[upbeat rock music] Michael's, Michael's beating off Matt Gaetz. Well, wouldn't you? Hey, everybody.
• 0:19
What the hell's happening? It's Full Spectrum Cycling. 1:48 today. 48. We left the door open so you can hear the heater, 'cause it's cold out today. It is chilly willy. It's chilly out there.
• 0:32
And the possibility of two guests. Never know. Well, you'd, you know- I gave the invitation... you never do know. I gave the invitation, if they show.
• 0:42
Martin's gonna ride up on his skateboard at negative 10 degrees outside today. [laughs] Smiley, smiley. Well, heckony, again, it's chilly. Hey, look at that thing over there, it's got a light on it. Oh.
• 0:58
Yeah, there's a light on that thing. Um- You turn that light on? Well- I'll be right back. [laughs] You're gonna have to unplug that thing to turn it off. Oh, Tony takes this thing off.
• 1:07
Well, that's Tony- Tony's like a racket... by the way, if we're introducing anybody. That's- That was Tony... and, uh, JK- Hello... freshly lubricated up from, uh, I don't know, numerous stops, I would imagine.
• 1:18
Yeah, also. You gonna take that backpack off? He's got a backpack on. He can come and off. It's like a turtle. He's like a turtle. Turtle, turtle- He's got a turtle thing... turtle, turtle, turtle, turtle.
• 1:26
Uh, that's gonna tip you over and put you in that puddle again. Uh- [laughs] Turtle... that happened once in 2005, I believe. Baby Shark, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. 10 billion views, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.
• 1:40
That's unreal. Are you kidding me? Can you imagine how much moolah that is? I am not listening to you, and if there was a visual- [laughs]... you would see that I'm not listening- Baby-... you fucking ass wipe...
• 1:51
Baby Shark, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. [laughs] I do not listen to your bullshit, Terry. [laughs] Ah, it just happened to be the top of the list. Just- That is pretty amazing.
• 2:03
If people haven't gotten that earworm in their head, they probably should. Ah, no. There's that, um- There's a reason, you know- The other one that really gets stuck in my head, which I almost hate to say, is, um, oh.
• 2:16
Anything else? [laughs] Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. I don't know what you're whistling. Can whistling into a microphone be a good thing? Probably not.
• 2:27
Um, oh, it's gonna, it's, it's not Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Home? Home's the name of the song. Well, well, that should be okay. We'll, we'll throw, we'll throw out the notes.
• 2:38
Um- Once it's in my head, I cannot get it out, so I'm glad it's not in my head right now. I'm not sure how- Baby Shark [laughs] is unfortunately- [laughs]
• 2:47
I'm not sure how we missed this, but we've been doing this here show for three years. Three. Three. It was, like, in December sometime that our, our third anniversary of our very- Well- Wow... first show came.
• 2:59
The past- Because we-... year and a h- the past year and a half has been kind of a punch drunk- Whirlwind of- You know? Like, wow. Oh, wait, we do it this way- So is everything else in life... but, no, this way.
• 3:10
No, no, no, we'll just meet over at the, uh- Brewery... Caesar's. We'll get the thing and the thing and the dah. We should do a show at, at, uh, Gathering Place. I'm sure we could set that up.
• 3:22
Yeah, it's very echoey in there, but- Oh, okay... and to be fair, I did- To be fair. 'Cause, so how far is Gathering Place from here? Um, I could throw a s- I might not be able to throw a stone- It's like a block...
• 3:33
there's two buildings in the way. I could roll- But guess what? I could- There is a brewery in between here and there, and I called Ron today and he was a little busy, but he'll be on the show, from Amorphic. Mm-hmm.
• 3:42
So there's one brewery between us and the brewery that's a block away. Yeah. [laughs] There's a brewery- There's one in the parking lot, basically... in between a brewery.
• 3:49
Yeah, there's a brewery in the parking lot, and then there's one down the street. Yeah, that's crazy. Right? Brewers, brewers. I like it. No, we will have Ron on, 'cause he is a cyclist as well. That's nice.
• 4:00
He makes beer and he rides bikes. Oh. How much- You know-... better a guest could you have? You know, you know who else has always said that to me? Who? Colin Ford. Who? I ride bikes, I drink beer. Air, Air Ford.
• 4:11
Who, who, who? I'm like, "What do you do?" He's like, "I ride bikes, I drink beer." Michael's getting beer now, with the, with the quickness. [laughs] Could I, could I also have a beer, sir? Uh- Ah. Ah.
