- 8:55[SPEAKER_11]: It's having a kind of contest, because I don't see what the prize is.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_14]: Hmm.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_11]: A mystery prize.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_11]: Well, whatever it is, it's the thrill of the hunt.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_11]: That's what's important.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_11]: there you go.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_11]: You know, I got my mail this morning.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_11]: Now, earlier this month, I got my school tax bill, and I mentioned it to you.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_11]: And I get two, or you're one for the hill I bought.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_11]: That's only $12 in some of them.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_11]: I sent that in right away.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_11]: But a few days ago, I sent in the bill on the main parcel, or the check.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I'm getting it in early, help the kids out, you know, all of that, and I'll pay for the you kind.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_11]: And, um,
- 9:36[SPEAKER_11]: then I get another school tax bill today.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_11]: Now nobody explained why.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_11]: There was no explanation letter with it.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_11]: Now I happen to know there was something a miss because someone who's in that line of work told me that there was some screw up at the assessment office or something and fourteen hundred tax bills that they're all in amount on them.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_11]: Now in my case what I paid
- 10:01[SPEAKER_11]: earlier this month was twenty one dollars and forty three cents more than I should have but there was no check in here don't let her says you know whatever they're gonna do it by twenty one dollars yeah i you know it's just a and i happen to know there was something a miss but i mean what about most people yeah what about most people
- 10:33[SPEAKER_11]: We will see, we will see, I don't, I really don't know.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, mistakes happen.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_11]: I get that.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_11]: If somebody's got no, there's enough of them down here.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, there's enough of them.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_11]: Who's another thing?
- 10:47[SPEAKER_11]: Somebody told me, is that somebody of veteran observer of City Hall said, back when Patrick Hickey was on the council.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_11]: He had to wait a half an hour out in the hall to get into the manager mayor's suite to have somebody light a man.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_11]: this person described the uh... security down there is like the pedagogy now not my words of that for an observer of things down there so i don't know what's going on but they got that ten thousand dollar door now water town got some notoriety today
- 11:18[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, no, you don't hear about it here, but set except here, but there's a link on news junkie.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_11]: Anyway, I know these things like the New York Times have paywalls.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_11]: I don't like paywalls.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_11]: I wish there was an easy way.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_11]: I wouldn't mind paying 85 cents or something for the story, but I don't want to subscribe to their service forever.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_11]: So anyway, New York Times story, New York Times, the gray old lady, for those who don't know anymore, the New York Times is a major net metropolitan newspaper based in New York City, certainly considered one of the most prestigious papers in the country along with Washington Post and so on.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_11]: But the headline reads, at a fading island of misfit toys, zoo animals face a grim fate.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_11]: Subhad, it went from one of the worst sues in America to a beloved manager he filled with disabled and elderly native species, now the money has just run out.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_11]: In the body of the article, concerning the animals, exotic might be a stretch, Zuni York is a publicly owned privately operated managerie in Watertown, a small and little struggling city in the North Country of Upstate.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_11]: Its residents include a flightless turkey vulture named Ratch, who cuttles with, and sometimes disembowls stuff animals.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_11]: There's camots, a one-eyed wolf, Tass, a chunky bear, who is confiscated from a human home.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_11]: We are the island of Miss Fictoy," she said, now who said that?
