- 1:08Speaker 2: the Chasing No One podcast. That's the name of Jamar
- 1:12Speaker 2: Chase's new podcast, co-hosted by Annie Agar, and I think
- 1:17Speaker 2: it's really good. It helps to have a great guest list,
- 1:20Speaker 2: and on the first three episodes, Jamar has been joined
- 1:23Speaker 2: by Joe Burrow, T. Higgins, and Chad Johnson. But it's
- 1:26Speaker 2: more than that. Jamar is comfortable behind the mic, and
- 1:30Speaker 2: the conversations have been fun and informative. In other words,
- 1:35Speaker 2: not only is Jamar Chase the best wide receiver on
- 1:38Speaker 2: the planet, he's probably better than me at my job, too. Now,
- 1:44Speaker 2: time for radio replays from Sunday's three-point loss in the
- 1:47Speaker 2: Steel City.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It is one of the.
- 1:49Speaker 2: NFL's best rivalries, hard-hitting and hard-nosed, smash-mouth.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Football at its finest.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's the Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it is
- 2:01Speaker 2: time for the pigskin to fly here at Accresure Stadium.
- 2:06Speaker 2: The Steelers' offense had been putrid in the first two
- 2:09Speaker 2: games of the season, and the Bengals' defense had been sensational.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But as we've learned many times before, every week is
- 2:16Speaker 2: its own story in the NFL. And two minutes into
- 2:19Speaker 2: the game, a 38-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to
- 2:23Speaker 2: Roman Wilson gave Pittsburgh a 7-0 lead. But the Bengals
- 2:28Speaker 2: answered as Joe Burrow went 7-for-7 on the opening drive.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Burrow is under center. Pirine is the running back. First
- 2:35Speaker 2: and goal from the three. Burrow fakes a handoff.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Throws. It is caught. Jamar Chase. Touchdown. Bengals.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Burrow got rid of it before T.J. Watt could get
- 2:46Speaker 2: to him. And Jamar Chase cut inside of Asante Samuel
- 2:51Speaker 2: and hauled in his third touchdown pass in the last
- 2:54Speaker 2: two weeks. That tied the game, but Rodgers untied it.
- 2:58Speaker 2: on the Steelers' next possession. And it is first and
- 3:00Speaker 2: 10 at the Cincinnati 23. Rodgers fakes a handoff, now
- 3:05Speaker 2: throws downfield, Skorodik, wide open at the goal line, makes
- 3:09Speaker 2: the catch, and Aaron Rodgers has his second touchdown pass.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Of the first quarter.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The teams traded field goals in the second quarter, and
- 3:18Speaker 2: the Steelers led 17-10. with less than two minutes to
- 3:21Speaker 2: go in the half. Rodgers back to throw, looking left,
- 3:25Speaker 2: now begins looking over the middle, his pass, intercepted! Jordan
- 3:28Speaker 2: Battle running it back. He goes down at the 48
- 3:31Speaker 2: yard line. It was off the fingertips of Roman Wilson
- 3:35Speaker 2: and fluttered right into the hands of Jordan Battle and
- 3:38Speaker 2: the Bengals take over with 1.38 left in the half.
- 3:42Speaker 2: That was the Bengals' first interception of the year and
- 3:45Speaker 2: it helped Cincinnati tie the game. Burrow's been in the
- 3:48Speaker 2: shotgun for every snap on this drive. He catches the
- 3:51Speaker 2: shotgun snap.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Quick pass. Throwing deep. Tee Higgins fighting for it in
- 3:56Speaker 1: the end zone.
- 3:57Speaker 2: He falls down and makes the catch. Tee Higgins on
- 4:01Speaker 2: his keister. Calls in the touchdown pass. As the Bengals score,
- 4:07Speaker 2: Joe Burrow basically just threw it in the direction of
- 4:10Speaker 2: Tee Higgins.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And as he was being.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Tackled in the end zone, he lands on his rear
- 4:16Speaker 2: end with the ball falling into his stomach. The Bengals
- 4:19Speaker 2: got the ball to begin the third quarter and took
- 4:21Speaker 2: their first lead on a 38-yard field goal by Evan McPherson.
- 4:25Speaker 2: He's made 20 straight going back to last year, and
- 4:29Speaker 2: that's one off Shane Graham's team record for consecutive field goals.
- 4:33Speaker 2: But while Money Mac has been perfect this year, the
- 4:35Speaker 2: same cannot be said for the rest of the Bengals'
- 4:38Speaker 2: special teams units on Sunday. With a three-point lead midway
- 4:42Speaker 2: through the third, the defense forced the Steelers to punt.
- 4:45Speaker 2: But Cedric Johnson roughed the punter, giving Pittsburgh new life.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And Rodgers threw a six-yard touchdown pass to D.K. Metcalf
- 4:53Speaker 2: to give the Steelers a 24-20 lead, heading to the fourth.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Ninety seconds in, the Bengals elected to go for it
- 5:01Speaker 2: on fourth and two. at the Pittsburgh 25. Pittsburgh showing pressure.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Burrow catches the shotgun snap. Throws it deep downfield. Gusecki
- 5:10Speaker 2: with a fingertip catch at the goal line.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Touchdown. Bengals.
- 5:16Speaker 2: He's doing the gritty in Pittsburgh. As Cincinnati goes for
- 5:22Speaker 2: a deep shot on fourth and two at the 25.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And Burrow connects with Gusecki for the touchdown.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Boy, I'll tell you, that took some guts.
- 5:31Speaker 2: The Bengals had a three-point lead, and the defense quickly
- 5:35Speaker 2: forced the Steelers to punt again. Three straight incompletions forced
- 5:40Speaker 2: the Steelers to punt.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Johnston's punt will be caught. No, it's muffed!
- 5:44Speaker 2: And the Bengals try to pick it up instead of
- 5:47Speaker 2: falling on the ball. It was muffed by Keyshawn Williams.
- 5:51Speaker 1: P.J.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Jules tried to scoop it up, and the Steelers recover
- 5:56Speaker 2: inside the Bengals' 15-yard line.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Oh, brother.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The Steelers punted twice in the second half and the
- 6:03Speaker 2: Bengals did not get the ball either time. A Dexter
- 6:07Speaker 2: Lawrence sack forced Pittsburgh to settle for a field goal
- 6:10Speaker 2: and the game was tied with 8.45 to go. A
- 6:13Speaker 2: long kick return by Keyshawn Williams gave the Bengals the
- 6:16Speaker 2: ball at the 41, but the offense could not get
- 6:19Speaker 2: a first down. Ryan Rico's punt forced Pittsburgh to begin
- 6:22Speaker 2: from its own eight with seven and a half minutes
- 6:25Speaker 2: to go, but the Bengals defense could not force a punt.