• 4:24
Uh, tho- those may not be cold as- Doesn't matter... cold. Whatever. They're kinda cold. It's, it's actually cold up- They actually feel cold... it's cold up in here. Yeah. You drink beer. Oh, button-pushing time.
• 4:37
We gotta push a button. All right, dang old button. There we go right there. Push the dang old button right there. Yeah, exactly. Welcome, radio program caller. Who do we have on the line? Hello? Hello.
• 4:48
[laughs] I didn't know if you guys were there or not. How are you? Oh, we're here. We're here right now. We're here. You're here? You're there? That sound, that sounds like Rick. How big are those beer cans?
• 4:56
I'm, yeah, we're, we're right- How big are those beer cans?... we're right here. We're right here for you. All right. So- We're right here for you... okay. So, okay, wait. Okay, so we do have JK in the studio.
• 5:06
We do have Tony Berger. Hey. Uh, sorry about the pass into the fat lady. Thanks. It's all right. Uh, and of course, we got the Ron Chuy on the, uh, on the horn there. Hey, now there. Hi, hey, Ron, how's it going? Good.
• 5:20
How are you guys doing? I've been too busy to call in.
• 5:23
It's, it's my, it's my little bit of a break on a Wednesday night from coaching to working to playing, so I thought, "I better give you guys a call and see what's been going on." I haven't talked to you guys in a while.
• 5:34
I, yeah, I tried to get Spinner to call in and heckle you as well, but he's doing some sort of hazmat training down there at the old Decorah fire station, so- There you are. Yeah.
• 5:44
He's becoming, he's becoming the model citizen of Decorah now. Damn, watch him. You know? He's getting his beard and- Yeah... all that kind of stuff.
• 5:50
Yeah, well- Has he, has he forearmed anyone through the nuts and picked them up yet? Because I'm sure he has. Well, I'm sure he has. [laughs] I mean, that's like a daily occurrence down here. It's all very tight.
• 6:01
Yeah, you, you have to look at the ones pull Yeah... da-dun [imitates drum roll] That, that, that will never cease to be the most- [laughs]... awesome photo ever in the history of photos.
• 6:10
[laughs] It just, it just destroys me every time. I feel like, "Oh, yeah." [laughs] So what's, what, what's happening up in Roach-fest your way there?
• 6:23
Um, it's, it's, the, it is between trying to figure out when to play hockey games and making up hockey games for my school for the, probably mostly because of the COVID stuff, you know, they, their,
• 6:37
their quarantines are longer in school, so that takes us longer and we have to try to get our season in in- Sure... in a short period of time.
• 6:43
So we've been playing anywhere up to around three to four games a week for the last, this is our third week of doing it. So- Wow... it's been, it's all it's been. It's been pretty much just straight hockey. You know?
• 6:53
And then, and then mid-February it's just gonna come to a crashing halt. It'll be just so weird then. [clears throat] You'll have plenty of time to go... You said you were at work earlier.
• 7:02
Are, do you have a new job in your retirement or are you just talking about hockey? [laughs] Well, no. It's, I coach and then I also work at the hockey rink.
• 7:10
I've been working at the hockey rink since, oh, crap, probably 30 years now. Um, just filling in wherever they need anybody. And of course, with the way things are going here, I, I put in 25 hours last week.
• 7:22
Holy mackerel. Like, that's not even right. That's un- Oh, crap... I know that's ridiculous. That's insane. That does not sound like retirement at all. Oh, crap.
• 7:29
That, that, that's on top of, that doesn't even count with coaching and two game, three games last week, and, uh, uh, one on, on the weekend. So it's been, yeah, it's been rather busy.
• 7:40
Do you get to drive the Zamboni at the rink? What? Oh, yeah. That's the only time you- Oh, no way. I drive the Zamboni. Yeah. You're lying, Chewie. Oh, yes. You really get to drive the Zamboni?
• 7:49
Of course I drive the Zamboni. There's like a Letter Kenny tie-in here- Hell yeah... to the Zamboni driving. Hell yeah. Of course. If you can drive a truck, you can drive a Zamboni. But yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 7:58
And they won't let me- Yeah, yeah, yeah...
• 7:59
they won't let me quit here because I always threaten the day I quit here I'm gonna drive the, the Zamboni up to the 63 Club and leave it parked outside the 63 Club and go get themselves in. [laughs] No way.
