- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome back to the North Florida Sports Network.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It's a football Monday.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I got my man, jimmy Reno, back in the studio.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of games.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So we need to get to that.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We did not get to, that's right.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We're gonna dive deeper into FSU's win in Syracuse.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Dominate win.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe look ahead a little bit.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Big ACC showdown with Duke Was it 1994 or something man.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Wow, it's pretty crazy.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Never lost to Duke.
- 0:48Speaker 2: No, we haven't.
- 0:49Speaker 2: This is the second time in history that they've come into the dope with the legit squad.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Last time we put it on 94.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Spence Fisher didn't have a chance.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We're gonna talk some other college football.
- 1:09Speaker 1: All of it, man, We'll go over the landscape.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Talk about the Heisman race.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Got a little bit of a shake up.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, kather Williams shut down South Bend.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Not just shut down, embarrassed.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Looks like a scrub out there.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Right, all that stuff did not work.
- 1:35Speaker 2: No, hey, man, al Golden, that's their DC up there in South Bend.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, the former Miami head coaches are doing really well at D coordinators.
- 1:49Speaker 1: You got Al Golden at Notre Dame.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You got Manny up there, happy Valley right here.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I wonder what hey Coordinator job you know that Mario might get, because Miami's with another loss.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Right now he's looking at waste management.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Right but that we'll start there.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Man, let's just start there.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Since we're on the Miami topic, All right man.
- 2:21Speaker 1: They lost.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They're not ranked anymore.
- 2:23Speaker 2: No, and like we said, man, I don't think they lost because they don't have as much talent as North Carolina.
- 2:34Speaker 2: That just looks like a focus problem.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it was.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You can see the talent that they do have.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Right, and they're going to bring in more talent.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, because nobody's ever doubted his ability to recruit Right.
- 2:51Speaker 2: But man, that I don't know.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I don't know what went on with the.
- 2:54Speaker 2: You know I was watching without sound when Ghidri, the defensive coordinator, got flagged.
- 2:59Speaker 1: He was upset, but still.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's kind of, but man, yeah, I don't know.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I expected first of all, I expected defense to do better from Miami.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I had a little more faith in them than I think I should have.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Reuben Bain is a monster, though I will say that he is.
- 3:18Speaker 2: He's one of the best defensive linemen in the conference soon to be in the country.
- 3:24Speaker 2: But, man, I tell you what, the Vontez Walker, that wide receiver, he just he torched him.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it did.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You know it's walkers.
- 3:35Speaker 2: You can see why they were upset about not having him because he takes it to another level, oh so Drake may, every time I see him, I you know he's more impressive, right.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Just some of the throws he does make.
- 3:50Speaker 2: He has the ability to make.
- 3:53Speaker 1: He didn't make the negative play.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, wasn't really as efficient as he has been.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You got to get a few lucky bounces there in the first half that sack fumble that went right to yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Right, but that was.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That was a big one for Miami.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Man, we're going to, we're going to see what's up with them this week, dude, if they can, yeah they have Clemson coming down there.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It's a huge game for their O and two in the ACC facing O and three.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and everybody, everybody in the country is expecting them to lose and spiral.
- 4:23Speaker 2: So, you're going to have to buck what everybody's expecting out of you.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So it'll be.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It'll be something to watch, man I but that was.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I don't know if anybody's going to get UNC in the regular season.
- 4:36Speaker 1: No, that's a good point.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I don't, I don't think they don't look unbeatable, that offensive line especially, but yeah they have playmakers on defense now.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and Chiswick's been there a few years so but they're still vulnerable.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you can still torch them through the air, but they had, like I don't think, anybody else that they have on their schedule.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It looks like you know.
- 5:03Speaker 1: You know they're going to be favored, just like Florida States can be favored to match up in Charlotte.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that would be.
- 5:10Speaker 1: you'll see what hat and Duke sitting there playing them both.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So right, and I personally don't think Riley Leonard will be playing this weekend, but by the end of the season against North Carolina.
- 5:21Speaker 2: That's a different story.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So we'll see.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll go there next.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Duke was able to beat NC State and Lee with the backup and they're coming down to Tallahassee this Saturday night.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I saw Elko on the set immediately after the game.
- 5:41Speaker 1: He's saying it's day to day.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, day to day.
