- 0:42Speaker 6: for your child to ride in the back seat with
- 0:44Speaker 6: a seat belt.

- 1:26Speaker 8: find a local Lions Club near you.
- 1:28Speaker 10: Everyone can help keep our roads safe. In my truck,
- 1:31Speaker 10: I'll remember to follow at a safe distance. When you
- 1:34Speaker 10: need to merge in front of a truck, please leave
- 1:36Speaker 10: plenty of space. Let's all plan to share the road safely.
- 1:39Speaker 10: Visit www.sharetheroadsafely.gov. It's Ron Furb, and I've got opinions you'll
- 1:46Speaker 10: want to hear. After Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 1:56Speaker 11: Craig Yoho coming on to pitch. He's worked a scoreless
- 1:59Speaker 11: ending so far in this series. Coming from the Milwaukee Brewers,
- 2:04Speaker 11: along with Blake Perkins and the Bo Naylor trade. Along
- 2:10Speaker 11: with Cody Hoyer. Marcus Semien, the batter, waves at the
- 2:13Speaker 11: first pitch.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Strike one.
- 2:15Speaker 11: Yoho, fastball, sinker, cutter, and a ton of changes. Seventh inning,
- 2:23Speaker 11: 6-5 Mets. The next pitch, waved at, another good changeup.
- 2:26Speaker 12: 0-2.
- 2:28Speaker 11: Yoho has worked two scoreless innings for Cleveland. 315 ERA
- 2:35Speaker 11: in 15 games with the Brewers. Pitches up a bit.
- 2:39Speaker 5: One and two.
- 2:42Speaker 11: He works in a hurry. Simeon, solo homer, sack fly
- 2:45Speaker 11: and a double. Two for two, two RBIs.
- 2:48Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 2:50Speaker 11: And it's a changeup down and in. Two balls, two strikes.
- 2:56Speaker 11: Colin Holderman worked a scoreless inning. Third relief pitcher used.
- 3:03Speaker 11: Now the 2-2. Swung on. Line drive. Base hit in
- 3:06Speaker 11: the left. Another changeup. Stayed up and Simeon needs a
- 3:10Speaker 11: triple to hit for the cycle. That'll bring up Jared Young.
- 3:15Speaker 11: RBI single.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Pinch hitting. Last inning.
- 3:33Speaker 11: Now the set. Now the pitch. And a changeup in
- 3:37Speaker 11: there for a strike.
- 3:50Speaker 5: The pitch. Tapped foul to the right.
- 3:52Speaker 13: 0-2.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Outfield. Outfield.
- 4:02Speaker 11: Toward the right field and fairly deep for Jared Young. Batting. 254,
- 4:07Speaker 11: seven homers, 21 RBIs. Left-handed hitter. Yoho is ready. Here
- 4:17Speaker 11: it comes. And Young breaks his bat, pops it up.
- 4:25Speaker 11: The second baseman, Hanau, in on the grass. Let it drop.
- 4:29Speaker 11: Then lobs it. to second to get the force on
- 4:33Speaker 11: Simeon so Young will be the runner at first and
- 4:40Speaker 11: Simeon is forced out at second with Hanau not catching
- 4:44Speaker 11: the pop up on the grass there was no way
- 4:52Speaker 11: you were going to get two and Hanau knowing you
- 4:58Speaker 11: would think that Young is slower than Simeon Elected to
- 5:03Speaker 11: do that.
- 5:03Speaker 5: You don't normally see that from a young.
- 5:06Speaker 11: Man in his second major league game.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 5:10Speaker 11: So the force of Simeon at second. Young on, fielder's choice,
- 5:15Speaker 11: one down. And the catcher, Luis Terenz at the plate,
- 5:20Speaker 11: takes low. Terenz came into the series with two home runs.
- 5:25Speaker 11: And he's hit a three-run homer the other night and
- 5:28Speaker 11: a two-run homer today. Righty-righty matchup. Runner goes. Pitch is
- 5:35Speaker 11: taking a strike. Throw to second. No one's there.
- 5:39Speaker 14: Hanao caught the ball, but he was 10 feet behind
- 5:43Speaker 14: the bag at second.
- 5:46Speaker 11: And Young has the stolen base. Patrick Bailey threw to second,
- 5:52Speaker 11: and by the time Hanao got there, he was still
- 5:55Speaker 11: well behind the head first sliding Young.
- 6:02Speaker 15: The pitch.
- 6:04Speaker 11: Way outside. Backhanded grab by Bailey. So the Mets up 6-5.
- 6:09Speaker 11: They've got a runner in scoring position. One down here
- 6:12Speaker 11: in the 7th. Terrence with a 2-1 count. Outfield playing
- 6:17Speaker 11: him like a left-handed pull hitter.
- 6:19Speaker 5: The pitch. Way outside again. 3-1.
- 6:24Speaker 11: Guardians and PNC Bank. Going to bat for small business.
- 6:28Speaker 11: PNC Bank honoring six local businesses that make a difference.
- 6:33Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 6:35Speaker 11: Swung on. Hit high. Deep to right. Toward the corner.
- 6:38Speaker 11: DeLauder has it go off the wall.
- 6:41Speaker 5: It's a fair ball.
- 6:42Speaker 11: He'll throw it into second. Young thought that ball might
- 6:46Speaker 11: be caught. He just got to third. And boy did
- 6:51Speaker 11: Terrence hit that a long way. Down the right field
- 6:55Speaker 11: line it kept slicing off the wall in the corner.
- 7:01Speaker 11: May have even hit off the yellow line that indicates
- 7:05Speaker 11: fair or foul. And it goes as a long single
- 7:11Speaker 11: and Mets at the corner.
- 7:13Speaker 5: It's A.J.
- 7:13Speaker 11: Ewing the batter. Infield in. Mets up a run. First
- 7:19Speaker 11: and third occupied. One down. Ewing pinched it. Grounded out
- 7:24Speaker 11: is the only time up. Now let's see if the
- 7:28Speaker 11: Mets believe in a safety squeeze like Cleveland does time
- 7:33Speaker 11: and again. The pitch to the rookie Ewing. He bunts
- 7:38Speaker 11: right at the plate. Field it. Fair ball. Fake throw
- 7:41Speaker 11: to second by Bailey. Throws to first. And he gets Ewing.
- 7:46Speaker 11: And runners now at second and third. Third base coach
- 7:50Speaker 11: arguing that was a foul ball, but the ball was
- 7:53Speaker 11: bunted right out in front of the plate. Andy Green's
- 7:57Speaker 11: out arguing with John Bacon, the home plate umpire. And
- 8:02Speaker 11: Bailey fielded that with his bare hand as it bounced
- 8:07Speaker 11: up to him out in front of home plate on
- 8:10Speaker 11: the safety squeeze by Ewing. He just didn't bunt it
- 8:13Speaker 11: far enough. Nets are going to lose this argument. And
- 8:18Speaker 11: Ewing is out at first. Mets at second and third now,
- 8:22Speaker 11: but they're attuning out. The Mets are saying that ball
- 8:31Speaker 11: hit in front of the plate and then bounced back
- 8:34Speaker 11: over the plate, behind the plate, but John Bing and
- 8:39Speaker 11: the home plate umpire said no. Home plate is fair territory,
- 8:44Speaker 11: and Bailey got it while it was above the plate.
- 8:48Speaker 11: Top of the order, Francisco Lindor looks at a strike.
- 8:52Speaker 5: So that was bizarre.
- 8:55Speaker 11: Lindor with runners at second and third, two down. Six
- 9:00Speaker 11: to five Mets in the seventh. The pitch and a
- 9:04Speaker 11: check swing foul and he's down in the count of two. Lindor,
- 9:09Speaker 11: one for four today in the series. One for 14
- 9:15Speaker 11: with eight strikeouts. Lindor switch hitter, batting left-handed. Terrence at second,
- 9:25Speaker 11: Young at third. Two down in the match, seventh, and
- 9:29Speaker 11: the sun is back out. Huge spot for Yoho to
- 9:37Speaker 11: see if he can get out of it.
- 9:38Speaker 5: He delivers.
- 9:39Speaker 11: Lindor with a high drive, deep right field, and is
- 9:43Speaker 11: way out of here. On an 0-2 pitch, Francisco Lindor
- 9:48Speaker 11: with a towering three-run homer to right. And the Mets
- 9:54Speaker 11: open it up and now lead it 9-5. Lindor's tenth.
- 10:00Speaker 11: home run giving him 28 RBIs a frustrating series for
- 10:05Speaker 11: Lindor until that at bat and Yoho has given up
- 10:11Speaker 11: runs for the first time in a Cleveland uniform and
- 10:17Speaker 11: the Mets Came in near one of the worst offenses
- 10:21Speaker 11: in baseball, and they have scored 21 runs off Cleveland's
- 10:27Speaker 11: pitching in three games. Here's Bo Bichette, and he fouled
- 10:31Speaker 11: it upstairs, strike one. Lindor on an 0-2 pitch, got
- 10:36Speaker 11: a hanging changeup. Looked like he might have even been
- 10:40Speaker 11: out on his front foot, but he still hit a
- 10:43Speaker 11: towering three-run home run to right. And the Mets up 9-5.
- 10:48Speaker 11: Bichette with a foul ball out of play to the right.
- 10:51Speaker 11: And it's quickly 0-2. And the Mets have hit three
- 10:58Speaker 11: home runs in all three games.
- 11:03Speaker 5: The pitch. Bichette takes up.
- 11:07Speaker 15: It's 1-2.
- 11:16Speaker 11: Now the one-two delivery. Swing and a miss. Yoho gets Bichette.
- 11:22Speaker 11: But Lindor got Yoho. It's stretch time at the corner
- 11:27Speaker 11: of Carnegie and Ontario.
- 11:28Speaker 5: It's New York.
- 11:29Speaker 11: 9, Cleveland 5 on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 11:34Speaker 3: This is the call of the Australian rubber bird.
- 11:37Speaker 11: Snap!
- 11:38Speaker 16: Snap!
- 11:40Speaker 3: This is the call of the Alaskan chili bird. And
- 11:47Speaker 3: this is the call of the marathon mascot bald eagle, Max.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Hi, it's Max.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Hello.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Did you know you can save up to a dollar
- 11:54Speaker 5: a gallon with.
- 11:54Speaker 4: The Marathon Rewards app?
- 11:56Speaker 8: No.

- 12:05Speaker 11: Swung on line toward the gap and left center, Kwon dives.
- 12:08Speaker 5: And made the catch! What a play by Kwon!
- 12:13Speaker 11: Stephen Kwon just keeps on delivering.
- 12:16Speaker 5: This is Stephen Kwon.
- 12:17Speaker 7: You're listening to the Cleveland Clinic Guardians Radio Network.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Need new tires? Here's a tip.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Skip the good old kick for quality entirely. Get to

- 12:39Speaker 5: And the kicker?
- 12:40Speaker 3: Your Ford dealer often has deals that beat dedicated tire shops.
- 12:44Speaker 3: So when it's time for new tires, roll with your
- 12:47Speaker 3: Northeast Ohio Ford dealer.
- 12:51Speaker 17: Okay, you say, I want some breakfast. Your so-called boyfriend says,
- 12:56Speaker 17: we got eggs in the fridge. Obviously, when you say breakfast,
- 13:00Speaker 17: you mean McDonald's. Definitely a side-eye situation.
- 13:05Speaker 7: It's back, and it's delicious.
- 13:08Speaker 18: For a limited time, get a sausage McMuffin with egg,
- 13:10Speaker 18: hash browns, and a small hot coffee for just $ 5.
- 13:13Speaker 18: Only at McDonald's. Price and participation may vary. Cannot be
- 13:16Speaker 18: combined with any other offer or combo meal.
- 13:18Speaker 15: Ba-da-ba-ba-ba.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Hey, it's Ron Furb. I'm not holding back, ever, after
- 13:24Speaker 5: Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 13:30Speaker 11: Right hander, Kodai Senga. On to pitch for the Mets,
- 13:34Speaker 11: who now lead it 9-5. We're in the bottom of
- 13:37Speaker 11: the seventh. Senga pitched on Tuesday night. Worked a scoreless inning.
- 13:43Speaker 11: He had been in the rotation. Not anymore.
- 13:47Speaker 14: 0-8 with an 8-47 ERA this year. And he walks
- 13:52Speaker 14: almost a batter in any. Jose Ramirez batting left-handed. Hits
- 13:56Speaker 14: the first pitch on the ground to second. Marcus Simeon
- 13:59Speaker 14: throws him out. Ramirez today with a walk, a single,
- 14:03Speaker 14: one for three now. Here's Nathaniel Lowe.
- 14:06Speaker 11: He got the club back in the game with a
- 14:09Speaker 11: 413-foot line drive home.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Run to right.
- 14:15Speaker 11: Back in the fifth inning. I mean, that ball never
- 14:19Speaker 11: got much off the ground. It didn't have to. A
- 14:23Speaker 11: laser deep into the seats and right. His first with Cleveland,
- 14:27Speaker 11: 13th on the year. And he takes a strike on
- 14:31Speaker 11: the outer edge. That made it 6-5 in the fifth.
- 14:35Speaker 11: Now it's 9-5 Mets. Sengup out of Japan, like all
- 14:41Speaker 11: of them, throws so many pitches. There's a pitch low.
- 14:45Speaker 11: These Japanese pitchers just have an absolute toolbox of pitches.
- 14:52Speaker 11: Now the 1-1 delivery to Lowe. And it's Lowe. Lowe,
- 15:01Speaker 11: it's called a strike, kind of a late call. Boy,
- 15:04Speaker 11: Nathaniel Lowe now has come here to Cleveland and in
- 15:07Speaker 11: this series has four hits, four RBIs. So he has
- 15:12Speaker 11: certainly made his presence felt. Now the 1-2 delivery and
- 15:18Speaker 11: Lowe takes high and wide 2-2. That's 98 miles an hour.
- 15:29Speaker 11: Senga is getting a lot more velocity when he's working
- 15:34Speaker 11: and ending out of the bullpen than when he started.
- 15:37Speaker 11: The 2-2 to Lowe. Smung on popped up into the
- 15:42Speaker 11: seats behind the plate and the count stays 2-2. Made
- 15:47Speaker 11: in America means something to Toyota. They've invested $ 49 billion,
- 15:53Speaker 11: built 32 million vehicles here in the U.S. Toyota, let's
- 15:58Speaker 11: go places. The 2-2. And Lowe takes outside. That might
- 16:09Speaker 11: have been his forkball. Kind of acts like a change-up
- 16:13Speaker 11: moving down and away. To the left handed hitter. Full
- 16:18Speaker 11: count now.
- 16:22Speaker 5: The payoff.
- 16:26Speaker 11: Swung and pulled foul. First base side.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Will do it again. At three and two. The payoff.
- 16:55Speaker 11: Fouled off left side. He's throwing a couple of fork
- 16:59Speaker 11: balls at him. And then he comes with a 97-mile-an-hour fastball.
- 17:06Speaker 11: And Lowe doing a good job. He awaits pitch number
- 17:11Speaker 11: seven of the at-bat. Here it comes. Swing and a miss.
- 17:21Speaker 11: Got the high fastball by him. He tried to hold
- 17:23Speaker 11: up but couldn't. Ten strikeouts for Mets pitching today. Two
- 17:27Speaker 11: down here. Angel Martinez had a two-run single in the first.
- 17:32Speaker 11: Cleveland led this game 2-0. On the bases loaded. Two-run
- 17:36Speaker 11: single in the first by Angel Martinez. But the Mets
- 17:40Speaker 11: get to Foster Griffin for five runs in the four
- 17:45Speaker 11: innings he worked to turn that around.
- 17:47Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 17:49Speaker 11: And it's in there. Marcus Semien, solo homer to left
- 17:53Speaker 11: center in the second. Later in the inning, Luis Terenz,
- 17:57Speaker 11: two-run homer to right. Carson Bench, RBI triple in the third,
- 18:01Speaker 11: plus a sack fly made it 5-2. Check swing by Martinez.
- 18:06Speaker 11: Went around on a fork ball in the dirt.
- 18:08Speaker 12: 0-2.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Mets made it 6-2 in the fifth.
- 18:21Speaker 11: On an RBI single by pinch hitter Jared Young. Nathaniel
- 18:25Speaker 11: Lowe then hit his three-run rip job to right in
- 18:28Speaker 11: the fifth to make it six to five Mets. And
- 18:32Speaker 11: then Francisco Lindor on a two-out, two-strike changeup. Plowed a
- 18:38Speaker 11: three-run home run into the seats and right here in
- 18:42Speaker 11: the seventh. And the Mets up nine to five. Two outs,
- 18:46Speaker 11: nobody on. Martinez with an 0-2 count. Sangup with the delivery.
- 18:58Speaker 11: Swing and a miss.
- 18:59Speaker 5: So we'll go to the eighth, nine to five minutes.
- 19:05Speaker 5: It's great to catch up, Jamie. How's business?
- 19:09Speaker 4: Good.
- 19:09Speaker 19: Are you up to speed with the new beneficial ownership
- 19:12Speaker 19: reporting requirements?
- 19:14Speaker 5: Sort of. What's it about?
- 19:16Speaker 19: It's a new initiative to help fight crimes like money laundering, fraud,
- 19:19Speaker 19: and drug trafficking. A lot of small businesses like ours
- 19:23Speaker 19: are just have to report some basic info to the
- 19:26Speaker 19: federal government about the.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Real people behind them.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Does that include my cafe?
- 19:30Speaker 19: There are some exemptions for certain companies, but don't worry.
- 19:34Speaker 19: There's lots of guidance on the government's website about who
- 19:37Speaker 19: needs to file. Check out FinCEN.gov slash BOI.
- 19:43Speaker 7: Filing is easy and free.
- 19:44Speaker 13: It took me less.
- 19:45Speaker 20: Than 20 minutes.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Looks like I do have to file. Thanks, Jamie. It's
- 19:50Speaker 5: great having a supportive business community.
- 19:52Speaker 13: Reporting beneficial ownership information helps protect U.S.
- 19:55Speaker 11: National security.
- 19:56Speaker 21: Filing is quick, secure, and free.
- 19:58Speaker 7: And it's the law.
- 19:59Speaker 21: Learn more at FinCEN.gov slash BOI.
- 20:03Speaker 9: Retirement can be scary, but only if you're not prepared.
- 20:06Speaker 9: That's why AARP created ThisIsPretirement.org.
- 20:11Speaker 7: Because unless you've already retired, you're in pretirement.

- 20:36Speaker 10: my truck, I'll remember to check my mirrors for smaller vehicles.
