- 0:00Speaker 1: And the cracking power play Lord.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the Kraking Postgame Show, brought to you by
- 0:06Speaker 2: Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
- 0:09Speaker 2: your Kraken hockey. It's the post game on the Global
- 0:13Speaker 2: Credit Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Five one Kraken win, two goals to assist for Jared
- 0:20Speaker 3: mccam hear this evening. It was a two point night
- 0:24Speaker 3: for Maddy Beniers, a goal and an assist. Philip Grubauer
- 0:27Speaker 3: turning aside nineteen of the twenty shots he faced as
- 0:30Speaker 3: well partner Al Koniski.
- 0:32Speaker 4: What a night tonight for CM. Yeah, statement win for
- 0:34Speaker 4: Seattle tonight. Five to one was the final score, but
- 0:38Speaker 4: it was close to being seven to one.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yeah, don't erase the goals I erased.
- 0:42Speaker 4: But you know, even when you when you have goals
- 0:46Speaker 4: taken back like that, it feels like.
- 0:48Speaker 5: You could have scored him, You should have scored them.
- 0:50Speaker 4: So they're not going to count in the scorebook, but
- 0:53Speaker 4: certainly from a momentum standpoint, from a confidence standpoint, they
- 0:57Speaker 4: do count and that'll carry over the next game for sure.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Kind of mad.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I had my touchdown kracking ready to go when they
- 1:03Speaker 3: scored their seventh goal. Jared mccannon. We talked to him
- 1:06Speaker 3: after the second period. I mean he was feeling himself
- 1:10Speaker 3: in that second period. Should have had the hat trick
- 1:12Speaker 3: here tonight.
- 1:12Speaker 1: They called it.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Back off of Matty Beaneer's missed double minor for a
- 1:18Speaker 3: high stick, and then Alvkin scored on that power play.
- 1:22Speaker 3: The only red on my sheet on the scoring summary
- 1:25Speaker 3: side for the Capitols here tonight was that Alvechkin goal.
- 1:27Speaker 4: But what a night for Jared mccannon. Yeah, I mean
- 1:29Speaker 4: he was in the right place at the right time.
- 1:31Speaker 4: You like seeing guys score in different ways. Those first
- 1:34Speaker 4: two goals, the first one was a snipe on the
- 1:36Speaker 4: power play, the second one was a rebound goal off
- 1:40Speaker 4: of the Matti Beneir shot, and had the third one counted,
- 1:43Speaker 4: it would have been a breakaway. So three different ways
- 1:45Speaker 4: of scoring, but only two of them are going to count.
- 1:47Speaker 3: We had this conversation the other night about the Kraken
- 1:51Speaker 3: and their third line out of the fourth line rather
- 1:54Speaker 3: how well they've been playing recently, Laine Lambert challenging the
- 1:57Speaker 3: other three lines to step it up in a big way.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Will here tonight you get four points from mccam you
- 2:02Speaker 3: get two points from every league, two points from Matt
- 2:05Speaker 3: Evaneer's as well.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Once again, I felt like your.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Best players needed to be your best players than they
- 2:11Speaker 3: were tonight.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they absolutely were.
- 2:13Speaker 4: And you know, one of the areas that that the
- 2:15Speaker 4: Kraken kind of go back and forth on our face offs,
- 2:18Speaker 4: and tonight they were excellent. Matt Evaneer's sixty two point
- 2:21Speaker 4: five percent, Shane Wright sixty percent. Even Jayden Schwartz got
- 2:25Speaker 4: in there for a few at sixty percent. So winning
- 2:28Speaker 4: pucks off draws is a huge part of not just
- 2:30Speaker 4: getting but to maintaining momentum and the crackling over there
- 2:33Speaker 4: tonight doing that.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It was a very physical game here tonight as well.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Washington takes the hit battle seventeen to fifteen, but Jacob
- 2:40Speaker 3: Mallonson once again another stellar knight from that department. Malonson
- 2:46Speaker 3: leaving today's game with doesn't quite can't see him. He
- 2:49Speaker 3: hits his I think's at over five seven hits seven
- 2:51Speaker 3: in the seven in the game, which is now the
- 2:54Speaker 3: tenth time already this season that he's gotten five or
- 2:57Speaker 3: more hits.
- 2:58Speaker 4: But the physicality for Seattle picked up as well. Yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 4: and it's you know Monson's a funny guy. Because we
- 3:03Speaker 4: saw Ryan Lingran throw a big, body crushing hit last
- 3:06Speaker 4: game that you know.
- 3:08Speaker 1: The crowd erupted on.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Lonson throws maybe one or two of those a game,
- 3:12Speaker 4: but he's not looking for those big, open ized hits.
- 3:15Speaker 4: He wants that's the hard work along the boards, the
- 3:18Speaker 4: four chicken hits where you throw one in the corner
- 3:20Speaker 4: trying to separate a d man from the puck. But
- 3:22Speaker 4: it's every single shift, and I think that he's very
- 3:25Speaker 4: intentional about it, that he wants to wants that to
- 3:28Speaker 4: be a big part of his game.
- 3:29Speaker 3: We'll step out one more time, come back with Philip
- 3:32Speaker 3: Goobau after this five one Crack and when on the
- 3:36Speaker 3: Global Credit Union Crack an Audio Network, This as ever

- 5:09Speaker 8: ESPN presents the NHL Stadium Series in a most unexpected place,
- 5:14Speaker 8: a hockey takeover of Tampa Porda and Raymond James Stadium,
- 5:19Speaker 8: where the Boston Bruins collide with the Tampa.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Bay Like Jada Contre.
- 5:25Speaker 8: Two teams take their shot at a one of a
- 5:27Speaker 8: kind game. The twenty twenty six Navy Federal Credit Union
- 5:31Speaker 8: NHL Stadium Series Bruin Like Sunday at six thirty Eastern
- 5:36Speaker 8: on ESPN and the ESPN.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Ap for the final time Tonight, Welcome back inside of
- 5:55Speaker 3: Climate Plage Arena alongside Al Kaniski. Ever fits you with you,
- 6:00Speaker 3: await the arrival of Philip Grubauerkracken picking up a five
- 6:04Speaker 3: to one win over the Washington Capitols here tonight two goals,
- 6:08Speaker 3: two assists for Jared McCann, a goal and an assist
- 6:11Speaker 3: for both Jordan Everly and Matty beniir So. Now the
- 6:15Speaker 3: Kraken three and two on this six game home stand.
- 6:18Speaker 3: They've won three of their last four games. A big
- 6:21Speaker 3: meeting with the Maple Leafs coming up here in two
- 6:23Speaker 3: days time on Thursday, Toronto. Very similarly like the Washington Capitals.
- 6:28Speaker 3: They currently are now eight points back of the cut
- 6:31Speaker 3: line and the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference. So
- 6:34Speaker 3: another desperate team coming into Seattle here on Thursday to
- 6:39Speaker 3: wrap up the home portion of the pre Olympic schedule.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Well, let's just your last home game until way late
- 6:47Speaker 4: in the month of February. So you know, why not
- 6:49Speaker 4: go out big, goal large and have a good game
- 6:52Speaker 4: against the Leafs when they come in here, because you
- 6:54Speaker 4: carry that momentum out on the road for three tough
- 6:57Speaker 4: divisional games which you want to do well and as well.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Looking at the standings right now, Seattle at fifty seven
- 7:03Speaker 3: points after the win here today, so they are now
- 7:05Speaker 3: in a three way time for fourth place in the
- 7:09Speaker 3: Pacific Division. San Jose, La and Seattle all with fifty
- 7:13Speaker 3: seven points, also in a three way tie for the
- 7:16Speaker 3: second and final wildcard, now the Kraken.
- 7:19Speaker 1: After this game on Thursday, they go on the road.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Big meeting in Vegas coming up on Saturday, night, and
- 7:24Speaker 3: then they'll wrap up their schedule with a back to
- 7:26Speaker 3: back Anaheim on Tuesday, LA on Wednesday. I mean four
- 7:31Speaker 3: games coming up for Seattle. You're looking minimally three wins,
- 7:34Speaker 3: and all three of those wins better be in division.
