- 0:00Welcome to the one small change. I am thrilled to embark on this
- 0:04journey with you of exploration and transformation. And I'm your host,
- 0:07Yvonne McCoy, and I bring almost thirty years of entrepreneurial
- 0:11experience. And I have a passion for discovering growth through the power
- 0:15of seemingly law, seemingly small change. I can't talk
- 0:19today. And I can't tell you how excited I am that you're taking
- 0:22time out of your busy schedule to join me,
- 0:26for this this episode today. And this week, we are talking
- 0:30to the amazing Cece Schatz, and
- 0:34she's gonna share how a smaller unexpected decision
- 0:37or event sparked a remarkable transformation in
- 0:41both her personal and her business growth. Cece,
- 0:45I hope I do better stumbling over my words today, but I am so happy
- 0:49that you're here and that you've agreed to do this because you were doing some
- 0:53fascinating and interesting things. So tell my
- 0:57audience who you are and what you do and what was the small
- 1:00change that brought you to this place. Oh, thank you so much
- 1:04for having me on the show. It's just such a delight and an honor to
- 1:07be here. And again, my name is Cece Schatz. I've fondly called the
- 1:11Doyan of relationship building. And the reason being is I
- 1:14am a divorce dating and a life coach, a transitional type
- 1:18of coach. And I'm also the founder of the new streaming
- 1:22network, Com, which is the home of Going
- 1:26Solo Media and Going Bold Media and our wonderful
- 1:29radio station, WGSN DB Going Solo Network.
- 1:33So, yeah, I do a live I wear many hats, and, my
- 1:37life is nonstop, and I'm just loving it. Loving it.
- 1:42Well, the thing is, you know, in the quick conversation that we had
- 1:46before, you have got some amazing things that are going
- 1:49on. So so tell us a little bit about your story, and what was the
- 1:53the thing that changes your that changed your projection about what you
- 1:57were doing? Well, I think for me, the biggest thing was, of course, going through
- 2:00a really bad divorce. I went through a terrible divorce in back in
- 2:04o eight. And then as I was trying to create my
- 2:08journey, like, what the heck am I gonna do now and how am I gonna
- 2:11get through life? I, started I joined a divorce
- 2:15group, and it's a long story, so I'll make it try to make it short.
- 2:17But it really empowered me and really made a change in
- 2:21my life. And so it helped me to to kind of propel and move
- 2:25forward, and I wanted to help other people do the same thing. So I took
- 2:28I ended up taking over the group. I, I still have the group now. We're
- 2:32on Facebook. So if anyone wants to join it, you're welcome to do that. And
- 2:36then we also, I have a singles group now, which is singles wanna
- 2:39date, a travel group, which is going solo travelers.
- 2:43We're all on meetup.com. And if you can find the links on
- 2:47going solo network, which is my, my personal,
- 2:51website. But, I mean, it it just, like, all
- 2:54evolved. It kept evolving, going on. And I think the biggest thing is
- 2:58my friends really encouraged me to just keep taking steps
- 3:02forward. The door would open, And I used to finally say, oh, well, a
- 3:05door open, but I got to climb through the window. I've got to make my
- 3:08life harder, you know? So, so it's like, you know,
- 3:12make things very difficult. But I was very fortunate because I went on
- 3:15a show, my girlfriend's show, Connie,
- 3:19and, she does does tremendous work now. And she's got
- 3:23a, it was on victims to survivors. She's got a website
- 3:26helping victims, really become survivors. And,
- 3:30so I went on her show and I came out. They offered me, you know,
- 3:34a radio spot. And I thought, wow, I don't know if I can do this,
- 3:37but I just thought, you know, somebody's offering me it. They see something more within
- 3:41myself than I can see myself. So I'm going to try it, you know? So
- 3:45the first show I did, I thought I was going to pass out. And that
- 3:48was back in about probably 02/2009 or something like that.
- 3:52And, so then I did I did that show, and then it just progressed. It
- 3:56kept growing and growing, and I ended up being on TV and doing all
- 3:59kinds of things. And we had tried a a follower, and and then a
- 4:03friend said, you know, my my group said the divorce group
- 4:06said, you know, we'd like to listen to something in the middle of the night,
- 4:09you know, three when we can't sleep, there's nothing out there.
