- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Inside the Charge.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Maddie Glav alongside running back Ray Davis. He's rocking the
- 0:17Speaker 1: YSL shades today.
- 0:19Speaker 2: We got cameras in here. It's a little bright.
- 0:20Speaker 1: It's a little bright. You know, you got the cool
- 0:23Speaker 1: guy look on today. You got the hat and... The
- 0:26Speaker 1: Khalil Shakir t-shirt.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Got to represent the boy.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Repping the teammate. How many shirts of teammates do you have?
- 0:32Speaker 3: I probably have like eight. I got a couple of
- 0:35Speaker 3: snow shirts. I got a tie shirt. Got a couple
- 0:37Speaker 3: of tie for his brand.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Vey.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I got a Josh Allen.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You got the Vey hat on, right?
- 0:42Speaker 2: I do got the Vey hat on.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Shout out.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Shout out tie. And then I got a couple of
- 0:46Speaker 2: Josh Allen shirts.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Do you have any Ray Davis shirts?
- 0:49Speaker 2: No.
- 0:49Speaker 3: No.
- 0:50Speaker 1: We don't have any Ray Davis shirts?
- 0:51Speaker 3: I low-key feel like it's weird to have my own apparel.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I feel like it's better to have other guys' stuff.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Dion wears his own apparel.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Well, he's Dion. I'm Ray Davis.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He's Dion. Come on. If we had some Ray Davis shirts,
- 1:03Speaker 1: everybody involved with Inside the Charge would rock them.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Okay. I'll hold everyone to it.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You have a fan base right here.
- 1:08Speaker 2: If I get everyone shirts, next time we record, we'll.
- 1:11Speaker 1: All wear them. Let's go. I promise I will wear it.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Anybody out there listening, I need some shirts.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. And people listening will wear it, too. Ray,
- 1:19Speaker 1: you had the first game at Highmark Stadium, week two
- 1:23Speaker 1: against the Lions, put up 41 points. The entire game,
- 1:28Speaker 1: the day felt like a movie. What is one memory
- 1:31Speaker 1: that you will carry with you from that game?
- 1:34Speaker 2: The traffic. That's when I knew how serious this was.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I figured the players were SOL.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Listen, if anybody police want to escort me next time,
- 1:45Speaker 3: please call me because it was a hassle but outside
- 1:48Speaker 3: of that it was electrifying like it was loud like
- 1:51Speaker 3: I swear on some third downs like you were like
- 1:55Speaker 3: you couldn't hear I would be talking to some of
- 1:57Speaker 3: the guys on the sideline you'll be like huh it's
- 1:59Speaker 3: because it was just yeah it was just so loud.
- 2:01Speaker 2: In there so it was definitely electrifying.
- 2:03Speaker 1: For sure did you try to come in any earlier
- 2:06Speaker 1: did you just go with your like same routine yeah
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'm coming in this many hours before the game this
- 2:12Speaker 1: is usually what it.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Is Yeah, no, I 100% thought I was going to
- 2:16Speaker 2: get in the regular routine.
- 2:17Speaker 1: No.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I was just like, ah, you know, first gate, people
- 2:20Speaker 3: are probably like tailgating. And then as I started driving
- 2:24Speaker 3: and I got around the corner where I always go.
- 2:26Speaker 2: And I was like, oh my God. I think I
- 2:30Speaker 2: sat in there for probably like 45 minutes.
- 2:31Speaker 1: 45 minutes?
- 2:32Speaker 3: And then I kind of had to go in the
- 2:35Speaker 3: left lane and.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Get to going.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Why not? I've done that before too.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Hey, in desperate times.
- 2:43Speaker 1: We got to work on game days. It's okay.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 2: You know, we got to get an escort next time.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I'll try.
- 2:48Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Well, maybe week three, show up a little bit earlier.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Or are you going to wait in traffic? You don't care.
- 2:54Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I'll be there early for sure.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'll be there early for sure. Your guy, James Cook,
- 3:00Speaker 1: went off for 300. It felt like 300. James Cook
- 3:04Speaker 1: rushed for 135 yards against the Lions. You have a
- 3:09Speaker 1: front row seat to how Cook operates because that's your teammate.
- 3:12Speaker 1: What's one thing that still surprises you with the way
- 3:15Speaker 1: he runs?
- 3:17Speaker 3: Oh, you know, I don't think nothing really surprises me. Like,
- 3:19Speaker 3: I get to see it every day. I see it
- 3:20Speaker 3: in practice. I get to see it in games. So
- 3:23Speaker 3: he just continues to be James Cook, and that's all
- 3:26Speaker 3: I could expect him to be is James Cook.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It's video game numbers.
- 3:30Speaker 1: What does he do so well?
- 3:32Speaker 2: He's just a smooth criminal. Just a smooth operator and
- 3:36Speaker 2: a smooth criminal, for sure.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He now has the fifth most rushing yards in franchise
- 3:41Speaker 1: history at just over 4,400 rushing yards. Still younger in
- 3:49Speaker 1: his career. I'm excited to see what Cook can do
- 3:52Speaker 1: when you look back at his entire career as a
- 3:54Speaker 1: Buffalo Bill. But when you look at his IQ, what
- 3:58Speaker 1: does he do well as it relates to understanding the game?
- 4:02Speaker 3: I think he just kind of, he lets the game
- 4:04Speaker 3: come to him. And when you watch him, it's like, it's,
- 4:10Speaker 3: it's like, it's poetry in motion in a way, right?