- 20:39Speaker 10: And when you're on the road, try to avoid lingering
- 20:41Speaker 10: in my blind spots. Let's all plan to share the
- 20:44Speaker 10: road safely. Visit www.sharetheroadsafely.gov.
- 20:49Speaker 5: Hey, it's Ron Furb. Big stories, big opinions, after Cardians
- 20:52Speaker 5: baseball on 570 WKBN. Slade Ciccone coming on.
- 21:02Speaker 11: He worked in the ballgame out of the bullpen for
- 21:04Speaker 11: the first time in a Cleveland uniform. Tuesday night gave
- 21:08Speaker 11: up a run in two and two-thirds. Fastball sinker, cutter, curve, slider.
- 21:16Speaker 11: He'll take over now. Cleveland down four in the eighth.
- 21:22Speaker 11: Luis Robert cuts and misses. Craig Yoho, one inning, gave
- 21:26Speaker 11: up three runs on three hits. Francisco Lindor, the big
- 21:30Speaker 11: three-run homer. 9-5 Mets. They've on-hit Cleveland today.
- 21:34Speaker 5: 14-8.
- 21:36Speaker 11: The pitch. Swing and a miss. Good slider. And the
- 21:42Speaker 11: count 0-2. Marathon knows you fans are the true co-pilot
- 21:48Speaker 11: of any team. Marathon's here to keep you and your
- 21:51Speaker 11: team fueled all summer long. Marathon driven together. Mets looking
- 21:57Speaker 11: for the sweep.
- 22:00Speaker 15: The 0-2.
- 22:04Speaker 11: Checked on a pitch wide. One ball, two strikes. Cleveland
- 22:08Speaker 11: has not been two games under. 500 all year, but
- 22:13Speaker 11: they'll need a big-time rally to avoid that here today.
- 22:18Speaker 11: That pitch down. And the count. Two and two. The
- 22:30Speaker 11: next offering. Swung on, chopped toward third. Fair ball right
- 22:36Speaker 11: over the bag.
- 22:38Speaker 14: Slipping after he backhanded it was Ramirez, and he never
- 22:41Speaker 14: got a throw off.
- 22:42Speaker 11: It wouldn't have mattered. He wasn't going to get him.
- 22:45Speaker 11: Mosey playing deep. Had to go to the line to
- 22:48Speaker 11: field it. And then his feet started to slide under him.
- 22:52Speaker 11: Infield hit for Robert. He's had a three-hit game. Carson
- 22:58Speaker 11: bends the batter. Two for four. RBI triple and a single.
- 23:05Speaker 11: All three games, the Mets have had three home runs
- 23:08Speaker 11: in each game. That pitch is in their strike at 95.
- 23:12Speaker 11: The next offering goes to first, and back with a
- 23:27Speaker 11: dive is Roberts.
- 23:41Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 23:42Speaker 11: And it's ripped foul third base side sweet level.
- 23:46Speaker 12: 0-2.
- 23:48Speaker 11: The two-strike pitch. Checked outside.
- 24:06Speaker 5: 1-2.
- 24:08Speaker 11: Angels a 4-1 win in Baltimore today. And the Reds
- 24:14Speaker 11: knock off the A's 6-5. The 1-2. Again, fouled back
- 24:26Speaker 11: and out of play. We'll do it again at 1-2.
- 24:29Speaker 11: Brewers lead the Pirates 3-2 in the fifth. Blue Jays
- 24:34Speaker 11: lead the Cubs 1-0 in the fourth. Mets, nine runs,
- 24:40Speaker 11: 15 hits. Guardians, five runs, eight hits. We're in the eighth.
- 24:45Speaker 11: The next delivery is again fouled upstairs. What an event
- 24:50Speaker 11: by a really good-looking rookie. This is one of the
- 24:54Speaker 11: best rookies we've seen against Cleveland this year, Carson Bench.
- 25:00Speaker 11: He can do it all. He's literally a five-tool player.
- 25:07Speaker 11: Now the one-two. A swing and a liner to left.
- 25:12Speaker 11: He gets a base hit the other way. Three-hit game
- 25:16Speaker 11: for Carson Bench. Eloise Robert stops at second. Here's Francisco Alvarez.
- 25:24Speaker 11: 0 for 2 with a couple of walks. Right-hander against right-hander.
- 25:30Speaker 11: See if Alvarez is swinging away. The Mets play some
- 25:33Speaker 11: small ball to try to tack on to the 9-5
- 25:36Speaker 11: advantage here in the eighth. Cleveland playing back. And a
- 25:48Speaker 11: swing and a miss by Alvarez. Never know when you've
- 25:51Speaker 11: got an interim manager like Andy Green coming out of
- 25:54Speaker 11: the front office. Sometimes you'll see some different.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Strategy.
- 26:01Speaker 11: The 0-1. In their strike. It's not like the Mets
- 26:07Speaker 11: bullpen is a lockdown bullpen. Remember they traded six pieces
- 26:11Speaker 11: away from that Mets bullpen. And they were some really
- 26:14Speaker 11: good pieces. Now the 0-2 and again Alvarez just before
- 26:22Speaker 11: it's going to be made steps out. Now the two
- 26:35Speaker 11: strike pitch. Up high off the glove of Bailey to
- 26:39Speaker 11: the backstop. Runners advance. We'll see how that's scored. Second
- 26:46Speaker 11: and third now with nobody out. Cleveland keeps the infield back.
- 27:03Speaker 11: Down four here in the eighth. Here's the one-two. Filed
- 27:11Speaker 11: it back at Alvarez. Still a 1-2 count. Finally getting
- 27:27Speaker 11: an official call. It's a wild pitch.
- 27:31Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 27:32Speaker 11: Alvarez with a drive towards deep left. And this ball
- 27:36Speaker 11: is off the wall. On his way to second, Alvarez
- 27:41Speaker 11: in standing with an RBI double.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Roberts scored.
- 27:44Speaker 11: Benz kind of got deked out by Martinez who acted
- 27:48Speaker 11: like he would catch it and at the last moment
- 27:51Speaker 11: turned and played the carom. And instead of both runners
- 27:55Speaker 11: who should have scored on a double, only an RBI
- 28:00Speaker 11: for Alvarez. Runners stay at second and third. Still nobody out.
- 28:05Speaker 11: Mets now lead at 10-5. The pitch, a swing and
- 28:13Speaker 11: a foul back. Boy, Marcus Simeon had a good cut there. Again,
- 28:27Speaker 11: infield back, 10-5 Mets, the pitch, and it's in there, 0-2.
- 28:45Speaker 11: The 0-2 delivery. Fouled it back. Boy, you would have
- 28:50Speaker 11: thought after the deadline on Monday, Cleveland getting such a,
- 28:56Speaker 11: not only shot of energy, but four quality pieces added
- 29:03Speaker 11: to this club. The Mets gutted their club, traded away
- 29:08Speaker 11: a third of it, the pitch, up and in. One
- 29:12Speaker 11: and two, you thought maybe the Mets might come in
- 29:14Speaker 11: here and Just kind of go through the motions. But
- 29:19Speaker 11: they have really been aggressive. They have played well. They've
- 29:23Speaker 11: really hit well. They're on the verge of a sweep.
- 29:27Speaker 11: The pitch downstairs. Ball two. Two and two.
- 29:32Speaker 5: And when the all-star.
- 29:32Speaker 11: Break ended, Cleveland had the easiest schedule left in baseball.
- 29:38Speaker 11: When you talked about the playoff contention. but it's not
- 29:41Speaker 11: turned out that way. Cleveland about to be 6-13 since
- 29:45Speaker 11: the break. Ciccone misses high, full count. Tim Heron up
- 29:52Speaker 11: in the Cleveland pen. Now Ciccone now is getting used
- 29:56Speaker 11: to a new routine. He's Been a long time since
- 30:00Speaker 11: he pitched like this. Bullpen, Tuesday night, right back, day
- 30:05Speaker 11: and a half later. The payoff pitch. Swung on, fouled
- 30:11Speaker 11: into the seats behind the plate. And he's just having
- 30:14Speaker 11: a tough time putting away hitters with two strikes. And
- 30:18Speaker 11: he's already at 23 pitches to the four batters he's faced.
- 30:23Speaker 11: Mets lead at 10-5. They have runners at second and third,
- 30:27Speaker 11: nobody out in the eighth. And a 3-2 count on Simeon.
- 30:32Speaker 11: The payoff. Swung on, lifted in the air. Foul, third
- 30:39Speaker 11: base seating area. And we'll do it again at 3-2.
- 30:43Speaker 11: And boy, these Mets are not giving away at bats either.
- 30:47Speaker 11: They are grinding out at bats. This will be pitch
- 30:49Speaker 11: number nine to Marcus Simeon.
- 30:55Speaker 5: Here it comes. Up and in. He walked him.
- 31:01Speaker 11: Bases are loaded for Jared Young. And that may be
- 31:04Speaker 11: all for Slade Ciccone. As they're loaded up here with
- 31:09Speaker 11: nobody down. And a left-hander Jared Young due up.
- 31:13Speaker 8: Nope.
- 31:14Speaker 11: It's pitching coach Carl Willis heading to the mound. So
- 31:17Speaker 11: Ciccone is going to stay out there a little bit longer.
- 31:25Speaker 14: With Slade Ciccone so much of this move to the bullpen.
- 31:29Speaker 14: Is how he handles it mentally. And he was talking
- 31:32Speaker 14: to him after his first appearance. He was excited about
- 31:35Speaker 14: the possibilities. Obviously doing what he can to help the
- 31:39Speaker 14: ball club. But he felt his stuff had ticked up
- 31:41Speaker 14: a little bit.
- 31:42Speaker 5: You're right.
- 31:43Speaker 14: That different routine certainly can be a challenge for him.
- 31:46Speaker 14: And he has seen the challenges here today. So it's
- 31:58Speaker 14: a brief meeting.
- 32:03Speaker 5: 10-5.
- 32:05Speaker 11: The Mets have the lead. They have the bases loaded.
- 32:08Speaker 11: Nobody out in the eighth. Jared Young, the batter, came
- 32:12Speaker 11: off the bench. He's one for two with an RBI single.
- 32:15Speaker 11: Infield double play depth. The pitch way outside. Ball one.
- 32:31Speaker 5: The 1-0. Corner strike, one and one.
- 32:36Speaker 14: That's why this game is so impossible to predict.
- 32:41Speaker 11: Foster Griffin struck out the side in the first inning
- 32:45Speaker 11: here today in his Cleveland debut. And Cleveland had a
- 32:49Speaker 11: two-nothing lead after one. It's been about the highlight of
- 32:53Speaker 11: today's game. The pitch, up and away ball, two, two
- 32:57Speaker 11: and one. The 2-1 delivery. High 3-1. Ciccone looks very
- 33:14Speaker 11: frustrated right now. This is pitch number 30 and this
- 33:25Speaker 11: has got to be his last hit. Here it comes.
- 33:30Speaker 11: Ball four high and wide. Young walks and the base
- 33:34Speaker 11: is loaded. 11-5 Mets. We'll have a pitching change and
- 33:39Speaker 11: we'll be back.
- 33:40Speaker 20: Is your roof protecting your home or putting it at risk?

- 35:12Speaker 5: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 35:14Speaker 5: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN. 26,764 disappointed on
- 35:30Speaker 5: this warm, muggy day on the lakefront. Cleveland's 2-0 lead
- 35:37Speaker 5: is now an 11-5 deficit, and the Mets still have
- 35:41Speaker 5: the bases loaded, nobody out in the eighth. The left-hander Tim.
- 35:45Speaker 11: Heron to face Luis Torres, who's had an incredible series,
- 35:51Speaker 11: a two-run homer today, a three-run homer the other night.
- 35:55Speaker 11: The pitch, Terrence takes it to the ball outside. Heron's
- 36:00Speaker 11: 46th outing, ERA 375. The pitch, way high and outside, 2-0.
- 36:15Speaker 11: Alvarez at third, Semien at second, Young at first. Aaron fastball, sinker, curve, slider.
- 36:25Speaker 11: He fires. High and wide.
- 36:27Speaker 23: 3-0.
- 36:41Speaker 5: The pitch. Ball four.
- 36:43Speaker 11: High and wide. None of them close. Another bases loaded walk.
- 36:48Speaker 11: Third run in.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Alvarez scores.
- 36:52Speaker 11: Give Terrence his third RBI today, seven in the series.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Mets up 12-5.
- 37:01Speaker 11: The Mets now, in today's game, have 17 hits and
- 37:11Speaker 11: six walks, 23 base runners. In eight innings. And it's
- 37:16Speaker 11: not over yet. Here's A.J.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Ewing.
- 37:18Speaker 11: Left on left. 0 for 2. Cuts and misses. Strike one.
- 37:32Speaker 11: Aaron sets and fires. Strike on the outer edge. 0
- 37:37Speaker 11: and 2. The next pitch outside, 1-2. Maybe a first
- 37:53Speaker 11: time Cleveland's ever had two Indiana Hoosiers on the same
- 37:59Speaker 11: pitching staff. Tim Herron and Craig Yoho. The 1-2. Outside
- 38:06Speaker 11: and low, 2-2. And they'll probably both get sweets on
- 38:15Speaker 11: the road. because of Jared Jones' affinity for the Hoosiers
- 38:20Speaker 11: growing up just south of Bloomington. Now the 2-2. Check, swing, foul,
- 38:26Speaker 11: and down goes Ewing. That ball was up and in,
- 38:31Speaker 11: and he checked his swing and lucky to get a
- 38:34Speaker 11: bat on it.
- 38:36Speaker 5: Of course, J.J.
- 38:37Speaker 11: And his pops went to the Indiana football playoff games,
- 38:41Speaker 11: including the national championship games, so..
- 38:48Speaker 5: One way to get on J.J.
- 38:49Speaker 11: 's good side is wear candy striped pants to the
- 38:52Speaker 11: ballpark and sing the Hoosier fight song. Now the 2-2.
- 38:58Speaker 11: Got him swinging. Heron strikes out Ewing for the first
- 39:01Speaker 11: down in the inning. Bases stay loaded. One down eighth inning.
- 39:06Speaker 11: 12-5 Mets. And here's Francisco Lindor who may have pretty
- 39:13Speaker 11: much ended the game last inning. He had a two-out, two-strike,
- 39:17Speaker 11: three-run homer to right. He'll turn around and bat right-handed.
- 39:22Speaker 11: He is 2-4-5 today. And he takes way outside a ball.
- 39:42Speaker 11: Down the 1-0 pitch. A little bit high.
- 39:46Speaker 15: Ball 2, 2-0.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Heron's ready.
- 40:06Speaker 11: Here it comes. Way, way outside. Good snag by Bailey.
- 40:13Speaker 24: 3-0.
- 40:20Speaker 11: Well, the south side of Chicago. Old Comiskey Park ought
- 40:25Speaker 11: to be jumping this weekend. The 3-0 pitch. In there,
- 40:30Speaker 11: a strike. White Sox ballpark. It may even keep its
- 40:36Speaker 11: name for a couple of years, the way the White
- 40:38Speaker 11: Sox are playing. They would like to get a new ballpark.
- 40:46Speaker 11: Now the 3-1. And Lindor pops one up behind the plate.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Out of play.
- 40:53Speaker 11: Full count. The White Sox are stuck with a ballpark
- 40:57Speaker 11: that was pretty much a cookie cutter.
- 41:02Speaker 5: And it opened the..
- 41:04Speaker 11: Year before Camden Yards and once Camden Yards opened and
- 41:08Speaker 11: then Jacobs Field opened the White Sox were like you're
- 41:12Speaker 11: kidding me now the payoff pitch swing and a miss
- 41:18Speaker 11: Lindor strikes out for the second out in the inning
- 41:22Speaker 11: and the White Sox of course having just an incredible
- 41:25Speaker 11: season after back to back 100 loss seasons two years
- 41:31Speaker 11: ago a record 121 losses White Sox starting today, three
- 41:37Speaker 11: games ahead of Cleveland. They got better with deadline deals.
- 41:42Speaker 11: Should be a great atmosphere this weekend. Here's Bo Bichette.
- 41:46Speaker 11: He takes a strike on a fastball. Two down, bases loaded,
- 41:50Speaker 11: three runs in. Mets up 12-5 here in the eighth.
- 41:58Speaker 5: Now the 0-1.
- 42:01Speaker 11: Fouled off to the right side, hit the netting above
- 42:04Speaker 11: the Mets' dugout, then dropped into that dugout. Bichette starting
- 42:10Speaker 11: to get it going. He's had a good series. Now
- 42:22Speaker 11: the 0-2. Way outside. One ball, two strikes.
- 42:27Speaker 14: 12 runs, 17 hits for the Mets.
- 42:34Speaker 11: Cleveland, five runs, eight hits. Bases loaded, two down in
- 42:39Speaker 11: the eighth. The one-two. Swing and a foul at the plate. Bichette,
- 42:44Speaker 11: the ninth man to bat this inning for New York.
- 42:49Speaker 11: So you've got Lindor and Bichette. They've each had six
- 42:53Speaker 11: plate appearances today. Now the 1-2. Inside, it kicks away
- 43:06Speaker 11: from Patrick Bailey, but he recovers it right behind him.
- 43:10Speaker 11: Nobody can advance. Good stop by Bailey to get a
- 43:13Speaker 11: glove on that. Prevent another run from scoring on a
- 43:17Speaker 11: wild pitch. Heron fires. Swing and a foul back. Boy,
- 43:36Speaker 11: these Mets are not giving away a pass. The Shets
- 43:41Speaker 11: going to see at least seven pitches.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Here it comes.
- 43:58Speaker 11: And he taps one toward third. Fair ball. Fielded by Ramirez.
- 44:01Speaker 11: Long throw across the body. Not in time. RBI infield hit.
- 44:06Speaker 11: Ramirez deep at third. Did all he could. Going toward
- 44:10Speaker 11: the line to field it. But the Mets get their
- 44:12Speaker 11: fourth run in the inning. And the onslaught continues. 13-5
- 44:19Speaker 11: New York. They still have bases loaded. As Simeon scored,
- 44:26Speaker 11: Young to third, Terrence to second. Bichette with his 56th RBI.
- 44:33Speaker 11: And manager Stephen Vogt is going to go to catcher
- 44:38Speaker 11: Austin Hedges.
- 44:43Speaker 5: So Hedges will.