- 5:44Speaker 2: There's not a whole lot on the on the internet machine that that is as optimistic as that.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I Would be shocked if he played, or you if he does try to give it a go.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It's definitely not gonna be a hundred percent, so We'll see.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Like we were saying, man, you prepare for Riley Leonard.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Either way, there's nothing that the backup has that Riley Leonard doesn't.
- 6:09Speaker 2: There's no kind of wrinkle, mm-hmm, so it really shouldn't change anything what impresses me most about Duke is the defense.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and Elko is one of the best defense of coordinators and now he's the head coach.
- 6:22Speaker 1: He's always had a good defense.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he was man, he was a wake for us, he was confused in the hell out of Jim bow and when he was here, went to Notre Dame.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Mm-hmm best defenses there.
- 6:34Speaker 2: In the couple years he was there had a and M.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Right only one of the, at least with past defense, and that's really what confused in C state was that zone that they run and they they're really sound defensively.
- 6:46Speaker 1: We need to run the ball.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, they can get some pressure with the front right so it's, this is gonna be.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You know it's not Clemson level in terms of skill, but I think, you know, I don't think it's out of the question to say that they're gonna play more sound or as sound.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They play well the deep, their defenses played well every time out.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Mean they made offenses look bad right and there's no expo.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I know they haven't faced an offense like they will this weekend in Florida State.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So Florida State with the big 41 to 3 Victory.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But you know a lot of that.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You had a couple touchdowns at the end and you know you were playing Syracuse who was really clearly how matched, yeah, yeah if you were.
- 7:33Speaker 1: You know the offense Kind of looks luggage at points in the first half with some drops.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah, drops will kill momentum Couple questionable, questionable play calls.
- 7:47Speaker 2: You know, going forward on fourth down, dude, I wouldn't have a big problem with it when they when they went in the red zone for it on fourth down Instead of just kicking the field goal, if they hadn't done the three Dumbest plays on first, second and third.
- 8:02Speaker 2: You get the ball at the six yard line.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Just line up and run it.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Had on a hat, dude, they're good enough to do that.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I don't think you have to get cute at the goal line anymore.
- 8:11Speaker 2: The other fourth down they went for when they tried the Wildcat was ridiculous.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I think it's the one.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Jordan Travis was arguing with the sidelines Trying to tell him like, hey, there's like a yard and a half this Wildcat shit.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Didn't get a word.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's, but that's it.
- 8:27Speaker 2: You're nitpicking, right?
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah, little things that killed momentum.
- 8:33Speaker 1: On the defensive side of the ball, though it looked Dominant, like you wanted to see yeah, especially up front.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Mm-hmm you know they Recognize early that they could dominate up front and they did for the entire game.
- 8:48Speaker 1: They said DJ Lundy getting the snaps rotated to coming down.
- 8:52Speaker 1: He looked phenomenal the whole game.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yep looked really good.
- 8:56Speaker 1: He's look better all year.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's.
- 8:58Speaker 2: He's been a kid that developed year by year.
- 9:00Speaker 2: It's been.
- 9:01Speaker 2: It's probably somebody that should have been red-shirting and on scout team for his first year or two here, but by necessity he had to play.
- 9:09Speaker 2: So he took his lumps on the field for everybody to see, but he's finally Rounding into like what a linebacker, what you want him to look like.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I Mean, yeah, dominant, I don't, I don't know that.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Back out there, shaheen Brown, with the best game he's had here and yeah, lot of guys played really well, really sound.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You know, not a lot of miss tackles.
- 9:34Speaker 2: They did have a hundred yard brush, or you're right?
- 9:38Speaker 2: That was it, quinn.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Allen yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 2: But again, that was pretty much the only way that they were able to survive.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It was just giving them the ball straight up the gut.
- 9:46Speaker 2: You know, it didn't bust any, any chunk yards really well, that's what Duke's gonna try to do.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna try to hold the ball.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You're gonna try to keep the ball away from the offense limit, confuse the offense and limit their chances right, and that's Riley.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Leonard is really good at that, fitting that style of play.
- 10:07Speaker 2: So if he plays then you know it changes the game.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You need to prepare for him, yeah, and like you said, you're gonna get the similar version, if not him Capable backup.
- 10:19Speaker 1: He played well.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he's.
