- 1:57SPEAKER_04: This is my second time going, but last year's my first time.
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: I was like, it's a lot, it's just mind-blowing.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: It's really, there's only um artists and press are the only people in there that's not open to the outside public.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: So it is the biggest country music event that is not public.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: So you're gonna see some incredible stars.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: You're gonna, it's it's really and soak it all up.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Last year was my first year shooting.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Um, and I I think I was a little nervous.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: I don't really get nervous, but I think I was just in awe of the names that were around me and the performances that go on.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Like you could not buy a ticket to this.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: It's so incredibly amazing.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm honored that you're gonna be back there both, and I know you're gonna be dazzled up tomorrow, too.

- 2:42SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Bring it out.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: We love ourselves.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Addison is also from Texas, too.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: So we've had a Texas.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: We have had a Texas day.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: We have had a tech.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: Tell me about your music.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Tell me how you got started.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Let's dig in.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, goodness, Deb.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: So actually, um, I started off in country music so many years ago.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Opened up with, you know, had my own group, Texas Gold Rush, opened up with Mark Chestnut, Tim McGraw when he came out with Refried Dreams.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Love us some Tim McGraw.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: I think it was uh see Restless Heart, Pam Tillis.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, just to name a few names out there.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Love that.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And you know, I I I was like 21.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: I recorded.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Girl, you're only 25 right now.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Come on, you crank all those years into that.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Nobody ages on this show.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: They come back and they don't age.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: It's like it's like the Hotel California.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: All it gets better.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: It's vintage.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I I recorded um I was uh Reba McIntyre's uh Fancy song Fancy.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: They called me up from one of the radio stations and said, Your daughter's one of the top three finalists.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: So Reba McIntyre was a huge inspiration for me.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Went to Nashville, performed at the Nashville Palace, I won the contest there.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And it, you know, it was just you know an amazing time in country music for me.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: However, Deb, I was a Latina in South Texas, and I knew that the chances of me making it were probably very slim.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And I wasn't willing to move to Nashville, and so someone talked me into um, hey, you know, why don't you incorporate some Tejano musicians and so forth?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Anyway, let go, I I let the country band go, did the Tejano thing, was very, very um successful in the Tejano market.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Umades and a lot of stuff, recorded a lot of music, did the tour, did the radio tour, did all that, left the industry um for several years.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: About 20 years.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Did you miss it?
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Well, I lost my mother in 20, uh in 2000, excuse me, 2000.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: And it's just something that I walked away from for a very long time.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: But God had a plan for me, and I um became I moved to Dallas, Texas, by the way.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: And I became the drill team director at one of the high schools, and I catered to the lower income children of South Dallas.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I worked with thousands of children of all of the area elementary schools in the world of drill team and dance since my mother was the founder and the director of the ballet for glory goal of Corpus Christi.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: So I grew up in the world of dance.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Thinking we were gonna be these solid goal dancers, and that didn't happen.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Long story short, um, I worked for the school district 14 years.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: I um married the man of my life.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: I had my beautiful daughter.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: I went back to school and got my bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas in Dallas.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Good for you.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: And but somehow I knew that oh, I opened up my own dance company, Cervera Dance Company.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, girl, you're a go-getter.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Provided all these dance scholarships.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: All the beautiful children that didn't have a lot of money.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And so gave vocal lessons, and but but you know, uh it was always in my heart.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: I just, you know, it was all about the children for many for about 14 years.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: It's so beautiful.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Finally, I said, you know, it's it's me.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: It's it's time for it.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Your turn.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Well, you were doing God's work, it's time for you to do served now.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you served.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: You're doing people that help children do God's work.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, I'm here.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: I am if if I knew what then what I know now, things would be like amazing.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: Well, and we were all young ones, right?
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: Addison is still young.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: You know, and and it's it's just a it's it's just an amazing time to be in country music right now.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: There's definitely we've been talking all day about this year, is the breakout year for women in country music.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: Powerhouses women are kicking ass in country, and it is such a beautiful sight to see.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm glad to hear that from you because if anybody knows, it it would be someone like yourself.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it this has been the shift in the last six to nine months for these women powerhouses to come out has been amazing.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: And we were interviewing some other people earlier, and they were saying, and Addison, she's a young artist, you know, that the traditional struggles that women were are are falling by the wayside now, right?
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: Like women are are as big players in this game.
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: And it's amazing, it's not like that, yeah.
- 7:41SPEAKER_05: And even now, I mean, there are times where sometimes the women's biggest enemy is other women, right?
- 7:47SPEAKER_05: And I think we should support each other.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: Absolutely at always in every aspect of life.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: We need to be taking care of each other, but I mean, and is it just me girls, or is it like I I don't see a whole lot of women singing country music.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I see a lot of men, but I'm not seeing a lot of uh women singing it.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's just me, correct me if I'm wrong, but we need more women to sing country music.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: There's plenty of room.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: I don't think there is any better storytellers in the world than women.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, we are the producers of life, for God's sakes.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: I don't think there's anything better.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: I just threw my new friend from Dallas over there off.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: Sir, remember that.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: We are the producers of life.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: You got it, right?