- 44:45Speaker 11: Come out of the dugout. Face the 10th man to
- 44:50Speaker 11: bat this inning. Brewers now lead the Pirates 5-2 in
- 45:05Speaker 11: the sixth. Blue Jays up on the Cubs 1-0 fifth
- 45:08Speaker 11: inning in Wrigley. Reds swept the Athletics 6-5. Angels dump
- 45:16Speaker 11: Baltimore 4-1. And here, Cleveland.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Had a 2-0 lead. They eventually..
- 45:28Speaker 11: Fell behind 6-2, made it 6-5, but now 13-5 Mets
- 45:35Speaker 11: as New York scored three in the seventh, four and
- 45:39Speaker 11: counting here in the eighth inning. And the guy that
- 45:42Speaker 11: started it off with an infield hit, Luis Robert, will
- 45:47Speaker 11: bat for the second time. Robert, three for five, three singles. Well,
- 46:21Speaker 11: it's not often you see a position player pitching in
- 46:25Speaker 11: the eighth inning. Hedges the set and the pitch, and
- 46:40Speaker 11: it's fouled back, strike one. The next pitch, in there,
- 46:52Speaker 11: called strike at 70 miles per hour. Now the 0-2.
- 47:01Speaker 11: Swing and a miss, struck out Robert on three pitches.
- 47:06Speaker 11: Standing ovation for Austin Hedges.
- 47:11Speaker 1: 13-5.
- 47:12Speaker 5: Mets, middle of the eighth.

- 49:00Speaker 5: Hey, it's Ron Burb and I'm taking on the stories
- 49:02Speaker 5: that actually matter. After Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 49:09Speaker 11: Well, former Clevelander, Zanian Curry, The right-hander got called up
- 49:16Speaker 11: after the Mets made all of those deadline deals. And
- 49:20Speaker 11: Xavier Curry, out of Georgia Tech, on to pitch the
- 49:25Speaker 11: eighth inning. With the Mets pummeling Cleveland.
- 49:31Speaker 8: 13-5.
- 49:32Speaker 11: The right-handers pitch, and Brian Rocchio batting left-handed takes the strike.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Rocchio, one for three. Curry uses the windup.
- 49:44Speaker 11: Here it comes. And it's down low, bouncing away, 1-1.
- 50:00Speaker 11: Curry into the motion. The 1-1 pitch.
- 50:05Speaker 5: A little bit low, 2-1. Cody Senga.
- 50:11Speaker 11: Had a 1-2-3 inning with a couple of strikeouts. Rookie
- 50:15Speaker 11: Nolan McClain gave up five runs in five innings, but
- 50:18Speaker 11: he'll get his eighth win.
- 50:20Speaker 5: The pitch.
- 50:21Speaker 11: And Rocio lofts one in the air. Shallow center. Luis
- 50:26Speaker 11: Robert Jr. will retire the Cleveland shortstop. Here's Petey Helton,
- 50:32Speaker 11: couple of singles and three trips. The kick and delivery.
- 50:54Speaker 11: And helping with a bounce to the first. Young grabs,
- 50:57Speaker 11: flips to Curry.
- 50:58Speaker 15: On the run.
- 50:59Speaker 5: Two down.
- 50:59Speaker 11: Let's pause for station ID on the Cleveland Clinic radio network.
- 51:05Speaker 24: From the Money Talks investment coach, John Arnold Studios, this
- 51:11Speaker 24: is 570 WKBN Youngstown, an iHeartRadio station guaranteed human.
- 51:19Speaker 11: Tommy Hamilton with you on a warm day on the lakefront,
- 51:23Speaker 11: along with Jim Rosenhouse, Brian Motze. Mets up 13-5, two
- 51:27Speaker 11: down in the eighth. Patrick Bailey, 0-3. The catcher takes
- 51:32Speaker 11: outside the ball. The next pitch, and Bailey skies one.
- 51:48Speaker 11: On the infield, near second. Lindor, the shortstop, makes the grab.
- 51:53Speaker 11: And we'll go to the ninth. 13-5 Mets on the
- 51:57Speaker 11: Cleveland Clinic Radio Network. Hey, it's Ron Verb.
- 52:02Speaker 5: I'm saying what everyone else won't after Guardians Baseball on
- 52:05Speaker 5: 570 WKBN.
- 52:13Speaker 11: Catcher Austin Hedges to pitch the ninth. And the first
- 52:17Speaker 11: pitch is swung on. Grounded to third by Carson Bench.
- 52:20Speaker 11: And Jose Ramirez throws him out. Edge has got the
- 52:25Speaker 11: final out in the eighth. Francisco Alvarez the batter. He's
- 52:33Speaker 11: one for three. An RBI double. Couple of walks. Edge
- 52:41Speaker 11: is delivering a strike. Well, if you're the home plate umpire,
- 52:46Speaker 11: John Bacon, Mets are out of challenges. So, this game
- 52:53Speaker 11: is realistically over. So, anything close, you better swing. Pitch
- 52:57Speaker 11: swung on. Bounced up the middle. Gloved by the shortstop.
- 53:01Speaker 11: And Rocio near second. Throws out Alvarez.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Two down.
- 53:05Speaker 11: Going to bring up Marcus Simeon. He's homered, doubled, singled, walked,
- 53:10Speaker 11: sack fly. A perfect day. Three for three. He's knocked
- 53:16Speaker 11: in a pair of runs. Needs a triple to hit
- 53:18Speaker 11: for the cycle. 13-5 Mets, and the pitch swung on.
- 53:23Speaker 11: High fly, shallow right, near the line. De Lauder makes
- 53:26Speaker 11: the catch. Austin Hentz has got four outs today on
- 53:31Speaker 11: seven pitches. And he gets another standing ovation.
- 53:36Speaker 5: 13-5 Mets, bottom of the ninth next.
- 53:40Speaker 20: Hi, Max the Bald Eagle from Marathon here.

- 55:25Speaker 5: Hey, it's Ron Burb, and my show is all about
- 55:27Speaker 5: the Valley after Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 55:38Speaker 11: 13-5 Mets, second inning of work for Xavier Curry. Angel
- 55:43Speaker 11: Hanau takes high and wide, ball one. Brett Beatty takes
- 55:47Speaker 11: over at third. Hanau had the four-hit game last night. Today, strikeout,
- 55:52Speaker 11: ground out, fly out. He'll swing it left-handed. The pitch,
- 55:56Speaker 11: and he ropes one to deep right field. This is
- 55:58Speaker 11: going to take a rocket shot off the wall. Karim
- 56:04Speaker 11: quickly got to Ben's. Big turn, but a smart play
- 56:07Speaker 11: by Hanau to hold it first. You don't get thrown
- 56:11Speaker 11: out at second, down eight. And the young man has
- 56:14Speaker 11: had five hits in his first two major league games.
- 56:17Speaker 11: He hit that ball so hard off the wall and right.
- 56:20Speaker 11: that he couldn't get two out of it because the
- 56:22Speaker 11: ricochet came right back to the right fielder, Carson Bench.
- 56:27Speaker 11: Top of the order, Joe Adele pinched it for Travis Pazana,
- 56:30Speaker 11: struck out the DH now. Righty-righty matchup, and he bangs
- 56:36Speaker 11: one foul outside of third, strike one. Cleveland's had nine
- 56:42Speaker 11: more hits today, so the Guardians in this series have
- 56:48Speaker 11: had 27 hits The pitch, way outside, reaching across his
- 56:59Speaker 11: body to backhand it, is Terren's ball one.
- 57:12Speaker 5: The one-one.
- 57:16Speaker 11: And it's fouled upstairs. One ball, two strikes on Adele.
- 57:37Speaker 11: The next offering, a little bit low. 2-2 the count.
- 57:53Speaker 5: The 2-2. Swung on this, a smoke to center.
- 57:57Speaker 14: Back goes Robert and reaches up and snags that line
- 58:01Speaker 14: drive just before he got to the warning track in
- 58:03Speaker 14: dead center.
- 58:06Speaker 11: So Adele a long first out. That'll bring up Chase DeLauder.
- 58:12Speaker 11: One for three, a single, a walk, two runs scored. Well,
- 58:19Speaker 11: with the White Sox throwing left-handers tomorrow night and Saturday night,
- 58:23Speaker 11: Joe Adele will without question be in the lineup. The
- 58:30Speaker 11: pitch now. Runner takes off indifference as it's low to DeLauder.
- 58:35Speaker 11: Hanao now at second. The pitch and it's swung and
- 58:50Speaker 11: banged up the middle. Base hit into center. Hanao around
- 58:54Speaker 11: third will score. And it's 13-6 Mets. But give Chase DeLauder.
- 59:00Speaker 11: An RBI single leads the club with 56 runs batted in.
- 59:10Speaker 11: And that'll bring up Jose Ramirez. Nope, beg your pardon.
- 59:15Speaker 11: Maybe all for Jose Ramirez feeling that, you know what,
- 59:19Speaker 11: with that still very, very sore left hand, why aggravate
- 59:24Speaker 11: it anymore with this game out of reach? So Reese
- 59:28Speaker 11: Hoskins will bat instead. Jose Ramirez today had a single
- 59:34Speaker 11: and a walk, was one for three. Hoskins leans back
- 59:39Speaker 11: from ball one. One out, one on, run in. Cleveland
- 59:50Speaker 11: down seven. The pitch, and it's down low, 2-0. Xavier
- 1:00:08Speaker 11: Curry is ready. He delivers. And it's swung on a
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: dribbler that bounces foul.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: Third base side.
- 1:00:17Speaker 12: 2-1.
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: Curry's ready. The 2-1. Checked on the pitch up 3-1.
- 1:00:53Speaker 11: Curry throws low 90s. He deals. And it's hit high
- 1:01:05Speaker 11: in the air. Fairly deep center. Robert drifting back. He'll
- 1:01:10Speaker 11: grab it. Hoskins out number 2. And Nathaniel Lowe will
- 1:01:14Speaker 11: bat one more time. Lowe's three-run line drive homer to right.
- 1:01:20Speaker 11: In the fifth inning, pulled Cleveland to within a run
- 1:01:23Speaker 11: at 6-5. And then the Mets took over with 3
- 1:01:27Speaker 11: in the 7th and 4 in the 8th.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: 13-6 New York.
- 1:01:32Speaker 11: Runner at first, 2 down, 9th inning. Lowe with a
- 1:01:37Speaker 11: home run and a single. Runner goes, pitches high, indifference.
- 1:01:42Speaker 11: Enabling DeLauder to go to second. Xavier Curry delivers. And
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: he missed outside. 2-0 on Nathaniel Lowe.
- 1:02:08Speaker 15: The 2-0.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: Little down, maybe a little in. 3-0. Down the 3-0 pitch.
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: And it's low.
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: He walked it.
- 1:02:29Speaker 11: So Timon aboard is low. We'll head to first. Mets
- 1:02:35Speaker 11: up 13-6. Angel Martinez had that two-run single. back in
- 1:02:41Speaker 11: the first inning, which was literally three hours ago.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: He's one for four. Two out, two on. 13-6, Mets.
- 1:02:56Speaker 11: Martinez batting left-handed, and he looks at ball one.
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: It's high. Curry's made 26 pitches, only 11 strikes. The 1-0.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: In there. And that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 11: Is what, for him, when he came into the game,
- 1:03:21Speaker 11: was an eight-run lead. Down the 1-1. And Martinez pops
- 1:03:33Speaker 11: it up. Foul behind the plate. Terenz has room. Makes
- 1:03:37Speaker 11: the catch. Game over. Mets sweep the Guardians. Winning today, 13-6.
- 1:03:42Speaker 11: Need a place for your next event?
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: It's Ron Ferb, and I've got opinions you'll want to hear.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: After Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 1:03:55Speaker 11: Well, we're back here in downtown Cleveland, and for the
- 1:03:58Speaker 11: first time this year, Cleveland is two games under.
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: 500.
- 1:04:01Speaker 11: Not a very good homestand against Arizona and the Mets.
- 1:04:05Speaker 11: That obviously is an understatement, as Cleveland won one of
- 1:04:11Speaker 11: the six games on this homestand, and they've got to
- 1:04:15Speaker 11: get this thing turned around, and turned around in a hurry,
- 1:04:18Speaker 11: because you step up in competition starting tomorrow night against
- 1:04:23Speaker 11: the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland getting swept by the New
- 1:04:26Speaker 11: York Mets. The one encouraging thing about this homestand, or
- 1:04:32Speaker 11: at least the three-game series after the deadline, maybe be
- 1:04:36Speaker 11: a little more specific, as Cleveland finally is starting to
- 1:04:41Speaker 11: get some traffic. They went 5-4-11 today with men in
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: scoring position. In the three ballgames, Cleveland had 43 at-bats
- 1:04:52Speaker 11: with men in scoring position. That's an average of 14
- 1:04:56Speaker 11: at-bats a game with a runner in scoring position, which
- 1:05:00Speaker 11: is pretty much unheard of. And obviously, the key now
- 1:05:04Speaker 11: is to capitalize on that and get better pitching because
- 1:05:09Speaker 11: things just Didn't click at all in this series, and
- 1:05:13Speaker 11: the Mets came in here and took it to Cleveland,
- 1:05:16Speaker 11: winning it today to get the sweep. Mets, 13 runs,
- 1:05:20Speaker 11: 18 hits, no errors, 11 left. Cleveland, 6 runs, 10 hits,
- 1:05:24Speaker 11: no errors, 8 men stranded. The rookie, Nolan McClain, got
- 1:05:28Speaker 11: the win. He's 8-7.
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: Foster Griffin, in his Cleveland debut, took the loss. He
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: is 12-4.
- 1:05:34Speaker 11: Time of the game, 3 hours, 2 minutes. And the attendance, 26,764.
- 1:05:42Speaker 11: Cleveland heads to Chicago, 57-59. Mets head to Pittsburgh, 50-66.
- 1:05:51Speaker 11: Rosie's got the wrap-up show. That'll come your way next.

- 1:08:02Speaker 14: in downtown Cleveland, where the Guardians lost today to the
- 1:08:06Speaker 14: Mets 13-6 as the Mets complete a three-game series sweep.
- 1:08:11Speaker 14: We will have the highlights and hear from manager Stephen
- 1:08:14Speaker 14: Vogt in just a little bit, but first a look
- 1:08:16Speaker 14: at our Northeast Ohio Ford dealers out-of-town scoreboard and a
- 1:08:21Speaker 14: spattering of play in the major leagues this afternoon on
- 1:08:24Speaker 14: a getaway day for many. The Brewers at home, they
- 1:08:27Speaker 14: lead the Pirates in the top half of the eighth
- 1:08:29Speaker 14: inning by a score of 5-2. Elsewhere at Wrigley Field,
- 1:08:34Speaker 14: the Blue Jays are shutting down the Cubs. It is
- 1:08:37Speaker 14: 1-0 Toronto. That game heading to the seventh inning at Wrigley.
- 1:08:42Speaker 14: They're underway out in Seattle, top of the first. The
- 1:08:45Speaker 14: Tigers and Mariners scoreless, and the rest of the action
- 1:08:49Speaker 14: is later on. Now, there was a couple of finals
- 1:08:52Speaker 14: from this afternoon. The Angels defeating the Orioles four to
- 1:08:56Speaker 14: one down at camden yards and it was the red
- 1:08:58Speaker 14: six the athletics five in cincinnati right here the mets
- 1:09:03Speaker 14: 13 the guardian six stay with us we'll have our
- 1:09:05Speaker 14: honda drive at home game summary after this time out
- 1:09:09Speaker 14: on the cleveland clinic radio network good wednesday morning everyone
- 1:09:15Speaker 14: Welcome back to Guardians wrap-up at Progressive Field. The Guardians
- 1:09:19Speaker 14: coming up short today again to the Mets. Third time
- 1:09:22Speaker 14: in a row to New York. 13-6 your final score
- 1:09:25Speaker 14: today on a day where it started promising. In the
- 1:09:28Speaker 14: bottom half of the first inning, after Foster Griffin in
- 1:09:32Speaker 14: his Guardians debut struck out the side in the top
- 1:09:34Speaker 14: half of the first, the Guardians got it going in
- 1:09:37Speaker 14: the bottom of the inning. Chase DeLauder and Jose Ramirez
- 1:09:40Speaker 14: with back-to-back walks with one away against Nolan McClain. one
- 1:09:44Speaker 14: of the top starters in baseball. Then Nathaniel Lowe with
- 1:09:47Speaker 14: a single. Lowe to the bases for Angel Martinez.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: Infield back, double play depth. The pitch. And a line
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: drive back up the middle into center. That's a base hit.
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: De Lauder scores. Ramirez scores. Lowe stops at second.
- 1:10:04Speaker 11: And there's the huge hit. Cleveland's been longing for, and
- 1:10:09Speaker 11: it's delivered by Angel Martinez. He rifles a two-run single
- 1:10:16Speaker 11: right back up the middle. And the Guardians not trying
- 1:10:20Speaker 11: to do too much here in the first inning. And
- 1:10:23Speaker 11: they have made McLean pay for two walks. As DeLauder
- 1:10:29Speaker 11: and Ramirez both walked, they have both scored. And Angel Martinez,
- 1:10:34Speaker 11: now 36 RBIs.
- 1:10:37Speaker 14: But the lead did not last on this day as
- 1:10:39Speaker 14: in the top half of the second inning, Marcus Simeon
- 1:10:42Speaker 14: with a solo home run, his 13th, put the Mets
- 1:10:45Speaker 14: on the board. And then later on in the inning,
- 1:10:46Speaker 14: Luis Torres with a two-run shot, his second in the series,
- 1:10:51Speaker 14: fourth on the season. That made it 3-2 New York.
- 1:10:54Speaker 14: The Mets added two more in the third inning on
- 1:10:57Speaker 14: an RBI triple from Carson Benj and a sack fly
- 1:11:00Speaker 14: from Simeon. That made it a 5-2 ball game. They
- 1:11:04Speaker 14: made it 6-2 on an RBI single from pinch hitter
- 1:11:08Speaker 14: Cameron Young. That was in the top half of the
- 1:11:12Speaker 14: fifth inning. Made it a 6-2 game. Now the Guardians
- 1:11:15Speaker 14: did show some life in the bottom half of the
- 1:11:16Speaker 14: fifth inning as they had a couple of men on
- 1:11:19Speaker 14: base with one out thanks to singles from De Lauder
- 1:11:22Speaker 14: and Ramirez setting the table for Nathaniel Lowe. The 3-1 pitch.
- 1:11:26Speaker 14: Swung on and blasted. High and deep right field. Home run,
- 1:11:32Speaker 14: Nathaniel Lowe. That is why he is here. A three-run
- 1:11:39Speaker 14: home run off the bat of Nathaniel Lowe. And just
- 1:11:42Speaker 14: like that, it's a one-run ball game. New York 6,
- 1:11:47Speaker 14: the Guardians 5. First home run in a Guardians uniform.
