- 0:47SPEAKER_00: My name is Ashley, host of Sunshine and Bubbles, high vibrational podcast, where we talk about everything under the sun, including all of the plant magic, medicine, alternative healing, and of course, our dear Lord and Savior, sweet Jesus, as I'm on a spiritual journey and I feel so called and blessed to be able to share that with you here today on the ether waves.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for tuning in.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I have my faith rock here that I hold on to to give me strength.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: And on this rock, I say a little prayer, and I say, Dear Lord, let my words be your words.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Let my heart be like yours.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Let my mind be open to new ideas, thoughts, and be a conduit or channel for your goodness, a shining beacon of light, if you will.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: All for your glory, Lord, in Jesus' name.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: What a beautiful day to have such a beautiful day.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I was out running around today in this air quality.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: First of all, I stepped out the door out my door this morning to water my garden and let the dogs out.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: And I was like, whoo! My goodness! It was like stepping in right next to a campfire here in Wisconsin.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I'm in southeastern Wisconsin, and it was so crazy.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Yesterday we were out on the water, and it literally looked like a storm was rolling in.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: You could just like see the smoke and the smog just like just float in and cover the lake.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden it was just like boom, like it was there.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: It was heavy.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And you were just like, whoa, what just happened?
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And if anyone has been on the news lately or, you know, been outside, they'll be experiencing this smoke.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And it's being like felt across the nation because my sister-in-law is in town from Denver, Colorado, and she said she's been dealing with this poor air quality all summer long as she's getting hit with wildfires in steamboat and in Utah, too, is is you know, up in smoke.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And of course, you know, the whole East Coast has been having crazy wildfires, and now the fires from Canada is coming down into the U.S.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So it all depends on the weather and and you know the the wind and where it's all blowing.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Supposedly it's supposed to clear to tomorrow by noon here in southeastern Wisconsin.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And I pray that is true because it's kind of eerie and you just feel pretty helpless to for your air quality.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And it just really makes me think of people, you know, in the far-off other regions where, you know, they're focused on big industry and all their smog and their air quality that this just become part of their normal everyday life.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: And I guess I just have to be so grateful and bless up that this is not our normal and that we do have the clean, beautiful air that we normally breathe here in the United States and what a blessing that is.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And I was talking about it with my kids, you know, in the car, and my daughter is like, geez, like where where where are you most safe?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Like, should we just be staying inside today?
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Yeah, today is a day where you would stay inside your house close to the air purifier if you have one.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: That is for sure.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: But then you want to think like all the insulation is just like trapping like the stagnant air that's in there, and that's all trapped that we breathe, yes, every day, and you know, in a plastic bubble, if you will.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, I think the best place to be, honestly, would be the forest, right?
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: To be amongst the woods where they're constantly filtering out the air, there's the nature's air purifiers.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, maybe it's a good day to get deep, deep in the forest.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: But then I was out in the garden today, and boy, those deer flies were insane.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So I guess it's like the left server of two evils, but this air quality is absolutely insane.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: And I'm just saying a prayer that this will pass over and that this is doesn't stick around for too long with all these crazy wildfires.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And of course, be careful of what you're burning out there to because it has been so dry out.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So we're working with Mother Nature here and just trying to do our best.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: So I have a beautiful, wonderful plant ally that I wanted to talk about today that's gonna help us with this air quality.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: And I mean, what a beautiful testimony that Mother Nature always provides, right?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Like I've been walking around and seeing sweet, beautiful verbascum Thapsis that has been budding and blooming all over in the wild.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: She is abundant and she is the great, the grand, the wonderful, the super duber uber helpful, sweet mullion.
- 5:29unknown: Boop!
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Mully, and who's seen this all around?
