You're not Mevin, you.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Sink I don't know. I don't know his situation, but
- 31:21Speaker 4: just and I were living together for a while before
- 31:23Speaker 4: we even got married, So to be honest with you,
- 31:26Speaker 4: not a whole lot has changed within our household. I
- 31:30Speaker 4: don't know.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Uh do the dishes, I think that I find that
- 31:34Speaker 3: to be a great thing to just like help out
- 31:37Speaker 3: around the house, A good one, chip in with the
- 31:39Speaker 3: like the dishes need to be done, hop in there.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it's a good way to keep keep keep.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I would say the way to help your marriage along
- 31:49Speaker 1: the way is be okay with saying I'm sorry or
- 31:52Speaker 1: I'm wrong, even if you're not I'm serious, I'm serious.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Just just say it. Even if sometimes you don't even
- 32:01Speaker 1: think you are sorry or that you are wrong, just
- 32:03Speaker 1: say it anyway. Yeah, I say it anyway.
- 32:06Speaker 3: It's some advice that I've heard is that, you know,
- 32:08Speaker 3: sometimes women don't want the man to solve the problem.
- 32:11Speaker 2: They just want you to listen and be supportive.
- 32:13Speaker 3: And our instinct as males is to like, well, here's
- 32:16Speaker 3: the answer, just do this, and they like, I don't
- 32:18Speaker 3: want to hear that right now.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I just want you to listen to something, because.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah, my instinct, like whether it's my son or is
- 32:23Speaker 1: to solve the problem.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:25Speaker 1: You know, you're telling me something that's wrong. Okay, well
- 32:27Speaker 1: just do that. What do you want me to do?
- 32:29Speaker 12: Right?
- 32:29Speaker 1: And that's not what they're talking about.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it takes a little while.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I mean, this would be my nineteenth wedding anniversary in
- 32:35Speaker 3: a couple of weeks.
- 32:36Speaker 2: So look at you guys, Yeah, look at us. It's
- 32:39Speaker 2: going strong.
- 32:40Speaker 4: We'll be one check.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's good.
- 32:47Speaker 1: All right, Well, congratulations on your wedding on Saturday. Good stuff,
- 32:51Speaker 1: all right. Eight five to five past five hundred is
- 32:53Speaker 1: the hotline. By the way, NFL Network's doing a bracket
- 32:56Speaker 1: on Like I don't know bad plays or I don't
- 32:59Speaker 1: know whatever, but one of them that made the bracket
- 33:02Speaker 1: was that Raiders game fail lateral fail lateral. But the
- 33:06Speaker 1: tackle by Mac Jones on the interception, Oh my god,
- 33:11Speaker 1: was that feeble boy?
- 33:13Speaker 4: You wanted to tackle Chandler Jones?
- 33:16Speaker 1: Come on, he like he was right in front of him.
- 33:20Speaker 1: He didn't even try it.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Try he did try. I got run over by.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Like It's not like Chandler Jones had a running start.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It was it was like right in front of Chandler, like,
- 33:31Speaker 1: go down, get his legs something. You know.
- 33:36Speaker 4: I think that's a little hard. I don't Mac, He's
- 33:39Speaker 4: tutored in ninety pounds defensive lines.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Get on the ground and grab his ankle until somebody.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Try he watch it.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Did you see them?
- 33:47Speaker 4: I've seen him. No, I've never seen that flaw.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Okay, well, maybe you need a refresher.
- 33:51Speaker 2: If we ever get caught.
- 33:52Speaker 3: And like, you know, sometimes we have those weird moments
- 33:55Speaker 3: where like Josh mctama is waiting to go into the
- 33:56Speaker 3: studio and we're all just kind of sitting there from it,
- 33:58Speaker 3: like I would.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Love to just hear, like what do you think about that?
- 34:01Speaker 3: Like and although like I know Jacoby Myers took like
- 34:04Speaker 3: responsibility for it, but people forget like Ramondre started it.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so like was there already mentioned of lateral
- 34:11Speaker 3: did like Ramondri just like freelance.
- 34:13Speaker 2: That one, Like why did he freelance?
- 34:15Speaker 4: That's what he said after that. I remember, I mean
- 34:17Speaker 4: I vividly remember, and I was sitting there in the
- 34:21Speaker 4: in the press conference after the game and Remandra was like,
- 34:24Speaker 4: this is also like this is my fault, Like I'm
- 34:26Speaker 4: the one that lateral did to him, and he was
- 34:28Speaker 4: like once I lateral did to him, he probably was thinking,
- 34:30Speaker 4: I guess we're doing this.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Exactly what I guess we're doing this.
- 34:39Speaker 2: But did anyone ever did the offensive now ever mention it?
- 34:44Speaker 2: You know, like I like.
- 34:45Speaker 4: He insisted at the time that he knew the score,
- 34:48Speaker 4: but I am convinced that he did not know the score,
- 34:52Speaker 4: Like I really think he thought that they That's like
- 34:57Speaker 4: the only explanation that makes any sort of sense. Throw
- 35:00Speaker 4: it backwards to your quarterback who is not.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Mobile, So like what is he? What is Max?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Like what was going through Max head? Like one one
- 35:14Speaker 2: later was like wait what what wait what?
- 35:16Speaker 10: No?
- 35:17Speaker 1: No, so yeah, just what's what's the matters? You just
- 35:25Speaker 1: went off.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I'm not talking for you.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Okay, all right, while we're doing that, let's go to
- 35:32Speaker 1: the phones eight five five, pats five hundred. We'll go
- 35:34Speaker 1: to Zach in New Hampshire. What's up Zach?
- 35:38Speaker 10: Hey?
- 35:39Speaker 13: Guys thinks taking my call?
- 35:40Speaker 1: Hey? So have you watched Fortune Foxborough yet?
- 35:44Speaker 13: I've watched the first hour. I haven't finished.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough, fair enough? So far? What do you think?
- 35:49Speaker 13: I'm loving it so far. It's it's definitely hitting all
- 35:54Speaker 13: the the needs for the off season when you're lacking football.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Okay, well you can continue now then, Okay, go ahead.
- 36:01Speaker 13: So I was just wondering if if the draft was today,
- 36:04Speaker 13: would you guys rather stay at pick thirty one, trade
- 36:08Speaker 13: up for a guy you really like, or trade the
- 36:10Speaker 13: pick for an established player?
- 36:12Speaker 1: What would I rather do?
- 36:14Speaker 4: I mean, what was the first.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Need to know who the players are that are involved here?
- 36:20Speaker 1: Like who's still on the board when I'm at thirty one?
- 36:23Speaker 14: Yeah?
- 36:23Speaker 4: You know, Deuce and I are going to be doing
- 36:25Speaker 4: our first mock drafts I think probably next week, right,
- 36:29Speaker 4: And I just without knowing what is real with this
- 36:32Speaker 4: AJ Brown stuff, It's just kind of impossible and like
- 36:35Speaker 4: they only are the only ones that know there if
- 36:37Speaker 4: they're going to trade for aj Brown in June, it
- 36:40Speaker 4: just trade. It just changes the entire approach to the draft,
- 36:44Speaker 4: like you know, in terms of pass catchers receivers especially,
- 36:48Speaker 4: But I don't know. It's hard to say right now
- 36:51Speaker 4: what exactly they would do at thirty one because there's
- 36:53Speaker 4: so much up in the air.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I don't want to trade down and get more picks,
- 36:55Speaker 1: So I either want to stay where we are or
- 36:57Speaker 1: trade every sixth and seventh round pick we have plus
- 37:00Speaker 1: the first to move up.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Yeah, what would you call for if I pitched the
- 37:04Speaker 3: case to trade up for Sadik? Like you know, like
- 37:07Speaker 3: you no, A tight end that clearly could have a
- 37:10Speaker 3: roll right out of the gate, could add something to
- 37:11Speaker 3: the offense.
- 37:13Speaker 2: He's the first name that came to mind. Otherwise, a
- 37:15Speaker 2: lot of the positions I.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Don't like, especially when I look at who goes in,
- 37:19Speaker 3: you know what twenty four to thirty one, Like, not
- 37:22Speaker 3: a lot of guys that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, you know, I don't know.
- 37:25Speaker 3: So I like some of the edges, but I also
- 37:27Speaker 3: like some of the later ages, you know, as much
- 37:28Speaker 3: as I like a cash as how like our Mason
- 37:31Speaker 3: Thomas is also very appealing to me. Yeah, different weaknesses,
- 37:34Speaker 3: of course, and different things to consider, but Sadiq's one
- 37:37Speaker 3: that I I I would love because he's just he
- 37:39Speaker 3: stands alone among the tight end group and I think
- 37:42Speaker 3: he would make an immediate impact and just give.
- 37:44Speaker 2: A jolt to the offense that I think I think
- 37:47Speaker 2: it needs.
- 37:47Speaker 4: I do wonder one of the things that we were
- 37:49Speaker 4: talking about yesterday on Cash twenty two, because Bart did
- 37:52Speaker 4: a pull deep dive into like recent trades involving the
- 37:55Speaker 4: picks that the Patriots currently have, and they he was
- 38:00Speaker 4: looking at trades up from their second round pick to
- 38:04Speaker 4: like the fringe top fifty to like move back up
- 38:06Speaker 4: because I think at thirty one, you know, we were
- 38:09Speaker 4: talking about it off the air, like Blake Miller Iana Chore,
- 38:12Speaker 4: like it makes a lot of sense to get that
- 38:14Speaker 4: next right tackle into the building, and you're probably not
- 38:16Speaker 4: going to get that if you don't draft it in
- 38:18Speaker 4: the first round. But then you don't really have like
- 38:21Speaker 4: a splash for this year, Like it didn't really make
- 38:23Speaker 4: an immediate impact. So I've been like kind of tinkering
- 38:27Speaker 4: around with, well, could they draft with the tackle of
- 38:29Speaker 4: the future on the right side at thirty one and
- 38:32Speaker 4: then trade back up from sixty five to let's say
- 38:35Speaker 4: fifty and get you know, an edge rusher or receiver
- 38:38Speaker 4: if they have to get a receiver or something like that,
- 38:40Speaker 4: and make your your kind of splash in that direction.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Let's go to Herm and DC Herm. If you watch
- 38:47Speaker 1: Forge in Foxborough.
- 38:49Speaker 15: You know what that came out?
- 38:53Speaker 1: How did you?
- 38:53Speaker 4: What?
- 38:54Speaker 16: Do you think?
- 38:56Speaker 15: It was amazing? So I loved the part about and
- 38:59Speaker 15: that's how that's how I know coach Babel is the
- 39:03Speaker 15: god for us because when he showed him the quip
- 39:06Speaker 15: about you know, gloves off with the hockey guys fighting,
- 39:10Speaker 15: that just shows how he's he's implemented the right mentality
- 39:14Speaker 15: into a football team. And then also I had a
- 39:17Speaker 15: Google Shirley Temple because I'm not a big drinker, so
- 39:21Speaker 15: there might be something I can drink moving forward when.
- 39:24Speaker 4: We go up.
- 39:25Speaker 1: You know it's non alcoholic, right.
- 39:28Speaker 15: Right, That's what I'm saying.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I'm not a drinker, So okay, gotcha?
- 39:32Speaker 15: Got you?
- 39:33Speaker 1: Anyway?
- 39:34Speaker 12: Quickly A lot?
- 39:37Speaker 4: No?
- 39:37Speaker 15: No, yeah, no, I don't I don't really drink like that.
- 39:39Speaker 15: But anyway, so I feel like there's been obviously a
- 39:42Speaker 15: lot of conversation about you know, number one wide receiver, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 39:45Speaker 15: And to me, I feel like it's been a little
- 39:47Speaker 15: bit overblown because I looked up this morning. You know, obviously,
- 39:53Speaker 15: Random Moss, terryl Owns, Megatron, Chris Codd, all these all
- 39:59Speaker 15: these guys never won a ring, right, some question to you,
- 40:03Speaker 15: is it really necessary to have a quote unquote number
- 40:09Speaker 15: one receiver to consistently win Super Bowls? If you have
- 40:15Speaker 15: that guy at obviously the most partant position, which I
- 40:20Speaker 15: know we have in Drake May.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I think the answer to your question is no,
- 40:24Speaker 1: you don't necessarily need a number one if you've got
- 40:28Speaker 1: that guy at quarterback.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Okay, well, counter Jackson Smith and Jigbo A J. Brown,
- 40:36Speaker 4: Cooper Cup.
- 40:36Speaker 17: Yeah wait a minute.
- 40:38Speaker 9: No, but yeah, of course, there's a million ways to
- 40:41Speaker 9: win a Super Bowl. I'm just I'm just naming you
- 40:43Speaker 9: have to have a number one, that's the question. I'm
- 40:46Speaker 9: just naming the most recent Super Bowl winners. Okay, so
- 40:48Speaker 9: when we go back to Randy Moss and Terrell Owens,
- 40:54Speaker 9: Jackson Smith and jig Bo, he's pretty good.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but he wasn't a big factor in the game.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Well, was he? Right, Well is gravity. I don't maybe
- 41:03Speaker 4: the way they had to defend them because he's on
- 41:05Speaker 4: the field.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Can you name teams that don't necessarily had number ones
- 41:08Speaker 1: that won Super Bowls twenty years ago? So none now,
- 41:13Speaker 1: I mean not in the last Patriots.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Then the eighteen Patriots had Gronk, you know, I you know,
- 41:20Speaker 4: the twenty Bucks had Mike Evans.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Well you know, yeah, I mean they all have Every
- 41:26Speaker 1: team has Mike Evans wide receiver. But he just rattled
- 41:29Speaker 1: off Hall of famers.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Twenty years ago. All due respect, I'm not trying to
- 41:33Speaker 4: be snarky. It just like, like you know, I just
- 41:36Speaker 4: we're talking about like Megatron's in the Hall of Fame already,
- 41:39Speaker 4: like he retired like you know, a while ago. I
- 41:42Speaker 4: think if you go back.