- 4:12Speaker 3: Like you never feel like he's pressing on the gas
- 4:14Speaker 3: or he has to overdo it when you're watching him.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It's like, he's just in flow state and he's just
- 4:20Speaker 3: playing football. And it's, it's like, you, no one's going
- 4:23Speaker 3: to stop his trajectory of like how he moves and
- 4:25Speaker 3: how his engine moves. Right.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Like there's no start and stop with James. It's like,
- 4:29Speaker 2: he's smooth all the way through and everything he.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Does is just so normal to us. Like it's, I
- 4:35Speaker 3: guess I get front row seat. So I get to
- 4:36Speaker 3: see it all. And it's been, been exciting so far.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It was exciting last year and hopefully it continues. The
- 4:42Speaker 3: way it's going now is going to be pretty exciting
- 4:43Speaker 3: this season.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, 135 rushing touchdown. Smooth criminal. I like the way
- 4:48Speaker 1: you explain that because that's what it looks like when
- 4:50Speaker 1: Cook hits the field. It just looks like he was
- 4:53Speaker 1: meant to do this. He was put on this earth
- 4:55Speaker 1: to run through defenses and do a good job at it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Cook can't do it alone though. You have to have
- 5:01Speaker 1: the offensive line. You have to have some blockers to
- 5:04Speaker 1: open up those rushing lanes. Through two weeks... Who on
- 5:08Speaker 1: the offensive line deserves an award for their blocking?
- 5:11Speaker 3: I'm a guy that's never going to single one particular
- 5:14Speaker 3: guy out. If I am going to single a guy out,
- 5:17Speaker 3: it has to go to Meyer.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It has to go to the coach.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I think Coach Pat, what he's been doing, coming in
- 5:25Speaker 3: and just letting those guys play their style of football,
- 5:28Speaker 3: the way they're all communicating on a high level. Realistically,
- 5:32Speaker 3: you've got a very similar O-line with just an exchange
- 5:35Speaker 3: with dave to alec right but alec has took a
- 5:38Speaker 3: lot of those reps last season coming in a tackle
- 5:42Speaker 3: one game guard center he's he's a swiss army knife
- 5:45Speaker 3: right so when you just plug a person like that
- 5:47Speaker 3: in who's already with a great old line like the
- 5:49Speaker 3: guys are it just makes it it makes it effortless
- 5:53Speaker 3: in a way of like okay let's over communicate we
- 5:55Speaker 3: know what we're doing but let's over communicate so then
- 5:58Speaker 3: we don't have to worry about the little things that's
- 6:00Speaker 3: going i think that's kind of what meyer's been really
- 6:01Speaker 3: pushing them is communicate communicate talk to each other what
- 6:04Speaker 3: are you seeing You know, you see D-Doc talking to
- 6:07Speaker 3: Alec at times.
- 6:07Speaker 2: They're communicating. So I think that's just something that's been
- 6:11Speaker 2: pretty well for them so far.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I know a lot of the offensive line was, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 1: bummed to see Aaron Cromer retire because they love the
- 6:18Speaker 1: technique that Cromer coached with. But you bring in an
- 6:21Speaker 1: offensive line coach named Pat Meyer who comes from the
- 6:24Speaker 1: Cromer tree and you get a lot of the same
- 6:27Speaker 1: coaching style, coaching tactics. And I know the offensive line
- 6:30Speaker 1: has loved getting to learn from him so far. What
- 6:33Speaker 1: have you learned about Meyer in his short time here
- 6:36Speaker 1: in Buffalo?
- 6:36Speaker 2: He has a lot of knowledge. I mean, he's coached
- 6:39Speaker 2: a lot of ball.
- 6:39Speaker 3: He's been around some really good running backs and, you know,
- 6:42Speaker 3: recently coming from Pittsburgh. So he was with some good
- 6:44Speaker 3: guys up there too. But I think just learning the
- 6:46Speaker 3: game and seeing how he envisions himself being out there
- 6:51Speaker 3: and things of that nature.
- 6:52Speaker 2: But he's also a smooth criminal.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Like he's quiet at times, but he'll crack a couple jokes.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I like that. I like that. Ray, we had a
- 7:00Speaker 1: nice long weekend because you guys got the big dub
- 7:03Speaker 1: on Thursday, so that means you had the weekend to
- 7:05Speaker 1: chill and a nice couple of days before you get
- 7:10Speaker 1: back to practice for week three. So what did you
- 7:12Speaker 1: do this past weekend and Tuesday off day as well?
- 7:16Speaker 3: You know, I got a chance to go see A
- 7:18Speaker 3: Boogie with the Hoodie, if anybody's familiar with A Boogie.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Got to relive my 2016 life. Got to listen to
- 7:24Speaker 3: A Boogie. My family was in town, so I took
- 7:27Speaker 3: them there. Family friends were in town, too. Just had
- 7:29Speaker 3: a good little night out. Enjoyed it with some of
- 7:31Speaker 3: the guys. Max and them was there, too, so it
- 7:33Speaker 3: was pretty fun. Other days, I just chilled. I actually
- 7:36Speaker 3: just drove back from Albany, seeing the Capitol. It was
- 7:39Speaker 3: on the bucket list, so I was like, you know what?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Let's go knock it out. And now I'm back in Buffalo.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Okay. What were your impressions of visiting the Capitol?
- 7:47Speaker 2: Eh, you know, it's the Capitol.
- 7:49Speaker 1: What did you do, Ray?
- 7:51Speaker 3: You know, walked around, sightseeing, read some history, looked up
- 7:56Speaker 3: some things, learned a little bit about Albany.
- 7:58Speaker 2: But it was more like, hey, I've been up to
- 8:01Speaker 2: Toronto plenty of times. Let's just go a different direction.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's amazing. I love that. Ray's travels. Where will Ray
- 8:11Speaker 1: go next? That's not Toronto.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That's not Toronto, thankfully. Somewhere else.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Was there one thing that you learned that you looked
- 8:19Speaker 1: up that you're like, I didn't know this and this
- 8:21Speaker 1: is actually interesting. All right.
- 8:24Speaker 3: So I have to redeem myself. My rookie year, they
- 8:26Speaker 3: had asked, what is the capital of New York?
