- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to justin Cats. My name
- 0:17Speaker 2: is Michael Bennett on this Wednesday, July. That's one thing
- 0:23Speaker 2: I've missed so much. I'm coming in hot right now
- 0:26Speaker 2: just to let you I don't know what. I don't
- 0:28Speaker 2: know what's happened between us on our cross talk and
- 0:31Speaker 2: coming in now. I mean, my goodness, but I hope so.
- 0:35Speaker 2: But I hope everybody's doing well out there.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I have.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you right now, I've missed hearing
- 0:40Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. You know, a little later on,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I'm hoping to hear something else out of one Corey Price.
- 0:45Speaker 2: So I look forward to that as well. And I'm
- 0:47Speaker 2: sure you know what that is, justin, but we'll let
- 0:49Speaker 2: everybody else figure out what that is. I look forward
- 0:52Speaker 2: to so much hearing every time out of Corey's mouth.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I always thought you hated the home Day.
- 0:57Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, listen, no, I did not hate
- 1:01Speaker 2: the hump Day. It just always threw me off. Even
- 1:03Speaker 2: though when I'm like, Okay, he's gonna say it, he's
- 1:05Speaker 2: gonna say it, he's gonna say it, would still mess
- 1:07Speaker 2: me up. But anyway, No, I didn't know. There's nothing
- 1:10Speaker 2: that you do that I dislike. Well, that's my thing,
- 1:13Speaker 2: so I wouldn't. Okay, it is your thing. You gotta
- 1:15Speaker 2: stick to it. Yeah, you can't change it. Now everybody
- 1:18Speaker 2: wants you to say that. But anyway, I am sorry
- 1:21Speaker 2: about yesterday. I was kind of thrown off. I didn't
- 1:25Speaker 2: realize and totally forgot that I was traveling to Denver, Colorado.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So I'm going out. It's like, Okay, my flight is
- 1:36Speaker 2: at a certain time and I can't be on the radio.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So anyway, but I find myself out in Denver, Colorado
- 1:43Speaker 2: at six oh eight in the morning out here in Denver,
- 1:45Speaker 2: but it's eight o'clock my time. I mean, when you
- 1:48Speaker 2: traveled somewhere else with the time changes, do you stay
- 1:52Speaker 2: on Louisville time or do you try Eastern time or
- 1:55Speaker 2: do you try to acclimate to the time zone that
- 1:58Speaker 2: you are currently?
- 2:00Speaker 3: Well, Luckily for me, I am an incredible sleeper, so
- 2:06Speaker 3: I honestly I try to get into the time frame
- 2:09Speaker 3: of where I'm at.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Oh, do you really know? I like pretty much staying
- 2:15Speaker 2: the Louisville Eastern time zone is what I like to do.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I know why.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I just like to try to get myself out of that,
- 2:23Speaker 3: because I'm so habitual as it is anyways that when
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm anywhere on vacation I want to live on their time.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So I try not to think about, like the two
- 2:32Speaker 3: times I've been to Vegas, I try not to think
- 2:34Speaker 3: about that when it's one o'clock in the morning that
- 2:37Speaker 3: it's actually four o'clock in the morning back home, because
- 2:40Speaker 3: then that's just gonna take all the fun.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Out of it. For Yeah, yeah, okay, all fair enough.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But I'm just here for a few days. So I figured,
- 2:46Speaker 2: if I'm going to lose two hours, why do I
- 2:49Speaker 2: want to do it just for a few days and
- 2:50Speaker 2: then get back to the Eastern time zone on Sundays? Like, Okay,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I can't. I just can't do it. I'm going to
- 2:56Speaker 2: stay at the Eastern time zone. I've been up since
- 3:00Speaker 2: four o'clock here, So what's now. My wife has a
- 3:05Speaker 2: meeting out here, and she asked me if I'd like
- 3:07Speaker 2: to come along and tag along with her. So I said, yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 2: so that's what I'm doing. I'm just kind of a
- 3:11Speaker 2: tag along. And there's a big meeting out here for
- 3:15Speaker 2: Raymond James her company. And actually talked to Tom James yesterday,
- 3:19Speaker 2: one of the son of one of the James that
- 3:23Speaker 2: founded Raymond James and so you know, of course it's
- 3:27Speaker 2: a financial company, right, you know, it's a kind of
- 3:32Speaker 2: like Merrill Lynch or it's Raymond James. And the stadium
- 3:36Speaker 2: where the Bucks play is named after it Raymond James Stadium.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So that was pretty cool to talk to him. And
- 3:42Speaker 2: I kept referring to him as mister James, and he
- 3:44Speaker 2: looked at it says, would you please call me Tom?
- 3:48Speaker 2: I said, yes, sir, mister James. I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 3:52Speaker 2: I can't believe I just said that. So what a
- 3:54Speaker 2: nice guy he is. So that was fun to do that.
- 3:56Speaker 2: But I listen, I have been to Denver one time,
- 4:01Speaker 2: but it was just through the airport. I've never been
- 4:04Speaker 2: out here before. I've been I've gotten off at the
- 4:07Speaker 2: airport and gone to Colorado Springs for a meeting years ago,
- 4:11Speaker 2: but I've never been to Denver before. And of course
- 4:14Speaker 2: the first thing I looked up for me to go
- 4:17Speaker 2: do is are the Rockies in town? And my luck
- 4:20Speaker 2: is Rockies are playing in Los Angeles skins the Dodgers,
- 4:24Speaker 2: which really sucks because I drove right by the stadium
- 4:27Speaker 2: last night on the way to the hotel. But I
- 4:29Speaker 2: listen for anybody that's been to Denver, Colorado. I don't
- 4:33Speaker 2: know what to do here, so somebody tell me what
- 4:35Speaker 2: I need to go do. That's what I'm as you think,
- 4:38Speaker 2: So I'll tell you this. The view is absolutely magnificent.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I mean the all the mountains that you see beyond.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I don't know how far away they are. That was
- 4:48Speaker 2: my first question, is how far away are the mountains?
- 4:51Speaker 2: And you see him right there, but I don't have
- 4:55Speaker 2: a sense of the distance.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Break out your.
- 5:01Speaker 2: My range Oh is that what I should do? I
- 5:03Speaker 2: don't have my range finder. It's in my golf bag.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I didn't bring my golf bag out here. But I.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Really yeah, I've heard Denver's got some awesome golf cours.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Do they really? Okay, well, that's a mistake I meet.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But of course it's a mile high city. I know
- 5:19Speaker 2: that because they used to have Myle High Stadium. I
- 5:21Speaker 2: don't remember what they call. It's no longer myle High Stadium.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Is it where the Broncos play? I don't think so either.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Everything's sold so uh. The one thing that is in
- 5:30Speaker 2: the room that I have never seen before because I
- 5:33Speaker 2: was worried about this. I was worried about the elevation.
- 5:35Speaker 2: How was how am I going to adjust to the elevation.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I haven't found out had or experiencing any effects on it.
- 5:42Speaker 2: But I will notice on my desk right here there
- 5:46Speaker 2: is a can of oxygen. I will It's called boost oxygen.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I I have literally never seen this in a hotel
- 5:55Speaker 2: room before.
- 5:56Speaker 3: It's like the instead of the water that they put
- 5:58Speaker 3: on the desk, they.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Just pay exactly. It's right here next to a bottle
- 6:02Speaker 2: of wine and three bottles of mixers. Cocktail mixers are
- 6:07Speaker 2: Earl grade and NEGRONI smoked Old Fashioned, and an espresso
- 6:12Speaker 2: martini and then a stinking bottle of oxygen. I mean
- 6:16Speaker 2: that goes well with wine. Have you ever seen that before?
- 6:20Speaker 3: Never? No? No, no, have you had any issues with
- 6:23Speaker 3: your breathings that you've been there?
- 6:24Speaker 2: No? Like I just said a couple of minutes ago,
- 6:27Speaker 2: thanks for listening, I exactly. That's what I love about
- 6:31Speaker 2: you most is that I haven't experienced anything yet. I'm
- 6:35Speaker 2: waiting for it to happen though, So I mean, if
- 6:38Speaker 2: I haven't experienced yet, should I experience it later?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Probably not. I would have thought you would have experienced
- 6:46Speaker 3: it already. Now, if you go out and climb a
- 6:48Speaker 3: big mountain or whatever, I'm sure you'll need to bring that.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Oh really, yeah, I haven't thought about that. Well. I
- 6:55Speaker 2: remember watching a lot of the games when NFL teams
- 6:59Speaker 2: come to play the Broncos, it seems like more times
- 7:02Speaker 2: than not, there'll be a ride receiver, a running back
- 7:05Speaker 2: or somebody that has to run immediately the sideline and
- 7:08Speaker 2: get oxygen. Maybe just yeah, I gotta go outside, run
- 7:12Speaker 2: and all that kind of stuff, which you know how
- 7:15Speaker 2: I am with running, So come on, you can do it.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I know I could do it. I just like I
- 7:20Speaker 2: prefer to walk. I just I like walking. It's anyway,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I don't know running is there comes a time and
- 7:27Speaker 2: day that running is just not going to happen in
- 7:29Speaker 2: your life and it's not gonna well that too. Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 2: that's probably the only time I'm going to be here
- 7:35Speaker 2: or I'm trying to chase a woman. So and that's
- 7:37Speaker 2: the thing, Patricia. So anyway, she.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Looks a lot faster than you, I don't think.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, that's very true. Yes, yes, I can't
- 7:46Speaker 2: keep up with her. But anyway, I hope everybody's having
- 7:50Speaker 2: a good Wednesday as uh as we get ready for today.
- 7:56Speaker 2: A couple of big things that I think happened yesterday.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Number One is this whole Jay Bat athletic director situation.
- 8:06Speaker 2: He still hasn't gotten a start date. And I don't
- 8:10Speaker 2: know if you've seen all of this or not justin
- 8:12Speaker 2: but the reason that Kentucky signed him and didn't have
- 8:16Speaker 2: as big of a payout that they had to pay
- 8:20Speaker 2: to Michigan State is because of the president of the
- 8:25Speaker 2: university at Michigan State left, so that was a part
- 8:27Speaker 2: of the buyout. So since he left, the buyout of
- 8:31Speaker 2: Jay Bat was less to come to Kentucky. But the
- 8:34Speaker 2: big news yesterday at Michigan State and Clemson is that
- 8:38Speaker 2: the president of the university that was leaving Michigan State
- 8:42Speaker 2: going to Clemson backed out, saying he had personal reasons
- 8:50Speaker 2: that he could not take the job at Clemson, and
- 8:53Speaker 2: now he is staying at Michigan State. So now that
- 8:56Speaker 2: has an effect on all kinds of people. Number One,
- 9:00Speaker 2: A lot of the there are a lot of people
- 9:02Speaker 2: that were worried, well, is Jay Beat really going to
- 9:04Speaker 2: come to Kentucky. Now, Jay Bet made it very clear
- 9:08Speaker 2: and apparent that no, he is committed to Kentucky, he's
- 9:10Speaker 2: going to stay here. Unfortunately, it just made everything a
- 9:14Speaker 2: lot more expensive for Kentucky, sou because the university.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Like I just explained, no, I know I was listening
- 9:23Speaker 3: to but if if jay Batt left when the president left,
- 9:26Speaker 3: and there's is now coming back, then there that buyout
- 9:30Speaker 3: shouldn't go back up.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That's what I think, And I think that's a fantastic
- 9:35Speaker 2: That's one point I was going to bring up because
- 9:37Speaker 2: you thought the same thing I thought. It's like, well
- 9:39Speaker 2: wait a minute, now, the deal we had was when
- 9:42Speaker 2: the president was gone. Don't hold us a cannibal because
- 9:46Speaker 2: your president decided to change his mind and bail on
- 9:49Speaker 2: Clemson and go back to Michigan State. To me, I
- 9:52Speaker 2: think there is a lawsuit there that Kentucky should fight
- 9:56Speaker 2: this and say no, no, no, no, no, we're going to
- 9:58Speaker 2: keep this. But maybe there's something behind the sea of
- 10:01Speaker 2: the scenes deal where jay Bite said, well, let's just
- 10:04Speaker 2: go ahead and pay it out. I'm still gonna commit
- 10:06Speaker 2: to k Kentucky. So I don't know. It's ended up
- 10:09Speaker 2: costing UK about two and a half million more dollars,
- 10:13Speaker 2: which is a lot of money.