- 1:11:53Speaker 14: That did not take long for Nathaniel Lowe. And it
- 1:11:57Speaker 14: comes at a great time. But that was as close
- 1:12:01Speaker 14: as the Guardians got on this day as the Mets
- 1:12:04Speaker 14: would pull away with a three-run seven thanks to a
- 1:12:06Speaker 14: three-run home run from Francisco Lindor, his 10th home run
- 1:12:10Speaker 14: on the season. And then they scored four more times
- 1:12:13Speaker 14: in the eighth inning. An RBI double from Francisco Alvarez.
- 1:12:18Speaker 14: and two bases loaded walks as well, and an infield
- 1:12:21Speaker 14: single that brought in a run from Beau Bichette, and
- 1:12:23Speaker 14: that four-run inning put it away. The Guardians did score
- 1:12:26Speaker 14: a run in the bottom half of the ninth inning

- 1:15:12Speaker 14: The Mets a winner today to complete a three-game series sweep,
- 1:15:15Speaker 14: 13-6 your final score. Let's head downstairs and hear from
- 1:15:19Speaker 14: manager Stephen Vogt.
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: What did you make of Foster's first turn out of
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: the Mets game?
- 1:15:25Speaker 27: Yeah, I mean, obviously the stuff is really good. I
- 1:15:28Speaker 27: think that's what we saw. I thought a couple curveballs
- 1:15:31Speaker 27: got left up, you know, but Again, for the first
- 1:15:34Speaker 27: time seeing him pitch, I think it's really exciting. I
- 1:15:37Speaker 27: know he would have liked to have had a better
- 1:15:38Speaker 27: one his first time out with us, but obviously this
- 1:15:41Speaker 27: guy's been throwing the ball well all year. Just kind
- 1:15:44Speaker 27: of left a couple curveballs up that they didn't miss.
- 1:15:46Speaker 15: So he was going to call his own pitches. That
- 1:15:50Speaker 15: was something you would see doing that routinely with Washington?
- 1:15:52Speaker 27: Yeah, he said he'd been calling his own game for
- 1:15:54Speaker 27: the majority of the year, so we thought, why change that?
- 1:15:58Speaker 27: I don't think there was anything wrong with the mix.
- 1:16:00Speaker 27: I think just a couple pitches got left up, a
- 1:16:02Speaker 27: couple walks, and they made him pay.
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: He can't shake himself off. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:16:10Speaker 30: You guys are two games below 500 for the first
- 1:16:12Speaker 30: time since August last year. What's the vibe with this team?
- 1:16:18Speaker 27: Honestly, I think the vibes are really good. I think we're,
- 1:16:22Speaker 27: you know, this is the first three days with this
- 1:16:24Speaker 27: group together. And I think there's a lot of things
- 1:16:27Speaker 27: to be excited about. Obviously, we need to win some ballgames.
- 1:16:30Speaker 27: We're kind of in it right now. We haven't played
- 1:16:32Speaker 27: a complete game in, you know, in a little while.
- 1:16:34Speaker 27: So I think for us, it's get back to making
- 1:16:38Speaker 27: it happen. You know, I think that's the bottom line.
- 1:16:41Speaker 27: We just have to go make it happen, keep playing,
- 1:16:44Speaker 27: keep doing our thing. It's going to turn, and we're
- 1:16:46Speaker 27: going to make it turn.
- 1:16:48Speaker 14: So it's a feeling, I guess, you pitch well, those
- 1:16:51Speaker 14: are the nights you're not hitting, and when you hit well,
- 1:16:52Speaker 14: those are the nights you're not pitching.
- 1:16:54Speaker 27: It's kind of felt that way for a little while.
- 1:16:56Speaker 27: I mean, you know, played a great game on Sunday,
- 1:16:59Speaker 27: you know, and then the last three have been pretty tough.
- 1:17:01Speaker 27: You know, we've lost kind of three different ways. So, again,
- 1:17:04Speaker 27: I think the guys have been really excited. The guys
- 1:17:08Speaker 27: have been in really good spirits. And I think for us,
- 1:17:10Speaker 27: it's just time to go make it happen. And let's
- 1:17:13Speaker 27: start playing well and let's start winning ballgames.
- 1:17:17Speaker 30: What's it feel like going into Chicago, you know, playing
- 1:17:20Speaker 30: the way you guys are now with, you know, at
- 1:17:24Speaker 30: least a three-game deficit?
- 1:17:25Speaker 27: Yeah, I think obviously we wish we were in a
- 1:17:27Speaker 27: different position record-wise going into the weekend. But we get
- 1:17:30Speaker 27: three games with the people we're chasing. I think that's
- 1:17:32Speaker 27: the way we're looking at it. And they're obviously a
- 1:17:35Speaker 27: really good team, and so are we. So I think
- 1:17:39Speaker 27: the guys are going to have a lot of excitement
- 1:17:41Speaker 27: and a lot of energy going into tomorrow. We're really
- 1:17:43Speaker 27: good about turning the page from the day before. So
- 1:17:47Speaker 27: let's turn the page from this three-game series, and let's
- 1:17:50Speaker 27: get ready to win a series.
- 1:17:52Speaker 15: Over the weekend.
- 1:17:53Speaker 13: When you talk about you guys being really good and
- 1:17:55Speaker 13: having that mentality of being able to turn the page,
- 1:17:57Speaker 13: does that come from you?
- 1:17:59Speaker 31: Does that come from certain guys in the clubhouse who
- 1:18:00Speaker 31: really sets that tone at being able to have a
- 1:18:02Speaker 31: short memory?
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: I think it comes from the whole group.
- 1:18:04Speaker 27: You know, everybody that comes to work here is ready
- 1:18:07Speaker 27: to win every day. And, you know, again, the players,
- 1:18:12Speaker 27: the players lead that and then we support that. So
- 1:18:16Speaker 27: one tough series, isn't going to get us down. You know,
- 1:18:19Speaker 27: it's no secret. We know where we are in the,
- 1:18:22Speaker 27: you know, in the race, but we just need to
- 1:18:25Speaker 27: make it happen. We just need to go play better
- 1:18:27Speaker 27: and win games.
- 1:18:29Speaker 30: What's the disadvantage of playing a team like the Mets
- 1:18:33Speaker 30: that they simply, they hit the ball out of the park,
- 1:18:37Speaker 30: I think they got homered you 9-1, and you guys
- 1:18:41Speaker 30: got to, you know, like put two walks, three singles,
- 1:18:44Speaker 30: and you scored two runs.
- 1:18:46Speaker 27: We're just two very, you know, built very different, you know,
- 1:18:49Speaker 27: I think teams for us, we just have to play
- 1:18:51Speaker 27: our game. We can't worry about our opponent. We have
- 1:18:53Speaker 27: to know what they do and know their tendencies. But again,
- 1:18:56Speaker 27: that's a really good team over there. They got a
- 1:18:57Speaker 27: lot of talent. I know their record isn't indicative of it,
- 1:18:59Speaker 27: but we saw it. We saw what they can do.
- 1:19:02Speaker 27: You know, we made mistakes and they didn't miss them.
- 1:19:04Speaker 27: And that's what veteran hitters do. But our guys, I
- 1:19:08Speaker 27: was really pleased with the way we played offensively. Obviously,
- 1:19:11Speaker 27: we had some tough innings pitching-wise, but we're going to
- 1:19:14Speaker 27: be ready to go.
- 1:19:15Speaker 14: That is manager Steven Vogt following the 13-6 Mets win.
- 1:19:21Speaker 14: With the loss today, the Guardians now two games under
- 1:19:24Speaker 14: the 500 mark at 57-59. First time all year they've
- 1:19:26Speaker 14: been that far under 500. as they head into play
- 1:19:32Speaker 14: against the White Sox tomorrow night in Chicago. A 7.40
- 1:19:37Speaker 14: first pitch. We'll have it for you starting with Guardians
- 1:19:39Speaker 14: warm-up at 7.05. I want to thank the following people
- 1:19:44Speaker 14: for their help on today's broadcast. As always, back at
- 1:19:48Speaker 14: Command Center, Brian Motze and, of course, Tom Hamilton. This
- 1:19:52Speaker 14: is Jim Rosenhouse reminding you of the final score from
- 1:19:55Speaker 14: Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. The New York Mets, 13-1.
- 1:19:59Speaker 14: The Cleveland Guardians 6. Have a good night, everyone.
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: 100 years ago in..
- 1:20:05Speaker 16: Now, Ron Verb. On News Radio 570, WKBN.
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: Well, there you go. What a shellacking that was to
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: listen to, huh? News Radio 570, WKBN. It was... That
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: wasn't too pleasant now, was it, to pay attention to
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: that happening today? Anyway, good afternoon. 4.35 in the afternoon.
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: Ron Furb underway till 5. Legal show at 5. John
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: Arnold with Money Talks 6 to 7 tonight. So kind
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: of a short time to conversate here this afternoon. News
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: Radio 570 WKBN, and we welcome you to the broadcast.
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: You're on the air. Hey, Ron.
- 1:20:41Speaker 32: I'm going to take 30 seconds of your time. I, uh,
- 1:20:44Speaker 32: everybody's talking about, uh, everybody, everything concerning to socialism.
- 1:20:48Speaker 15: Yes.
- 1:20:48Speaker 32: Um, you know, we, we pretty much other than our healthcare, um, we,
- 1:20:54Speaker 32: everything we do is basically socialist, socialistic, uh, society, you know, society.
- 1:20:59Speaker 32: And when you talk about, you know, the police and
- 1:21:02Speaker 32: fire and our education, um, most of those things are all, uh, socialist, um, ideas. And, um,
- 1:21:11Speaker 32: so it, um, I don't know why, you know, I
- 1:21:13Speaker 32: just wanted to kind of bring that to, I don't think.
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: There's, I don't think there's socialist ideas at all. Socialism is,
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: it takes in many cases, personal property and personal achievements,
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: individuality away that says, Hey, yeah, it's just takes individuality away.
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: That's socialism paying taxes and to have a police department
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: or somebody plow your roads, that isn't socialism. That's paying
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: for government services to perform a duty that's much different
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: than the private sector. You know, Colin, there's not, it's
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: much different. That isn't socialism at all, having those services.
- 1:21:51Speaker 32: That's communism.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: That's what socialism is all about.
- 1:21:55Speaker 32: Property goes to everybody. You know, it is, you know, again,
- 1:22:00Speaker 32: there's certain points, but most of the things are, The
- 1:22:03Speaker 32: government does those things as far as when it comes
- 1:22:06Speaker 32: to plowing your roads and stuff like that, whether it's
- 1:22:10Speaker 32: federal or state or local. As far as communism, it's
- 1:22:14Speaker 32: really not that Horrible of an idea. You know, I'm
- 1:22:20Speaker 32: not a socialist. I don't mind some of the policies, but,
- 1:22:25Speaker 32: you know, communism is one thing I can sit here
- 1:22:27Speaker 32: and agree with you guys on. But to demonize that
- 1:22:30Speaker 32: is kind of, you know, I just want to throw
- 1:22:32Speaker 32: my point out there.
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: Well, demonize it. I mean, do you believe in personal responsibility?
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: Why is it that we should punish people? For for
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: putting the effort forth and saying, well, we got to
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: take from you in a socialist society and give it
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: to this person over here who hasn't done any of
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: that kind of stuff.
- 1:22:51Speaker 32: I mean, I agree with you that, you know, of course,
- 1:22:54Speaker 32: I all my life have taken responsibility of my my
- 1:22:58Speaker 32: actions and things I do. I don't I don't ask
- 1:23:00Speaker 32: you for many for anybody from anything. You know, the
- 1:23:02Speaker 32: problems I have, JJ, get down. The only thing that
- 1:23:05Speaker 32: I have issues with is, you know.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: Like USA.
- 1:23:11Speaker 32: When he took that away, Elon Musk took that away,
- 1:23:13Speaker 32: that affected a lot of people worldwide. You know, again,
- 1:23:15Speaker 32: I understand not giving money to, like, you know, the
- 1:23:18Speaker 32: Ukraine for taking care of people's you know, their paychecks
- 1:23:24Speaker 32: and stuff like that that we were doing under Biden,
- 1:23:28Speaker 32: that's one thing that I don't agree with. But when
- 1:23:30Speaker 32: you take it away from, you know, children that are
- 1:23:34Speaker 32: in Sudan and stuff like that, and a lot of
- 1:23:36Speaker 32: that money went to them. And, you know, that's some
- 1:23:40Speaker 32: of the issues I have. And again, I agree that
- 1:23:43Speaker 32: we've got to keep money at home. We've got to
- 1:23:44Speaker 32: take care of people at home. But, you know, again,
- 1:23:47Speaker 32: I can go with, you know, you look at the
- 1:23:50Speaker 32: policies that Trump's doing right now where he's making a
- 1:23:53Speaker 32: lot of money and some of those people that are
- 1:23:55Speaker 32: the elites. And there's people like you and me that are, well,
- 1:23:58Speaker 32: you're not struggling, you know, but people like myself and
- 1:24:01Speaker 32: my family and other families are struggling. But, no, I
- 1:24:05Speaker 32: don't believe, and I don't believe that, you know, people
- 1:24:08Speaker 32: that are on the dole, so to speak, those people,
- 1:24:11Speaker 32: they get caught eventually, Ron. Anybody who's sitting on their ass,
- 1:24:15Speaker 32: excuse me, sitting on their keister in their basement, they
- 1:24:19Speaker 32: get found out eventually. They can, you know, try to
- 1:24:23Speaker 32: do their... pull the strings, but then eventually they're going
- 1:24:26Speaker 32: to get caught. But as far as, you know, the USA,
- 1:24:30Speaker 32: we needed that, and people are struggling, people are dying
- 1:24:33Speaker 32: because of that, and I just have a problem with us,
- 1:24:37Speaker 32: you know, not demonizing, you know, Elon Musk is not
- 1:24:40Speaker 32: a very good guy, but I know you disagree with
- 1:24:42Speaker 32: me on that, but I'm going to let somebody else
- 1:24:44Speaker 32: take it because you don't have a short time, but
- 1:24:46Speaker 32: thanks for listening, buddy. I appreciate it.
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: Thank you. I just don't think everybody's problems should be
- 1:24:50Speaker 5: your problems. I mean, I listened to your dissertation, but
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: where is personal responsibility anymore? I mean, I can appreciate
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: each and everything that you just said to me, but
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: I don't agree with any of it. And I don't
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: think it makes America a better place to be to say, oh,
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: we're going to take from this person and we're going
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: to give it to this guy over here. I just
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: don't buy into any of that stuff, that nonsense. It
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: just doesn't make a lick of sense to me. But
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: it seems that there are those people who think that
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: that's the way to go. We shall see. You're on
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: the air. Did I do that right?
- 1:25:42Speaker 9: Hello?
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: Hello?
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: Hello?
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: I'll give you one more shot. Are you there? All right.
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: Not going to work out. Call back. We're underway here,
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: NewsRadio 570, WKBN, and Ron Furp, 440 here with you
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: for about 20 minutes until we go to the legal show. Comments, 330-729-9977.
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: We'll get you through to our phone bank, 330-729-9977. If
- 1:26:11Speaker 5: you want to conversate here this afternoon, I'm deeply disturbed
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: by all of these people who think democratic socialism is
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: the way to go, that that seems to be the
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: answer anymore these days. Oh, what's the answer? The answer
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: is We've got to have all this socialism and nonsense. Well,
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: I don't see that as the answer for this kind
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: of stuff. I'm listening to JJ go through with this craziness,
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: and it just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: I mean, if you don't have individual responsibility for people
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: where they have to be accountable for the decisions they make,
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: and all of a sudden it's everyone else's fault— for
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: your lot in life but not yours and everyone else
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: should have to pay for it it doesn't make a
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: lick of sense to me does it to you i
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: mean it just doesn't make a a bit of sense
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: and that's what it seems like guys like that want
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: to say well i can't help it the life isn't
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: fair you got to put some effort forth and sometimes
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't that's
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: just uh that's the way it goes we've always had
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: rich we've always had poor and we've always had everybody
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: in between. So what do you want to do about it?
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: And it seems that a large part of these people
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: that are Democrats think that we shouldn't, that shouldn't be
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: the case, that it should just be equal for this
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: whole socialism idea. And that party is going in that direction.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: And if you go in that direction, just seems to me,
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: the people who say it never works are making inaccurate statements.
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: Never seems like it does work, does it? I mean,
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: just based on What you see going on? Your comments welcome.
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: You're on air.
- 1:28:01Speaker 14: Hey, Ron.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:28:05Speaker 33: So you had a liberal call in.
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:28:09Speaker 33: And he said he's mad about USA not being funded.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:28:15Speaker 33: Well, what about the one Biden gave $ 182 billion to Ukraine? Well,
- 1:28:23Speaker 33: he wasn't bitching about that, was he? I bitch about that.
- 1:28:26Speaker 33: I bitch about the money going to USA. I bitch
- 1:28:29Speaker 33: about the money going to Iran. Just like you always said, Ron,
- 1:28:33Speaker 33: money's better in your pocket than somebody else's.
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: Well, it is your money. Let's start with the basic fundamentals, right?
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Yes, exactly.
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: I mean, whose money is it? It's yours that they're
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: taking from you. I say it time and time again.
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: It's the fruits of your labor. And it's your time.
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: The more government takes from you, the less you have
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: to enjoy from your earnings and what... It doesn't make
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: a lick of sense to me, does it to you?
- 1:29:01Speaker 33: No, absolutely not. That's why I said, you know, he
- 1:29:05Speaker 33: just said that, well, I'm upset about USAID and taking
- 1:29:09Speaker 33: that money away. No, that was my money, too. I'm
- 1:29:12Speaker 33: upset about I don't want now that gone. I want
- 1:29:14Speaker 33: USAID abolished. I want Iranian war abolished. I want Ukraine abolished.
- 1:29:19Speaker 33: I want the money going in our pockets like you
- 1:29:21Speaker 33: always tell everybody. And I want these people to quit
- 1:29:24Speaker 33: voting for these stupid levies. that make our tax dollars
- 1:29:27Speaker 33: go up. People just can't look in the mirror and
- 1:29:30Speaker 33: see any sense.
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: Boy, I tell you this much, I'm listening to you,
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: and you make a hell of a lot of sense
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: to me for what it's worth.