- 8:29Speaker 2: And I swear to God, I.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Said, what'd you say?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Like New York city.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And everyone's like, wrong so that's something I learned is
- 8:40Speaker 3: you know where the capital is and what's the capital
- 8:42Speaker 3: of New York so.
- 8:43Speaker 1: It's Albany and Ray has been there.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I've been there and now no one can ever ask
- 8:47Speaker 3: me that question again because I don't know what it is.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I love it okay Ray we have some awards to
- 8:51Speaker 1: hand out you have some awards to hand out who
- 8:54Speaker 1: earns Ray Day's big plays Ray.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Day's big plays you know as I was going back
- 9:00Speaker 3: and looking at the game.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And I felt this one hit by an individual.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Like the whole crowd felt it right And I got
- 9:09Speaker 3: to give it to our captain, Sam Franklin.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 3: If you saw him in the kickoff, he's screaming. I
- 9:15Speaker 3: think he was at the R. He might have been
- 9:17Speaker 3: at the R3, R4. Came screaming, bent the corner. Whole
- 9:23Speaker 3: stadium heard that thing.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Smack.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Smack. Got to get it going right there. So that's
- 9:29Speaker 2: my first Ray Day big play.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Second play, Ray Day's big play, is Deion Walker. Deion
- 9:36Speaker 3: Walker is... I don't know if anyone sees it, but, again,
- 9:39Speaker 3: I see it. DC sets a stunt for Deion. Deion
- 9:42Speaker 3: wraps all the way around.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Long arms.
- 9:44Speaker 3: It's a picture, I think, of Jared Goff trying to
- 9:46Speaker 3: throw over him. Man, disrupts the play. And not only that,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I think he did it three straight times. So, you know,
- 9:54Speaker 3: I got to give him number two. And got to
- 9:58Speaker 3: give it to my dog. And he's getting an award later, too, so,
- 10:01Speaker 3: you know, I can't do too much. But Michael Hoyt,
- 10:04Speaker 3: I think he got a sack.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yep.
- 10:05Speaker 3: First sack coming back. So that's my third big play.
- 10:09Speaker 3: It was pretty cool to see that, too, to see
- 10:11Speaker 3: what he came back from and get it going from there.
- 10:13Speaker 1: What do you love most about your teammate Sam Franklin Jr.? Because...
- 10:18Speaker 1: He is something else on the field.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Most people may not know this, which people should. I
- 10:25Speaker 3: actually went to Temple. I went to Temple. And me
- 10:28Speaker 3: and Sam were teammates. I was a teammate my true
- 10:32Speaker 3: freshman year. I think Sam might have been in his
- 10:34Speaker 3: junior or senior year. So I've known Sam for a long,
- 10:36Speaker 3: long time. And how he plays now is how he
- 10:39Speaker 3: was in college. Sam has not changed as a player.
- 10:43Speaker 2: He's aggressive. He's ruthless.
- 10:45Speaker 3: He's going to give you everything he got, and he will–
- 10:48Speaker 3: dial and i feel for his teammates so to see
- 10:50Speaker 3: that now many years later to be his teammate be
- 10:53Speaker 3: somebody who he's leading on special teams to be able
- 10:57Speaker 3: to watch and see how he does it every day
- 10:58Speaker 3: has been has been tremendous to see and it's nostalgic
- 11:01Speaker 3: in a way because he was doing it years ago.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Too Sam also has a really cool story just with
- 11:06Speaker 1: how hard he had to work to get into the league.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I know at one point he had to pay for
- 11:11Speaker 1: his schooling. Maybe it was when he was in prep school,
- 11:14Speaker 1: didn't have a pro day, didn't have the combine because
- 11:18Speaker 1: he came out during COVID, was undrafted and, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: walked on. So he's just got a bunch of doors
- 11:27Speaker 1: that were shut in front of him along the way.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And he has found a way to open every single
- 11:32Speaker 1: one of those doors.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I mean, For someone who's been in the same shoes
- 11:36Speaker 3: as him, I know what that feels like. You have
- 11:38Speaker 3: that mindset of it's me versus the world and me
- 11:41Speaker 3: versus everybody. And everything that you do, now you have
- 11:44Speaker 3: to really lock in because you want to achieve something
- 11:48Speaker 3: that most people feel like you can't achieve. And when
- 11:50Speaker 3: you try, the doors have been slammed in front of you.
- 11:53Speaker 3: So I have a lot of respect for Sam. We
- 11:55Speaker 3: come from a very similar background. He did the prep
- 11:58Speaker 3: school thing. I did the prep school thing. And just, again,
- 12:01Speaker 3: understanding that. You have a different mentality and a different
- 12:05Speaker 3: dog inside you because you've seen the dark days, and
- 12:09Speaker 3: now the light is starting to come, and now you're
- 12:11Speaker 3: experiencing what the light looks like.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It's like you still want to work hard as if
- 12:15Speaker 2: you're still in those dark days.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Love Sam Franklin. Love the energy that he brings to
- 12:20Speaker 1: this team, especially on special teams. Great Ray Days Big
- 12:24Speaker 1: Plays Awards. I think you hit all three, and now
- 12:28Speaker 1: it is time. For Super Rain.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I'm flying through, flying through. I am taking off my cape.
- 12:35Speaker 3: And I'm giving my cape to someone who deserves the
- 12:37Speaker 3: cape of the day.
- 12:39Speaker 2: And that is, drumroll please, Michael Hoyt. And why I
- 12:44Speaker 2: say Hoyt is because he gets his first sack.
- 12:47Speaker 3: We've seen Hoyt go down during a very, very pivotal
- 12:50Speaker 3: game for us last year against the Chiefs.
- 12:52Speaker 2: He was balling.