- 10:14Speaker 3: To me, what's done is done. That should there shouldn't
- 10:17Speaker 3: be no retroactive payments necessary.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, every time you say what's done is done, it
- 10:23Speaker 2: takes me back to John c Riley and step brothers.
- 10:26Speaker 2: What's done is done?
- 10:27Speaker 3: Dad.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But I'm sorry, I just I know, I just totally
- 10:30Speaker 2: squirreled on you. Do you know what reference I'm making?
- 10:33Speaker 2: I know, Yeah, talking about the boat fifty thousand times. Yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 2: I've probably seen it one hundred thousand times. So uh
- 10:39Speaker 2: but anyway, I just I'm like you, it seems like
- 10:43Speaker 2: there is something UK could say, Wait a minute, now,
- 10:47Speaker 2: our deal was done and you were gone, don't hold
- 10:50Speaker 2: us a cannibal because you changed your mind.
- 10:52Speaker 3: That's stupid.
- 10:53Speaker 2: The other part is what's the personal reason?
- 10:58Speaker 3: Maybe maybe he he's not a religious guy, and he
- 11:01Speaker 3: clashed with Dabbo.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Clemson the president. Yes, but he was going to Clemson.
- 11:08Speaker 2: What what does religion have to do with it?
- 11:10Speaker 3: Dabo was like all about Jesus and God conversations. It
- 11:16Speaker 3: was just too much.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Oh maybe he was kind of like the Egyptian coach.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So anyway, he's praisen to al Allah. But we'll talk
- 11:25Speaker 2: about that a little later. Because that's a nutty story.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But I don't know. I mean that just when when
- 11:30Speaker 2: somebody says I have to stay for personal reasons, when
- 11:33Speaker 2: you're as public of figure as you are, do you
- 11:37Speaker 2: feel like they should be required to say why they
- 11:40Speaker 2: have completely come out of their engagement with a university.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Forget that it's Clemson and forget that it's Michigan State.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Don't you think they should come out publicly and say
- 11:50Speaker 2: why they're not going now even though they had agreed
- 11:53Speaker 2: to go to that to that job and they turned
- 11:56Speaker 2: around and turned it down.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I don't know that's a slippery slope, because.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I know it's a slippery well, but this is a
- 12:02Speaker 2: very public situation.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Ideally they come out and they vaguely say what's going on,
- 12:08Speaker 3: like maybe I've got family issues or something.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But yeah, but that's where.
- 12:13Speaker 3: It becomes a slippery slope because then if you say
- 12:15Speaker 3: anything like that vaguely, questions are going to be fired
- 12:19Speaker 3: at you from everywhere, Well, what's what's going on? And
- 12:22Speaker 3: at a certain point, people's private lives have to stay private,
- 12:28Speaker 3: even if you are somebody that is in the public eye.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I understand. I just to me, it makes you know,
- 12:36Speaker 2: like I've always said it makes more subject matter more
- 12:40Speaker 2: of a subject matter when you are elusive about the
- 12:46Speaker 2: reasons behind it. When you just come out and say
- 12:48Speaker 2: here's the reason why, that ends all the questions. And
- 12:54Speaker 2: and so when you say a private matter, it's just like, Okay,
- 12:57Speaker 2: that raises more questions. So he doesn't have to, but
- 13:04Speaker 2: it certainly would stop all the questions. You just have
- 13:08Speaker 2: this mindset because you're curious what's going on. Of course,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it is like Iodo, what his person if he wants
- 13:17Speaker 2: to go back to Michigan State instead of Clemson, by
- 13:19Speaker 2: all means do it?
- 13:20Speaker 3: I don't really care.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Well, But but you know what if I left the
- 13:24Speaker 2: Big X and went to another radio station and then
- 13:28Speaker 2: guess what, I turned around and totally backed out of
- 13:31Speaker 2: the deal and said I'm going to stay at the
- 13:33Speaker 2: Big X. To me, in my mind, I'm going to
- 13:36Speaker 2: tell you why why I did that and why I
- 13:40Speaker 2: am I am staying at the Big X. But that's
- 13:42Speaker 2: just gonna come out.
- 13:43Speaker 3: But that's you, Michael. You're You're an open I am
- 13:46Speaker 3: an open book literally anything. Not everybody's like that. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 3: and maybe that's what's so frustrating to me.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I am an open book, and I'm not afraid to
- 13:55Speaker 2: talk about anything out there, even uncomfortable subject matter. And
- 14:00Speaker 2: there are uncomfortable subject matters for Michael Bennett. But I
- 14:03Speaker 2: just but I think it. I take it as a
- 14:05Speaker 2: challenge that even when you have that uncomfortable conversation, I
- 14:10Speaker 2: think you feel much better when you get it out
- 14:13Speaker 2: in the open, just like if I was upset with you.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I think there's a time and place to say it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I'm going to say it publicly, but I'm going to
- 14:20Speaker 2: say it to you personally and say, listen, here is why,
- 14:23Speaker 2: and here is what I'd like to see change. If
- 14:25Speaker 2: you can't do it, at least I explain my displeasure,
- 14:28Speaker 2: and you know where I stand. When people are just
- 14:31Speaker 2: there and act fake and act like, oh, everything's hunky
- 14:35Speaker 2: dory and happy in the back of their mind, No,
- 14:39Speaker 2: nothing's happy, nothing's good going on.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Those are the kind of people that just drive me nuts.
- 14:43Speaker 4: I've come out and say it. I've worked with those
- 14:45Speaker 4: kinds of people, you and me both exactly. I mean
- 14:48Speaker 4: last radio station, I had a guy like that, Oh no,
- 14:51Speaker 4: I love this guy, He's a great guy, and then
- 14:53Speaker 4: behind the scenes talk bad about me.
- 14:55Speaker 2: It's like really is that really how you are? And no,
- 14:58Speaker 2: I come out and say it. You're going to about me?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Tell me why anyway? I just I don't know. I
- 15:04Speaker 2: guess that's maybe that's bad, Maybe people don't like I
- 15:09Speaker 2: can tell you there are people out there that don't
- 15:10Speaker 2: like me because of how I am, But I can't
- 15:12Speaker 2: help that. We all have those people. Yeah, oh really
- 15:16Speaker 2: you have? So I'm one of those for you, is
- 15:18Speaker 2: what you're saying.
- 15:18Speaker 3: No, well, I mean we we we just all have
- 15:21Speaker 3: people in our lives that don't like us for one
- 15:22Speaker 3: reason or the other. Yeah, you're right, right or wrong,
- 15:26Speaker 3: but everybody's got their own opinion.
- 15:29Speaker 2: It's just kind of sad. But uh, anyway, I don't know.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I just I just wish you would come out and say,
- 15:34Speaker 2: I just I And you're right. It shouldn't matter. It
- 15:37Speaker 2: really shouldn't because I don't have anything to do with
- 15:39Speaker 2: Michigan State and I don't have anything to do with Clemson.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So are we are we worried at this juncture that
- 15:44Speaker 3: Jay Bat potentially goes back to Michigan's No.
- 15:47Speaker 2: No, I think we're at a point now. Jay Bat
- 15:49Speaker 2: has already verbally come out and said he's coming to Kentucky. Now,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I'm disappointed that we have to pay more money or
- 15:56Speaker 2: the Kentucky has paid more money, and I just, I
- 15:59Speaker 2: just it's just a reminder to me that Kentucky just
- 16:03Speaker 2: wastes money the university does, and it's time to make
- 16:08Speaker 2: some changes from the top. And I just I hate
- 16:11Speaker 2: to call out Eli Cappoluto. I think he's done a
- 16:14Speaker 2: wonderful job, but he's just like with Mitch Barnhardt, they're
- 16:17Speaker 2: both staying there too long and it's time to move on.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And why the board of trustees doesn't just come out
- 16:23Speaker 2: with the deal, say listen, thank you, doctor Capoluto, but
- 16:27Speaker 2: it's time you retire. We need to bring in some
- 16:30Speaker 2: new blood because I'm sick and tired of having all
- 16:33Speaker 2: these lifetime contracts seeing an ad give lifetime contracts then
- 16:36Speaker 2: have to buy out all that money wasted that we
- 16:41Speaker 2: could have used for athletes out there instead of this,
- 16:44Speaker 2: and then you got this situation, another two and a
- 16:47Speaker 2: half million just thrown out of the I don't get that.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That's honestly, that's like me buying a car in all
- 16:55Speaker 3: cash for let's say, nineteen thousand dollars, and then the
- 16:59Speaker 3: dealers calls me up two weeks later. Hey, Kelly, Bluebook
- 17:03Speaker 3: actually put the value of your car at twenty two thousand,
- 17:06Speaker 3: so you owe us another three grand. It's like, exactly right,
- 17:10Speaker 3: already my purchase you all messed up to begin with.
- 17:13Speaker 3: That's the same thing with this situation Kentucky.
- 17:16Speaker 2: That's exact way I feel Kentucky.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Should not be liable to cover extra charges because their
- 17:21Speaker 3: president decided to go back. That's the stupidest thing I've.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Ever heard, right, And I can't disagree with you whatsoever.
- 17:28Speaker 2: So and evidently something behind the scenes has happened to
- 17:33Speaker 2: force Kentucky to pay that. Maybe that was part of
- 17:35Speaker 2: the agreement. Listen, if you pay this, I'll and jay
- 17:38Speaker 2: Bett said I'll stay at Kentucky. So I can't figure
- 17:43Speaker 2: it out either. But you think Jay Batt would have
- 17:45Speaker 2: said the same thing. Listen, I'm committed to Kentucky. I
- 17:48Speaker 2: don't feel like we owe the Kentucky ows this extra money.
- 17:51Speaker 2: And maybe Jay Bett's the one not doing it.
- 17:53Speaker 3: You know who should have to pay this? Who the
- 17:57Speaker 3: guy that cried when all this stuff went down? Tom Oh, Tom,
- 18:01Speaker 3: I should have to pay all this money because you're crying.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Tom Izzo was probably a direct correlation of the president
- 18:09Speaker 3: coming back, because why do you not like Tom? I like,
- 18:14Speaker 3: but this this situation, when all that went down and
- 18:17Speaker 3: he came out and had his quotes that he had
- 18:20Speaker 3: just thought it was loser mentality.