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'm never working with that crazy blonde again.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: That chick is nuts.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: But yeah, it is.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: It's really, and I think now, um, you know, because you put your career on pause and you came back 20 years later.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: I don't think there is any better time to come back than right now.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's that's inspiring.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, country music has become the go-to, you know, in for music.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: It is now, I mean, blend genre.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Absolutely the opportunities are endless for sure.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: And with collaborate with other artists, you know, hip hop artists and rap artists, and uh I think now is the beautiful time.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: I don't I can't sing a note, but uh is a beautiful time to be in music.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: So welcome.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Your comeback is is there, girl.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Like and embrace it.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I am, and you know, I'm gonna give it all I have.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: I have an amazing team.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Um we've got Zay right there.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: I think you do have an amazing team.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: He's our brand strategist, um, operations director.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: You know, we we we just have a a very powerful team that is very knowledgeable of where our music needs to go, where I need to go as an artist.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, it's just important.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: It's extremely important.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: I can tell you you can sing all you want, everywhere you want, but if you don't have to be like, you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with, you know.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: And people, when this podcast started growing, um I I could never the show's not about me, it's about y'all.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: And I it would have never gotten to the point if it wasn't for my team.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: I I believe they're the best in the business.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: And when you have a strong, we're a family.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: We are, these are my Nashville family, and you know, and you get to know, become really good friends with some of these artists, and you get to follow their careers and and cheer when they win.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: This is a good chair to be in because I get to meet the best of the best.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, I want to be in your chair.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: I know, it's a it's a good job.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I'm giving it up anytime.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: This is mine, my chair.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: It's this is mine.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: My daughter was a Minotaurus when she was mine, mine, and that and I think it's really it's the show isn't about me.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: The show is about every guest that has a microphone in front of them.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: And we're honored to have you.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: So tell me how is it feeling?
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Like now that you're back and you're performing.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm I'm totally excited.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: I've I've revamped my band.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: I'm back to my country, back to my country roots.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: And so many people are so excited for me to be back.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you look all beautiful, Texas.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: So happy.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: I am too.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: God gave you a talent.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: It's your obligation to him and to you and to us to do it.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Well, I again we're grasping the opportunity.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: I'm a little raspy on my voice.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: We just got out of the recording studio yesterday.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: We spent hours.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: And and one of the songs, actually, Isaiah Matthews wrote, um, that you know, we're not gonna talk about titles right now because I can't, but you know, it's all about one of them is about women empowerment.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: It's very powerful.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Women empowerment.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: We've been talking about this all day.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: And we owe it to each other to pick each other up.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: We do instead of portion each other down, we owe it to each other to pick each other up.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: And I find that in country music where I come from.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not putting any genre down or anything like that.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying it's just real wonderful to be back in country music where everyone is uplifting everyone else and not trying to push it down.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: And it's like there's you just said it, honey.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: There's room here for everything.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: There's room here.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: And you said those key words, and I'm happy you said that because it's so true.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: It is true.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: You know, and I I'm but women are also the hardest critics on other women.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: They are, you know.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Like you, it's it's really, you know, and the things that I always this is how I I don't know if you know this.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: I'm a life coach and a therapist by trade.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: And um, I'm like, if you don't have anything nice to say, then just zip.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: Don't take the don't take the air at anybody else's balloon.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Life is hard enough.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Yes, right?
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Everyday life is struggle enough if you're not there to lift people up.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: This is a good show for you because we are of this is the hap welcome to the happy hour family.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: Sometimes it's dysfunctional, but it's always a good time.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I you know, I I I strongly believe in the words that you just said, you know, Deb.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: I my other, you know, n something else that holds very passionate and dear to my heart is bullying.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: And bullying, my next song is about bullying.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: I think it's the lowest form of human you know what's even worse is adult bullies.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Whether it's adult bullies, children being bullied.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's you know, I we have a 14-year-old, and you know, a lot of times if they don't have parents that advocate for them, I just can't even imagine.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: And I hope my song goes viral.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: I hope it's an anthem.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Dude, it'll go viral.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: You were on my show.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Or should go viral.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: That'll be crazy.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: I just wanted I just wanted to touch every, you know, bully organization out there, every child that is being mistreated, you know.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: For me, that just after all these years, you think we would know better, right?
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Like bullying was around when when I was a kid 29 years ago.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: But it's definitely like you think we would know better.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: The worst kind I think the my biggest pet peeve in this entire world is people who make other people feel small on purpose.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Why what do would you ever gain by making somebody else feel small?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: You know, there's nothing to gain, but be that voice for these kids.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I'm all about the children, and I've been working with children for many, many years.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: So um, it's just no child left behind.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: And if if I can make a child, if I can make a difference in in one child's life, then I have done my job.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: That's such a beautiful.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I I feel that way about my clients and my patients.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: I'm like, if I worked this hard and I changed one life, I did my job.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And you and you are Deb.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're the one, you're a person that's making a difference if you know, if and you're changing lives.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, thank you.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: I appreciate that.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: It doesn't um it doesn't really feel like a job.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Even my my other job doesn't really feel like a job.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: When I see people step into the best version of themselves, it's amazing.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: It's everything, it's everything.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: It is when I see people regain their lives back and get what they live their dreams, and it's earth-shattering.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: It really is.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: It I'm in awe of people that are brave enough.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: And that's but you coming back 20 years later, that's a lot of courage.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: It's a lot, and a lot of things have changed, you know.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Back, oh yeah.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, there was it was all radio, there was no podcast, there were no um you know, there was just the opportunities were just very few.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Now, girl, if they don't play your music, if the podcast, if the if the if the radio internet stations play it, you know, you're good.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: My point in this conversation is today the sky is the limit.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Go for it and and believe in yourself and everything will work out.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Uh amen.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And you guys.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: And you know, the funny thing is too, is like, how do you know it's not gonna work out if you don't even at least try it?