- 12:53Speaker 3: He was a monster on our defense playing that spinner position,
- 12:57Speaker 3: moving around and doing different things for us. gets hurt,
- 13:01Speaker 3: doesn't leave the game, as many people see, and has
- 13:03Speaker 3: mic'd up. He sat there and cheered the boys.
- 13:07Speaker 2: On the entire time.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And to see that sack in the stadium, new Hallmark Stadium,
- 13:14Speaker 3: Highmark Stadium, and that's a moment that he gets to
- 13:17Speaker 3: have Canadian and National Anthem, first game back, gets a sack,
- 13:22Speaker 3: get the W.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Hey, I'm so, so proud of you.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I know it's coming from a guy who's who's still
- 13:28Speaker 3: kind of a rookie in a way, and you're a vet,
- 13:30Speaker 3: but I'm so proud of you and everything that you did,
- 13:32Speaker 3: the hard work that you put in. I've seen it
- 13:33Speaker 3: during the summer, and to see that sack happen, much love,
- 13:38Speaker 3: my guy.
- 13:38Speaker 2: So congratulations. You are Super Ray of the Day.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Nice. Cape of the Day going to Michael Hoyt. Hoyt
- 13:45Speaker 1: is somebody, when the Bills announced, okay, we're going from
- 13:47Speaker 1: 4-3 to a 3-4 defense, he's one of the first
- 13:50Speaker 1: players I immediately thought of and thought, Hoyt is going
- 13:53Speaker 1: to have a field day in this defense with defense
- 13:56Speaker 1: the way that they can move him around because he
- 13:58Speaker 1: was already doing it last year.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, 100%. He's athletic, right? You could drop him
- 14:02Speaker 3: in coverage. You could rush him.
- 14:04Speaker 2: He has both abilities to do anything that you need
- 14:07Speaker 2: him to do. He's versatile, right?
- 14:08Speaker 3: But when you got him and Greg doing the same thing,
- 14:11Speaker 3: it's like you got to wipe off the glasses and go,
- 14:14Speaker 3: are those DBs out there?
- 14:15Speaker 2: Like, what do they look like? But, yeah, Hoy definitely
- 14:18Speaker 2: has been pretty good in this defense so far.
- 14:21Speaker 1: All right, we're going to take a break. Interview segment
- 14:23Speaker 1: is coming up next. But Ray and I will be
- 14:25Speaker 1: back to discuss some of the best fits from week
- 14:28Speaker 1: two and look ahead to week three. Stay with us. Cole,
- 14:32Speaker 1: thanks for taking the time to be on Inside the Charge.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Appreciate you being here today.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Thank you for having me. Happy to be here.
- 14:38Speaker 1: You are in your third NFL season. What's the biggest
- 14:41Speaker 1: difference from a year one Cole Bishop to a year
- 14:44Speaker 1: three Cole Bishop?
- 14:45Speaker 4: It's a good question. I would say probably just the
- 14:47Speaker 4: experiences I've had. Obviously, new coaching and everything. So been
- 14:52Speaker 4: in a couple of different defenses. I feel like I
- 14:54Speaker 4: know a lot more football. Off the field, I feel
- 14:57Speaker 4: like I've grown in, you know, my leadership role to
- 14:59Speaker 4: an extent. Just trying to do things the right way.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Not that I wasn't doing them before, but just, you know,
- 15:04Speaker 4: continuing to try to keep that standard that we had
- 15:05Speaker 4: from before with, you know, guys like Taryn, Micah, and Jordan.
- 15:08Speaker 4: So just trying to keep what they built and keep
- 15:11Speaker 4: focusing on that.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Off the field, growing in your leadership skills, what area
- 15:15Speaker 1: in your leadership has grown most?
- 15:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not a super vocal guy, so that could
- 15:20Speaker 4: definitely grow more.
- 15:21Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 15:22Speaker 4: But just leading by my work ethic on the field,
- 15:25Speaker 4: off the field, just trying to do things.
- 15:26Speaker 2: The right way.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Joe Brady said in the beginning of the season that
- 15:30Speaker 1: Cole Bishop is as confident as it gets right now.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Where are you most confident in your game?
- 15:36Speaker 4: I feel good all over. I feel like, obviously, there's
- 15:38Speaker 4: plays going back over the past couple weeks, but going
- 15:40Speaker 4: into the season, I felt really good in coverage and
- 15:43Speaker 4: my run fits, tackling, just feel good.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Feeling good out there. You are a hard hitter with
- 15:48Speaker 1: a quick trigger. Is there one aspect of your game
- 15:50Speaker 1: that's coming easily right now?
- 15:52Speaker 4: That's a good question. I feel like my processing on
- 15:56Speaker 4: the field has picked up a lot this year. Obviously,
- 16:00Speaker 4: it's still hard, but I feel like the game slowed
- 16:02Speaker 4: down a little bit compared to the first two years,
- 16:04Speaker 4: so I feel like I'm seeing things pretty clear.
- 16:06Speaker 1: When you're seeing things clearly, what does that look like
- 16:09Speaker 1: on the field?
- 16:10Speaker 4: Yeah, just being in the right spot at the right time,
- 16:12Speaker 4: trying to not, you know, do more than your job,
- 16:15Speaker 4: but when the play comes to you at your job,
- 16:17Speaker 4: make it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: You have a new defensive coordinator in Jim Leonard. He
- 16:21Speaker 1: spent 10 years in the NFL as an undrafted safety.
- 16:25Speaker 1: What area of the game does his expertise show up most?