- 4:13And so a friend said, well, we can fix that up. So he started we
- 4:17started the WGSN DB going solo network, which
- 4:20stands for the, the West Coast Of Florida,
- 4:24and it's, going solo network. That's how the WGSN DB
- 4:28digital broadcasting. So there there are a couple of things that you've touched
- 4:32on already that I think is really important for,
- 4:36our audience. And, you know, since I'm a, you know, a women's business
- 4:40strategist, one of the things that is always important to me is
- 4:44the concept of finding your place, not
- 4:48the place that's been defined for you by society
- 4:52or your family or any of those things. And sometimes
- 4:55it takes a huge shake up to make that
- 4:59happen. I mean, I remember when I lost my job after fifteen
- 5:03years, and I went to the beach and some a
- 5:06marketer came by and said, what do you do? And I started crying and
- 5:10said, I do nothing. Oh my
- 5:14gosh. And it was like, wait. You know? Get yourself I
- 5:18mean, the poor kid. I felt so bad for him. But, you know, you you
- 5:22sometimes you need those wake up calls to or reevaluate.
- 5:25What I would say to people is don't wait for that to happen.
- 5:29You can do that for yourself. And I think as entrepreneurs, we
- 5:33constantly have to do that because the world is constantly
- 5:36changing, and you wanna stay relevant. So that's the first
- 5:40thing is give yourself the gift
- 5:44of saying, where is it that I wanna go? Not where
- 5:48is my family, you know, want me to go? Not where, you know,
- 5:51whatever. But where it where is it that I wanna go, and how can I
- 5:55have a bigger impact and stay relevant? So that's, you know, part of
- 5:59what I got out of out of what you're doing. And the second thing
- 6:03is you didn't say, you
- 6:06know, no. I can't do this because I'm not ready.
- 6:10You jumped in. And I think that's where opportunities
- 6:14happen. You know? You know? There's one person that I
- 6:18follow that says if somebody gives you a mic, you should always take it.
- 6:21Right? And so talk about that a little bit more, like, how
- 6:25people can get themselves ready or be more
- 6:29open to, you know, jumping on unexpected
- 6:32opportunities. Or Right. Because, you know, a
- 6:36lot of a lot of things that happen to me is just opportunities came
- 6:40across. Right? And I was just at the point in my life where I thought,
- 6:43you know what? I'm not looking back. I'm going forward. I'm going to, you
- 6:47know, you know, I think the biggest thing that holds us back is fear. And
- 6:50so I thought, you know what? I'm going to get over this fear. That's like
- 6:53ego. Right. So I'm just going to step forward and try it. And
- 6:57I have to admit, my very first show, I thought I was going to pass
- 6:59out. I mean, they had to take a break because they thought I was going
- 7:02to pass out. But now I do it so easily. I have no
- 7:06problem with it. But it's, you know, I think we just have to step out
- 7:10of ourselves a little bit, step out of the box a little bit and try
- 7:13something new if an opportunity is there for you. And don't
- 7:17wait to be perfect. I mean, you can see my background. I'm not perfect. I,
- 7:21you know, I have a little office here in the in the guest room. And
- 7:24I'm, you know, my my audience loves it. They don't care. They don't
- 7:28care because what they care about is the content that we we give
- 7:31them. And so, you know, as I was progressing on, I
- 7:35realized that no one was marketing my shows. No one was doing anything. I
- 7:39was paying, you know, good money for the shows, and they weren't being
- 7:42marketed. And I thought, I've got to get out there and and start marketing and
- 7:46doing other things. So I start putting myself all over the place. Right?
- 7:50And a lot of people said, oh, you're podcasting. You shouldn't do that. You should
- 7:53dress, drive them to your website. Don't don't put yourself out there. And I thought,
- 7:57well, I gotta go where they are. So I need to be where people are
- 8:01listening so they can get to know me, and then they'll wanna come to my
- 8:04website. They'll wanna come to our to our stuff. And so I
- 8:07started marketing, then I started talking to friends that were doing the same type of,
- 8:11you know, podcasting and TV shows and whatever, and they weren't
- 8:15really being marketed. So I thought, well, you know, let's join
- 8:18forces. And so that's how we came up with the new streaming. It
- 8:22started as going solo media. And, then
- 8:26I thought, well, we need to broaden it because we need more inspirational things. We
- 8:29need business. So then we started the going bold and then now we're
- 8:33bringing it all under under one roof, which is the new streaming
- 8:36network. But it all started with really thinking outside of
- 8:40the box and not being perfect. You know? You you have you
- 8:44have to just step forward in life. You can't wait and and
- 8:48make everything, you know, absolutely perfect. You just gotta go for it.