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, try it.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: You know, I tell people all the time, I'm like, it is better to leave this earth saying I tried than have this wish list and and never live out, live your full life out.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: That's right, Deb.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: And most importantly, you have you enjoy what you do as a therapist.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: I love I love both jobs, to be honest.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: I love both jobs.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: I love them both.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Equally, I love them.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh I do.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I love I love this job too.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And so my my point is just just enjoy what you do and do it.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: I mean definitely treat people right and treat people right and it will come back.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: You know, the the world has a way of resurfacing for people who take care of other people.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: I'm having so much fun.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, this, you know, um Are you performing?

- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Um it's in your blood, it's in your DNA.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, inner entertaining a crowd is definitely something that I enjoy doing, I guess.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: And you gotta connect with them first because if you don't connect with them, then you don't have anything.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: So entertaining is is big on our agenda, and you know, we're we're looking forward to putting out great country music and sharing it with the world.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: And my goal is to get on and open up with one of the big headliners of the yeah.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: So and then next year they're headlining for you.
- 17:22unknown: Boom! That's a goal.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Well, that's a nice goal.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: That's what we're doing, that's how we do things around here.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: I think that's so beautiful though.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: Like, and I that's really inspiring for women alone to just be like, you're a mom, right?
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: There's so many reasons for you to have not chased your dreams.
- 17:39SPEAKER_05: This industry, I mean, it pushes now, it's a little bit better, but it's pushed back on that, you know.
- 17:42SPEAKER_05: It is, and moms are superheroes, they are moms that are artists, yeah, superhero.
- 17:47SPEAKER_05: They are.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, I love when I have a mom on the show that you can balance.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, you got a life at home that's dependent on yours and that you can balance it all.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Yes, I think that's miraculous, and I'm sure he's a fantastic kid.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Actually, she's she's it's a she, what's her name?
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Her name is Gianna Skye.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Gianna Skye, how beautiful.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: She's 14, and I always tell her, baby, you sing way better than your mama.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Would that be an eighth grade kind of?
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: She's and yes, and she just made it, she's just made it into the high school drill team.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, congrats.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: And she's got a beautiful voice.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Um, oh, that's so good.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: So it's, you know, she says, Mom, have so much fun in Nashville.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Do your thing.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm rooting for you.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: You know, she says, I want you to do this.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And I said, you know, let's do it.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: I have so many people I want to introduce you to.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Yes, I do.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: I was telling Desiree, I'm like, I already had like, I'm like, okay, tomorrow I need to have you to be the coffee with this person.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: And we became like, we talk all the time.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: She said, you know, Desiree, Desiree's good.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: She's good.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: She's a good girl.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: She is good.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: She is, she's good.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: And, you know, she said, Laura, and and our our our theme, Deb, is so is Zay's.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: Together to the top.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Together to the top.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Together to the top.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: No matter what that's.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be ours, I think.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: Together to the top.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: Together to the top.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: That's where we're heading.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: She's wonderful.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: I think it's it's a really I'm I'm happy for you because it's such a good time to come out.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: This week in Nashville is gonna blow your mind.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I cannot wait for this.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: This is the week of this CRS is the week where the up-and-coming artists are really focused on, but heavily focused on by the already greats in this industry.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: You know, it's where old meets young, and I think the energy in there, the energy is ridiculous.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Like I would go to bed and be like, oh yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Like it's it is it is such a good time.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: I learned so much.
- 19:54SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I just started my radio campaign last year, and it was right when CRS hit, and I was like, I just learned so much.
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: Met so many people, so many people.
- 20:05SPEAKER_05: So, so fun.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: I got seven text messages before I woke up of like managers and publicists that are like, I can't wait to see you tomorrow.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm like, oh my god, that's so good.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: I got my own fan club.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: But um, it's such a good time for you to be doing that.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: I am play full in, like, enjoy every I do.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: I was telling Daj, I'm like, I have so many.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Drink water, eat free.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Drink water, I'm gonna be like you.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be a sponge absorbing everything.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: And we're just like I tell my team, this is the time.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: This is the time to to focus, to learn, and then we go and we execute.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Right, yeah, right.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so and you never know, you know, the power of one.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: I teach this to um my clients and my patients too.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: I'm like, the power of one, you never know who you're in the room with, right?
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you never know who, in especially in Nashville, who's in front of you getting coffee.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: You know, we the power of that one person could open so many doors.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: The reason I love country music so much is that it it's amazing.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: Like, I uh Chris, shout out to you, my friend, a gentleman that I want you to meet.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: Um he was in the lobby.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: I had to go take a phone call.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: I had carry this backpack because you know, I my job is in my damn backpack, whatever.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: My dog could be, I don't even my husband would be there.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: I don't even know.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Um, and uh, he was watching it, and here I came back and we went and had a drink together.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: This gentleman, and he's been in country music for 45 years.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: Wow, he's an attorney by trade, but he knows everybody, but he's humble and he's really particular about who you know he works with, and he's such a great guy that I had him on the show the next day.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: We worked through lunch so I could have him on the show.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: And when I tell you this man gets on the show, um, I work in trauma and addiction in my regular life.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Um, I do work with artists and coaching and stuff too, but I work in trauma and addiction because I feel That's my way of being able to give back to people.