- 41:43Speaker 1: To Mike Evans isn't going to be a Hall of.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Famer, absolutely is. He thinks so a thousand yards for
- 41:48Speaker 4: like ten straight years in a row. He's the NFL record,
- 41:51Speaker 4: Mike Evans Hall of Famer.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I'm tougher on the Hall of Fame under.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Hall of Famer twenty like if you go to like
- 42:02Speaker 4: I would say, maybe like the seventeen the eighteen Patriots,
- 42:05Speaker 4: because Gronk was kind of slowing down, but Julian Edeman
- 42:08Speaker 4: is the MVP of the game. And then the seventeen
- 42:11Speaker 4: Eagles maybe I guess you could make a case like
- 42:13Speaker 4: didn't have like you know, it was Alshon. Jeffrey was
- 42:17Speaker 4: on that team, right, was like kind of their top guy.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Uh.
- 42:20Speaker 4: But the last like four or five Super Bowl winners really,
- 42:22Speaker 4: I would say since like twenty twenty, and even not
- 42:25Speaker 4: just the winners, it's also the teams that they played
- 42:28Speaker 4: in the Super Bowl too, you know, like the the
- 42:30Speaker 4: Bucks in twenty twenty beat the Chiefs with Tyreek Hill
- 42:33Speaker 4: and Travis Kelcey at their peak. Twenty twenty one was
- 42:37Speaker 4: MS Rams Bengals. Look at the Bengals receiving corps on
- 42:40Speaker 4: the other side of the ball, you know, just go
- 42:43Speaker 4: on down the line, like all these teams have that
- 42:46Speaker 4: sort of guy.
- 42:47Speaker 15: I Evan, Yeah, all one second, sir, Because you just
- 42:53Speaker 15: named obviously a five ye sample size right over four teams.
- 42:58Speaker 15: Then I guess you'll have a Kuka more wide receiver
- 43:01Speaker 15: that wants to the bowls. But the NFL is what
- 43:04Speaker 15: I mean, what the years old?
- 43:05Speaker 18: Right, So what about the well I think Evan's point
- 43:10Speaker 18: is the game has evolved, yes, and so let's just
- 43:13Speaker 18: take the last ten years it has been you know,
- 43:16Speaker 18: the rule changes and everything else is really skewed toward
- 43:20Speaker 18: point scoring points.
- 43:22Speaker 1: And you know, uh, having the great quarterback and Evan's
- 43:26Speaker 1: saying he's contending that also having the great wide receiver.
- 43:31Speaker 4: I just think that you have to have a great
- 43:33Speaker 4: passing game, and I think it's really difficult.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Okay, but that's different.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I think it's really difficult to have a great passing
- 43:39Speaker 4: game if you don't have a coverage dictating receiver, if
- 43:41Speaker 4: you don't have somebody like a Jackson Smith and Jigba. Like,
- 43:44Speaker 4: let's just take that to this Super Bowl as like
- 43:47Speaker 4: sort of a case study. Is Kenneth Walker the MVP.
- 43:51Speaker 4: If the Patriots are keying Kenneth Walker instead of King,
- 43:54Speaker 4: Jackson Smith and Jigba, you know, and like the way
- 43:57Speaker 4: that they had to game plan Seattle's offense and knowing
- 44:00Speaker 4: that they had a guy like JSN, that just changes
- 44:03Speaker 4: the whole complexion of how you scheme up at offense.
- 44:06Speaker 4: And then what happens in the Super Bowl is they
- 44:08Speaker 4: go a little bit lighter to equip you know, put
- 44:11Speaker 4: Gonzales on JSN, and all of a sudden, Kenneth Walker
- 44:14Speaker 4: goes off and has an MVP performance.
- 44:16Speaker 7: It also took like the best game of Gonzo's career.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Yeah right, And so you know, there's just I think
- 44:22Speaker 4: if you look, you know, to the point of the
- 44:25Speaker 4: game of evolving. I think in the last let's call
- 44:28Speaker 4: it five to eight super Bowls, both teams have been
- 44:31Speaker 4: pretty loaded when it comes to playmakers on the offensive side.
- 44:34Speaker 3: But I also say, like the last two years, the
- 44:36Speaker 3: quarterbacks haven't necessarily been elite. I mean, Sam Darnold, Jalen Hurts,
- 44:40Speaker 3: you know, it's not so long we spend like you
- 44:42Speaker 3: have to have the quarterback. I think to Evan's point
- 44:45Speaker 3: AJ Brown JSN that offsets some of maybe the shortcomings
- 44:50Speaker 3: of the quarterback. But I just think the Patriots have
- 44:52Speaker 3: shown us through their interest of pretty much every single
- 44:54Speaker 3: one of these guys, you Calvin, you know, Exced, all
- 44:57Speaker 3: those guys that have come.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Available, that they think you need it.
- 45:01Speaker 3: But I just I think a lot of this is
- 45:03Speaker 3: through fantasy football and just the term wide receiver.
- 45:05Speaker 2: One.
- 45:06Speaker 3: You want great players, you want great players, you want,
- 45:09Speaker 3: you know, and it's hard to find them. Though sometimes
- 45:11Speaker 3: you're lucky enough to draft them in the top ten.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Sometimes you got to go and to be aggressive. I
- 45:15Speaker 3: think the Patriots understand it, but yeah, I just don't
- 45:17Speaker 3: think it precludes you from being a super Bowl contender.
- 45:19Speaker 2: If you don't have.
- 45:20Speaker 4: That man I have to make up for with you obviously, Yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 4: but only guy that's done it is Momes. So like,
- 45:26Speaker 4: if we think that Drake May is going to be
- 45:28Speaker 4: as good as Patrick Mahomes was two years ago to
- 45:30Speaker 4: make up for the fact that he kind of didn't
- 45:32Speaker 4: have Tyreek Hill anymore, kind of had a slowing down Kelsey,
- 45:36Speaker 4: it's kind of like Brady in eighteen, right, Like, if
- 45:38Speaker 4: you're gonna think that Drake May is going to elevate
- 45:40Speaker 4: to that kind of level, then yeah, they would be fine.
- 45:44Speaker 4: But all these other teams that we're talking about that
- 45:46Speaker 4: have been in the Super Bowl the last four or
- 45:48Speaker 4: five years have been loaded. Well.
- 45:49Speaker 1: One of the things that we heard and forged was
- 45:52Speaker 1: when they were talking to the UH analysts, what's the
- 45:57Speaker 1: tight end from UH uh Carolina, who's now the Greg
- 46:03Speaker 1: Olsen And he said that, yeah, you know, getting to
- 46:07Speaker 1: the playoffs, you gotta be scoring points in this league.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But once you get to the playoffs, all the teams
- 46:11Speaker 1: are really good and defenses start to you know, get
- 46:15Speaker 1: the edge a little bit, so you can have that
- 46:17Speaker 1: great wide receiver, but you better have another answer once
- 46:20Speaker 1: you get to the playoffs.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I thought it was interesting to mean, Brabel,
- 46:24Speaker 3: you and Seattle did from some of Rabel's comments of
- 46:26Speaker 3: pointing out like these are real teams now, Like even
- 46:29Speaker 3: he was kind of acknowledging that they hadn't played a
- 46:31Speaker 3: lot of the iron yet and that that's what they
- 46:33Speaker 3: were going to get.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I get it.
- 46:35Speaker 3: It just hangs over everything. And that's what I think
- 46:37Speaker 3: is annoying. It's just you know that again, that's all
- 46:41Speaker 3: anybody wants to talk about is having the number one
- 46:43Speaker 3: wide receiver, and like it's it just gets annoying.
- 46:46Speaker 1: But you know, listen, having great talent on your team helps. Yeah,
- 46:49Speaker 1: of course, I don't care what the positions are. And
- 46:51Speaker 1: obviously at ride receiver it's huge if you have that
- 46:55Speaker 1: coverage dictating guy that draws attention frees up other guys.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I mean, is there something to be said though?
- 47:01Speaker 1: Too?
- 47:01Speaker 2: And I was thinking about this.
- 47:02Speaker 3: You know, the game of chess, everybody's got the same weapons.
- 47:05Speaker 3: There aren't as a number one, it's you have the
- 47:07Speaker 3: same pieces and there are certain people that are chess masters.
- 47:11Speaker 3: So is there a corollary to Drake May in this
- 47:14Speaker 3: Josh McDaniel system where it's all on the quarterback pre
- 47:17Speaker 3: snap to understand what they're doing and how to you know,
- 47:21Speaker 3: attack it. I'm not going to say that he's Tom
- 47:23Speaker 3: Brady or that he'll reach the level of Tom Brady,
- 47:26Speaker 3: but I think the whole purpose of this offense is
- 47:28Speaker 3: to have a quarterback who can navigate when we don't
- 47:32Speaker 3: have a number one wide receiver, that we can still
- 47:34Speaker 3: be productive schematically because we can beat teams with our mind.
- 47:37Speaker 4: You know.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I think I'd love to hear Tom Brady's impression of this.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Clearly, he had the greatest season of his career with
- 47:42Speaker 3: Randy Moss, but he also had an MVP season thrown
- 47:45Speaker 3: to the ghost of Dump Branch.
- 47:46Speaker 1: And so let's say the Patriots had somebody as good
- 47:50Speaker 1: as you know, a number one receivers good as Seattle had,
- 47:54Speaker 1: would they have won that game?
- 47:56Speaker 4: They have won that game?
- 47:57Speaker 2: They could have.
- 47:57Speaker 4: I don't know, we're such a mismatch that probably not.
- 48:02Speaker 4: But I don't think that that was their problem. I mean,
- 48:05Speaker 4: they had digs, So like, I think they had a
- 48:08Speaker 4: guy that was was doing that sort of thing. So
- 48:11Speaker 4: I don't necessarily think they were deficient in that area,
- 48:15Speaker 4: but I just think it when you think of the
- 48:17Speaker 4: game from like a when a defense like turns on
- 48:20Speaker 4: the tape of the Patriots on a Monday or a
- 48:22Speaker 4: Tuesday and it's starting to prepare for them on Sunday,
- 48:25Speaker 4: Like when you start to look at hierarchy of who
- 48:28Speaker 4: do we need to take out to win this game
- 48:30Speaker 4: when you don't have that kind of guy that is,
- 48:32Speaker 4: you know, drawing double teams or drawing number one corners
- 48:36Speaker 4: and all that kind of stuff. It just that trickle
- 48:38Speaker 4: down effect is really massive to a way a defense
- 48:42Speaker 4: can game plan you. And I think that you see
- 48:44Speaker 4: a lot of these different teams like that. You know,
- 48:47Speaker 4: It's why we so often see teams lead the league
- 48:50Speaker 4: in rushing or near the top of the league in
- 48:51Speaker 4: rushing that have dangerous passing games, because like that's what
- 48:55Speaker 4: defenses are devising to take away, and then the it
- 48:59Speaker 4: opens up the run game because they've got two safeties
- 49:02Speaker 4: over the top of the defense the entire time. So
- 49:04Speaker 4: I don't know, I I think it's hard to look
- 49:07Speaker 4: at the success of the league the last five or
- 49:09Speaker 4: so years and not see that all of it is
- 49:12Speaker 4: stemming from these types of things and the Patriots interest.
- 49:15Speaker 3: In all these guys. I mean, we go right down
- 49:16Speaker 3: the line we thought we've done. I mean that signals
- 49:18Speaker 3: to me that they understand it too. I think I
- 49:20Speaker 3: just get fed up with the number one and what
- 49:23Speaker 3: deems a number one. And you know that's like sadik.
- 49:26Speaker 3: I'm not saying he's going to be a number one,
- 49:27Speaker 3: but like all of a sudden, you've got a real
- 49:30Speaker 3: beast moved tight end that you can play with.
- 49:33Speaker 2: But it's it's just I mean, I know we got
- 49:34Speaker 2: Eldred on the line. How long has Elder been calling
- 49:36Speaker 2: in looking for a number one?
- 49:38Speaker 1: Fifteen years?
- 49:39Speaker 7: I was just going to ask you, guys.
- 49:41Speaker 8: I don't know if I remember as much, but the
- 49:43Speaker 8: years where Gronk was kind of slowing down, or where
- 49:45Speaker 8: he missed a season, where people calling for a wide
- 49:48Speaker 8: receiver one, when we had.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Gentlemen on the outside, especially Yea, yeah, always.
- 49:52Speaker 3: I mean there was a long like Terrell Owens is
- 49:54Speaker 3: coming out of retirement to.
- 49:55Speaker 4: Save us and still at the hurt count.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and I get it.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I just I like, I don't have a block though.