- 1:29:40Speaker 33: Exactly. I mean, you know, it's common sense. And, you know,
- 1:29:44Speaker 33: somebody says, well, how many degrees do you have? I says, well,
- 1:29:47Speaker 33: I have 10 degrees. I says, what are they in?
- 1:29:49Speaker 33: That's just common sense.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: Well, sometimes it seems to me it's lacking a lot
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: anymore these days, right? I mean, I say it often,
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: don't make your problems my problems. Your lot in life
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: isn't necessarily should be my problem. It's at what point
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: do you take personal responsibility for your own situation? That's
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: all I'm asking. At what point does that happen?
- 1:30:13Speaker 33: You're right. You're 100% right, Ron. What you preach out there,
- 1:30:17Speaker 33: I don't know why some people don't listen to you.
- 1:30:19Speaker 33: But they say, well, I don't have money to do this.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: Well, quit voting for all the levies.
- 1:30:23Speaker 33: Quit voting for stuff that you can't afford. Quit spending
- 1:30:27Speaker 33: money on what you can't afford. And quit electing politicians
- 1:30:31Speaker 33: that take your money and give your money to somebody else.
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: Exactly. Exactly. I'm right with you, my friends. You make
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: a world of sense to me. I appreciate your call.
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: That's all I have to say.
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: Thank you. All right. Thank you. All right. You're on
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: the air. Hello?
- 1:30:49Speaker 15: All right.
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: You're on the air.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: Hello?
- 1:30:55Speaker 34: Welcome to the Ron Verb lightning round show.
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: Yes, right.
- 1:30:58Speaker 34: How about that Sophie Cunningham, the women's professional basketball leader,
- 1:31:05Speaker 34: cheering on how she believes that only women should play
- 1:31:12Speaker 34: women's sports.
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: There's a controversial statement. Can you believe that?
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:31:18Speaker 34: This girl, she's on her game. And she's got a
- 1:31:24Speaker 34: great personality. She's tall. She plays basketball. She's a good shooter.
- 1:31:31Speaker 34: And I'm telling you, this girl's hot. And it reminds
- 1:31:35Speaker 34: me of the day of Anna Kournikova. The tennis star.
- 1:31:41Speaker 34: They made a calendar of her back in the day.
- 1:31:44Speaker 34: Anna Kournikova? You remember her?
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: No.
- 1:31:48Speaker 34: I think they're going to make a calendar of this
- 1:31:51Speaker 34: girl in women's basketball.
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:31:57Speaker 34: I think so. Oh, she's a beautiful girl. You know,
- 1:32:01Speaker 34: if she gets cleaned up and fix up the hair
- 1:32:04Speaker 34: and little makeup, little earrings and stuff, nice outfit. This
- 1:32:09Speaker 34: girl's hot, and she can play. She can play sports.
- 1:32:14Speaker 34: It's amazing. And she stands up for what's right. She
- 1:32:18Speaker 34: has common sense, just like the, kind of reminds me
- 1:32:22Speaker 34: of the Republican Party, common sense.
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: Does it really?
- 1:32:27Speaker 6: Yes, yes.
- 1:32:30Speaker 34: Welcome to the Ron Verve lightning round show.
- 1:32:33Speaker 5: Yeah, and this is it? This is the lightning round?
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: What I'm experiencing? I don't know.
- 1:32:38Speaker 34: I didn't take notes today, but, you know, I'm flying
- 1:32:44Speaker 34: by the seat of my pants here.
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, if this is a lightning round, I'm
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: a little concerned. I mean, I'm a little bit, I'm
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: deeply disturbed by this being the lightning rounds.
- 1:32:59Speaker 34: Well, that's when I get the best chance to get
- 1:33:02Speaker 34: in here because you're short on time. You've got to
- 1:33:06Speaker 34: be quick to the point and make your point and
- 1:33:10Speaker 34: move on. But if no one else is lighting up
- 1:33:13Speaker 34: your board, I guess we can talk until 5 o'clock
- 1:33:16Speaker 34: if you want.
- 1:33:18Speaker 5: Really, it's 4.48. I don't know that I could take
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: another 12 minutes. Let me just say this to you
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: because you're a Guardians fan as well, but what a
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: shellacking that happened today. I mean, that was just... What
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: has happened to the Guardians after the All-Star break? I mean,
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: what has happened?
- 1:33:37Speaker 34: Yeah, well, everybody has their bad days. Sometimes when I call,
- 1:33:43Speaker 34: I have a bad call. Sometimes when I call, I
- 1:33:47Speaker 34: have a good call.
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: That's so rare.
- 1:33:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:33:52Speaker 34: But, yeah, that's sports. But this Sophie Cunningham, I tell you,
- 1:34:00Speaker 34: she's a superstar. Marie Bartiroma brought her up on her show,
- 1:34:07Speaker 34: and she loved the idea that she's standing up and
- 1:34:11Speaker 34: calling out this wokeness and women... and men playing on
- 1:34:18Speaker 34: the same league as a women's sports. And Maria, she
- 1:34:25Speaker 34: brought out her finger and pointed in the audience, just
- 1:34:29Speaker 34: like that photograph. That is a famous photograph. When she
- 1:34:32Speaker 34: called out that official about not standing up for women
- 1:34:39Speaker 34: in sports on the basketball, and she had that finger
- 1:34:43Speaker 34: pointed in the wrist, And her arm. I tell you,
- 1:34:49Speaker 34: that picture there is going to be on my calendar someday.
- 1:34:55Speaker 34: Probably in the month of May. That's when I was born.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:35:00Speaker 15: Okay.
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: All right. I can't take it anymore. There he is
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: from Rock Creek. You're out of here.
- 1:35:06Speaker 14: So you're for Obamacare, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, but don't
- 1:35:10Speaker 14: let other people's problems become your problems and you don't
- 1:35:13Speaker 14: like communism or socialism?
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know if you know this. I'll tell you.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: They're called earned benefits. We're not just handing you Social Security.
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: You paid into it. You got to work. You got
- 1:35:23Speaker 5: to work. You got to pay into it. You need
- 1:35:25Speaker 5: so many quarters. And what you pay into it determines
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: how much that you get. just as by.
- 1:35:31Speaker 31: Big government i'm not sure you're aware of the big government.
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: I'm not sure you're i'm not sure you're aware of
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: what i'm trying to tell you because you won't listen
- 1:35:39Speaker 5: uh to what i'm saying to you it is an
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: earned benefit if you don't work and pay into it
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: other than if you're married to someone you don't get
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: it just like unemployment.
- 1:35:49Speaker 14: I'd have two million dollars in the bank that they're
- 1:35:51Speaker 14: going to give me all right.
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: Just like uh If you're unemployment, your employer pays in unemployment.
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: So if you collect unemployment, it means you were employed
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: and you had a job. So I don't have a
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: problem with with unemployment. But the socialism holds the money.
- 1:36:09Speaker 5: You're welcome to pay into the socialism. The socialism that
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: the Democrats are talking about now is a whole other level, pal.
- 1:36:18Speaker 5: Guess where it started, Ron. OK, that's where it all starts.
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: You're on the air.
- 1:36:23Speaker 24: Yes.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: Hi, Ron. How you doing?
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: I'm well.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Let me first say that I'm a registered Republican, but
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: not for long, and I would never vote for a Democrat,
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: but I've had it up to here with Trump, and
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I've lost all faith in him, and I'm seriously looking
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: at a third party like Tucker Carlson, hopefully, but I
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: don't think he would ever do it, or an independent
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: that would come out of moderates.
- 1:36:57Speaker 5: Stand by for me. Right, stand by. I want to
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: come right back to you. I want to hear him
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: when we come back after this, so stay tuned. Sip
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: something special at Springfield ABN. All right, so go ahead
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: with your discourage from the Trump master.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: Yes, very discouraged. I've been around for a while, and
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: I've watched this country deteriorate in the last 40 years.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: From a normal country to something that is bizarro. And
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: Tucker last night laid out his 10-point plan for America.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: And he brought a lot of good points up. And
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: one of them, I was thinking of the architect that
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: you had on your show.
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: He was talking about how beautiful America used to be.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: We had architects that would design and build beautiful buildings.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: And that appreciation has gone by the wayside now. Everything
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: is a plain box. concrete, ugly. It's just amazing that
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: he hit the nail right on the head. He even
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: got to the point where he mentioned the people in Walmart.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: He said, could you imagine, you know, 20 years ago,
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: walking into Walmart, looking at people walking around in their
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: pajamas with rings in their noses and tattoos? He goes,
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: our country is just going down the tubes. But getting
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: back to Trump, he's let me down, and I hope
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: G2 is listening on so many points. And first and
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: foremost is the war, a stupid war that we're in.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: never had to get into. I know George Bush told
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: us once on the weapons of mass destruction, and we
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: all bought it. But when Trump came up with the bomb,
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: the bomb, the bomb, that was the last straw for me.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: I mean, We're so worse off. We have a $ 1. 5
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: trillion military budget, and what do we have to show
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: for it? We're out of munitions that defend our homeland.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: And it doesn't matter if the Democrats or Republicans are
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: in charge. We get the same end effect. National debt
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: through the roof. Nothing gets accomplished. The only person that
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: I did like that Trump had was Tulsi Gabbard. She
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: really accomplished a lot for the short time that she
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: was in there. But I think what hurt her, she
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: exposed too many people, released too many documents that upset Trump.
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: And now he's got, who do we have in there now? Mullen,
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: the senator from Oklahoma, who is dialing back on deportations.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: and working with the Democrats. I never thought I would
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: see that. That was one of Trump's big promises, was
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: get everybody out of the country. And now he's gone
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: from Tulsi Gabbard to ex-Senator Mullen.
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: In other words, it's Trump's turn, a guy that you
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: voted for. As a result of this war and the
- 1:40:04Speaker 5: situation that you see going on now, he's turned you
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: off to where you're not Trumpsters anymore, if you will.
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: But that doesn't mean you'll vote for a Democrat either
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: because you see how far left or this Democrat socialism
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: that they're going. Accurate statements?
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: That's accurate. And the Democrats have lost control of their party.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: That new DSA wing of the party, the communists. Let's
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: face it, they're not socialists, democratic socialists. They're communists. And
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: that nut job they have in Wisconsin, the Korean lady
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: that's running for governor.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: If you just look at their platform, how do these
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: people get elected? And she might well be the next
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: governor of Wisconsin. Right. Although she has one good idea.
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: I'm sort of Thanksgiving. Yeah, there's a lot of pressure
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: to Thanksgiving. Let's get rid of that.
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: I love Thanksgiving. All right. You've got to call me
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: tomorrow when I have more time. I want to hear more.
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: All right. Thank you, my friend. Legal show coming up.
- 1:41:22Speaker 5: From ABC News, I'm Brian Clark.
- 1:41:26Speaker 23: After the Supreme Court rejected President Trump's effort to end
- 1:41:29Speaker 23: birthright citizenship, his administration's taking a new approach to try
- 1:41:33Speaker 23: to limit the scope of the Constitution's 14th Amendment, which
- 1:41:36Speaker 23: grants citizenship to anyone born in the United States. The
- 1:41:40Speaker 23: president signed several executive orders today, and Deputy Chief of
- 1:41:43Speaker 23: Staff Stephen Miller explained the purpose of one.
- 1:41:45Speaker 31: To expand the definitions of people who are ineligible for
- 1:41:48Speaker 31: birthright citizenship.
- 1:41:50Speaker 5: That includes, for example..
- 1:41:52Speaker 31: Alien enemies of the United States, members of foreign terrorist organizations,
- 1:41:56Speaker 31: and large categories of people who lobby and act on
- 1:41:59Speaker 31: behalf of foreign governments.
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: The president also said the U.S.
- 1:42:02Speaker 23: Has enough defensive missiles refuting a report that the stockpiles
- 1:42:05Speaker 23: dwindled amid the war in Iran.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: He put the blame for any issues on his predecessor.
- 1:42:10Speaker 32: Look, we gave a tremendous amount to Ukraine, the Biden
- 1:42:15Speaker 32: people did, and they were given free of charge, no charge.
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: No charge. Billions, hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 1:42:23Speaker 23: Senate Majority Leader John Thune said the reports were concerning.
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: The reports are.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: Concerning, and obviously that's why we need to do more
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: to make sure that our military has the funding it needs.
- 1:42:35Speaker 23: The former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he's out
- 1:42:38Speaker 23: of a rehab facility, but ABC's Jay O'Brien on Capitol
- 1:42:41Speaker 23: Hill says there are plenty of outstanding questions about the
- 1:42:44Speaker 23: 84-year-old's health.
- 1:42:46Speaker 35: He's now recovering at home in Kentucky. He says he'll
- 1:42:48Speaker 35: continue to check in on Senate business. It all comes after, remember,
- 1:42:52Speaker 35: that fall on June 14th, so now a month plus ago,
- 1:42:58Speaker 35: over a month and a half ago, I should say,
- 1:43:00Speaker 35: in which McConnell's office said he was knocked briefly unconscious
- 1:43:05Speaker 35: and was rushed to the emergency room.
- 1:43:07Speaker 23: Investigators in Washington state say the man in custody in
- 1:43:10Speaker 23: charge with starting last week's devastating fires in Spokane admitted
- 1:43:14Speaker 23: to starting at least 25 fires between July 4th and
- 1:43:18Speaker 23: August 11th.
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: You're listening to ABC News. From the NASCO Roofing and
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: Construction News Center, NASCO, the Valley's trusted and passionate roofer,
- 1:43:28Speaker 5: here's what's trending across Ohio.
- 1:43:32Speaker 36: The trust of public surveillance is under fire in Reynoldsburg,
- 1:43:35Speaker 36: where two officers have suddenly quit amid systematic misuse.
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: Here's Travis Laird.
- 1:43:40Speaker 37: Investigative records reveal nearly 20% of Toledo municipal demolitions have
- 1:43:45Speaker 37: triggered collateral damage complaints from neighbors. City employees repeatedly collapsed porches,
- 1:43:51Speaker 37: smashed roofs, and even buried sewer lines under concrete debris.
- 1:43:55Speaker 37: But Toledo officials commonly ducked financial responsibility by claiming governmental immunity.
- 1:44:01Speaker 37: to deny the repair claims until recently reversing course, confronted
- 1:44:05Speaker 37: by outraged homeowners. I'm Travis Laird.
- 1:44:08Speaker 36: Meantime, a Toledo man charged in a decades-old abduction and
- 1:44:11Speaker 36: murder case involving a young Cleveland mother is asking that
- 1:44:14Speaker 36: those charges be dismissed. Kathy Parisi worked as an escort
- 1:44:18Speaker 36: and was last seen alive in April of 1997.
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: Her body has not been found.
- 1:44:22Speaker 36: Michael Bukowski pleaded not guilty last year in a Cuyahoga
- 1:44:26Speaker 36: County courtroom to charges including murder. Bukowski's lawyer has filed
- 1:44:30Speaker 36: a motion to dismiss, calling the charges unjustifiable and saying
- 1:44:34Speaker 36: that the delay in prosecution constitutes a violation of their
- 1:44:37Speaker 36: client's rights.
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: And tomorrow begins.
- 1:44:39Speaker 36: This year's scaled-back sales tax holiday in the state of
- 1:44:42Speaker 36: Ohio for back-to-school shopping. Tim Lynch with the Ohio Department
- 1:44:45Speaker 36: of Taxation says the statehouse set out the rules for
- 1:44:48Speaker 36: what applies to the holiday and for how long it lasts.
- 1:44:52Speaker 38: When the state legislature passed the expanded sales tax holiday,
- 1:44:55Speaker 38: they did so for two years with like a sunset
- 1:44:59Speaker 38: to it. So it ran for two years and passed.
- 1:45:02Speaker 38: it naturally reverted back to, under existing law, to the
- 1:45:06Speaker 38: back-to-school sales tax holiday.
- 1:45:08Speaker 36: This year, it does not apply to any tangible property
- 1:45:10Speaker 36: minus cars and alcohol under $ 500. It now applies to clothing,
- 1:45:14Speaker 36: school supplies, and instructional materials. It's also only one weekend
- 1:45:18Speaker 36: this year, beginning at midnight Friday and lasting through 1159 p.m.
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: On Sunday. I'm Brady Hopkins.
- 1:45:27Speaker 16: Now, Ron Verb on News Radio 570 WKBN.

- 1:46:54Speaker 5: is joining us. Attorney Beatrice. I am.
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:46:56Speaker 15: How are you?
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: I am well. You have been missed. People have always asked,
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: where is Dave? Where is Dave? Everybody wants to know.
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: I'm here.
- 1:47:05Speaker 15: I'm right here.
- 1:47:06Speaker 5: I know, but you've been gone. You've been absent. We've
- 1:47:08Speaker 5: missed you.
- 1:47:09Speaker 15: Well, last week, I had to go up to the
- 1:47:12Speaker 15: boat early because my son got engaged.
- 1:47:19Speaker 5: Do you like the girl? Let's talk about that.
- 1:47:21Speaker 15: I like her very much.
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:47:24Speaker 15: And she was born and reared in the Florida Keys.
- 1:47:30Speaker 15: So I took her a couple times to Put-in-Bay, and
- 1:47:35Speaker 15: she said it reminded her so much of the Keys
- 1:47:38Speaker 15: that they'd like to get married there.
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:47:41Speaker 15: She brought her best friend up, which is a wedding planner,
- 1:47:45Speaker 15: and me and my wife and Jackie, who's my son's fiancé,
- 1:47:51Speaker 15: and her best friend, who's a wedding planner, for the
- 1:47:53Speaker 15: breakers in West Palm, by the way. And we were
- 1:47:58Speaker 15: looking at different venues. They kept asking me my opinion.
- 1:48:04Speaker 15: And here's my position on that.
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: Information is power.
- 1:48:10Speaker 15: I don't want to have any power. Here's what I
- 1:48:12Speaker 15: want to do. How much does this cost? And then
- 1:48:16Speaker 15: let me write the check. Don't ask me for my opinion.
- 1:48:20Speaker 15: Don't ask me to make any decisions. I don't want
- 1:48:23Speaker 15: to make decisions. Decisions give you power. When you have power,
- 1:48:27Speaker 15: you will get blamed for decisions. I don't want to
- 1:48:30Speaker 15: get blamed for anything.
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: Well, wait a minute. Hold on a second. I need
- 1:48:34Speaker 5: to interject here because you might be missing something. This
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: is your son getting married, right? Correct?
- 1:48:40Speaker 15: That is correct. My oldest.
- 1:48:42Speaker 14: All right.
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: So have you ever seen the movie Father of the Bride?
- 1:48:46Speaker 5: I thought you pick up..