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Who's seen this kind of like in the ditches or maybe like on the edge of a field or you know, really anywhere out of nature because this is one of the years where it is blooming so beautifully.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: It is a bi-annual, so it only blooms every other year, but it kind of a wild plant.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: She looks pretty interesting, is that she's got like this long, tall stalk here, and these itty bitty yellow flowers.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: And that these flowers are something so medicinal, so powerful that you could use in a tea and or a steam.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: You can in inhale the steam that comes from these flowers and the leaves too.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: But this this plant has so much lore around it, it's been around for centuries.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: And back in the day, settlers actually used to use it topically.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: They would put the leaves in their shoes and it would help keep it's like antibacterial, antimicrobial, so it helps keep from any disease or an infection coming from your foot and makes it a soft stepping stone.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Or hunters really like uh mullyon because these soft leaves make for a great natural toilet paper if you're in a pinch out in the wild because they are so soft.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: But I want to talk about this plant in the fact that it is really good for your breathing.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: So when you make a tea from this plant by either using these sweet little yellow flowers or the leaves, you would put all this freshness in a cup and then pour over some boiling water and let that steep for about 10 minutes.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Uh, but the trick is you have to strain it really good with the cheesecloth, preferably, or some other kind of strainer, because these little really fine little hairs in here can really tickle your throat, which is kind of counterintuitive as to why you're using it.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: So that's why you have to be just really good at straining it.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: But it is a demulsant.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: So it has this mucilangelous or like jelly kind of uh coating that will come from the leaves and that will coat your throat and kind of help everything become less sticky.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So when you're feeling like and you're breathing in all these smoky, dusty air particles that get kind of clogged down in there, this will help to kind of keep things moving and slippery.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: And it's also an expectorant.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: So the sapinins in this plant will actually help get loosen up that mucus and help you to get it out.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Because that's the thing.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: You don't want to keep like pushing it down, down, down.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: You do kind of want to cough that guitar, cough up that ooey-goooey sticky stuff and get that out.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: And that's your body's way of saying, like, help, we need to clear, clear the passageways here and breathe a little better.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: So this natural plant ally, verbascom Thapsis, can most definitely help you.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: And I just love that it's so accessible, it's just out there in the wild.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: And I was kind of out in there, out just walking the lining of our driveway, actually up to the farm.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: And I found I had to harvest all these beautiful mullion flowers, in which I'll just I have it in a paper blag, but I'll end up probably putting it on a paper towel and letting them dry or using them fresh in a tea.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And I'm telling you, these are just chalked full of the wonderful plant medicine.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And I will be having a beautiful, delicious mullyon tea this evening to kind of help me clear everything out.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: But it is, you know, since it's a valuable herb for coughs and guitar, it is a specific treatment for tracheitis and bronchitis.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: So keep this also in mind.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: You want to dry some for the winter.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: So when you're having those winter, the the winter colds and flus, this will really be a great ally then as well.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: And they, you know, make that infusion to reduce mucus formation and stimulate coughing, the coughing up of phlegm.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: So with this air quality, mully in.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: And most natural stores will have mullyon on hand, you know, already packaged up and ready to rock and roll for you to make.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: So if you don't have access to get out there and harvest it and forage for it yourself, it is very accessible.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Um, just a trip to your local organic food store away, I'm sure, or one of those natural specialty shops.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Uh, but nothing like getting it fresh, nothing like going out your back door and being able to just become familiar with this plant, become initiated with Mullian, as she truly is great, grand, and wonderful.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And I wanted to also say that the mucilage, flavonoids, the sapinins, and the volatile oil and tannins can also be good for, you know, steeped in oil and good for ear infections as well.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: So some people use mullion oil and drop it right in their ear when they have when it's getting dry in there as well, kind of using that demulcent and expectorant properties to loosen all that up and and help your ear heal as well.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: So I just love that this is out here and that it's considered plant magic.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: So if you have not familiar with this plant, become familiar with it.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I also love too that back so when it's all done flowering, and which the flowers are pretty tedious to go and and harvest because you really do have to go out to it, you know, every day or every other day, or whenever you get an opportunity, and like pick off each like individual little flower.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And they're tiny, right?