- 16:29Speaker 4: I feel like the way he's calling the game, he's
- 16:32Speaker 4: kind of adaptable, you know, like I think he, I
- 16:37Speaker 4: saw something he was talking about being on the sideline,
- 16:39Speaker 4: being able to kind of feel the vibe of the
- 16:41Speaker 4: what we need and everything which I like I think
- 16:43Speaker 4: being on the sidelines helpful for him um but I
- 16:48Speaker 4: mean there's only so much you can do on defense
- 16:52Speaker 4: and I feel like we do a good job of
- 16:53Speaker 4: being aggressive at times while also being.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Smart you said Jim Leonard is on the sideline during
- 16:57Speaker 1: the game what's the communication difference of seeing your defensive
- 17:00Speaker 1: coordinator in front of you in game and walking through
- 17:03Speaker 1: things versus being upstairs yeah it's not.
- 17:06Speaker 4: As much as you would think okay um For the
- 17:08Speaker 4: most part, it's still your position coach getting that whatever
- 17:11Speaker 4: information Jim wants to get to us through them. True.
- 17:13Speaker 4: He can't go to every group after each series and,
- 17:16Speaker 4: you know, go over the things. But I think on some, like,
- 17:19Speaker 4: crucial points, he'll be in there letting you know what
- 17:21Speaker 4: he's thinking.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Have you seen any of his NFL tape from his
- 17:24Speaker 1: playing days?
- 17:25Speaker 4: We've gotten to see some highlights. We've gotten to see
- 17:27Speaker 4: some highlights.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Okay. Has there been anything that stood out that you're like, dang,
- 17:31Speaker 1: this guy was a really good safety player?
- 17:33Speaker 4: Yeah, his physicality in some of the clips we saw,
- 17:36Speaker 4: he was definitely a physical player, which is something that
- 17:38Speaker 4: I always try to strive for. So that's definitely cool
- 17:40Speaker 4: to see.
- 17:40Speaker 1: When Jim Leonard spoke about what he wants from Buffalo
- 17:43Speaker 1: Safety Group, he said, I was a Swiss Army knife
- 17:46Speaker 1: when I played. I want that out of my players.
- 17:48Speaker 1: How are you being a Swiss Army knife right now?
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, if you're watching the games, I feel
- 17:52Speaker 4: like I'm doing a lot of different things from first,
- 17:55Speaker 4: second to third down, you know, being deep sometimes down.
- 17:59Speaker 4: on third down playing some of that dime roll sometimes
- 18:01Speaker 4: and just kind of mixing it up. I feel like
- 18:02Speaker 4: I'm kind of able to play all over.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Why do you enjoy roaming the field throughout a game?
- 18:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it puts the offense in a tough
- 18:09Speaker 4: spot on what we're doing. If I'm showing one thing
- 18:14Speaker 4: when I'm down and then the next time it's something else,
- 18:16Speaker 4: I think it's a lot harder for them to predict
- 18:17Speaker 4: what we're going to be doing.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You have had interceptions last year. You had three interceptions,
- 18:22Speaker 1: two sacks. When it comes to being an effective playmaker
- 18:27Speaker 1: out there, Is there one thing within a game where
- 18:29Speaker 1: it's a sack or interception that you're like, this makes
- 18:32Speaker 1: me feel good? I get pumped up when I do
- 18:35Speaker 1: this on the field.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Any of those. Interception by far is the most, but
- 18:39Speaker 4: a sack, interception, fumble, any takeaway or explosive play is huge.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Do you feel like this defense is going to be
- 18:47Speaker 1: bound for plenty of takeaways this season?
- 18:50Speaker 4: I think the D-line has been doing great, and we
- 18:51Speaker 4: just got to start taking the ball away.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of that defensive line, Greg Russo and Deion
- 18:56Speaker 1: Walker have been playing out of their minds. What's been
- 18:59Speaker 1: the biggest difference in their game this season?
- 19:02Speaker 4: I don't know if I, even if there's like a
- 19:03Speaker 4: biggest difference, I mean, just the amount of pressure they're getting.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I mean, it's awesome seeing, a lot of times I've
- 19:10Speaker 4: been pretty close to the line of scrimmage on the
- 19:11Speaker 4: third down, so I'm able to see that. Like by
- 19:12Speaker 4: the time I get to my man, they're already, getting
- 19:14Speaker 4: pressure on the quarterback and making him scramble, or they
- 19:16Speaker 4: already got him to the ground, which is huge for us.
- 19:18Speaker 1: You've watched two games back now. You've had two games.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Has there been one play where you've watched back when
- 19:25Speaker 1: the defense has been on the field that you've said
- 19:27Speaker 1: to yourself, how can this player do that? That's crazy.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Yeah, more than one, for sure. I mean, Greg and
- 19:35Speaker 4: Dion are freaks of nature. They're both huge, obviously, in
- 19:38Speaker 4: their own way, but I mean, they make so many
- 19:41Speaker 4: good plays.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been so fun. Dan Walker's so fast.
- 19:44Speaker 2: For his size it's crazy very impressive.
- 19:46Speaker 1: It is crazy uh switching from a 3-4 or 4-3
- 19:49Speaker 1: defense I should say to a 3-4 defense what changes
- 19:53Speaker 1: for a safety when you make that.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Switch yeah I feel like not as much as some
- 19:56Speaker 4: of the other positions um we have different things that
- 20:01Speaker 4: have changed in the defense for us but the actual
- 20:04Speaker 4: front I feel like our run fits are a adjustment
- 20:09Speaker 4: for the front guys.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Another new adjustment this year is playing next to safety C.J. Garner-Johnson. C.J.
- 20:16Speaker 1: has a huge personality on and off the field. Cole Bishop,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you give more chill vibes. Why does having two different
- 20:23Speaker 1: personalities work for you two?
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's good. I think we both know
- 20:28Speaker 4: what we need ourselves on game day and in practice
- 20:32Speaker 4: and everything, and I think we're both able to bring
- 20:35Speaker 4: that different approach us having different, you know, kind of
- 20:38Speaker 4: being opposites to an extent is good because I think
- 20:41Speaker 4: it just, you're able to have a little bit of both.