- 50:03Speaker 3: If they don't have a number one wide receiver, that
- 50:05Speaker 3: I don't believe in the team. And I think and
- 50:06Speaker 3: I think a lot of people look at it as
- 50:08Speaker 3: they don't have a number on wide receiver, they're dead
- 50:10Speaker 3: in the water.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Well, like people get hung up on if you don't
- 50:13Speaker 1: have a number one wide receiver, it doesn't guarantee you
- 50:17Speaker 1: can't win, But if you don't have a number one
- 50:19Speaker 1: wide receiver, it guarantee it won't. You can't win without it,
- 50:26Speaker 1: you know what. It doesn't guarantee that you will win,
- 50:28Speaker 1: but you can't win without it. Yeah, you know, so
- 50:31Speaker 1: I think people get hung up on that.
- 50:33Speaker 4: I just think those teams like that you're talking about Alex,
- 50:36Speaker 4: like Gronk was such a force multiplier and that like
- 50:39Speaker 4: he was just I mean run game, pass game, like
- 50:42Speaker 4: his blocking ability like that was in itself just a
- 50:46Speaker 4: dominent but he myth to deal with in every sort
- 50:49Speaker 4: of way. So like when teams, you know, got to
- 50:51Speaker 4: the Patriots, it was middle of the field, it was Gronkowski,
- 50:55Speaker 4: it was Edelman, it was taking away those types of throws.
- 50:58Speaker 4: Was like the emphasis of how to defend them all
- 51:00Speaker 4: the time, and all of us were always clamoring, well,
- 51:03Speaker 4: if you had the guy on the outside, Bill then
- 51:05Speaker 4: you know.
- 51:06Speaker 1: But even with Edelman and with Gronk or whoever else,
- 51:09Speaker 1: if you don't have Brady or someone who can see
- 51:12Speaker 1: the field and find then yeah, they're not as effective.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I just remember, like Malcolm Mitchell in the Super Bowl.
- 51:21Speaker 4: It was just one on one all day out there,
- 51:23Speaker 4: and they just kept throwing him the comebacks and he
- 51:25Speaker 4: just kept catching him in front of the corner because
- 51:28Speaker 4: all the attention was in the middle of the field,
- 51:31Speaker 4: trying to flood the middle of the field. And like
- 51:33Speaker 4: if they had had you know, Randy Moss for a
- 51:36Speaker 4: longer runway, they would have been putting up fifty touchdown
- 51:39Speaker 4: passes a year like they did in O seven.
- 51:40Speaker 3: That's my dream, that's my dream for my my time
- 51:43Speaker 3: in this job, is that they draft a stud wide
- 51:47Speaker 3: receiver and then William and Philim can call in and
- 51:49Speaker 3: Eldrid and they can.
- 51:50Speaker 4: William, I worry about William. This is.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Just one, give me one, all right, So I know
- 51:57Speaker 1: Eldred wants to probably chirp in on this. Let's go,
- 52:00Speaker 1: let's go, Aldred.
- 52:01Speaker 18: What do you got, hey, alex Hey fellows, how y'all alright,
- 52:08Speaker 18: Oh yeah, I'm cleaning your car.
- 52:10Speaker 11: But that collar? Are you crazy? Are you crazy about
- 52:14Speaker 11: number one wide receiver? Let me run it down to you.
- 52:18Speaker 11: In the seventies, Fishburn Steelers, Len Schwan, John Star Warts
- 52:23Speaker 11: in the eighties the forty nine ers, Jerry Lewis, which.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Is Jerry Jerry Lewis, Jerry.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Don't listen to them, Eldard, don't listen to them. Keep going,
- 52:35Speaker 4: you cook Man and uh.
- 52:37Speaker 11: And uh Taylor, Okay. In the eighties the triplets, you.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Had Urban and you had at the other end.
- 52:46Speaker 11: Yeah, that's ninety Q and just trying to help during
- 52:48Speaker 11: the rest of the years. You know, you got a
- 52:50Speaker 11: one wide receiver. You didn't have him because Bill wouldn't
- 52:55Speaker 11: give it to Brady. He did it with tougher toys,
- 52:57Speaker 11: but everybody else had porsches in the fiveways.
- 53:01Speaker 1: But he did win.
- 53:02Speaker 11: And there was carried stopping the middle of the field.
- 53:05Speaker 11: And I've been housing for fifteen years. Give me somebody
- 53:08Speaker 11: on the outside, and nobody like at first, Red y'all said,
- 53:13Speaker 11: now we just dead somebody in the middle. And every
- 53:15Speaker 11: year they draft the same people, every dying year. Somebody
- 53:19Speaker 11: in the middle was a short, small, faster or slower,
- 53:23Speaker 11: and I'm like, get tired of that. The long lane
- 53:25Speaker 11: defens gotta do is stop the middle because they ain't
- 53:27Speaker 11: worry about nobody on the outside. This year, when we
- 53:29Speaker 11: went to the Super Bowl and we played better DEFENSESPCI
- 53:33Speaker 11: in Seattle, they wasn't worrying about about digs, you know
- 53:37Speaker 11: that much. They wouldn't worry worrying about the other wide
- 53:40Speaker 11: receivers because they could cover up. There was taller, faster,
- 53:43Speaker 11: and meaner. And you need somebody to dictate that coverage.
- 53:47Speaker 11: Did everybody else open up healthy like like the people
- 53:50Speaker 11: did from the stepness to the nine? And that's why
- 53:53Speaker 11: I said we need that outside and get Browser at
- 53:56Speaker 11: thirty one because he won't be there at fifty.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Right, thanks Eldred, great call Aldred. Yeah, okay, he goes back.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Please just save us, Chris Brows, please, like, just make
- 54:07Speaker 3: it happen. I can't do it like we got a
- 54:09Speaker 3: number one.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Uh, Fidel Tampa, what do you got to say?
- 54:15Speaker 17: Hey, you guys, I'm gonna figure back on. I'll just
- 54:18Speaker 17: paull one thousand percent. I'll be happy with aj Brown.
- 54:23Speaker 17: But from the price of everything going on with like
- 54:26Speaker 17: Jaylen Waddle, it sounds like it's gonna be take a
- 54:29Speaker 17: first round pick blust to get him. And to be honest,
- 54:34Speaker 17: I like Ag Brown a lot. I'd rather take a
- 54:36Speaker 17: bigger swing. I really would love for us to get
- 54:39Speaker 17: like I know, it's out of the park, like a
- 54:41Speaker 17: Justin Jefferson and the Jamar Chase and Nico Collins, you know,
- 54:44Speaker 17: someone who has four years and time, Like if we
- 54:47Speaker 17: can take two first round picks and trade it, like
- 54:50Speaker 17: that was my biggest grice when we had Brady and
- 54:52Speaker 17: Belichick never surrounded him with a lot of elite weapons.
- 54:55Speaker 17: I mean we had Moss for those two years and Bronx,
- 54:59Speaker 17: but Bronc was fairly on the field half the time
- 55:02Speaker 17: sometimes and like if he was on the field and
- 55:04Speaker 17: the eleven, we would have won against the Giants the
- 55:07Speaker 17: second time around.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Healthy, Yeah he was on them, but I know what
- 55:10Speaker 4: he's yeah physic.
- 55:12Speaker 17: Yeah, so like in spirit, I'd rather take that huge swing.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 55:18Speaker 4: And then they're they're not I hear what you're saying,
- 55:21Speaker 4: but like they're not trading for Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase,
- 55:24Speaker 4: Like that's it's right, let's not live in silly Land.
- 55:27Speaker 2: I mean, that's what something.
- 55:28Speaker 1: And then what's the last time you saw a deal
- 55:30Speaker 1: like that in the NFL for number one, like you know,
- 55:33Speaker 1: a great wife Tyree Kill.
- 55:36Speaker 4: Yeah, but like those guys, they're not trading justin Jeff
- 55:41Speaker 4: first and the third.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but there were some mitigating factors there, right, Well.
- 55:47Speaker 4: His contract was up and he was reaching the end
- 55:50Speaker 4: of his rookie contract and the Titans had to were
- 55:52Speaker 4: at an impass of pay him on his second contract
- 55:55Speaker 4: or trade him, and.
- 55:56Speaker 1: They but didn't he also have the off field stuff
- 55:59Speaker 1: A J.
- 55:59Speaker 4: Brown? Tyrek Hill. Oh that's a different situation. I was
- 56:02Speaker 4: talking about AJ Brown.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Oh No, AJ Brown is different. I'm you're talking about
- 56:05Speaker 1: Tyreek Khill.
- 56:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Tyr Kill is Tyri Hill head case. Yeah.
- 56:09Speaker 4: But he also was due for a big pay day
- 56:12Speaker 4: in Kansas City, as Paul, you know, all wants to
- 56:15Speaker 4: spend billionaire's money. You know, they decided that they're going
- 56:19Speaker 4: to spread their resources out and allocated across the roster
- 56:21Speaker 4: instead of paying thirty plus million for Tyre Kill.
- 56:24Speaker 1: All right, good stuff, good conversation. We're going to have
- 56:27Speaker 1: more of it after the break and I will reveal
- 56:30Speaker 1: what Pillow I went with because I know everyone is
- 56:34Speaker 1: waiting for that. All right, We'll be right back.

- 58:22Speaker 7: Do you think makes you a great coach or what
- 58:24Speaker 7: else do you think makes some such a big coach?
- 58:27Speaker 5: I just think it's just who he is.
- 58:29Speaker 16: I think it's first and foremost just I think the
- 58:32Speaker 16: pedigree that he comes in with, you know, obviously winning
- 58:35Speaker 16: a bunch of Super Bowls here, especially when we's in Tennessee,
- 58:38Speaker 16: Like that's the first thing you kind of already gives
- 58:40Speaker 16: some credibility of what he's saying because obviously, excuse me,
- 58:43Speaker 16: he knows how to get it done, he knows what
- 58:45Speaker 16: it takes, he knows what it looks like, so it's
- 58:47Speaker 16: very easy to buy in and that aspect. So but
- 58:50Speaker 16: also then it's just you know, being the leader, but
- 58:52Speaker 16: then also being very personable. I think he does a
- 58:54Speaker 16: great job of trying to do better relationships with everybody.
- 58:57Speaker 16: Your family knows your kids' names and stuff like that,
- 59:00Speaker 16: because I think personally, just being a coach, it's very
- 59:02Speaker 16: easy or it's easier to be able to get more
- 59:05Speaker 16: out of a player when a player knows that you
- 59:07Speaker 16: actually care about it, you know what I mean. Like
- 59:09Speaker 16: I think that sometimes we know this business is transactional
- 59:12Speaker 16: on the way like this, I mean, it is a business,
- 59:14Speaker 16: but at the same time, this is the human business.
- 59:16Speaker 16: And I think when you can develop relationship with somebody
- 59:19Speaker 16: on a personal level, it's very easy to be able
- 59:21Speaker 16: to hold him accountable and to try to get more
- 59:23Speaker 16: out of them. So I think he does a great
- 59:24Speaker 16: job of doing all those things. Did you ever get
- 59:26Speaker 16: I haven't looked up yet, but it's like you look
- 59:27Speaker 16: up a little bit and it's like, man, you've made
- 59:29Speaker 16: it to eleven years in this league, high many career interceptions,
- 59:33Speaker 16: and it's all just been my work in preparation, just
- 59:35Speaker 16: staying humble, and now you've got that.
- 59:43Speaker 5: Yeah. Man, it's been a great relationship.
- 59:44Speaker 16: I think, you know, starting in twenty eighteen, having all
- 59:49Speaker 16: those great years in Tennessee, those special years, you know,
- 59:53Speaker 16: like you said with raise right if it was dry
- 59:55Speaker 16: Henry a j all the guys, we had so much fun.
- 59:57Speaker 16: And even when I left, uh, you know, Tennessee, We've
- 1:00:01Speaker 16: always stayed in contact. Ray Will still gets to Nashville
- 1:00:06Speaker 16: a little bit, so I still have my place there too.
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: We go to like the same country clubs, so I'll
- 1:00:09Speaker 16: see him a lot. I know his sons very well,
- 1:00:12Speaker 16: Tyler and Carter. Uh So we kept in contact over
- 1:00:15Speaker 16: the years and things like that, not necessarily knowing that
- 1:00:18Speaker 16: we were going to be able to join forces again.
- 1:00:20Speaker 16: But like I said, that just talks about the person
- 1:00:22Speaker 16: that he is in a great relationship that we do
- 1:00:24Speaker 16: have withether goal he is for sure. I think he
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: said he's the Caddy when he was younger, so we
- 1:00:30Speaker 16: you know, That's what I'm saying, And I think he
- 1:00:34Speaker 16: lives next to a country club too now in Nashville.
- 1:00:36Speaker 16: But but no, Uh, our relationship is really great and
- 1:00:39Speaker 16: he's definitely the better golfer.
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: For sure in more years. Do you think you want
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: to play or what do you think you have left
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: in here? Man? Uh, It's hard for me to put
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: a limit on it and number on it. You know.
- 1:00:49Speaker 16: I just feel like when when when God says that
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: I'm done playing, I think I'll be done.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: And I think I will know when I'm done. Uh.
- 1:00:55Speaker 16: As long as I contia to play at a high
- 1:00:57Speaker 16: level of the contier to play, as long as a team,
- 1:01:00Speaker 16: uh like New England values me and values what I
- 1:01:03Speaker 16: bring to the field and off the field, then I'll
- 1:01:05Speaker 16: continue to go. But you know, and I said this
- 1:01:08Speaker 16: even last year before my season Chicago, Like, you know,
- 1:01:11Speaker 16: every year at this point of my career is year
- 1:01:12Speaker 16: to year, you know what I mean.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: Like, that's how I approach it.