- 18:22Speaker 2: So maybe I didn't. I didn't I I I looked
- 18:25Speaker 2: at it the other way around. I thought tom Izzo
- 18:27Speaker 2: was supporting his school, and evidently there's a few people
- 18:31Speaker 2: there that are really trying to run the school and
- 18:33Speaker 2: run a lot of people off. I liked what tom
- 18:35Speaker 2: Izzo did. I like the fact that he came out
- 18:38Speaker 2: and spoke honestly. There was no behind uh no, I'm
- 18:42Speaker 2: keeping my mouth shut. I like, to me, that wasn't
- 18:45Speaker 2: crier mentality. That was a person fighting for his school
- 18:50Speaker 2: and that he has been there for many years, loves
- 18:53Speaker 2: and is dedicated to. So I take the opposite approach
- 18:56Speaker 2: justin and I love exactly what Tom is o.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So give him all the give him the presidency, give
- 19:02Speaker 3: him the ad job basketball coach.
- 19:04Speaker 2: The same time, I don't think that will happen. I mean, listen,
- 19:09Speaker 2: it's been many years. I don't know if it happens anymore.
- 19:11Speaker 2: But there were coaches out there. Vince Dooley. I can
- 19:14Speaker 2: remember right now, the former coach at the University of
- 19:17Speaker 2: Georgia football coach was also the athletic director.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Tom is Oh.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I think he could do it, but I mean then
- 19:25Speaker 2: you see it in high school everywhere. Yeah, but it's different.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I see, I think it's different today. There's no way
- 19:31Speaker 2: a head coach of a major Division I school could
- 19:34Speaker 2: be also the athletic director. You got so much de bounce.
- 19:39Speaker 2: First of all, you got to go out and recruit
- 19:41Speaker 2: every single year in a completely different way than we
- 19:44Speaker 2: have in the past. Not only that, but you've got
- 19:46Speaker 2: to raise money. And that's the reason Jay Batt is
- 19:49Speaker 2: coming to Kentucky because of the fact that he is
- 19:51Speaker 2: supposedly really good at raising money. Do you think a
- 19:54Speaker 2: head coach would have time for that. He's got to
- 19:56Speaker 2: raise money for his own team. Now you're telling him
- 19:58Speaker 2: he's got to raise money for the entire school and
- 20:00Speaker 2: every team with the associated with the entire school. There's
- 20:03Speaker 2: no way could happen to me. I mean, realistically, it
- 20:06Speaker 2: can no, not at all. All Right, we gotta take
- 20:10Speaker 2: a break. When we come back, I want to talk
- 20:12Speaker 2: about this new team that UK basketball is trying to schedule,
- 20:16Speaker 2: and it's going to be scheduled in a place that
- 20:18Speaker 2: I just don't like. So anyway, stay right there. Justin's
- 20:21Speaker 2: already laughing at me. It's okay. We'll talk about as
- 20:25Speaker 2: soon as we get back. Stay right there. Five O
- 20:26Speaker 2: two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want to call in?
- 20:28Speaker 2: Five O two four one four fourteen fifty? You want
- 20:31Speaker 2: to text in on the Whiskey t text line? Are
- 20:33Speaker 2: you tweeting it? Just the Cat Radio? Lots more just
- 20:35Speaker 2: the cats coming right up? Fable two three eight four
- 21:14Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen. Pot, we want to call in? Fable two
- 21:16Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty. You want to text in
- 21:18Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Thief text line? Or you can tweet
- 21:21Speaker 2: me at just the Cat Radio. This used to be
- 21:24Speaker 2: one of the more iconic videos out there back in
- 21:28Speaker 2: the I guess it was the eighties. Robert Palmer and
- 21:31Speaker 2: they had these girls with the slick back hair and
- 21:35Speaker 2: the sunglasses on. They all had the same dress on us.
- 21:40Speaker 2: That to me, there are a few iconic videos back
- 21:45Speaker 2: from the real MTV days. I would say this is
- 21:48Speaker 2: one of them. It would be in the top twenty.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I think I probably if I came up with the list,
- 21:55Speaker 2: and I want to know if you would agree you're
- 21:58Speaker 2: not good summer topic right now. More of the iconic
- 22:04Speaker 2: videos from when MTV was really MTV. Michael Jackson would
- 22:08Speaker 2: definitely be probably number one, the whole what was the
- 22:15Speaker 2: one where they're all doing the Halloween theme? One thriller
- 22:19Speaker 2: that's it all right? That would be number one. I
- 22:23Speaker 2: think that Aerosmith, I know you hate that, but with
- 22:28Speaker 2: Alicia Silverstone when she was in the video that was
- 22:32Speaker 2: the song called Amazing, I think that was one of
- 22:35Speaker 2: the more iconic videos of the day. I'm trying to
- 22:40Speaker 2: think of what some other ones are. What do you
- 22:42Speaker 2: think are some more of the more iconic MTV videos
- 22:47Speaker 2: from the day.
- 22:48Speaker 3: So I pulled up a list here because I don't
- 22:51Speaker 3: I've never really been a music video type guy.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Now. I loved him.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I watched him when I was growing up before school
- 22:58Speaker 3: in the morning there right like it was the same
- 23:00Speaker 3: three songs every time. But still always enjoyed the videos.
- 23:04Speaker 3: But this list says take on me by Aha.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Oh yes, because that was a technologically shattering and groundbreaking
- 23:14Speaker 2: because half of it was real video, half of it
- 23:17Speaker 2: was like a drawing from a cartoon. I remember Aha,
- 23:20Speaker 2: remember we talked about that. Were you with me still
- 23:22Speaker 2: or were you on your little hiatus? I believe it
- 23:26Speaker 2: was the drummer that was from. I was on a
- 23:28Speaker 2: tour in Ogden, Norway, this past February, and the tour
- 23:32Speaker 2: guy kept asking me you ever heard of the band? Aha?
- 23:35Speaker 2: Well this is where he's from. I mean, it's like, okay, guy,
- 23:38Speaker 2: I know who ah, but that was kind of cool.
- 23:40Speaker 2: All right, what's the next one? It's got Sledgehammer by
- 23:43Speaker 2: Peter Gabriel. Sledge Hammer, really it was.
- 23:48Speaker 3: It's one of the praise by critics, is one of
- 23:50Speaker 3: the greatest videos of all time for its innovative use
- 23:53Speaker 3: of claymation and stop motion.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah that's okay, No, I hate Maybe it's because I
- 23:59Speaker 2: never liked that song. That was never much because you know,
- 24:02Speaker 2: Peter Gabriel was the original lead singer before Phil Collins
- 24:06Speaker 2: of Genesis. So no little tidbit of you know, right
- 24:12Speaker 2: there music information. But go ahead, a right, who else?
- 24:14Speaker 3: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Was there a video of it?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 24:20Speaker 2: I mean I know, really I didn't remember there was
- 24:23Speaker 2: a video of Bohemian Rhapsody.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Often cited as the first true professional promotional music video
- 24:30Speaker 3: that set the standard for how bands showcase their songs
- 24:32Speaker 3: visually interesting.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Okay, because that song came out in the like, what
- 24:37Speaker 2: mid seventies, late seventies, and there wasn't any place to
- 24:40Speaker 2: show that, so okay, all right, there you go. What
- 24:43Speaker 2: else is there?
- 24:44Speaker 3: Baby One More Time by Britney Spears. Wow, that's it?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, because she's got that Catholic school outfit on.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Is that the reason?
- 24:58Speaker 3: Yeah? My opinion, Toxic was a much better Britney Spears video.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I'd love that you're all things, Britney Spears. I've never
- 25:05Speaker 2: seen you smile like this in my life and shaking
- 25:08Speaker 2: your head. Yes, I wish everybody could see how you're
- 25:10Speaker 2: reacting to this conversation.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Two ten to thirteen year old Justin was.
- 25:14Speaker 2: A big Britney Spears guy. Okay, yeah, don't get me
- 25:18Speaker 2: in trouble right now. Okay, I don't want my wife
- 25:20Speaker 2: to hear this kind of conversation. Yeah, I listen. I
- 25:24Speaker 2: always thought Britney Spears was really pretty between her and Jessicason.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Not anymore.
- 25:29Speaker 2: No, but but that happens. I mean, I'm not good
- 25:31Speaker 2: looking at like I used to be. Okay, but uh,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I don't look the same anymore. So, But all right,
- 25:37Speaker 2: what's the next one?
- 25:39Speaker 5: Uh?
- 25:39Speaker 3: Last one on the list is Freedom ninety by George Mike.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Hmm. That's an interesting list. I'm not sure I necessarily
- 25:48Speaker 2: agree with it.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Because of the ninety supermodels, limps, limp, sink, lip syncing,
- 25:53Speaker 3: the lyrics.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Uh yeah, im okay, I to think of, man, maybe
- 26:03Speaker 2: more on the side of probably, there was a Madonna
- 26:07Speaker 2: one back then that was there were a few Madonna
- 26:11Speaker 2: ones that were very and I'm not saying I was
- 26:13Speaker 2: excited about them, but they were popular back then. Man,
- 26:18Speaker 2: I don't know, I just that's a that's a crazy
- 26:20Speaker 2: list right there. So anyway, UK men's basketball, let's talk
- 26:25Speaker 2: about them for a minute, because they were in talks
- 26:30Speaker 2: with Illinois to play a game down in Nashville. Well
- 26:36Speaker 2: that fell through, and now they are trying to finalize
- 26:39Speaker 2: a deal, which I like. I like the selection because
- 26:43Speaker 2: it's a team that UK doesn't play much. I think
- 26:46Speaker 2: it's going to be a pretty good one if it
- 26:47Speaker 2: comes to fruition. But they're in talks right now with
- 26:50Speaker 2: West Virginia and the Mountaineers. Do you like that they
- 26:53Speaker 2: might be playing West Virginia wouldn't much rather play Illinois,
- 26:59Speaker 2: would you really? You think that's a better game? Why
- 27:01Speaker 2: is that?
- 27:02Speaker 3: I mean it's a better Not only is it a
- 27:04Speaker 3: better game, I think it's a better team. They've got
- 27:06Speaker 3: more talent. It's gonna get you more prepared for tournament time.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I just West Virginia fob Kentucky fan doesn't really do
- 27:14Speaker 3: anything for me. Yeah, it's a regional rivalry, but yeah, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 3: Well is it really a regional rivalry?
- 27:21Speaker 2: I mean, we just lost to them in baseball, and
- 27:25Speaker 2: you know, we all kind of got sick and tired
- 27:26Speaker 2: of the whole uh uh take me Home Country Road
- 27:30Speaker 2: and all that whole thing.
- 27:31Speaker 3: But each state makes fun of each other for not
- 27:34Speaker 3: having teeth, So I would imagine it's a rivalry.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never made really West Virginia makes
- 27:39Speaker 2: friend of Kentucky. I've never really paid attention to West Virginia. Okay,
- 27:44Speaker 2: y do they really Okay, Well, it's just it's just envious.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But I look at it and think, Okay, it's an
- 27:51Speaker 2: okay match up because of the fact that it would
- 27:53Speaker 2: have been a lot better if it was Higgins still
- 27:55Speaker 2: the head coach here, excuse me. But if Higgins was
- 28:01Speaker 2: still there, I think it would be a much better matchup.