- 6:28Speaker 2: A screen pass to 300-pound tight end Darnell Washington went
- 6:33Speaker 2: for a 47-yard gain, and a Chris Boswell field goal
- 6:37Speaker 2: gave Pittsburgh a three-point lead with 2.15 to go. Plenty
- 6:41Speaker 2: of time for a game-winning or game-tying drive, and Joe
- 6:45Speaker 2: Burrow moved the Bengals to the Pittsburgh 38. They were
- 6:48Speaker 2: within field goal range. with 53 seconds remaining. Shotgun snap.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Burrow in trouble, trying to get away. The ball is
- 6:56Speaker 2: knocked free. It's on the ground. Who has it at
- 7:00Speaker 2: the 50-yard line? Derek Harmon knocked it away from Joe Burrow,
- 7:05Speaker 2: and the Steelers have recovered. Sebastian Joseph Day falls on
- 7:13Speaker 2: the ball.
- 7:14Speaker 1: That was jarred loose by Derek Harmon.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Man.
- 7:19Speaker 2: The final score, Pittsburgh 30, Cincinnati 27. I talked to
- 7:24Speaker 2: Zach Taylor after the game. Coach, you managed to pull
- 7:28Speaker 2: into the lead in the fourth quarter. It's one of
- 7:30Speaker 2: those games where a couple of costly mistakes, special teams mistakes,
- 7:34Speaker 2: that's what cost you the game.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Yeah, we had our opportunities on offense, defense, and special
- 7:38Speaker 5: teams in the fourth quarter to win the game. We
- 7:42Speaker 5: all took a part in coming up short in that one.
- 7:44Speaker 5: It's tough when you feel like you're right there and
- 7:45Speaker 5: you've got a great opportunity to get out of Pittsburgh
- 7:48Speaker 5: with a win. But we didn't take care of it,
- 7:50Speaker 5: and that's life. You've got to be able to finish
- 7:52Speaker 5: these games, and today we weren't finishers.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Let's go back to the beginning of the game. Pittsburgh
- 7:56Speaker 2: came out throwing. I kind of felt going into the
- 7:59Speaker 2: game that they were going to try to stuff it
- 8:01Speaker 2: down your throat. The offense had been struggling. Did they
- 8:04Speaker 2: surprise you at all with the way that they attacked you?
- 8:06Speaker 5: He just did a good job. He got it out
- 8:07Speaker 5: of his hands quick. He wasn't going to let the
- 8:09Speaker 5: rush get to him, and that's been his MO his
- 8:12Speaker 5: whole career. He's going to find quick answers. He's really accurate.
- 8:14Speaker 5: He's not going to let the rush try to beat him.
- 8:17Speaker 5: and so for the most part, they just did a
- 8:18Speaker 5: good job staying ahead of the sticks to where you
- 8:20Speaker 5: can't really tee off and rush them, and they're in
- 8:22Speaker 5: a bunch of second manageables, and they weren't third and long,
- 8:25Speaker 5: and that was kind of the story of the game
- 8:27Speaker 5: there in the first half.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Your defense bent at points, but came up with some
- 8:31Speaker 2: great stops in the low red zone to at least
- 8:33Speaker 2: force field goal tries. I would think that would be
- 8:36Speaker 2: one of the better accomplishments by the defense today.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Sure.
- 8:39Speaker 5: I mean, we muffed the punt, and defense held them
- 8:42Speaker 5: right there to a field goal, actually knocked them backwards,
- 8:45Speaker 5: so that was a good stop by them there, and
- 8:46Speaker 5: then Obviously, we don't want to give up the long
- 8:48Speaker 5: plays on the last drive that got them down there,
- 8:50Speaker 5: but then they bowed up on the six-yard line and
- 8:52Speaker 5: got some stops and held them to a field goal
- 8:53Speaker 5: and gave us a chance to go win it with
- 8:55Speaker 5: a touchdown, and we just came up short.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Looked like Keyshawn had the ball hit his helmet on
- 8:59Speaker 2: that muff punt. Is that what happened?
- 9:01Speaker 5: You probably saw better than I did. Bottom line is
- 9:03Speaker 5: we just got to secure the ball and make a
- 9:04Speaker 5: play with it.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Twice in this game on fourth and two, you attacked.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You didn't try to run for three or four yards.
- 9:11Speaker 2: You threw a 21-yard pass to Jamar Chase and the
- 9:13Speaker 2: touchdown pass 25 yards. to Mike Kosicki, the trust that
- 9:17Speaker 2: you have in Joe in those situations is really telling.
- 9:20Speaker 4: It is.
- 9:20Speaker 5: You know, I thought our coaches had good plans for
- 9:23Speaker 5: those situations, and as the game went, you kind of
- 9:25Speaker 5: felt like it was one of those games where we
- 9:26Speaker 5: need to keep stealing these possessions. We ended up losing
- 9:29Speaker 5: two possessions, you know, with the rough in the kicker
- 9:31Speaker 5: and the muffed punt. But I thought those guys did
- 9:35Speaker 5: a great job executing and bit Malone some fourth down
- 9:37Speaker 5: to give us some opportunities to go in.
- 9:39Speaker 2: When you come to Pittsburgh and have a fourth-quarter lead
- 9:42Speaker 2: and let it slip away, how frustrating is that?
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yeah, it's really frustrating. You know, it was all right
- 9:47Speaker 5: there for us to take.
- 9:48Speaker 7: They took it. We didn't.
- 9:49Speaker 5: And that's as easy as that. And we got a
- 9:52Speaker 5: big one next week. So we'll see how we respond.
- 9:54Speaker 5: I think our guys will handle that the right way.
- 9:56Speaker 5: But it's a great opportunity for us at home in
- 9:57Speaker 5: front of our fans.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You beat Jacksonville at home last year. They haven't lost
- 10:00Speaker 2: many games since. They were dominating the Patriots today. Last
- 10:04Speaker 2: I looked, that's obviously become one of the better teams
- 10:06Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Yeah, they're a great team. They've got a lot of talent.
- 10:08Speaker 5: They're well coached. It'll be a difficult challenge for us,
- 10:10Speaker 5: but our guys will get prepared for it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Appreciate your time.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Thanks, Sam.
- 10:14Speaker 2: The game didn't come down to one play, but the
- 10:17Speaker 2: muffed punt by the normally sure-handed Keyshawn Williams was obviously costly.
- 10:23Speaker 2: It looked like that punt hit you in the helmet.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Is that what happened?