- 1:01:15Speaker 16: At the end of the day, I'm gonna put everything,
- 1:01:17Speaker 16: uh into it as if it's gonna be my last year.
- 1:01:20Speaker 16: And I think that's how I'm gonna just stay focused
- 1:01:22Speaker 16: in and stay hungry and stay humble. Uh that every
- 1:01:25Speaker 16: you know, every game, every snap and that every year
- 1:01:27Speaker 16: could be a last so just treated as such. Kevin
- 1:01:30Speaker 16: graduations on ny years, Thank you, thank you. It is
- 1:01:34Speaker 16: trust man, uh depling the case. I see three years
- 1:01:39Speaker 16: to be thirty five six. I'm good at now.
- 1:01:42Speaker 14: Yeah, you are sounds like this, So Bob, we beppose
- 1:01:45Speaker 14: to your last slot? Are you treating a championship because
- 1:01:48Speaker 14: you have gone to a team that wasn't a really
- 1:01:50Speaker 14: good this is a movie you're coming here to.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: No, absolutely, I said this about I think before you
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: came over here. But now you're good. Uh.
- 1:01:58Speaker 16: I had basically two teams, teams that I wanted to
- 1:02:00Speaker 16: play for, you know, this offseason obviously, you know, with
- 1:02:03Speaker 16: the year we had in Chicago, that was going to
- 1:02:05Speaker 16: be the first option.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: And once I.
- 1:02:07Speaker 16: See that that wasn't going to work out, it was
- 1:02:09Speaker 16: New Englam, you know what I mean, And didn't necessarily
- 1:02:11Speaker 16: know if it was gonna work out. But going into
- 1:02:13Speaker 16: the officely going into like the common talking to my agent, like,
- 1:02:15Speaker 16: those are two teams that I want to play for
- 1:02:18Speaker 16: because I think the hardest thing that you can get
- 1:02:20Speaker 16: in this league is the quarterback situation good and I
- 1:02:24Speaker 16: think New England definitely has that with a you know,
- 1:02:26Speaker 16: MVP runner up in the second year.
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: I think Drake May is a phenomenal player.
- 1:02:30Speaker 16: I've heard nothing but great things about him from most
- 1:02:33Speaker 16: people in the organization before I got here. And like
- 1:02:37Speaker 16: you said, this defense has a lot of great pieces.
- 1:02:39Speaker 16: So I just want to be uh somebody's going to
- 1:02:42Speaker 16: add on to it, uh, and just you know, bring
- 1:02:44Speaker 16: everything that I have, uh, that I've learned over the
- 1:02:47Speaker 16: years to try to just serve this groups as best
- 1:02:49Speaker 16: as I can.
- 1:02:50Speaker 21: Of course, when Mike played here, dwenton got a veteran
- 1:02:54Speaker 21: say TV about the Harrison.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: Yes, yes for you. Now his new Hodney Harrison.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: Is that what's happening?
- 1:02:59Speaker 16: No, And I'm pretty sure y'all know all about Brave
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: when all his rules. He don't like to make comparisons
- 1:03:03Speaker 16: and stuff like that. Now, I don't want to compare
- 1:03:05Speaker 16: myself to Rodney. I think Rodney was a fun noumenal player.
- 1:03:08Speaker 16: We're good friends. I talked to him all the time,
- 1:03:10Speaker 16: especially because he do the Sunday night football so we'll
- 1:03:12Speaker 16: see each other all the time.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: But I just want to be me. I think that'd
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: be enough.
- 1:03:16Speaker 16: I want to continue to I mean, take the ball away,
- 1:03:20Speaker 16: that's what I do best take the ball away, get turnovers.
- 1:03:23Speaker 16: But in that way, I definitely want to be able
- 1:03:25Speaker 16: to be that veteran presence on the back end on
- 1:03:28Speaker 16: his team to try to continue to help this team
- 1:03:30Speaker 16: and help the culture stay what it is, and that's
- 1:03:32Speaker 16: a winning culture.
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: I apolge.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: I think you were already asked this, but I just
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: was curiuable.
- 1:03:38Speaker 22: How would you describe wargate coming in to this New England,
- 1:03:42Speaker 22: how you can make an impact?
- 1:03:43Speaker 11: Tear?
- 1:03:43Speaker 16: Yeah, I think I'm one of the more most well
- 1:03:46Speaker 16: rounded Savitis in this league. You know, I think everybody
- 1:03:49Speaker 16: knows me for my ballhark and talents to catch all
- 1:03:52Speaker 16: intercepts things like that. But you know not last year
- 1:03:56Speaker 16: they had ninety three tackles, but the two years prior
- 1:03:58Speaker 16: to now I had one hundred and thirty tap it
- 1:04:00Speaker 16: was one hundred twenty something tackles. So I can get
- 1:04:02Speaker 16: in the box, played it run very well. But also
- 1:04:05Speaker 16: my strongs who is being b ab to be back there,
- 1:04:07Speaker 16: we'd a center fielder and be able to take the
- 1:04:09Speaker 16: ball away through team. So I take a lot of
- 1:04:11Speaker 16: pride in that and really whatever this coaches that asked
- 1:04:14Speaker 16: me to do, I'm gonna do it to the best
- 1:04:15Speaker 16: of my ability.
- 1:04:15Speaker 22: So I think I'm very rare with in that secondary
- 1:04:17Speaker 22: another guy who likes to, you know, take the ball aways,
- 1:04:21Speaker 22: Christian Gonzalez. What's your impression of him and much your
- 1:04:24Speaker 22: level of excitement to kind of play back there with him.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: Yeah, he's one of the best coins in this league.
- 1:04:27Speaker 16: You know, when I first got a Chicago Jalen Johnson,
- 1:04:30Speaker 16: I think he was just getting a new contract coming
- 1:04:32Speaker 16: off of Pro Bowl and stuff like that. That was
- 1:04:34Speaker 16: my first real opportunity to play with like a true
- 1:04:37Speaker 16: shut down number one corner. I see Christian Gonzalez in
- 1:04:40Speaker 16: that same light. Like I said, he's a phenomenal player.
- 1:04:43Speaker 16: I mean, he has lymph, he has speed. I haven't
- 1:04:46Speaker 16: talked to him just yet personally, but he ain't got
- 1:04:49Speaker 16: a worry about me shading to his side of the field,
- 1:04:51Speaker 16: Like you can lock that stuff down and we'll we'll
- 1:04:52Speaker 16: go to the other side.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: We'll cover the rest. But no, I think he's a
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: phenomenal player.
- 1:04:56Speaker 14: Kevin the the NFFDA to aim all like the snack
- 1:04:58Speaker 14: count tal players and stuff.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: Uh, is that you missed only two snaps the entire season?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: You remember when they.
- 1:05:04Speaker 16: Were Yeah, they were like a certain goal line package
- 1:05:07Speaker 16: that uh Jakwon Brisker was the only safety end. So
- 1:05:10Speaker 16: I came out of those plays, but it wasn't missed
- 1:05:12Speaker 16: for any injuries. Like said, I'm normally used to playing
- 1:05:14Speaker 16: basically every single snap of every game. I've been doing
- 1:05:17Speaker 16: that my entire career, except for my Rock year while
- 1:05:19Speaker 16: I didn't start every game. Uh but yeah, like I said,
- 1:05:21Speaker 16: I take pride in being available. You know, I think
- 1:05:25Speaker 16: availability is the best ability, and uh, you know, you
- 1:05:27Speaker 16: can't you can't make the team, you can't make plays
- 1:05:30Speaker 16: in the in the in the cult of So I
- 1:05:32Speaker 16: try to try to do my best to be available
- 1:05:34Speaker 16: and that's with the preparation, just my recovery routine and everything.
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: Over the course of your Now it's you're alive in
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: the year.
- 1:05:40Speaker 22: Like, what has stood out to you about how the
- 1:05:42Speaker 22: league has changed?
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: Is it like the nutrition? Is it the social media?
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: What what stands out to you about just how being
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: ANFL player has cheated?
- 1:05:51Speaker 16: I think it's you know, it changes all the time,
- 1:05:53Speaker 16: but it's in multiple ways. I think it's like the
- 1:05:55Speaker 16: way offenses operate, you know what I mean, Like.
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: The earth of my.
- 1:06:00Speaker 16: Career, Like there's a lot more tight end sets, and
- 1:06:03Speaker 16: then now everything would just like spread open all his
- 1:06:05Speaker 16: limp person now. But now you're starting to see even more,
- 1:06:08Speaker 16: like you're starting to see like this this changeing like
- 1:06:12Speaker 16: the tight ends. Like so a lot of teams that
- 1:06:14Speaker 16: you used to play was like you had your one
- 1:06:16Speaker 16: blocking tight end, your one tight end that was like
- 1:06:19Speaker 16: more like the receiver receiving tight tight end, so you
- 1:06:22Speaker 16: kind of easily match up. Personal is like, Okay, we
- 1:06:24Speaker 16: know what this guy does best, what this guy doesn't.
- 1:06:27Speaker 16: But nowadays some of these tight ends are just like
- 1:06:29Speaker 16: they could they could catch, So it's kind of hard
- 1:06:32Speaker 16: to be able to tell. Like for example, like the
- 1:06:33Speaker 16: Chicago they drafted a guy coast and Loving last year. Well,
- 1:06:36Speaker 16: I think personally it's gonna be all pro probably, if
- 1:06:38Speaker 16: not next year to year. At the next it was
- 1:06:40Speaker 16: a really good tight end. But that's a little bit different.
- 1:06:43Speaker 16: I think now on defense, it's like it's not really
- 1:06:46Speaker 16: a lot of like three linebackers on the field anymore.
- 1:06:50Speaker 16: Everybody's basically base defense. It's five dbs. If you can
- 1:06:53Speaker 16: get six dv's out there, you probably try to get six.
- 1:06:56Speaker 16: If the six dv can hit like a linebacker so
- 1:06:59Speaker 16: it's just trying to get as much get out there
- 1:07:00Speaker 16: on the field as possible because as a passing the
- 1:07:02Speaker 16: lead nowadays, every every rule, every you know, penalty is
- 1:07:07Speaker 16: to get the office in the end zone. So s
- 1:07:10Speaker 16: trying to get as much speed out there. So the
- 1:07:12Speaker 16: game has definitely changed in a lot of ways. I mean,
- 1:07:14Speaker 16: we can have a deeper talk about this, but probably
- 1:07:16Speaker 16: don't got enough time for it. But it's definitely changed
- 1:07:21Speaker 16: and now great moments in history.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: My point was like Alex is just saying that you
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: can't You couldn't imagine to eight, and either could have.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: That's I couldn't have either, because I thought that at
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: the very worst, they would just be.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: To think I'm really I am negative and I don't
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: think of that.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: But even I don't, I don't think you don't hurt
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: that well. But but you said seven wins is their ceiling, right, Yeah,
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: And I don't necessarily disagree with that. They're not going
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: to get to seven wins.
- 1:07:50Speaker 21: But when they're ceiling, if everything fell in from in
- 1:07:52Speaker 21: other words, if they stayed healthy, everything fell in place.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: But they were but everybody wasn't hurtect close the.
- 1:07:57Speaker 21: Other teams got hurt you didn't like, maybe you could
- 1:07:59Speaker 21: win seven games.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: That's how I felt about this team.
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: I know, but I don't necessarily disagree with that. If
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: they're two and eight, Paul, like there, I thought the
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: four games, that's going to be a lot.
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: I didn't think the offense could get worse than I.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: Didn't think that I would.
- 1:08:13Speaker 21: I would, that's the side on that, but that's my
- 1:08:15Speaker 21: I didn't think the offense could be worse than it once.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: And my question is just I think we all kind
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: of agree that, like six, I feel like we said
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: a lot. Six six wins feels like the floor for
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: this team. Like he's too good a coach to not
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: get them six wins. Why aren't we the six wins
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: this year?
- 1:08:28Speaker 21: You know, yeah, I would have said it's like see,
- 1:08:32Speaker 21: I wouldn't playing. I know you think I'm probably lying,
- 1:08:37Speaker 21: but I'm not either for it because I think there's
- 1:08:38Speaker 21: some teams that they could be just like the last
- 1:08:41Speaker 21: couple of games they played, they could have won.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: That would be a big mistake.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: That's another great moment from.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: All right back camp Patriots on Filter at a five
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: five past five hundred. It's the hotline, it's deuce, it's Alex,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: it's Evan, it's me, it's Matt and Nabooth and Paul
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: is doing Loser Palooza, sitting in front of the TV
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: watching first Round March Madness with his loser friends.
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: Did you listen in public or at a house or.
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: Overtime?
- 1:09:13Speaker 8: But in that kind of place, we should have sent
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: a camera hidden one miller, like all day?
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Do they take up space?
- 1:09:21Speaker 8: Would if I was that waitress exactly trying to turn
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: the tables get the hell out?
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I don't know say that ahead of time.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: That's different. Like we'll go to watch games, but not
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: not for hours and hours, but a game. And I'll
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: say when we sit down, like we're going to hang
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: out to watch the game, Like that way that.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: You give him an extra tip, Yeah, and that way.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: There the waiter knows that like we're we're hanging out
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: for a while. This isn't like in and out.