- 28:03Speaker 2: But now that he's not there, it's okay. Here's the part,
- 28:09Speaker 2: you know, I don't like is that it's on a
- 28:12Speaker 2: neutral site and it's in Nashville. Here we go again,
- 28:16Speaker 2: University of Kentucky making all kinds of money for Nashville, Tennessee.
- 28:20Speaker 3: That is not top ten teen. At least they're not
- 28:23Speaker 3: going to go down to Nashville and get smoked about thirty.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Well because of what happened with Gonzaga yet last year. Yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 2: you're right about that, but at least it was a
- 28:32Speaker 2: good matchup. So I look at it and think, on paper,
- 28:37Speaker 2: that's a good matchup. I don't know why we feel
- 28:40Speaker 2: the need at the University of Kentucky that we have
- 28:42Speaker 2: to go elsewhere and promote our team at a different
- 28:46Speaker 2: city when the poor people that are spending all this
- 28:51Speaker 2: money to have season tickets at Reparina now see good games,
- 28:55Speaker 2: go with somewhere else. I just that's the part I'm
- 28:58Speaker 2: tired of. And I'm like you, Illinois would have been
- 29:02Speaker 2: a much better matchup because Illinois is really up and coming,
- 29:05Speaker 2: and you got big Z coming back exactly, so you
- 29:09Speaker 2: got that going on. Uh, And isn't Orlando and Antigua
- 29:14Speaker 2: still at Illinois as an assistant coach. You've got a
- 29:16Speaker 2: little match up there. Why why would that fall through? Why?
- 29:20Speaker 2: What would be the reason that these two teams could
- 29:24Speaker 2: not come up and agreed to play against each other?
- 29:27Speaker 2: I mean, is it money?
- 29:28Speaker 3: But no, I would imagine it's scheduling elsewhere one of them.
- 29:33Speaker 3: It sounds like Illinois probably already had a game scheduled
- 29:35Speaker 3: or in the works for that day. They didn't want
- 29:38Speaker 3: to fudge off that. And I don't know, because I
- 29:40Speaker 3: would think the value of adding Kentucky to your schedule
- 29:43Speaker 3: would Yeah, I mean, and.
- 29:45Speaker 2: It's not terribly far for Illinois to travel to Nashville.
- 29:48Speaker 3: I think it would behove Kentucky as well to schedule Illinois.
- 29:51Speaker 3: That that feels like the much better game, because when
- 29:54Speaker 3: I think about Kentucky and West Virginia, really the only
- 29:58Speaker 3: thing that could make this game interesting to me is
- 30:00Speaker 3: if you had if you gave Kirk Cries a work release,
- 30:03Speaker 3: then he was an official for the game. The only
- 30:06Speaker 3: way it's more interesting.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Can I talk about Kirk Crew? You know what's bugging
- 30:11Speaker 2: me about this whole situation. Besides, it's a weird situation.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Have you read all that he was doing, having a
- 30:17Speaker 2: fake name and all this two and a half million dollars.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Here's here's what's frustrating me the most. It happened at
- 30:24Speaker 2: West Virginia, he played one year at UK, and then
- 30:28Speaker 2: he last year he played at Cincinnati. Yet every time
- 30:31Speaker 2: they have the report about talking about Kirk Chris and
- 30:34Speaker 2: this whole arrest by the FBI and investigation, they show
- 30:37Speaker 2: him in a UK uniform. Why are they showing him
- 30:40Speaker 2: in the UK uniform?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Great question?
- 30:44Speaker 2: I mean it does that is one thing. It's just like, okay,
- 30:47Speaker 2: are you trying to throw intentionally the University of Kentucky
- 30:51Speaker 2: under the bus even though he did this when he
- 30:54Speaker 2: wasn't at the Universe of Kentucky. Now, the only other
- 30:57Speaker 2: question I have is there any chance the Kentucky staff
- 31:03Speaker 2: caught wind of this while Kirk Christo was at UK?
- 31:08Speaker 3: Potentially yeah, I mean that's yeah, something I hadn't thought about,
- 31:12Speaker 3: but potentially yeah.
- 31:14Speaker 2: I want to talk about that a little moment we
- 31:15Speaker 2: get back, but we gotta take a break. Uh five
- 31:17Speaker 2: O two three four fourteen fifty five O two four
- 31:20Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty if you want to text me
- 31:23Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Thief text line, or you can tweet
- 31:24Speaker 2: me at Jessica A little quiet on the text line.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I'm a little disappointed. So if you want to be
- 31:29Speaker 2: a part of the show, please join us. Five O
- 31:31Speaker 2: two four one four fourteen fifty. We'll be right back.
- 31:33Speaker 5: This is just a cast.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I have a two three want to call. There's something
- 32:17Speaker 2: going on. I mean, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I just I have done nothing. Hold, okay, go, all right,
- 32:24Speaker 2: all right, there we go. Can you hear me now?
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah? It's still staticy. I don't know what's is it?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Really?
- 32:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:28Speaker 2: I don't. I've got great internet. I don't know what's
- 32:31Speaker 2: happening either.
- 32:32Speaker 3: It's not it's not you. It's something on my end.
- 32:34Speaker 2: That is okay. Well, I don't know what's going on.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Oh, there you go. Michael just said I'm leaving. I'm out.
- 32:43Speaker 3: You can handle the rest of just the cats for me.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Oh's see if we can get him reconnected here. Yeah,
- 32:51Speaker 3: I don't. I don't really know what's going on here
- 32:53Speaker 3: with our with our studio, my mic I've been told
- 32:55Speaker 3: it sounds fine. Anything coming from the computer though, is
- 32:59Speaker 3: sounding a little bit crazy, so hopefully we can get
- 33:02Speaker 3: that fixed and and get get it all back together.
- 33:05Speaker 3: There's Michael's try again. You you kind of just said
- 33:08Speaker 3: screw it your handle just.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I'm out of here. Is that better? I hope it's
- 33:12Speaker 2: better a little bit. Well, I'll shoot man. I don't
- 33:15Speaker 2: know what's going on. Everybody's complaining about what I'm doing.
- 33:18Speaker 2: But anyway, it's not your fault. I will put that up.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It's not okay, thank you, I really okay. Well, I
- 33:25Speaker 2: poor Johnny's he's it's like, uh, what's going on here?
- 33:29Speaker 2: And uh, Michelle is telling me your your services nerves Michael,
- 33:34Speaker 2: and then Justin as well said, uh, Michael's audio is
- 33:38Speaker 2: quite muffed. Not sure you can do anything about. But
- 33:42Speaker 2: it's rough sounding for sure. But I appreciate that. Uh.
- 33:46Speaker 2: He also said the music it's muffled too, But Justin's
- 33:49Speaker 2: mike is fine. Did you hear that? Yeah? All right?
- 33:52Speaker 2: And the commercials are good if that helps, uh pinpoint
- 33:56Speaker 2: the audio channel in question. Sorry, he used to help
- 33:59Speaker 2: run sound that my dad's band gigs. That's pretty cool. Yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 2: I agree, Josh texted out, I agree with Michael on
- 34:11Speaker 2: the Nashville thing. Why in the hell do you keep
- 34:14Speaker 2: putting money in other cities pockets? Play them at home? Well,
- 34:19Speaker 2: even if you want to play somewhere else, play them
- 34:22Speaker 2: in Louisville. You know, uh, the the state is putting
- 34:26Speaker 2: all kinds of the fair board is putting all kinds
- 34:29Speaker 2: of money in Freedom Hall. So why not just go
- 34:32Speaker 2: play some games at Freedom Hall? Again? I think the
- 34:35Speaker 2: nostalgia part would be kind of fun. We're gonna see
- 34:38Speaker 2: what it looks like when U of L and UK
- 34:40Speaker 2: play there. Well whatever the TBT la Familia and what
- 34:45Speaker 2: do they call the UFL team? The Ville, the vill Okay,
- 34:49Speaker 2: we're going to see what it looks like. But don't
- 34:51Speaker 2: you think with all the money that they're spending and
- 34:53Speaker 2: putting into Freedom Hall, let's play some games there? Quick
- 34:57Speaker 2: going to freaking Nashville. I don't Kentucky stop? Who is
- 35:02Speaker 2: ever making these decisions? You need to stop. This poor
- 35:07Speaker 2: state needs money. This poor city of Louisville, Lexington, they
- 35:12Speaker 2: need the money. You want to put me on a
- 35:15Speaker 2: rant as you talk about this, because every time I
- 35:17Speaker 2: turn around, we're playing a football game in Nashville. We're
- 35:20Speaker 2: playing a basketball game in Nashville. And I've had enough
- 35:23Speaker 2: of it. I mean, play a game in our state.
- 35:26Speaker 2: If you're not gonna play at Roparina, play it in Louisville.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I just I don't know that I will ever agree
- 35:31Speaker 3: with you on this because it's just to me. You're
- 35:35Speaker 3: giving and I've said this multiple times in the past,
- 35:38Speaker 3: and you always poo poo, and you're probably gonna do
- 35:40Speaker 3: it again.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Here, but you're yes, I am go ahead.
- 35:42Speaker 3: You're giving another faction of Kentucky fans an opportunity to
- 35:47Speaker 3: watch a game. Maybe maybe people that can't get up
- 35:50Speaker 3: to Lexington to check out a home game, maybe they
- 35:53Speaker 3: bank on that one Nashville game a year that hey,
- 35:57Speaker 3: this is the time of the year where I get
- 35:59Speaker 3: to watch my cats. Look at when they go down
- 36:01Speaker 3: to places like Atlanta or in the stadium's full of
- 36:05Speaker 3: Kentucky fans. Because you're giving those people an opportunity to
- 36:09Speaker 3: check out Kentucky games that maybe otherwise wouldn't have that opportunity.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Then go to Atlanta, you know what, Go to Atlanta. Okay,
- 36:16Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with that, Phil I do.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I do. You've got a large faction of fan base
- 36:22Speaker 2: down in Atlanta. We used to play the SEC tournament
- 36:25Speaker 2: down there. I liked it when the SEC rotated to
- 36:27Speaker 2: different places. Now we are stuck in Nashville, and I
- 36:31Speaker 2: think that's a poor decision, and it's going to get
- 36:34Speaker 2: to a point where people are gonna say, I don't
- 36:36Speaker 2: want to go to Nashville anymore. I mean, it was
- 36:38Speaker 2: fun going to one city one year, then you know,
- 36:41Speaker 2: you're excited about going to the next city. Then you're
- 36:43Speaker 2: excited about going to a different city. But going to
- 36:45Speaker 2: the same place every year gets old. And I'm tired
- 36:49Speaker 2: of it being Nashville. Nashville takes advantage of the fan base.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Nashville just ups the prices of the hotel rooms, all
- 36:56Speaker 2: the food places you want to go eat. Everything is
- 36:58Speaker 2: a lot more expensive when it's CEC tournament. And I'm
- 37:01Speaker 2: just sick and tired of taking being having Nashville Tennessee
- 37:05Speaker 2: take advantage of the Southeastern Conference fan base.