- 22:03SPEAKER_02: And um, he got on, and you would have thought I was the guest.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: He's like, Dad, I have to tell you, I'm like, Sir, can you follow me around every damn day of my life?
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: You are, he was my biggest cheerleader.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: And he's such a great man, and he loves this industry so much.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: And the power of connecting in this city.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Tell me what your thought is on the difference between Nashville country music.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: I'd love to hear yours too, and Texas country music.
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: Definitely a difference.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: I'll let her go first.
- 22:34SPEAKER_05: You go first, lady.
- 22:35SPEAKER_05: Um, this is my so I'm kind of new to Texas music.
- 22:38SPEAKER_05: I live in Texas my whole life.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: But I grew up a theater girl.
- 22:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:41SPEAKER_05: That was I didn't really grow up listening to country music.
- 22:43SPEAKER_05: And so this year is my first year really getting immersed in that scene as well as the Nashville music scene.
- 22:49SPEAKER_05: And there are definitely some similar similarities, but I think the difference is you know, to me, all music is just music.
- 22:58SPEAKER_05: Me too.
- 22:58SPEAKER_05: All music is a good idea.
- 22:59SPEAKER_05: I love it all music.
- 23:00SPEAKER_05: I think the industry itself versus Texas in Nashville is very different.
- 23:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_05: But the music in the is the same to me.
- 23:06SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 23:07SPEAKER_05: And so yeah, there's a little, they're just small differences, but it's more of on the business side.
- 23:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I agree.
- 23:13SPEAKER_05: For me.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: I totally agree with what she said.
- 23:16SPEAKER_05: And the ones that think it's different, I think is wrong.
- 23:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:21SPEAKER_05: Because all music is music.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: And you know, well, we Texans, we're proud people.
- 23:26SPEAKER_05: They are.
- 23:26SPEAKER_05: We're like nothing's better than Texas.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: Don't care what you say, nothing's better than Texas.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: I don't want to shock everybody in the room.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
- 23:35SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: Well, you know.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: I know, right?
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: I have that jacket, except mine has a big eagle on the back of it.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, I'm a Dallas girl, so you know what girl I am.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I yeah, you're a Cowboys girl.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: What do you think about the Texas versus You know, I I agree with you.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: I believe that I see a lot of similarities in country music.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: I see a lot of I see I see country music going a different direction as far as style and you know, I I I typically tend to be I I am more a traditional old school, beautiful country music.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: I love it too.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: That is me and you fit the motif of that.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you, Debbie.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: You totally do.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: You look like would you be ready to tour if somebody was like, hey, can you open up for us?
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Would you be ready?
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: I'm ready.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: I'll go tomorrow.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: We're ready.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: I'll just make a phone call to my band members.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: You can come down.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: My dream is a tour bus for the show.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: I want a black tour bus and I want that logo on the side of it.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Let's go, right?
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: Plenty of room for everybody.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: We're gonna take my dog.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: We're taking everybody.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: She reminds me of I saw that.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: That's that.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Did you see that series, Nashville?
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: She remind me of um the young lady that the songwriter, the blonde.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Scarlet.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: Scarlet.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: I love Scarlett.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: You remind me of the side.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Addison's a little sunshine, isn't she?
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: She's so cool.
- 24:59SPEAKER_05: I'm happy to be here.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: That's another thing, too.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: You'll come back and co-host.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: That's what everybody does.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Nobody ever leaves.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: It's just like we were saying to any corporate sponsor out there that uh if you want to throw us a couple hundred thousand bucks, we'll have a reunion.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: A happy hour debt will bring everybody in for one big party.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: It would be a lot of fun.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: So, what's the goal?
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: You're you're recording music.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: Did you do you write your own or do you collab with anybody?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: So, so I did write one of my songs.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: As a matter of fact, Isaiah wrote the second song.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Isaiah Matthews wrote the second song.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: And um He's multi-talented.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's rolling up here with like a genius.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: He's a genius.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: I can tell.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: I could tell just by looking at him.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so um, but no, I I I have been writing some I mean I have had a chance to produce also in the studio with one of my songs.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, no, I don't want this, I don't want that, but you know, but um you know it it that's where I'm at.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I am writing some of some of my music though.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: This is my gonna be my third country song.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: So right after we're done with these two, we're gonna go back into the studio like the next month and start on two more songs.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: Because right now our ultimate goal, Deb, is to hit the stage with my original material.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: They don't want me up there singing a bunch of cover songs.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: I might maybe do one if they allow me to, but what would it be?
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: What would be the one cover song you would sing?
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: Girl, I'm a Reba.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: I'm a Reba fan.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: I'm a Reba fan.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I I I love her.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: I'm a Laney fan, and I'm an Ella fan.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Well, you'll see him at CRS.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you'll get to see him at CRS.

- 27:02SPEAKER_02: By September, I will have three grandchildren in 18 months.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have to bring the tour bus to Philly.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: You guys are gonna have to all come to Philly.

- 27:29SPEAKER_00: I am in I you know inspire children.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: I am I am set on putting out messages throughout with my music.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: So great.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: And and so if I can do that, then then we're good.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: We're good.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: I think it's great.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: But Deb, you don't know how how grateful I am that you know that that you you came and like came into our lives.

