- 0:02Speaker 1: Hi everybody, I'm so excited to join you today.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm here with Nathan Todd Everybody knows him as my road manager for Mrs Fawkes but today we're going to talk about five inspired co-snates.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, shelly, how are you?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Oh good.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Oh, you know, it's that time of the year and so this is kind of like the beginning of the year when everybody gets excited Like, hey, I'm going to start going to the gym.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Okay, I got you, but I wanted to do a different kind of weight uplift, a different kind of weight lift.
- 0:32Speaker 2: So you know, I'm here to talk to you today about the five inspired codes.
- 0:36Speaker 2: So thanks for having me.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So where did where did this come from?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Now, I know what five inspired codes is about and y'all everybody who's watching.
- 0:46Speaker 1: This is something that we definitely want you to get behind and participate and help help the folks in our community.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But for you, where did five inspired codes come from?
- 0:56Speaker 2: This kind of comes, like with the Jonah and the well, about two years ago something came to me and I came up with this idea of a company called Spoon Feed, because I feel like what I have, I'm going to spoon feed the people.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So I kept having this idea about going out and, like you know, creating like these bag lunches and giving them away to people, or even like with the like yeah, helping people in need.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But two years ago, someone else was like well, you need to create an org and you need to do this and do that.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So it just became very overwhelming and I didn't do anything with it.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So, like Jonah and the well, I went opposite of what I was being guided to do.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So, about maybe a month or two ago, I had this very vivid dream and it said you don't need to create an org, you just need to go out and do what I'm asking you to do.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And so it came to me.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It was like coats, because people who are on the street and everywhere out there is not necessarily in dire straits, but they're just they're out there, so they need coats.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And he has any gloves and he all these different things.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But what it can't, what had come to me in the dream was that you need to give, get a wear coat, but then you need to put $5 in one pocket and then put a note of inspiration in the other pocket.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And so what it means is that because often I've seen videos and I'll talk to a few people.
- 2:20Speaker 2: They always say people walk past us like we don't exist and they feel like God has forgotten them or they're not.
- 2:28Speaker 2: They're not seen.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So, to me, what I was told in the dream to do was the purpose of the five dollars was to put something in their hand, in their pocket, no matter what they use it for, to add, so that it can be added to whatever it is that they have.
- 2:42Speaker 2: But the note of inspiration was just to let them know that God has not forgotten them and that they are seen and they can be inspired at any point in time their life, just like at one point they may have had something in the day, they don't.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Tomorrow they can get it all back, and then so.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So, to me, I know a lot of people who do a lot of great things, but this five inspired coat thing, it just, like I said, was so, so visible and was just so clear.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And so I just got up the next day and I was like, ok, I know what I need to do.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I don't need it or I just need to start tapping into my network of people that I know.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And I went through my phone, which is like 269 contacts and everybody that I know that we're in Atlanta, even a few people outside of Atlanta.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I was like, hey, this is what I want you to do.
- 3:28Speaker 2: If you can help, great.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And I got an overwhelming response of people saying I got you, don't worry about it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: When do you need it?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Wow.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That's kind of where it came from, wow.
- 3:40Speaker 1: And you know.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think there's a couple of points I want to call out for.
- 3:42Speaker 1: First of all, it's you know Nate is delivering these coats.
- 3:46Speaker 1: There's not an organization behind taking your money, or you know you know right right, it is literally.
- 3:54Speaker 1: he is taking it to the people who need it and, irrespective of any other organization that's doing something to be all doing.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Keep rocking it, but he's, he's.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He's fulfilling a need that's in our community and I honor you for that.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And then the second thing is is how to get involved.
- 4:13Speaker 1: We're going to make sure we drop the email so that you can connect with Nate and you know coordinate so you can get your donations.
- 4:20Speaker 1: This is happening in Georgia, but y'all, you know y'all can, y'all can come on now.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Y'all can rock this from anywhere from anywhere.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Right Anywhere and and what I know?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Because, like I said, some people like well, you need to create an organization because of all the bureaucracy, but to me that's what stops a lot of the progress is because people get tired of I need to fill out this form and I need to fill out that form and that attacks right up.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I don't want to tax right up, I just want to receive the coats and, literally, like I said, you give me the item.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm driving through my neighborhood like Saturday I drove from Malo, I went to Malo, georgia, and I drove over from Buford Drive to Buford and I drove from Malo, georgia and Buford all the way.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I took Buford all the way into the city until Buford came to an end right there at Piedmont and then I turned around on Peachtree and came back up Buford.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I took the same route back and I gave away multiple coats just driving down these areas that I've driven a thousand times, but now I'm visibly looking for people.