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: You got to run up a bill. If you're going
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: to do you got to keep the drinks, no problem.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, well free refells on the diapepsis to that's
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: he's probably.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Another another refill.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: No, I'm playing the drinking his light there.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: It's not like a sports book either, so he's just
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: like sitting there like just watching Dubs.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Oh boy. Anyway, that's what Paul's doing. So we'll get
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the lowdown on.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Did you guys watch like like when you were in school,
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: Like we used to like during lunch or something. There's
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: always that cool teacher would let you come in and
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: like watch like the basketball games. Wow, oh yeah never
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: Yeah maybe that was you guys. Wasn't interested anyway, Maybe
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: you guys were too old for then.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Probably they didn't have TV.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: Yeah, no, we always had like or like if the
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: Red Sox were playing like opening day, like during the
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: school day and say, yeah, I.
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: Had a teacher, Miss Olmo. She's the Olmo oh Lmo.
- 1:10:39Speaker 8: I love that woman. She had divorced so that's not
- 1:10:42Speaker 8: her last name anymore. But the Bruins were in the
- 1:10:44Speaker 8: Stanley Cup in twenty eleven and it was the finals
- 1:10:47Speaker 8: and she like gave everyone an extra week to do
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: a project that was due the next day so everyone
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: could watch the Stanley Cup.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: We got to watch the Challenger blow up.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Wow, that's the only thing I remember watching on TV
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: and school. Great story, Oh my god, we got damn
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: that was it? Only memories college basketball.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: And otherwise it was film strips. I mean, you guys
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: too young for film strips that did that.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: Yeah, projector though, projectors, right, and.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: I remember when our high school got smart boards. It
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: was like a really big deal and.
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: Only a couple of classes got them too.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: I think that was the big deal. But we used
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: to have projectors are like the TV on wheels.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Amost to have to clap erasers after class. That's how
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: long ago.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: I went, right, right, they still have like the like
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: they have to like push the things over for calculators.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: God, like the Choka. God, the sound of it just
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: drives me.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Did you guys ever watch Voyage of the Mimi.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: No?
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: No, it was like it was like a middle school
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: science movie. It's like young ben Affleck though, it's like
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Ben Affleck at like fourteen years like Armageddon. Oh even yeah,
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: getting only set on a boat. Yeah, and they go
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: on like you know, the science adventures.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: And I don't know it was a school thing. I'm
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: just a little better fly all right, great opening song.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: A lot of good emails coming in Jock from Decatur, Georgia.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Was Forge of Fossboro always meant to be four episodes,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: with the last one being a season recap pretty much yep. Also,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: did you guys feel the team was balls to the
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: walls and the Super Bowl playing with nothing to lose?
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I compared to the Saints Super Bowl win, where even
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: though they were less of a surprise team, people really
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: gave them no chance to win the game. Never got
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: that feeling from the Patriots until the fourth quarter. Do
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: you think they were balls? I think they were trying
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: their hardest, but they just didn't have any answer. When
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: you lose the trenches, it's very hard to win.
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: I thought that was fighting for their lives.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: At a certain point you kind of get to a
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: point of acceptance with it. But I thought that right
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: after the game, when we talked about it in the
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: following week, that like they didn't really empty the clip.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: Like there was things that I felt like offensively they
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: left on the cutting room floor, and I, I don't know.
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: The waiting trick play or something, Yeah, trick.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: Play six, offensive line like something, something that was, you know,
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: a wrinkle that was somewhat unique that they had in
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: their back pocket, and it just never they never pulled well.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Especially there was kind of a throwaway line that Vrabel
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: had at halftime. He said something to the effect of,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: you know, I hope we all you know what you say,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: let it loose. Let it loose in the second half,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: and he kind of glanced quickly toward the offense, like
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I think he was talking to them and to Josh.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I think for me, part of the problem was just
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: getting an early play, making that early play too, especially
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: offensively where they couldn't sustain really anything. But you know,
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: even defensively, I thought they were really close, and that,
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: you know, was my one would have, could have, should
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: have if they had one of those plays to kind
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: of build on. When this defense was rolling last year,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: you could feel that energy, like, man, they are on fire.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: You never never got to that point.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: I mean, they were playing like they weren't given up touchdowns,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: they were doing everything they could. It was just a
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: lot to ask to now have that big play as well.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: You know, I think it wasn't the defense. It wasn't
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the defense.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: There was a couple of times they were close, like
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: Chase On I think, came around the edge and almost
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: strip sacked Darnold, but his arm was like just moving
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: forward and Marcus, Yeah, like there's a couple of those
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: that maybe that could have changed the tide. But if
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: I had, you know, true Serra moment with Josh McDaniels,
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: I would have been like, what was it something that
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: I'm missing that wouldn't allow you to like kind of
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: empty the bag, you know, because it felt like they
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: kind of just went down with the ship with what
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: they had kind of planned going in, and.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: We're not going to do anything to help them if
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: we make a mistake.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I think it's hard to when you
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: just feel like you can't block them.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Right, that's it. I mean, that's like, that's like I said,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: if you lose the trenches, I don't know, it's it's
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: really hard to win, you know that. Oh seven, Yeah,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: they could couldn't block. They couldn't block. Brady was on
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: the siege.
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but like the emailer brought up the Saints, like
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: they on side kicked out a halftime. Now they can't
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: do that anymore, but they did it at the time,
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: and it was Sean Payton was revered for it, right,
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: And I'm not right obviously, but like they they knew
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: they were the underdog, they knew they needed to create possessions,
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: and they did something to create a free possession.
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you compared it all to the Super
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Bowl thirty six, where you know, you got plays, you
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: got a pick six from.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Tylott, you know it.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: I mean the offense was kind of similarly stagnant, but
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: you got those defensive plays. And if you had the
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: defensive plays this time, and you know, all of a sudden,
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Darnald starts to get in his own head.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: I mean, Nevin't said something we.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Were talking earlier, like could you just get him to
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: the point where he has to chase a little he
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: has to press a little bit, And you never really did.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: Even at nineteen seven. I was like, if you get
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: the ball back and you score again, and it's nineteen fourteen,
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: at least you're putting some game pressure. We can do
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: something and then we all pick and rest his history.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Gerald and Burlington. Earlier today, you were talking about wishing
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: there was an ability to tweak your algorithm on social media.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Spotify is getting ready to beta test that ability for
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: its premium users, so it may be coming soon. Okay, okay, cool,
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: I just music to me is a lot simpler. Yeah,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: And you know it makes sense that they do that.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: But you know, when you talk about like X and Instagram.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: It's just so broad. To me, it's more important to
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: be able to tweak your algorithm in those platforms.
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: I think it's more it's really bad on Facebook, but
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: like all these AI generated posts that are PhH, my god,
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: are like getting really really bad.
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: My grandmother falls victim to one per week. I have
- 1:16:47Speaker 8: to start sending you guys. Then she sent me an
- 1:16:49Speaker 8: AI generated image of Mac Jones getting or not mac
- 1:16:52Speaker 8: Jones Drake May getting arrested. But it didn't even look
- 1:16:55Speaker 8: like Drake May. It looked like a hybrid of Mac
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: and Drake, and it was like he gets arrest in Westwood, Massachusetts,
- 1:17:01Speaker 8: except it's like police on the cars like a European
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: I'm not put it in the newsletter.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Oh boy, yeah, my poor grandma. It goes back to
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: like the thing I said about Tennessee.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Like with the algorithm, it's like you might just be
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: interested in something for a second and like you want
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: to check it out, but that doesn't mean that you
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: need to be fed everything about this for eternity. Like
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: I just you know, not everything, uh is one of
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: your interests. You're just you know, floating around.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: That if God forbid, you search something on Google and
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: then you go to YouTube.
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: And God forbid, you say something out loud to your
- 1:17:31Speaker 8: friend and you're gonna gets for it.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Well, we talked. Something happened. We were talking the other week.
- 1:17:36Speaker 11: Oh you and I.
- 1:17:36Speaker 8: We were talking about Portuguese citizenship and is it Portugal right.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Gerald also says I was listening to an NFL podcast
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: yesterday and the hosts were implying the Giants are shopping
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: cave On Thibodeaux for a third or fourth round pick.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: If that is all he's going to cost. Would you
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: be interested in him for the Patriots.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: Yes, I would assume he's being shopped. I mean they
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: have three guys, Burns, Carter, Dibodeaux. I think he was
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: what twenty twenty two or three draft, I don't remember which.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: One says he's coming up on his rookie contract expiring
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: and all that good stuff, So I don't know what
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: it would take, but I assume that he can be
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: had for the right price.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Dylan wrightes in I have I think a surprisingly uneasy
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: reaction to the latest episode of Forge and Foxborough. Prior
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: to the episode, I felt great about the offseason and
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: thought that all of our players we moved on from
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: were pretty replaceable. Watching Forge Man, the season highlights really
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: show the locker room, sideline and big moment impact of
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: a pretty big list of players no longer on the Patriots. Digs,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Chase On and even Tavai were pretty big voices in
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: the locker room in sideline, and a lot of the
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: highlights of the season were Jennings, Tonga, Diggs, Gibson and
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Chason And I'm not trying to overvalue these players. However,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: we just did this last year where we got rid
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: of a lot of the team leaders and voices then
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: run in all new ones and it worked. And now
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: it seems like, besides the key guys like Drake, Henry
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and Williams, we're kind of doing it again. Interested if
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: anyone feels this way, and I know most people like
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Kevin will just say who cares you have Drake and
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: Vrabel to a certain degree, I agree with that because
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: those are the most important, But we're really rolling the
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: dice on the other voices. I think I.
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: Think you're exchanging what the emailer saying, which I think
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: is a takeaway that all of us had from watching
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: Forge with hopefully what is like upside and higher ceiling
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: players yeah, and that's an exchange that I think as
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: a building team that you a risk you kind of
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: need to take. Is okay, those guys were all important
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: to the team last year and then respect the emailer
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: laid out, but talent wise, can we do better?
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: And I think that ultimately that's something that you just.
- 1:19:53Speaker 8: Have to And we made the joke about how far
- 1:19:55Speaker 8: they got Evan's favorite line like the power of friendship,
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: and then it actually started working. Can you run back
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: the power of friendship a second year?
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: Well it worked until it didn't too right and he
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: ran into a bunch of grown men in Seattle and
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: it didn't work better in d Line. So right, So, like,
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: you know, I think that that's that's the hope. And
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: I hear what the email are saying though, I mean,
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: I think there's a lot of guys even you know,
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: we talked about it even before Forage came out, that
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: you know, there was there's going to be a leadership
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: void that they're going to have to you know, figure
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: out a way to fill.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: But I think the biggest leader on the team is
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: very and he's still here. It's his culture, and I
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: think you know, there are you know, not everyone's leaving, you.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: Know, explain Morgan Moses, there's still some really prominent absolute.
- 1:20:38Speaker 7: And you're bringing bayered. Like, listening to that guy talk,
- 1:20:41Speaker 7: I'm like, hell yeah, I.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: Mean we talked about Rabel bringing in guys he knows.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: I look at it as a good sign that he's
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: not afraid to move on from guys he knows too.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: And you know it isn't just saying well, I'm just
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: going to stick with what I know.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: I think they've taken some risks this year, you know,
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: letting you know some of those guys go. But to
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: Evan's point, trying to take maybe a half step back
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: in the offseason to take a full step step and
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: a half two steps this fall hopefully.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, like Bradbury, big, big part. But we
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: all think Jared Wilson is a part of the future.
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: And Elijah Vera Tucker when he's healthy, is a better player.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: So like, yeah, you might be losing Bradbury, who's a
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: great dude. I mean, I'm one of my favorite people
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: I've ever recovered. But you lose him, Yeah, but you might.
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: You're hoping that talent wise, you get you get better.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: For all the people that were. You know, they made
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: the Super Bowl, but they were lucky to get there,
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: and it's gonna you know, if you're one of those kind.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Of people like I think you should feel like they
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: felt similar. Yeah, we got to the super Bowl here,
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: but we still have a lot of work to do,
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: and we're not going to be married to something or
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: someone just because it worked pretty well last year and
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: we got to that point, it's going.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: To have to be better this year.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: I think they definitely are telling you that they were
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: in the super Bowl, but they don't feel like they
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: were a super Bowl team.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: All right, Back to the phones, eight five to five
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: past five hundred. Randy's in Providence. What's up, Randy, Hey,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: how's it going, guys.
- 1:22:04Speaker 12: I've got three draft related questions for you. Number One,
- 1:22:09Speaker 12: do you guys think that cornerback is an understated need?
- 1:22:14Speaker 12: You know, two of the three losses, Gonzalez was injured.
- 1:22:18Speaker 12: Carlton Davis has only been fully healthy for one out
- 1:22:21Speaker 12: of his eight career years in the NFL, so that
- 1:22:24Speaker 12: was last year. So like, we can't count on luck.