- 28:06SPEAKER_02: I I've never had anybody on the show that hasn't said it was the most fun they've ever had.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: And I've never had anybody in the show that didn't want to come back in some capacity, either as a guest or as a co-host.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: And um, I feel honored to have a platform where somebody who took 20 years off from country music is rolling in like a rock star, and this beautiful face is touring, you know, like that.

- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Guess what?
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: Now you're gonna get flooded.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: This is the first one in.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: The second you get one in, it's like I know.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: So you're gonna be doing a lot of interviewing, which is great.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, listen, if I were an artist, I would sit through every interview I possibly could.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: I totally would, because I think one, and it because you know, you're primarily gonna be in Texas, but I mean you have a connection in Nashville.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: And I think we are the power of, you know, and when I do when I coach artists, I tell them, I'm like, connection is everything.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: You don't know who's in the room with you, always show up and as a professional and and shake hands and kiss babies.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: Yes, right, because that's what opens the door to the next thing.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be doing so many interviews, like you're gonna need a makeup artist walking around with you.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: Like it's gonna be crazy.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: But share your story because that story was meant to be told.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: Yes, and your music is meant to be heard.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Um, that's what we're continuing to do.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: And you know, and we've had several writers already reach out to us.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: They're wanting to be used their material and beautiful.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: You know, we'll just I guess cross that road when we get there.
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: And you know, find someone to collaborate with that had shares your passion and and your story.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Because I think you know, we've talked all day about there's plenty of room at the top, but I think there's a different spot at the top for somebody who has been in the industry for so long and then went out and then is back.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: I think there's a certain amount of experience and seasoning with artists that have been doing this a long time.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: So your stories are far more than somebody who's here with a guitar and a dream.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, you know, and I think those meant to be heard.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, what if you could play anywhere, where would it be?
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Are you do you play instruments as well, or do you No, no, I I I play a little bit of piano.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Okay, but every girl back home in Texas, I don't know if you agree with me, um, of course, is to perform on the grand old opera.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've had artists say to me, I do I don't want to sell stadiums, I want to be there.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: Because that's where the legend played.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Right, exactly.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, my God, it's not free, right?
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's a business, it's like everything else.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: And we've been talking about all too, is is you know, you guys are entrepreneurs.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: I'm an entrepreneur, you know, and and this music is a business.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: It is a business.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: But how beautiful that you get to do what you makes fills your heart.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, life is short and you gotta do what what makes you happy, and this is what makes me happy.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: Of course, my husband is my our CEO.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: I was just gonna say, how pivotal is your husband in this business?
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: He's probably my the one, the number one person that continues to push me to fulfill my dreams in music.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And uh that's so beautiful, he's so involved, and he's he's like the the brain behind the the uh the company, and he's just the entertainment, and and and and it's it's just it's amazing.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: I just don't think Deb I'd be able to do it without him.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: It's beautiful.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just amazing.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: There's something very special.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: My husband is uh he's a hero, he's a wonderful human being, and you know the podcast is two years old this month, so uh we're celebrating happy birthday with happy hour.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: And he came in and he said, I'm I'm proud of you every day.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: I'm proud of how you treat people every day.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Don't show me who I need to be dating now, right?
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've got a lesson.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I told him, I'm like, you need to teach men how to act.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: You need to sit down with some men, you need to charge a cruel, like Tony Robbins.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: You need to teach men how to act.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: He is old school gentleman.
- 33:49SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: Never one boyfriend.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: Never settled for anything less than that.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and the minute they tell you that you cannot sing and you cannot perform and they don't want you involved, then you need to move on to the next.
- 34:03SPEAKER_05: I remember my ex-boyfriend, he said, Once you're done with this music thing.
- 34:06SPEAKER_05: Oh what?
- 34:09SPEAKER_05: Oh no, this is this is it.
- 34:10SPEAKER_05: There's no there's no plan B.
- 34:12SPEAKER_05: I know somebody called a music.
- 34:14SPEAKER_05: Somebody called my passion.
- 34:15SPEAKER_05: A little passion.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: Your oh, your little podcast?
- 34:18SPEAKER_02: I'm like, how jealous are you of me?
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: That was my only how jealous are you of me.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's so important.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: He wrote songs about it.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: I love that your husband is involved too, because I mean, being on the road and recording and you know, having I mean, it takes it's a lot, it takes a lot.
- 34:36SPEAKER_05: Stories like that make young girls like me be like, it can't happen.
- 34:40SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 34:40SPEAKER_05: Because my dream is to be an artist and a performer, and sometimes I'm like, you know, I I want to have that love.
- 34:45SPEAKER_05: I want to have the love of my life.
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: But stories like yum yucky.
- 34:49SPEAKER_05: It'll happen.
- 34:49SPEAKER_05: You totally happen.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: No one can yuck your yum.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: Ever.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: I don't ever date a yum yucker.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: I've never heard that.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: Dude, do that.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: A yum yucker.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: You know how you think something is so yum and they're like, yuck, you're like, you're a yum yucker.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: She don't ever date.
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: I won't even let you date a yum yucker.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: No.
- 35:09SPEAKER_02: You should let us scream.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: You gotta get through Deb first.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: If you can make it through Deb, you can date me.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: But that's right.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I think it's so wonderful to have somebody that, you know, because I don't, you know, from the outside looking in, right?