• 8:07
So they won't let me quit. [laughs] What is that, well over like four blocks away? Uh, yeah. Not, maybe not even quite. Not quite?
• 8:15
But it's gonna take a while 'cause it, it goes like, it only goes like eight miles an hour. [laughs] So it's gonna take a bit to get there. Yeah. No, you have the jingle keys on the other side.
• 8:23
I've, I've- Chewie, every time I talk to you I'm just amazed at the next story I'm gonna hear. It's crazy. [laughs] Dude, I mean- [laughs] Well, yeah, sure I drive the Zamboni. It's like Sterman's, uh, you know?
• 8:36
Who doesn't drive a Zamboni? Right. You know? Huh? Who doesn't drive a Zamboni? [bell dings] What? Oh. Already? Oh my God. We're already at the- Oh, we're doing it... we're at the top of the hill already? Uh-huh.
• 8:48
It seems, seems kind of early, but all right then. Well, all right. We're here. We're here. What do we got? Well, we got leftover beer from last week here. Which appears to be Spare Time. Spare Time.
• 8:59
This is, uh, Good City Spare Time. Hazy IPA. Good City's all right. I guess that's this week's beer. Yeah. Why not? There's a lot of beers in there, of which we only have three, so.
• 9:10
[laughs] Three this, three that, three the other, three, three, three. Are you drinking tonight, Ron? What are you- It's the- You got a beer over there?... thing of threes.
• 9:17
Um, I won't be start drinking until probably about 10:30. Okay. As long as I've been playing hockey. Oh, okay. But I play hockey up tonight, too. Oh, you still have to play. Oh.
• 9:27
Uh, speaking of playing hockey- Oh, yeah... I, I did notice the people's, uh, the people's rink here in, in River West, which you should come and check out, is now open. Is opening it? Yeah. I know I have to. Yeah.
• 9:37
And they started the broomball season tonight, I believe. So not only can you- Oh, really?... skate on there, but they do broomball on there too apparently. It's- That's, our outside rinks are like that, too.
• 9:47
We, the, the, I haven't played broomball in years, but, um- You will... that's, uh, that's, that's- You will... the whole, the last time I played broomball I knocked a guy out with a stick. Hmm.
• 9:56
[laughs] So I figured I should hang this up. You will. [laughs] On purpose or just happened to s- No, no, no... whale away? He, he just sort of came running.
• 10:05
I was, a big wind up for a shot, and as I, the follow through came behind me and he ran up behind me and I clocked him right in between the eyes. [laughs] And it was not on purpose.
• 10:13
Well, I'm still not entirely sure of the rules of broomball, but it seems like there's a lot of stick flying around actually. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's, uh, um- Yeah... it, it's, it's a variation of-
• 10:28
It's like b-... I don't know. I, okay, it's, it, you guys play street hockey, it's the same thing. Yeah. Yeah. It's like- Kind of like- Yeah. Okay. Little bit... like bucket ball.
• 10:35
You don't need skates to do it, you just need a broom and a ball. And a head. Yeah, but it's not even really a... Well, well, okay, this is how long I, ago I used to play. So I did play when we used real brooms.
• 10:46
Like, you literally found an industrial sweeping broom and you pulled the bristles as tight as you could, and you'd dip the end in like lead so you could keep them together, and then you'd tape it up. God, you're old.
• 10:58
And then you literally would- Wow, that sounds unsafe... like you'd go to the school system and steal a broom from them 'cause they got the big thick handles on them.
• 11:04
And now they're that same handle but it's got a molded plastic end on it now. So it's- Ah... I don't know. It's kind of cheap now, really... it's kind of more like- It's kind of, kind of more like- But it's cheap...
• 11:12
squeegee ball now, sounds like. Yeah. Yeah. It's, uh, you know, back then we used soccer balls or volleyballs, whatever we could get to keep air in them, and now they use like regular regulation, uh, broomball br- balls.
• 11:27
Like it's like, I don't know, I think they call it a number four soccer ball. It's like a tiny little soccer ball. It's- Damn... little tiny soccer ball. Way, way to ruin something fun. Yeah. Compared with sports. Why?
• 11:38
Why? You gotta have- Just to profit... you gotta have standards. I mean, next thing there'll be a bucket ball like league. The, uh, there probably is. You could ask Siri here- Well, it could be. It could be...