- 7:36Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 4: No, you want to get to points in all of them.
- 7:38Speaker 4: And obviously wins in regulation matter a lot more than
- 7:43Speaker 4: points in overtime because you've got teams above you, below
- 7:46Speaker 4: you that you're trying to either chase down or keep
- 7:49Speaker 4: below you. So big important games coming.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Up, Why don't we wait for Philip Grubauer. Al, let's
- 7:55Speaker 3: go over to your key takeaways in your three Stars.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Well, key takeaways from me brought to you by Mamakay
- 8:00Speaker 4: Jared mccannon. Big night for him, contributing about on all
- 8:04Speaker 4: but one of the goals. Love the work that nineteen
- 8:07Speaker 4: did tonight. Grubauer, who we're going to speak to you
- 8:09Speaker 4: here momentarily stopping nineteen of twenty, finished with a nine
- 8:13Speaker 4: five oh save percentage. That was his twenty first start tonight, which,
- 8:17Speaker 4: if my math is correct, about forty one percent of
- 8:20Speaker 4: the game so far, so good flow for him. Jacob
- 8:23Speaker 4: Allanson with five hits tonight, just in the first period
- 8:26Speaker 4: alone ended the game with seven and I think that's
- 8:29Speaker 4: something you see often. Once you're in that closeout mode,
- 8:31Speaker 4: you don't need to necessarily play that big, physical game.
- 8:34Speaker 4: So he's doing a good job there adjusting to that
- 8:37Speaker 4: NHL style and overall just goaltending in general. Last two
- 8:40Speaker 4: games to a couple of big wins. Joey deccord last
- 8:43Speaker 4: game with the third star having a big game in
- 8:45Speaker 4: this game here tonight Philip Grubauer with a big game
- 8:50Speaker 4: as well. Three stars brought to you by Triple A
- 8:53Speaker 4: of Washington. Your third Star tonight tonight goes to Philip
- 8:56Speaker 4: Grubauer again stopping nineteen of twenty with a nine to
- 8:59Speaker 4: five save percent. Second star goes to Matty Veneers. He
- 9:02Speaker 4: had a goal and assists. He was plus three on
- 9:03Speaker 4: the night, had three shots on goal as well. And
- 9:06Speaker 4: your first star gos to Jared mccannn two goals, two
- 9:09Speaker 4: assists plus three four shots on goals. Cracking fans, if
- 9:13Speaker 4: you don't have Triple A, what are you doing? You

- 9:30Speaker 3: or right here on the Kraken Audio Network for your
- 9:33Speaker 3: chance to win a pair of tickets to a future
- 9:36Speaker 3: home Seattle Cracking game.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Tonight's game on keyword is oh, hold on. That was
- 9:42Speaker 1: the wrong word. I was about to read. The other word.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Tonight's is olympia O L y M p ia.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Go to Seattlecracking dot com slash game on to enter
- 9:52Speaker 3: this word for a chance to win a pair of
- 9:54Speaker 3: tickets coming up to a future Cracking home game. Well,
- 9:57Speaker 3: now that we have effectively done our dance and our
- 10:01Speaker 3: shuffle to the locker room, we go. Philip Grubauer standing
- 10:04Speaker 3: by following a nineteen say performance, fell glad to have
- 10:08Speaker 3: you on the first time this year.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It was a wild.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Game, I think at both ends of the ice. For
- 10:13Speaker 3: you standing back there in goal break down, this one
- 10:16Speaker 3: from your perspective.
- 10:17Speaker 10: Yeah, I think an amazing game, huge win. Guys really
- 10:22Speaker 10: really replayed the right way. So that was two big
- 10:26Speaker 10: points against a good team.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Philip, you know this game was up and down, certainly
- 10:32Speaker 4: in the first and second period alone with your role
- 10:34Speaker 4: in net, Obviously your job is to keep pucks outher
- 10:37Speaker 4: the net, but what can you do to affect the
- 10:39Speaker 4: pace of the play just in terms of trying to
- 10:42Speaker 4: even things out or do you like that style of hockey?
- 10:44Speaker 10: Yeah, they got a little quick and interesting there in
- 10:47Speaker 10: the last period, but we did a great job. That
- 10:50Speaker 10: was kind of like a little bit of a playoff
- 10:52Speaker 10: hockey there to the last like fifteen to ten minutes there.
- 10:55Speaker 10: But even in the first period, I think they only
- 10:57Speaker 10: had like four or five shots, and out of the
- 10:59Speaker 10: fours five shots, felt like they had five scoring chances.
- 11:02Speaker 10: So there was no fluff today. Usually I want to
- 11:04Speaker 10: soak in every puck they get shot on me to
- 11:08Speaker 10: make sure we get a whistle and be smart, especially
- 11:11Speaker 10: with the game plan we have in the schedule, so
- 11:15Speaker 10: to make sure teams are not like getting too fast,
- 11:19Speaker 10: and obviously homemice advantage is a huge part.
- 11:21Speaker 3: You know, all season long, you yourself have been in the
- 11:24Speaker 3: top third and amongst league goaltenders in say percentage and
- 11:27Speaker 3: goals against.
- 11:27Speaker 1: How do you like, What do you like about your
- 11:30Speaker 1: game right now?
- 11:30Speaker 3: What are you feeling? How are you feeling going into
- 11:33Speaker 3: now the second half? Of the season. Given you know
- 11:35Speaker 3: all the things that we've seen the last couple of years.
- 11:38Speaker 3: You where do you like your game today?
- 11:40Speaker 10: Yeah, there's always room for improvement. We played amazing. I
- 11:44Speaker 10: think that's what it makes it so easy for us
- 11:46Speaker 10: schoolies back there. It allows us to play certain ways
- 11:49Speaker 10: and it's always everybody back. Today was a little bit different,
- 11:54Speaker 10: different game, different pace, but like we do a great
- 11:57Speaker 10: job of eliminating chances and keeping teams to the outside.
- 12:01Speaker 10: I think they had a lot of speed, Like through
- 12:02Speaker 10: the middle. They were always chumping turnover there, and a
- 12:06Speaker 10: couple turnovers there, and in the offensive zone and all
- 12:09Speaker 10: of a sudden you got three or four guys coming
- 12:11Speaker 10: at you. So we did a great job.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Phil.
- 12:13Speaker 4: When you play against the team that you spent six
- 12:15Speaker 4: seasons with, is there a little extra juice in your
- 12:18Speaker 4: game that I'm not saying isn't there for other games?
- 12:21Speaker 4: But you want to win just a little bit more, No, you.
- 12:24Speaker 10: Want to win the same. I don't think there's too
- 12:25Speaker 10: many guys left. It's only OLV Carley and really so
- 12:29Speaker 10: it's a whole whole new team.
- 12:30Speaker 9: I don't I don't even know.
- 12:32Speaker 10: Half the guys there. But no, for sure like, it's
- 12:34Speaker 10: always feels good to win against the old team and
- 12:37Speaker 10: big points for us.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Last one here for me, partner.
- 12:40Speaker 3: You're about to go off to Italy and represent your
- 12:43Speaker 3: team Germany, your country Germany in the Olympics. What is
- 12:46Speaker 3: this experience like for you to represent your country on
- 12:50Speaker 3: the international stage, to play for a metal.
- 12:53Speaker 10: Yeah, obviously, huge, huge honor to represent Germany on that stage.
- 12:58Speaker 10: As a kid growing up, we always watch the Olympics.