- 12:55[SPEAKER_11]: She's going to get in trouble for this, but Emily Griffith, who is a spokesperson for the zoo.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_11]: Now we like Emily here.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_11]: We're big fans of hers.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_11]: We wish we were still on Channel 7.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_11]: I wish she was doing the weather.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_11]: Oh.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_11]: And she could say, and your local weather is next.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_11]: I was on to say in this article in The New York Times, there are no giraffes or elephants at the zoo.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_11]: The lions and monkeys are long gone.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_11]: Most of the 80 or so animals, including a Bobcat, snowy owl, are native to Northern New York.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_11]: Humball isn't may be, many in water town adore their zoo and have taken extraordinary measures to keep it alive during its... 104 years now.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_11]: Wow, it's a long time.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_11]: Time flies.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you know, earlier this year, the marriage proposed a rethinking or reimagining of the park in the zoo and everything.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_11]: I'd like to have planned.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_11]: but they've never done anything what because they're too busy trying to get only he's gonna be gone in a few weeks anyway you don't have to get him anymore you don't try to get them thrown in jail and all of that they're too busy sending emails to each other said they said a lot of emails at city hall i never said them when i was there you don't want to leave a paper trail in life but anyway uh... what else
- 14:20[SPEAKER_11]: You can link on news junky, I don't know.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_11]: There's a way you can get like a free week of reading or something.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_11]: If you can do that, that's great.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_11]: You know, back in the old days of the zoo, before they had when it had the animals, there were city residents who would volunteer to take the Alligators home for the winter and keep them in their basement.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_11]: Did you know that?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, something.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_11]: No.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_11]: Here are the small and long, struggling city.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_11]: Whenever water town gets written about an outside the area,
- 14:51[SPEAKER_11]: I'm wondering how he's quoted in the article, county legislator Fran Calarco, who is... She's kind of like chief Donahue.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_11]: She's on the side of a, on his place, you normally see her on the side of a milk curtain, but she got quoted in this article, and she says the county's not an endless pot of gold.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_11]: Well, they get a lot of gold over there, but I suppose it's not endless.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_11]: And I agree with the legislators, they shouldn't get involved.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_11]: So, anyway, other things going on.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_11]: Somebody got arrested for rape first degree in water town guy from Williams Street happened last summer Thanks a while, doesn't it?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_11]: Those COs corrections officers on trial for the killing of Robert Brooks, one of them that David Kingsley from Adam Center or something That trial still going on against the jury's deliberating And what a mess that was what a mess
- 15:46[SPEAKER_11]: Those of you of an age, and most of you are, who are on Medicare, batting down a hatches on your phone, you're going to get endless calls about Medicare Advantage plans.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_11]: Just hang up.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_11]: Don't talk to them, don't give them information.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_11]: Don't say, you know, just hang up.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, if what you have is fine, leave it at that.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_11]: If you have any questions, call Steve Duffy.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_11]: He knows all about that stuff.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_11]: and the Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzer beloved by some of you and not by others.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_11]: Went to Vegas on vacation with some friends.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_11]: Last year, he won $1.4 million at the Blackjack table.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_11]: I came up and showed up in his tax returns because probably the casino gave him a $10.99.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_11]: $1.4 million, that's not normal.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_11]: gambling there, this guy is a piece of work out there at Illinois, piece of work, you know, I know Stufonic says, Hockel's the worst governor in America, this guy is, and then like most politicians, and people always feel obliged to say this, well, I'm going to give it, I'm going to give them money to charity.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_11]: No, you don't have to, sir, if you want it, you want it.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_11]: But, I don't, you allow that to go on in Illinois.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_11]: Are we only allowed murders in Illinois?
- 17:03[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_11]: All right.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_11]: Um, anyway, that's an interesting story.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_11]: Um, what else is that's about it for my list of stories I had to talk about today.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_11]: What do you want to talk about on this Friday as we enter the weekend?
- 17:20[SPEAKER_11]: Hmm.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_11]: I was over at, I went to Walmart yesterday.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_11]: I don't get out much, but I went to Walmart.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_11]: That was interesting.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_11]: Um, let's see.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_11]: Let's see.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, they got John Bolton and died out along with just James and Colmy.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you know, I don't like weaponization.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_11]: I don't like all of that stuff, but isn't turn about fair play.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_11]: Look what they were doing to, they passed a law that cost the city school district $3 million in Albany, just to get Trump.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_11]: Remember, they changed the look back on sexual assault things, so they could get that.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_11]: dressing room or whatever they want to get trump on something so they change a lot so you get an infinite look back on those type of cases and some you know and then you get these resourceful law firms that go out and you know drum up these type of cases and easy money and they get a school district settle because the district doesn't want to go to trial and all that yeah and that goes out
- 18:34[SPEAKER_11]: We'll see.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, let's see.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, the Carthage Central School District, are they voting?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_11]: Next week.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_11]: Remember they could feed it there by what a terrible thing.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_11]: They must not like the kids out there.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_11]: They ate the kids in Carthage.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_11]: Well, the school district was a little lax and didn't get all the high school seniors in the vote.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_11]: They just figured these things past.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_11]: It's perfunctory.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_11]: But, you know, voter said no in a 91 million dollar capital improvement project.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_11]: I, you know, the voter said no because they're frustrated with government in general.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_11]: That's what the school officials don't understand.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_11]: But they'll represent it to them.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_11]: They'll cut a couple of library books out of it and, you know, that type of thing, maybe a little turf on the turf field.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, they won't turf the sidelines.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_11]: I'll just turf the field.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_11]: I'll do something.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_11]: And then they'll pass it.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_11]: They would.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_11]: They're super intended.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_11]: They will not make the same mistake twice.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_11]: She will make sure that the right people are outroading.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_11]: So, uh, it will pass in Carthage.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_11]: Good afternoon, Ronnie.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_13]: Good afternoon, Mayor.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_11]: What's up?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_13]: You hear the story about the two ladies that owned a Gary Queen store that got sued?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_11]: No.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_13]: As they weren't paying their employees weekly.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_11]: Well, are they, were they supposed to pay him weekly?