• 11:46
or Google or something. We've been, we've been debating here about having, um, we're playing the cross-town rival on Thursday, and it's the first time.
• 11:53
But I think the second time we play them we're gonna do kind of like the same thing, only broomball, but we're gonna make our managers, we have three managers, and Century has three managers, and they're all, you know, high school girls that kind of know each other.
• 12:04
And we're gonna make them go out there and play in between periods their own little scrimmage. I don't think any of them can even skate, but we're gonna make them do it anyway. I think it's gonna be funny as shit.
• 12:12
Put, put some, uh, Wonder Bags- I'm gonna just, yeah... on their feet and make them slide around on the ice. We, a, we used to, we wanted to do that.
• 12:18
You know, we, years ago before they were such a thing as studded tires, remember we used to stud our own tires? Yes. We used to come to the rinks because I When building winter was still out...
• 12:25
used to come with this racer on the inside of the hockey rink. It was so cool. Good. That nice, that nice fresh ice. They don't have a Zamboni for the people's ice rink- Sure...
• 12:35
but we have ridden around on there on the bikes. Yeah. Yeah. It's mostly just- Do they just quite a little hole then?... it's, it's natural melting and freezing that... No, it's, uh- Oh, really?
• 12:44
It's, it's an actual, um, you know, it's got like a liner and it's, you know, you, they flood it. Yeah, they pay, the two families back there I believe- Oh, yeah... pay the city to put that in there. Yeah. Yeah.
• 12:54
That's pretty kickass. And- What was up, Pettits? Yeah. It's, it's pretty neat. It's definitely fun to just, you know, swing around on and when it's not ungodly cold and windy.
• 13:04
And you watch the guys on their fixies with no studs just trying to ride around on it. Yeah, it was fun. It's, it's super awesome. That was fun. [laughs] That's great.
• 13:11
Yeah, you guys, you're, you're doing a great job, bam. You're doing a great job, bam. You're doing a great job, bam. [laughs] Oh my God. Yeah. Dude, seriously. When you- It gets slippery even with studs sometimes.
• 13:22
That, I've, I've been on that thing having fun and it's like, "Whoop, I'm down." Yep. No, it gets slippery actually listening to people and going like, "Did you see me? Blop. Did you see me? Blop. Did you see me? Blop."
• 13:32
Chewy, do you know who, uh, do you know who Rene- [laughs]... do you know Rene Herse Cycles? Do you know those guys? Kinda- I know who they are. Yeah I don't know them, no.
• 13:40
So they had a, an article, which I have a link to in the show notes, 'cause I think it was awesome. 'Cause it's gonna be in the show notes. It, the title of it was Gravel Is As Old As Cycling. Oh.
• 13:50
It's, it was my favorite headline ever in the history of- Wow... bike headlines recently- Very deep... because obviously. You've always ridden in gravel. Totally deep.
• 13:59
Well, I mean, in Iowa you ride on gravel no matter what pretty much, right? It's not like you're gonna get from here to there without hitting some gravel. Pretty much. Yeah.
• 14:08
I, I could, I could think of- I thought you, like, rode on Halos. On what? Halos. [laughs] On Halos? What? JK pre-gamed a little bit today. Yeah. I think, I think he's a little- Yeah, I could tell...
• 14:20
he's like a wet head now. [laughs] His Halos. Easy, killers. Oh, man. Yeah, so yeah, Gravel Is As Old As Cycling. I kept, you know, like, Kees Dai built gravel bikes in the '70s, and they built gravel bikes before.
• 14:36
Right. And- He was building bikes that were, because there were no paved roads, they rode them on gravel and, uh- And when you mountain bike, you tend to sometimes you're riding, I don't know, gravel. Perhaps. You know?
• 14:46
I don't know. Just, it's a good article. Yeah. And it- It's advertising, man. I- And it does go way back to the early days of cycling... it's marketing. It's marketing. Well, and, and it,
• 14:53
and in essence, didn't gravel bikes, because that's, because that was the nature, turn into road bikes rather than the other way around, road bikes turned into gravel bikes? Yeah.
• 15:02
I think it was like a badge of courage to ride- Well-... the narrowest tire you could on gravel and now it's like going the other direction- Yeah. Tour de France-... which is nice... you carried your own wheel.
• 15:10
You, you did, you were self-supportive and- Yeah. You also did cocaine at the bottom of a climb. Well, that's okay. I don't think they do that anymore. [laughs] But there's not actually really cocaine anymore.