- 1:22:26Speaker 12: We need a reliable cornerback. Three, we signed a cornerback
- 1:22:30Speaker 12: this morning. I don't know if that's the guy, but
- 1:22:33Speaker 12: maybe targeting like a third fourth range someone like pry Thock,
- 1:22:37Speaker 12: Dyalen Everett, Davison Aguanosa maybe and then Detackle. I don't
- 1:22:43Speaker 12: know if you guys caught that on x Twitter. Corey
- 1:22:48Speaker 12: Durdin was kind of like almost offended by the pick
- 1:22:50Speaker 12: of a nose tackle by Daniel Jeremiah in his latest
- 1:22:54Speaker 12: mock draft. Do you think he could be a bigger
- 1:22:56Speaker 12: part of the team, Like he had good pass rush
- 1:22:58Speaker 12: grades last year. Is really intense out there on the field.
- 1:23:02Speaker 12: And then you've also got Joshua Farmer coming back, so
- 1:23:05Speaker 12: could the perceived need on the defensive line be a
- 1:23:08Speaker 12: little less than something? And then like lastly, Mike Washington
- 1:23:13Speaker 12: junior interest is that real? And could they take him
- 1:23:16Speaker 12: at thirty one? They took Henderson at thirty eight last year,
- 1:23:19Speaker 12: so obviously they're comfortable taking one in that range, like
- 1:23:23Speaker 12: Elliot Wolf at the combine compared that range right scouting
- 1:23:27Speaker 12: wise and so forth. So could they take a running
- 1:23:30Speaker 12: back there? He's bigger, he's faster.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Why not?
- 1:23:33Speaker 12: I guess what do you guys think? They They've obviously
- 1:23:36Speaker 12: really attacked the run game this offseason, so what you know,
- 1:23:40Speaker 12: could a new younger running back that's really fast and
- 1:23:44Speaker 12: big be the next logical step in that process, all
- 1:23:46Speaker 12: right than.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Jesus well, especially one with seven fumbles.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: Andre and Travon Henderson on the roster and take it
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: running back at thirty one. Yeah, and running back that
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: I think most people think is like a Day two pick.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: And his first one was is cornerback and underrated need?
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: Uh, glad he brought it up.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: We're going to shoot the cornerback and safety segment after
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: this show, so this is top of mind. I think
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: he brought up a lot of good points. I think
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: it is a depth need. But they mean they do
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: have eight corners? Yeah, yeah, And I mean this is more.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: I mean I think Evan brought it up last week
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: when it's you're talking about, well.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Who's our fifth corner? You know you'd love to have
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: problem sha.
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: I mean exactly what I've been saying when we get
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: this question.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: And I think he's totally right to bring up Carlton
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Davis's health.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: Even though we played every game this year, there were
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: probably at least thirteen games where we thought he was
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: going out for something and then came back. It was
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: like Carlton Davis out, he's back. They did a great
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: job managing him last year, I think, But that.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: Marcus Jones, I just think that if my only point
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: about cornerback to play Devil's Advocate is we can do
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: this across the entire roster. Like Randy just brought up
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: running back and the need for a third running back
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: we brought We could bring up a line, the need
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: for linebacker depth. You could bring up tight end and
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: the need for tight end depth safety and then Kevin
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: Byern's on a one year contract like this is that's football? Like,
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: you could do this across the entire roster. Do they
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: need better depth at corner possibly? But where are you
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: taking that? You know, are you team mentioned a couple
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: guys that are like third or fourth round picks. I
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: think that's probably where the conversation would start to me about,
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: you know, talking about corners, and I don't really like it.
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: In the top one hundred, they have two fourth round picks.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: If they use one of those on a cornerback that
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: they liked, I'm not going to kill them for it.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: But you know, I just look at the I would
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: say pretty much every single NFL roster has that question,
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: Like we really like our starting corners, but like what
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: happens if one of them gets hurt?
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: You know, I think every single team in the league
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: is asking themselves those types of questions.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: I just say, put some you know, I'm curious to
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: see Marcello style. I thought had a good camp last year,
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: then he got hurt towards ACL you know, Kobe Minor
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: was a guy who got called up late. Charles Woods
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: played some meaningful snaps last year. Is as replacement, so
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: you know, they do have those three guys as death.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: I think some of the stuff I'm looking at with
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: like a bigger slot, you know, and that kind of
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: is a little bit of an overlap with maybe a safety,
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: just giving them more options to deal with tight ends
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: and running backs, especially tight ends, and.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: Not putting that on Spellane.
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: You know, maybe it's a maybe it's a week side
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: linebacker two that you kind of pair with him.
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: That's talking about that on catch twenty two yesterday, because
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: it's interesting, like so many of these bigger safeties, the
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: heaviest safety in the draft this year is only two
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: hundred and fifteen pounds because so many of those guys
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: are now listed as linebackers. Yeah, because they're like low
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: two twenties at linebacker instead of being low two twenties
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: as you know, like a box safety. So do you, like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: how do you split that atom of a lot of
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: the safeties in this classroom. When I went through all
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: of them, I was like, I like, who's who's the
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: cam Chancellor? Like right, Like, who's the guy that when
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: somebody comes over the middle, he's gonna he's gonna feel
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: his presence That doesn't like really exist as much. All
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: these guys can cover really well, but I don't necessarily
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: see that. And then I thought to myself, I was like, Oh,
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: it's because they're all playing linebacker. So like, you know,
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: the guys that are like that, the Kyle Lewis is,
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: the Harold Perkins is, Like those guys are all technically
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: listed at linebackers. So which one do you draft? Is
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: like long witted way of saying that, Like do you
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: draft an athletic coverage linebacker that can do the things
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: that you're saying? Or do you draft another cover safety
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: that can do those types of things?
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: Yeah? Interesting, Chuck and Wisconsin, you're up.
- 1:27:30Speaker 23: Chuck A Hey, hey, hey, first time caller, Love you guys. Hey,
- 1:27:38Speaker 23: you really anchor the coverage in a central way. Uh,
- 1:27:42Speaker 23: And I really love Paul's at Home, But I really
- 1:27:44Speaker 23: love I'll Paul Explainspelger and how you line the whole
- 1:27:49Speaker 23: things together as far as the media coverage. So but yeah,
- 1:27:52Speaker 23: thank you guys for anchoring it. A couple of points.
- 1:27:57Speaker 23: I wanted to get some opinions on, uh, playing Howie's
- 1:28:01Speaker 23: game in the AJ Brown trade. Do you guys think
- 1:28:05Speaker 23: that signing Hollywood Brown has anything to do with maybe
- 1:28:10Speaker 23: leveraging a current Patriots player out of a deal.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Like Booty?
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: I mean, like they kind of have an outside guy
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: now and they wouldn't want to take.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: Booty in a trade.
- 1:28:19Speaker 23: Booty was the top of the list. Like, it just
- 1:28:21Speaker 23: makes sense Mike that you know, you would put Booty
- 1:28:24Speaker 23: in there to give Philly something to roll with.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: So now Philly says we don't need any Well, I
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: think it's just a one year deal for Hollywood Brown.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: I mean, I think just to get the guy in
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: the building and have some already work going on with him.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: But I do I do see it a little bit
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: related just generally speaking, that if you're going to have
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: to move on, you know from AJ Brown that you're
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: gonna want to have some quality depth and a guy
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: who can play on the outside and has some speed.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: So I see a little bit. I don't know you're
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: drawing the line.
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: I don't know if that's necessarily the case, but I
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: mean it does make sense on paper if you're going
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: to swing him to maybe give up somebody like Booty
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: who could fill in some of his snaps.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I think you're going to find out
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: a lot about Phillies intentions. Like if they draft a receiver,
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: you know that that's also another tell that maybe they're
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: moving on. I mean, the Hollywood deals what, it's a
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: one year deal, So maybe they're thinking, we'll sign Hollywood
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: Brown for a year, We'll draft a receiver, and then
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: when we trade A J. Brown, we kind of have
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: that depth built around him. I don't know, but there's
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: a lot of smoke about A J. Brown. And he
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: was doing another some sort of TikTok thing yesterday where
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: he's talking about his Patriots fandom and all this kind
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: of stuff and influencing. Yeah, I don't know, I'm like Jesus,
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: Ricky came back. Ricky today he had a report and
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: he deleted his account again, you know, like we're just
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: is in place.
- 1:29:41Speaker 7: This is the dog, Ricky, Ricky the dog.
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: This is like NBA Central. But like I've been.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: Told that the Eagles and Patriots have an agreement in
- 1:29:51Speaker 8: place to trade a J Brown post June one and
- 1:29:53Speaker 8: should be official June two.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Who said that?
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: So this is Ricky Ricky scoops and then he and
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: then he deactivates immediately after doing that. But I there's
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: been some scuttle butt about this guy being semi legit. Yeah,
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: he's been wrong, right, Like it's not it's he's not
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: always right.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: Uh, but followers does he have?
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: Well, he he has. I mean this is like a
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: known thing, Like this is not a new phenomenon. I
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: think his first like big break was a couple of
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: years ago. I want to say, I can't remember what
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: the trade was, but he's had he's had some some
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: accurate ones.
- 1:30:29Speaker 8: The count is deactivated right now, but that's what the
- 1:30:31Speaker 8: profile picture is.
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I guess it's upset some of the people
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: on the deciunt that's just how he rolls, mind games,
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: just how he rolls. I think some of it is
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: that he doesn't want like the backlash when he's wrong.
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: You know, I don't know, but he's he doesn't. I
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: would say he got like probably like a twenty five
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: percent hit rate. But there's that, there's no that. There
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: are some hits like it's not like it's zero.
- 1:30:58Speaker 8: And he's broken stuff out of nowhere if I remember correct,
- 1:31:01Speaker 8: the stuff that no one expects to happen, and it's
- 1:31:03Speaker 8: kind of like those Blockbuster moves.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Well, we'll see Danny's and Daytona. Hey Danny, yeah, yeah, Hey,
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: how's it going guys?
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: Okay, so one, where is Paul? I didn't see Paul.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: Paul is that loser Paloosa?
- 1:31:24Speaker 6: Okay, all right? I was, I was. I was going
- 1:31:27Speaker 6: to give Paul a hard time today and also thank
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: him because Paul came in collected last week. Some crazy
- 1:31:32Speaker 6: caller came in saying uh that I was saying last week,
- 1:31:36Speaker 6: and Paul actually sided on my case. So I appreciate Paul.
- 1:31:39Speaker 6: Next time I see him, I'll thank him. Uh to
- 1:31:41Speaker 6: Eman to your point, I heard you talking to uh
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: to a regular caller, just not too I think it
- 1:31:48Speaker 6: was herm DC.
- 1:31:51Speaker 13: To.
- 1:31:52Speaker 6: You were talking about the number one receiver. I think
- 1:31:54Speaker 6: uh uh, it is kind of too hyped people. I
- 1:31:58Speaker 6: like number one receivers. Obviously everyone does. But as you
- 1:32:01Speaker 6: saw in the Super Bowl, Fred pointed out and I
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: meant to mention this about a month ago. Was I
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: mean Jackson and Smith and jig Bull was literally taken
- 1:32:09Speaker 6: out of the game. I mean you could argue and
- 1:32:11Speaker 6: make this point and say, well he had all these
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: drops or or the coverage was was kind of sticky
- 1:32:16Speaker 6: and hard, but I mean he was literally taken out
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: of the Super Bowl, like the every pass that.
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: Either who took him out of the Super Bowl Danny.
- 1:32:25Speaker 6: Gonzales.
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: Okay, so they had to put Gonzales on him. Right.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: How did how did Kenneth Walker do in the Super Bowl?
- 1:32:33Speaker 6: Well again, I mean, yeah, you brought your point. Yeah,
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: the run game, but I'm just saying.
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: How did aj Barner their tight end doing the Super Bowl?
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: I mean, he did do good, but I'm just saying
- 1:32:43Speaker 6: the number one receiver, yeah, it attracts attention, but again,
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: the day, it's not all the end, all be all.
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: You got to have that number one guy to the
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: other guy's call that just called in you. You could
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: have as long as you have look at the freaking
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: For example, the Bills have been a laughing stock for
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: receiver the last few years. But the only reason they
- 1:33:01Speaker 6: stay relevant. Everyone keeps talking about them every year is
- 1:33:04Speaker 6: because they have Alan. If Alan leaves the Bills, people
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: wouldn't even talk about the Bills. Alan is the Bills.
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: I'm telling you that's so. As long as we have
- 1:33:13Speaker 6: Drake May, I don't worry so much about the number
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: one receiver like everybody else does, because as long as
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: we can contribute, and especially with Josh's offense, you don't
- 1:33:21Speaker 6: need that guy. That's why Elliott came out and said
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: he really doesn't and Bertan was making fun of Elliott.
- 1:33:28Speaker 6: He's like, you don't really need that. Burtan was like,
- 1:33:31Speaker 6: we need a number one, and Elliot's like, I don't
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: really want number one. We just need to collect.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: We didn't really say that, he just said, you know,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: it's good to have talent every Yeah, yeah, you know
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: I just think, Danny, I think everybody in Buffalo right
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: now is thanks to every single mock draft for the
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: Bills I see has them taking a receiver because they
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: don't have a guy for Josh.
- 1:33:51Speaker 7: Yeah, unformed.
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: I think that you know that that's the number one
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: conversation around Buffalo right now is how do you get
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: more help offensively for Josh Allen Because there's too much
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: on Josh Allen right now? We like you can I
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: understand what people are saying. It's good to have multiple
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: mouths to feed, it's good to be able to spread
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: wealth around and all that kind of stuff. I just
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: I think when you look at the Bills, I think
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: they're a great example. Like there's too much on the quarterback,
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: and there's too much on their run game, and I
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: think that one push comes to shove. Those types of
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: teams that are very centric on one or two things,
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: they tend to have issues.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Sure, Hello everyone, Hello Marie Claire Claire. I tune in
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: late and Deuce is lamenting about Sadiq and talking about
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: how dominant Gronk was. How am I supposed to concentrate
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: on cooking dinner? But seriously, the tight end position has
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: to have some attention this year, right.