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: But they're small but mighty, so don't let their size fool you.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: And you're just kind of gonna pluck it off there, just like that, and let them dry out or use them fresh.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, but it's really rewarding and it's very useful.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And honestly, there is so much information and knowledge and lore about this plant.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: But when at the in come fall or autumn, when it becomes all dried, it become it's like a really thick, sturdy stalk.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: And back in the day, they and I'm sure still people do it now, and they make actually beautiful creations.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't say back in the day, like now, uh, people are dipping these into a wax and burning them as a natural torch because it's a slow burn.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: So that's pretty cool too.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: So way to utilize the entire plant throughout all the seasons.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: My goodness.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Just another testimony about how he always provides.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: So get out there and get after that mullion.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And or ask your neighbor if you need some.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: Holla, I got you.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: I just do really love, really love the plant and all the history and lore behind it.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: It's just the books are chalk full.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And I just wanted to share a little bit with you today as it being used as toilet papers and torches, but really the main reason why people use it, herbalists and beyond will use it, is for an expectorant to be able to get all of that, get up that mucus and guitar and all that ash that we're breathing in here with this air quality.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: So a testimony to the wonderful plant quality.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: And then a lot I noticed that as I was harvest harvesting mullyon, I was finding a lot of clover nearby, red clover.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And I loved, and that's also can sweeten up your tea and heighten the flavor profile there.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And red clover is also good for digestion and a variety of other uses as well that complement the mullyon really well.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: So between the two of them, man, you got yourself a super tea, and you'll be really drinking part of nature that you're supposed to in this season right now.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And I think it's kind of crazy too.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Like last year, right around the same time, we were dealing with the same issues with the wildfire fires.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: And so, not always is plant medicine is so abundant.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: So, another reminder to utilize when it's there now, because it won't always be there.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: And not to mention that if you don't utilize it when it's there, maybe it won't come back as bountiful or abundant the next year because these plants have energy and they're they're begging for you to have a relationship with them and and use them.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: So if you don't heed that calling, maybe it won't be there next time.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: So just saying, you know, if you if she always does provide, but you gotta you gotta be able to have the intuition and knowledge to utilize.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: And I also just love too that like don't take my word for it, you know, like there is so much information on this to be able to kind of research, discover for yourself how this plant can help you.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: So I would highly encourage you do that.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: And then you'll be so fascinated and awe and wonder of how Mother Nature always provides that you will want to share that with a friend.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: And then you guys can co-create something awesome together and maybe enjoy a wonderful cup of tea together.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't that be lovely?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And share your experience and how it can affect you because it's really awesome to, you know, know about the plant medicine, know that it exists, know that it's there, but it's like a whole nother meaning to be able to experience that for yourself and share it with our other earthly human beings.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: And so I think that's really special that we're we're though we're here to to be able to to learn and be in the moment with each other, and what a better way than over a nice, lovely cup of tea.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: And I know sometimes like people are probably like, tea, hot tea, when it's like a hundred degrees outside.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Will that make it iced?
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, you can brew the tea, get out all the actives, active constituents in there, all the goodness, all the the sapinins and the mucilage, and then you can put it over, let it cool down and put it over ice and enjoy it that way too.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: There is no wrong way, really, unless you don't strain it at all, and then you will get that tickle in your throat from the fine hairs on here, but mess around and find out, you know, like you won't know until you know.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: You can't know what you know until you until you know.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: If that makes sense.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: That is actually, I think I've mentioned that on this podcast here before.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: It's really been like my you'll see, you'll find that with me, I get like caught up on saying sometimes.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And like that has been my saying, like, until you can't know what you don't know, and until you know, then you know, you know?
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: That's kind of wild, but I love it.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: And so it just goes for everything in life, right?
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Like we're we're out here playing, discovering, learning, and exploring, and pushing ourselves a little bit and heeding the calling, and and we're just learning, and I feel like that's the wonderful human experience, and hopefully having a heck of a lot of fun along the way because that's what it's all about.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: That's why we're here, my goodness, in the thick of summer.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: We were out on the boat yesterday, and uh Danny, my husband, was working, and so I was the capitan of the taiga of our wake boat and taking the kids tubing, and that's like a big responsibility, right?
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: I also had five kids in tow, and one other adult, my friend Crystal, was with me.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: And so I was they're like non-stop tubing, like it's all these kids want to do.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And apparently I wasn't driving, right?
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Like I was, you know, I was whipping them a little hard.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: You know, these lake kids are built different, honestly.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: They're tough, they're they're strong and they're tough, and they're like ready for action, and you know, they're they're tough.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: And and I must uh you know lean into that because it was pretty quiet on the lake yesterday, especially after that smoke rolled.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: And I don't realize like why we were out there as long as we were, but what are you gonna do?