• 15:20
Yeah, that's true. But yeah, they, you know what I mean? I mean, they, that was technically, I mean, cobblestone, gravel, they did it all on a "road bike." Copy that. And kinda cocaine.
• 15:31
[laughs] And, and weren't roads originally paved to benefit cycles and f- bicycles in the first place rather than benefit cars?
• 15:40
Um- I thought, well, in Wisconsin, the dairy, uh, farmers were the ones that wanted the roads paved. I don't know if that was after- Uh, it was bikes... they stopped delivering them on, on bikes or- Eisenhower.
• 15:50
Eisenhower was all the- Chewy, I'm gonna send you a book. Oh.
• 15:54
I'll, I'll, I'll PM you a book that I think you're gonna really like, but yes, I think you're exactly correct on that, that they were paved originally for cyclists. I, I sort of though- Rich white men precisely...
• 16:03
I mean, I heard that horrible rumor one time. Rich white men. Rich white men. You know, 'cause it was initially rich white men. Speaking of rich white men- I'm not rich...
• 16:09
Tony's silver hair is looking really good over there. [laughs] It's getting long. And you're getting long. I shaved too. Did you guys notice? Don't have my beard. Oh, yeah. Yeah. No, I did, yeah. Lost my beard.
• 16:21
I knew something looked different about you. Yep. Uh, I went up to, uh- Believe you me, I have not shaved mine yet, but you will see when I do. [laughs] It's gonna be very dramatic.
• 16:32
[laughs] You know, I- I'll be from here to yon. It will be a smooth shorn JK that we will see soon. Yeah. And be like, "Oh- Or not... did you not notice it?" How did you not, not notice it?
• 16:46
[laughs] I went up to Door County this weekend with the family. Oh. Yeah, that pretty, that was pretty baller. And, yeah, I actually got out there on the ice and rode some shore ice on the...
• 16:57
I was, so it was like the third or fourth North Paw. Tony has the very first one, but this was like maybe the third or fourth we built and I'm like, "Golly, this is a really nice bike." Golly.
• 17:07
It, it does really well in this slow, you know, I- You said golly... gosh darn it. Golly. I don't, I don't wanna make the cuss words over here. No, I know, I'm, I can't... No, yeah, why not put a pin in that fucker.
• 17:19
[laughs] Good, good golly, Miss Molly. Yeah, so- D- So, uh- That's awesome...
• 17:22
so it was, uh, you know, the nice shore ice out there, and then it had, it was like nine degrees, so it was, uh, that kind of snow that's super just fine and very slippery on the glare ice under there.
• 17:36
But I managed not to fall down. I felt pretty good. It's like trying to- Or go through... trying to pick that line that's like perfect when you have all that, all that ice and, and mountainous thing.
• 17:47
I, yeah, I like that. Did you have any- It's like just fi- I love that... find the spot where you can get some traction and you're like, "Yeah." Just roll through it. Did you have any, uh, heckling- Love that...
• 17:54
from the humans and just walking, going, "Oh, I just- Ah, man... I wanna go to Al Johnson's but, oh, look at this guy." [laughs] The goats on the roof are all like, "Hey, what are you do- a- a- a-" Yeah, yeah.
• 18:07
You're getting heckled by the goats. No, those goats are not us. This was at the very, this was at the very tip up there at, at, uh, at North, Northport? North what? You're all, you're all north...
• 18:18
I don't know what it's called. The, the northern most tip of the thumb up there And then- Provincetown? No... then I went to, uh, Peninsula State Park thinking, "Oh, yeah, they have great trails," blah, blah, blah.
• 18:28
The lady... And I bought my park pass so I could park my car, whatever, whatever. Ooh. But the lady's like... I'm like, "Can I ride my bike in your park?" She's like, "On the road." I go, "Huh?"
• 18:40
[laughs] "Um, well, the snowmobile trails are open," which are the mountain bike trails. I'm like- So all right. I- So I'm like, "Well, but..." Yeah, so I didn't realize- [laughs]...
• 18:50
until later that you actually- I didn't investigate... even though they don't recommend it, you can actually ride on the snowmobile trails in the park. But she didn't, was not forthcoming with that information.
• 18:59
Of course you aren't. So I did not ride on Peninsula, but then I went back up to Newport. Newport is what it's called, not Northport. There you go.