- 37:08Speaker 3: If you were if Nashville was in Kentucky, would you
- 37:11Speaker 3: feel the.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Same, Absolutely, because Louisville does the same thing during Derby
- 37:15Speaker 2: and I don't like it. Louisville has gotten to a
- 37:19Speaker 2: point and this is where all the restaurants are so
- 37:23Speaker 2: upset because they were up in the prices on all
- 37:25Speaker 2: the people that were coming. I think it's wrong. I
- 37:28Speaker 2: think you should charge maybe charge a little more, but
- 37:31Speaker 2: forcing people to stay. Uh, it was for the weekend.
- 37:36Speaker 2: You were forced to stay Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I think
- 37:40Speaker 2: the hotels now forced uh fans that are coming in
- 37:44Speaker 2: for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. I think it's
- 37:47Speaker 2: like a three or four night minimum if I believe
- 37:49Speaker 2: it's four nights. Am I wrong about that? Or do
- 37:52Speaker 2: you know it used to be in hotels typically what
- 37:54Speaker 2: we would do. Yeah, yeah, and see, I think that's wrong.
- 37:58Speaker 2: It's like, wait a minute, I'm paying this much for tickets.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Now you're going to charge me even more and require
- 38:04Speaker 2: me to be here this long. That's too much. And
- 38:07Speaker 2: then you got the special menus by all the restaurants
- 38:11Speaker 2: serve the food the way it's supposed to be. You
- 38:13Speaker 2: get the normal menu and the normal price. Yeah. I
- 38:16Speaker 2: don't like it. They do it at Super Bowls, they
- 38:19Speaker 2: do it at every major function that's out there, at
- 38:22Speaker 2: a big sporting event or big event, and I think
- 38:25Speaker 2: it's wrong. I just do. I don't like it. So therefore,
- 38:28Speaker 2: guess what all the regular people that want to go
- 38:31Speaker 2: to this their price out of it. They can't afford
- 38:33Speaker 2: to go out of these things. So yeah, if you
- 38:34Speaker 2: ask me about that, I think it's wrong.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I mean, I'm okay with you having that mindset. But again,
- 38:42Speaker 3: like I said, I enjoy other people getting an opportunity
- 38:46Speaker 3: to check out you.
- 38:48Speaker 2: One person said, is Michael doing the show from a shower? Again?
- 38:53Speaker 2: I heard the real reason Scoots had to run away
- 38:56Speaker 2: was because Michael requested for Scoots to loof Is do
- 39:04Speaker 2: people still use loofahs? I would think so do they really?
- 39:08Speaker 2: Do you use the looper?
- 39:09Speaker 3: I do not know.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I do not either. I've never used a loofer.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I'm a hand guy.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Is this is this? I can't believe you. Oh my gosh, washrag?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Oh you don't. Okay, neither. I just I use body wash.
- 39:30Speaker 2: I don't use soap. I use body wash. Are you
- 39:33Speaker 2: do you put it on a washrag or do you
- 39:35Speaker 2: just put it on your hands? I put it on
- 39:37Speaker 2: my hand and just scrab Yeah, I don't. I don't
- 39:41Speaker 2: think I have ever used a loofer. I just what's
- 39:45Speaker 2: the point of a loofah? Great question? I mean, the
- 39:48Speaker 2: only time I remember somebody using a loofer was in
- 39:51Speaker 2: Caddyshack and the the Mother Ted Knight's wife, and that
- 39:56Speaker 2: would you please come loofah my back? And I just
- 40:00Speaker 2: I don't know why that reminded me of it, but anyway,
- 40:03Speaker 2: go ye, we got horrible sound today and I'm talking
- 40:06Speaker 2: about loofahs on the radio. So anyway, maybe I'm just
- 40:10Speaker 2: going nuts, but one percent, my dad had a thirty
- 40:14Speaker 2: two channel peetee board that was about five foot six,
- 40:19Speaker 2: about five by six and over one hundred pounds. Pretty
- 40:22Speaker 2: sure the studio has newer, better stuff, and I wouldn't
- 40:26Speaker 2: know where to begin.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Well, there you go. That's where you're wrong. Justin as well,
- 40:30Speaker 3: I'd imagine this board we have in here. It's probably
- 40:33Speaker 3: about six foot by five foot. It's probably maybe the
- 40:35Speaker 3: exact same one your dad used.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Josh, and I use a wash rag, did I say
- 40:42Speaker 2: wash I do? Yeah I did. But Scoot's doing the
- 40:46Speaker 2: handschive in the shower is an image I didn't need
- 40:50Speaker 2: to see.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Shouldn't have pictured it, man, shouldn't have pictured it.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Well, as soon as you said, it's like, oh, this
- 40:57Speaker 2: is not going anywhere, okay, But yeah, I do put
- 41:01Speaker 2: my rs in places that they shouldn't be, so I'm
- 41:04Speaker 2: not going to apologize for that, but I know we
- 41:08Speaker 2: got a break for our first hour coming to it.
- 41:11Speaker 2: How much time do we have?
- 41:13Speaker 3: We have about three minutes and hang time. Alright, I'm
- 41:16Speaker 3: gonna try something here, see if we can get this
- 41:18Speaker 3: step at all?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 41:19Speaker 3: Test form?
- 41:20Speaker 5: All right?
- 41:20Speaker 2: How's that?
- 41:21Speaker 3: Is that a little better? It sounds the same again?
- 41:24Speaker 2: All right? I'm right here? Do I sound any better?
- 41:26Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on. Normally we never have
- 41:29Speaker 2: technical issues. Now we never do you I did, clearly.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I totally jinxed it. But all right, love Familia, let's
- 41:39Speaker 2: talk about them for a couple of minutes. Gained two
- 41:41Speaker 2: new players and possibly three so Quade Green is coming back,
- 41:46Speaker 2: who last played for Kentucky back in twenty nineteen before
- 41:49Speaker 2: he transferred to Washington and finished his career. Now they're
- 41:53Speaker 2: also pilfering players from other teams Maryland former Maryland guard
- 41:59Speaker 2: six foot three Darryl Morsel, who last played a the
- 42:05Speaker 2: last few years played for the TBT team called the
- 42:09Speaker 2: shell Shock. Do you like that Kentucky is going and
- 42:14Speaker 2: getting players from other teams now because he averaged twelve
- 42:17Speaker 2: points per game last year?
- 42:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you almost have to with this type
- 42:21Speaker 3: of tournament, right, Like you you want to have as
- 42:24Speaker 3: much of your alumni on the team as possible to
- 42:27Speaker 3: get the fan base as invested as possible, but you
- 42:30Speaker 3: also don't want to have I mean, if you can
- 42:33Speaker 3: go out and get talent from otherwere and you have
- 42:37Speaker 3: four spots, I believe is what it is to be
- 42:39Speaker 3: able to go out and sign guys from other schools,
- 42:41Speaker 3: then yeah, by all means you got to do that
- 42:44Speaker 3: because at the end of the day, it's two million
- 42:46Speaker 3: dollars and you want to win that two million dollars.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So ideally you have the best players on your roster
- 42:50Speaker 3: to help you be able to do that.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Do you think the possible addition and some people are
- 42:56Speaker 2: confirming that DeAndre Liggins is going to join the team,
- 42:59Speaker 2: is that a good situation?
- 43:01Speaker 3: It feels like with the reaction from Twitter yesterday that
- 43:05Speaker 3: DeAndre Liggins is an extreme positive development for TVs.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Yeah. So with these three players, Quade Green, the former
- 43:17Speaker 2: Maryland player, Darryl Morsel, and DeAndre Liggins, you still think
- 43:21Speaker 2: U of l or Louisville, the Bill has a better
- 43:23Speaker 2: team than Familia.
- 43:26Speaker 3: I said, as it stands, right, now because Liggans has
- 43:28Speaker 3: not been officially at all.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Okay, well Liiggans is going to join. I'm just gonna
- 43:32Speaker 2: tell you and predict that right now. So with Liggins
- 43:34Speaker 2: coming on, how do you feel about La Familia?
- 43:40Speaker 3: I mean, definitely better. I do think they have the
- 43:43Speaker 3: team to be able to compete. They like you said
- 43:46Speaker 3: on cross Talk, there's they're lacking size a little bit.
- 43:49Speaker 3: You need some help for Willie coley Stein, but he
- 43:52Speaker 3: was pretty dang good last year in the TV. He
- 43:54Speaker 3: was good, so I don't know that he necessarily needs
- 43:57Speaker 3: all that much help as long as you can get
- 44:00Speaker 3: boring from somewhere, and it feels like they're set up
- 44:02Speaker 3: to do just that with the amount of guards that
- 44:04Speaker 3: are on this team.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah, without DeAndre Liggins, they're at five guards, three forwards
- 44:09Speaker 2: in one center. That's where we are, So yeah, we
- 44:12Speaker 2: Willie cally Stein definitely needs some help. It can't be
- 44:15Speaker 2: just him, So somebody's got to figure out a way
- 44:17Speaker 2: to get somebody else to join this team and get
- 44:19Speaker 2: some size back there instead of just heavily relying on
- 44:22Speaker 2: Willy cally Stein, even though that guy's in great shape
- 44:25Speaker 2: and he's still playing great basketball. I would like to
- 44:27Speaker 2: know what they're doing the rest of the year, wouldn't you,
- 44:29Speaker 2: would it be? I don't know where's DeAndre Liggins been,
- 44:33Speaker 2: but great question. I have no idea unless he's been
- 44:37Speaker 2: playing in Asia. So all right, we're gonna take a break.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Hour two coming right up, and hopefully we can pick
- 44:42Speaker 2: the sound too. So anyway, see in a minute, stay
- 44:44Speaker 2: right there. More than this Cats.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Coming Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I wish everybody could see you right now. It sounds terrible.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's just gonna be one of those days.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I don't don't. Is it worse?
- 45:16Speaker 3: No, I mean it's about the same. But I was
- 45:18Speaker 3: really hoping what I did during the break there would help.
- 45:20Speaker 3: The situation does not seem like it did.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Okay, Well, justin as well say said that we would
- 45:27Speaker 2: pot the knob of the channel that was staticky, turning
- 45:31Speaker 2: it up and down to get the dust out of it.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Also check the input line for good connection and no
- 45:40Speaker 2: shorts in it. That's about the extent of my experience, guys,
- 45:44Speaker 2: So will you be honest, I don't really know what
- 45:47Speaker 2: all I'm doing under the board. I know what I'm
- 45:50Speaker 2: doing on top of the board. Obviously, I've been producing
- 45:52Speaker 2: for years. But I opened the lid during the break
- 45:55Speaker 2: there and I was checking everything out. Everything looks normal
- 45:58Speaker 2: coming from that pot.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Have no idea, and I have not heard from our engineer,
- 46:02Speaker 3: so I'm getting a little annoyed.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Uh, Josh texted I pronounced I pronounce as wash. However,
- 46:11Speaker 2: my grandfather was from Adair County worked on a farm,
- 46:15Speaker 2: so you know I fully identify with Wash as well.
