- 0:11Hey,
- 0:11Nathan.
- 0:12Hey Joe,
- 0:13how are you?
- 0:14I am living the dream.
- 0:15Thank you so much.
- 0:16Hey,
- 0:16a question coming into the radio show.
- 0:18Can I ask you this question of a listener?
- 0:21Absolutely.
- 0:22OK.
- 0:23Question is I bought a thermostat now,
- 0:25what should I do?
- 0:27I think I know your answer.
- 0:30Hopefully you kept the receipt and you can return it.
- 0:34Why is that?
- 0:36No,
- 0:36in all seriousness though?
- 0:37I mean,
- 0:37you know,
- 0:38that,
- 0:38that is a great question.
- 0:39So that does come up quite often.
- 0:41Um You know,
- 0:42and it's,
- 0:42they're,
- 0:43they're readily available.
- 0:44You can get one anywhere you go to your local hardware store or online or et cetera.
- 0:48Uh But oftentimes what we find is that people will buy uh their own thermostat and try to put it on and then oftentimes it leads into more issues,
- 0:56um maybe they're wired up differently or incorrectly.
- 0:59Um And it causes a short,
- 1:00sometimes it's as simple as it blows a fuse.
- 1:02Other times it takes out a transformer or maybe a circuit board or,
- 1:06or creates communication faults within the system.
- 1:08And so there are so many different types of systems out there uh from different staging to different types,
- 1:13different compatibilities and same with thermostats.
- 1:16Not all thermostats are universal thermostats.
- 1:19And so,
- 1:19uh not only just to,
- 1:21to save yours,
- 1:21save yourself the time uh of,
- 1:25of not getting your system back up and running as quickly as possible,
- 1:27but also to save yourself some money.
- 1:29I would suggest,
- 1:30um,
- 1:31calling a professional,
- 1:33uh,
- 1:33to ensure that we get the right thermostat for your system for your needs and that it gets installed correctly,
- 1:38not only installed correctly but also programmed correctly.
- 1:40So your system still works as efficiently as possible.
- 1:44I would agree.
- 1:45So,
- 1:45let me ask you a question.
- 1:46Let's say it's the holidays and someone received a new smart thermostat.
- 1:52It's a pretty nice product.
- 1:53It's a big brand name.
- 1:55Is it possible that you guys can come out and install it and make it compatible?
- 2:00It is possible.
- 2:01Yes.
- 2:01Yeah.
- 2:01So once again,
- 2:02depending on that,
- 2:03what system you have and,
- 2:04uh,
- 2:04depending on that thermostat,
- 2:06if it's everything is compatible.
- 2:07Um,
- 2:08that is a possibility.
- 2:09Yeah.
- 2:10Ok.
- 2:11And,
- 2:11but you really rather,
- 2:13uh,
- 2:13be able to match the,
- 2:17you know,
- 2:17the furnace and the air conditioning system with the correct thermostat and you guys keep this product stocked in the warehouse on the truck,
- 2:25don't you?
- 2:26Absolutely.
- 2:27Yeah.
- 2:27The trucks are fully stocked.
- 2:28Um,
- 2:29they're also in stock here at the shop.
- 2:30So we have lots of choices to choose from.
- 2:32Uh,
- 2:32the technician will have it on the truck when they're there.
- 2:34And another thing too to remember as far as for us,
- 2:36you know,
- 2:36personally is,
- 2:38uh,
- 2:38you know,
- 2:38even if you did,
- 2:39in that case,
- 2:40you did get one,
- 2:40maybe it's for Christmas or whatever.
- 2:42Um,
- 2:43and you want to put that on a lot of times too.
- 2:44I,
- 2:45not only us,
- 2:46but a lot of companies prefer to put it in and install um,
- 2:49parts that they sell versus ones that maybe you provide forces is a one on liability.
- 2:55Uh But two,
- 2:55it's just,
- 2:56it's just a long term relationship,
- 2:57right?
- 2:58And so typically when something happens and we install maybe your parts uh and something doesn't work later down the road,
- 3:04then,
- 3:05then it can cause a,
- 3:06a point in the finger.
- 3:07Right.
- 3:07Well,
- 3:08it's,
- 3:08it's the thermostat's fault,
- 3:09right?
- 3:09In this case,
- 3:10the part,
- 3:11well,
- 3:11no is because you wired it up wrong or this,
- 3:13that and the other.
- 3:14And for us as a company,
- 3:15we always like to take all the risk off of our customers and we put it all on us just like we don't have new terms and conditions,
- 3:20we have all written guarantees on our invoices.
- 3:23And so a lot of things that we do differently and so that when anything happens later down the road Hey,
- 3:28it's always us.
- 3:28Right.
- 3:29We got you.
- 3:29And which is why we give a lifetime,
- 3:31uh,
- 3:31warranty,
- 3:32uh,
- 3:32on all our repairs.
- 3:34Um,
- 3:35and so just lots of things to keep in mind sometimes saving a couple bucks up front,
- 3:39uh,
- 3:39to get that one off the shelf isn't always the long term,
- 3:42uh,
- 3:43best approach.
- 3:45It's best not to mess with the original equipment.
- 3:47Can you imagine,
- 3:48Nathan,
- 3:48someone taking a Ford F 150 replacing the engine with a Toyota going back to Ford saying it doesn't work.
- 3:56Yeah,
- 3:58that's not our engine,
- 3:59right?
- 4:00That,
- 4:00that's not compatible.
- 4:02And so I know that's an extreme example,
- 4:04but people can get these products now at home stores or online very easily.
- 4:12Yeah,
- 4:12it sounds crazy when you put it like that right in that analogy.
- 4:15But really that's what happens every day uh with a lot of people's H PAC systems with their heating cooling systems,
- 4:21uh or different things in the home.
- 4:23And so really that we shouldn't treat that any differently because uh there's a lot of things to take into consideration.
- 4:27You know,
- 4:28it's the utilities that you're paying each month.
- 4:30If it's not working correctly,
- 4:31it's the safety of,
- 4:32you know,
- 4:32your home and your family.
- 4:33Um,
- 4:34a lot of things go into that.
- 4:35So we wanna make sure everything is working 100% correctly properly and is a,
- 4:39is a match.
- 4:41And Nathan,
- 4:41I like what you said,
- 4:42the liability is on you.
- 4:43So when you come and install the thermostat and you come and you maintain my H VAC system when something goes wrong,
- 4:52I call you and your team comes out and they fix it because you're responsible for it now.
- 4:57Absolutely.
- 4:58And we're available 24 7.
- 4:59So you don't have to wait till tomorrow or,
- 5:02or Monday,
- 5:02right to go back to that particular store when they open.
- 5:05Uh,
- 5:05our team is readily available around the clock.
- 5:07So,
- 5:08uh,
- 5:08even if it is a holiday or middle of the night,
- 5:10uh,
- 5:10we're always there ready to,
- 5:12to serve our customers in need and I love your maintenance plans over time.
- 5:16People can be protected.
- 5:18That's fantastic.
- 5:19Absolutely.
- 5:20Nathan,
- 5:21thank you so much for joining me today on the program.
- 5:22Appreciate it.
- 5:23Hey,
- 5:24thank you.
- 5:24Have a good day.