• 19:06
I went back up there on Monday and found single track a- plenty, because they actually do have- [laughs] They do have fat bike accessible trails in Newport State Park. Cool, cool.
• 19:18
So if you wanna go up there to Door County, uh- There was a decent amount of snow or...? And also, you know, if they tell you you don't ride on the snowmobile trail, you can't do it on private land.
• 19:25
Just- But you can do it in the park... smile and nod. Smile and nod. Exactly. Whatever, whatever. Smile and nod. Smile and nod.
• 19:30
I will say that if you wanna go buy records up in Door County, you should go to the Rusty Dusty Vintage and Records store. Yeah, it looked like you got a score. I got my Sleep double album- Ooh... S- the Sciences.
• 19:42
Ses, ses. It was a, it was a good find I thought. I don't know. I mean, it's not like you can't buy it somewhere else, but- Was it a billion dollars, or was it reasonable? 32 bucks for a double. That's, that's not bad.
• 19:52
Not bad, right? 420? I don't know. Ron, how many, uh, how many, uh, 45s do you have in the jukebox over there in, uh, in the garage? Um, we're... 45s we're at about 450.
• 20:04
[clears throat] Is that- Sue's holds 100, mine hold, um, mine holds 50, hers holds, uh, 80 or 100, I can't remember which. Oh. So we got two jukeboxes. Plus, plus don't forget we have one, two...
• 20:18
Well, we've got two, um, console stereos, and Casey, or my youngest son, has got into repairing and fixing old ones, so he... I just picked up another one from him in Kenyon, so he's at four now, I think. Nice. Wow.
• 20:34
He's got two Motorolas and two, um, from like, I think from the '40s that are, uh, a German brand. Oh. Uh, and they, and they're really fun, they're really fun to tear apart and look into, uh, and fix them.
• 20:47
They, you can, you can literally still get parts for them. That's the cool thing about it. That is cool. Wow. So, uh, I, I still- Yeah...
• 20:53
uh, so I lost my album collection many years ago to a flood, and I have like maybe 300 left from my dad and from various whatevers didn't get lost in the flood, for vinyl, but I have like 1,000 CDs.
• 21:07
And I found that Sony makes this, uh, CD player that holds 400 discs. I'm like, "Huh, that sounds kinda cool." My, my only question is- That'll work for like six weeks... that they got refurb ones- Right?...
• 21:20
all over the place, and they're like- Right. That's why... they're like 300 bucks. Yeah. And they only have- They work for like three weeks. [laughs] Yeah.
• 21:25
I'm just wondering if they have a way to read what's on the CD so I know which CD I'm looking at, or do I have to keep- They have to somehow...
• 21:33
or do I have to, like, keep a book full of, like, slot number 42 is, uh, Elvis Costello? They- I'm just saying that from my, uh, my d- car disc man in my ear- Man... I was listening to this man.
• 21:50
Uh, it was Joy Division on my bicycle, and we were talking about it that way. On a bicycle. Um, I... There, there has to be some sort of interface that lets you either view it on a computer or something.
• 22:04
[laughs] Michael, Michael, he's tapped out over there. Yeah. Uh, there- I just had to- There has to be some way to read that thing... somebody on a bicycle. Yeah. Otherwise there'd be no reason to have 100 discs.
• 22:14
On a bicycle, I gotta pee on my bicycle. He's gotta go pee apparently. Yeah, on my bicycle. Oh. Ugh, Michael. Right. [laughs] Jesus, man. Is it... But it w- is it, is it like the, um...
• 22:25
So you've seen the jukeboxes that are CDs, right? Yes. I'm gonna burn this.
• 22:28
[laughs] It'd be, it'd be a- would they be along that line where you actually put a jacket inside of something in the machine itself so you flip through to see which ones they are? No, I think, no, no.
• 22:38
No, it's gonna be a- This is-... reader, digital... it's a very, it's a very small thing. Uh, it can't be more than like two feet square. Oh. So you put all 400 discs in the thing. Mm-hmm. And- Oh. Yeah.
• 22:48
So it's like a basic disc changer. Okay. Yeah. Okay. But big. But it's, but it's 400 discs worth. But it's 400. Yeah, not six in the trunk of your car kinda thing. But, uh, I'm just kinda curious. That's cool.
• 22:57
I'm like, "Oh, I kinda want one just 'cause I have all those CDs and whatever." I have, I have ass tons of CDs too. Ass tons. Yeah. Literal. Literal ass tons- Ass tons... of CDs.