- 10:26Speaker 6: Yeah, it just got up on me. Misjudged it. A
- 10:31Speaker 6: little too eager to get going. Just didn't secure the ball.
- 10:35Speaker 2: He bounced back with a long kick return. The next
- 10:37Speaker 2: time you got your hands on the ball, were you
- 10:39Speaker 2: determined to more or less make up for that muffed punt?
- 10:44Speaker 6: It wasn't more so about making up for a mistake.
- 10:46Speaker 6: The mistake is a mistake. It was just about coming
- 10:48Speaker 6: back and showing I'm still in it, still trying to
- 10:51Speaker 6: help this team win a game after a costly mistake.
- 10:54Speaker 6: If anything, I was trying to erase that thought from
- 10:57Speaker 6: my mind just to continue to move forward. I'm just
- 11:01Speaker 6: glad I did get a chance to redeem myself a
- 11:04Speaker 6: little bit within that game.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You were here last year playing on the other side.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Do you know what this place is like? How noisy
- 11:10Speaker 2: was it out there? What was the atmosphere like?
- 11:13Speaker 6: It was a great atmosphere. I mean, it was a
- 11:16Speaker 6: great game overall, you know, from start to finish. It's
- 11:19Speaker 6: just a few costly mistakes that, you know, get the
- 11:23Speaker 6: crowd more involved than you would like, especially at that
- 11:26Speaker 6: point in the game. But, you know, it was a
- 11:28Speaker 6: great atmosphere.
- 11:30Speaker 2: The Bengals' special teams have been so good. And the
- 11:34Speaker 2: blocked punt, or I'm sorry, the roughing the punter and
- 11:36Speaker 2: then obviously the muff punt were costly. Is that frustrating
- 11:40Speaker 2: as a key member of those special teams units?
- 11:43Speaker 6: A hundred percent. I mean, the muff to punt is
- 11:45Speaker 6: a chance to get our offense back on the field.
- 11:48Speaker 6: And we gave them a chance to get the ball
- 11:49Speaker 6: back and they took it in a score day drive.
- 11:51Speaker 6: And then the muff punt allowed them to get three punts.
- 11:53Speaker 6: So we gave them 10 points off of two costly mistakes.
- 11:56Speaker 6: We should add our offense back on the field, trying
- 11:58Speaker 6: to gain or take advantage of that momentum. So yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 6: it's always going to be costly.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Got a chance to bounce back next week against a
- 12:05Speaker 2: really good team at home.
- 12:07Speaker 8: Yep.
- 12:07Speaker 6: You know, it's just all I can do is get
- 12:09Speaker 6: ready for the next opportunity.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Keyshawn, I appreciate you talking.
- 12:11Speaker 6: Appreciate you.
- 12:13Speaker 2: The biggest surprise on Sunday was how well the Steelers'
- 12:16Speaker 2: offense fared against the Bengals' attention-grabbing defense. Rodgers threw for
- 12:21Speaker 2: 292 yards and three touchdowns. Jalen Warren ran for 127
- 12:25Speaker 2: and added 49 receiving yards. And the Steelers went 7-for-12
- 12:31Speaker 2: on third-down conversions. Here are Barrett Carter and Dexter Lawrence.
- 12:37Speaker 9: It was just flat from the whole team today, especially
- 12:41Speaker 9: on defense. I feel like offense did a good job
- 12:43Speaker 9: of kind of compensating for us and our lack of stops,
- 12:46Speaker 9: and I feel like they were, our offense was marching
- 12:48Speaker 9: on them, so we have to, like I said, we
- 12:51Speaker 9: have to set the tone from the first snap, and
- 12:53Speaker 9: I feel like we didn't do that today.
- 12:54Speaker 7: We came out flat.
- 12:56Speaker 9: We settled in as the game kept going on, but
- 12:58Speaker 9: we have to be, from the first snap, we have
- 13:00Speaker 9: to set the tone, and we didn't do that today.
- 13:02Speaker 4: I know who we are. I know the men we
- 13:06Speaker 4: have in here. I have no doubt that we're going.
- 13:09Speaker 3: To come to practice next week and be locked in
- 13:12Speaker 3: and you know, eliminate mistakes.
- 13:17Speaker 4: A lot of, you know, what was going on was self-inflicted.
- 13:21Speaker 3: You know, I think it's a reminder, you know, that
- 13:24Speaker 3: it's to show y'all that we're not gonna go undefeated.
- 13:28Speaker 4: You know, no year is going to be perfect. If
- 13:31Speaker 4: it is, kudos.
- 13:33Speaker 3: But we know that we got to, you know, our
- 13:35Speaker 3: goal wasn't to go undefeated, you know.
- 13:38Speaker 4: So we own this. We come back next week and
- 13:41Speaker 4: we go out there and play.
- 13:43Speaker 7: It's just one step in the journey.
- 13:45Speaker 9: I hate, I'm not, I'm pissed off that we lost.
- 13:47Speaker 7: But I still, I love these guys.
- 13:50Speaker 9: I know that we have the right guys in this
- 13:51Speaker 9: locker room to respond and, you know, get back on track.
- 13:54Speaker 9: And we have a bunch of leaders who are going to,
- 13:57Speaker 9: obviously correct the mistakes and find out what went wrong,
- 13:59Speaker 9: but we're very, we're all, we know that this game
- 14:04Speaker 9: should not have gone the way that it went today,
- 14:07Speaker 9: but we have the right guys in the locker room
- 14:08Speaker 9: to respond. So we'll be back next week, and it's
- 14:10Speaker 9: going to start on Wednesday at practice, just being more
- 14:14Speaker 9: intentional and hammering those details out.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Every team in the AFC North is 2-1. As Cleveland
- 14:22Speaker 2: won its home opener 21-18 over the Panthers, and Baltimore
- 14:26Speaker 2: beat Dallas 34-31 on a 56-yard field goal at the gun. Now,
- 14:33Speaker 2: time for postgame analysis from former NFL quarterback Tony Pike. Tony,
- 14:38Speaker 2: we just walked out of the Bengals' locker room. The
- 14:41Speaker 2: overwhelming feeling in there is that this is a game
- 14:43Speaker 2: that they let slip through their fingers. They had a
- 14:46Speaker 2: fourth-quarter lead, but two really costly mistakes on special teams
- 14:50Speaker 2: were the biggest reasons why they're going to go home
- 14:52Speaker 2: with an L.