- 46:19Speaker 2: So yeah, I just I say things a certain way
- 46:22Speaker 2: and I'm not going to change. I mean, I say wash,
- 46:26Speaker 2: I say, I say. My kids really make fun of
- 46:30Speaker 2: me when I say, uh, the liquid that you put
- 46:33Speaker 2: in a card not gas, But what is the other
- 46:35Speaker 2: thing you have to add a lot of I say, oh, exactly.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Or if I want to, uh make some water really hot,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I say, bull, I need to bowl. I need to
- 46:48Speaker 2: bowl some water. I just I do I realize I say,
- 46:52Speaker 2: and I say, my what drives my I know it
- 46:55Speaker 2: does my father in law. I don't do it intentionally
- 46:57Speaker 2: because he's full blooded Italian and it drives him crazy.
- 47:01Speaker 2: He's like Michael, it's Italian. I've just always said it
- 47:04Speaker 2: a certain way because my parents said the same thing,
- 47:07Speaker 2: So I don't know. Is it bad that I don't
- 47:10Speaker 2: correct myself? My wife does? Get here Dad, It's like Michael,
- 47:13Speaker 2: you're of a certain age. You should be able to
- 47:14Speaker 2: speak differently if you want.
- 47:16Speaker 3: You are who you are.
- 47:17Speaker 2: At this point, I think I am and I just
- 47:19Speaker 2: I like who I am, and I'm not going to change.
- 47:22Speaker 2: So I say Italian but anyway, I just whatever. But Okay, well, uh,
- 47:28Speaker 2: it's not Tuesday, but we're acting like it's Tuesday. So
- 47:31Speaker 2: you know what that means, don't you? Justin Cory Price,
- 47:53Speaker 2: I appreciate you taking a day uh and and missing
- 47:57Speaker 2: out yesterday but coming in this morning, and it's always
- 48:00Speaker 2: nice to have you on here. And you reminded me
- 48:03Speaker 2: of something yesterday which I didn't realize you remember the date. Well,
- 48:07Speaker 2: I don't know why I should be surprised about that,
- 48:09Speaker 2: but evidently this is a bit of an anniversary for you.
- 48:14Speaker 6: Yes, And I can't say we're kind of going back
- 48:16Speaker 6: in time with Scoots being back. It's been oh I
- 48:21Speaker 6: think I think it's been six weeks since he lasted
- 48:24Speaker 6: the show. With this, so happy a Scoots back, and
- 48:26Speaker 6: of course Scoots can.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Suck it so, and that's the part I love the
- 48:32Speaker 2: most exactly, That's the part I've been looking forward to.
- 48:35Speaker 2: So I appreciate that, Corey.
- 48:37Speaker 6: But yes, seven years ago to day, I was on
- 48:40Speaker 6: the radio for the very first time with you on
- 48:43Speaker 6: your show. Actually I wish it was under better, better circumstances.
- 48:53Speaker 6: Jared Lorenz and passed away I think five days prior,
- 48:57Speaker 6: and so we had a show where we talked.
- 49:01Speaker 2: A couple of his.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Former teammates and it was it was awesome and uh,
- 49:05Speaker 6: I guess the rest of his history.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Corey actually went back and listened to that entire episode.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Did you realize probably like three months four months ago?
- 49:15Speaker 3: I don't remember when when it quite was, But.
- 49:17Speaker 2: What made you do that is what I want to know.
- 49:21Speaker 6: It likes the sound of my voice.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Probably we were actually talking about that episode for some reason,
- 49:28Speaker 3: so I went and out went and found it and
- 49:30Speaker 3: listened to it. I just wanted to say, you've come
- 49:33Speaker 3: a long way, my friend.
- 49:35Speaker 6: Yeah, that that first day was was rough, but you
- 49:38Speaker 6: know I got got through it and here I am now.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah it was I'm trying to think we had Derek
- 49:48Speaker 2: the former tight end from UK.
- 49:50Speaker 6: We had Derek Abney Derek, Derek Uh, Antonio Hall. Was
- 49:58Speaker 6: that the day we had how mommy, we tried, uh
- 50:02Speaker 6: because I got in touch with him, but something happened.
- 50:06Speaker 2: And he was okay. He must have come on like
- 50:08Speaker 2: a week later, because he did come on the show
- 50:10Speaker 2: with me and he was a lot of fun to
- 50:11Speaker 2: talk to. But yeah, Derek Adam again, I can't remember.
- 50:16Speaker 6: His name, Derek ad Me, Derek Smith, Derek, Yeah, Antonio Hall,
- 50:22Speaker 6: I think we're yeah, Yeah, those were fun guys.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Uh. Rich Brooks came on a few days later and
- 50:28Speaker 2: talked with us, talked with me about Jared and of course,
- 50:32Speaker 2: you know Rich Brooks famously known for trying to convince
- 50:37Speaker 2: Jared to lose some weight because he was just a
- 50:39Speaker 2: freak of an athlete. And yeah, it's a shame that
- 50:43Speaker 2: was your first time on the radio because that was
- 50:45Speaker 2: that was a tough day for a lot of us.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Uh and uh, because you know, Jared was a friend
- 50:51Speaker 2: and I think about Jared often. I think the one
- 50:55Speaker 2: thing I definitely think about he would look at me
- 50:58Speaker 2: today and says, you did it, and talking about losing weight.
- 51:02Speaker 2: He it was funny how he was. And I've said
- 51:04Speaker 2: to this on this radio show Jared and I would
- 51:07Speaker 2: go on walks in Lexington. He would want me to
- 51:10Speaker 2: go walk with him, and he'd tell me story after story,
- 51:12Speaker 2: and he'd be more concerned about my health than he
- 51:16Speaker 2: was about his health. And it's just like in my head,
- 51:19Speaker 2: I'm thinking, Jared, let's let's worry about you. Quit worried
- 51:22Speaker 2: about me. And you know, just just he had the
- 51:26Speaker 2: biggest heart in the world. He always worried about everybody
- 51:29Speaker 2: else but himself. And I loved the guy. I mean,
- 51:33Speaker 2: he would he would definitely have fun with me. He
- 51:35Speaker 2: would definitely make fun of me, and I never had
- 51:39Speaker 2: an issue with that. I just said it was fun
- 51:41Speaker 2: getting to know a guy like him that I had
- 51:46Speaker 2: just a tremendous I mean, I think the greatest play
- 51:49Speaker 2: Corey that I remember of Jared Lorenzen is the day
- 51:53Speaker 2: that UK play Georgia. He's turned around and just flip
- 52:00Speaker 2: the ball backwards and I don't know who it might
- 52:04Speaker 2: have been Derek Avenue that caught the ball and goes
- 52:06Speaker 2: all the way back.
- 52:07Speaker 6: For at least it was Derek Homer. It was who
- 52:11Speaker 6: Derek Homer.
- 52:12Speaker 2: It was okay, and uh it just what an amazing
- 52:16Speaker 2: But he had a sense of where all of his
- 52:18Speaker 2: players were, and he had a sense of h I
- 52:22Speaker 2: am the leader of this team, but he didn't. He
- 52:24Speaker 2: wasn't cocky about it. He just had. I think the
- 52:27Speaker 2: best word to describe Jared is he had a confidence
- 52:32Speaker 2: that was unmatched. And I think he'll go down maybe
- 52:36Speaker 2: not as the greatest quarterback at the UK, but one
- 52:39Speaker 2: of the definite great ones there And just no telling.
- 52:44Speaker 2: If he wasn't as big as he was were his
- 52:48Speaker 2: athleticism could have taken him even further.
- 52:53Speaker 6: That same game with that crazy pass he set the
- 52:55Speaker 6: school record for past archer of the game he had
- 52:58Speaker 6: I think he had for twenty yards a game.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, just amazing. But yeah, I think about Jared,
- 53:07Speaker 2: and I don't think about him every day, but I
- 53:08Speaker 2: do think about him often. And man, it'd be fun
- 53:12Speaker 2: to have him on today talking about how he truly
- 53:15Speaker 2: believes that Astronauts did not go to the move. I
- 53:19Speaker 2: just it would make me laugh.
- 53:22Speaker 6: Probably not his best take, but you know, it's fun.

- 59:20Speaker 6: or since.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Coolidge.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Oh, come on, when Eugene Levy is up there smoking
- 59:29Speaker 2: pot with one of one of the parents, I forget
- 59:33Speaker 2: who it was, and he says it's the fuzz and
- 59:35Speaker 2: jumps out the window. It's probably the funniest scene I've
- 59:38Speaker 2: ever seen. I loved that. I mean, Eugene Levy is hilarious.
- 59:41Speaker 2: I think he's one of the most underrated comedic actors
- 59:45Speaker 2: out there.
- 59:46Speaker 6: His son is also pretty funny as well.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Oh, Daniel Levy Levy, Yeah, Daniel Levy's hilarious. No.
- 59:53Speaker 6: Did your favorite show Poop Creek Poop Creek?
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yep? In fact, I was watching episode Irey watching it again?
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Is is Corey? Is there a series that you like
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: to go back? And rewatch?
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: No, I mean maybe Family Gap. I mean, I don't
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: watch like every episode like of all.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Really, Okay, Justin, is there a series out there that
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: you like that you like to go back and rewatch?
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Not necessarily. Now, I will watch episodes of shows that
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: I've seen in the past and rewatch them that way.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: But no, I never go back. And now I will
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: tell you. And I'm kind of scared to say this
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: because I'm gonna get made fun of, but I need
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: to go back. And I've told myself this for a
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: couple of years now, I need to go back and
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: rewatch the entirety of Desperate Housewives.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Okay, that's absolutely correct. The fact see I can see
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: it now Justin has his glass of wine. It's like,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: wait a minute before I watch, I'm gonna light some candles.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna have a glass of wine. It's probably a
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: rose or a white sharden a and then you're gonna
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: sit in your lazy boy and probably start crying when
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: something bad happens.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Let me, let me back up this story. So the
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: girl I was dating at the time, her parents weren't
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: all that fond of me.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: So I rarely may not be fun, don't.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: I don't know, But I rarely got the opportunity to
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: go over to her house. Well, I figured out we
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: found a loophole. She was a big Desperate Housewives fan,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: and we found who the girl you were dating or
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: the parents are, okay, the girlfriend. So we started doing
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Every Sunday night. I would go over to her house
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: because that was the only time they would let me
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: because Desperate Housewives was on and that was our thing.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: So it's a little nostalgia.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Well that's really okay, all right then, because you missed
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: this girl.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Certain aspects about her.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Yes, okay, you know Corey is dating your girl. Did
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: you know about this? Yeah, Cory stating the girl.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: Lives in one hundred percent false.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: He is he has been dating and driving all the
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: way to Etown to go to the to go see
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: movies with this girl down there. Yeah, exactly, that's what
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I say.
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: Absolutely false. But anyway, moving on. July tenth, nineteen eighty one,
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: the animated film The Fox and the Hound is re listens.
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: I know Michael pregnant see it. It's called what the
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: Fox and the Hound? No, it never said Disney one.
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: It's okay, yes, directed by Ted Berman, Richard rich Richie Rich,
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: I Guess and Art Stevens. It features the voices of
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: Jack Albertson, which was his final film, Might Know Him
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: Best from Willie Wonka, Pearl Bailey, Sandy Duncan, Mickey Rooney,
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: and Kurt Russell.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Oh My Gosh Yeah.
