- Lucas: Luna, ready for another tiny German lesson? Luna: Always. What are we learning today? Lucas: Body parts. Really useful if you ever need to tell a doctor where it hurts. Luna: Oh, like after I tried to do a cartwheel last week? My arm still feels weird. Lucas: Exactly. So let's start with der Kopf — the head. Luna: Der Kopf. Lucas: Good. Der Kopf. Now, die Hand — the hand. Luna: Die Hand. Lucas: Perfect. Now der Arm — the arm. Luna: Der Arm. Lucas: Yes. And das Bein — the leg. Luna: Das Bein. Lucas: Last one — der Fuß, the foot. Luna: Der Fuß. That's a fun one to say. Lucas: It is. Okay, let's hear them all again from me: der Kopf, die Hand, der Arm, das Bein, der Fuß. Luna: Der Kopf, die Hand, der Arm, das Bein, der Fuß. Lucas: Nailed it. Now, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with German, the way we stay ad-free is through listener support. You can buy us a coffee at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to keep these lessons coming, and we really appreciate it. Lucas: Absolutely. Now let's put those body parts into a tiny scene. Imagine you're at the doctor's. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: The doctor asks: Wo tut es weh? Where does it hurt? Luna: I can say: Mein Arm tut weh. My arm hurts. Lucas: Perfect. Also: Mein Kopf tut weh. My head hurts. Luna: Mein Kopf tut weh. Lucas: Or: Mein Bein tut weh. Luna: Mein Bein tut weh. Lucas: And if you hurt your hand: Meine Hand tut weh. Luna: Meine Hand tut weh. Because die Hand is feminine, so meine. Lucas: Exactly. And der Fuß — mein Fuß tut weh. Luna: Mein Fuß tut weh. Lucas: Great. Let's do a quick drill. I'll say the English, you say the German. Luna: Bring it on. Lucas: The head. Luna: Der Kopf. Lucas: The hand. Luna: Die Hand. Lucas: The arm. Luna: Der Arm. Lucas: The leg. Luna: Das Bein. Lucas: The foot. Luna: Der Fuß. Lucas: Awesome. Now, if you hurt your arm and your foot, you could say: Mein Arm und mein Fuß tun weh. Luna: Mein Arm und mein Fuß tun weh. That's plural verb, right? Lucas: Right. Tun instead of tut. You're catching on. Luna: I love how logical German is. Lucas: Me too. Okay, let's review once more. Repeat after me: der Kopf. Luna: Der Kopf. Lucas: die Hand. Luna: Die Hand. Lucas: der Arm. Luna: Der Arm. Lucas: das Bein. Luna: Das Bein. Lucas: der Fuß. Luna: Der Fuß. Lucas: You did great today, Luna. And listeners, keep practicing these. They'll be super helpful next time you need to describe a pain or just talk about your body in German. See you next time. Luna: Tschüss!