- 1:48:48Speaker 15: He's not a bride. He's a groom.
- 1:48:50Speaker 5: I am talking the movie Father of the Bride. The
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: movie is about the father of the bride pays the
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: bulk of the bill for the wedding and you pick
- 1:49:01Speaker 5: up like the booze or something like that. Isn't that
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: how it's supposed to work?
- 1:49:05Speaker 15: That's how it's supposed to work. But I have volunteered...
- 1:49:10Speaker 15: to pay for their wedding, and that's what I plan
- 1:49:12Speaker 15: to do.
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: You're going to pay for the whole thing?
- 1:49:16Speaker 15: Basically, yes.
- 1:49:18Speaker 5: And so they came to you on your boat in Put-In-Bay,
- 1:49:23Speaker 5: and they brought a wedding planner with them?
- 1:49:25Speaker 15: Well, his fiancée has come before to the boat, and
- 1:49:30Speaker 15: she loves Put-In-Bay. because it gives her childhood memories of
- 1:49:35Speaker 15: the Florida Keys. So if you've been to the Florida
- 1:49:39Speaker 15: Keys and you go to Put-In-Bay, they have a very
- 1:49:42Speaker 15: similar vibe about them. And she liked that it gave
- 1:49:46Speaker 15: her a childhood memory. And so that's... Where does she
- 1:49:51Speaker 15: live now? My son and her live in Savannah, Georgia.
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: Okay, so where will their wedding be up here?
- 1:49:59Speaker 15: Well, tentatively at Put-In-Bay, but... Nothing's in stone yet. And
- 1:50:06Speaker 15: so that's where it sits. So it was me, my wife,
- 1:50:10Speaker 15: my son's fiance, and her best friend who's a wedding planner.
- 1:50:15Speaker 5: And how did it go?
- 1:50:16Speaker 15: I didn't want to know. I didn't ask any questions.
- 1:50:22Speaker 5: Did you pay attention?
- 1:50:24Speaker 15: I did not. I went and may have day drunk on...
- 1:50:32Speaker 15: late Thursday afternoon and Friday. Okay. Well, they went and
- 1:50:37Speaker 15: did their things and they came back and they wanted
- 1:50:39Speaker 15: to share it with me. And I said, Hey, this
- 1:50:43Speaker 15: sounds fun. Whatever you guys decide sounds good with me.
- 1:50:46Speaker 15: I don't, I listen information. I've learned this after 41
- 1:50:52Speaker 15: years of practicing law information is power.
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: Did you give them a budget? Yes or no? Yes.
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: Did you draw a line in the sand as saying, listen,
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: here's how much I'm willing to spend on this fiasco wedding?
- 1:51:13Speaker 15: That is my wife's shop. See, once again, that would
- 1:51:16Speaker 15: be me weighing into the process.
- 1:51:18Speaker 5: Me making a decision. Did you discuss a budget with
- 1:51:22Speaker 5: your wife?
- 1:51:24Speaker 31: No.
- 1:51:24Speaker 8: No.
- 1:51:24Speaker 15: I did not.
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: So as far as you know, it could be $ 10, 000
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: or $ 50, 000.
- 1:51:30Speaker 15: As far as I know, you are 100% correct in
- 1:51:34Speaker 15: that assessment.
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: Why wouldn't you set some type of a budget? Why
- 1:51:37Speaker 5: wouldn't you?
- 1:51:37Speaker 15: What don't you understand about the fact that I want
- 1:51:42Speaker 15: no decisions to be made? I want no information to
- 1:51:46Speaker 15: be laid in my lap. I want to make no
- 1:51:48Speaker 15: decisions because I then can't get blamed for anything.
- 1:51:52Speaker 5: Okay. I can't get blamed for anything. So at no
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: point did you say, okay, this is how many guests
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: we can have. It's not going to be unlimited.
- 1:52:01Speaker 15: No, I have not said that.
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: This is how much money I'm willing to spend.
- 1:52:04Speaker 15: I roughly, I overheard them talking.
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: This is a nightmare.
- 1:52:08Speaker 15: It's not a nightmare. When you do a destination wedding, okay,
- 1:52:12Speaker 15: you're going to get about 50 to 60% of the
- 1:52:16Speaker 15: people you invite to show up. And so the only
- 1:52:19Speaker 15: things they've asked me is, How do we get people
- 1:52:23Speaker 15: over to the island? And I said, I can make
- 1:52:25Speaker 15: those arrangements. I can rent a jet express, or we
- 1:52:30Speaker 15: could just say, here are the schedules for the express
- 1:52:33Speaker 15: for the Miller's Ferry. Here are the rooms available. And
- 1:52:37Speaker 15: then that's it. I don't want to know anything else.
- 1:52:39Speaker 15: I really don't. All I know is my son, who's
- 1:52:44Speaker 15: going to be getting married, and then my other son
- 1:52:47Speaker 15: and my daughter's future fiancée, We're all staying on the boat,
- 1:52:52Speaker 15: the four guys. And we're going to trash it because
- 1:52:55Speaker 15: my wife won't be there.
- 1:52:57Speaker 5: Your boat.
- 1:52:59Speaker 15: Absolutely. It's going to be a bachelor pad for a
- 1:53:02Speaker 15: couple days.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:05Speaker 15: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 1:53:08Speaker 5: Pause for just one second. Is Tally there?
- 1:53:10Speaker 15: Yes, Tally's here. I need to talk to her. Go ahead.
- 1:53:14Speaker 5: Yeah, Tally, this is a nightmare he's talking about.
- 1:53:18Speaker 15: It's not a nightmare.
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: Excuse me, I'm talking with Tally at the present time.
- 1:53:21Speaker 15: Tally, what is a nightmare about what I'm saying?
- 1:53:23Speaker 13: I would like to formally request an adoption by Dave
- 1:53:26Speaker 13: Beatrice for my upcoming vacation if he could just write
- 1:53:28Speaker 13: a check for all of us.
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: Tally, let me ask you a question, all right?
- 1:53:34Speaker 14: Yes.
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: First of all, Tally did every father's dream. Tally married
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: a doctor.
- 1:53:40Speaker 12: But..
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no.
- 1:53:43Speaker 15: We have to qualify that. She didn't marry just a doctor.
- 1:53:47Speaker 15: She married a surgeon.
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: Correct. Okay. But I just wanted to emphasize that.
- 1:53:50Speaker 15: So we have that right.
- 1:53:51Speaker 13: I married him before he became one.
- 1:53:53Speaker 5: Okay. But Tali, when you got married, was there, you know,
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: with your dad and the people that were paying for
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: the wedding, did they say, here's how many people we
- 1:54:04Speaker 5: can invite. Here's what the budget is. Here's the parameters.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:54:09Speaker 13: So me and Adam don't actually come from a whole
- 1:54:11Speaker 13: bunch of– we come from families with limited means. So
- 1:54:15Speaker 13: they both helped out as much as they could. But
- 1:54:18Speaker 13: Adam and I actually paid the majority of our wedding.
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: Excuse me. Could you say that a little louder, Tali?
- 1:54:22Speaker 5: What was that again?
- 1:54:24Speaker 13: Adam and I actually paid for the majority of our wedding,
- 1:54:27Speaker 13: just because our parents both come from limited means.
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: Right. Okay. Is Dave hearing this? I just want to
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: make sure he hears this.
- 1:54:32Speaker 15: I am hearing this, and let me respond.
- 1:54:33Speaker 13: But I think that's wonderful.
- 1:54:34Speaker 15: No, I think it's great. Let me respond to that.
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: Okay, now, I'm not done with Tally.
- 1:54:37Speaker 15: I want to respond to that.
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: I am not done with Tally. You must... No, no, no. Tally,
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: let me ask you the follow-up question, please. Traditionally, is
- 1:54:45Speaker 5: it not the father..
- 1:54:46Speaker 15: Do we have any calls?
- 1:54:47Speaker 5: No, I'm not ready yet. Don't worry.
- 1:54:48Speaker 15: My wife, my daughter, already told me that she... Has
- 1:54:54Speaker 15: an unlimited budget. Oh, Jesus.
- 1:54:57Speaker 13: That zero percent surprises me with your daughter.
- 1:55:00Speaker 39: Yeah.
- 1:55:00Speaker 15: She just said, here's what I'm going to do. You're
- 1:55:03Speaker 15: going to pay for it, and you're not going to
- 1:55:04Speaker 15: question it.
- 1:55:06Speaker 13: I think it's wonderful. And honestly, if my parents could
- 1:55:08Speaker 13: have done that, they would have. And maybe I'll do
- 1:55:10Speaker 13: that for my kids. I think it's very generous of Dave,
- 1:55:13Speaker 13: and I think it shows how much he loves me.
- 1:55:15Speaker 15: Let me just say this.
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: I just want to ask one question to Tally, please. Tally,
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: does the father of the bride traditionally pay for the?
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: Isn't that how it traditionally works, Tally?
- 1:55:25Speaker 13: Traditionally, if they can afford it, yes.
- 1:55:27Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:55:27Speaker 15: Did you hear that little caveat on it?
- 1:55:31Speaker 13: But how generous is it?
- 1:55:32Speaker 15: Okay, let's put it aside. My son is serving his country.
- 1:55:36Speaker 15: My son's not even in the United States right now.
- 1:55:39Speaker 15: So if my son wants to have a nice wedding,
- 1:55:42Speaker 15: I'm going to give him a nice wedding. Because I
- 1:55:44Speaker 15: don't see many other people out there whose children are
- 1:55:48Speaker 15: serving when they can be out in the private sector
- 1:55:51Speaker 15: making a lot more money. So I'm going to make
- 1:55:53Speaker 15: sure that my son has a wedding commensurate and honors
- 1:55:59Speaker 15: the sacrifices he has made of his body, his brain,
- 1:56:04Speaker 15: and his financial pocket to serve this country. It's the
- 1:56:07Speaker 15: least I can do for my son. And if my
- 1:56:10Speaker 15: son got engaged to a woman... whose parents might not
- 1:56:14Speaker 15: have the means I have, I'm not going to be
- 1:56:17Speaker 15: a jerk and say, well, you guys got to pay
- 1:56:19Speaker 15: for the wedding. I'm not doing that. I'm sorry.
- 1:56:22Speaker 13: I think, well, first, thank you for his service. And second,
- 1:56:25Speaker 13: I think it's a wonderful thing. I really do. I
- 1:56:28Speaker 13: think it's extremely honorable of you to even offer that.
- 1:56:34Speaker 15: Anytime I can be on my boat, I don't care.
- 1:56:36Speaker 13: I really don't have any negative things to say about it.
- 1:56:39Speaker 13: You might have a lot of things, Dave, and we
- 1:56:41Speaker 13: might make fun of you a lot, but you are
- 1:56:42Speaker 13: very generous.
- 1:56:43Speaker 15: Yeah, people don't know that about me.
- 1:56:45Speaker 13: People don't know that because we always make fun of you.
- 1:56:47Speaker 15: Everyone makes fun of me. Brian and Frank.
- 1:56:49Speaker 5: We're not going to stop doing that, Tal.
- 1:56:51Speaker 15: We're torturing me today.
- 1:56:52Speaker 5: That's the whole point.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: I know. I know.
- 1:56:54Speaker 13: But he is a very generous man. And you know what?
- 1:56:57Speaker 13: For his son, I think it's wonderful, and I'm excited
- 1:56:59Speaker 13: to hear about the wedding plans.
- 1:57:00Speaker 33: Yeah.
- 1:57:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:57:04Speaker 15: The only complaint I had is..
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: Where is Melfi when I need him or Frank when
- 1:57:08Speaker 5: I need him? They could help pile on here.
- 1:57:11Speaker 15: Frank is now Coach Cassis.
- 1:57:14Speaker 13: Yeah, football coach Cassis.
- 1:57:17Speaker 15: His sons are athletes. I don't know when he'll be
- 1:57:21Speaker 15: doing the show again.
- 1:57:22Speaker 13: I'm out next week and the week after.
- 1:57:24Speaker 15: I don't think so because they have football practice.
- 1:57:28Speaker 13: I won't be here, remember?
- 1:57:29Speaker 15: Yeah, you won't be here, so I'll probably be solo.
- 1:57:32Speaker 13: We have Bandit, though. Bandit's sitting right.
- 1:57:34Speaker 5: Next to me.
- 1:57:34Speaker 15: Yeah, Bandit's sitting right now. Hi, Bandit.
- 1:57:35Speaker 13: He is being so good.
- 1:57:36Speaker 5: He is being good.
- 1:57:37Speaker 13: He's going to be part of the radio show.
- 1:57:38Speaker 15: Come here, Bandit. You want to sit by Daddy?
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: Come on.
- 1:57:40Speaker 15: Come on over here.
- 1:57:40Speaker 13: He says, no, I'm sitting by Tally.
- 1:57:42Speaker 15: Anyhow, Frank's coaching. Jimmy has some excuse that he didn't sleep.
- 1:57:50Speaker 15: What are you complaining about, my producer? Anyways, you have
- 1:57:58Speaker 15: Dave and I.
- 1:58:00Speaker 13: Do we have any calls?
- 1:58:01Speaker 15: Yeah, do we have any calls?
- 1:58:02Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:58:02Speaker 13: We have two brilliant minds here waiting and.
- 1:58:06Speaker 15: Chomping at the bit.
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: All right. You're on the air with the attorneys. Hello.
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: Is that me?
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: Yes, it is. Go ahead, sir. Your legal question.
- 1:58:14Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: This is a legal question about a vehicle.
- 1:58:19Speaker 15: Go ahead.
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: Okay. I started out. I have a truck. Wouldn't start.
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: It was a... Fuel pump fuse. I ended up having
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: to get it towed. I got it towed to this
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: local body shop or repair shop. It was $ 300. I
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: got it home two days later. It wouldn't start. I
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: took it back. They said they checked everything. It was
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: a starter. They put a new starter on. Okay. I
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: drove it home, which I'm 10 minutes away from the shop.
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: I looked. No dashboards. No clock, no radio. I had
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: a temperature gauge, and that's it. Now, the garage claims
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: that they didn't do this. But now they've had it
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: for two weeks and can't fix it. And I don't
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: know if I have to go legal or what. I
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: need my vehicle.
- 1:59:16Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:59:16Speaker 15: Hold on a second. Hold on a second. I want
- 1:59:19Speaker 15: to understand the breadth of your problem. You took your
- 1:59:24Speaker 15: car to an automotive repair shop, correct?
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:59:29Speaker 15: Did they give you an estimate before they undertook the repairs?
- 1:59:34Speaker 15: Did they give you an estimate of what it would run?
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: No, they didn't.
- 1:59:39Speaker 15: All right, so they violated the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act,
- 1:59:44Speaker 15: and they either need to fix your car appropriately or
- 1:59:47Speaker 15: you could sue them and recover your attorney fees. So
- 1:59:51Speaker 15: perhaps you should go back to them and say, you
- 1:59:54Speaker 15: didn't give me a quote. The law requires you to
- 1:59:57Speaker 15: give me a quote. Fix my car or I'm going
- 2:00:00Speaker 15: to sue you. How's that?
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: Well, they've been trying to fix it for two weeks,
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: he said. And he claims that it wasn't their fault.
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: It was my fault. And I drove 10 minutes away.
- 2:00:13Speaker 15: Whether it was your fault or not, they must give
- 2:00:16Speaker 15: you a written estimate. Them not giving you a written
- 2:00:20Speaker 15: estimate violates the law.
- 2:00:22Speaker 24: Okay.
- 2:00:23Speaker 15: All right? Good luck with that.
- 2:00:26Speaker 24: Yes, sir.
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:00:27Speaker 5: All right. Thank you. You're a little edgy with that guy, Dave.
- 2:00:31Speaker 5: I mean, I think I got you all worked up.
- 2:00:32Speaker 15: No, I just..
- 2:00:33Speaker 5: Tally, I got him on edge.
- 2:00:35Speaker 15: No, I just don't like people taking advantage of other people.
- 2:00:38Speaker 5: I don't like that.
- 2:00:39Speaker 13: He has a really... He's had a really hard day.
- 2:00:42Speaker 13: I mean, mind you, I have too. I literally didn't
- 2:00:45Speaker 13: be able to pee until like 3 or 4 p.m., but...
- 2:00:48Speaker 13: He's had a hard day.
- 2:00:49Speaker 15: This entire week.
- 2:00:51Speaker 13: He didn't get a cold plunge.
- 2:00:52Speaker 15: I didn't get a cold plunge.
- 2:00:53Speaker 13: Let's give him a little break.
- 2:00:56Speaker 15: My day this week was just a series.
- 2:00:59Speaker 13: Of unfortunate events.
- 2:01:00Speaker 15: Of interruptions. Of me attempting to do my work. That
- 2:01:05Speaker 15: was it. I tried to get my emails answered. And
- 2:01:09Speaker 15: all it was was interruption after interruption. After interruption.
- 2:01:13Speaker 13: I said, good morning.
- 2:01:14Speaker 23: And he said, what?
- 2:01:15Speaker 13: And I said, don't say what to me.
- 2:01:16Speaker 15: I have to shut my door. And when I shut
- 2:01:18Speaker 15: my door, inevitably I get, I got one quick question, Dave. Okay,
- 2:01:25Speaker 15: answer that. I go back to doing whatever I'm doing.
- 2:01:27Speaker 15: And then a client calls me on my cell phone
- 2:01:33Speaker 15: or something else. It was just a frustrating week because
- 2:01:36Speaker 15: I couldn't get work done because I just, as I
- 2:01:40Speaker 15: was getting work done, just, Kept getting interrupted.
- 2:01:43Speaker 13: He's a hot commodity. Everybody needs him.
- 2:01:45Speaker 15: It's not that. It's just when you want to get, like,
- 2:01:48Speaker 15: I wanted to write this motion. I was supposed to
- 2:01:50Speaker 15: have it done like 10 days ago, and I just
- 2:01:53Speaker 15: got it in because I literally, every time I tried
- 2:01:56Speaker 15: to work on it, all I did was get interrupted,
- 2:01:59Speaker 15: get off track, and, you know, I even bought an
- 2:02:03Speaker 15: AI thing. Ron, you'll love this. Oh, I hate this thing. No,
- 2:02:07Speaker 15: I love it.
- 2:02:08Speaker 5: I know you do.
- 2:02:08Speaker 15: I put it in my pocket, okay? And when I'm talking,
- 2:02:12Speaker 15: you know, a lot of times when you're talking, you'll say,
- 2:02:15Speaker 15: all right, I'll get back to you on that. And
- 2:02:17Speaker 15: then you get waylaid with something else, and then you
- 2:02:20Speaker 15: forget about it. Well, this AI has the ability to
- 2:02:24Speaker 15: create you to-do lists. So when I get home tonight,
- 2:02:28Speaker 15: it'll have a big list here, and it says, here
- 2:02:30Speaker 15: are the following things you said you needed to do
- 2:02:34Speaker 15: in case you forgot.