- 10:21Speaker 2: You know, he's kind of just like a.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Red shirt fresh lesser inexperienced version of Leonard right and that's same.
- 10:28Speaker 2: There's a lot of it's a lot of staff familiarity going on here with with the two two teams as well.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So I think they'll.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It's gonna be interesting to see Elko versus Norvell yeah both head coaches, both kind of run their side of the ball.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they both pretty much do the play calling to on that side of the ball right.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Does Elko call the defensive calls?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I think it's.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It's kind of a similar situation.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Well, that's gonna be an interesting that.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm really I'm looking forward to seeing that matchup between FSU's offense and Duke's defense.
- 11:03Speaker 1: What how they're gonna play it.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah it.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I mean it's gonna be one in the trenches.
- 11:08Speaker 2: So you you got a Offensive line is gonna have to bring it Mm-hmm, that is.
- 11:15Speaker 2: That's gonna be huge man.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It's a night game for the Seminoles, which will, I think, benefit them.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It's gonna be a sellout at Doe Campbell Stadium, and so we're looking forward to that game big time.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I said, man, it's been a while since the Blue Devils were their ones bringing the party to town.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But right.
- 11:32Speaker 2: They're legit.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:35Speaker 2: You gotta treat them like they're a real opponent coming in here.
- 11:37Speaker 2: So you're right, I think it should be a rocking atmosphere.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Big news around the country Georgia Titan Bowers is out for the year.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Oh man, yeah, damn, that's a big one.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:55Speaker 2: That's what like 80% of their passing game right there at least, yeah.
- 12:00Speaker 1: They have.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I mean they.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Will this benefit them overall?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Maybe they'll have other playmakers they have plenty of talent but obviously it's gonna hurt.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the Titan spot man, that's the QBs.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Bailout when things are breaking down.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You know he was, you watch him.
- 12:20Speaker 2: You watch the way that Beck uses him.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's a lot like Mahomes uses Kelsey.
- 12:25Speaker 2: It's just like you know.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I'll just scan the field and then come back to him when I have to.
- 12:32Speaker 1: That's big news.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big loss for him.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but the game of the week last week was Washington Oregon.
- 12:39Speaker 1: It was a great game.
- 12:42Speaker 2: It was A great setting.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I didn't see a single second.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I watched it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: It was an awesome back and forth battle.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Oregon came out aggressive.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I mean they went for it.
- 12:51Speaker 1: You know there was a couple of times they might have, but they were going for it all game.
- 12:55Speaker 2: You know that was the way they.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That was the mentality they came into.
- 12:58Speaker 2: It's one of those analytical coaches that's just gonna.
- 13:00Speaker 1: You know there's no but it came down to a kick and the Oregon kicker missed it.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Wide right.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yep, it did look like that wide right from FSU.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It looked like it was good the whole time and then it just like a foot to the right.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the Niners, their first loss of the season.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yesterday you called it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's clean Going to Cleveland, yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It's the Sucks zone.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It was a Sucks zone the whole slate.
- 13:27Speaker 1: There wasn't really that many good games.
- 13:30Speaker 2: The Sucks zone and South Bend with USC.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yeah, there was there too.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Dude, alex Grinch man, what did you see?
- 13:38Speaker 2: What did you see?
- 13:40Speaker 2: That that Lincoln Riley or somebody like that, you keep getting work at this level?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, what did they?
- 13:50Speaker 2: What did Notre Dame?
- 13:51Speaker 2: 48 points.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really, though they didn't get any help from their offense.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Oh no, no, that was the shot.
- 13:59Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is, like you know, you're going up there to South Bend.
- 14:03Speaker 2: You're playing against Marcus Freeman and Al Golden, who's been a defensive coordinator at both levels Right.
- 14:08Speaker 2: You know he's gonna put together as good a scheme as you're gonna face Like dude.
- 14:14Speaker 2: You gotta make a stop or two.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, come on yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Get some momentum back for your offense, make a stop, get good field position.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And yeah, caleb Williams looked awful.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I think he's, uh, clearly out of the front runner right guys been raised yeah so Peanuts probably is the front-runner now.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I think yeah, cuz he looked really good.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Hot name of the week.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Man Bono looks good in that game.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I would probably say Peanuts and Gabriel would deserve to be one and two.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I don't think bono is not is out of it just for losing a game, but right now the two Guys that have looked the best in the two biggest games.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It's an award that goes to the quarterbacks on the teams with the best records.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That's just the yeah the truth of it.