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, we're staying cool, that's for sure.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: And they were like not liking my driving, and they're like, Mom, I'm like, you can't, you gotta go faster or slow down, or you can't do this while there's people on the water.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: I'm like, excuse me, like I am doing my best over here, and like what the heck for them to talk to me that way.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like I should be getting nothing but mad love and respect from getting out there and taking them on the boat like that.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Like one day they will know what a big responsibility that is to be able to captain the ship and have everyone's lives in your hands and and make it a cool, easy, nice ride where people are having, where everyone is having fun.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: I love doing it, but that's why I'm waiting a little bit today to get back out there because I'm like, well, now they can realize like how like when they aren't on the lake and they aren't being able to do that, like they'll appreciate me a little bit more.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I want to know what other moms are out there in the thick of things with summer and what you're doing to stay sane.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Because it has been kind of wild out there.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're now we're getting to the halfway point where things are getting a little wonky.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: The rules are out the out the door, well, making their way out the door, and things are getting a little loose, but that's okay.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's nothing that a little gummy can't fix.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: I did eat a DNA hemp gummy yesterday, and it did seem to chill me out.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: I wasn't so like, dah, because there is, you know, the responsibility is real.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: And with the heat, too, I feel like everybody gets a little ornery out there or like a little short, you know, if you're not staying cool and you're just drip sweating standing there, because that's what it is was like.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: And so, boy, did that gummy help.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: So a shout out to the other kind of plant medicine that is out there to help just kind of bring you a little bit more balance, a little more at ease, a little more presence, because that's what these how these kids are living.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: They're just being super present.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: But I was very proud of myself for when they were starting to get ornery and little sassy with me.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I did not yell.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: I did not fight fight fire with fire.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: I just chose some consequences, right?
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: And all their tablets are taken away.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Now, if I could just only hide the remote really good where they can't find it.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: But I feel like that is kind of setting them back into the present moment too, and realize there is consequences for your actions.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: You can't, you know, I know I'm fun and I'm cool and we we have a good time most of the time, but you can't treat me like that or talk to me like that.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I demand some kind of respect.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: So just walking through that path right now.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: And so that's why I'm kind of giggling to myself, like hee hee hee, I'm not there to entertain them.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: And they're gonna have to entertain themselves because that's where I'm at with their ages right now.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Like they're old enough, and they're gonna totally have to entertain themselves because they don't have all their devices to do it for them.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: So take that, children.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Maybe think next time before you tell me how to drive.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Nobody likes the backseat driver, right?
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Like, you get in this wheel, you man the ship, you take over.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, rant over.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: I don't even know I got on that, but there it was.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's as crazy air quality.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: I also need some of that clover and cannabis to just like zet and chill me out a little bit.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: But I did want to talk a little bit about the homegrown music festival that was experienced last week's Saturday.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: I know I ended the last podcast talking about getting all the equipment ready and giving a shout out to J Bird for hooking it up with the equipment and having the faith and trust in me.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: And that little bit of encouragement went so far.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: And I want to let y'all know that it was, it turned out spectacular.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: My cup was overflowing with the glory and goodness that God so promises when you step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: It was really cool.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: I just kind of like took it step by step and and knew that I could do new things.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I could do hard things.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: And for me, it was hard when you're hooking up all the microphones and the speakers and wanting to make sure the feng shui and everything is looking super groovy and awesome because you want to create a vibe where people will attract you.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: And and it all came together so beautifully, and m all my Favorite people, or most of some of my favorite people, were there, and I just looked around with so much gratitude and so many blessings that were there the other day.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: It was kind of we started out with the kids, had no problem singing their songs and dancing and playing.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: They just took that microphone and were singing Baby Got Back and singing about Jesus.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: They were singing Forrest Frank and doing the dances with it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: They were singing, you know, some of like the I just I just lost it.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Some of like the Disney tunes.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: And I just love that they have no problem getting on that microphone and without any fear or, you know, they know or lack of worthiness or their confidence is just through the roof.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: And I was just cheering them on.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I'm like, yes.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: And it like really inspired me to get out there and do the same.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Like quit overthinking it, right?
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Like, it's never gonna be perfect.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: We're never gonna get it right.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: We're never gonna get it wrong.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: But with the fact is that we're in the arena doing the things.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: And so I just love watching their childlike awe and wonder as they just get out there and rocket and don't care who's watching or who's listening or what even, you know, what's being said.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: They just are feel they're just sharing the love and the goodness.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: And I just was like, yes, this is awesome.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: And so it started kind of as like a karaoke.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: So we had the iPad there, and you could play the songs.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: They were singing with it.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: And then me and my bestie Rachel got on there and I was picking up, picking out all these worship songs that I've learned from church and kind of singing about his graces and his goodness.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: And as people were walking by, I could see a lot of smiles, some thumbs up, people like cheering us on from afar.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: And, you know, of course, we got some crazy looks too.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Of people are like, what are they doing over there?