- 2:02:35Speaker 13: Is it going right now?
- 2:02:35Speaker 15: It's going right now, yeah.
- 2:02:36Speaker 13: Okay, AI thing to Dave. Tell him not to what
- 2:02:40Speaker 13: tally anymore. On his to-do list.
- 2:02:42Speaker 15: Fieldy, tell me not to what Tally anymore.
- 2:02:44Speaker 13: I yell at him every time. I say, don't say
- 2:02:46Speaker 13: what to me.
- 2:02:46Speaker 7: Say good morning.
- 2:02:47Speaker 13: How are you, Tally?
- 2:02:48Speaker 23: I'm great.
- 2:02:49Speaker 5: Hey, Tally, would you also ask the AI thing, could
- 2:02:52Speaker 5: he not take his frustrations out on Ron?
- 2:02:55Speaker 13: Could you also tell him not to take his frustrations
- 2:02:57Speaker 13: out on Ron?
- 2:02:58Speaker 15: Fieldy, could you remind me not to take my frustrations
- 2:03:01Speaker 15: out on Ron? I'm going to screenshot it and send it.
- 2:03:04Speaker 14: To you, Ron.
- 2:03:05Speaker 13: Did you name it Fieldy or has it already come named?
- 2:03:06Speaker 15: That's the name of it, Fieldy. It's the best.
- 2:03:10Speaker 13: Can we rename it like Darla?
- 2:03:12Speaker 15: No, that's the name of it. It is the best
- 2:03:15Speaker 15: piece of technology I have purchased. Gertrude. I cannot tell
- 2:03:20Speaker 15: you how many times it has saved my arse. Because
- 2:03:25Speaker 15: I'll get home tonight and then I'll go, oh, yeah,
- 2:03:28Speaker 15: I remember saying that. Or, oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Or, oh, yeah,
- 2:03:32Speaker 15: I need to send. Like, you'll be on the phone
- 2:03:34Speaker 15: and I'll go, all right, I'll forward you that email, Ron.
- 2:03:37Speaker 13: I'm going to be so annoying now that I know
- 2:03:39Speaker 13: its name. Fieldy, remind Bandit to give treats.
- 2:03:41Speaker 15: Fieldy, remind me to give Bandit treats. Believe me, if
- 2:03:45Speaker 15: you say something that it picks up as I like
- 2:03:47Speaker 15: it to do, it'll make it to do.
- 2:03:50Speaker 13: I'm going to make a very long.
- 2:03:51Speaker 15: To-do list for Fieldy. Don't do that, because I could
- 2:03:53Speaker 15: swipe left or right real quick.
- 2:03:56Speaker 5: So you've gone AI. Hang on another call, and then
- 2:03:59Speaker 5: we'll take some more thoughts about this AI. You're on
- 2:04:02Speaker 5: the air with our attorneys. Hello.
- 2:04:04Speaker 13: How can we help you?
- 2:04:06Speaker 5: Line two, hello.
- 2:04:08Speaker 30: Yes.
- 2:04:09Speaker 5: What's your question?
- 2:04:09Speaker 24: It's me.
- 2:04:10Speaker 32: I have a question.
- 2:04:11Speaker 4: I have a big maple tree about a foot and
- 2:04:14Speaker 4: a half off my driveway, and it's about 3,000 or
- 2:04:17Speaker 4: plus to.
- 2:04:18Speaker 15: Cut it down.
- 2:04:20Speaker 4: But it's lifting a slab, a couple slabs on my driveway,
- 2:04:25Speaker 4: and they're up about three and a half inches. And
- 2:04:30Speaker 4: someone would trip on my driveway, mailman, a visitor, whoever.
- 2:04:36Speaker 4: Can they sue me for that?
- 2:04:38Speaker 15: Well, trip and fall cases we call slip and lose, okay?
- 2:04:44Speaker 15: If it's an open and obvious thing, they can't sue you.
- 2:04:49Speaker 15: And here's what I suggest you do. Just put up
- 2:04:52Speaker 15: a sign that says uneven sidewalk, make sure your homeowner's
- 2:04:56Speaker 15: is paid, and don't worry about it.
- 2:05:00Speaker 24: Okay.
- 2:05:01Speaker 4: How about if I would spray, like, some red paint?
- 2:05:08Speaker 15: Anything you do that warns people that your driveway is
- 2:05:12Speaker 15: uneven helps you.
- 2:05:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:05:16Speaker 40: All right?
- 2:05:16Speaker 4: Sounds good.
- 2:05:17Speaker 15: Just because someone gets hurt on your property does not
- 2:05:20Speaker 15: make you liable for them. Okay? Just because you slip
- 2:05:24Speaker 15: and fall in a grocery store does not make the
- 2:05:27Speaker 15: grocery store liable for that. A lot of people think
- 2:05:31Speaker 15: that's the law. That is not the law.
- 2:05:33Speaker 24: Okay?
- 2:05:33Speaker 39: Okay.
- 2:05:34Speaker 15: And trip and fall cases are the hardest cases we do.
- 2:05:40Speaker 15: I can't tell you how many summary judgments I've lost
- 2:05:43Speaker 15: when people are in a restaurant and it's dark, and
- 2:05:46Speaker 15: then they're walking up steps to get to their table, right?
- 2:05:50Speaker 15: Then they go down those steps to go to the restroom,
- 2:05:53Speaker 15: and then when they go back up to their table,
- 2:05:55Speaker 15: they have to traverse the same steps, and they trip
- 2:05:59Speaker 15: not knowing the steps are there. And the judge says,
- 2:06:02Speaker 15: so let me see if I understand this, Mr. Beatrice.
- 2:06:04Speaker 15: They walked up the steps.
- 2:06:06Speaker 5: Hold that thought. Hold that thought, caller. Hold that thought, Dave.
- 2:06:10Speaker 5: Back with the one and only. After this, NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 2:06:13Speaker 5: A to Z dependable services. NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 2:06:21Speaker 40: Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell has been discharged from the rehab
- 2:06:24Speaker 40: center where he had been recovering after a fall in June.
- 2:06:27Speaker 40: In a statement released by his office today, he said,
- 2:06:29Speaker 40: Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes
- 2:06:32Speaker 40: and support from friends, colleagues and Kentuckians and for the
- 2:06:35Speaker 40: attentive care I received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists and
- 2:06:39Speaker 40: hospital staff. He added that he will continue to engage
- 2:06:42Speaker 40: with his staff and colleagues on important Senate business while
- 2:06:45Speaker 40: recovering from home. A Senate committee has approved a measure
- 2:06:48Speaker 40: to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress. The
- 2:06:51Speaker 40: vote by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
- 2:06:54Speaker 40: comes after the former White House health advisor invoked the
- 2:06:58Speaker 40: Fifth Amendment more than 100 times in a hearing last
- 2:07:00Speaker 40: week about the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Justice can
- 2:07:03Speaker 40: now move to consider charging Fauci with a crime. Fauci
- 2:07:07Speaker 40: refused to answer questions, saying he thinks committee chair and
- 2:07:11Speaker 40: Republican Senator Rand Paul wants to see him behind bars
- 2:07:14Speaker 40: and is obsessed with him.
- 2:07:16Speaker 5: I'm Chris Coraggio.

- 2:07:36Speaker 5: Back to it, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. And Ron Verb with
- 2:07:40Speaker 5: attorney David Beatrice and Tally joining us tonight. And, caller,
- 2:07:47Speaker 5: are you done with your question, caller? Are you there, caller?
- 2:07:53Speaker 15: I think he hung up.
- 2:07:54Speaker 5: No, I got him. There you go. Caller, are you there?
- 2:07:57Speaker 15: No.
- 2:07:59Speaker 32: I'm good.
- 2:07:59Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 2:08:00Speaker 5: All right. Thank you.
- 2:08:01Speaker 15: All right. Thank you.
- 2:08:02Speaker 5: All right. Well, let me do this. Sometimes I have
- 2:08:06Speaker 5: a hard time. There we go. You're on the air
- 2:08:10Speaker 5: with the attorneys tonight. Hello.
- 2:08:11Speaker 23: Hi.
- 2:08:12Speaker 15: Hi.
- 2:08:13Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 2:08:15Speaker 39: Yeah, I have a question. At my job, my employer,
- 2:08:20Speaker 39: I'm actually under one position. Well, once in a while
- 2:08:24Speaker 39: I have to do another position, which is actually the
- 2:08:28Speaker 39: people that do that constantly are paid more money. So
- 2:08:32Speaker 39: one of the bosses told me one day, said, hey,
- 2:08:35Speaker 39: you know, are you putting in that you're being an
- 2:08:39Speaker 39: operator because you can get extra money hourly? So I said, no,
- 2:08:44Speaker 39: I didn't know that. Thank you. So I put it
- 2:08:46Speaker 39: in and they approved it. Well, then I did it again.
- 2:08:50Speaker 39: When I did that same job, to get the extra
- 2:08:53Speaker 39: money while I'm doing it because basically I'm making one
- 2:08:56Speaker 39: wage and the guy next to me that's doing the
- 2:08:58Speaker 39: same job is making like several dollars more. So I
- 2:09:03Speaker 39: put the second one in and they denied it. And
- 2:09:05Speaker 39: they said they couldn't approve it anymore. So I don't
- 2:09:08Speaker 39: understand how you could have paid me one time extra
- 2:09:11Speaker 39: that I'm doing the job as the guy next to
- 2:09:13Speaker 39: me making more money, but now all of a sudden
- 2:09:16Speaker 39: they can't approve it.
- 2:09:18Speaker 15: Welcome to capitalism in America. That's how it works.
- 2:09:20Speaker 30: Right.
- 2:09:22Speaker 15: I mean, I don't mean it bad. In Ohio, you're
- 2:09:25Speaker 15: an at-will employee. They can pay you whatever they want,
- 2:09:28Speaker 15: and they don't have to justify it. They can fire
- 2:09:31Speaker 15: you for a good reason, a bad reason, or no
- 2:09:33Speaker 15: reason whatsoever. And there really is no legal remedy. Now,
- 2:09:39Speaker 15: if you could prove that they're discriminating against you because
- 2:09:42Speaker 15: of your gender, then you might have a case. But
- 2:09:46Speaker 15: outside of that, there's not much you can do unless
- 2:09:50Speaker 15: you're in a union. That's why collective bargaining agreements, employers
- 2:09:56Speaker 15: hate them because they protect employees.
- 2:10:01Speaker 39: Yes, they do, and I wish my company had a union,
- 2:10:04Speaker 39: but they refuse it, and they've tried several times to unionize,
- 2:10:09Speaker 39: and it did not happen.
- 2:10:11Speaker 15: Even though they didn't unionize, having unions puts pressure on
- 2:10:17Speaker 15: private companies to pay people decent wages, just to keep
- 2:10:22Speaker 15: the union out. So if you're working a 40-hour work week,
- 2:10:27Speaker 15: do you think you got that because a corporation felt benevolent?
- 2:10:32Speaker 15: Do you think you have a safe workplace because a
- 2:10:36Speaker 15: corporation felt benevolent? Do you think you get time and
- 2:10:39Speaker 15: a half if you work overtime because corporate America was
- 2:10:42Speaker 15: feeling extra generous? Do you think we have child labor
- 2:10:48Speaker 15: laws because corporations said, well, geez, it'd be terrible for
- 2:10:53Speaker 15: our bottom line if we could hire children and pay
- 2:10:55Speaker 15: them really bad wages. No, that all happened at the
- 2:10:59Speaker 15: end of a union, at the end of a protest,
- 2:11:03Speaker 15: at collective bargaining. And so people always want to beat
- 2:11:07Speaker 15: up unions. And I want to say this. If you're
- 2:11:11Speaker 15: working 40 hours a week and you have your weekends off,
- 2:11:14Speaker 15: you could take a guy that stood on a picket
- 2:11:16Speaker 15: line You could thank a person that got their head
- 2:11:19Speaker 15: bashed in by union busters. If you have a safe workplace,
- 2:11:24Speaker 15: you could thank people that organized and pushed for these reforms.
- 2:11:28Speaker 15: So unions aren't all bad. People want to make them bad.
- 2:11:32Speaker 15: They're not bad. And the threat of a union even
- 2:11:36Speaker 15: is a good thing because then employers raise people's wages
- 2:11:42Speaker 15: to the point where they're saying, well, you don't really
- 2:11:44Speaker 15: need a union. Look what we're doing for you. But
- 2:11:46Speaker 15: the bottom line is, without a collective bargaining agreement, you
- 2:11:50Speaker 15: have no job protection. And that's the main thing a
- 2:11:54Speaker 15: union does for you is it gives you job protection.
- 2:11:57Speaker 13: Remedies in case something does happen like that.
- 2:11:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:12:01Speaker 15: Okay.
- 2:12:01Speaker 39: I kind of feel like it's not right. I'm doing
- 2:12:03Speaker 39: the same job as the person next to me, and
- 2:12:05Speaker 39: they're making way more money. And I'm telling you, I
- 2:12:08Speaker 39: do a better, just as good, if not better, job
- 2:12:12Speaker 39: than the guy that's getting.
- 2:12:13Speaker 32: Paid all the money.
- 2:12:14Speaker 15: Yeah, I totally hear you and I totally understand that.
- 2:12:19Speaker 15: But that is part of what capitalism is. So, you know,
- 2:12:24Speaker 15: I'm the type of guy that thinks that maybe we
- 2:12:27Speaker 15: should put some little bit of guardrails around capitalism because,
- 2:12:30Speaker 15: you know, we all have a little bit of larceny
- 2:12:32Speaker 15: in us. Greed is real in the world. And so,
- 2:12:38Speaker 15: you know, it's always a tug in a pool. That's
- 2:12:41Speaker 15: all it is. All right. I wish you well. Thank you.
- 2:12:44Speaker 14: I appreciate the information.
- 2:12:46Speaker 39: Good luck. Have a good one.
- 2:12:47Speaker 5: It's kind of, in the state of Ohio, what do
- 2:12:49Speaker 5: you always say, Dave, or whatever? It's an employee at
- 2:12:51Speaker 5: Will State, right, if you don't have a union?
- 2:12:53Speaker 15: Yeah, they can fire you for a good reason, a
- 2:12:56Speaker 15: bad reason, or no reason. Now, they can't fire you
- 2:12:58Speaker 15: because of your woman or because of a religious belief
- 2:13:01Speaker 15: or because of your ethnicity.
- 2:13:02Speaker 13: Sexual orientation.
- 2:13:04Speaker 15: No, sexual orientation is not protective. Not yet, at least.
- 2:13:09Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:13:09Speaker 15: Okay, so... These are the prices we pay to have
- 2:13:18Speaker 15: a capitalistic society. So there's always a tug and pull
- 2:13:22Speaker 15: between regulations and freewheeling capitalism. Freewheeling capitalism is not necessarily
- 2:13:29Speaker 15: a good thing for everyone. It might be a good
- 2:13:32Speaker 15: thing for the top 0.01% of people, but for the
- 2:13:37Speaker 15: majority of Americans, it's not necessarily a good thing. Just
- 2:13:42Speaker 15: my three cents worth. I don't want to get political.
- 2:13:45Speaker 15: I'm just saying what I've observed in the 41 years
- 2:13:48Speaker 15: of practicing law.
- 2:13:50Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely. All right. So with Attorney David Beatrice, Tally
- 2:13:55Speaker 5: joins us as well.
- 2:13:56Speaker 8: 330-729-8000.
- 2:13:58Speaker 5: 99-77. You've got a legal question? Give us a call.
- 2:14:01Speaker 5: I have three lines open in Youngstown. Dave and Tally
- 2:14:04Speaker 5: will be with us tonight until 6 o'clock.
- 2:14:06Speaker 1: 330-729-9977. 330-729-9977.
- 2:14:06Speaker 5: We'll get you through to us on News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 2:14:08Speaker 8: 330-729-9977.

- 2:14:26Speaker 5: Radio 570 WKBN as we go along here today. So
- 2:14:32Speaker 5: any comments or questions, more than happy to hear what
- 2:14:35Speaker 5: you have to say. Add to our discussion as far
- 2:14:37Speaker 5: as legal questions or legal advice. Something going on in
- 2:14:43Speaker 5: your world. 330-729-9977. 330-729-9977. We'll get you through to us
- 2:14:48Speaker 5: on News Radio 570 WKBN. So pick up the phone
- 2:14:52Speaker 5: and give us a call. All right. Attorney Beatrice is
- 2:14:57Speaker 5: the father of the groom. When is the wedding going
- 2:14:59Speaker 5: to be, David?
- 2:15:01Speaker 15: That would be information. What did I tell you about information?
- 2:15:05Speaker 5: You don't want to know anything about it.
- 2:15:07Speaker 15: No, I really don't. I don't want to know. I
- 2:15:09Speaker 15: don't want to know. I don't want to make any decisions.
- 2:15:13Speaker 15: Whenever they want to do it, it's fine. I'm being honest.
- 2:15:17Speaker 15: I'm just being honest.
- 2:15:18Speaker 13: I'm psychotic. I would want to know everything.
- 2:15:19Speaker 15: No, I don't want to know anything. I want to
- 2:15:22Speaker 15: go and have a good time. I want to be
- 2:15:24Speaker 15: like a guest at my son's wedding. I don't want
- 2:15:26Speaker 15: to be supervising anyone. I don't want to be telling
- 2:15:29Speaker 15: waiters what to do. I don't want to be telling
- 2:15:31Speaker 15: this person. I'm going to leave that all to my
- 2:15:33Speaker 15: wife and the decision makers. I'm not a decision maker.
- 2:15:36Speaker 15: I am what they call the payor, and the people
- 2:15:40Speaker 15: putting on the wedding are the payee.
- 2:15:41Speaker 13: That's literally a dream come true for a daughter-in-law, by
- 2:15:44Speaker 13: the way, or a son-in-law. Could you imagine just someone just,
- 2:15:48Speaker 13: you plan everything, and I'll just take care of it.
- 2:15:50Speaker 15: That's what I basically said to them.
- 2:15:52Speaker 5: I know.
- 2:15:52Speaker 13: That's amazing. I'm super jealous.
- 2:15:55Speaker 15: I mean, look, it's the least I could do for
- 2:15:58Speaker 15: my son. It's the least I could do for him.