- 13:02Speaker 10: You got the best players in the world from every
- 13:05Speaker 10: nation joining us, So it's gonna be a hell of
- 13:08Speaker 10: a fast paced game, even on small ice, and it's
- 13:12Speaker 10: gonna make it interesting. But yeah, this game today, five
- 13:17Speaker 10: games and nine days. We gotta make it through those
- 13:20Speaker 10: games first, then get to Milano healthy and then we'll
- 13:24Speaker 10: we go from there.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Well, hey man, thanks for the time. Congrats on a
- 13:27Speaker 3: massive win tonight. Ten ten no notes from this one
- 13:30Speaker 3: up here. Best to let the rest of the way.
- 13:31Speaker 3: We'll talk to you down the road. Ye, thank you
- 13:33Speaker 3: for cracking. Goaltender Philip Grubauer following a nineteen save performance
- 13:37Speaker 3: here over his former team, the Capitols.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I think there's a little bit more. Maybe maybe you
- 13:44Speaker 1: don't want to win more. Maybe you appreciate more.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Now I'll do it from up here, we go over
- 13:51Speaker 3: across the street. Mike Benton standing by at Tom's Washbar
- 13:55Speaker 3: to break down a wild five to one crack and win.

- 14:01Speaker 11: Yours, guys. The chaos is finally slowing down. It feels
- 14:04Speaker 11: like here. From this one is on Brandon mon Tour

- 14:25Speaker 11: to four to two and two now since New Year's

- 19:04Speaker 11: and the Crack of Now three and two on this
- 19:06Speaker 11: homestand improving to twenty four nineteen and nine point total
- 19:11Speaker 11: alf fifty seven and the Capitals falling to twenty five
- 19:14Speaker 11: twenty two and seven. They're point total at fifty seven
- 19:19Speaker 11: points on the campaign. With that time now for a
- 19:23Speaker 11: look at the highlights in this Seattle Crack and drive
- 19:24Speaker 11: to the net scoring recap is brought to you by
- 19:27Speaker 11: Chevy Silverado. Bring on the toughs up because with nine
- 19:30Speaker 11: trims and four available engines, Chevy Silverado, who is ready
- 19:34Speaker 11: to accept all challenges? Chevy Silverado your own personal power play.
- 19:40Speaker 11: The Crakens so close in period one, but both teams
- 19:43Speaker 11: exchanging greade eight looks, eventually ending the first twenty minutes
- 19:47Speaker 11: in a nothing nothing tied despite the Crack and now
- 19:49Speaker 11: shooting Washington thirteen to four in the opening frame. After that,
- 19:54Speaker 11: the Krack and carrying over power play time into period
- 19:57Speaker 11: two and who steps forward here looking for the game's
- 20:01Speaker 11: first goal.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Here's everly near corner, Jordan Beverley to mccadd.
- 20:05Speaker 15: One time stop, yes Hee mcadd on the power play.
- 20:17Speaker 15: Jared mccadd from the right circle heads the Seattle crackt
- 20:22Speaker 15: a one.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Nothing lead one fifteen into the second.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Well, it's evererly down the right corner to Thompson's right,
- 20:29Speaker 4: who slowly comes up the circle finds Jere McCann on
- 20:32Speaker 4: his off wing, topless circles of their side. It's a
- 20:35Speaker 4: quick one timer cloves side. That's the right side on Thompson.
- 20:40Speaker 4: One nothing tracking time.
- 20:42Speaker 14: Now.
- 20:43Speaker 11: The power play is certainly cooking right now, as they'd
- 20:45Speaker 11: get goals in eleven or fourteen games since New Year's
- 20:48Speaker 11: Day and Jere McCann stepping forward while stepping into a
- 20:52Speaker 11: one timer, Jordan Everley and Chandler Stevenson setting his thirteen
- 20:56Speaker 11: goal the season up at one fifteen and just what
- 20:59Speaker 11: the crack is an early goal to begin more momentum
- 21:02Speaker 11: with a one nothing lead. And then after that it
- 21:05Speaker 11: was McCann once again at ten o nine a period two,
- 21:08Speaker 11: tapping in a loose pucket the right goalpost, Maddyveneer's Ryan
- 21:12Speaker 11: Lindgren helping set him up with the assist to make
- 21:14Speaker 11: it two nothing. And then and line goes right back
- 21:17Speaker 11: to work again on the rush Laton period two, Jared.
- 21:22Speaker 1: McCann's got two goals, almost a third.
- 21:33Speaker 17: Jared McCann rings it off the post, Jordan every cleans
- 21:38Speaker 17: up the garbage.
- 21:39Speaker 15: It's a three nothing, Seattle clucking lead.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Two o six to play in the second. But we
- 21:45Speaker 4: talk about first passes and if you're die zoned that time.
- 21:48Speaker 4: There a great first pass to Jared mccannn on the
- 21:51Speaker 4: far blue line. He gets a cross, he rips a
- 21:54Speaker 4: wrist shot off the post. It's Jordan Eberley cruising for
- 21:58Speaker 4: the rebound.
- 21:59Speaker 1: He puts it home freight up the Cracker.
- 22:01Speaker 11: As we said earlier here, when that line goes, this
- 22:04Speaker 11: team's also going with them. And Jordan Eberley capping off
- 22:07Speaker 11: a three goal second period nineteenth of the year, Jared McCann,
- 22:11Speaker 11: Adam Larsen setting him up with the assistant on the play,
- 22:14Speaker 11: that goal coming at seventeen fifty four, and at the
- 22:16Speaker 11: end of the period, McCann getting his third multi goal
- 22:19Speaker 11: period and tying Brandon on tour for the third most
- 22:22Speaker 11: in Cracking history, right behind Jordan Eberlee and Jaden Schwartz
- 22:27Speaker 11: as well. The only question lingering into period three to
- 22:30Speaker 11: close out the Capitals, could Jared McCann get a hat trick.
- 22:33Speaker 5: He was so close.
- 22:35Speaker 11: He scored in the breakaway and then the goal wiped
- 22:38Speaker 11: off the board after reviews showed Maddy Banier's got a
- 22:41Speaker 11: high stick and to Justin Sorda if he was given
- 22:43Speaker 11: four minutes for a double minor, so a tough break
- 22:47Speaker 11: there for the crack in tough break for McCann, no
- 22:50Speaker 11: hatch trig goal and the hats that rained onto the
- 22:52Speaker 11: ice carried off in a bit of a false alarm
- 22:55Speaker 11: type of way to keep it still three to nothing,
- 22:57Speaker 11: and then the Capital's getting a four four minute double
- 23:01Speaker 11: minor power play and guess who comes through Alex Olvechkin
- 23:05Speaker 11: two thirty into period three, first twenty second goal of
- 23:08Speaker 11: the season. Ryan Leonard Jacob Chikrit had the assist and
- 23:12Speaker 11: that goal giving Ovechkin then leeway to pass Marceldon for
- 23:16Speaker 11: six most for road points in NHL history. That made
- 23:20Speaker 11: it three to one, but the Kraken killed out the
- 23:22Speaker 11: remaining two minutes of the Washington Man advantage, a big
- 23:26Speaker 11: relief on the Kraken side. Ryker Revins at thirteen to twelve,
- 23:30Speaker 11: getting his fifth goal of the season from Freddie Gudreau
- 23:33Speaker 11: to make it for one. Matty Vanier's capping things off
- 23:36Speaker 11: thirteenth of the year sixteen to twenty seventh, the time
- 23:39Speaker 11: for a thirteen goal the year, to make it five
- 23:41Speaker 11: to one.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Jared mccamm.
- 23:42Speaker 11: Brandon Montur had the assist on the play to finally
- 23:46Speaker 11: wrap it up in a five to one win for
- 23:48Speaker 11: the Kraken over the Washington Capitals. Final shots on net
- 23:52Speaker 11: kracken had thirty two Washington with twenty power plays wise,
- 23:55Speaker 11: both teams getting a goal to receive me in the
- 23:58Speaker 11: krack and going one for four. Washington goes one for
- 24:01Speaker 11: five and Jared McCann for the second time in his
- 24:03Speaker 11: career it's a four point game that tying a career high.
- 24:07Speaker 11: Matty Beniers as well, putting together a multi point effort.