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Like, what's going on?
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: Because we had all these fun music instruments in front and you know, shaking and playing with the different instruments and creating new sounds.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: That was a lot of fun.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: And then out of nowhere, my sunshine shows up with her mom, sweet cupcake, is what we call her.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: And that just made my day.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: And you didn't have to ask Sunshine twice.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: She was back there playing the sound bowls, and eventually we also called my mom, who we call Lollipop, Miss Cheryl, up on the stage, and she sang some of her favorite oldies songs, Elvis and and uh I feel lucky.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, I feel lucky, yeah.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: No Professor Doom's gonna get in my way.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, I feel lucky today.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: And we were her backup singers and dancers behind her both Dragonfly Princess, Sunshine, and Bubbles.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: And we were like kind of you know, backup dancing to her, and she was singing the song.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: So that was the highlight for me is being the backup singer dancer for my mom.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: And I thought it was really cool to be able to share the stage and the mic with her because you could tell, like, as confident, as bold as she is, when she got done, she was like, I did it.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Yes, you did it, mama, you did it.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: And Rachel, too.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: You know, it took a lot for her to get up on the microphone and share her voice.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: And and she did it, and so did Sunshine.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: And then before you know it, we have a whole set list of songs that we're gonna sing for next time.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Are we creating a band right now?
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Like, is this all happening?
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Are we gonna, are we gonna go perform at other places?
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Well, we certainly could.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: We have all the equipment, we have all the know-how.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: But I liked kind of the fluidity of the the the set, if you will, and that we were just kind of exploring and catching a vibe and feeling it out and nothing, no pressure.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: And honestly, it was the perfect scenario to be able to do it because we were on a side stage, if you will.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: We were the side show and not the main show.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: So, you know, we didn't have a ton of eyes, you know, staring at us and being like, Well, what's going on?
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Or what are we gonna do next?
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: So we could kind of just float along and and do what we want when we want, how we want to do it.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: And that was, I feel like I love that the most.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, this is great, no pressure, you know, we don't have to dance monkey this, and it was all really, really good.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: So I just feel so good to be asked to be part of the homegrown music festival every single year.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: The fellas that put that on there and their love for mute local music is just radiates off of that whole scene, and and I just give them so much admiration and love and joy that they are able to share with the community there at Regnar Park and put that on every year because I know it takes a lot of effort, energy, and attention to be able to organize that.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: And I just have nothing but love for those, that crew that, you know, put a little piece of their soul into live music and keeping the live, the live collaboration going.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: And also, too, they're they're really big into the different libations and beverages that are there too.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: I know they partner with Fermentorium, which is a brewery in Cedarburg, and they do like a special can each year that, you know, with the with the art that is specific to homegrown, with the singing chicken there.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: And, you know, that's all designed by local people.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: And one of my one of my buds was doing a live art painting there, uh, with the homegrown singing chicken with America radiating colors all around it, and that was raffled off to the cause for for the local music.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: And also, he was selling his skateboards that he does art with Jeff Skomski, the dude skateboards.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: I'm probably gonna have him back on the podcast here pretty soon once things start winding down and we could etch out a date.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: And then also, too, they had these cigar box guitars that were there.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: And the guy that was selling those Mike was super awesome.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: I just loved his passion for music and wanting to share that with people.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: And there was other vendors there too, from you know, uh coffee vendors to food vendors.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: One of my old favorite bands, Living Dread, the band was all there and they were making tacos and sharing that with people and and being part of the music scene.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: And I was like, hey, like when are we having a Living Dread reunion?
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: I'm there.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Let's have it at Cheryl's Club 175.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Let me know I'm here for it.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: I can sing, I can do some singing.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: So shooting my shot there, why not?
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like I'm more than capable.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: But then it kind of got me to, you know, the fact that I am on the worship team at church and being part of that awesome band, if you will, where we are giving all of our glory to Jesus.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: And I love that's where I'm at right now.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And to be able to extend that out and share that on a stage out in nature was such a beautiful blessing.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And I love that that we're asked to do that every year and to kind of like keep leveling up, right?