- 20:44Speaker 1: How does CJ see the game differently than you do?
- 20:48Speaker 4: Um, it's a good question. I feel like you kind of,
- 20:52Speaker 4: you learn a lot through the coaches you've had, I think,
- 20:55Speaker 4: and you know, their terminology and everything. So we obviously
- 20:58Speaker 4: have different terminology on some things and we're still working on,
- 21:00Speaker 4: you know, everybody speaking that same language, but I think
- 21:04Speaker 4: he sees it similar to me on trying to go
- 21:06Speaker 4: after the ball, trying to be physical, and just trying
- 21:08Speaker 4: to be in the right spot.
- 21:10Speaker 1: What is the biggest thing you've learned from CJ?
- 21:12Speaker 4: I feel like one thing I admire about him is
- 21:14Speaker 4: his confidence. I think he believes in himself, has unwavering
- 21:20Speaker 4: belief in himself, and I think that's something that I
- 21:21Speaker 4: could try to take from him.
- 21:23Speaker 1: On the field and off the field, that unwavering belief,
- 21:27Speaker 1: where does it show up most?
- 21:28Speaker 4: That's a good question. I feel like I mean, I'd
- 21:32Speaker 4: want to say on the field, I guess, because he's
- 21:35Speaker 4: confident out there, he's making plays, so I'd probably say
- 21:37Speaker 4: on the field.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Just having that confidence in your position group and on
- 21:41Speaker 1: the defense, what can that do for an entire unit?
- 21:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I think when you trust the guy next to you,
- 21:45Speaker 4: it allows you to free up more, play more free,
- 21:47Speaker 4: and I think obviously we're still working on it, but
- 21:49Speaker 4: I think we're making good progress.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Like you said, you guys are still working on that
- 21:53Speaker 1: chemistry and communication on the field. In a perfect world,
- 21:56Speaker 1: what does that look like when two safeties are playing
- 21:58Speaker 1: off of each other?
- 21:59Speaker 4: Yeah, just being on the same page, almost not even
- 22:01Speaker 4: having to communicate with each other you know there's times
- 22:05Speaker 4: um when i got more comfortable or after i played
- 22:07Speaker 4: with somebody you know in the past couple years for
- 22:09Speaker 4: more times like you can almost you don't even have
- 22:11Speaker 4: to look at one another at times just kind of
- 22:13Speaker 4: sense in what he's doing you already know what he's
- 22:14Speaker 4: going to do versus a certain look and i think
- 22:16Speaker 4: just you know continue.
- 22:17Speaker 1: And build on to that you wore a shirt for
- 22:20Speaker 1: the home opener that said frugal kitchens and cabinets how
- 22:26Speaker 1: are you connected to a kitchens and cabinets company.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Yeah so that's my dad's company my uh I was
- 22:32Speaker 4: born in Boston, and then we moved to Georgia when
- 22:33Speaker 4: I was two. He did a couple other things there
- 22:36Speaker 4: whenever we first got there, but he ended up opening
- 22:38Speaker 4: a kitchen and cabinet company, and he's been doing that
- 22:40Speaker 4: for as long as I can remember. So, yeah, it's
- 22:42Speaker 4: kind of within our family.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I love that. Was that a, I got to wear
- 22:46Speaker 1: this for the home opener?
- 22:47Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 22:48Speaker 1: How do Cool Bishops fits come together for games?
- 22:50Speaker 4: They're pretty last minute, to be honest. Morning of, see
- 22:55Speaker 4: what I got out, see what clothes are ready. I
- 22:58Speaker 4: saw the shirt and, you know, had to represent. And
- 23:01Speaker 4: I sent them a picture on the way over to
- 23:03Speaker 4: the game, and they were excited. They liked it.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I love that.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's some good advertising for sure.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Shout out for Kitchens and Cabinets.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Hey, if you guys need Kitchens and Cabinets done, you
- 23:13Speaker 1: know where to go.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Yep.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Down to Georgia. Yep. What do you do for fun, Cole?
- 23:18Speaker 4: In the off season, I like to play golf, hang
- 23:20Speaker 4: out with my friends. Me and my friends from high
- 23:22Speaker 4: school are pretty close. We all grew up together, so
- 23:24Speaker 4: I go back home a lot. Right now, I like
- 23:26Speaker 4: to play video games. Yeah, really just game, play golf.
- 23:29Speaker 1: What video games are you into right now?
- 23:32Speaker 4: Right now I'm playing some 2K, some basketball. A new
- 23:35Speaker 4: one just came out, so still working through that.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Nice.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Still working on that, but yeah, mostly basketball.
- 23:40Speaker 1: And golf game, what was working for you this summer?
- 23:44Speaker 4: Nothing really. Nothing was really working.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Oh.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I ended up joining the club here, so tried
- 23:49Speaker 4: to play a lot. Had some health stuff, so didn't
- 23:52Speaker 4: get to play a ton. True. Next year is my year.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Next year is your year. What comes easy? I don't
- 23:57Speaker 1: know if I want to say easy. What is natural
- 24:00Speaker 1: for you in the game of golf?
- 24:01Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 24:02Speaker 4: I'm bad.
- 24:03Speaker 1: You're an athlete.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Stop.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You're an NFL player, Cole.
- 24:05Speaker 4: I thought the same. haven't been making much progress.
- 24:08Speaker 1: For you uh you got power in your.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Swing yeah but you know that's on and off too
- 24:12Speaker 4: so we got a lot of work to do.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Okay we got a lot of work to do so
- 24:16Speaker 1: this is the off season that you're gonna become a
- 24:19Speaker 1: great golfer just take.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Some football and football and football football first yeah football.