- 19:58[SPEAKER_13]: Yes, there's an obscure labor log going back to the depression here where employees that do manual labor have to be paid weekly.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_13]: And these ladies are paying their employees pay to late, every two weeks.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_13]: A discounted employee took them to court for $450,000.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_11]: Well, they probably didn't take them to court because it courts expensive to go to what you can go to is a state agency and then get a law firm to write a threatening letter.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_11]: You better settle out a court or there's not be expensive.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_11]: That's how it works.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_13]: Right.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_13]: You are correct.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_13]: They were sued for 450,000.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_13]: I'll just leave it at that.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_11]: All right.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_13]: Whatever they worry about.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_13]: Anyways, they settled out a court for 250,000.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_13]: course the lawyers got 30% just like you alluded to the lawyers are the ones who make the money.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_13]: The employees only got $200 a piece.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah, that's the way it works.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_11]: This is basically a scam that goes on among lawyers, and you know, if you hire a lawyer to defend yourself, they're in on the scam too, because they just want you to settle.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_11]: They just say, well, watch the settle.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_11]: Bunch it is settled.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_11]: You know, you'll be out from under it.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_11]: That's your reward.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_11]: And so, yeah, it goes on on both sides of the equation, unfortunately.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_11]: And most of us have had personal experience with that.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_11]: So, as far as paying every tire was paid every week, anyway, you should, when you hire somebody, there is a forum, you fill out, have them sign up saying,
- 21:37[SPEAKER_11]: when your pay periods are and what the hourly wages and all that so they acknowledge it right there i didn't realize you couldn't pay every two weeks of some a lot of places got into doing that to save money and pay will cost i i think it's pay every week it's easier yes i just wanted to give it to give an example of of how it works well yeah yeah there's no doubt about it uh... that's how they do it it's a shake down is what it is
- 22:08[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't know how big a business this was, but you know, the public says, oh, 200,000 air in business, they can afford it.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_11]: No, that may be all they have to retire on.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_14]: Exactly.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, so that's the type of thing.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_11]: So, I mean, yeah, I mean, and the bureaucrats are running agencies, trust me, they don't care.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_11]: They're lazy, most of them, and they have an agenda.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_11]: And the agenda is they don't like certain groups of people who are too
- 22:38[SPEAKER_11]: Right?
- 22:39[SPEAKER_13]: Okay.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_13]: I have a high, I have another question all in there.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I can't write out.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_13]: Mom.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_11]: All right, I got a run.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_11]: Thanks, bye now.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_11]: All right, somebody's just tried to call me.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_11]: Ken love it, just tried to call me.

- 25:48[SPEAKER_31]: We have so many issues that need to be addressed sooner than later, whether it's the looming budget shortfall.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_31]: The expiration of the Hydrocontract are aging infrastructure, crime or homelessness.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_31]: These problems need to be met with seriousness and a sense of urgency.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_31]: If elected, I will do my part to promote public safety initiatives to combat crime, and senseless acts of vandalism so our families could feel secure in their neighborhoods once again.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_31]: And I will work tirelessly to advocate for the taxpayers who are already burdened with perpetual cost increases.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_31]: I love this city and that's why I can't emphasize enough how critical this upcoming election is because it will determine the course of water tones future.