- 2:16:01Speaker 39: Sorry.
- 2:16:01Speaker 13: A lot of love for your son.
- 2:16:02Speaker 15: I love that.
- 2:16:02Speaker 14: I know.
- 2:16:03Speaker 15: I mean, it's more than that. I mean, my son
- 2:16:05Speaker 15: could have been out killing it in the private sector. Yeah.
- 2:16:08Speaker 15: And instead, you know.
- 2:16:10Speaker 13: Serving our country.
- 2:16:10Speaker 15: He's got TBI, PTSD, back problems, all kinds of physical
- 2:16:17Speaker 15: ailments just from his training.
- 2:16:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:16:19Speaker 15: He's on his sixth combat deployment. I mean, those are
- 2:16:24Speaker 15: special kind of people. You know, the one thing that
- 2:16:27Speaker 15: unites Americans is our armed forces. It really is. I mean,
- 2:16:31Speaker 15: you could be a Democrat, you could be a Republican,
- 2:16:33Speaker 15: you could be a liberal, you could be a conservative.
- 2:16:35Speaker 15: No one doesn't respect the 1% of Americans that protect
- 2:16:40Speaker 15: the 99%. And now that I was in it a
- 2:16:44Speaker 15: little bit or a lot, I know why no one
- 2:16:47Speaker 15: messes with us. I mean, we are, our military is lethal.
- 2:16:52Speaker 15: It is lethal. And they don't play. They don't play.
- 2:16:56Speaker 15: They don't play like, oh, let's play like we're going to,
- 2:17:00Speaker 15: Bomb you or let's play like we're going to kill you.
- 2:17:02Speaker 12: No.
- 2:17:03Speaker 15: When they're given a mission, their job is to complete
- 2:17:07Speaker 15: the mission at all costs. So kudos to those that
- 2:17:12Speaker 15: have served. And I have much respect for people that
- 2:17:17Speaker 15: serve and their families because they're right with them.
- 2:17:22Speaker 5: All right. Now I want to shift to this topic.
- 2:17:25Speaker 5: Explain to our listeners, you have embraced AI in your life.
- 2:17:29Speaker 5: I mean, many of us find that interesting because you
- 2:17:32Speaker 5: have a difficult time programming your television remote or doing
- 2:17:37Speaker 5: things on your computer. Emailing people. Yeah, your technology challenge.
- 2:17:42Speaker 15: There's a couple of warnings I want to give people
- 2:17:45Speaker 15: about AI. The government now will grab your phone or
- 2:17:54Speaker 15: your computer device, and they will then look at your
- 2:17:56Speaker 15: searches on AI and then use that as evidence against you,
- 2:18:01Speaker 15: both in civil cases and criminal cases. So I tell people,
- 2:18:05Speaker 15: if you want to use AI, probably best not to
- 2:18:08Speaker 15: use your own thing if you're in some kind of
- 2:18:10Speaker 15: a dispute. Just words to the wise. I have embraced
- 2:18:16Speaker 15: AI because AI is the wave of the future. There
- 2:18:21Speaker 15: is a lawyer... who is investing $ 500 million to create
- 2:18:28Speaker 15: a new law firm of AI agents. So they're going
- 2:18:32Speaker 15: to have about..
- 2:18:33Speaker 5: How much money?
- 2:18:34Speaker 15: $ 500 million.
- 2:18:36Speaker 13: Just a small amount, Ron.
- 2:18:37Speaker 15: It'll actually save him money. Because if you have a
- 2:18:40Speaker 15: large firm, say you have 600 lawyers, and the lowest
- 2:18:45Speaker 15: associates make $ 1.
- 2:18:46Speaker 5: 50 to $ 200, 000.
- 2:18:46Speaker 15: Do the math over the years. So what they could
- 2:18:52Speaker 15: do with the model this lawyer is developing is erase second, third, fourth, fifth, seventh,
- 2:19:02Speaker 15: eighth-year lawyers, okay, and use AI and then just use
- 2:19:08Speaker 15: Westlaw and whatnot to check. You've got to be very careful.
- 2:19:13Speaker 15: If you use AI as a lawyer. So I use Westlaw.
- 2:19:17Speaker 5: Could you stop? Pause for a second. How is this working?
- 2:19:20Speaker 5: You as a client would go in. Who would you
- 2:19:23Speaker 5: meet with when you're talking about?
- 2:19:25Speaker 15: You would meet with like an intake person. So who
- 2:19:29Speaker 15: it's going to replace is.
- 2:19:31Speaker 5: The lawyer.
- 2:19:32Speaker 15: Well, not all lawyers.
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:19:35Speaker 15: AI cannot go into court and argue your case.
- 2:19:38Speaker 23: Okay.
- 2:19:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:19:40Speaker 15: AI can give you parameters of an argument, but they
- 2:19:44Speaker 15: can't do inflection and voice. They can't make a point.
- 2:19:48Speaker 15: They can't present stuff in front of a jury.
- 2:19:51Speaker 7: We're really storytelling.
- 2:19:52Speaker 15: That's what we do. So the AI will replace a
- 2:19:56Speaker 15: lot of legal jobs of lawyers that do corporate work,
- 2:20:01Speaker 15: document preparation, document review.
- 2:20:05Speaker 13: Lawyers, not attorneys.
- 2:20:07Speaker 15: Lawyers.
- 2:20:07Speaker 13: Yeah, lawyers, people who are behind the scenes. Because attorneys,
- 2:20:10Speaker 13: we literally talk for a living, and we're storytellers.
- 2:20:13Speaker 15: In America, we're either known as lawyers or attorneys. But
- 2:20:17Speaker 15: trial lawyers will be affected by AI, but not as
- 2:20:22Speaker 15: much as what I call transactional lawyers. Transactional lawyers are
- 2:20:28Speaker 15: lawyers that write wills, states, corporate documents, things of that sort.
- 2:20:36Speaker 15: those jobs are going to be easily replaced by AI.
- 2:20:39Speaker 13: Contract reviewers.
- 2:20:41Speaker 15: Yeah, contract reviewers, things of that sort.
- 2:20:43Speaker 5: But you would meet with a lawyer or an intake person, say,
- 2:20:46Speaker 5: here's what I want.
- 2:20:47Speaker 15: You meet with an intake person, say, here's my problem,
- 2:20:49Speaker 15: here are my documents, and this lawyer is developing a
- 2:20:54Speaker 15: system where you get all the information, you feed it
- 2:20:57Speaker 15: into the AI, and then you interact with the AI.
- 2:21:02Speaker 15: And then the AI... We'll give you what you need. Now,
- 2:21:08Speaker 15: I have a closed-loop AI system that I use on occasion,
- 2:21:14Speaker 15: but it's really kind of amazing. It learns from you,
- 2:21:18Speaker 15: and you learn from it. So people think you just
- 2:21:21Speaker 15: put things in, and that's the end of it. It
- 2:21:23Speaker 15: is not the end of it. It is a two-way
- 2:21:25Speaker 15: discussion between you and the AI. So I was talking
- 2:21:30Speaker 15: to the AI about something on a case study, And
- 2:21:34Speaker 15: do you know what the AI said to me?
- 2:21:36Speaker 24: What?
- 2:21:36Speaker 15: It said, that's not how Dave Beatrice would argue this case.
- 2:21:40Speaker 15: My mind was blown away.
- 2:21:42Speaker 13: That's hilarious.
- 2:21:42Speaker 15: It was blown away. I was blown away when it
- 2:21:47Speaker 15: said it to me because it was like, oh, my God,
- 2:21:49Speaker 15: it's like knowing me now. I don't like the fact
- 2:21:51Speaker 15: that it's. I like it.
- 2:21:53Speaker 13: I think I like it. We have like a 10-step,
- 2:21:55Speaker 13: 12-step process to calculate spell support that Mark created. And
- 2:22:00Speaker 13: instead of me doing it every single time, I could
- 2:22:02Speaker 13: feed the numbers in. I mean, I check it, but
- 2:22:05Speaker 13: it makes it.
- 2:22:05Speaker 5: A lot easier.
- 2:22:06Speaker 15: I always check it. But I have embraced AI in
- 2:22:09Speaker 15: other parts of my life. So when you are as
- 2:22:12Speaker 15: busy as I am, I was talking on the phone,
- 2:22:17Speaker 15: and I would leave Post-it notes everywhere. So I'd come
- 2:22:21Speaker 15: in the next day, and I'd have 25 Post-it notes
- 2:22:24Speaker 15: all over my computer, on my desk.
- 2:22:26Speaker 13: And then you'd yell about them.
- 2:22:27Speaker 15: And then do this or forget. So I found an AI,
- 2:22:32Speaker 15: and there's a number of different ones, that you stick
- 2:22:36Speaker 15: in your pocket. And you train it to pick up
- 2:22:41Speaker 15: when you need to do something as you're just talking casually.
- 2:22:45Speaker 5: So when you say in your pocket, it's like a hard,
- 2:22:48Speaker 5: like a..
- 2:22:50Speaker 15: It looks like a little black device.
- 2:22:52Speaker 7: It's like a tile, right?
- 2:22:53Speaker 15: Yeah, it looks like a little tile. I stick it
- 2:22:56Speaker 15: in my pocket. And so say I'm talking to a client.
- 2:22:58Speaker 15: Say his name's Ron. I say, okay, Ron, I'll get
- 2:23:01Speaker 15: you those documents over by Tuesday. In the meantime, I
- 2:23:05Speaker 15: need you to send me X, Y, and Z. Now,
- 2:23:07Speaker 15: I'm in my car talking. I'm not writing notes. I'm
- 2:23:10Speaker 15: not writing a to-do list, okay? Then I have five
- 2:23:14Speaker 15: other things come up. And before what would happen was
- 2:23:18Speaker 15: I'd forget that conversation. Now I don't. The AI is
- 2:23:23Speaker 15: able to detect because I've trained it to create to-do
- 2:23:28Speaker 15: lists for me. So when I go home tonight from
- 2:23:32Speaker 15: my day, my AI, now a lot of it, pick
- 2:23:36Speaker 15: up its stupid stuff you know it's it's not perfect
- 2:23:39Speaker 15: but it catches enough that i go oh yeah i
- 2:23:42Speaker 15: remember i got to do that and then it creates
- 2:23:44Speaker 15: a to-do list for me and i print it out
- 2:23:48Speaker 15: or i just go and do it it it's one
- 2:23:51Speaker 15: of the better pieces of ai i have purchased.
- 2:23:54Speaker 5: And has it made a life easier for you i.
- 2:23:56Speaker 15: Mean absolutely it has made it it has amplified my
- 2:24:02Speaker 15: work output That's the best way I.
- 2:24:05Speaker 1: Can do it.
- 2:24:05Speaker 5: So you're more productive and you don't forget to do
- 2:24:09Speaker 5: stuff because it reminds you.
- 2:24:11Speaker 15: Well, I still do forget to do stuff because sometimes
- 2:24:15Speaker 15: I forget to charge it or sometimes I'll leave it
- 2:24:19Speaker 15: in one room and I'm in another room.
- 2:24:21Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 2:24:22Speaker 13: Because you lose your phone like twice a day. How
- 2:24:26Speaker 13: often do you lose?
- 2:24:27Speaker 15: It's in my pocket generally all the time. It's in
- 2:24:30Speaker 15: my pocket.
- 2:24:31Speaker 13: I walk into work and his phone is sitting on
- 2:24:33Speaker 13: his front seat with his Car door wide open and
- 2:24:36Speaker 13: no Dave Beechus around. And he's like, somebody call my phone.
- 2:24:39Speaker 13: Somebody call my phone.
- 2:24:41Speaker 15: Because I will literally be like today. I had to
- 2:24:44Speaker 15: be in Newton Falls Municipal Court. So they have Route
- 2:24:48Speaker 15: 11 blocked off. Then they route you around. And then
- 2:24:51Speaker 15: there was an accident. And it's like a parking lot.
- 2:24:55Speaker 15: We're in orange barrel season. And always when you're in
- 2:24:59Speaker 15: orange barrel season, there's always an accident. And when there's
- 2:25:02Speaker 15: an accident, it just turns into a parking lot. You're, like,
- 2:25:06Speaker 15: sitting there for 30 minutes just watching the minutes go
- 2:25:09Speaker 15: by going, I was supposed to be in court 20
- 2:25:11Speaker 15: minutes ago. Traffic's not moving. This is not looking good
- 2:25:15Speaker 15: for the home team.
- 2:25:16Speaker 13: I had three different courthouses today, and every single time
- 2:25:19Speaker 13: there was a road closed.
- 2:25:20Speaker 33: Yeah.
- 2:25:21Speaker 13: Every single courthouse, like, on the way there.
- 2:25:24Speaker 15: And then we'll leave Orange Barrel season. It'll become winter season.
- 2:25:28Speaker 10: Dun, dun, dun.
- 2:25:30Speaker 39: So..
- 2:25:31Speaker 15: There you go.
- 2:25:32Speaker 5: Somebody emailed me and wants me to ask you, what
- 2:25:35Speaker 5: device does he have?
- 2:25:36Speaker 15: I'll tell you what it's called. I'll tell you exactly
- 2:25:40Speaker 15: what it's called.
- 2:25:41Speaker 1: Is it friendly?
- 2:25:42Speaker 13: What is it called?
- 2:25:43Speaker 15: I'm going to get it up.
- 2:25:46Speaker 5: Is this something you bought on Amazon or something like that?
- 2:25:49Speaker 15: There's a number of them, and I suggest that these
- 2:25:53Speaker 15: people research them.
- 2:25:58Speaker 5: You obviously did, and you thought this was the best one, right?
- 2:26:00Speaker 21: Right.
- 2:26:01Speaker 15: It's your personal wearable AI. It's called F-I-E-L-D-Y. They're up
- 2:26:08Speaker 15: to the third version now. I bought the second version.
- 2:26:11Speaker 5: F-I, how do you spell it?
- 2:26:13Speaker 15: F-I-E-L-D-Y. Fieldy.
- 2:26:18Speaker 13: I personally think it should be renamed so it's like
- 2:26:21Speaker 13: a little bit more funny.
- 2:26:23Speaker 5: Is it expensive?
- 2:26:24Speaker 30: No.
- 2:26:25Speaker 15: Not for what it does for me, it's not. I mean,
- 2:26:29Speaker 15: it catches a lot of stuff you don't need.
- 2:26:31Speaker 13: You bought Frank one too, right?
- 2:26:33Speaker 15: I did, but he doesn't use it. Well, I use mine.
- 2:26:38Speaker 15: Somehow Frank can remember everything. Maybe, you know, I'm having,
- 2:26:42Speaker 15: you know, a senior moment. Lawyers are in their cars
- 2:26:47Speaker 15: a lot. And when you're in your car, you're getting calls. Constantly.
- 2:26:51Speaker 15: Generally from clients. who have problems. Because whether lawyers want
- 2:26:56Speaker 15: to believe this or not, we are in the service business.
- 2:27:01Speaker 15: Any lawyer that doesn't think he's in the service business
- 2:27:04Speaker 15: better rethink his profession. People want their calls returned, their
- 2:27:10Speaker 15: emails returned. And if you're not able to do that,
- 2:27:13Speaker 15: they're not going to be happy with you. So I
- 2:27:17Speaker 15: always give people my number, call me if you have
- 2:27:20Speaker 15: a problem. I've been doing this so long, I know
- 2:27:24Speaker 15: when someone's ready to walk off the cliff. I had
- 2:27:26Speaker 15: a client in the office this week. I go, look,
- 2:27:29Speaker 15: you have a cut in your hand that needs a stitch,
- 2:27:33Speaker 15: and you're acting like you have stage four lung cancer.
- 2:27:37Speaker 15: And I always try to orient them because... I said,
- 2:27:41Speaker 15: let me.
- 2:27:41Speaker 13: Were you talking to my daughter?
- 2:27:43Speaker 15: Well, they start devolving. All of a sudden, the next
- 2:27:47Speaker 15: thing they know, they're going to be living under the
- 2:27:49Speaker 15: Market Street Bridge, homeless, naked, and begging for food. They
- 2:27:54Speaker 15: just let their imagination take over.
- 2:27:56Speaker 13: When they come to us, they're in a low place.
- 2:27:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:27:58Speaker 15: I mean, people never come to lawyers and go, hey,
- 2:28:01Speaker 15: my life's doing great.
- 2:28:02Speaker 1: I know.
- 2:28:03Speaker 15: I just thought I'd share this with you.
- 2:28:04Speaker 13: It's nice to meet you, but I'm really sorry you're
- 2:28:06Speaker 13: here under these circumstances.
- 2:28:07Speaker 8: Right.
- 2:28:07Speaker 13: But it's really nice to meet you.
- 2:28:08Speaker 15: Yeah. And I try to have some compassion because people
- 2:28:12Speaker 15: are stressed out when I'm seeing them.
- 2:28:14Speaker 7: They're going through it.
- 2:28:15Speaker 15: And so I have to obtain information from them. And
- 2:28:19Speaker 15: people always want to vomit all over me information. And
- 2:28:23Speaker 15: I say that kiddingly because I'm on a need-to-know basis.
- 2:28:26Speaker 15: People are always saying they want to tell me everything.
- 2:28:29Speaker 15: I go, look, look, you eat an elephant one bite
- 2:28:32Speaker 15: at a time. When I need to know something, I'll
- 2:28:35Speaker 15: ask you. I have the parameters of your problem. Let's
- 2:28:39Speaker 15: meet again in a couple weeks after I get some
- 2:28:40Speaker 15: research done and see if we can't figure this out
- 2:28:43Speaker 15: for you. In the meantime, if you are at 2
- 2:28:47Speaker 15: o'clock in the morning, and I've had this happen, and
- 2:28:50Speaker 15: you are up and you are contemplating doing something stupid,
- 2:28:55Speaker 15: rather than doing something stupid, give me a call and
- 2:28:57Speaker 15: I'll walk you off the cliff. That's the service you
- 2:29:01Speaker 15: need to provide to clients because it's so stressful now.
- 2:29:05Speaker 15: It just is. And when you're like me, an old
- 2:29:08Speaker 15: war horse, I have so many scars and arrows. I'm
- 2:29:12Speaker 15: like a Neanderthal. Some archaeologist is going to find me
- 2:29:16Speaker 15: one day and go, man, that guy was through a
- 2:29:18Speaker 15: lot of battles. Yeah, I've been through a lot of battles. And, hon,
- 2:29:22Speaker 15: it's just another case, another set of problems that we
- 2:29:25Speaker 15: have to figure out and set the client in the
- 2:29:27Speaker 15: right direction.