- 24:10Speaker 11: He's got eighteen points in his last nineteen games. While
- 24:15Speaker 11: Philip Grubauer picking up this first win over the Capitals,
- 24:18Speaker 11: his ex team since December one of twenty twenty two.
- 24:22Speaker 11: He is now four to two and one against the
- 24:24Speaker 11: Capitals all time in his career, as he picked up
- 24:28Speaker 11: a nineteen save effort and then win, bumping his record
- 24:31Speaker 11: to eleven five and three last a net to Logan
- 24:34Speaker 11: Thompson five goals allowed on thirty two shots, his record
- 24:38Speaker 11: falling to eighteen sixteen and four time now for the
- 24:41Speaker 11: cors light shillless moments of the game and again. Cracking fans,
- 24:44Speaker 11: you can win your chance to sit in the Corslights
- 24:46Speaker 11: silver seats go to corselight dot com forwards. Last Seattle
- 24:50Speaker 11: Cracking to enter must be twenty one years of age.
- 24:52Speaker 11: No purchase necessary Corslight juice, Chill celebrate responsibly. We combine
- 24:58Speaker 11: two moments into one right here, essentially Jared McCann off
- 25:03Speaker 11: to the races looking for us third.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Of the night.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Donor McMichael left side, turns the corner, slides one on.
- 25:10Speaker 15: Grewbaer makes the same, buck stays out. Jordan Beverly clears
- 25:14Speaker 15: it up in the ear sidewall.
- 25:15Speaker 17: Jared McCann, I'll break away down the slot. Stood Jared
- 25:28Speaker 17: McCann his second hat trick in the National Hockey League,
- 25:33Speaker 17: and the Seattle Cracket take a four nothing.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Lead eighteen thirty three to play in the third.
- 25:41Speaker 4: A Washington shake in their heads because they know they
- 25:43Speaker 4: had one at the other end.
- 25:44Speaker 5: But Grooby stood on his head to keep that buck out.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Every Capitol player had converged down to that house area
- 25:51Speaker 4: for the net. The only one that had was Jared mccannon.
- 25:54Speaker 4: When that buck sported out, it was Larson that fed
- 25:56Speaker 4: it up to him onto a breakaway.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He puts it home side low for nothing. Cracking Sandle
- 26:03Speaker 1: Number ten.
- 26:04Speaker 18: Has a four minute high sticking penalty that is under review.
- 26:08Speaker 10: Okay.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Prior to the goal, Seattle Maddie Beniers.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Had a high sticking penalty which would take away the goal.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'll say it alright, hits right, headsets off. Here we go.
- 26:28Speaker 18: After video review the call is confirmed.
- 26:32Speaker 12: Seattle has a four minute minor for high sticking.
- 26:34Speaker 1: There's no goal on the play.
- 26:36Speaker 9: Wow.
- 26:38Speaker 11: So you talk about an excruciating plot twist right there.
- 26:42Speaker 11: Jared McCann's hat trick wiped off the board and the
- 26:45Speaker 11: Capitol scored in the power play. Of course, Alex Ovechkin's
- 26:48Speaker 11: twenty second goal of the year made it three to one,
- 26:50Speaker 11: but the Capitals would get no closer, and for the
- 26:53Speaker 11: cracking and test of resilience, they eventually pulled through with
- 26:57Speaker 11: two un answered goals.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Could have been three.
- 26:59Speaker 11: Jacob Alanson, on to the front of the net, had
- 27:01Speaker 11: a goal wiped off for a goalie interference, but it
- 27:03Speaker 11: was enough here for foot to gas for the efforts
- 27:06Speaker 11: in a five to one krack and win over the Capitals.
- 27:10Speaker 11: Time now for the big win brought to you by
- 27:12Speaker 11: the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling with the Crack and
- 27:15Speaker 11: trying to keep pace here with the Kings who were
- 27:18Speaker 11: in Detroit this evening.
- 27:20Speaker 5: On to the side for.
- 27:22Speaker 19: Kevin Tiala, see pass kip AOI went to shoot it,
- 27:26Speaker 19: but Pop ruled on him. Clark again tow Fiala looks
- 27:31Speaker 19: around goal line in front of.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Shot pay car Chris Baco power play goal and it's
- 27:37Speaker 5: two nothing case. What a big goal there.
- 27:41Speaker 11: John Kelly had the call for the Kings television side
- 27:44Speaker 11: as Andre Kuzmenko combining Samuel Holinius and Corey Perry for
- 27:49Speaker 11: the goal scoring for Los Angeles. They beat Detroit three
- 27:51Speaker 11: to one earlier this evening. Big win there for the
- 27:53Speaker 11: Kings the Crack and also a big win for them
- 27:55Speaker 11: to keep pace right now and what is essentially a
- 27:59Speaker 11: very tight tie for the Western Conference's second wildcard spot
- 28:03Speaker 11: Crack and sharing that with the Kings and the Sharks
- 28:05Speaker 11: as of this evening end of it, the Sharks, by
- 28:08Speaker 11: the way, owning the tiebreaker. By the way, the Kings
- 28:10Speaker 11: have gotten now points in their last six games, three
- 28:13Speaker 11: zero to three in that run. The Evergreen Council on

- 39:00Speaker 5: It most for you?
- 39:01Speaker 11: As far as what plays mattered most and what kind
- 39:04Speaker 11: of player mattered the most? To you Texas right now
- 39:07Speaker 11: four nine, four, five one. There is a ton to
- 39:10Speaker 11: choose from. Matty Beneers, Jared McCann. I know a lot
- 39:14Speaker 11: of you emotionally are saving this game like he had
- 39:17Speaker 11: a hat trick. He could have had a hat trick maybe,
- 39:19Speaker 11: but taking away in excruciating fashion. Philip Grubauer again, sensational,
- 39:24Speaker 11: Jordan every helping make this line go once again.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Quite a few here to choose from.
- 39:29Speaker 11: Again, tell us right now four nine, four or five one,
- 39:32Speaker 11: which player meant the most to you in tonight's victory
- 39:37Speaker 11: if I can begin ol By the way, we'll also
- 39:39Speaker 11: have Lane Lambert coming up here in just a little bit.
- 39:42Speaker 11: If I can think of just one word to describe
- 39:45Speaker 11: the last half of this game. Crazy may sound cliche,
- 39:49Speaker 11: but crazy definitely applies because you're looking, I think as
- 39:53Speaker 11: a baseline for a Lane Lambert team. The ultimate goal
- 39:57Speaker 11: at the end of the night, of course, is two points.
- 39:59Speaker 11: But how can you make it? But I mean, it
- 40:02Speaker 11: got incredibly harry, it got incredibly messy, it got incredibly
- 40:07Speaker 11: chaotic in period three.
- 40:09Speaker 5: But I think what.
- 40:10Speaker 11: Mattered the most to me was after McCann's hat trick,
- 40:13Speaker 11: and that should have been the death knell of this
- 40:15Speaker 11: game was wiped off the board. And then you give
- 40:18Speaker 11: the Capitals, who again have the NHL's leading goal scorer
- 40:22Speaker 11: looming at the left circle, and what you know, he
- 40:26Speaker 11: makes a three to one. That was I think the
- 40:28Speaker 11: only oh moment of this game. And I think it
- 40:31Speaker 11: tests to see from the word that we heard before
- 40:34Speaker 11: about this team in closing games out maturity and that
- 40:38Speaker 11: comes on an emotional scale. But tonight did they ever
- 40:41Speaker 11: pass a test with flying colors?
- 40:43Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 40:43Speaker 4: I mean the first period was messy, Mike, you know,
- 40:46Speaker 4: on both sides, and you know, fortunately, unfortunately neither side
- 40:50Speaker 4: was able to capitalize on that mess Jacob Chickrin missed
- 40:54Speaker 4: a wide open net in that first period, you know,
- 40:59Speaker 4: James Schwartz, I think at the post on a play,
- 41:01Speaker 4: there were a.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Couple Lexia had a great look there.