- 27:08[SPEAKER_09]: Bring your cans and bottles today.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_09]: They do the rest.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_09]: There's a lot of things that need changing.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_09]: One of them could be your roof.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_09]: If so, get herages contracting.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_09]: Defix it or replace it all together.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_09]: Don't delay though.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_09]: Call now to set up your free estimate.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_09]: Call 7-8-29 for herages contracting.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_08]: The people who call you back.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_11]: It's all you need to know.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, you need to know, right here on A. I'm 1240, WATN, well, a lot of political things.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_11]: I know that.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_11]: there are things that are not in the city of water town that still are of interest to me in many of you.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_11]: One was the mayoral debate down in New York City last night on channel four.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_11]: And featured Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Slywood, and Zorron Mamdami, Mr. Mamdami, way I had an appoles in New York City.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_11]: So it looks like he's going to be the next mayor.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_11]: People say, well, that doesn't matter to me.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_11]: I love a texture, it doesn't matter to me.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_11]: Well,
- 28:09[SPEAKER_11]: New York City, well, the state legislation and Albany has honored the assembly as honored in 50 members.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_11]: 69 or 70 have come from the five boroughs.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, what goes on down there has a great effect on state government and on you.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_11]: So when Mamedami clamors for his $30 an hour minimum wage, that sentiment will move up to Albany.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_11]: And a lot of other things.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_11]: Pusses that are free and fast.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_11]: Why can't we have that water-town mayor?
- 28:39[SPEAKER_11]: Mayor Pierce, we want free and fast by fast and free.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_11]: Excuse me.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_11]: He says fast and free.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_11]: So we want that too.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_11]: And we want everything else.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_11]: We want everything he's promising down there for up here.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_11]: But no, it is important.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_11]: And the other reason it's important, much of this area up here in Watertown, used to be, but as now, was represented by representative, at least, Defonic, who is, they say going to run for governor after this election is over.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_11]: And obviously, my domi would be an issue in that campaign because Governor Kathy Hockel has embraced my domi.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_11]: It was a warm and passionate embrace, yes.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_11]: So, you know, that'll become an issue there.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_11]: Somebody told me in the news business that they heard that whether Stufonic runs for governor hinges on the special election for that vacant assembly seat up in Platsburg Clinton, Essex, and Franklin County.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_11]: Danny Mike Cashman, who's a town of Platsburg, supervisor is the Democrat.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_11]: I think he's probably going to win given the makeup of that district and then there's a retired
- 29:56[SPEAKER_11]: I was running on the Republican line, but I can't see where that race would affect whether she runs for governor or not, but maybe I don't know.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_11]: She's pretty much dropped out of Washington politics.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_11]: You never see her with leadership anymore hanging out with a speaker or Mr. Scalice or the others.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_11]: It's always that Congresswoman McLean from Michigan who took over her job as whatever it was, whatever she did there.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_11]: So, and she's got her house for sale in D.C. Yeah.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_11]: Not sure that it was on news junkie.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know if I got reported elsewhere, but.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_11]: Um, so we don't know.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_11]: We don't know about that race.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_11]: Then there's the two, uh, idea or elections, one for governor of New Jersey.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_11]: Boy, it's Fox News keeps pushing.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, it's getting closer to God.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_11]: I think, uh,
- 30:50[SPEAKER_11]: Mikey Cheryl will win.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_11]: She's kind of fetching.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_11]: So I think she'll win.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_11]: And down in Virginia, there's enough federal employees in Arlington in those places to elect a Spanberger.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_11]: Even though she looks like a deer in the headlight, that AG candidate or why the kill people children, he may go down to defeat, but it'll be a narrow defeat because most Democrats still
- 31:17[SPEAKER_11]: I think at too many other races of significance around it.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, the thing that was of significance, and it was on the front page of the hood today, but I told you that's a court of appeals.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_11]: That's New York State's highest court has upheld a law that would move all local elections to even number years, like 2024, 2020.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_11]: So those are even number years.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_11]: And so we wouldn't have, I mean,
- 31:42[SPEAKER_11]: It must be some reason that because it would, in some way, help Democrats, but the governor says it's to eliminate election fatigue.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_11]: People are just too fatigued having to vote once a year.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_11]: And that's such nonsense.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_11]: Governor, nonsense.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_11]: Please, don't insult our intelligence.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_11]: But anyway, how would that affect?
