- 0:00Speaker 1: Colin Fugg, what do we need to know today? AI
- 0:07Speaker 1: is moving so fast that the White House just created
- 0:11Speaker 1: an entire task force whose job is basically to figure
- 0:14Speaker 1: out what the government needs to be doing about it. Now,
- 0:17Speaker 1: it's called the Super Intelligence Force. I feel like there
- 0:22Speaker 1: needed to be some echo on that or something. But
- 0:25Speaker 1: over the next 120 days, their job is to take
- 0:27Speaker 1: a look at everything from keeping America ahead in AI
- 0:31Speaker 1: to what happens if increasingly powerful systems create problems involving humans. cybersecurity, jobs,
- 0:37Speaker 1: or national security. The super intelligence force is on it.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You know the task force. They're just going to go
- 0:42Speaker 2: to chat GPT and go, is everything okay? They're going
- 0:44Speaker 2: to phone it in through their chat.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I hope we're doing a little more than that. It
- 0:48Speaker 1: is the October Black Friday Wars, and they basically start today.
- 0:53Speaker 1: So if there is something expensive sitting in your cart
- 0:55Speaker 1: right now, maybe don't. hit buy just yet because basically
- 0:59Speaker 1: every major retail is about to start fighting for your
- 1:01Speaker 1: money so you've got walmart's october sale starts today amazon
- 1:04Speaker 1: big prime deals days i think start tomorrow and they
- 1:07Speaker 1: kind of already started and then the target circle deal
- 1:10Speaker 1: days start tomorrow and then amazon's even dropping new limited
- 1:13Speaker 1: time deals three times a day so.
- 1:15Speaker 2: If you wow it's like.
- 1:17Speaker 1: The prime days like now it's like black friday don't
- 1:19Speaker 1: wait till black friday you do it all right now
- 1:21Speaker 1: because this is like their bigger sales.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'm looking at getting a coffee maker because I'm new
- 1:25Speaker 2: to the coffee world. I want to get away from
- 1:27Speaker 2: the Keurigs and I want to do like an old
- 1:29Speaker 2: school coffee pot with no plastic in it. So I
- 1:32Speaker 2: found this one brand and guess what? All my Instagram
- 1:35Speaker 2: feed now is coffee pots, which is really weird. But
- 1:39Speaker 2: guess how much a coffee pot costs? Just a regular
- 1:41Speaker 2: old coffee pot filter. That's a hot coffee pot. No. Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 2: With no plastics. The only ones I can find are $ 495.
- 1:48Speaker 1: With no plastic. I think the old school ones, they
- 1:52Speaker 1: are plastic. They filter through the plastic thing.
- 1:54Speaker 2: $ 495 a minute. I wonder if you're looking at, like,
- 1:58Speaker 2: the fancy drip ones. Yeah, drip. That's what an old-fashioned is.
- 2:02Speaker 2: That's how you do it, yeah. Why don't you go
- 2:03Speaker 2: to Nellis Auction? I bet you they got one for, like, $ 60. Well,
- 2:05Speaker 2: you've got to make sure it's not plastic.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing. That's the thing. All the old-school ones,
- 2:11Speaker 1: they've got the plastic.
- 2:12Speaker 2: That's one of the things that I would.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Think would be really cheap.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Or if you don't mind, like, buying one that's already used, maybe, like,
- 2:18Speaker 2: Facebook Marketplace has one for cheap, like, half off of that.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah, perhaps.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Perhaps. This is pretty fascinating.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Researchers are finding that subtle changes in your voice could
- 2:27Speaker 1: eventually become another clue doctors use to spot who may
- 2:31Speaker 1: be at a greater risk for cognitive decline. So they
- 2:33Speaker 1: looked at all these records from a bunch of adults
- 2:35Speaker 1: over like over 50 and then found people diagnosed with
- 2:39Speaker 1: voice disorders were more likely to later develop cognitive impairment.
- 2:43Speaker 1: This doesn't mean that if your voice is getting hoarse,
- 2:46Speaker 1: suddenly it's a sign of dementia or anything like that,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but they are, they're going, Oh, this, This is an
- 2:51Speaker 1: interesting correlation that we're seeing that down the road could
- 2:54Speaker 1: actually help us predict this stuff sooner. Phoenix is becoming
- 2:58Speaker 1: such a huge deal in the computer chip world that
- 3:01Speaker 1: Taiwan just opened a new office right here. And their
- 3:04Speaker 1: foreign minister actually came to Arizona for the opening. A
- 3:08Speaker 1: huge reason is that, like, you know, all the semiconductor
- 3:11Speaker 1: investment that's happening here in the valley, which has basically
- 3:14Speaker 1: made Arizona a really important part of technology relationship between
- 3:18Speaker 1: the U.S. and Taiwan. So that's kind of a big deal.
- 3:22Speaker 1: If you opened up your mail over the last few
- 3:24Speaker 1: days and you were like, whoa, this is an early
- 3:27Speaker 1: mail-in ballot. You know they're not really supposed to be
- 3:30Speaker 1: out for a week or something like that. You're not
- 3:32Speaker 1: losing track.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Of the calendar.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Over 3,000 Maricopa County ballots accidentally went out six days early.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Oops.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Whoopsies. The good news is, is there are the correct ballots.
- 3:43Speaker 1: They're completely valid. So if you've got one, don't throw
- 3:45Speaker 1: it away. Don't do anything differently. You can just fill
- 3:48Speaker 1: it out at your leisure. Now you've just got a
- 3:50Speaker 1: little more time to decide, you know, which which things
- 3:53Speaker 1: you want to vote on. And that's what you need
- 3:54Speaker 1: to know.