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: We see like beautiful outfits and and talent and performing.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: We forget that there's a real human aspect to this.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: You're still raising a child.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: We're still all we still have the same problems that everybody else has, you know.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: And I think it's it's hard because you know, when you get on stage, you gotta wipe that all clean.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Yes, you do.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: And you know, but your songs will change somebody's life.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Yes, and that is a power, that is some power.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: And that is why we're here.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: That is here to serve.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: And again, I mean, if I can make a difference, just like with the children, if I could make a difference, and which I did in many children's lives, I'm sure.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Then I've done my part.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: So I can't wait.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: I can't wait to get these two songs out.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: I can't.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: So when are they coming out?
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Do we have a date or no?
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: We're still do we have a date?
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Um, actually, one is already like 90% done, but but the final mix and mastering is still always takes forever.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's not bad.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: Nice.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: That's close.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: But he's talking because he's talking video-wise, too, because we won't put out a singled out video.
- 36:26SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 36:26SPEAKER_02: And that's the way you gotta do it, though.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: You totally do.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: God, I want to be on your glam squad when that's shot.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 36:33SPEAKER_02: I want to be there for hair and makeup when that.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: They're making fun of me because I brought 10 pairs of boots with me to Nashville.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: You have to.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Girls gotta be prepared.
- 36:42SPEAKER_05: Girl.
- 36:43SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: It's like dating your best friend's boyfriend.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: Such an outfit repeater.
- 36:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's so.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: Well, I think when you come this week to like at the CRS, it's like it's a it's a dress.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: Just you're gonna look smashing.
- 36:56SPEAKER_05: You're gonna look dress as an artist.
- 36:58SPEAKER_05: There's so many different types.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: Just be you.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 37:01SPEAKER_05: I dress fancy as can be.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: I think that there's never if you have an excuse to wear boots and a hat, you just damn well do it.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: Just do it fancy nancy.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: You do it.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: I think it's great.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: You know, like I'm toned down a little today because we're shooting in studio, but it'll be it'll go up a couple notches for sure.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: It will definitely go up.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: I think you'll look fabulous.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 37:20SPEAKER_02: That's a sweet thing to say.
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: And you're beautiful just the way you are, so I can only imagine.
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: You brought 10 pairs of boots and you're here for days.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: Well, Isaiah's saying he's saying, Yes, I did, but no, maybe 20 pairs of boots.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: Isaiah's like, I'm not carrying those tan boots.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: Don't you?
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: No, one suitcase is full of boots, but I mean, you know, you just have different outfits and different colors of boots, and you just and I don't know about you, but I I have to plan my my jewelry.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: If I just bring it up.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, I pack the panty, the bra, the jewelry, like it's like the whole ensemble.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: Because I don't there's no time to stress in the morning.
- 37:52SPEAKER_02: And I think I might be the only woman that does this, but like sometimes you know, you wake up, you're like, I shouldn't have had this fries last night.
- 37:58SPEAKER_02: I feel a little bloated.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: Like, there's you know what I mean?
- 38:00SPEAKER_02: Like sometimes you have different outfits for certain things.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: We need options, ladies.
- 38:04SPEAKER_02: We need options, and I think that's I know my husband just he's like, whatever, just let her go.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: She's insane, it doesn't matter.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: She wants to take 10 pairs of boots.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: But I think you'll have a really good time tomorrow, and I think the vibe will be really good.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: And I encourage you to meet everybody you can.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: I will.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Everybody you can.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: And I would.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: We don't have any idea who the next person is, you know.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: I've met some incredible in the two years of this podcast, I've met some of the most incredible human beings that have cheered on my side, have always been there when I needed anything, and that is such a great feeling.
- 38:37SPEAKER_02: It's a wonderful feeling.
- 38:38SPEAKER_02: So meet everybody because you you look like you belong on stage, girl.
- 38:43SPEAKER_02: You totally look like you belong on stage.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, I I just have to say, you know, going into this, I thought before I came to Nashville, I said, you know, because I had a lot of questions within myself, and I thought, you know, how should I dress?
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: How should I be?
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: Am I gonna be too flashy?
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: But but most importantly, there's no such thing as too much bling.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: I want to be myself.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: I've got to go in this country music genre as myself.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Because if not, it will catch up with me later.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: Well, you're very stunning.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: So well, thank you.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: This is me.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just it's not anything that I mean, it's just me.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 39:16SPEAKER_02: Well, if you saw me, I'd be in a baseball hat and sweatpants.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: There'd probably be mustard stains all over the sweatshirt.
- 39:22SPEAKER_02: Like I get to I work from home, I treat my clients uh, you know, through Zoom.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: And like at any given time, my husband's like, Deb, there's mustard all over here.
- 39:29SPEAKER_02: You know, I think that's what you know it.
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you right.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, sometimes I'm I'm the chick that can just throw on a baseball hat and go.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: Cause I think I want to do that too sometimes.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's so good.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: It's it's like it's a literally like liberating.
- 39:43SPEAKER_02: You know, and then my husband will be he wanted to go out to dinner on Saturday night, and I'm like, I've been in sweats and a baseball hat all day.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: So if we're gonna go like to a dive bar, I'm a hundred percent in.
- 39:53SPEAKER_02: But if you were thinking dinner, I'm not your chick.
- 39:55SPEAKER_05: I we're gonna put a wrap of my face on this trailer we just spot for my next couple shows coming up.
- 40:01SPEAKER_05: And my manager Michael, he was like, Addison, you can't look like a catfish when you're at the gas station.
- 40:06SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh, that's it.