- 14:53Speaker 8: Yeah, just self-inflicted wounds, whether it was penalties, whether it
- 14:56Speaker 8: was the special teams unit, whether it was some missed
- 14:59Speaker 8: tackles on the defensive side of the ball. And then late,
- 15:01Speaker 8: the protection I thought held up fantastic all game against
- 15:04Speaker 8: this pass rush for the Steelers. It breaks down there
- 15:07Speaker 8: at the end. You're in field goal range to at
- 15:09Speaker 8: least tie the game. So many opportunities to win this
- 15:13Speaker 8: football game or at the very least take it to overtime.
- 15:16Speaker 8: But I think with that, you learn a lot as
- 15:19Speaker 8: a locker room. You learn a lot as a team
- 15:21Speaker 8: from the leaders in here. And also you look back
- 15:23Speaker 8: and know so many mistakes happened, and yet you were
- 15:26Speaker 8: still right there to win the game. You have to
- 15:27Speaker 8: take some positives from it as well.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Honestly, to me, the protection is the biggest positive from
- 15:32Speaker 2: this game. I mean, Orlando Brown Jr. was really solid.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Amarius Mims continues to play well. Yeah, unfortunately, Derek Harmon
- 15:40Speaker 2: made a play at the end of the game that
- 15:41Speaker 2: won the game for Pittsburgh. But when you can drop
- 15:44Speaker 2: back to throw as many times as they did, and
- 15:47Speaker 2: Joe Burrow is not getting hit, not getting sacked, That's
- 15:49Speaker 2: a very successful day for the O-line.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Yeah, again, I think out of this game, you take
- 15:54Speaker 8: a lot of positives. And it's hard to say after
- 15:56Speaker 8: a loss. And certainly you see the demeanor in the
- 15:58Speaker 8: locker room. But there's also a quiet confidence, I think,
- 16:01Speaker 8: as well of understanding who the team is, how they
- 16:04Speaker 8: bounce back. A lot was made about the offensive line
- 16:08Speaker 8: in Orlando Brown Jr. after the Houston Texans game. It's
- 16:11Speaker 8: arguably the best defensive front in football. And then you
- 16:13Speaker 8: came up against a really good one again today. And
- 16:16Speaker 8: for the most part, you held up. I thought that
- 16:18Speaker 8: was a good step forward. I thought it was another
- 16:20Speaker 8: good learning experience. And very rarely throughout the rest of
- 16:23Speaker 8: the year, you're going to go back-to-back weeks playing against
- 16:25Speaker 8: the fronts that they already have.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Why did a Steelers offense that's been so bad to
- 16:30Speaker 2: this point of the season look so good for much
- 16:33Speaker 2: of the game today?
- 16:34Speaker 8: I thought they spread the Bengals' defense out much more.
- 16:37Speaker 8: They used a ton of motions. They widened the field.
- 16:39Speaker 8: Aaron Rodgers got the ball out so quick. They took
- 16:43Speaker 8: chances when it became available, when they got those one-on-one looks.
- 16:47Speaker 8: They were able to beat the Bengals over the top
- 16:48Speaker 8: a couple times, which then loosens up the defense and
- 16:51Speaker 8: opened up the underneath routes more. And then Jalen Warren,
- 16:54Speaker 8: a really good back, too many missed tackles, too many
- 16:57Speaker 8: times that it felt like the Bengals at that second
- 17:00Speaker 8: unit were hesitant. Instead of attacking the line of scrimmage,
- 17:04Speaker 8: it allowed Jalen Warren to get to that second level,
- 17:07Speaker 8: which he becomes very dangerous against any team. So that's
- 17:10Speaker 8: Aaron Rodgers. It's a Hall of Fame quarterback. He challenged
- 17:13Speaker 8: his team and his coaching staff after their loss against
- 17:16Speaker 8: the New England Patriots. And they responded. He's done that
- 17:18Speaker 8: all throughout his career. It's why he's going to be
- 17:20Speaker 8: in Canton. You tip your cap, you make the adjustments,
- 17:23Speaker 8: and you move on because you're going to see the
- 17:24Speaker 8: team again.
- 17:25Speaker 2: We were talking before the game when we learned that
- 17:27Speaker 2: Rico Dowdle would not play for the Steelers today. I
- 17:31Speaker 2: actually thought that that was going to help Pittsburgh. That
- 17:34Speaker 2: is my respect level for Jalen Warren. Rico Dowdle's had
- 17:37Speaker 2: a couple of 1,000-yard seasons. He's a really good player.
- 17:40Speaker 2: But I think Jalen Warren is one of the most
- 17:42Speaker 2: underrated running backs in the NFL. He's good as a runner.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He's good as a receiver. And he put up big
- 17:46Speaker 2: yards today.
- 17:47Speaker 8: First pass of the game, he catches a simple check
- 17:50Speaker 8: down route and takes it 30 plus yards. And you
- 17:52Speaker 8: see right there the use of him in this offense
- 17:56Speaker 8: when you have to drop with depth at the second level.
- 17:59Speaker 8: And they did a good job of collapsing the ends today.
- 18:02Speaker 8: They respect Dexter Lawrence and say, OK, we're not going
- 18:05Speaker 8: to be able to run it up the middle much.
- 18:07Speaker 8: But they hit those outside the tackle runs often. They
- 18:10Speaker 8: got Jalen Warren on the edge. The Bengals were not
- 18:12Speaker 8: able to make the tackles in space that they had
- 18:14Speaker 8: done so well through the first two weeks. I think
- 18:16Speaker 8: that was a big reason why that they were unable
- 18:19Speaker 8: to stop a very, very talented, as you mentioned, running back.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Have your feelings about the Bengals changed in any way
- 18:25Speaker 2: after the game today?
- 18:26Speaker 8: No, I think as the sentiment was in the locker room,
- 18:31Speaker 8: self-inflicted wounds. And yet still through all of those, you're
- 18:35Speaker 8: standing at the end, the ball's in number nine's hand,
- 18:37Speaker 8: and you're moving into field goal range. You feel really
- 18:39Speaker 8: good about it. I think the fumble at the end
- 18:42Speaker 8: is tough because Joe's expecting it to be picked up.
- 18:45Speaker 8: So it wasn't a blitz. It wasn't a pressure where
- 18:47Speaker 8: you're on alert. You're kind of settled into the pocket
- 18:50Speaker 8: because you're at that point trying to go win the game.
- 18:52Speaker 8: You know you got the field goal.
- 18:53Speaker 7: It's unfortunate.
- 18:54Speaker 8: It's a tough role.
- 18:56Speaker 7: But again, the.