- 32:02[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't know if it will affect our city light.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_11]: Do they have to move them to?
- 32:05[SPEAKER_11]: And then what happens to the people in office get an extra year?
- 32:09[SPEAKER_11]: Or do they lose a year?
- 32:10[SPEAKER_11]: Or how does it work?
- 32:11[SPEAKER_11]: they won't make them lose it.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_11]: You're the extra year in office, you know, or you have to run for a one year term.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_11]: That's another thing you could do.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_11]: But basically, if you look at this city council election, and these are facts, these aren't things I'm making up.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_11]: Last year in the presidential race, a hair over 7,000 people in the city voted about 3,500 and change for Trump, the same amount for
- 32:41[SPEAKER_11]: Little over seven, just a hair over 7,000.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_11]: In our primary for city council in June, 17 or 1800 people voted, and in the general, probably 25 or 28 hundred will vote at tops, 3000.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_11]: Let's take the 3000 tops.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_11]: Now, if you had 4,000 additional people voting on a city council race, would that have the potential for changing things?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_11]: There's those people are invoting for president, they'll vote for the city council too.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_11]: I, yeah, I'm what.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_11]: So definitely, what would be really neat no, never do it because the teachers you're in need more to allow it.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_11]: It's moved those school budget and school board elections to November cycle.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, oh, oh, last thing they want is that.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_11]: The last thing they want is that.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_11]: So, but anyway, as far as other elections, yeah, that's kind of where it is, I am.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know if I'm in favor of it or not.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_11]: you tell me should we be in favor of that you know what about the judges for them seats up here coming to this year uh... well let's see
- 34:13[SPEAKER_11]: uh... that's not nice you're not going to get any currency on this show by insulting shannon yeah just doesn't happen we love shannon here she's wonderful hardworking business woman smart somewhat personable uh... that type of thing now we won't get no it will never be allowed anything bad said about her here
- 34:40[SPEAKER_11]: I see the city zoning board of appeals is pretty much worth a cabash on those two local business matter wanted to open uh... cannabis cannabis stores yep well that's coming from the top that's coming from the third floor the big guy doesn't want that in town that's why even after city council approved the repeal they get everything they could water that down
- 35:04[SPEAKER_11]: and then they're by not allowing not including on promise with it and then they're doing everything they can through zoning and planning to stop people from from opening can of legal cannabis stores they don't care about the early there they're more than happy with those they're more than happy with those but the legal ones they don't want those for some reason so two local businessmen uh... had wanted to but they want to allow it
- 35:34[SPEAKER_11]: I guess they're very profitable, you know, then I wish our local news had go out and talked out of the town supervisor and Pamelia, find out what's going on with that story.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_11]: They're making a lot of money off of that, out of money.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't know, even during the debate on repealing that law, there was any information given to city council about how much the city of Syracuse was deriving from all of these.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_11]: Now, I'm not saying that's a rationale for allowing them.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_11]: That'd be like saying, you know, it's okay to be a child in the last resort as long as you get a permit from the city and give us $75.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_11]: You know, no, it isn't all right to do that under any circumstance.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_11]: But, in the case of, you know, this is a legal product now in New York and, you know, people trade it from, you know, I most people don't.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_11]: They look and say it's a legal product, you know, but we always have a bunch of weird laws, like why can you buy a beer eight in the morning at 7-11, which can't buy one at my place, still 10?