- 14:58Speaker 2: So and that's you scan college football.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Is there any running back that's standing out as the guy that that Far and away the best back in college football.
- 15:07Speaker 2: That's just running away with any of that.
- 15:10Speaker 2: No.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I mean it's really been a quarterback heavy.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I mean you could have receiver Devonta Smith won it.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Is there anybody that ever see her?
- 15:19Speaker 1: that's right you would have to have one, a special season, and there's nobody it looks like you had maybe a guy like Harrison, but he's not putting up the numbers and the ability.
- 15:28Speaker 1: None of the receivers.
- 15:29Speaker 1: There's some that are having games and the guy out there in Washington's having a good year too.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you know old number four down here.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, coleman had a great game.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's a couple, but you, to be able to do it at that position, has to be almost like a video game every, putting up sick numbers every week, yeah, every week and it the this year.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It seems wide open now, with Kayla Williams having the really does.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It wasn't that they lost.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It was that he was the reason they lost.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It looked like at the beginning he was making some terrible if they would have lost how everybody expects them to lose games.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Which is just get out scored, yeah, into four over times or whatever.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Then yeah, he'd still be right up there.
- 16:14Speaker 2: He looked terrible in the game.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You know it.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Just it's one of those games he had his word, but as you move on throughout the season, I don't think you think there's going to be an undefeated team in the pack 12.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I think it's really unlikely man.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's up to Washington.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but I yeah, I they have.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I don't know who they got to go to two Oregon State so yeah, at the end of the year gotta play Washington State.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they got it.
- 16:41Speaker 2: The Apple Cup, I mean I know Washington State has fallen off, they've lost the last couple weeks, but it Again like we were talking about, with the pack 12 just eating itself right, but if they go undefeated, then I think there's your husband winner.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, right there.
- 16:57Speaker 1: He's got a clear path to it.
- 16:59Speaker 2: He's got, he's got a big game now.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Now I will pose a scenario.
- 17:03Speaker 2: There's other yeah speaking of our guys, let's just think of this.
- 17:07Speaker 1: There's.
- 17:07Speaker 1: There's still a chance for Jordan Travis, because he didn't, because he didn't Play a self out of it.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, like the way Caleb Williams did say that Jaden Daniels and LSU went out.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Right he continues to put up numbers and he himself is a Heisman candidate just from statistics.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And then you look back to week one when they they went head-to-head.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah and there was a clear current winner and who played better?
- 17:31Speaker 2: Right things like that.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Another quarterback, that had a good game.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Drake may was gonna get Heisman love too, and that'll be a chance that you could see you and see play Florida State both and that got another chance right there when you kind of have.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Pick your pick, your winner, there I'm gonna go to the playoff.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Winner wins winners up for exactly.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I really believe that Jordan Travis can just maintain the numbers that he's putting up right now.
- 18:01Speaker 1: The drops aren't helping him.
- 18:02Speaker 2: No they're not helping him, but it you know, if you keep winning.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah we had three total touchdowns again this last week right, no turnovers, yeah, no turnovers, like the same the same.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You know efficiency that he's playing with.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I Think there's no question that if you're undefeated and he's gonna need.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You're gonna be sitting in New York.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Put some big-time numbers up, though, in a big-time spot.
- 18:24Speaker 1: He's gonna have a chance.
- 18:25Speaker 2: It's gonna be, it's gonna be necessary for us to go undefeated right, he's, that's the number one.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of works itself out.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true as far as your, yeah, when you're, when you're talking about getting there, I think you're right.
- 18:37Speaker 2: There's a.
- 18:37Speaker 2: There's enough tests left where you're gonna need him to really show it, show out.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Penn State you can set up to go to the horseshoe.
- 18:47Speaker 2: This is it, man.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I feel like it.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Dude, if you're James Franklin and Penn State and you don't win one of these games against Ohio State or Michigan, you know it doesn't even have to be both.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Just win one Proof of concept that I can actually do it.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I can actually beat the two teams that matter on our schedule every season.
- 19:05Speaker 2: That I've never been able to do, mm-hmm.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Find out we'll find out, man.