- 18:58Speaker 8: Self-inflicted wounds will be what carries over from this. But
- 19:02Speaker 8: the best thing about the National Football League, you got
- 19:04Speaker 8: to push it behind you quick. You get another chance
- 19:06Speaker 8: against a really good team in Jacksonville next week.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Have your feelings about the Steelers changed?
- 19:11Speaker 8: Anytime Aaron Rodgers is your quarterback, you're going to be dangerous.
- 19:16Speaker 8: And much like we talk about some slow starts with
- 19:18Speaker 8: the Bengals, Mike McCarthy was out of coaching for a
- 19:21Speaker 8: little bit. He's an offensive mind. He comes back in
- 19:23Speaker 8: and takes over the team. They had a slow start offensively.
- 19:26Speaker 8: That's not up to the standard of Aaron Rodgers. That's
- 19:28Speaker 8: why he made the statements he did last week. They
- 19:31Speaker 8: responded well. I think when all's said and done, you
- 19:33Speaker 8: know what they are on defense. They're going to be
- 19:35Speaker 8: a formidable offense as well. They're going to get better
- 19:38Speaker 8: As the season goes on.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Jacksonville rolls into town next week. They dominated the Patriots today.
- 19:43Speaker 2: A big passing performance for Trevor Lawrence. Since losing in
- 19:47Speaker 2: Cincinnati in week two last year. Jacksonville's been one of
- 19:50Speaker 2: the best teams in the NFL.
- 19:52Speaker 8: Liam Cohen, the head coach, last year in year one
- 19:55Speaker 8: did amazing things. He has settled in. Trevor Lawrence is finally,
- 19:59Speaker 8: I think, playing to that level of expectation when he
- 20:02Speaker 8: was coming out of Clemson that a lot of people
- 20:04Speaker 8: viewed him to get to. They've got talent at wide receiver.
- 20:08Speaker 8: Parker Washington is a wide receiver that not enough people
- 20:10Speaker 8: are talking about. Travis Hunter had an interception in that
- 20:13Speaker 8: game against the Patriots, the two-way star, still making plays.
- 20:16Speaker 8: It's a good team. It's a very good offense with
- 20:19Speaker 8: an offensive mind and coach that's extremely talented.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. I didn't know when we
- 20:25Speaker 2: would see the Bengals lose a game. It felt like
- 20:27Speaker 2: it might be a long time, but the AFC North
- 20:30Speaker 2: on the road, they are tough, and now the Bengals
- 20:32Speaker 2: have to look to bounce back and get to 3-1
- 20:34Speaker 2: next week.
- 20:35Speaker 8: I don't enjoy it. This as much as the first
- 20:37Speaker 8: couple ones of these that we got to do. But
- 20:40Speaker 8: then it is the AFC North, and you look across
- 20:43Speaker 8: the north, Cleveland is playing better. Baltimore is going to
- 20:46Speaker 8: have a tough one against the Cowboys. But any given
- 20:49Speaker 8: Sunday in the NFL, anything can happen, especially when you
- 20:52Speaker 8: shoot yourself in the foot. And that's not something this
- 20:55Speaker 8: Bengals team, I would expect them to continue to do.
- 20:57Speaker 8: I think that's why you still feel the confidence in
- 20:59Speaker 8: the locker room. There's a disappointment, but there's certainly not
- 21:02Speaker 8: a panic because of the roster that they have.
- 21:06Speaker 2: So Jacksonville is next on Sunday at 1 o'clock. The
- 21:09Speaker 2: Jags are 2-1 after embarrassing New England 35-6. Cincinnati opens
- 21:15Speaker 2: as a 2.5-point favorite. The Bengals Booth Podcast is brought
- 21:19Speaker 2: to you by Paycor, proud to be the Bengals' official
- 21:22Speaker 2: HR software provider. By AltaFiber, future-proof fiber internet designed to
- 21:27Speaker 2: elevate your home, business, and community to a new level.
- 21:31Speaker 2: And by Kettering Health. The best care for the best fans.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Kettering Health is the official health care provider of the Bengals.
- 21:38Speaker 2: There are roughly 1,700 players on NFL rosters, and you
- 21:42Speaker 2: would be hard-pressed to find anybody who took a more
- 21:46Speaker 2: unusual path to get there than Bengals wide receiver Dante Myers.
- 21:50Speaker 2: He simply refused to give up on his dream, even
- 21:53Speaker 2: when there was little reason to hope that it would
- 21:56Speaker 2: one day come true. In this week's Fun Facts segment,
- 22:00Speaker 2: we meet the person under the pads. Time for some
- 22:04Speaker 2: Fun Facts with wide receiver Dante Myers, born in Brooklyn
- 22:07Speaker 2: but raised in Georgia, not too far from Atlanta. Dante,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I read that when you were six, you told your
- 22:13Speaker 2: parents that you were going to be a pro football player.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Did they smile and say, that's nice, son? Or did
- 22:20Speaker 2: they encourage you to actually pursue that dream?
- 22:24Speaker 10: They encouraged me most definitely and also held me to
- 22:27Speaker 10: my promise. So every day they pushed me to it,
- 22:31Speaker 10: and they just made me accountable to what I said.
- 22:33Speaker 10: So even if I was outside, of course they let
- 22:35Speaker 10: me enjoy the game, but they made me make decisions
- 22:38Speaker 10: that reflected somebody that was serious about playing pro sports.
- 22:42Speaker 2: That's amazing. Tell us a little bit about your childhood.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I know you have several siblings. What did young Dante
- 22:48Speaker 2: Myers enjoy doing growing up in Georgia?
- 22:51Speaker 7: Playing with my family, my uncle. my auntie, my cousins
- 22:55Speaker 7: lived with us growing up. So it was a big family.
- 22:57Speaker 7: It was a big household. It was about 10 or
- 22:59Speaker 7: 12 of us.
- 22:59Speaker 10: So playing outside, um, it was crazy as my, my aunt, um, Lolly,
- 23:05Speaker 10: she passed, uh, growing up, but her kids, they marry, um,
- 23:10Speaker 10: me and my siblings. So I have a twin that's,
- 23:14Speaker 10: I would say like my twin, my cousin, Kendra, she's
- 23:15Speaker 10: my age, my oldest cousin, BJ, he's my brother's age.
- 23:18Speaker 10: And then my oldest cousin, uh, Marissa is like a
- 23:21Speaker 10: year or two older than my sister. So, you know,
- 23:23Speaker 10: we both, we all had somebody to play with. And
- 23:26Speaker 10: it was just fun playing with them, playing outside. We
- 23:28Speaker 10: had a big backyard, always had dogs. And, you know,
- 23:31Speaker 10: just playing with them, fighting, just being kids, you know.