- 8:52But the thing that the the thing that I find interesting about that and the
- 8:55things that I tell my clients all the time is try something
- 8:59while you're still growing. Right? Because if you wait
- 9:03till you're well known and you try something and
- 9:07you're not good at it, well, if you try it when when nobody knows you,
- 9:10you nobody's gonna see it and you can make all those mistakes and then later
- 9:13on you'll be really good at it. So that's, you know, kind of my, you
- 9:17know, thought about that. But the other thing I think that you said
- 9:21that was so important is
- 9:26the not being perfect is the thing that makes you stand
- 9:29out, I think. Do you know? First of all, we always we we
- 9:33hated the perfect kid. It's always the one
- 9:37that was I know. Yeah. Yeah. And and so we I think people
- 9:41relate to you better when they realize that, you know,
- 9:45that you have some things that you stumble on. And I always say I
- 9:48always say, you know it's live because
- 9:52the mistakes I'm not cutting out the mistakes, and they are what they are.
- 9:56And that that's who I am. Right? And you don't if if you don't put
- 9:59yourself on a pedestal, you don't have to worry about getting knocked off.
- 10:03Right? Right. And so I always laugh when people go, oh, you know, you you're
- 10:07really showing up. It's like, yeah. It's taken you know, I'm like the fifteen year
- 10:10overnight success kind of thing. So so, you
- 10:14know, you just keep trying to do the things. So let me just
- 10:18ask you real fast. You were also talking about marketing.
- 10:22Mhmm. So, you know, I feel like you have to do the right thing that's
- 10:26right for you. Right? So talk about some of the things that you
- 10:29tried in marketing, how you said this, you know, was good, this
- 10:33wasn't good. And and and the very fact that
- 10:37you can't wait for somebody to market you. Marketing is
- 10:41an active kind of thing, and, you know, it's your
- 10:44responsibility. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. I
- 10:48think like what you said, number one thing is to be authentic. Be who you
- 10:52are. And and then people will be drawn to you because
- 10:56they'll they'll be interested in what you have to say, what you look like because
- 11:00you look like them. Right? You're not somebody that's absolutely
- 11:03whatever. And so, you know, you're just like an everyday person, and
- 11:07so they're drawn to that. And I think the marketing goes it's just
- 11:11not be afraid to do certain things. I mean,
- 11:14there's there's elements within marketing that we need to do. Like, you know, we create
- 11:18a logo and, you know, we figure out our colors and maybe do a website
- 11:22or whatever. But the the reality is is do something
- 11:26because so many people think that it it's just going
- 11:29to come to you, and it's not gonna happen because you've
- 11:33gotta gotta continuously doing something. And the reason for that is
- 11:37that you're building up your own personal momentum.
- 11:41Right? And it's not really about the audience out
- 11:44there. It's about you yourself. It's the energy that you're
- 11:48giving off. And so when they do come to listen to you and if you've
- 11:52got that high frequency energy, they're gonna be
- 11:55drawn to you just naturally. And so you've got to continue
- 11:59continue to do stuff and just think out of the box and and be
- 12:03yourself, and, people will be drawn to that.
- 12:07And and and one of the things that I think is funny is,
- 12:11you know, if you think back on your life and think about when you were
- 12:14a kid, the thing that your parents told you not to
- 12:17do is probably the thing you should be doing.
- 12:21You know? Like, my family goes, you you know, you always fix
- 12:25things. You know? You're you you know, you wanna find the answer. You wanna get
- 12:28a solution. And that's true. I think of myself as, you
- 12:32know, I'm a strategist. I'm looking for strategies you can implement
- 12:36and get results. But when I was younger, people were like, stop, you know,
- 12:40stop telling me how to do this. Don't, you know, and that is
- 12:44my gift. My gift is how to get you from point A to point B
- 12:47as fast as possible, you know, and see see what you've
- 12:51got. So if you were if you were,
- 12:58you you know, you were talking about pick your brand, pick your logo, and stuff
- 13:01like that. The thing that I would say about that is
- 13:06I think that's important, but don't let it stop you. I
- 13:10mean, there are people who have had an immense amount of success without
- 13:13websites and, you know, whatever. But that was
- 13:17that was their thing. And so that's not
- 13:21for everybody, but it shouldn't keep you from starting. And
- 13:24sometimes the more you're out there, the more you get
- 13:29clarification on where to show up, how to show up,
- 13:33what you need to say, and it's it's evolving. So I always
- 13:36laugh because, one of the first podcasts I did
- 13:40was with somebody who was an image person.