- 41:04Speaker 4: There were really good looks at both ends, but oddly,
- 41:07Speaker 4: I would say neither team was able to capitalize. So
- 41:10Speaker 4: then you go into the second period, uh, and I
- 41:12Speaker 4: think Seattle was able to keep creating those opportunities and
- 41:16Speaker 4: then they started to capitalize on him, whereas Washington wasn't
- 41:19Speaker 4: able to coupled with some great goaltending by Philip Grubauer.
- 41:23Speaker 4: So you know, we talked to Philip Gubauer after the game,
- 41:25Speaker 4: and you know, he feels like he has a role
- 41:27Speaker 4: to play in that that momentum of the game, and
- 41:30Speaker 4: you know, when they want to push, he wants to
- 41:32Speaker 4: help do that by continuing to play. And when he
- 41:34Speaker 4: wants to slow things down, you know, because there's been
- 41:36Speaker 4: some extended ozone time by the opposition, he wants to
- 41:39Speaker 4: get whistles and cover the puck up for a faceoff.
- 41:42Speaker 4: So a goltender plays a big role in that as well.
- 41:44Speaker 11: And Grubauer improving the four to two and two since
- 41:47Speaker 11: New Year's Day, and again he very much has been
- 41:49Speaker 11: a big reason why the Kraken are are still very
- 41:51Speaker 11: much in the playoff mix as well. But I think
- 41:54Speaker 11: this is kind of where the whole narrative of Philip
- 41:56Speaker 11: Grubauer has certainly changed. I think over you know, the
- 41:59Speaker 11: course of the last sub months, going back into the summer,
- 42:01Speaker 11: and there's uncertainty with how much of a role that
- 42:04Speaker 11: he could play. But then when you bring on a
- 42:05Speaker 11: brand new coach, a new concept and idea a system,
- 42:08Speaker 11: and then Colin Zulianello to work with him, he also
- 42:11Speaker 11: worked with Grubauer last year in Coachella Valley. That's where
- 42:15Speaker 11: the game changes, and I think for me, the difference
- 42:18Speaker 11: with Grubauer is the fact that you're looking at the
- 42:22Speaker 11: type of shots he faces, and there really hasn't been
- 42:26Speaker 11: many clean shots he's seen where the puck hats found
- 42:30Speaker 11: the back of the net. He's been very clean. He
- 42:32Speaker 11: has been very crisp with this movement, and he has
- 42:35Speaker 11: given this team an extra edge and a sense of
- 42:38Speaker 11: confidence that really has been missing for quite a while.
- 42:41Speaker 11: When it comes to goaltending.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's a big part of it. To
- 42:43Speaker 4: you know, your goaltender is your last line of defense,
- 42:46Speaker 4: and tonight he was that. A few times. There were
- 42:50Speaker 4: flurries of opportunities in front where there were second and
- 42:52Speaker 4: third chances for Washington.
- 42:55Speaker 5: He got up made saves on some of them.
- 42:57Speaker 4: In some cases it was Vince Dunn coming across with
- 42:59Speaker 4: a big block, and you rely on that as a goaltender.
- 43:02Speaker 4: That's part of what makes you successful is having guys
- 43:06Speaker 4: in front of you that are willing to block shots.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Because even when Vince Doune blocks that shot, you don't
- 43:10Speaker 4: know where that SHOT's going. Yeah, it might get deflected
- 43:13Speaker 4: into the nets, so you still have to be ready,
- 43:15Speaker 4: but you always appreciate that when guys are willing to
- 43:17Speaker 4: put their bodies in front of that top puck.
- 43:19Speaker 11: Cracking had fourteen block shots, Capitals had sixteen. I mean,
- 43:22Speaker 11: you want to take a look at the giveaway category
- 43:24Speaker 11: because this is where it got very, very, very messy,
- 43:29Speaker 11: and I think it goes back to what you mentioned
- 43:31Speaker 11: in one of your three keys back in pregame coverage.
- 43:33Speaker 11: Cracking had ten giveaways. Okay, you're gonna cop the puck
- 43:36Speaker 11: up sometimes. Yeah, the Capitols had twenty. I don't think
- 43:39Speaker 11: they're getting on a happy bus right now to go
- 43:42Speaker 11: to the plane and head off to Detroit here at
- 43:44Speaker 11: this point, but I think, where do you look at
- 43:47Speaker 11: this game. I think from the intersection of taking advantage
- 43:52Speaker 11: of a Capitol's team that might be losing gas on
- 43:54Speaker 11: this trip and definitely losing gas on their side of
- 43:58Speaker 11: the playoff race, to how much the Kraken S doug
- 44:01Speaker 11: to it here with what they wanted to do with
- 44:03Speaker 11: their ford checking.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Well, I mean, they're on the fifth game of a
- 44:06Speaker 4: six game road trip. They're go ahead there heading to
- 44:08Speaker 4: Droit tonight to finish that road trip. They're coming off
- 44:11Speaker 4: an emotional loss up in Edmonton where they put five
- 44:14Speaker 4: pucks in the back of the Edmonton net. Unfortunately Connor
- 44:17Speaker 4: McDavid and his team puts six in. So it's frustrating
- 44:20Speaker 4: to lose shootout games like that. They're a little broken
- 44:23Speaker 4: on the blue line right now. We talked to their
- 44:25Speaker 4: broadcast team before the game, and you know they're making
- 44:28Speaker 4: some last minute changes, and you know, when that kind
- 44:30Speaker 4: of stuff happens. As a player, you get you get
- 44:32Speaker 4: concerned about you know, your your team structure a little bit.
- 44:35Speaker 4: You do your best individually, but when you're having guys
- 44:38Speaker 4: come out of the lineup last minute, or guys get
- 44:40Speaker 4: getting hurt over the course of a long road trip,
- 44:42Speaker 4: that can be frustrating and a bit defeating.
- 44:45Speaker 11: And the Capital's got their only goal on the power play,
- 44:48Speaker 11: of course, coming off of what was apparently a hat trick,
- 44:51Speaker 11: and then call reverse because of a high sticking penalty
- 44:54Speaker 11: as well. But I mean, here's the difference in how
- 44:56Speaker 11: the Crack and I think we're able to play the
- 44:59Speaker 11: way that they played. Alex Ovechkin, who's now into his forties,
- 45:04Speaker 11: wasn't that much noticeable. Tom Wilson leaning goals scorer wasn't
- 45:07Speaker 11: that much noticeable. And then I mean minuses up and
- 45:11Speaker 11: down across the board here in a game like this,
- 45:14Speaker 11: I mean it just really I think, kind of showed
- 45:17Speaker 11: that once the Kraken got right past period one and
- 45:19Speaker 11: you look at the Jacob Chickrid mischance, that was big.
- 45:23Speaker 11: But then that kind of gave them a sense of relief,
- 45:26Speaker 11: and I think for them to eventually take the power
- 45:28Speaker 11: play they had into period two convert on it, that's
- 45:32Speaker 11: where you began to really feel that their game was
- 45:35Speaker 11: taking off because they had matters. It seemed finally in control.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Yeah, we talk a lot about Jared mccannon losing it
- 45:43Speaker 4: on that opportunity to have a hat trick tonight. Obviously,
- 45:46Speaker 4: the goal went in, all the hats came on the ice,
- 45:49Speaker 4: but it got erased from everybody's memory. Then in black style,
- 45:53Speaker 4: when the referees decided the line'sman decided that there was
- 45:56Speaker 4: a high stick on the play and there was a
- 45:58Speaker 4: four minute double minor assessed to Matty Benier's because they
- 46:03Speaker 4: made the call, which means the goal goes away.
- 46:04Speaker 5: But let's also.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Remember that on that ensuing power play, Yes, Alex Evetchrin scored.
