- 0:05Hi, I'm Pete Smith and this is Compass Point.
- 0:07Perhaps you're familiar with the parable of the sower.
- 0:10Mark 4 verse 3 says Hearken, behold, there went out of sower
- 0:14to sow. And verse 14, the sower soweth
- 0:17the word. It might be called the parable
- 0:19of the hearers who did not hear. The Son of God is the sower.
- 0:22The seed is the Word of God, which, like seed, has life in
- 0:25itself, and given proper conditions will spring up into
- 0:28life and bear fruit. Note the things that prevent
- 0:31hearing. They are the wayside, or
- 0:33carelessness and indifference, the Stony ground, or the
- 0:36purposeless and unpersevering mind and thorns, the love of
- 0:40pleasure and other indulgences. Such hearers never really hear.
- 0:44The truth stands no chance. In the first case, the birds
- 0:47devour it, in the second the sun scorches it, and in the third
- 0:51the thorns choke it. What's stopping you today from
- 0:54hearing God's voice?