- 5:25Speaker 2: As I see somebody hey, listen, you need a coat.
- 5:28Speaker 2: And some people were like no, I don't want anything.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And then I kind of explain to them what I'm doing and I'm like, hey, listen, I don't want anything, I just want you to have a coat.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I want you to receive this.
- 5:37Speaker 2: And then I always I make sure I tell them make sure you check the pockets for me, because there's something in it for you.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I don't wait till they open it, I just hand it to them and then I just keep moving down the street and and a few people go to, they hug me and they like they just want to talk because again now they feel like they've been seen and that kind of it brings a warm, a warm to me, and I'm like OK, this is what I'm supposed to be doing and, like I said, I have a lot of people who want to help and that's great and I really appreciate it.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And again it's just a matter of again I'm not looking for anything in particular.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Just, you have a coat or something that you want to conceive.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Some people like well, I don't have a coat, but I'll give you $20.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Ok, cool.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And what I've done is I've taken the 20s and I broke them down into fives and put them in the pockets.
- 6:27Speaker 2: That didn't have anything.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Or I've gone and bought skull caps or beanies and maybe a scarf to go with the coat.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That I have is a hat for you.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Here's a coat.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Just, I just want to make sure that people feel like they have something.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And, as I was explaining to my nephew, when you live in a house, everything goes by season Summer, winter, spring, fall when you're outside.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's all one season.
- 6:53Speaker 2: It may be 90 degrees in July, but in the evening it can drop down, it can rain, so you need a coat.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So these coats that I'm passing out on, that I'm repurposing.
- 7:05Speaker 2: They're going to help somebody throughout the year and not just for this winter, and so, like when someone actually do, you have a time period.
- 7:13Speaker 2: No, I don't, because people need coats, like they need food, throughout the year.
- 7:18Speaker 2: So if you call me in July, say I have coats, I'm going to come and meet you, get the coats and repurpose them out.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Wow, it's just that it has become, I guess I won't say I guess it has become my new purpose of something that I want to make sure.
- 7:33Speaker 2: They said my grandfather, these are always say leave the world a better place, nathan, than you found.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So that's what.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I'm trying to do.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And I believe Five Inspired Coats is going to do just that.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Y'all see why I wanted.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I wanted to have this special carve out to have this very exclusive, amazing conversation with Nate.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Five Inspired Coats.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Y'all will drop the connection information in the YouTube streets with this video.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Wherever I am, you can find Nate.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Wherever Nate is, you can find me.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Exactly but thank you so much for this opportunity and bless you for all that you're doing and y'all.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Please support the homeless work with Nate and donate what you can.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Five Inspired Coats.
- 8:18Speaker 1: We are so grateful.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah, no problem.
- 8:20Speaker 2: If people have something that they want to connect with me, to donate, they can email me at five with the word five.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So F-I-V-E, five inspired coats at Yahoocom.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So, I set up an email address just for this purpose and, like I said again, I'm receiving calls and donations.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I'm literally as they say, I'm out in these streets, I'm out here, but I'm out here with a purpose and it's, just like I said again, just to help any way that I can.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So and I'm also working.
- 8:50Speaker 2: One of my buddies he actually did create it or called Serial G, and so with them, you know, they have some different things coming up, like for Christmas, like a bike drive that they're giving back and they do a lot of different things.
- 9:04Speaker 2: So, you know, shout out to my man, curtis Simmons, with that.
- 9:06Speaker 2: But, like I said, I just want to help out as much as I can.
- 9:09Speaker 2: So thank you for having me on your platform today.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I really appreciate it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Y'all need to know that all proceeds, everything you donate, actually goes to the homeless.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We're not pocketing anything y'all.
- 9:20Speaker 1: So so you know, feel, feel free to give, freely, give y'all.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Thank you so much for watching and deuces.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Thank you.
