- 0:02Happy Wednesday morning everybody.
- 0:06It's a big day because we are going to park our truck and
- 0:12trailers inside the Dome for the Big Dome Racing weekend.
- 0:17People from all over the world, they'll be here because there's
- 0:24never been anything like it. 7-8 years ago, they said you're
- 0:29going to do what? We're going to race inside the
- 0:33Dome where the Rams used to play football.
- 0:37What is it seven years later, It's the biggest success in
- 0:41racing, hearing rumblings that they're going to have to open up
- 0:45the second ring of grandstands up top.
- 0:49That means we're going to start getting into the 2030 thousand
- 0:54range of people. The lower ring, you hear maybe
- 0:5715,000 people, whatever it is. But when you go up to the second
- 1:01ring, you know you have to open the second story of the Dome.
- 1:07Usually they have plastic all over the seats.
- 1:10That means it's big time. So the reason this race is such
- 1:15a success is because it's wild. It's it's it's the damnedest
- 1:21thing you've ever seen. It is.
- 1:23It's going to be on flow, the app, which is big.
- 1:27They have a record view. So we do know that.
- 1:31Like El Dora, you know, you know Kings Royal, you know, go to
- 1:37Knoxville, Volusia, We know that there are crown jewels in racing
- 1:43and the Dome is never a crown jewel because it's it's a
- 1:46theatrical race. You know, if you'll win it, it's
- 1:49a big deal. If you don't know.
- 1:51The joke going around is if I wreck my car, we're going to
- 1:55load it up and drink beer. But let me say this, I believe
- 1:59that the Dome is the biggest viewed race in America on flow
- 2:07for the year. I'm thinking respond right here
- 2:10if you agree, don't agree. And here's why.
- 2:13It's December. There's nothing to do.
- 2:16It's not going to get weathered out because it's in the Dome.
- 2:21Another thing that's pretty wild, 100, 100 and something I
- 2:28think 150 super late models entered and they only start 20
- 2:34or 18 so. So think about it but what's the
- 2:39percentage, what's the chance you even have of going to the A
- 2:42main. So although the A main is
- 2:45spectacular, it's it's really just the ending, right?
- 2:50Because it's it's all about the show.
- 2:53You know, you're qualifying your heat race, you're whatever.
- 2:58So once again, this event is something like no other.
- 3:02There's an old saying, we used to say it at Bristol for the
- 3:05NASCAR Cup race. Racing dirt inside the Dome is
- 3:11like flying fighter jets inside a gymnasium.
- 3:17It's insane. It's off the charts.
- 3:19So big weekend here in Saint Louis.
- 3:23Like anything, it's going to go by like that.
- 3:26So I'm going to try to soak it all in.
- 3:28We park today, on Wednesday, just get parked inside the
- 3:33Convention Center. Then when we go race, we take
- 3:38our race cars, we start them up, we go outside onto the city
- 3:42streets in Saint Louis, go down the city street that feels so
- 3:46weird. And then we drive into the Dome.
- 3:49So the Dome and the Convention Center are connected all right.
- 3:55One other piece of business. Pause.
- 4:02Went to the Saint Louis Blues game last night, Had a real good
- 4:06time with Gordy Gundaker, Nick Hoffman and a couple of Nick
- 4:12Hoffman's new crew members. I just got to know him.
- 4:15We had a really good time. The Blues lost six to four.
- 4:20But like one hour after the game, one hour after the game,
- 4:26they fire fire the legendary coach of the Blues, Barubi.
- 4:33They call him the Chief because he's a he's a tough looking man.
- 4:37The chief, he's the man. He brought our Blues their only
- 4:43Stanley Cup trophy. So therefore, he'll he'll always
- 4:47go down in Saint Louis history as the man.
- 4:52I'm going to skip to the good part.
- 4:55Like the song says, let's skip to the good part.
- 4:58Why they firing capital? WHY?
- 5:02Why did they fire Coach Barubi after being such a legend?
- 5:07Right, The only coach ever, you know, to win the Stanley Cup.
- 5:13And what a couple, three years later they fire him because you
- 5:18kind of take out the COVID years, right?
- 5:20There were two years there with the COVID stuff, just so really
- 5:25only like 2 years, 2-3 years removed and they fire the coach
- 5:28of the Saint Louis Blues. Let me go with this.
- 5:33I don't know what happened, but I I already know what happened
- 5:36because of my age. I'm 60 and I've seen the movie.
- 5:39I've seen the movie. It it's not about.
- 5:42It's not about losing and winning.
- 5:44You can. You can be a smart ass and all.
- 5:46It's all about losing and winning.
- 5:48No, it ain't. All it took was for coach to get
- 5:53in some type of debate with Doug Armstrong, who runs the team,
- 5:58not the owner, but runs it. And all it takes was Baru Baruvi
- 6:04to say I'm out of here. If you don't agree with the way
- 6:06I'm coaching this team, take it. And then.
- 6:09And then Armstrong probably said, well, that all right and
- 6:12hot heads. Hot heads, most likely an
- 6:19argument. Now what?
- 6:22These things never come out until years later.
- 6:25That's like when the Saint Louis Cardinals fired Schilt.
- 6:31It really never comes out. But the media ends up finding
- 6:34out, you know, it's like they said Schilt got fired.
- 6:38He was having success. We were doing good with the
- 6:40Cardinals, but they said he became hard to work with that he
- 6:45wanted things his way. Well, no kidding.
- 6:48You ever worked? Have you ever worked around
- 6:49Rusty Wallace? It was simple with Rusty.
- 6:53You just did what he said and you went to Victor Lane.
- 6:56So sometimes when people are good, they have a clear vision.
- 6:59Unfortunately out. Unfortunately, nowadays people
- 7:04want to know everything. What are we doing?
- 7:06You know, they want to be included in everything.
- 7:08Sometimes leaders like a like a bill bill check or a you know
- 7:14the the coach down there at you know Nick Saban down there at
- 7:19Alabama. You know when when you get
- 7:21coaches that are winners, you just go with them, you just go
- 7:25with them and you're going to win.
- 7:27But nowadays in this world where you know why, how come, why are
- 7:31you breathing? Well because you know.
- 7:33So I'm I'm sure that Barubi got fired because Armstrong and him
- 7:40came to some type of disagreement right after the
- 7:42game. It was it was a tough loss but
- 7:45it was a hell of a game. I believe we we pulled our
- 7:48goalie a little early, but that's just, that's just bench
- 7:52racing. That's just quarterback talk.
- 7:54Easy to say you know. So I'm going to clear it all up.
- 8:00I believe Chief was fired because he got into a pissing
- 8:05match right after the game with Armstrong over difference in the
- 8:10way to coach the team. However, I do not believe he was
- 8:16politely fired. Coach, we're going to relieve
- 8:19you of your duties. Thank you for your service.
- 8:21No. Anyone happened?
- 8:22There was a pissing match involved.
- 8:24Too abrupt. Too quick.
- 8:27An hour after. Again, now, they announced it
- 8:30one hour after the game, so it probably happened like minutes
- 8:33after the game. I respond right here.
- 8:36Tell me if you're going to the Dome and tell me why you think
- 8:40the Doug Armstrong fired our only Stanley Cup coach ever in
- 8:48the history of the Blues, All right?