- 46:11Speaker 4: That's what eliminated the shutout for Philip Grubauer. Up until
- 46:15Speaker 4: that point, he was looking like he might have a
- 46:17Speaker 4: shutout night. So not only do you lose the hat
- 46:19Speaker 4: trick for Jared McCann, but Philip Grubauer loses that shutout
- 46:22Speaker 4: opportunity as well. So both a big kick in the butt.
- 46:26Speaker 11: You know, when the last time the Krack Can gave
- 46:28Speaker 11: a five on five goal, it was that lost to Anaheim.
- 46:32Speaker 11: That was two games ago, the loss to Anaheim.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Yeah, they're playing well, even strengthened, and Philip Grubauer is
- 46:38Speaker 4: a large reason for that.
- 46:39Speaker 11: Crack and again win five to one over the Washington
- 46:42Speaker 11: Capitals before we get some more reaction. And also to
- 46:44Speaker 11: Lane Lambert, I mean, I want to get to the
- 46:46Speaker 11: Matty Baniers liner because it seems like it's pretty apparent
- 46:49Speaker 11: that they pushed the right button at the right time,
- 46:52Speaker 11: Lane Lambert, especially on this putting McCann right back with
- 46:55Speaker 11: Benier's and Jordan Ebley and the points are cutting. I
- 46:57Speaker 11: think a big part of this here is McCann got
- 47:00Speaker 11: his offense, but also ever since this team started to
- 47:03Speaker 11: really take off mid December, vaniers a scoring has risen
- 47:07Speaker 11: as well, and we're seeing more and more plays under
- 47:10Speaker 11: the hood that give you the impression once again that
- 47:13Speaker 11: he's playing more like an assertive top six center once
- 47:17Speaker 11: again here in the NHL, up to eighteen points and
- 47:20Speaker 11: nineteen games, and Jared McCann absolutely feeding here from as
- 47:24Speaker 11: a result here from from this evening.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that line of McCann Vaneers and every eight points tonight,
- 47:30Speaker 4: four for McCann, two for Beneers, two for every a
- 47:33Speaker 4: collective plus nine. They all had plus three on there
- 47:35Speaker 4: on their cards tonight. A perfect game for your top line.
- 47:40Speaker 4: That's what you want. And people can argue with me
- 47:42Speaker 4: about lines one, two or three or four, whether they
- 47:44Speaker 4: exist or not. Tonight that was your number one line.
- 47:47Speaker 11: Two nothing goal or three nothing goal. What stood out
- 47:51Speaker 11: to you more, I think with how this line was
- 47:52Speaker 11: able to produce.
- 47:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they're different kinds of goals. Like to me,
- 47:58Speaker 4: it was the first goal of the game. It was
- 48:00Speaker 4: so important for Seattle to get that. They'd given up
- 48:02Speaker 4: that first goal of the game for nine to the
- 48:04Speaker 4: last ten. But Jared mccannon getting that first goal of
- 48:07Speaker 4: the game was huge. It was a power play goal,
- 48:09Speaker 4: it was a ice missile of a shot. You see
- 48:13Speaker 4: him take that shot, Like, listen, when you're on the
- 48:15Speaker 4: dot and you let a one time or go, that's
- 48:16Speaker 4: one thing difficult, difficult to score. But he was like
- 48:20Speaker 4: he was five ten feet above the top of the
- 48:22Speaker 4: circles and he let a one time or go and
- 48:24Speaker 4: beat Thompson clean.
- 48:25Speaker 5: So heck Machane kind of got up a bit awkwardly too,
- 48:28Speaker 5: you know.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Which is also impressive because again, anybody can one time
- 48:32Speaker 4: a puck when it's coming at you slow, you have
- 48:34Speaker 4: all the time in the world. That puck was crisply
- 48:37Speaker 4: passed to him and he had to adjust quickly to
- 48:39Speaker 4: get the shot off. He did, So that first goal
- 48:42Speaker 4: was the big one for me. But putting two more
- 48:44Speaker 4: past Thompson there in that second period to go up
- 48:47Speaker 4: three nothing, that was huge. That was a statement period.
- 48:50Speaker 5: I think.
- 48:50Speaker 11: I think also go I think I when I go
- 48:53Speaker 11: back and look at this, if I can clarify as well,
- 48:55Speaker 11: Gold to scored front of them, that they went a battle.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Lendron got a shot through goal three cups off the rush.
- 49:00Speaker 11: So I mean, I think if you look at this
- 49:02Speaker 11: from the type of goals that you want to see,
- 49:05Speaker 11: this this this this this line produced. Whether it is
- 49:10Speaker 11: the kind of front of them that play that they're getting,
- 49:13Speaker 11: or if they're getting rush opportunities here, I mean over
- 49:16Speaker 11: and over West hands out most.
- 49:18Speaker 4: Well, it's to me it stands. What stands out is
- 49:21Speaker 4: that they're they're creative with how they score. Okay, you
- 49:26Speaker 4: got a power play goal, that's your first one by McCann.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Uh you got a rebound goal that Jordan Eberdy scores
- 49:33Speaker 4: off of the McCann shot that honestly could have been
- 49:35Speaker 4: his hat trick there it ring rang off the post.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Every picks that one up. But now it's McCann assisting
- 49:41Speaker 4: on Everty's goal. McCann had the second goal in that
- 49:44Speaker 4: second period. They're they're they're scoring in different ways, and
- 49:47Speaker 4: when you include power play with even strength, they don't
- 49:51Speaker 4: think you're missing shorthanded goals. And uh, well we don't
- 49:53Speaker 4: want to talk about shorthanded goals.
- 49:55Speaker 11: Q Wow, nothing coming here this evening, and that's a
- 49:58Speaker 11: good thing for the Crack And again five one they
- 50:00Speaker 11: knock off. The Washington Capitol's funniest moment, I think for
- 50:03Speaker 11: me as well, was the Jacob Alansen gold though, which
- 50:05Speaker 11: unfortunately got wiped away. And in the video review, of course,
- 50:08Speaker 11: everyone starts a Seahawks chant right back in soon.
- 50:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm a pleach arena.
- 50:12Speaker 11: We know what's coming two sundays from now. Fourth Super
- 50:16Speaker 11: Bowl appearance with the Seahawks. I mean, hey, you gotta
- 50:18Speaker 11: get a Seahawks chant going?
- 50:19Speaker 5: Why not?
- 50:20Speaker 19: Uh?
- 50:21Speaker 11: We go right now to the TACOMADAJH Tex line again,
- 50:24Speaker 11: four nine, four five one. Already we get responses coming in, Uh,
- 50:27Speaker 11: the four to two five saying gonna go with Maddy
- 50:29Speaker 11: Benier's his improvement has turned this first line into a
- 50:33Speaker 11: consistent scoring threat.
- 50:35Speaker 5: Uh that from Jeff and the four to two five.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean this line has lots of tenure together,
- 50:42Speaker 4: so no surprise that they're doing well. Jared mccannon comes
- 50:45Speaker 4: back from an injury, uh, not too long ago. He's
- 50:48Speaker 4: getting you know, he's jumping on a moving train, he's
- 50:50Speaker 4: getting settled in. He's looking like he's playing his best
- 50:53Speaker 4: hockey right now. And you put him on a line
- 50:55Speaker 4: with Maddy Beniers, who's starting to elevate his game to
- 50:59Speaker 4: another level as well.
- 51:00Speaker 11: Well.
- 51:00Speaker 4: We're seeing him score in different kinds of ways. It
- 51:02Speaker 4: was a highlight reel goal last game. Obviously, one more
- 51:06Speaker 4: tonight as well, and Jordan Beverley being not just the
- 51:09Speaker 4: captain but also contributed offensively. That line's unstoppable right now four.
- 51:13Speaker 11: Two five, also saying best complete game of the season.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Steddy start and look what they can do.