- 24:23Speaker 1: First yeah off season just take some lessons from josh
- 24:26Speaker 1: allen yep i think he's got it figured out okay
- 24:29Speaker 1: let's finish up with some rapid fire questions how do
- 24:31Speaker 1: you treat yourself after a win.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Some ice cream What type of ice cream? Just any
- 24:38Speaker 4: type of.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Any flavor?
- 24:41Speaker 4: Nothing specific. I wouldn't say I'm picky on desserts. I'm
- 24:44Speaker 4: a big dessert guy. I feel like some Ben and
- 24:46Speaker 4: Jerry's or Haagen-Dazs, if that's how you say it. I
- 24:49Speaker 4: like both of those.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Okay. What is a unique part of your daily routine?
- 24:54Speaker 4: I like to get in the sauna a lot, usually
- 24:57Speaker 4: after workouts or a practice or anything. And then on
- 25:00Speaker 4: game day, something unique. I feel like I don't listen
- 25:03Speaker 4: to a lot of music before the game. Not for any,
- 25:06Speaker 4: I mean, whatever's going on in the locker room, but
- 25:08Speaker 4: I don't always have headphones in. Not for any, I
- 25:12Speaker 4: don't really have a good reason for it, but.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You don't feel like you need music to lock in?
- 25:16Speaker 4: No, I feel, to be honest, I feel like I
- 25:17Speaker 4: remember I saw a while ago somebody said something to
- 25:21Speaker 4: the extent of you don't play with music. A former professional,
- 25:24Speaker 4: I honestly don't remember who it was, but a good
- 25:26Speaker 4: player said something that you don't have the music while
- 25:28Speaker 4: you're out there. So, you know, prepare without it.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Okay thinking about like game day ramping up are you
- 25:35Speaker 1: somebody who wakes up and you're already there or do
- 25:38Speaker 1: you try and slowly build as you get closer to kick?
- 25:41Speaker 4: I try to slowly build but I think there there's
- 25:43Speaker 4: kind of waves you know um maybe not right when
- 25:46Speaker 4: I first wake up you know kind of when I
- 25:48Speaker 4: get home in that little break especially for an 8
- 25:49Speaker 4: 30 game there's definitely waves of where I'm feeling like
- 25:52Speaker 4: I'm ready to go right then and then kind of
- 25:53Speaker 4: calm back down and then kind of go back and forth.
- 25:54Speaker 4: But I try to try to hold it as long
- 25:56Speaker 4: as you can.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Is there a part like pregame right before kick where
- 25:59Speaker 1: you feel like, okay, I'm, I'm there. I'm all the
- 26:02Speaker 1: way in and I'm ready to play.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Really during our, our kind of individual warmups, we're gonna
- 26:07Speaker 4: do our little hitting, hitting drills with the safeties. I
- 26:09Speaker 4: feel like that's when I'm, when I'm ready to go.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Last question. You got some flow coal. So what hair
- 26:15Speaker 1: products do you use?
- 26:17Speaker 4: Oh, nothing really. I use some, some native shampoo. That's it.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Some conditioner sometimes, but nothing much. I need a haircut.
- 26:26Speaker 1: You just let it air dry and it just does that?
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow.
- 26:29Speaker 4: It's just natural.
- 26:30Speaker 1: A lot of people wish they had your hair. I
- 26:33Speaker 1: like it. Thank you. You're going to cut it, you said,
- 26:35Speaker 1: as long?
- 26:36Speaker 4: No, I'll just get it cleaned up a little bit.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I don't really ask for anything too specific, but I'll
- 26:43Speaker 4: probably get a haircut this week.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Okay. I love it. Cool. Thanks for the time. Appreciate it.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
- 26:48Speaker 1: All right, Ray and I are back with some more.
- 26:51Speaker 1: We have to talk about the best fits from week
- 26:54Speaker 1: two because first game in Highmark Stadium, you know the
- 26:58Speaker 1: guys were bringing the looks. Yeah. I did not see
- 27:00Speaker 1: what you were wearing because you weren't in the album. Ray.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I was stuck in traffic.
- 27:04Speaker 1: You were stuck in traffic. What did you have on?
- 27:07Speaker 3: Oh, you know, I had some Givenchy pants on.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I had this Bottega top.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Givenchy.
- 27:13Speaker 3: And then I had these blacked out Louis shoes.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Okay, you were bringing it.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I know.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Dang.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I'm stuck in traffic, though.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You're stuck in traffic.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm going to say me first.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I like it. Sounds great.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I'm going to say me. But runner-up, second place, really
- 27:28Speaker 2: is first place, is C.D. C.D.
- 27:34Speaker 1: C.D. Deuce.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Hey, C.D., I like the color wave he had on,
- 27:37Speaker 3: kind of like these baggy kind of, I think, brown sweats.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's like brown, peachy kind of like. And then the
- 27:46Speaker 1: white baseball-looking tee over the top of it.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked it.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I got to go him first slash second place. And
- 27:52Speaker 3: then second place slash third, in a way.
- 27:54Speaker 1: We're staying on defense.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we are staying on defense. I didn't really see
- 27:58Speaker 2: no swag from the offense. Step your game up, offense.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Step your game up. But D. Alfred.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah. D.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Alfred, he had the guns out.
- 28:06Speaker 3: He was giving me like 50 cent kind of vibe.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I thought he had some tens, though. Maybe not. But
- 28:11Speaker 2: he had the New York hat. kind of painted little
- 28:14Speaker 2: vest jacket.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Yep, like a denim vest with some.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Color on it.
- 28:18Speaker 1: And then he had like brown baggy pants. Are you
- 28:21Speaker 1: into the baggy moment that we're having in fashion?
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Can we bring back rhinestones for people, for guys? Everybody's
- 28:29Speaker 3: still hating on.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Us getting that. Yo, when the Knicks won the NBA championships,
- 28:36Speaker 1: the championship T-shirt had rhinestones on it.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they were hating. They said men shouldn't be wearing
- 28:41Speaker 2: rhinestone pants.