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: The film gross approximately sixty three point five million dollars domestically,
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: making it the fourteenth highest ruction film of nineteen eighty one,
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: and the film was nominated for one Saturn Award but
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: did not win. Last one. July eleventh, twenty thirteen, the
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: comedy drama TV series Orange Is the New Black airs
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: its first episode, We're All Big Orange Is the New
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: Black Fans.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: No No, I never saw a segment of that one either.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: Another great, great one for both of you. Created by
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Jing Kohan. Its stars starred Uzo Aduba, Jason Biggs, Danielle Brooks,
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: Michael Harney, Michelle Hurst, Natasha Leone, Arren Manning, Kate Mulgrew,
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: Laura Preppin, and Taylor Shilling. Show aired total of ninety
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: one episodes over seven seasons on Netflix, and the show
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: was nominated for six Golden Globe Awards, but sadly did
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: not win any.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Did you watch it?
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: I did not, but I do know that it was
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: pretty popular, so I thought i'd share it with the
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: the whole nation, but obviously was not popular with us.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Three.
- 1:04:15Speaker 6: No, yeah, you know. No, uh, share stuff that you
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: know other people like and you might not like. That's fine,
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: kind of like spam.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Yeah that nah. Not a fan. I won't eat it,
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I won't do anything with it. But uh uh, but
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I will go back and watch all right. So, for instance,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I've watched The Office. I bet you I've watched the
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: entirety of the Office. I would say four or five times.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: When I was a kid, I probably saw Saved by
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: by the Bell, probably four or five times.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Yeah, saved by the One.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: I've now gone back and started watching Poop Greek again,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: and I'm getting ready to go back and watch uh uh,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: what is it Righteous Jim Stones Ago, Yeah, which I
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: think is fair because I've been into I didn't I
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: didn't realize Eastbound and Down was a show until I
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: started watching Righteous Jim Stones and that made me go
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: back because I fell in love with Danny McBride. I
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: think he's hilarious.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: He is one of the funniest guys I think currently
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: out there.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Oh, I think he is awesome. So it's it's made
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: me go back and watch Eastbounding Down, and I think
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: that shows have you Have you watched that show?
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: Justin or Corey. I've seen Eastbound Down and I love it.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: There's a scene in the movie this This is the
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: End where Danny mcbresident and every time I have to
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: see it, I am in tears. It's it's crazy.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Will Ferrell's got me in tears. I mean, he is
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: just unbelievable in this show.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: And he's got a new thing on Netflix. I think
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: he plays a golfer, I believe. I think maybe.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been everywhere with the hawk. Is that what
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: it is?
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Yeah, Yeah, that's it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: That's it. Yeah, he's gone out and in the wild
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: and tried to play that role in front of people
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: and promote the show. So I don't know. Is that
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: supposed to be really good?
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: I have not seen yet, so I'm not quite sure.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I haven't either. I'm there's so many shows coming out.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: I still want to watch This Life, Liberty and the
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Reit Pursuit of Unhappiness with Larry David. I'd still like
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: to watch that one, which looks really funny because I
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: was a big curby your enthusiasm fan.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: I've not heard about it, but if it involves him,
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: I'm sure it's it's pretty good.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think it's on HBO. But anyway, all right, Corey, Uh,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: you got any big plans coming up in the near future?
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: It's kind of near.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: The TBT is in what, uh a week and a half? Yeah,
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: I believe exactly, So I'm I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: That's anything else really?
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Okay? Good?
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Then? Well, I appreciate you coming on a day late,
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: but it was fun talking to you today. And we'll
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: see you next week. How's that sound? Will you be
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: here next week? I'll be in Tampa, Florida, So sorry
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: about that. So yeah, I'll be there week after next. Okay,
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: just it'll be okay. You get sit in a big
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: chair when I'm gone. How's that feel?
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: It feels okay?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Right? Okay? Good? All right? Then? Well we got to
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: go Cauz here come the lawn more so anyway, we'll
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: let you go, Corey. I always appreciate you coming on
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: for a few minutes, and I love that it's our anniversary.

- 1:07:43Speaker 2: Anyway. We're gonna take a break. Five O two three
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: eight four fourteen fifty five two four one fourteen fifty
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: if if you want to help us fix the radio station,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: come on by. Let's let's have a little help fixing this.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Who knows? Say right there? More of scrabbly Michael Bennett
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: on the radio. We'll see you a minute.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I'm the man and Saila Sam searching everyone.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: All the bad, all the run bad, all the run,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: the bad run. It's interesting you play this song right here,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: because that's another iconic video from the mp TV days,
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Money for Nothing by dire Straits because or or or
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: what was the other song that they had me, you're
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: not doing it. I can't think of it. I can't
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: think of it. I know there's somebody out there that
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: knows that song. No, it's not Sultan's of Swing.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Walk for Life for Walk of Life.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Walk of Life, that's it. Walk of Life was another
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: one that was iconic, definitely.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: In fact, uh, you know cal Macy. When I first
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: started doing this show back in two thousand and seventeen,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: cal Macy was co host with me for what five months,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: four months, whatever it was, it doesn't matter. And he
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: always told me he was in that video, and I
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: didn't realize, and I've never gone back to watch it.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: So I've got to go back watch it and see
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: evidently when he was playing for the Suns I think
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: it was, and he he said he was always in
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: that video, which I always loved that one. That one's
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: one of those videos that always make me happy. Do
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: I still stand bad?
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay, Well I appreciate you'all trying to fix it,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: but uh yeah, it just I'm sorry everybody out there.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Michael John here, out of all the teams you like
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: in sports, which team do you think will bring the
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: most happiness and be the most successful this year? I
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: believe my Yankees could win the World Series and my
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Chiefs reloaded and are ready to go. However, I have
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: a special feeling about Coach Pope and the basketball Cats.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: So what do you think? You all? What? So? What
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: what do you all think for your teams? I think
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: that's a great question of all. All right, So my
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: favorite teams obviously UK basketball, UK football, UK. Of my
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: professional teams, I'm I'm a die hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Cincinnati Bengals. Fan of baseball. I'm a die hard Tampa
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Bay Rays in Tampa Bay Lightning and Cincinnati Reds. Not
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: so much an NBA. I'm more of a Celtics fan
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: than I am of any other team. I grew up
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: a Celtics fan. Who do I think because you you
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: justin you're a Bengals fan. No godding, I'm just kidding.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: You're a Steelers fan, You're a Reds fan. You're a
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: who's your fan? Basketball and football? Who am I missing?
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: That's why my answer is easy. It's going to be football.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: But were you always a Indiana football fan more than
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: basketball or was it even or were you more of
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: a basketball fan?
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Always always been more basketball?
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Okay, so now has that reverted to more of a
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: football fan at I? You are you still more of
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: an IU basketball fan?
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: You're asking me to get deep.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: I don't really know. I don't. I don't know that
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: I've assessed my brain in that way because.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: I've always it depends what era.
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: I mean.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: My favorite basketball years at UK were Rick Patino when
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: he was a head coach. That was Those were my
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: favorite teams when Rick Patino was head coach at UK. Sure,
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I liked Eddie Sutton, I loved Coach Hall, but Tubby Smith.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: I thought those were fun coach teams, a little more
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: boring of a offense, but they were still fun teams
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: to follow. Now, as far as football, yes, I don't
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: remember Fan Cursey, maybe a little bit Jerry Claybury and
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I was a big fan of. But my formidable years
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: were how Mommy and Rich Brooks, and I was a
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: huge UK football fan. But today, I mean, I just
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: I kind of go back and forth. I mean, I'm
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: probably pretty even when it comes to basketball and football,
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: and I don't really know which one I root more for.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Now do I think? I Listen, John, I love the
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: fact that you're so positive about Mark Pope and the
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: basketball team. I'm just I guess I'm being protective of myself.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: I'm not there yet. I've got to see this team
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: play for probably a month or so. It might not
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: be till January too I figure out if this is
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: going to be a good team or not, And it
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: might be later than that.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: You'll figure it out quicker than that.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: I don't know. You know, there's been years where the
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: team looked great in the outside the conference, and then
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: they started they playing in conference as like, oh boy,
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: what happen to this team? I don't know. And I
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: think the tougher part of the year is going to
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: be in conference play because the SEC has improved so
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: drastically much over the past few years. I feel like
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: that's going to be the really defining moments UK basketball
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: this upcoming season.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: But is not. But isn't that The good thing about
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: being Kentucky is the fact that you more years than
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: not have a pretty loaded non conference schedule with a
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: bunch of top twenty five teams, and you get an
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: opportunity to see how you stack up against those teams.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: So absolutely you have an advantage where you don't have
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: to wait till SEC play. I get you wanting, yeah,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: but you don't have to.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: But I don't think the non conference schedule this year
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: is that great. I think it's okay. I would probably
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: give the non conference schedule this year for UKOC That's
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: how I would grade it. Now, going back to your question,
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: so you're Hoosiers right now, I'm probably more of a
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: Tampa Bay ray fan, just because we're in season right
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: now and they're playing so well and that's what's so
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: fun about the Reds and the Rays because of the
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: fact that they're not one of those teams that spends
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: a lot of money on the roster. The Rays are
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: one of the lowest in MLB, and here they are
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: one of the I think they have the best record
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: in the American League. If I remember Craig, and this
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: is going from memory, I believe they have the second
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: best record in all of MLB, whereas the Dodgers are
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: the best record in MLB. So right now, man it sure.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: I know I'm trying to keep myself from getting too
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: excited with football, but I love what will Stein is doing.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I mean, we haven't seen this kind of recruiting in
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: a while, and this kind of excitement for UK football
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: in a little bit. But then I'm reminded of the schedule,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: and I think that's what's gonna be so difficult. So
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: I need to be patient with UK football basketball. I
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: could be careful because I put my entire heart in
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: that team last year only to see more injuries in
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: a team that just didn't turn out the way it
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: should have and a season that didn't turn out the
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: way it should have. So I probably I know This
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: is a long way to answer your question, but justin
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: I'm probably sticking with with Tampa Bay Rays because I
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: have no faith in Baker Mayfield. People lose it when
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: I say that, I'm not a Baker Mayfield fan. And
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: that's the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: I'm probably more apt to say the Bengals are going
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: to have a great year. So I'm probably between the
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: Bengals and the Tampa Bay Rays, and I man, I'm
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: probably gonna flip. I'm probably gonna say the Bengals.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Bengals are as someone coming from someone who's a Steelers fan, Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: I am scared to death of the city, are you.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Because they They've always been good offensively under Joe Burrow,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: so I don't I don't think that's gonna be an
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: issue for them moving forward. But what they did this
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: offseason and reshaping that defense, they got it. They went
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: out and got a lot of defensive guys. So I
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: think the Bengals have an opportunity to be really, really scary.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: And see that's where I think Joe Burrow has really
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: shown his true colors as a leader, and he's come
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: out as a leader not just for the offense, but
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: for this entire team because he's been very outspoken against
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: about management and ownership to go out, listen, either you're
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: gonna spend money on this team or I'm out of here.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: And I love the fact that he said that he
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: wants to play for the Bengals and he wants to
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: play for a successful Bengals team. And the way he's
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: gone about this has been perfect for the fan base.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: And I have a new found even higher respect for
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Joe Burrow because I know the kids talented. I know
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: he is a great quarterback and has the potential to
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: be even better quarterback. And they he's not only reshaped
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: this offense, but they have because that was my biggest concern.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: What you said was are they going to rebuild a
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: or build a defense because they've had no defense. They
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: had to rely on scoring more points because they knew
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: the defense was going to allow so many points on
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: the Bengals. So now that they have gotten what I
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: think is a really good defense on top of having
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: a really good offense, I'm with you justin I think
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: this is going to be a scary good Bengals team.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Then I'm scared to admit, because as soon as I
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: admit it, then guess what, it blows up in my face.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: At least it should be a good Bengals team, right,
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: but we we know what happens to Cincinnati's.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, don't get to it, you're right, well, no, no, no,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna be hopeful. I want to be hopeful. I'm
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: gonna let it all out there. So I'm probably Bengals
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: raised after that, because I know what's gonna happen to
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: the Rays. They're gonna get into the playoffs. They might
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: win the first series in the playoffs, and then they're
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: gonna lose, So they'll lose to the Yankees. They'll lose
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: to somebody else out there. Uh. Even if they made
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: it to the World Series, they're not going to beat
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: the Dodgers. The Dodgers are just gonna run away with
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: it again this year. They're just crazy good. Yo, Shohani
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: just had another record last night, hit another home run.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: Showy whatever, stop laughing at me. You know what his
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: freaking name is? I did, I did, didn't I I
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: know it would have her, but uh, but he's a
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: future Hall of Famer, isn't he? No question, no question
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: about how do you say his name? Oh, Tani? That's it? Show, honey.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: I like Shohani. I think that's a great nickname. What
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: is wrong with that?