- 40:07SPEAKER_05: Because your face is gonna be right there.
- 40:08SPEAKER_05: But I love looking like a homeless person.
- 40:11SPEAKER_05: I know I do too.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: I bet you you wake up pretty, don't you?
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: No, oh no.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, some people just wear, they just look that good all the time.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't think so.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, I'm sure.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: I can tell that blonde hair matching pajamas for sure.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Right, totally.
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: Bras and panties.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: I had one of my best friends yell at me because I don't have matching bras and panties.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm not gonna get in a car accident.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: Who the hell's gonna know?
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: I'm like, are you planning on having me teleported somewhere?
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: Because I think I'm gonna be okay.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: What do you want to do here in Nashville before besides a CRS?
- 40:45SPEAKER_02: What do you want to do?
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: What's on the bucket list?
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: Well, I think we're gonna go catch some entertainment.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Um, we're also gonna go cite some places for our next video.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: And Michael out there could probably um Addison's manager could probably hook up.
- 41:03SPEAKER_05: He's like Mayor of Bashville, I swear.
- 41:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he is the he is literally like Mayor McCheese.
- 41:09SPEAKER_05: He's done the whole coming here, came back, left, all right.
- 41:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, he was an artist at one point.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: So they he can probably give you some some really food's great here too.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: Go out and get some good food.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: Uh no, absolutely.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh Desiree has our itinerary, our publicist has our itinerary, so I mean, I don't know what's on our schedule yet.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: We just flew in, like, I want to say I heard.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: I know we had you here.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: Originally, we had you in, um, and this is shout out to my assistant, Jake, hardest working man I know.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: Um, I think we originally had you in for an earlier, and then Desiree's like, her flight's not even coming to that.
- 41:46SPEAKER_02: So we like just swapped guests out.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: We moved somebody else in earlier and moved you to the later spot.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: So that you so yeah, how was the flight?
- 41:52SPEAKER_02: Was everything okay?
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: The flight was was great.
- 41:54SPEAKER_00: You know, I think there's just a lot of people at the airports right now.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: It's spring break.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: It's spring break.
- 42:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Well, it's it's it's Dallas's spring break this week.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: There's just a lot of lot of stuff going on at the airports right now.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: So um, but we made it safely.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: That's all that matters.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: That's all that matters.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: And Louise is like, we're gonna be 10 minutes late.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my because he's like really on just very punctual.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: And I'm like that's my husband, he's on time, Charlie.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: He is oh, I might know.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: And the traffic here, I don't know if you all have been driving around, but the traffic here is crazy.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: We had a lift uh bring us.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because I mean the infrastructure here was not meant to hold the capacity of people that are here.
- 42:39SPEAKER_02: Definitely groups, you know, and they are saying that within five to seven years, every major record label will leave LA and they will leave um, you know, Atlanta and they'll leave New York.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: And this will be the music mecca for all music.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 42:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: You have to get your little, you'll have to get your little bougie pad here.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll have to get us a second, second bougie pad over here, huh?
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: Second, yeah, that was my place in Texas in Frisco.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: I had a little bougie pad there with all intention to get a little bougie pad here, so I don't have to hotel it all the time.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: But then all the kids started having kids.
- 43:13SPEAKER_02: And I was like, damn, this was not in my plan.
- 43:17SPEAKER_02: But I love being a grandmom.
- 43:19SPEAKER_02: I think it's it's ridiculously joyful.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: First, I was like, does that make does that put me in the old category?
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: Like, and then I was like, no, it's a mindset.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: You can do anything.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: That's right, you can do anything you want to do.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: Anything you want to do.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, in and when I come to Nashville, I think this is probably my fourth time.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: You'll be irregular here now that you're back in the circuit.
- 43:39SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 43:40SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be irregular.
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be a once a month girl.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: But I don't ever want to go it's like I wanna stay.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: I know, me too.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: It sucks.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: Everyone is so darn genuinely nice.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: It's like Texas.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: It's every mo it's very like minded to Texas.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Um it is very people are friendly, people are happy, and I don't even know if you know this about in In there's never a cover charge to see music in Nashville.
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: If you go to a restaurant or a bar, there's never a cover charge.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: Um and I'm parking.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the parking's a little nutty.
- 44:11SPEAKER_02: That's why you just take an Uber everywhere you go, girl.
- 44:13SPEAKER_02: Just save yourself the trouble.
- 44:14SPEAKER_02: And um the artists that are normally playing are usually roughly paid about a hundred bucks a piece, which is no money.
- 44:23SPEAKER_02: So they take a so anywhere you go, they take this big bucket and they pass it around.
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: And that is how the artists are hopefully discovered and seen and get paid.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: And um, but really, it's the only city where you can see live, you can hear live music everywhere for free.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: Live music everywhere, and every single one of them are so talented.
- 44:43SPEAKER_00: It's amazing.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: Even at the airport.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you, the airport doesn't even bother me to get stuck there.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: You don't find that in Texas.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, not everywhere you go.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: Everyone here in Nashville is so talented.
- 44:55SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: It's crazy, right?
- 44:58SPEAKER_05: The writers, uh everyone.
- 45:00SPEAKER_02: Is that intimidating as an artist that like everybody's so talented?
- 45:04SPEAKER_05: To me, I I just was excited to learn from everybody.
- 45:08SPEAKER_05: When I I mean I came here for college, decided not to go back to college.