- 36:36[SPEAKER_11]: Because a lot of times they like to have these illogical laws, zoning laws, ZBAs, and all that, you know, and just it awes you with the power of government and you submit more easily.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_11]: But the two businessmen, I think Mr. Saboro was one of them, and the other fellow from Carthage,
- 36:52[SPEAKER_11]: Our proven business people they wanted to take a couple of buildings and make them into something and the city won't let them give them a variance.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_11]: I knew they wouldn't get the variance if they had asked me ahead of time, especially for something like that, especially because they pass this whole mess with the golf club was a result of
- 37:14[SPEAKER_11]: The third floor and the planning people, they proposed all these changes to planning and they rendered the land up in the adjacent to the park where the golf club was, the club, they rendered it useless by rezoning it to something where you couldn't develop it in any way.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_11]: So that's what force that sale that everybody complains about.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_11]: the 3.4 million or whatever it was.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, whether that was the right price or not, it was the city government and this city council that forced that sale by rezoning it and rendering it valueless.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_11]: So that was really just compensation for the diminished value that the city imposed on that property owner at the time.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't blame him for taking the money one bit.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_11]: Don't blame him at all.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_11]: So I mean, all of this stuff, and I'm all for like reasonable rules and planning, but I think I don't all this stuff going on informing non-conforming use experiences and all of that, you can't do anything.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_11]: And the result is everything's going down the crap or all we do is take property off the tax rules.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_11]: Now we got these the properties that are gonna be demolished, the city's gonna have to end up taking title to those.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_11]: The property owners aren't gonna pay for the demolition.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_11]: it just goes on and on and now they're talking now you think it's city council behind closed doors tonight behind the locked ten thousand dollar door they're talking about some kind of property they want to require or something else yeah so it's going to be tax exempt city but after
- 38:59[SPEAKER_05]: It's okay.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_05]: We don't need to say nothing nasty, right?
- 39:02[SPEAKER_05]: You know what I'm talking about?
- 39:03[SPEAKER_05]: The safe book war.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not going to talk about it here.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_11]: Alrighty.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_11]: I'm sorry.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_11]: We're just not going to talk about it.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_11]: You know, I know that social media is carte blank for some people, just to make accusations about people.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_11]: Uh, I don't buy that.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_11]: And you got to understand one thing too.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_11]: You think this is a free and open discussion of everything.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, nobody's going to insult my friends on the air.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_11]: Nobody's going to insult a client on the air.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_11]: You know, you just don't do that.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_11]: You know, free speech is a relative thing.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_11]: Just like you can't yell fire in a crowded theater.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_11]: You can't just say whatever you want about people on a talk show.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_11]: So that's that.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't care whether you call them public films or not.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_11]: All righty, uh, 755-1240 the phone number if you'd like to give us a call, uh, what you write on here, talk about whatever you want, but first these messages.

- 48:09[SPEAKER_11]: That's off to here.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_11]: There you see this whole thing, this whole black thing.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_11]: That's all new.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_11]: But that glass and that door.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_11]: And I assume it's got to keep that out of there.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_10]: Some kind of security reasons.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_10]: That's what they say.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_10]: If like a safer.

- 48:32[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_11]: They should have put that.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_09]: You know the lay of the land there.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_11]: They should have put that down the hall near the elevators.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_09]: And right, right, so you would.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, so as soon as I'm getting that far to begin with.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_09]: And ran.

- 48:50[SPEAKER_11]: Well, Matt, you know, doors.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_11]: I had one put in the bar this year.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_11]: and uh... you know put a door with glass in it and a crash bar and do it accorded a code they already had a permit of course you don't have to be replacing a door but i you know i made sure it was fire safety and code and every people can get out if they had to play um... because you don't want to have a door where you lock with a deadbolt or something got people inside and they can't get out of the fire you saw the co-connect grow fire in nineteen forty two yet uh... uh... rock or canal he was supposed to be there that night
- 49:22[SPEAKER_09]: really yeah you played for the Boston Eagles and they lost that game it was homecoming weekend and he decided not to because he was destroyed over the loss and it that from that point going forward that's when they had doors going in the opposite direction mm-hmm yeah as a result of that that's amazing yeah it's amazing of course who could forget in 2003 when the 100 people died in Rhode Island and that they're great white concert great white Irma
- 49:49[SPEAKER_11]: Didn't they play in water channel?
- 49:50[SPEAKER_11]: They did.

- 50:20[SPEAKER_11]: I talked to, yeah, OK, yeah, because the Republicans were told not to come on this show.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_11]: They were?
- 50:26[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_11]: And I got that straight from the horse's mouth.

- 50:33[SPEAKER_10]: You actually had to go on his show.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_10]: Don't go on his show.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know what it is.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, not that the trouble is with most of these judge candidates.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_11]: What the hell do you talk about?
- 50:43[SPEAKER_11]: They won't talk about any pending cases or their opinion on topics or anything So all you end up where it's like their commercials they do they just have pictures their kids You know, these are my daughters cooking dinner.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_11]: Well, what's that got to do with the being in court?
- 50:58[SPEAKER_11]: You know Or the you know, we just had a radio commercial.