- 28:42Speaker 1: What do you think? You think you should be wearing rhinestones?
- 28:46Speaker 2: I plead the fifth.
- 28:47Speaker 1: You plead the fifth? Yeah. I think it's fun, especially
- 28:49Speaker 1: for like a game day.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%.
- 28:51Speaker 1: When you're like walking the stage, I think anybody can
- 28:54Speaker 1: wear rhinestones.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 28:55Speaker 1: A little sparkle.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Okay, I had an idea.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Okay, I'm listening.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Because this podcast is also getting to know Ray Davis,
- 29:03Speaker 1: who he is, what he's about, what he likes. Why
- 29:06Speaker 1: not do like a Ray top three? What are the
- 29:08Speaker 1: top three things that you're loving this week, this month?
- 29:13Speaker 1: What's going on? You could go anywhere with this.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:16Speaker 1: One. One.
- 29:18Speaker 2: How about them cats?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 29:23Speaker 2: How about them cats?
- 29:23Speaker 1: Going to Kentucky.
- 29:25Speaker 2: We knocked off Texas A & M, who was ranked
- 29:28Speaker 2: ninth in the country.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 29:29Speaker 2: How about them cats? Got that victory. So that's what
- 29:31Speaker 2: I'm loving right now.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Yep.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Being able to support my Kentucky fellows over there.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Do you have any friends that are still playing that
- 29:38Speaker 1: are on staff?
- 29:39Speaker 2: I still have. staff.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I got some of the coaches, some of the ops
- 29:42Speaker 3: staff that I got really close with. But, yeah, being
- 29:45Speaker 3: an alumni, too, has been pretty fun because we're the
- 29:48Speaker 3: best sports school in the world.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Wow.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I got two SEC ties. I don't know if I
- 29:54Speaker 1: can agree with that. I'm a Mizzou grad, worked at Tennessee, right?
- 29:59Speaker 2: Kentucky.
- 30:00Speaker 4: All right.
- 30:00Speaker 3: My second thing that I'm loving, I've been on a
- 30:04Speaker 3: Wingstop kick for a minute.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So Rick Ross, if you're listening, call me. Please
- 30:09Speaker 2: send me some Wingstop.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Some Buffalo people may be hating on that.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Comment right now.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I know.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I'm sorry. But Wingstop, it's the ranch. It's the lemon
- 30:18Speaker 2: pepper steppers.
- 30:20Speaker 1: They do do lemon pepper very well.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Can you say lemon pepper stepper?
- 30:24Speaker 1: Lemon pepper stepper, lemon pepper stepper, lemon pepper stepper.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah, lemon pepper stepper. Rick Ross, please.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And you like their ranch?
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yes. I know you're a Miami fan, but come on
- 30:33Speaker 2: down to Buffalo.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Bring it over here to Buffalo.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I need some wings.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Is there a wing stop in Buffalo?
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Okay.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I can't tell you all that, though, so I can
- 30:40Speaker 2: save it for myself. Sorry, I'm hiding.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Ray drives to Ohio to get wing stop.
- 30:46Speaker 4: It could be out there.
- 30:47Speaker 2: You never know. My third thing that I'm loving.
- 30:51Speaker 3: is this is this is really more of an appreciation
- 30:54Speaker 3: okay to everyone in buffalo who who have been so
- 30:58Speaker 3: generous and nice throughout the past summer leading up to
- 31:01Speaker 3: uh this season uh i just had a chance to
- 31:03Speaker 3: go over to johnson's landing a couple of my buddies
- 31:05Speaker 3: a couple of guys friends bob johnson over there owner
- 31:08Speaker 3: johnson johnson's landing let us get one of the rooms
- 31:11Speaker 3: down there and we got to watch football and stuff
- 31:13Speaker 3: like that so it's been pretty cool and thankful to
- 31:16Speaker 3: see people really just looking out for the boys and
- 31:18Speaker 3: And looking out for me. So that's my third thing
- 31:21Speaker 3: is just loving the community and the love that I'm getting,
- 31:23Speaker 3: that everybody is getting.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I like that. That's a good one to end on.
- 31:29Speaker 1: We have one fan question.
- 31:30Speaker 4: It's from Molly.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Molly wants to know, what food do you love on
- 31:34Speaker 1: game day and what food do you avoid on game day?
- 31:37Speaker 3: Oh molly i love i love carbs like carbs carbs
- 31:41Speaker 3: carbs you feel up you burn it during the game
- 31:44Speaker 3: i'm always gonna go pasta gotta get some meat sauce
- 31:48Speaker 3: we'd be having turkey bolognese so i guess that's what
- 31:50Speaker 3: i kind of gotta go with i stay away from
- 31:54Speaker 3: my chicken like protein i don't know it's really it
- 31:57Speaker 3: just sits heavy it sits weird on my stomach so
- 32:00Speaker 3: i'm not big on the chicken the steaks i'm not
- 32:03Speaker 3: a breakfast person either.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Do you skip breakfast most days?
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yeah, like if it was a 1 o'clock game, I'm
- 32:07Speaker 3: probably not eating breakfast that day.
- 32:09Speaker 1: You know, I feel like there's probably a lot of
- 32:11Speaker 1: guys that do that, that are just like, I would
- 32:13Speaker 1: rather play on a lighter stomach instead of, like, feeling
- 32:16Speaker 1: hard and running and bending over and doing all those
- 32:21Speaker 1: things in game day.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but kids, don't listen to that. Like, eat your
- 32:24Speaker 3: breakfast in the morning. Fuel up, fuel up, fuel up.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Don't listen to what the professional athlete's saying right now.
- 32:31Speaker 3: That's the only time you don't listen to me right there.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Fuel up. Eat breakfast.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Fuel up. Eat your breakfast. Except on a Bills game day.