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: I would think so, I mean, I would really think so.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: It's just, you know, how do they see it all
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: and how do they see it all putting together? I
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: just see it as the easiest way to get a
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: playmaker on the field or you know, and even if
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: it is a second, third, fourth round kind of a
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: guy that you know, Aaron hear nandis was like a
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: fourth ron guy. And I mean, I know he had
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: other issues that pushed him down, but was one of
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: those kind of move tight ends we talked about. They
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: have all their wide receivers coming back. You know, he
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: swapped digs for Dobbs. So to me, this is a
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: spot where, yeah, Hunter Henry is still going to carry
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: the load, you know, the kid from Miami. Hell, he's
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: going to do some blocking and chip in. But can
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: we Julian Hill, But can we work in this young
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: athletic tight end. So like a guy like Sidik which
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: is probably a pipe dream, But now we have a
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: little bit of a move piece and somebody who's got
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: some athletic juice that coming into the season, nobody really
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: knows what to expect from him. And now Josh can
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: play with this and you probably would see a three
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: tight end set, you know, you'd see three tight ends,
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: a full back and a running back. He put that
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: kind of package on the field. So I just think
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: it's an opportunity to quickly get a playmaker on the field.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: I just wonder I think that the first one point
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: I would just make to that is, you know, tight
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: end is often one of the slower developing positions in
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: the NFL, so especially because in the passing game, because
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: they don't use them as much in the past game
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: in college. So getting a guy this year knowing Hunter
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: Henry's age in his contract situation, so that next year
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: if you do have to move on from Hunter Henry,
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: at that point that you're not left without you know,
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: a bare cupboard looking around. It's like, who's the next
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: guy there. It's always good to be a year ahead
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: of those types of things. But I also think that
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: in the draft it's interesting, like when that run of
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: tight ends is really going to start. Like Sadik's kind
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: of in his own tier in the first round. But
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: all these guys that were talking about like in Day two,
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: early day three, the Patriots, you know, are sitting there
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: at sixty three ninety five, like, when does that start
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: to move? When does that parade start to go by?
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: Because you know then you have guys like Stowers and
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: Max Claire and Trigg and delp and you know, go
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: on right down the line, Sam Rouch, Like at some
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: point there's going to be a run on tight ends,
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: and you don't want to You don't want that parade
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: to go by without jumping on at some point. So
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: if it might have, they might have to be aggressive
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: with it and seriously think about taking one at the
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: back of the second round because by the time it
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: snakes back to them at the end of the third round,
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: they might not be anybody left.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, just and you know, on a hunter Henry,
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: I mean sixty six catches last year, sixty catches this year,
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: so I mean two of his top three seasons. I mean,
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: he had sixty catches for the Chargers back in twenty twenty,
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: but otherwise two of his top three seasons have come.
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: But I just thought it was kind of a disappointing end,
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: and I thought, you know, is that a sign of
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: things to come?
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: He had some drops.
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: He just you know, it didn't look quite right. You
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: just want to be ahead of that one. Because the
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: point I was gonna make with Josh Allen two is
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: like what would happen to Brady if they didn't draft Gronk,
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: Like if you didn't.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: Have that number one version.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: I mean, but they've gotten and I know they won
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: one of them without him, but you know, I just
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: I think that's what Buffalo was searching for a dude,
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: and it could be a tight end.
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: But they've tried I mean, Dalton Kincaid Coleman, Like, it's
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: not like they haven't tried.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: No.
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: I just I also wonder, like a tight end, are
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: you drafting him as a compliment to Hunter Henry or
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: are you drafting him to replace Hunter Henry or are
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: you doing both? I guess, But like Hunter Henry is,
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: you know, at this stage of his career, is really
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: a pass catching tight end? I would say that is,
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: you know, moving the chains, So you're not he's not
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: a great blocker and he's not necessarily stretching the field, right,
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: So are you looking for more of a well rounded
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: blocking type of tight end that can catch passes? Are
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: you looking for a true explosive like receiving tight end
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: with high upside in the passing game? Obviously, if they
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: do bold, that's you know, Kenyan Sadek and those guys
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: go in the first round. So that's the tough part
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: is that once you get out of the first round
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: of the draft, they usually have a specialty. They're either
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: really good pass catchers or they're really good blockers, but
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: it's hard to find guys that are really good about.
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: Give me the pass catcher.
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: And I mean, I think, to your point of development,
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: blocking not something they're probably doing a lot of in college.
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: So maybe that's a part.
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: You get them stronger, you get them more used to blocking,
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: you develop behind him. I'm at the point now where
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: it's really hard to find that well balanced guy. So
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: let's just go get somebody who's got good size and
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: can move. And that's why I find, you know, sidek intriguing,
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: just and I know again it's probably gonna be hard
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: to get him here, but to plug him into this offense,
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: it's like boom, immediately, all of a sudden, you got
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: a bunch of options for Josh and for Drake.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: All right, well, I promise I would fill people in
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: on what my Pillow decision was. And you said, Alex Pillows.
- 1:39:18Speaker 7: Send me a yeah, I'm gonna pull it up.
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: Sure, who's the finalist? The winner? I think I.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: Slacked it just a moment, Okay, I'm sorry, I don't know.
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: I was gonna side Cube, Med Klein, Bapo, E P
- 1:39:38Speaker 8: A b O and Wolfshire, and I gave you one
- 1:39:43Speaker 8: called Avocado.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Avocado, yeah, and then side Cube. I think it's pillow
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: Cube actually, And then so I looked into all of these,
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: I really did. I did my research, and uh, you know,
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: I was gonna pull the trigger on pillow Cube. Parker
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: in Manhattan says, there's only one pillow side sleepers need
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: to buy. I've slept on this pillow for four years now.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: It's the only one I use. I even bring it
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: on long trips. Everyone in my family has switched to it.
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: And this may be too much information, but multiple hookups
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: who slept over have asked me about it. The next
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: morning ended up buying one. That's the pillow Cube. I
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: spent hundreds of dollars trying different pillows, and this is
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: the only one that felt perfect. They make three sizes
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: based on the space between your head and shoulders, so
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: you can get the right fing so he's telling me.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: So I did look into pillow Cube, and like I said,
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: I was going to pull the trigger, but they were
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: sold out with the size that I wanted.
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: They come in different sizes, the sizes you need.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: The heftier one. And also their website is a little
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: bit sketchy. It's like flashy things and all this stuff,
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: and you know, all the the price was right, They're
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: not that expensive. So but I passed on it. I
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: looked into the was it the Wolshare, Yeah, something about
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: wool and pillows. Like when I think of wool, I
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: think of warm, right, and I don't think of I
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: don't think of springy, you know, And so I passed
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: on Wolfshire. All of these, by the way, have great
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: reviews on the Internet. They all have great reviews. The
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: med Cline it's a whole contraption, Like for the side,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: there's like a hole you put your arm through and
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: all that's like, oh, and.
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: I've heard of the body thing.
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: I just want to go to bed. I don't want
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: to like fit myself into anything. So I passed on
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: the med Cline. Avocado. I looked at that.
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: I like a latex Pham pillow. They're nice and springy.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: And yeah, so I ended up going with Healthy Sleep.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: That's the one I went with. I haven't got it yet,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: so I can't tell you what it's like. And even
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: when I get it, I'm going to wait a month
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: before I give you a review, just to be fair
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: about it, you know, like Deuce says, I'll come in
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: a neck brace.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: You know, this pillow is great, not good.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: So I went with that. I went with that, and
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: we'll see what happened.
- 1:42:04Speaker 7: What drew you to that?
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: I well, that was one of the recommendations too, Okay, yeah, okay, yeah,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: so I but I looked at all of them, and
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: that's the one I settled on. Like I said, I
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: was going to get the pillow cube, but they were
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: sold out of it. What's it made of?
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: Baby?
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: Its foam? You know. Memory.
- 1:42:21Speaker 7: I don't like a memory. It just doesn't come up.
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: I don't like.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: We have a memory phone bed and I don't like it.
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: Yeah no, I don't think I'm not because my wife
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: likes you.
- 1:42:30Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: It just feels like I'm trapped. I can't get so
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: hard to like roll over. There's no spring sweet. You're
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: just kind of like in a dead spot.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: I don't care for it.
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: Maybe you know it's good.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: I mean, it's just not I find it.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: I rolled a lot.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: You know, ours is a coil, but then the top
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: has like a little layer, a.
- 1:42:48Speaker 8: Little bit of ability to tell you guys, latex foam.
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: But I don't know what the top layer exactly is,
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: but the top layer is soft like to kind of
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: give it a little bit of softness. But then the
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: bed itself is made from real coils.
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: That so it's got a pillow top.
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: Yeah exactly. But the problem with it is, though, is
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: that because of that, it's hard to get sheets because
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: like the like the sheets like don't regulars. Yeah, like
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: we have a queen size bed and it doesn't doesn't
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: fit Like.
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: Corner.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: You get the dog, you know, he likes to lay
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: on the bed and so then he Yeah, the sheets
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: are all over the place.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, it's unfortunately. So anyway, that's what I decided.
- 1:43:29Speaker 8: Did you get the advanced pillow sit in sleep or
- 1:43:32Speaker 8: the ultra tech low profile pillow.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: There's a cool one okay, cool pillows, got fun.
- 1:43:41Speaker 7: Healthy sleep, cool tech high profile pillar.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Okay yeah, high profile got it?
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: That one looks interesting.
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: That's the one I got.
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: Hey hey pillow.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: But like like that, the med climb was a whole
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: It was a whole system.
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: You put your arm through it so ugly on a bed.
- 1:44:03Speaker 7: That makes sense from an aesthetic purpose, Like your wife.
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: Was that looking at your bed?
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like to.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Be Apparently people are coming through all day to look
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: at our bed.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: I want to pillow that when you watch the TV.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: It's you know you need that too. It's gonna be
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: a normal pillow. I just want to go to sleep.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: Why I don't want to have to put my whole in.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: And then there was like a body wrap thing and it's.
- 1:44:30Speaker 7: Like no, no, I'm pregnancy pillow.
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: And the price was like two fifty for the whole.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Why is it so complicated?
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: I mean, we all spend what like a third of
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: our lives asleep, but like there's no like right, well,
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: you can't sleep that way.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: You're gonna jam your neck.
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: And if I sleep on my back, I'm gonna snore,
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: And like why is it so complicated?
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: Shouldn't there just be like a basic easy thing to
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: just sleep?
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: And I don't I sleep on my back. I feel
- 1:44:52Speaker 7: like I'm an outlier.
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: I'm a back sleeper. I can't sleep on my bed
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: just as I look like a mummy. Like sometimes it
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: like freaks her out, like she has to wait to
- 1:45:01Speaker 4: see it. Like like it's.
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: Funny, like if it's a weekend and I'm tired and
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: I lay down to take a nap, I can sleep
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: on my back. But at night, I cannot sleep on
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: my back.
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: Got to elevate a little so you don't snore.
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: Probably, I like to like hug the pillow on I'm
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: kind of side, but I'm kind of twisted, and you're
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: a pillow.
- 1:45:19Speaker 4: You're kind of kind of like you're kind of.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Get in my arm mind. I mean, maybe I should
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: look at your one with the armholes because.
- 1:45:24Speaker 8: Like you know, you, if I sleep on my side,
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: I like lose feeling in my arm in my hands.
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm so that's what That's my whole point.
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: It's like, why is it so hard to find a
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: correct sleeping position when this is something that we all
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: do and yet like don't sleep like that or have this.
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: I love to sleep so but no matter how it happened, why.
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: You still can't?
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: Parker says only one pillow was sold out. Memory foam sucks.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: This isn't memory foam right, The one I wanted was
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: sold out? Thank you?
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: So anyway, good convo.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Yeah, pillow talk, that's headline right there.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: Somebody somebody actually sent me a review of Speed Queen.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: He was a guy in an appliance store and it
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: was reviewing the speak and you know, saying that it
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: is the best. There's two different models right now that
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: basically you can get. So then I went down the
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: rabbit hole on YouTube on speak Queen reviews.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: What's up, guys, I'm here to tell you about these prices.
- 1:46:25Speaker 8: Walk don't run to get this seed Queen dryer and say.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: That I brought my speed Queen the one I have
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: now in twenty twenty. Since then, the price has skyrocketed
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: and it's I want a piece of that I speak.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it has nothing to do with COVID, and the
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: price is never going back down.
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: But like mine, when I bought mine, each you know,
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: the washing and driver, we're each in the three you know,
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: three digits seven eight hundred dollars. Now you don't have
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: to replace like fourteen fifteen hundred.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Well that's because you.
- 1:46:58Speaker 7: Got to put the station it every time by.
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: Buy ones cry once, yeah, yeah, twice.
- 1:47:05Speaker 4: I just feel a lot of things, obviously, the housing market,
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: the car market, like all these things like COVID happened,
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: and the price is skyrocket because it's supply chain issues
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: during COVID and then the company it never recovered. You
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: can never go down there go on right, So like now,
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: like cars are still used cars.