- 19:11Speaker 2: It's like the whole country is just expecting the same thing, though very little talk about Penn State.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I think Penn State does it, I Sweet.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I figure this is as good a chance as any.
- 19:20Speaker 2: You know Ohio State clearly has flaws Right.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Penn State's been humming along.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Their confidence should be sky-high.
- 19:27Speaker 2: There's no reason to go in there thinking that we can't win this game right your Penn State, like I Don't know.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Michigan's, just like we already know their story.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It's not coming to the end, so they're just gonna keep doing what they're doing.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, pushing, teams right Iowa, iowa.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I would the big dude with the.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Rinsen like yeah he's a back biscuit under two Cobb corn man.
- 19:56Speaker 1: He's perfect for that team and he is they're gonna be in.
- 19:59Speaker 1: They're gonna win the West.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I think so too they.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Their schedule is trashed the rest of the way right but look out for Bert Bert.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Beat them up there in Illinois.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That's the one game that they may yeah, well, that's true, but who out?
- 20:12Speaker 1: they might still might go.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, they're primed to win out.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Finish the divisions.
- 20:16Speaker 2: But they'll have them.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Oh, I know they're not gonna beat whoever comes out of the east.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Yeah, in the big 10 just gift wrapped big and part of that will be decided this week game day and everyone on the Fox show they're all going to Columbus for this game coming up.
- 20:31Speaker 2: People are not happy up there.
- 20:32Speaker 2: That is another new game.
- 20:34Speaker 1: That's what they do.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they're Fox game.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They're getting tired of it the big new kickoff.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they want some night games.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you know the night game atmosphere.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I know it's cold as hell, no matter where you are You're worse.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what it's all is man?
- 20:49Speaker 2: That's why you got San Francisco and Seattle playing at 1 pm and then for East Coast teams playing at 425, right.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, ridiculous.
- 20:57Speaker 1: It's all about when they want you to play.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Okay, well, what is what else we got?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Jim bow yeah, I was just about to bring him on, jim bow.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Staring seven and five right in the face.
- 21:12Speaker 1: They're not happy.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Listen, let's come and check this out, man.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Since they've joined the SEC, texas A&M has spent 895 million dollars on their football program.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Hmm right that that you know that's a hundred and five away from being a billion.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Hmm, I see it.
- 21:29Speaker 2: That is insane dude.
- 21:33Speaker 2: You spend a quarter of that and don't have any trophies and don't, like you, barely even sniffed a division title in the COVID year.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Like you, have made a massive.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It's coming.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's coming.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You got local, you got local sports guys out there calling for him to be fired.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, when he brought in the assistance that he did.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah it was an all or nothing kind of well, there's no way.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I mean it.
- 21:58Speaker 2: It's like we either win it this year or if you watch the game that like they were commenting on, well, it sure looks like Jim bows down there calling plays and he was.
- 22:07Speaker 2: He had his play sheet out there and he's he's calling plays and there's 13 points on the board, dude, you watch.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You watch Tennessee play Florida in Gainesville.
- 22:16Speaker 2: You watch how easily they ran the ball on Tennessee, how they just pounded them like Like I can't even describe how awful that offense looked for him.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Like the, the past blocking grades of the O line, all of them under like 60%, which is F.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I mean, these are four and five star guys.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Same thing on the other side of the line.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, it's like it's coming.
- 22:43Speaker 2: It's coming.
- 22:44Speaker 2: It's coming.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Who do they go after?
- 22:46Speaker 2: Are they gonna try to get D on?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Oh, that would be the the most awkward marriage in the history of life.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Dude D on down in college.
- 22:56Speaker 2: That man, I don't know, he just blew a 29 to zero lead.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yeah again Stanford.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Then he blamed the whole team.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I, I, it's Mm-hmm.
- 23:11Speaker 2: No, if I'm finally start like starting this, really wonder if it really is like if he's Legitimately doing this or if it's just for TV, that he wants to just hey, I'm gonna go.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Coach doing his way, which is so they can film me coaching football.
- 23:27Speaker 2: This is what I'm gonna do now.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna coach football and I want to get tired of.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna do something else, but they're still gonna be filming me.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna find something else to be on it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because I Do that ain't.