- 51:19Speaker 11: That from the four to two five sep for four
- 51:21Speaker 11: two five text as well, getting quite a few of
- 51:23Speaker 11: them this season and saying krack and took it to
- 51:25Speaker 11: a team that you know, oddly had you know, so
- 51:27Speaker 11: many fans here in the building, but still proved to
- 51:30Speaker 11: be tough enough in the better team as well, another
- 51:32Speaker 11: four to two five text saying don't care what anyone says,
- 51:36Speaker 11: McCann got a hat trick here for tonight, hoping that
- 51:39Speaker 11: he stays as well until maybe he retires as well.
- 51:42Speaker 11: That from that reaction from the four to two five,
- 51:45Speaker 11: I think for many yeah, you you you see what happens.
- 51:49Speaker 11: Beniers gets a high stick in the sort of but
- 51:51Speaker 11: I think the emotional takeaways McCann deserved that hat for tonight.
- 51:55Speaker 4: I think he did too. And uh, you know, we
- 51:58Speaker 4: talked about fans losing their hat they tossed on the ice.
- 52:01Speaker 4: I think, ah that I felt so bad. I think
- 52:03Speaker 4: a lot of fans believe that he still should have
- 52:05Speaker 4: had that hat trick, so why not.
- 52:07Speaker 11: It would have been the second hat trick, by the
- 52:09Speaker 11: way for McCann of his career, fifth in kracking history.
- 52:13Speaker 11: But it must wait another nights. But the Kraken the
- 52:16Speaker 11: most important thing. Two more points on the board, three
- 52:19Speaker 11: and two now on the home stand, and most importantly,
- 52:23Speaker 11: keeping pace with San Jose and the Kings, who won
- 52:26Speaker 11: as well this evening three way tie for them for
- 52:29Speaker 11: the second wild card spot, and it's getting.
- 52:31Speaker 5: More and more tight right now.
- 52:33Speaker 11: By the way, in the Western Conference, Cracking are two
- 52:36Speaker 11: points back of third place Anaheim, and we still have
- 52:40Speaker 11: plenty of hockey to go. Again the krack and knock
- 52:44Speaker 11: off the Capitols five to one. More reaction plus head
- 52:46Speaker 11: coach Lane Lambert coming on the other side of this break.
- 52:49Speaker 11: This is talking krakeing a ninety three to three KJARFM.
- 52:54Speaker 2: If you've got to come in about tonight's Kracking game,
- 52:57Speaker 2: make sure we hear about it.
- 52:58Speaker 5: Just text us.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Now back to Tucking Kraken with Mike Benton on Sports
- 53:05Speaker 2: Radio ninety three point three kJ r f M.
- 53:08Speaker 11: Another four two five text coming in again, spotlighting Jacob
- 53:12Speaker 11: mallonson just saying that he needs more ice time as
- 53:14Speaker 11: well that for the four to two five and if
- 53:16Speaker 11: you can get everyone firing like they were tonight, there's
- 53:20Speaker 11: only so much ice time here to go around. But
- 53:22Speaker 11: mllanson as well kind of giving the cherry on top
- 53:25Speaker 11: act for this game. A fight late with Brandonduhayen also
- 53:28Speaker 11: had seven hits once again, oul hump for Jacob's average.
- 53:33Speaker 11: Seven hits for Jacob mallans and also a fight in
- 53:36Speaker 11: this evenings game. But again the Matty veniirs line eight
- 53:38Speaker 11: combined points here for tonight and a five to one
- 53:42Speaker 11: win over the Capitals. Mike Benton Alkaniski with you live
- 53:45Speaker 11: at Tom's watch Bar right across from Climate Pledge Arena.
- 53:49Speaker 5: All right back downstairs we go.
- 53:50Speaker 11: Lane Lambert meeting with the media right now, and it
- 53:53Speaker 11: sounds like that he's got a little more as far
- 53:55Speaker 11: as what this team has been doing well lately.
- 53:58Speaker 23: Well, I think our guys have dinner a good job,
- 54:01Speaker 23: you know, overall throughout the whole year of trying to play,
- 54:05Speaker 23: you know, the way we need to play in order
- 54:06Speaker 23: to win and stick to our identity.
- 54:08Speaker 9: At times we get a little bit away from it.
- 54:10Speaker 9: Maybe but.
- 54:12Speaker 23: You know, give them all the credit after the Anaheim
- 54:15Speaker 23: game to come back here with these uh, these two games,
- 54:17Speaker 23: and you know we have to keep going. But a
- 54:20Speaker 23: lot of commitment, a lot of commitment to uh the
- 54:22Speaker 23: way we play, a lot of commitment to our structure,
- 54:24Speaker 23: and you know we piggyback our offense off of that.
- 54:28Speaker 1: And one player I wanted to single out was Ryker Evans.
- 54:31Speaker 24: In addition to the.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Goal that he scored, he had a couple of big hits,
- 54:36Speaker 2: which isn't his usual m O.
- 54:39Speaker 1: And I thought he just really stood out at both
- 54:41Speaker 1: ends of the eyes.
- 54:42Speaker 9: Yeah, I thought he was really good. You know, we
- 54:45Speaker 9: we need him to play physical.
- 54:47Speaker 14: Uh.
- 54:48Speaker 23: And it's not run around and hit people, but it's
- 54:50Speaker 23: physical and battles physical when you're taking people out as
- 54:53Speaker 23: they're coming into our zone.
- 54:55Speaker 9: I thought he did a great job of that tonight. Uh.
- 55:00Speaker 1: For Jared's a second goal, the guy's killed off a
- 55:03Speaker 1: penalty there.
- 55:03Speaker 9: Where'd you see from them in that specific spot?
- 55:06Speaker 18: Uh?
- 55:07Speaker 23: Well, I thought our penalty kill for the most part
- 55:10Speaker 23: was was good. We got caught a little bit, you know,
- 55:13Speaker 23: we wanted a pressure and they made a nice play
- 55:16Speaker 23: and and they scored. But you know, I give our
- 55:20Speaker 23: guys full credit because that was a real turning point obviously,
- 55:25Speaker 23: going from for nothing to having to kill off four
- 55:28Speaker 23: minute power play and getting scored on in the first
- 55:32Speaker 23: two minutes, which means you have two more at three
- 55:35Speaker 23: to one.
- 55:36Speaker 9: I thought we stepped up to the plate and did
- 55:38Speaker 9: a really good job there.
- 55:40Speaker 11: But with the with the two before the two oh goal,
- 55:42Speaker 11: would you what do you recall about that specific kill right.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Before my cam made it to nothing?
- 55:48Speaker 9: Well, I thought we were good. I thought we stood
- 55:50Speaker 9: up with the line. I thought our structure was good.
- 55:53Speaker 23: We did a real good job of taking away seems,
- 55:56Speaker 23: you know, which is something that I think we're doing well.
- 55:58Speaker 23: I know we're doing a better job above since the
- 56:00Speaker 23: beginning of the year. So, you know, give our guys credit, coach.
- 56:07Speaker 25: So Jared McCann gets four points tonight, Jordan Everly gets two,
- 56:10Speaker 25: My Eveineers gets too. How important is to have your
- 56:13Speaker 25: top line.
- 56:14Speaker 9: Clicking like that? Yeah, no, it was. They had an
- 56:16Speaker 9: outstanding game, you know, and.
- 56:21Speaker 23: Very important, very important to have those guys do that,
- 56:24Speaker 23: you know, and we, uh, we look forward to more
- 56:28Speaker 23: of that. But certainly, uh, you know, you can you
- 56:30Speaker 23: can see Jared you know, when he gets an opportunity
- 56:33Speaker 23: to score, uh, you know he makes he makes good
- 56:36Speaker 23: on quite a few of those, and.
- 56:38Speaker 9: You allude to it.
- 56:38Speaker 25: But the goal getting negated and then the formaut of penalty.
- 56:42Speaker 25: What was the explanation that you got from the officials
- 56:44Speaker 25: on that.