- 1:47:25Speaker 8: Like I bought my Toyota in nineteen it was a
- 1:47:27Speaker 8: year old. Three months later COVID hit and the dealership's
- 1:47:31Speaker 8: calling me to buy my car back from more than
- 1:47:33Speaker 8: I spent, And I'm like, that sounds great. But then
- 1:47:35Speaker 8: the problem is I can't afford a better car. What
- 1:47:38Speaker 8: am I going to do downgrade this car I just bought. No,
- 1:47:40Speaker 8: same thing with houses.
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a big boom on the used car
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: market because of the chips and the cars that they
- 1:47:46Speaker 4: use in the new cars. There's supply chain issues because
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: of COVID because they all come from overseas and so
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: that they like these dealerships are just trying to snatch
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: up used cars and get people out of older cars
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: and into newer cars, and that that was a big thing.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: But they these uh, like the least deals and all
- 1:48:03Speaker 4: this financing stuff is like never it never went back
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: to the way it was before, and I don't think
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: it ever will.
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: Yeah, COVID screwed up everything.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: Yeah, especially restaurants.
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: Yeah, house in restaurants.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: I don't know, a lot of restaurants very depressing now,
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: like yeah, I just yeah, yeah.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: I mean some of the local ones.
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: I love that like, you know, there's just there's a
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: tie food place and Sharon that we went to that
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: you know, it's family owned and you know, and everyone's
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: but sometimes they go to you know, if you randomly
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: get stuck into like not that I go there a lot,
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: but like a Chili's or apple Bee's, like one of
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: those kind of stuff. And I'm like everyone here is depressed,
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: like nobody.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: Wants to be.
- 1:48:38Speaker 8: And there's also so many restaurants that just rely on
- 1:48:41Speaker 8: like the Cisco's or the other big brand where they're
- 1:48:44Speaker 8: all getting the same food packaged a different way. Like
- 1:48:47Speaker 8: the local restaurants that are killing it execute well, they're
- 1:48:51Speaker 8: making their own actual food, like yeah, everything else just
- 1:48:55Speaker 8: like why are you.
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: Going to more like yeah, rather go pay more for
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: a great meal than feeling like I'm going to pay
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: still a lot.
- 1:49:01Speaker 7: But and the consumer is just so tapped out. That's
- 1:49:03Speaker 7: how they feel.
- 1:49:03Speaker 8: You're not going to go to a restaurant that has
- 1:49:05Speaker 8: the same food as every other restaurant.
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: My pepy.
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: If I can cook a better breakfast than a place
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: I get breakfasted annoys me so much.
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: We don't go out to breakfast much, but we do
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: have a I have a new favorite place in the
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: North End. I think because we've been going. We go
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: to the North End a lot. And it's a place
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: called Antico Ferno on Salem Street. Some of the best
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: I'm a big bolonnaise guy. Some of the best bolonnaise
- 1:49:27Speaker 4: I've ever had.
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: I got. I might have to check that out.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: It's really really good. It's right on Salem Street, walkable
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: to the bakeries after the three dessert Yeah, and very
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: very good place.
- 1:49:38Speaker 8: Let's check out the shirt from Tony and Elaine's Nice
- 1:49:41Speaker 8: football is a little bread.
- 1:49:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:49:45Speaker 7: Oh, we went to Capri. I told Evan the story.
- 1:49:47Speaker 4: We have a Rezie in a couple of weeks.
- 1:49:49Speaker 8: It was delicious and the manager I went with some
- 1:49:52Speaker 8: of the girls on the content team. The manager told
- 1:49:54Speaker 8: us when the O Line had their dinner there, they
- 1:49:56Speaker 8: have these roles that they're famous for their honey buns
- 1:49:58Speaker 8: and it comes in a a six come per order.
- 1:50:02Speaker 8: I guess the online got twenty four orders of spread
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: when they were there.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: But you know, you say that it's going out. Some
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: lot of the restaurants are sad.
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: I feel like the younger generation, like twenty five to
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: thirty five go out to eat more than ever.
- 1:50:19Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, really go out to clubs and drink anymore.
- 1:50:23Speaker 8: Like the club scene is dead now. It's like you
- 1:50:25Speaker 8: go out with your friends, you go out to a
- 1:50:26Speaker 8: nice dinner, and you just spent two hours because it's
- 1:50:29Speaker 8: the best.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: You just go out to have a nice dinner. Yeah,
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: I'm a home bylock.
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: When I was your age, like food was just you
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: gotta eat and then you go drink, you know, like
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: puts on a strummach so you don't boot.
- 1:50:42Speaker 7: People in general aren't drinking like they used to.
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: Alcohol rates are so down good now. Yeah, you have
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: like some wine or something with dinner.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: I think the younger people are more sophisticated now than
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: if they were conscious too.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: That's all before Loser Pelluza though, so those numbers might
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: be spiking a little bit after today.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: With Paul it's like, don't get.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: Me wrong, everybody a little bit over the weekend and
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: the Saint Patty's stuff.
- 1:51:07Speaker 7: It's still very much as coming.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: But I do agree. I think that a lot of
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: it is about health and like how bad drinking is
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: for you and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: Too much now there's.
- 1:51:20Speaker 4: A lot of calories and alcohol to you and.
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: And honestly, that's where I think social media actually is
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: a good thing because you have access to information, you know,
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: from people who reflect you, you know, age wise, and
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: like you trust them and you know, so there's a
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: lot of good information out there about nutrition and sleep
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: and all that stuff.
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: Unless it's a sponsored ad from an influencer was being
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: paid to tell you what.
- 1:51:47Speaker 4: The Unfortunately, like the camera eads first too, so like
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: all these a lot of these people are going to
- 1:51:52Speaker 4: these dinners to take pictures of the food and like
- 1:51:56Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff. But that I agree, I
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: think that's that now, that's like the thing to do
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: is Friday Saturday night where we going to dinner, have
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: some drinks at dinner, maybe go to a dessert place afterwards,
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: and then you're home to watch the fourth quarter of
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: the Celtics game.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: I love keating out specific because you know, in my
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: day you look for women in clubs. Now you look
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: for women on your phone, so you don't need to
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: go to the clubs.
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but also like in my like, we all of
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: us already have women, so yeah, we're all married, or.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: You do before you do.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: That's how you you met people as you went out
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: to bars, and now you're like scrolling.
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: Left right instead of.
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: Instead of being dependent on your soulmate, just happening to
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: be at this bar tonight.
- 1:52:42Speaker 7: Like your friends would set you up with people too.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: It's so different parties.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Old fashion. Yeah, I'm at a work relationship, you reported
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: to hr Well, she laughed. Luckily she was only thursdays.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: Luckily it worked out.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: But center away being says, I'm the one that recommended
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: healthy sleep, and we'll take all the credit or blame.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Oh there you go, all right, Yeah, yeah, I can't wait.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: I can't wait to get it.
- 1:53:09Speaker 7: Because like I to bring it in for us and
- 1:53:12Speaker 7: show us like that, take a picture.
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: I'm not going to bring my pillow in. I'll take
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: a picture.
- 1:53:16Speaker 7: How are we going to take?
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: You?
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: Break it in a little bit though, too right, Like.
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: These aren't like.
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: I've had my pillow way too long and I was
- 1:53:25Speaker 8: forced mine is like I'm finding.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Right to get it, you know. Oh I love it
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: a lot of crazy stuff, all right. We're getting to
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: the end here. Team leaders Bill and Lake Mary, Florida.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: The absence of a lot of guys who were leaders
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: last year will open the door for other guys who
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: may have wanted to be team leaders to step in
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: and fill those roles. Well, we'll see.
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you create a little bit of a
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: vacuum to some extent.
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: I think that's right.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: I mean, i'd say overall the general philosophy of pulling
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: back on some stuff that was successful this year that
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: to hopefully be more successful with younger guys and cheaper
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: guys and and all that.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: I mean, I like what, I really like what they've
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: done this offseason.
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: I think you get carried away with free agency and
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: you feel like you need to win free agency.
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: It's like did you fill your needs?
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: And I mean I think it's fair to ask did
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: they improve? And you hope that they did. It's still
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: maybe a little bit murky if they did, but that's
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: what the drafts for and they're still free.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: It was amazing how everything hit last year. Yeah, the
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: odds of that happening again probably against us.
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: But yeah, and the other part was good, like in
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: team health too, Like they were so healthy last year.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: You know they literally I mean they will campbell thing.
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: You know that that at the end was the big one.
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: But you know, are they going to have that that
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: luck again?
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: Are they going to need to rely on more of
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: their depth this year for prolonged periods.
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: You know, it's just I.
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: Think they just a position of what they did last
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: year to like increase the talent floor by signing like
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: nineteen guys or whatever it was, to this year where
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: I think that they're trying to fill out their depth
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: really through the draft, and it's going to be interesting
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: to see which way it goes because guys like you know,
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: Jack Gibbons, a Tonga like they those weren't full time starters,
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: but they were contributors that were solid depth when guys
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: got hurt and banged up. And now that's probably going
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: to be a younger player. You know, maybe it's somebody
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: on the team already, like a Josh Farmer or a Durden,
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: but it's going to be somebody that's a little bit
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: younger and not as you know, experienced as the guys
- 1:55:24Speaker 4: that they're filling in for.
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: You just said, I mean we had a caller rast
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: about Durden too. I mean, I'm excited to have him.
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: I still just think they need a big, fatty. They
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: need a three hundred and twenty to thirty pound guy,
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: you know, as as that rotational piece like I was looking.
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: I was watching some of the big fatties this morning.
- 1:55:39Speaker 4: Big Citrus meant Big Citrus, Dominice Orange. I mean, he's
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: like a third round pick. So it's probably a little
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: high for the big betress. But his name is his
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: nickname's Big Citrus, and he's he's a behemoth, you know,
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: Like that guy is just all power.
- 1:55:52Speaker 14: You know.
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: There's a couple of guys in like that fourth round range,
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: like the kid from Alabama that I think is like
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: a true nose tackle type and you will see. But yeah,
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: I think that does That's a that's a potential fourth
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: round type of thing. I think top one hundred is
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: a little high for that.
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: But peels off, well, he's Mike and Florida. There were
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: so many highlights in Forge and Fospor, especially the AC
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: Championship game in Denver. But my greatest takeaway is the
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: culture and legacy we've built. All the oldest stars we
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: have like Vince Wilfork that came back and reinforced things,
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: and the Patriots train keeps on rolling. Few, if any
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: teams have such rich history and outstanding production crews. Surely
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: we are the most blessed fans in the NFL. Hell yeah,
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: And then.
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: Michael Rundy, Autumn K Gordon Thompson.
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: Some amazing I would say too in regards to some
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: of the shooters, like some amazing shots in this thing,
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: Like I mean, just some beautiful artist that's, you know,
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: really cool to look at.
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: Ford in Savannah. To save you, guys a work meeting.
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: It's an angle of the desk that makes Fred look
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: like a hobbit. The people on the ends of the
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: desk are closer to the camera, kind of like a
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: fishing picture. So if you want everyone to look their
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: actual size, you need the desk to not have a
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: point but be a flat line.
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: I figured that, but I figured there'd be a way
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: to adjust for that, like maybe have the middle camera closer.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: I don't know, are you where are you going over there?
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: Well?
- 1:57:29Speaker 8: If you, because when you're like I have to sit
- 1:57:32Speaker 8: in that end spot and like the emailer callers put
- 1:57:36Speaker 8: it out, I look like an Amazonian woman and I'm.
- 1:57:38Speaker 7: Only five to five.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: Like all getting fixed tomorrow, all right, we.
- 1:57:45Speaker 7: Can ask pounds if you're sitting on that corner.
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: We're gonna have a big meeting led by Matt morel
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: and I figure this out so that I don't look
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: like a hobbit, although I don't. I don't care if
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: I look like a hobbit.
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: So well so because usually I do the player interviews
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: from that desk, and the player sits here.
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: So it's like I look hobbedy to gext to like
- 1:58:05Speaker 2: six five Morgan moses. Yeah, so we'll get it worked out.
- 1:58:08Speaker 7: What you can do about that?
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: All right, that's gonna be it for this edition of
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: Patriots Unfiltered. I'm gonna go home and get some sleep
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: on my new pillow. If it's come, I don't know.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: I haven't got update.
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: You didn't get rest shipping, No.
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: No, I get free shipping shipping. Yeah. Yeah, so what
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: you guys have big weekends playing anything?
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: I got like, kind of nothing. I'm in between kids
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: sports weekends. So I was like, what are we going?
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: I think we might go see Project Uh.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: I read the book.
- 1:58:38Speaker 4: The hype that really, I read the book.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: It's I think it'd be fun for family.
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: New Dunes coming out when December December, I thought this summer.
- 1:58:49Speaker 7: Same day as the New Avengers movie.
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: They're getting excited now though, all right, but I will
- 1:58:55Speaker 3: see all the trade out.
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: Did you guys see one Battle after another?
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: Yea great movie?
- 1:59:00Speaker 7: You about that for months?
- 1:59:01Speaker 20: Fred doing Three same day as a new Avengers movie.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: I'll be seeing doing Yeah.
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: I think everybody's seen three.
- 1:59:08Speaker 20: Avengers will be better.
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: All right, we'll see you next Tuesday.
- 1:59:13Speaker 24: Hey, this is Matist. Thanks for tuning into the show.