- 23:38Speaker 2: On the players 29 to nothing lead.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And on the players, I will say that that Some of your best players really look bad during that game.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Travis hunter look great on offense.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, the great on offense.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Why is he out there for any defensive possessions?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Because he identifies as a corner that's cool man, but you Do you want 12 catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns and you expect him to go out there and cover somebody.
- 24:07Speaker 2: That's.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Look at that he had 13 catches for damn near 300 yards.
- 24:12Speaker 2: That guy did.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, he had 202 career receiving yards before that game and he he just went out there and physically dominated, right, because a the kid is not a Physical corner but also be he's exhausted, right he's your 13 for elik.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I am minor.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah the 13 catches for 294 yards.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Three touchdowns, retouch.
- 24:37Speaker 1: One was right off of his head.
- 24:40Speaker 2: That was a great guy from there was, it was, you know.
- 24:44Speaker 2: He could have done that against anybody, though.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Right, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah for me that the classic but he's playing too much.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, hunter the long, the long post throw where the guy made the adjustment.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and hunter took two steps to try to run after him and was out of the screen right.
- 25:00Speaker 1: He was tired kid is exhausted.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, 13 catches for him, 140 yards and two touchdowns.
- 25:04Speaker 1: But what?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Do you have any snaps to play?
- 25:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Something like a hundred nineteen or something like that.
- 25:10Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a lot For a kid that size.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah man to lose that game to stand biggest comeback in Stanford history.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's.
- 25:23Speaker 2: That's a bad team.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, not good.
- 25:26Speaker 1: No, well, that's is why it was at three and a half.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and you saw it.
- 25:33Speaker 2: This is kind of that game they wanted.
- 25:35Speaker 1: The first game was almost that right season defining win.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Well, and people got excited and they, they just figured this would be a game that they would win.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You know.
- 25:45Speaker 2: So there, boom, we're gonna.
- 25:46Speaker 2: We're gonna roll into what we saw, I said that it was.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It was gonna be just like the Colorado State game, like that, if they were gonna win it in that.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah, because you look at the rest of their schedule going forward and I mean it.
- 25:58Speaker 2: It is rough man.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Mm-hmm I.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Don't, I don't know, I would not.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I Would not have gone the route he went with his post game press conference If I had the whole rest of the season to play against superior program or superior rosters right.
- 26:16Speaker 2: You know I would be more trying to build confidence, but I'm not a coach.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't he's gonna do.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yeah, most he came to flip.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Whoever he has to do next year too.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's, uh, yeah, he's, he's gonna have to do some work.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You can't just so easily tell transfers that you brought in that they got to leave and find out.
- 26:37Speaker 2: They got to agree to do it.
- 26:39Speaker 1: We'll find out next week on the prime show.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we will.
- 26:42Speaker 1: We will see yeah, I don't want to say no.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, it's funny.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but hey, man, it dude, he has, he's, he's pretty much just Given life back to Colorado's football program.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Right, they were, they were dead right.
- 26:58Speaker 2: But nobody even knew that they still.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It was exactly.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Louisville lost to pit, I could see it coming.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 27:07Speaker 2: I hope it doesn't mean pits good, but I Mean they're not yeah they're just tough up there.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they're real toughy real toughy is.
- 27:18Speaker 2: So that I was nice to say I mean they still got, they're still alive, we'll go oh.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I guess it looks like the ACC Is going to be.
- 27:29Speaker 1: We got three teams that are undefeated In the conference.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Still you got Duke was going on for a state.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And do explain both the teams.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they got.
- 27:39Speaker 2: They got there.
- 27:40Speaker 2: They hold it in their hands, man.
- 27:42Speaker 1: So North Carolina sort of taking beat Duke.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm gonna you know wake Forest.
- 27:50Speaker 2: If you get through this weekend and beat Duke, Wake Forest is definitely a potential trap environment, you know.
- 27:57Speaker 1: But man at pit.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Are they looking bad?
- 28:00Speaker 2: wake Dude.
- 28:01Speaker 2: They look as bad as anybody in the conference.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So did pit a couple weeks ago.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all about who.
- 28:07Speaker 2: You got a QB man right.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And all of a sudden they don't really have one either place right.
- 28:12Speaker 2: They fell off.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe should have tried a little harder to keep it.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Well, hartman was graduating, he couldn't stay Right.