- 13:44And she's like, oh my god. You should always wear red. And I'm
- 13:48like, you know, red is not really my first choice in color. I mean, I
- 13:51like red, but it's you know, I'm more of a burgundy person,
- 13:55because it leans towards the blue. And every time I wear red,
- 13:59everybody was like, oh my god. You really pop in red. And I'm like,
- 14:03oh, so maybe and now when I do my workshop,
- 14:07I have a slide. Because my thing is you don't need to be fixed. You
- 14:09need to be found. It's a slide with a bunch of white balls with one
- 14:13red one. And I wear a red top and I go see, see,
- 14:18See? So you find something that works for you that's fun. So alright. So
- 14:21you were such a vast you have got so much
- 14:25information. If you were going to talk about I'd like to
- 14:29kinda stay in the marketing a little bit if that's okay. If you were
- 14:32gonna talk about three things that people could do,
- 14:36three small things that people could do that would get
- 14:40them results that, you know, they don't have to, like, invent a
- 14:43program or a huge amount of content and that kind of stuff, what would you
- 14:47say to them? What would you tell them to do? Well,
- 14:50again, I I think the biggest thing is, like, don't be perfect. Don't
- 14:54invest in a lot of expensive equipment. You
- 14:58know, like, when you're doing a podcast or show like that,
- 15:01you know, you need decent equipment. Don't don't get me wrong, but you don't need
- 15:05to have the top of the line. I mean, the equipment I have is simple.
- 15:08It's, I didn't spend a great deal of money on it, and I've had it
- 15:11for a long time. And I've always think if it's not broken, don't fix it.
- 15:15And so it's coming across. It's doing the job and it's
- 15:19getting done. I again, I think the marketing thing
- 15:23is you want to not hold yourself back because we hold
- 15:26ourselves back. So you want to be able to move forward and
- 15:30and really start grabbing a hold of what technology has to
- 15:34offer. I mean, we've gone from I mean, I've been in this business for years.
- 15:37I've started with the radio, and I went all Internet based. So a lot of
- 15:41people said, oh, you need to go on regular television. You need to do all
- 15:44this stuff. But it was so expensive that I knew that I could not afford
- 15:48doing that. And if I did, it was going to just cripple me all the
- 15:51time. So I just stuck with the Internet route because I personally
- 15:55felt Internet's gonna be our future. This is technology. It's gonna be our
- 15:58future. And so we went from the radio to the podcast, and now we're going
- 16:02from the TV, and we're it's broadening. Even the TV
- 16:06is broadening further because there's more things that we're doing, like, within the
- 16:10TV range. And so you want to be able to
- 16:13grab a hold of some of those things and maybe possibly look
- 16:17at what you're doing because you wanna keep your your dollars
- 16:21down. So, you know, like our network, the new streaming network,
- 16:25we do so much and we're on like almost 60 some
- 16:28platforms now. We're doing what we call streaming, which
- 16:31is, kind of like what you see now, but they pick up our
- 16:35stream. So what we do is we do a live show, they pick up our
- 16:38stream and it streams on out. The only disadvantage that has to
- 16:42me is that I can't give you the stats on it, but I figure, like,
- 16:45what the heck, man? If I can get myself on, you
- 16:48know, three or four different TV stations and they're picking up my
- 16:52stream and going live with me, I'm not going to worry about the stats.
- 16:56I mean, I'm just going to get out there. Right? And so I've been
- 17:00that's funny. I'll go to a meeting, I'll go to someone, they go, oh, yeah,
- 17:03we've seen you. We heard all about you. It's like, thank
- 17:07you very much. I really. That's right.
- 17:11I want to be a thorn. So yeah. I think the thing
- 17:14that that we, as entrepreneurs,
- 17:18have a struggle with, okay, at least I
- 17:22did, is that it is taking people longer
- 17:26to engage. You know, it used to be, like, seven times or something.