• 23:07
[laughs] Uh, so back up to the Door County, they're just, just gonna plug a couple joints. Uh, Seven Sisters Resale Boutique is my friend Tara's shop, and we stopped in there and, and talked to her.
• 23:17
I think I'm gonna be doing a bunch of websites in Door County with Tara- Yeah... 'cause she's a graphic designer, and guess what they have up there? Shops.
• 23:23
The shittiest websites you could possibly imagine- Yeah, and shacks... in the entire world, and like 98% of them are not mobile friendly. So when people come up from- Nice...
• 23:32
Milwaukee or Illinois or wherever they come from- Chicago... they ain't got no... You can't even see the shit on your phone. What the fuck? I, I wanna know when you're open. Can't. Really?
• 23:40
Gonna go ahead and make some- It's that bad? It's bad. They're like back in, like, the '50s of internet era. Whoa, whoa. That would be before the internet. I've, uh- I think so...
• 23:50
[laughs] I've only been to Door County once in my entire life, believe it or not. Oh, it is... I, I really love going up there. We go up basically this, this, uh, MLK weekend.
• 23:59
We always go up there 'cause I like being there when there's no one else there. It's like you- That would make sense. Right. You go there in the summer, and it's all Illinois or whatever- Mm-hmm...
• 24:07
blah, blah, blah, and it's crowded as hell, and it's also expensive. Yeah. And it's like, yeah, let's just go in the winter, 'cause I can ride my bike in the snow and have fun. Right.
• 24:15
And I actually, last time I was there- And I, I put it-... I got a really great deal on a hot tub... I put it like Greg, right? You, you have to attend it once. Say it again, Rod?
• 24:22
And then after that you don't wanna ever do it again. Yeah, yeah. Right? No. I- It's like- We go up there- I think doing things like that, that's the way I look at RAGBRAI.
• 24:30
It's, it's, you have to go there once when there's a crowd to get the feel of it when there's a crowd, and then you go when there's not a crowd after that.
• 24:37
Yeah, I remember w- with you and, uh, the captain, and this and that, riding like, riding on RAGBRAI week, but not being like really that much part of the RAGBRAI. We'd do a different route or you're 10 miles away.
• 24:50
Oh, sorry, I turned the mic down. Yeah. Of course you did. [laughs] I would too. So I, I'm not, I, you know- [laughs] I don't wanna be sexist here or anything- Shit, I know...
• 25:01
but if you're up there in Door County and you wanna, you know, uh, the, this Seven Sisters business is mostly about ladies clothing. Not that I don't like to wear that now and again myself. Oh. But, uh- [laughs]
• 25:13
Every day is like that Or some fucking shamanism Hey, I, dude, she goes, "I have to go drive the Zamboni, so I'm gonna ditch ya." [laughs] Okay, buddy. All right. All right, Ron. Thanks for calling in, man.
• 25:21
I will talk to you next night. All right, oogie boogie. All right, see you later. Oogie boogie. Bye. Ron? Oogie boogie, oogie boogie. Ron's leaving now. Oh, he is? Michael's making racket now. Nice. Well, yeah.
• 25:32
Thanks, Cheery, for calling in. Thank you very much. [laughs] Wee, wee, wee. So it's been- Oh, I can hear you now, but you can't- No, no, no. It's been cold. Mike, Mike- What?
• 25:42
Michael took off his headphones, so he can't hear himself anymore. Oh. No, I can just- It's been cold... I wish I could do the same thing... say exactly this. [laughs] I can regulate the timbre of my voice.
• 25:52
I'm not over the top, am I? Am I? Am I? Am I? Am I? Am I? No, I don't think I am. Uh, the one other thing I wanted to mention about DoorCo is that they have the world's largest- DoorCo...
• 26:03
well, not the world's, Wisconsin's largest rock and gem store. DoorCo. Is in, uh- DoorCo... Fish Creek. Fish Creek. And, and my daughter is into rocks and/or she likes rocks. Do you know who owns it? Is his name F.
• 26:18
John Barlow? [bell ringing] I do not. Or was the family of F. John Barlow? I do not know. I do not think so. Don't we have a... Yeah. Do we need another beer, Michael? Apparently.
• 26:28
[laughs] We're at the top of the- You rang the bell. Hey, hey We're at the top of the hill here. It's like a hyperbolic curve. We're at the top of the- Yeah... second hill now. Exactly.