- 23:35Speaker 10: That's something that I really miss and enjoy, you know,
- 23:38Speaker 10: just being close to them, growing.
- 23:39Speaker 7: Up with them.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I have a hard time believing that you didn't have
- 23:44Speaker 2: any Division I scholarship offers. You had to be fast
- 23:47Speaker 2: as a kid. Maybe you weren't the biggest kid in
- 23:49Speaker 2: the neighborhood, but To this day, do you know why?
- 23:51Speaker 10: I can attribute it to God having a plan because
- 23:57Speaker 10: I used to always wonder how or be frustrated and,
- 24:01Speaker 10: you know, just kind of confused and not understand, like,
- 24:04Speaker 10: what am I missing, you know? That was something that
- 24:07Speaker 10: kind of, I would say, frustrated me at a young
- 24:10Speaker 10: age because I was like, I know I was good,
- 24:11Speaker 10: I know I was talented, but I just, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 10: I feel like I just got overlooked. And I was
- 24:17Speaker 10: growing up in Gwinnett, going against people, that had all
- 24:20Speaker 10: the Power Five offers, you know, going to Norcross, seeing
- 24:23Speaker 10: all the college scouts in my practice, I was like, man,
- 24:26Speaker 10: what are they not seeing? Like, what am I not doing?
- 24:28Speaker 10: You know, so I don't know how. I guess I'm
- 24:32Speaker 10: a late bloomer.
- 24:34Speaker 2: We're chatting with Dante Myers. The first college that you
- 24:37Speaker 2: did attend was Presbyterian College in South Carolina. That was
- 24:41Speaker 2: on an academic scholarship, correct? How good of a student
- 24:44Speaker 2: were you?
- 24:45Speaker 7: My mom didn't play by my grades, so.
- 24:48Speaker 10: When it came to the classroom, I meant business. I
- 24:51Speaker 10: was not playing around. I took AP and IB classes
- 24:56Speaker 10: at Norcross, so I would say I was locked in
- 24:59Speaker 10: in the classroom as well as I was on the field.
- 25:02Speaker 2: After a couple of seasons at Presbyterian, you transferred to
- 25:05Speaker 2: Delta State, which is a Division II school in Mississippi
- 25:09Speaker 2: that's actually a lower level of football. Why did you
- 25:11Speaker 2: make that switch?
- 25:13Speaker 10: I just felt like I needed a change in the environment,
- 25:16Speaker 10: and I believed in what that conference, that football, and
- 25:20Speaker 10: what that opportunity was for me. I just felt like,
- 25:24Speaker 10: funny story, my high school coach that I grew up
- 25:26Speaker 10: with and my Little League coach, he was the coach
- 25:29Speaker 10: at that time at Delta State, and he kind of
- 25:32Speaker 10: understood that, you know, I just want to play more
- 25:34Speaker 10: competitive football, you know, and I feel like all those D2, but,
- 25:37Speaker 10: you know, they're playing some good football in the South,
- 25:39Speaker 10: kind of moved closer to my roots, even though South
- 25:41Speaker 10: Carolina is not too far from Georgia, but, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 10: Mississippi and those schools that were in the conference, you know,
- 25:45Speaker 10: in Delta State, It was like, okay, this is something
- 25:47Speaker 10: I'm going to do. You know, go against players that,
- 25:49Speaker 10: you know, were getting, had NFL looks, people that are
- 25:52Speaker 10: trying to go to the league, and it just made sense.
- 25:56Speaker 2: You did extremely well at Delta State. You got invited
- 25:59Speaker 2: to a rookie tryout camp with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023.
- 26:02Speaker 2: They didn't sign you at that point. A lot of
- 26:06Speaker 2: people might have said, okay, I pursued this dream. It's
- 26:09Speaker 2: just not going to happen. But you essentially doubled down.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Describe what you did at that point.
- 26:17Speaker 10: It was a decision that I made at a very
- 26:20Speaker 10: young age that I was never going to give up.
- 26:23Speaker 10: And even though they didn't see it at that time,
- 26:26Speaker 10: I knew what I was capable of. And, you know,
- 26:29Speaker 10: it's not my first time being overlooked or somebody not
- 26:32Speaker 10: seeing what's inside of me. So it was okay, you.
- 26:35Speaker 7: Know, their loss.
- 26:37Speaker 10: And it's all right, well, what does this look like?
- 26:39Speaker 10: What does me chasing this continue to look like? And
- 26:41Speaker 10: that's just what, you know, we've come too far to
- 26:43Speaker 10: look back now. You know, and just my parents supporting
- 26:46Speaker 10: and their, I would just say their commitment to dreams. Like,
- 26:50Speaker 10: you know, you've been, don't give up on your dream
- 26:52Speaker 10: now because somebody said no. And, yeah, it's like, okay,
- 26:56Speaker 10: that was just another no. Like, that's just not the
- 26:57Speaker 10: right yes. That's all I'm looking for is one yes.
- 26:59Speaker 10: And we'll be right where we need to be.
- 27:03Speaker 2: So what were those days like?
- 27:06Speaker 7: They were very interesting. I would say maturing days.
- 27:11Speaker 10: A lot of time in my car, a lot of
- 27:13Speaker 10: time alone working and just a lot of thoughts in
- 27:17Speaker 10: my head, you know, and just kind of not only
- 27:20Speaker 10: just encouraging myself, but appreciating the process and fall in
- 27:23Speaker 10: love with the grind. There's a I feel like I
- 27:27Speaker 10: forgot the Kobe quote, but it's like, you know, you
- 27:30Speaker 10: start when you fall in love with the process and
- 27:32Speaker 10: the grind, you know, that's kind of know when you
- 27:33Speaker 10: love the game for real.
- 27:34Speaker 7: And I just found myself like really enjoying this aspect
- 27:37Speaker 7: of it. Like, you know, I love being able to
- 27:39Speaker 7: continue to chase my dream.
- 27:40Speaker 10: Like I love, even though I'm not where I want
- 27:43Speaker 10: to be, I know I love working towards where I'm
- 27:45Speaker 10: going to be. I'm like, I just, every day I
- 27:47Speaker 10: would get up and just like, I wouldn't want to
- 27:49Speaker 10: do anything else. Like I don't want to start using
- 27:50Speaker 10: my degree. I don't want to transition. I don't want
- 27:52Speaker 10: to change a new career. I'm like, if this is
- 27:54Speaker 10: what it looks like to get there, all right, let's
- 27:56Speaker 10: do it. Like I'm doing a smile on my face
- 27:58Speaker 10: and do it to the best of my ability, you know,
- 28:01Speaker 10: and just Embrace it.