- 17:29Now it's, like, 12. Mhmm. It also is
- 17:35we were not taught to toot our own horn. So the idea that
- 17:39you would put something out or post something out and say, come to my
- 17:42workshop, come to my workshop, come to my do you know? It's like, oh my
- 17:45god. These people are gonna be so but I think that if whatever you're
- 17:49doing, you probably could still do more. And that's a really
- 17:53uncomfortable place. So that's why it's so good to be on, I think, a lot
- 17:57of different platforms because you don't know who you're gonna
- 18:00see. But I think, again, you need to do it in your own way.
- 18:04So for instance, I do my newsletter, and I take the same thing and put
- 18:08it in LinkedIn and Facebook and Instagram. It's not the Facebook
- 18:11format. It's not the Instagram format, but that's me. If I
- 18:15couldn't do it that way, I probably wouldn't do it at all. I wouldn't spend
- 18:18the time doing it. Do you know? And so I think
- 18:21that you what what you're a great
- 18:25example of is that you have something to share, and you're making it
- 18:28widely available. And you need to do that.
- 18:32And within that wide reach, you're still being very specific
- 18:37Mhmm. About the audit. You know? So you've got the travel you know, the the
- 18:41singles kind of theme, the thread that goes
- 18:45through it. Right? So you're like travel as you're single,
- 18:48what you're doing after divorce, meet you know, meetups, and those
- 18:52kind of thing. So it has the same similar theme, and yet there
- 18:56are lots of different ways to enter your world. Mhmm.
- 19:00Mhmm. Absolutely. Yeah. I I think that's that's the key
- 19:03is to really get yourself out there and and do a lot of different things
- 19:07and also get your get yourself on. Like, for
- 19:11instance, if you have a podcast or you have something like that, it's important to
- 19:13have guests like you're having me on. Right. Because you're not only
- 19:17going then I'm going to be capturing your audience and you're going to be
- 19:21capturing my audience listening and saying, oh,
- 19:24yeah, let's see what she did. You know, who is this lady? You know, let's
- 19:28let's see a little bit more about that. So it's important to have guests on
- 19:32your shows and for you to be a guest. Right. And
- 19:35so a lot of, individuals don't necessarily do that when they're when you're
- 19:39coming to marketing, they don't, get on other
- 19:42people's shows, and they really should get on them and then have
- 19:46them come on their show and talk about a particular
- 19:49topic. So
- 19:53we talked about some simple steps people can take. Mhmm.
- 19:57Right? So tell us about your freebie and what the best way is to
- 20:00use that. Well, if anybody wants to contact me,
- 20:05I usually give a thirty minute consultation. We can talk about really
- 20:08anything that you're that you're struggling with because I am a
- 20:12transitional coach. And then, also, you know, I do the divorce
- 20:15dating. And then, and I'm really,
- 20:19immersed, I think, into the media now. And so, so if
- 20:23you've got a podcast or you have a, you know, a platform or something like
- 20:27that that you maybe feel like you're a little bit stuck or you wanna do
- 20:29something different, I'd love to be able to talk to someone. We have
- 20:33various different shows. You know, on our platform, we have at least, I
- 20:37think, anywhere from 15 to 18 shows per week we're doing
- 20:40now, and, and we'd like to grow that. So, yeah, so
- 20:44we'd love to be able to have you on board if you wanna talk about
- 20:47it. But, yeah, I don't charge for consultation. So if you wanna,
- 20:51contact me, you can just go to
- 20:52goingsolonetwork@gmail.com. That's my,
- 20:57email, and just reach out to me and say you wanna chat, and I'm I'm
- 21:00happy to, to book a time with you and to do that. And I
- 21:04think in the show notes, we're gonna have my calendar so people can
- 21:08actually, book it through the calendar if they want. But, yeah, I would love to
- 21:11be able to talk to people and and help you in any way any way
- 21:14you need it. And and I just wanna remind people
- 21:19that the gift of somebody else's time
- 21:23is priceless, and it can be so helpful,
- 21:27bringing a totally different perspective to you. And it's not
- 21:31something that you necessarily have to be ready for. I
- 21:34mean, I I can't tell you how many people go, I'm I'm not ready. You
- 21:38know? Well, the point is that you're never gonna get ready unless you get some
- 21:41insight to get move you from where you are. And so, you
- 21:45know, Cece has got the most amazing experiences. She
- 21:49knows stuff. She knows people. She's in
- 21:53it for the transition, whatever transition you're struggling with.
- 21:56So I can't imagine that you could actually finish up in
- 21:59thirty minutes with all the possibilities, and you would
- 22:03be really short changing yourself not to take
- 22:06advantage of this. So it is a fantastic gift, and
- 22:10I would encourage everybody to take advantage of it.