- 56:44Speaker 23: Well, they had the linesman called the high sticking penalty,
- 56:50Speaker 23: and when alignsman sees a high stick, he can't blow
- 56:52Speaker 23: it down right away. So the play went on for
- 56:54Speaker 23: quite a while obviously, and then you know they reviewed
- 56:59Speaker 23: it and that was the rule and that's the way
- 57:02Speaker 23: it goes. So you know, we couldn't change it. We
- 57:05Speaker 23: just had to buckle down and get through it.
- 57:13Speaker 1: One more thing on the call there.
- 57:15Speaker 12: One thing I'm curious about is why didn't they put
- 57:18Speaker 12: time back on the clock to where the penalty happened.
- 57:21Speaker 9: Well, I didn't notice that they didn't.
- 57:26Speaker 24: Okay, coach, how did you see your defenseman just jumping
- 57:34Speaker 24: up and feeding the offense tonight? You had three defensemen
- 57:37Speaker 24: with assists. How did they kind of get into the
- 57:39Speaker 24: play and impact what you guys were.
- 57:40Speaker 9: Able to create?
- 57:41Speaker 23: Well, part of our strategy tonight with the way they
- 57:44Speaker 23: you know, the way they have their structure in the
- 57:46Speaker 23: neutral zone with a one three one bench side lock.
- 57:48Speaker 23: Is that our d were able to skate the puck up.
- 57:50Speaker 23: We needed them to use their feet, you know, especially
- 57:53Speaker 23: when Washington was in structure. We wanted to play fast,
- 57:57Speaker 23: which I thought we did a really good job of for.
- 57:59Speaker 9: The most part.
- 58:00Speaker 23: And when they you know, when we didn't play fast
- 58:02Speaker 23: or couldn't play fast or to use their feet so
- 58:05Speaker 23: they were more involved in the rush.
- 58:08Speaker 5: All right.
- 58:08Speaker 11: That's head coach Lane Lambert with his reaction and analysis
- 58:11Speaker 11: kind of go through all of this. Adam Larsen one
- 58:14Speaker 11: assist here in the game, Ryker Evans one goal in
- 58:18Speaker 11: the game, Ryan Lindgren one assist in the game, Brandon
- 58:21Speaker 11: Montor one assist in the game. Yeah, I mean, we
- 58:24Speaker 11: can talk a lot about the Beniers line. They were fantastic.
- 58:26Speaker 11: And again, your top line guys have got to drive
- 58:29Speaker 11: the bus offensively, and that's a good sign. But also
- 58:31Speaker 11: when you can get more offense here from your defense
- 58:34Speaker 11: as well, very very positive sign.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Well, I mean they think that was a big focus
- 58:39Speaker 4: in the first half of the season, was depth of
- 58:41Speaker 4: scoring all the way back to the blue line. And
- 58:43Speaker 4: you know, sometimes it's your defensemen that are moving the
- 58:46Speaker 4: puck up the play where Adam Larson fed the puck
- 58:50Speaker 4: up to every on the every goal he drops it
- 58:54Speaker 4: to mccam. Mccam puts it off the post. Everly scores.
- 58:57Speaker 4: You don't get that goal. You don't get that scoring
- 58:58Speaker 4: opportunity if you don't get that pass by Adam Larson.
- 59:02Speaker 4: But going back to mccannon, just calculating some numbers here
- 59:04Speaker 4: while coach was talking. In seventeen games since he's returned
- 59:08Speaker 4: from being injured, said nine goals and nine assists, eighteen points,
- 59:11Speaker 4: So he's over a point a game since he returned,
- 59:14Speaker 4: on pace for north of fifty if he continues.
- 59:17Speaker 11: Full season, roughly forty goals. Once again, he is looking
- 59:21Speaker 11: very much like the same kind of threat offensively as
- 59:24Speaker 11: he was three years ago.
- 59:25Speaker 5: Win this team made the postseason.
- 59:27Speaker 11: Yes, Ryan Lindgren also a subject here of one last
- 59:30Speaker 11: text that will check again. From the four to one
- 59:32Speaker 11: to zero, Ryan Lindgren was my player of the game.
- 59:35Speaker 11: Solid defense, aggressive play, kept momentum going their way. I
- 59:38Speaker 11: think about the big hit that he laid back in
- 59:40Speaker 11: once again Allen tonight eighteen ten of ice time, two
- 59:44Speaker 11: block shots on top of that one hit. But I
- 59:47Speaker 11: mean a rugged type of throwback game that you're getting more.
- 59:51Speaker 11: And I know that Ranger fans have said, yeah, we've
- 59:53Speaker 11: seen this over and over here, but to have a
- 59:55Speaker 11: guy like that on this crack and blue line makes
- 59:57Speaker 11: a big difference.
- 59:58Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously that the hit was huge. He plays a
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: consistently and quiet physical game out there. He's he's very
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: responsible in front of his own net. He's the guy
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: you want there if you've got Tom Wilson in front
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: of the net, or even even Alex Ovechkin. So good
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: game by him tonight. And also that McCann goal, the
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: second one, Uh, he put the puck on net that
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Mcca that Benier's ultimately found and uh and mckenn put
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: the rebound in so that goal doesn't happen. In fact,
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: if Lingerid isn't putting that puck on net.
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: Before we get out, the Toronto may believes one quick
- 1:00:31Speaker 11: look at them, and they went through one tonight in
- 1:00:34Speaker 11: a seven to four loss to the Buffalo Sabers, and
- 1:00:37Speaker 11: after going nine to one to three coming out of
- 1:00:39Speaker 11: the holiday break. To say they backtrack would basically, I
- 1:00:43Speaker 11: think be a bit of an understatement. Coming into today.
- 1:00:47Speaker 11: Seventh in the Atlantic six points out of the wildcard
- 1:00:51Speaker 11: spot in the Eastern Conference. They have now lost five
- 1:00:53Speaker 11: in a row. Their head coach got a huge gash
- 1:00:56Speaker 11: on his forehead. On his forehead from May quote unquote,
- 1:00:58Speaker 11: Jim miss happened. Then you got your leading score as well.
- 1:01:01Speaker 11: Fined five thousand dollars for giving the bird to the camera.
- 1:01:06Speaker 11: How's it going to Maple leaf Land right now? So
- 1:01:08Speaker 11: the Kraken for a game like this, the Leaves are
- 1:01:10Speaker 11: going on a massive road trip and they have some
- 1:01:12Speaker 11: heavy hitters in their way on this road trip. This
- 1:01:15Speaker 11: is where that you have to put your foot down
- 1:01:16Speaker 11: to gas once again early out of the gate.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think if you're a Seattle, you
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: try and block out all that extra noise that you
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: just talked about and you just plan on playing your
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: game and winning this hockey game.
- 1:01:29Speaker 11: Best face off team in the league by the way,
- 1:01:31Speaker 11: entering today fifty six percent. Yet they have been linking
- 1:01:35Speaker 11: a ton of oil defensively twenty seven in the league,
- 1:01:37Speaker 11: by the way, three point three goals a game in Buffalo,
- 1:01:40Speaker 11: who again is red hot hung seven up them earlier
- 1:01:43Speaker 11: today Buffalo seven Leafs for your final score. This will
- 1:01:47Speaker 11: be the second of two matchups. Coming up as a
- 1:01:49Speaker 11: Crack and looking to run the table against some aple leafs,
- 1:01:52Speaker 11: So we'll do it here from Tom's washbar. Big thank
- 1:01:54Speaker 11: you to your reaction. Also our thanks to Travis Muger,
- 1:01:57Speaker 11: technical director. Also Terry Ryan are on site engine here
- 1:02:00Speaker 11: and we'll do it for here for Alkanesski. This is
- 1:02:02Speaker 11: Mike Benton saying good night from Climbing Pledge Arena and
- 1:02:05Speaker 11: Tom's Watchbar, and thank you for joining us the Cracking
- 1:02:08Speaker 11: three and two now on the road trip. Your final
- 1:02:10Speaker 11: score on the home stand, Your final score cracking five
- 1:02:13Speaker 11: Washington Capitals one. This is talking Cracking on ninety three
- 1:02:17Speaker 11: to three KJRFM.