- 28:03Speaker 7: This is my life.
- 28:03Speaker 10: This is my story. Just take ownership of where I'm at.
- 28:05Speaker 10: Not beat myself up about my circumstances. I'm being present
- 28:09Speaker 10: and changing my perspective on what my life can be
- 28:11Speaker 10: and what it's going to be.
- 28:13Speaker 2: You worked out with a trainer in the morning, a
- 28:15Speaker 2: wide receiver coach later in the day, and then paid
- 28:19Speaker 2: the bills, drove DoorDash at night, correct?
- 28:22Speaker 7: Yep. That's the schedule routine. Work out in the morning,
- 28:27Speaker 7: receive a trainer, recovery, and then turn on the app.
- 28:32Speaker 10: You know, I remember I would get home, I would
- 28:36Speaker 10: usually take a nap, and then I would tell my
- 28:41Speaker 10: little brother, like, especially if it was on the weekend,
- 28:43Speaker 10: I'd tell him, okay, like, you know, when we get back,
- 28:45Speaker 10: we're going to get on the game, and then he
- 28:47Speaker 10: would stay up all night just waiting for me to
- 28:49Speaker 10: get home.
- 28:49Speaker 7: But while I was on the road, I would have
- 28:51Speaker 7: my music, I would have my specific playlist.
- 28:54Speaker 10: I did it with a smile on my face, just appreciating,
- 28:58Speaker 10: you know, the opportunity that I was chasing.
- 29:01Speaker 2: So after doing that for months, you learned that the
- 29:04Speaker 2: Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League were holding
- 29:07Speaker 2: an open tryout in Atlanta. So this is 2,000 miles
- 29:11Speaker 2: from Saskatchewan. Interested players had to pay $ 100 to take part.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Did you view that as your big chance?
- 29:19Speaker 4: Yes.
- 29:20Speaker 10: I felt like, well, I told myself that year I'm
- 29:22Speaker 10: going to do every possible workout that's available. I did
- 29:26Speaker 10: two XFL workouts, and then the CFL one was next.
- 29:29Speaker 10: So that was the next one on my list. And
- 29:31Speaker 10: then the UFO was after. So I put on my
- 29:34Speaker 10: calendar all these dates. So I had something I was
- 29:36Speaker 10: working towards and looking forward to. But after the XFL,
- 29:40Speaker 10: nothing kind of came out of that. And then the
- 29:42Speaker 10: CFL one was the next available one. So that was like,
- 29:45Speaker 10: I can't wait to go to this workout. You know,
- 29:48Speaker 10: so it was, I can't wait.
- 29:49Speaker 7: I'm just excited.
- 29:50Speaker 10: And then come to find out, Paul Jones, me, I'm
- 29:53Speaker 10: still close to this day. He was at, he came
- 29:56Speaker 10: to scout me at one of my college games. And
- 29:59Speaker 10: then he came to my pro day, too. I didn't
- 30:02Speaker 10: know at the.
- 30:02Speaker 7: Time before I went to the tryout.
- 30:05Speaker 6: But, you know, once I worked out of me and
- 30:07Speaker 6: started communicating, he kind of told me, yeah, man, I
- 30:10Speaker 6: know who you are.
- 30:11Speaker 7: You know, so it was a nice experience.
- 30:13Speaker 2: We're chatting with Dante Myers. Saskatchewan finally gave you your chance.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Then you broke your wrist in the first preseason game.
- 30:21Speaker 2: So you had to recover from that. Then you finally
- 30:23Speaker 2: got your chance in week 10 of the season, 100-yard game.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Another 100-yard game. And then you injured your shoulder and
- 30:29Speaker 2: needed surgery shortly after that. How tough was that mentally
- 30:34Speaker 2: when you had finally shown this is something I can do?
- 30:38Speaker 7: Extremely tough.
- 30:39Speaker 10: I would say that's one of the, if I look
- 30:42Speaker 10: back on my life, I would say that was one
- 30:43Speaker 10: of the hardest moments for me for a lot of reasons.
- 30:48Speaker 7: It just challenged everything that I believed in.
- 30:50Speaker 10: And that's when I would say I just had to
- 30:53Speaker 10: lean on my faith in my family because, you know,
- 30:55Speaker 10: just faith. when you're pursuing something for so long, when
- 30:58Speaker 10: you finally get it, when you feel like it just
- 30:59Speaker 10: snaps from you, especially to injury, something that you can't control.
- 31:02Speaker 7: Um, it's very frustrating.
- 31:03Speaker 10: And any athlete know, or people that work towards something,
- 31:06Speaker 10: when things happen that you can't control.
- 31:08Speaker 7: Those tend to be the most frustrating things.
- 31:10Speaker 10: And I felt like that, that was one of them
- 31:13Speaker 10: that I just had to rely on people around me
- 31:14Speaker 10: and just help me get through it because I just,
- 31:17Speaker 10: I wasn't Superman in that moment. I didn't have the
- 31:19Speaker 10: best mentality. I didn't have the, you know, the fortitude,
- 31:22Speaker 10: but okay, let's do it. I had to lean on
- 31:24Speaker 10: my family and, you know, my faith to be able
- 31:27Speaker 10: to lift me back up and to keep pushing me
- 31:29Speaker 10: when I kind of didn't have it for myself those days.
- 31:31Speaker 10: So that was a very pivotal moment in my life
- 31:34Speaker 10: in shaping who I am today and just the man
- 31:37Speaker 10: and just, you know, part of the journey.
- 31:39Speaker 2: You recovered from shoulder surgery, and then last year it
- 31:42Speaker 2: all came together. You stayed healthy. You had great stats.
- 31:45Speaker 2: You played for the Grey Cup champion in Saskatchewan, and
- 31:49Speaker 2: you started hearing from NFL teams. What was that like
- 31:54Speaker 2: when you learned there was interest from the NFL?
- 31:58Speaker 7: Sensational feeling.
- 32:00Speaker 10: To finally be recognized and, you know, to hear a buzz,
- 32:05Speaker 10: you know, that's something to check off the list, especially
- 32:07Speaker 10: after all the hard work and to understand, you know,
- 32:10Speaker 10: you want to step closer. And that's kind of what
- 32:13Speaker 10: a lot of the, I would say the successes, but,
- 32:17Speaker 10: you know, the positive things that happened in my life,
- 32:19Speaker 10: you know, it feels like you're getting closer, you know,
- 32:22Speaker 10: positive steps and just moving in the right direction.
- 32:24Speaker 7: And that was just a, I feel like it's a
- 32:26Speaker 7: win for.