- 22:14So let me ask you this. When was the
- 22:18last time you did something new for the first time?
- 22:22Well, we were talking about that prior to the show, and I wanted to share
- 22:25with the audience that I have written a book. And it's called Own the
- 22:29Mic, Stop Step Into the Spotlight, Launch Your
- 22:32Show of Your Dreams. So that's my first book that I have
- 22:36solely written. I'm gonna create a whole series, the news
- 22:40streaming network create creator series, and you can get it on
- 22:43Amazon. So the Kindle book, is already out there and the paperback
- 22:47book is out there. So if you wanna, purchase the book, I would be
- 22:51honored to have you, you know, purchase book and then maybe give
- 22:54me a review, you know, if you'd like, I I would love that.
- 22:58And so I think that's, you know, probably one of the things I've kind of
- 23:02put myself out there because I haven't, you know, really done something
- 23:06like that before. Then the other thing is I think we have
- 23:10to have a balance between, you know, personal life and business.
- 23:13Right? And so I do a lot of things in my community, like the
- 23:17dating stuff and the and the divorce stuff, and I have a
- 23:20great great group of friends. And so this week, oh, we went to the beach
- 23:24for the first time. So we, we dipped our toes in the water,
- 23:28which was a little chilly for Florida, but we enjoyed it. It was still
- 23:32okay. But we had a great time sitting out there, and then we went to
- 23:35lunch and and just had a wonderful, wonderful time. So I
- 23:39think you do have to create a balance for yourself. And,
- 23:43yeah, and that's not always easy to do when you have your own business, you
- 23:46know, to be able to stop and and smell the roses, so to speak. But,
- 23:50yeah, we have to do that. Well, I always say I always say,
- 23:55you know, you can't divide your personal and your professional because you're one
- 23:59person, right, unless you wanna be, like, psycho. But it's kinda
- 24:02like a water bed. Do you know? It's like it's
- 24:06about you're keeping the container, but the water
- 24:10is going in different places. This is just shows you how old I am. How
- 24:13long has it been someone who's had water beds? But anyway but the
- 24:16thing is is, you know, there are times when you're gonna put more time into
- 24:20your business, more time you know, and you need to you need to plan for
- 24:23your your vacation and and personal time for sure. I
- 24:26mean, I would say to anybody, when I talk to them about blocking out their
- 24:30calendar, I go put your personal time in there first. Because
- 24:34otherwise, your business time is just gonna, you know, expand. And I
- 24:38did the same thing. I, you know, I I was telling you that I I
- 24:41have a a a chocolate lab. And, you know,
- 24:45we've always had labs, and when the idea was we're water people, let's get them
- 24:49to work, and we never do. So I we I actually said to my husband
- 24:52on Saturday, we're going to the beach on Sunday, you know, because the
- 24:56cutoff for dogs was at the end of the month. So, yes, do
- 25:00something and you, you know, you come back. When you do when you
- 25:03spend time in your personal life, I think you come back to your business
- 25:07life more energized and more focused and more
- 25:11grounded. Because isn't that why you're one of the reasons you're doing your business? It's
- 25:14it's to help people and have an impact. But it's also to have a great
- 25:17life and to feel, you know, that you're doing something.
- 25:21Yeah. And I like the idea of trying to do something new. You know,
- 25:25like, if you take, like, every week, try to do something new, something different you
- 25:28haven't done before. Right? And, I have a good friend, Joanne
- 25:32Wylan, which I know that you know, and lovely. And
- 25:35she she what she does is when she goes somewhere, like
- 25:39goes to a meeting, she'll she'll do her GPS thing or whatever,
- 25:43and she goes one way, but she never comes back the same
- 25:46way. She always comes back a different way. And I thought I
- 25:50thought, man, that is so smart because, you know, she's really
- 25:54she's doing a different experience. She's having a different experience each time she
- 25:58does something. So it's like, do something a little bit different. Shake it up.
- 26:02Get out of the box. You know? It doesn't have to be huge. Mhmm.
- 26:05It's a mindset. And and I laugh at that because I read a
- 26:09book years ago, and one of the things was the rule of rigidity. It's like,
- 26:13if we did it this way, we always do it this way. And I
- 26:16realized how stuck I was like that.
- 26:20That if I drove, I always drove in the same lane. I always
- 26:24moved over the and so I started doing the same thing. It was
- 26:28like, I would try to make sure that I didn't turn at the
- 26:31same place that I turned someplace just to see what there was.