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: But it's fun that you know here, I've I've watched
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: a kid grow up who is actually the catcher for
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Otan whatever his name Shohani, But that's kind of cool
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: to watch. I'm gonna say I'm going to text Will's
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: dad after the show and say he needs Will needs
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: to camp Shohani. Uh. But anyway, all right, we gotta
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: take another break. We'll get back to your text messages,
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: and hopefully tomorrow we'll have a better microphone. But anyway,
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: it's okay. I appreciate y'all are working on it. So anyways,
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: stare right there. One more segment of Justsicat's coming right up.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: Let me tell you.
- 1:20:00Speaker 7: All right our last segment, one person said on the
- 1:20:30Speaker 7: Whiskey Thief text line, the music has static, so it's
- 1:20:32Speaker 7: not Michael's fault.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: I'm shocked. Not Michael's fault, thank you very much. The
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: Office is rewatchable. Did you ever watch The Office at all? No?
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: And now I'm at the point where I'm so far
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: behind with all this that I don't want to make
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: the effort to go go watch them all.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: Really see my my youngest son is like, now I
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: understand a lot of the humor that you were a
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: laughing at because he's grown older. Now he understands the
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: humor more.
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: Maybe I'll go.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Arrested Development is as well. I never watched Arrested Developed.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: I know that was wildly successful, just like what was
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: the other one? Orange is a New Black. I know
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: that was wildly successful. There's a few out there. It's
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: just like, for one reason or another, I just never
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: got into it. Like Seinfeld. People go nuts when I
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: say I never watched a single episode of Seinfeld. I
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: just I never thought Jerry side love me. He just
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: he just always came across as a jerk to me.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: I just I don't know. I just wasn't interested. So
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: I never watched the Friends. Did you watch Friends? I
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: never watched that one. Scoot, you should go and watch
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: Why Women Kill? If you like Desperate Housewives? Is that
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: a show?
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: I'll check it out.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Is this supposed to be a real show, I mean,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: like a a real life interesting I've ever heard of that.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: Honestly, I don't know if I would like Desperate Housewives anymore.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: I just remember liking it at the time, So that's
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: why I've wanted to go back and watch it see
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: if it still hits the same.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Really, Yeah, I mean I would say the only animated
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: show that I watched that I absolutely loved with SpongeBob,
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: and I know you hate that one. I thought SpongeBob
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: was unbelievably funny. Yeah, exactly, thank you very much. Did
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: you see where Ringo star turned eighty six yesterday?
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: I did see that.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: Eighty six freaking years old, and that guy's out there
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: acting like he's in the sixties. Are better yet in
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: his fifties. He doesn't look eighty six years old. He no, no,
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: So that to me, drugs are good for you. I'm
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: just kidding.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: You heard it first, all right.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: We didn't talk about it yesterday because I wasn't on.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: But how disappointed were you about a Team USA losing?
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Night before last?
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: Say it again. I'm sorry I was reading it to engineer.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: How disappointed were you about Team USA losing?
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: I forgot you were off yesterday. Yeah, I don't really
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: want to talk about it. I mean, it was it
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: was embarrassing. It was just such a huge embarrassment for
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: so many people that were probably locked into one of
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: their first ever soccer games that they've watched, and that's
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: the performance we put out. It was just.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: All right, Well, we won't talk about it. Then. Do
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: you think people stay and continue to watch the World Cup?
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: Since Team USA is out?
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: Soccer fanatics will like me, Yes, I agree me personally,
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: I will watch the rest of the World Cup, no
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: question about it. The normal fan or even people like
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: you that don't like soccer, no, they'll check completely out.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I haven't watched. I just kind of I see
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: a little bit of the highlights. That's it. But I
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: have seen the highlights of the Egyptian coach and the
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: team and what they've been doing. Well, is he okay?
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: By the way? I mean, I saw the video surface
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: where the Egyptian soccer team in their game preparation. Did
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: you see that?
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: No? I don't guess that's all that.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they used a technique where the secret to victory
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: was cursing Christians and Jews. And I'm not trying to
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: be funny. I saw that and I thought that's that's odd,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: and especially coming to a different country, and that's the
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: way you're going to act in a country that has
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: all kinds of Christians and Jews, we have all kinds
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: of everything, and to see them doing something like that
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: and calling the rigid religions infidels and encouraging Allah's wrath,
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: I mean, I thought that was strange. And then the
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: whole interaction he had with I. Like I said on
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: your show, I don't know much about Messy, but anytime
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: I see anything about him, he seems like the most genuine,
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: down to earth person out there. And yet around the world.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Is he one of the most well known athletes around
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: the world. I think about who some of the most
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: well known athletes aren't there. I don't know if there's
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: a football player out there that is well known around
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: the world. Is there a football player I saw a
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: video not too long ago of Michael Jordan, who I
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: think is probably the most iconic basketball player ever, one
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: of them, if not one. Him in Italy exactly just
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: walking around and nobody's talking to him. Yet if he
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: was in New York City or you know, anywhere in
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: the United States, people would most likely be swarming him
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: talking to him, but nobody knew who he was in
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: in Italy. Is there a baseball player around the world
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: that is known. I don't think there is is.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: There is.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: Who is it we were just talking about. So you
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: think it's uh Otani? Oh yeah, No, you think if somebody,
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: if he's walking around the streets of Germany, you think
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: somebody's gonna come up to him and talk to him?
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: No question?
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Do you really? Okay? I then I take you back.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: I just I don't feel like there is.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: There's not that many. I mean, like you mentioned Messi,
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: Otani is definitely one of those guys. Tiger Woods, I
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: would say, is probably a really good one. Yes, I
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: might even throw like a Lebron in there. But then again,
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: you bring up the situation with Jordan where nobody bothered
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: him in Italy, so maybe not.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: I think I think Tiger Woods is a really good one.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Is there a tennis player out there? You think if
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: who's the uh Federer? I think Federer would be a
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: good one. The young lady just got oh what's her name,
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: she's got the sisters and she just got eliminated in
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: the in the UH Wimbledon. Yes, you think the Williams Serena,
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: you think she would be No. See, I think Serena
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: would be known around the world.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: Nae really Okay, the rest of the world gets into
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: See that's.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: What I think about football and uh in baseball and
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: basketball for that fact, I think I think if if
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Michael Jordan was walking around in Asia, there'd be people
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: that would know him because NBA is popular in Asia.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: There's popularity in baseball in Asia. But as far as Europe,
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: they don't much care about football, baseball, or basketball. It's soccer,
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: and I bet they would know some of the American
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: players before they would know any of the basketball, football,
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: or baseball players. I maybe maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: One person, Corey, drives to eat Town to take her
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: to Otown. WHOA what is Otown? I don't know. I
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: don't know if we need to repeat, repeat more.
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: We're not going to be explaining that on this morning show.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Okay, good, let's just leave it at that. I don't
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: know if you are big into this, but I thought
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: this was amazing. I saw a video of John bon Jovi,
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: who is doing a nine day and nine night stint
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: at Madison Square Gardens. He had a concert I think
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: that was his first one, and people are posting a
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: lot of his songs that he was singing before. You know,
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: he sounded really bad. He had throat surgery four years ago.
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: They said, I thought he sounded really good. Now, clearly
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: he can't make the high notes anymore, but I thought
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: he sounded pretty good. So congratulations John bon Jovi. If
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: he comes to Louisville, I'd like to see him. So
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: UK basketball, women's basketball and Kenny coach Kenny Brooks had
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: a media conference yesterday. They had two players that came
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: with coach Brooks, one being Asia Boone and the other
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: being Claria Strack, And they were asked about fifth season,
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: the whole five and five rule, and they said, listen,
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: if the opportunity comes up, they would be open to
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: the opportunity of coming back and playing at the UK
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: for a fifth season.
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Clara Strack, she's already on before the season starts, already
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: on some of the big boards for the NBA draft.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: I yeah, she should be. So if she has the
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: normal season that we think she'll she'll be one of
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: the lottery picks for the NBA draft next year. So
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: it's probably no chance of her coming back. Asia Boone's
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: not on any draft board right now, so there could
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: be a shot would you like seeing Asia Boone coming
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: back to the UK to play another season?
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: I mean, any consistency that Kenny Brooks can get I'm
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: all for. You know how I'll feel about that man.
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: By the way, when I was out that video of
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: the recruit committing to him in the gym, did you
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: see that? Yeah, he like whispered something in his ear
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: and he just like almost fell back. I thought that,
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: we'll see, there's your bromance again. We're gonna have Kenny
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: Brooks on next few weeks. If you want to do that.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: I know you do, so anyway, I should listen. I
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: should just let you do the entire interview, not me,
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: and let you talk to Kenny.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: Wow. Well, we'll see, we'll talk about out. I know
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: that's okay. We might not do that. But did you
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: like the commissioner of the Big Twelve and the questions
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: he was taking about Soresby? Did you see that this
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: is not the time or place to take these questions.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: It's like it was it was Wait a minute, it
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: was literally media days for football at the Big Twelve conference.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: When is the time to ask those questions?
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: All thing's over, Like we're done here, there's no need
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: to keep dragging it out.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: But this was the first time they were able to
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: get together with the commissioner and literally ask these questions.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: You don't like it, No, I did, And the fact
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: that he did not want to answer the question, I
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: thought was kind of you know, well, you know how
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: I always feel about that. All right, hopefully we'll get
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: the mic fixed tomorrow, but in the meantime, we got
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: to deal with it this way. All right, everybody, good
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: to be back. I'll see you tomorrow. I have a
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: great day.