• 26:36
Well, they're, uh- You talked to me and then- They're immediately behind you there, sir. Oh. Right, right directly behind you. Uh, so Door County Rock & Gem, pretty kickass.
• 26:45
I'm not really a rock guy, 'cause why, why pay for something you can pick up off the ground? But- Oh... but just saying From the daughter Oh, yes, these are still from the, uh, Total Wine & Liquor- Daughter...
• 26:58
sponsor of this show. Uh, daughter, uh, uh- Not sponsor of this show... Xmas present. Well, they could be. This or this. Bubbly by nature. That's, uh- No... no, that doesn't sound good.
• 27:10
That, uh- Let's have the other ones... I'm, I'm going with the Indeed Flavor Wave. Flavor wave, flava wave. This is a good beer.
• 27:17
Also, I've stopped at several restaurants up there this year that we don't normally stop at. Oh, really? Because, A- A... during the winter most of them are closed. And B- But, uh, you gotta go to Al Johnson's.
• 27:30
Well, yeah. But whatever. But, uh, Chef's Hat was awesome. KC's, can't beat them for barbecue. Really, now? Oh my God. KC's.
• 27:38
And then we stopped at a kickass place right near the Steel Bridge in Sturgeon Bay on the way home, and I do not remember it. I'll have to figure that one out.
• 27:45
But- Ooh, I have a, I have such a soft spot for Sturgeon Bay, 'cause that was the fir- like one of the first places I shoplifted from.
• 28:00
[laughs] [laughs] Just- Oh, my shoplifting career began- Yeah, it just like-... in Sturgeon Bay... I mean, there was like no reason to it, but- All right, flava wave. We've had this before.
• 28:13
My daughter, uh, this- I bought this. I bought this once or twice. Yeah, this is a- It's a good beer... so this was my daughter's, uh- Well- She gave me 12- What's-... 12 beer, the 12 beers of Christmas.
• 28:22
  [laughs] That's a weird follow-up. That's a weird follow-up to a statement. [laughs] Here they go, Dad. Thank you. That's a weird follow-up to a, but- So she- It's, it's fine...
• 28:30
she's actually gonna be, this is like her last week at Total Wine. I feel so bad. Yeah. 'Cause she- I know... 'cause she has another real job again. I'm like, "Hey, congratulations.
• 28:38
Can you-" I might get fired so I could get her job- "... please"... and I could become the whatever finger wag I got over here. O- okay, so here's the deal. I think here's the deal about Total Wine. Aha.
• 28:48
You know, they're all over the country. Yep. And pretty much if you- Family-owned... if, if you worked for them before- Just like Walmart... you can get a job there again. They're pretty much gonna rehire you. Totally.
• 28:58
That's cool. At- Totally... like 16 bucks an hour too, which is not bad for a- That's cool... you know.
• 29:03
Better than Target Well, it's way more money than she makes doing her real job right now, but she's gonna have to put her time in to get the, uh, big bucks down the road, I think. Totally. I think I'll work there.
• 29:13
And you know what? Sounds like fun. Money isn't even that big a deal, right? Sounds like fun. Whatever, whatever. What's all that racket downstairs? We have to, we also have to take a photo- Photo... tonight still. Shit.
• 29:26
All right, everybody, I don't think we...
• 29:29
Oh, by the way, let me mention, if you listened to the show this far, that we still have Fat Bike Cranks aplenty, although we did send four out, um, through the mail and/or UPS service last week. Because guess what?
• 29:42
Nobody has Fat Bike Cranks. All right. If you want some, and I'm gonna lay a little love on all our listener- Ah... we have two carbon Nextar cranks that no one has, and I haven't put them up on the interwebs yet.
• 29:59
Don't break them, though, man. Don't break them. If you want- Those are fat some dough... if you want Nextar 190 to 197 beautiful carbon cranks, I have two. And, uh- [snores] Mention the show and we'll sell them to you.
• 30:13
Yeah, mention the show and I'll sell them to you for twice as much. [laughs] Yeah, I'll break the show. [laughs] Wait a second. What are you doing over there? Why is the table moving? Nothing.
• 30:19
What the hell's going on here? I'm just saying. All right, I'm just saying. Okay, everybody, you know what? It's time for everyone to go. Peace out. You should just go. Just go. Bye-bye.