- 26:35Do you know? So I you know, I could say I'm an explorer, even
- 26:39though I might only be, like, a block off where I normally was. You know?
- 26:43But it's a it's it's a mindset, and I think that is the
- 26:46thing in terms of getting out there is that you just have to,
- 26:50you know, kinda have that, I'm an explorer. What can I find? What's
- 26:54great? What can I share with other people about the the journey that I'm
- 26:57on? Yeah.
- 27:01This is I I I feel like we could just keep going and going, but
- 27:05we can't. I'm sure we could. It's like it's like when you when you talked
- 27:08about I mean, I can have funny stories too, but when you talked about, like,
- 27:11when you were young, and I remember I I've shared this story on on other
- 27:15places, but, my mother always said, you know, you just got such a
- 27:19gift for GAP, right? Why do you you know, you're because I got in trouble
- 27:23in school, right? And she goes, Why? Why do you talk? Why you talk all
- 27:26the time? You have to stop talking all the time. What are you going to
- 27:28do for the rest of your life if all you do is talk? And here
- 27:31I am, a talk show host. Yeah. So, mom,
- 27:36what can I tell you? Look at me now, mom.
- 27:40Yeah. See, I'm sure you're up above in heaven. She is laughing about it.
- 27:44But yeah. But it is true. So you were right. You know, when
- 27:48when you're young, sometimes you do kinda know your path. Yeah. So
- 27:51you have to You know, you can I you know, I see the I see
- 27:55the pattern? You know, once I've, like, kind of identified what
- 27:59I'm good at, I see the pattern, you know, of where I did
- 28:02that in my in my whole life and and so many times was discouraged
- 28:06not to do it. And I think that's the thing that is
- 28:10very sad because, you know,
- 28:14my favorite saying is Bookmaster Fuller, who says we were all born
- 28:17geniuses and then it's educated out of us. And that's true. You
- 28:21you you know, you're taught to, you know, to act a certain way and to
- 28:25speak a certain way and to do you know, that kind of thing. Anyway,
- 28:28we're running out of time. I gotta I gotta stick it in in the commercial.
- 28:33And so I would hope that those of you that are listening here will,
- 28:37subscribe and share this and engage with the podcast on social
- 28:40media. And one of the reasons I did this is I wanted
- 28:44to do something vibrant for my community.
- 28:48I wanted to give back so that you could have some additional
- 28:52information and meet new people so that you can grow your impact and
- 28:56grow your business. So I hope that you will continue to join me on the
- 28:59one small change. And on this journey that we're going on, I
- 29:03hope that if you haven't seen it yet, I have, my first episode
- 29:07explains why I'm doing this. And I've also started doing because I like
- 29:10to talk. I also started doing the quarterly clarity
- 29:14check-in, which is just me talking about things that you should look at
- 29:18as we go into the new quarter, whatever that quarter happens to be.
- 29:21So so, Cece, give me some words of wisdom. What's your last
- 29:25parting word for us? Well, I think the biggest thing
- 29:29is, like, don't let fear hold you back. You know, be
- 29:32you. No matter what you do, be you and and just go
- 29:36forward. Just, you know, if you've got an idea that you
- 29:39wanna do something, do it because that is that that
- 29:43is like the universe telling you that you've got to get out there and do
- 29:47that. So don't hesitate. Don't make it perfect. Don't think you have to
- 29:50have all the proper equipment. Just do whatever it is
- 29:54that's telling you to do it. If you need to change jobs, if you need
- 29:57to whatever you need to do, you know, and, you know,
- 30:01and get a circle of friends or get a circle of peers
- 30:04that you can lean on and go to. Because I'm I'm here
- 30:08today simply because of those people that said kept pushing you and say,
- 30:12yeah. Yeah. You can do this. You can do this. You could just go try
- 30:15it. Go try it. So yeah. So don't let fear hold you
- 30:18back. Absolutely. Absolutely. So that's
- 30:22it for this episode. And as always remember, the
- 30:25change is simple, but it's not always easy. And it requires that you
- 30:29step out of your comfort zone and you have to have a willingness to be
- 30:33able to pick yourself up if it doesn't work. And that is part
- 30:36of the journey when you learn things. So I hope you will
- 30:40stay tuned and come in next time. Until then, stay
- 30:44curious, everybody.