- 32:26Speaker 10: The, for the good guys, you know, the people that
- 32:28Speaker 10: have stories that believe and, um, you know, that supported me.
- 32:31Speaker 7: It was like, it felt like a really good win,
- 32:32Speaker 7: a much needed win.
- 32:34Speaker 2: You worked out for the Bengals in December. You wound
- 32:36Speaker 2: up signing in January. What do you remember about that workout?
- 32:41Speaker 10: I remember having a amazing feel about coming to Cincinnati
- 32:44Speaker 10: because first of all, the stadium is similar to how
- 32:48Speaker 10: Saskatchewan stadium is. So Our locker room was in our
- 32:52Speaker 10: home stadium. You know, you come to the same building
- 32:54Speaker 10: every day. And it just has a similar home feel.
- 32:56Speaker 10: You know, I kind of, I don't know. I want
- 32:58Speaker 10: to say I don't like change, but I like familiar things.
- 33:00Speaker 10: You know, and this had a familiar feel. The guys
- 33:03Speaker 10: in the locker room, the people on the team, the city.
- 33:05Speaker 10: It's like, you know, I can see myself here. And
- 33:09Speaker 10: I just remember having a really good workout and just
- 33:11Speaker 10: having a very good first impression with everybody that I
- 33:14Speaker 10: interacted with, you know.
- 33:16Speaker 7: And that's what I remember, man.
- 33:19Speaker 2: So you become something of a social media sensation for
- 33:22Speaker 2: your remarkable story and the great preseason you had before
- 33:25Speaker 2: making the Bengals 53-man roster. Does it all feel real?
- 33:30Speaker 7: Yes and no.
- 33:31Speaker 10: It's hard to– I don't really look at the social
- 33:34Speaker 10: media stuff because, you know, I'm locked in, focused on
- 33:38Speaker 10: the season.
- 33:40Speaker 7: But coming to work every day most definitely feels real.
- 33:44Speaker 10: Practicing, putting on the jerseys, Competing with the guys in
- 33:48Speaker 10: this locker room, prepping for a game week, that most
- 33:51Speaker 10: definitely feels real. Playing in the NFL, most definitely feels real. And,
- 33:57Speaker 10: you know, I'm grateful for that.
- 33:59Speaker 2: All right, a few wild card topics now for Dante Myers.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Your first name has an unusual spelling. Is there a
- 34:05Speaker 2: story behind D-O-H-N-T-E?
- 34:09Speaker 7: My mom loved John. But all of my siblings, all
- 34:13Speaker 7: of our names started after a D because of my father.
- 34:16Speaker 7: So D and John, Don. And my uncle was named John,
- 34:22Speaker 7: so it just kind of made sense.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Okay, it's a blend. Do you have any nightmare tales
- 34:28Speaker 2: from being a late-night DoorDash driver?
- 34:31Speaker 7: No, no, no. No.
- 34:34Speaker 6: I did a lot of contactless delivery. But if it
- 34:38Speaker 6: was a little sketchy, I probably would call.
- 34:41Speaker 7: Them or confirm or take a picture, make sure. Is
- 34:45Speaker 7: this the right location?
- 34:47Speaker 6: But, yeah, a lot of people, you know, it was
- 34:48Speaker 6: a nice experience.
- 34:49Speaker 10: I didn't really have any crazy situations. Luckily, because, honestly,
- 34:53Speaker 10: people pay for it, you know. So they want their
- 34:57Speaker 10: food more than me.
- 35:00Speaker 2: How did you get your Saskatchewan Rough Riders championship ring?
- 35:03Speaker 10: I went up to Sask. I think we had a
- 35:06Speaker 10: long weekend during OTA. And they played, they opened, I think,
- 35:11Speaker 10: on Saturday or Friday. So I flew up there. I
- 35:15Speaker 10: was there for opening day. We did a banner reveal.
- 35:18Speaker 10: I got my ring and then I flew back Sunday
- 35:21Speaker 10: morning because my flight delayed.
- 35:22Speaker 7: So I was there for like 20 hours. I wasn't
- 35:24Speaker 7: even there for a whole day.
- 35:25Speaker 2: You said recently that orange is your favorite color. Seriously?
- 35:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:31Speaker 6: My older sister called me weird because it's been my
- 35:33Speaker 6: favorite color since I was a kid.
- 35:35Speaker 7: Like orange popsicle.
- 35:37Speaker 10: Every time we would make a character like in the game,
- 35:40Speaker 10: I'm always putting orange on them.
- 35:41Speaker 7: We color orange orange. Every time I was like, what's
- 35:44Speaker 7: your favorite color? Orange.
- 35:45Speaker 6: Like if you guys notice, like I used to have
- 35:47Speaker 6: a lot of orange, but I still have a lot
- 35:49Speaker 6: of orange clothes.
- 35:50Speaker 7: Like it was weird.
- 35:51Speaker 6: I would look up and I'll have like seven pairs
- 35:53Speaker 6: of orange shoes. Like where, I don't know. I just,
- 35:56Speaker 6: I just love orange.
- 35:58Speaker 2: You came to the right place.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Oh yeah. Most definitely. Then we said we're opening orange.
- 36:02Speaker 7: I said, oh yeah. I'm just, you know, I'm just
- 36:04Speaker 7: taking in all the wins.
- 36:06Speaker 2: All right. Final fun fact for Dante Myers. This one's
- 36:08Speaker 2: a little bit deep. If you could meet somebody in history,
- 36:12Speaker 2: living or deceased who would that person be i can
- 36:16Speaker 2: only choose one you can choose more than one.
- 36:20Speaker 10: I would say jesus paul michael jackson and oh and solomon.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Three religious figures and michael jackson.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Yep i already i want to meet michael i got
- 36:36Speaker 7: a lot of questions.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, when one of his songs comes on,
- 36:40Speaker 2: to this day, you can't help but start to bop
- 36:43Speaker 2: a little bit. I mean, the lasting power of his
- 36:46Speaker 2: music is incredible.
- 36:48Speaker 7: Oh, for sure.
- 36:49Speaker 10: I put on songs sometimes in the locker room, just
- 36:52Speaker 10: trying to dance and move. Y'all, the more you guys
- 36:54Speaker 10: get to know me, like, you know, I'll start busting
- 36:57Speaker 10: the move out randomly. Just song in my head I'm
- 37:00Speaker 10: listening to.
- 37:00Speaker 8: So, yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 2: This has been great. Congratulations on a great preseason and
- 37:06Speaker 2: making the Bengals 53-man roster. Best of luck this year.
- 37:08Speaker 7: Appreciate it, man. Thanks for this fun fax.