- 45:11SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 45:11SPEAKER_05: It was really just an excuse to get to Nashville.
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: To convince my parents.
- 45:15SPEAKER_05: I'm going to college in National Angels.
- 45:16SPEAKER_05: I just I love learning, and with the writers being so talented too, you know, we can co-write and cuts and things like that.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: So I love it.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: And so you moved to Nashville.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: You live here in Nashville.

- 45:36SPEAKER_00: Her and her manager drive it.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: 13 hours.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: Well, you have a lot of hey.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: I now that just says how much you really, really, really want to be so successful as an artist.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: I personally would not have moved to Nashville when I when I could have.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: So I think that but then it's always that what if I.
- 45:55SPEAKER_00: Everyone everything happens for a reason.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: So absolutely.

- 49:24SPEAKER_00: About Dallas, there's something the prestige.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, you f you're in downtown, and you know, you just feel there's just a sense of ambition.

- 50:39SPEAKER_00: I'm sure.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: You know, we've had a lot of sad people from the Latin industry, but you know, um can't please them all.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: This is my strong point.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: Can't please them all, right?
- 50:52SPEAKER_02: It's a different season, and that's really what life is about is the next season that's coming up.

- 51:10SPEAKER_02: She's a rock star, she's gonna be fine.
- 51:11SPEAKER_02: I'll worry about us.
- 51:12SPEAKER_05: I'm just happy to interview so many artists today with you.
- 51:14SPEAKER_05: I know it's great to meet you, and I can't wait to see how your story unfolds.
- 51:18SPEAKER_02: I know it is.
- 51:19SPEAKER_02: It's nice to have because you came on and we had two male co-hosts.
- 51:22SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah.
- 51:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I always bring back.
- 51:24SPEAKER_02: I yeah, I have there's one artist, and he is from Philadelphia, and he was my very first artist.
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: So I credit him for this.
- 51:33SPEAKER_02: It was my opening to country music.
- 51:36SPEAKER_02: So, um, and then another artist who was on the show when Addison was on.
- 51:40SPEAKER_02: Um, I was his very first interview when he moved to Nashville at 16 years old with his entire family left Southern California.
- 51:48SPEAKER_02: He's been on the he's touring right now.
- 51:50SPEAKER_02: That shows to show the power, right?
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: He's 19 and now he's touring, and he's been on the show many times and co-hosted many times.
- 51:58SPEAKER_02: And um we love you, Timmy.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: We're out, we're looking for you, sir.
- 52:02SPEAKER_02: Um, great kid, great family, and and that's that's the power of connection.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: Hey, you know, again, it's it's it's always great to follow your dreams.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: So dream big.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: Dream big or go home.
- 52:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I tell people that all the time.
- 52:16SPEAKER_02: I'm like, if you're not if your dream doesn't seem ridiculous to somebody else, you're not dreaming big enough.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 52:22SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 52:23SPEAKER_02: Let there be naysayers.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: Do you handle you handle the social media?
- 52:27SPEAKER_02: Who handles the social media?
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: Desiree handles our social media.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: Does she really?
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: Damn, she's chewing a lot on top of she does chew a lot.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: Yes, on top of everything else.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Um, she handles you know, of course I have my regular page, and I've kind of but you know, they're just very specific on what I put on my fan page.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: And so um, you know, everything's planned out.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: My husband is also a writer.
- 52:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, everything has to be perfect when it's written, and then once it's approved, then it goes to Desiree, and then Desiree posts.
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't handle my own social media because to me that would be like getting another full-time job.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 53:02SPEAKER_02: I don't have time for it.
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: So and really I I'm not the person that's connected to the phone.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Like, I like to live my life in the present.
- 53:11unknown: Yes.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: So I don't really get involved unless I have to, unless somebody called me a Karen a few weeks ago.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: Uh a couple months ago now, called me a Karen.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you're still I'm the I'm so far from I can't let it go.
- 53:23SPEAKER_02: I'm still bitter.
- 53:24SPEAKER_02: I heard that the Karen isn't gonna be Karen anymore.
- 53:26SPEAKER_02: The new name is Jessica.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: Ah, Jessica.
- 53:28SPEAKER_02: I'm like, somebody calls me Jessica, and um they're gonna know I'm from Philly.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: From Philly.
- 53:35SPEAKER_02: It was a pleasure to have you.
- 53:36SPEAKER_02: You come back.
- 53:37SPEAKER_02: We're excited, we're gonna be following you.
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: Yep, I hope so.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: And again, it thank you so much for the opportunity.
- 53:43SPEAKER_00: It's been my honor.
- 53:44SPEAKER_00: Um, to do my very first podcast.
- 53:48SPEAKER_02: Then you see the phone, you're gonna be like, now I'm gonna be filming everyday podcast.
- 53:51SPEAKER_02: And uh do it.
- 53:53SPEAKER_02: Never turn down an interview.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: You don't know who's watching.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: I mean it could be that one person that's out there, but absolutely we wanna we wanna be able to cross and and connect with as many people as possible.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: And you know, that way they can get to know us through our music, and we can get to know the person that's actually interviewing us like like yourself, Deb.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, I mean, we're we're ready.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're ready.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: Let's get this party rocking, it's time.
- 54:22SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 54:23SPEAKER_01: Snaps for that, ladies.
- 54:25SPEAKER_01: Snaps.
- 54:25SPEAKER_01: Snaps.