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: And get like the music system and being able to do to you know, read Bible verses or you know, riff, you know, on a song and you know, throw out some bars, let's do a little freestyle.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: And then also, too, there was a couple a lot of, I would say a couple handfuls of singers that came up and did like karaoke style music and was able to sing their song and dance and share in that capacity too, was just really heartwarming.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: That was like, yeah, like the community, just come out and play and have fun because everybody's got a special song to share.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: And if you have the courage to do it, bring it.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Like I would I love holding that space for people to be able to get out there and shine their sweet light.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: And that just filled up, filled up my cup.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: And I can't wait to go back next year.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Hopefully it'll be a little cooler next year.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: But I love that the kids were also able to swim at the inflatable jump park that's in the in the Regnar Pond over there.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: That was really sweet too, because then they can keep cool and have a ton of fun over there.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: It's really affordable, and they just had the time of their life.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: They came back with a bunch of stories about the inflatable adventures and the kids that they met over there and the jumps that they did and how much air they got and you know, things that happened.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: So I think that's really cool that they have that safe space for kids to be able to be kids and play and have fun and and and do what kids do.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: And that I just really like that too.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: So that was super, super groovy.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: And what else do I got?
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, the Homegrown Music Festival.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: We got the beautiful mullion that I was looking at this book.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: I love this Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, another plug for this book.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: That's where I get a lot of some of my information when I don't want to do too deep of a dive because it just gives like the general overview.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: And also, I did want to, I was wanted to give a shout out to Gift Nook in Kewascum.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: Who has ever been to the Gift Nook in Kiwascum?
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: I know I'm like totally changing subject here, but I just love them.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: The every time I go there, it makes my day.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: And they're definitely part of the Hive Tribe, Hive Vibe tribe.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: And I was in, and they're in the local music scene as well.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Their son Isaac plays the drums and a bunch of other instruments, but I know it's like Passion is drums, and he plays in a local band that fills in from time to time, and he is playing at the Awasaki County Fair, and he's really excited about that.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: So a young budding local musician.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: But I stopped in there today to do a DNA hemp restock as they have been offering our DNA hemp products for years now.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: I would think, is it three years, four years?
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: It has been some time because they have a passion for the plant.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: They love hemp, and that's kind of what brought us together was sunshine.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Heard about, you know, their love for hemp and how it was helping their quality of life over there.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: As one of the owners has battled cancer, not one, but two times, and using that for the pain, inflammation, and balance in his life.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: But I don't want to get too much on his personal details, but she connected us through cannabis and they prov support a bunch of local vendors in the area, local creators, I should say.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: Because when you go in there, they have created a mystical, magical, wonderful, like little like tree, tree for hut.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Oh gosh, I'm not doing it justice at all.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: But I love the decorations.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: It's super creative.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: It almost feels like you're going into like a little forest fairyland, like a little wonder.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, they call it a wonderland.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: And they have so intentionally displayed all of the vendors' creations from sun catchers to chimes to uh crystals, bracelets, jewelry, candles, soap, wax, uh, tea blends, herbs, keychains, candy, you name it, uh, cards.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: You name it, they got it.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: It's just such a wonderful place to get a unique gift for yourself and for your loved ones.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: And I love that they support the plant magic and kind of go down that journey there, offer that as part of it too.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: But when I was there, uh Jay gave me such a wonderful compliment saying that the energy, it's all about the energy and that what did he say?
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: He said, I I was a shining beacon of light.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: And I just I was like, that just made my day, Jay.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: How sweet for you to see the light, hopefully the light of Jesus in me and sharing that out because that's where I give all the glory to.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: But I threw it right back at him, and I'm like, you know what?
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: You are a sweet, shining beacon of light as well, because I feel like his intentions are so good to be able to hold space in the community, a place where people can offer their creations, and he's really super family friendly where he wants to create a safe space for kids to hang out.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: And he also dropped a line and said that if I know any creators out there that are looking for a space for them to sell their creations, they are more than open and accepting for people to partake in this party.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: And so if there's anybody out there that has created something beautiful and magic, whether it be your artwork or you know, you know, you know, or your herbal magic or something that you've knitted or sewn or really anything that you've created with your hands working with the earth, bring it there.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: It is free to be able to sell your goods.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: They don't charge yourself space or anything like that, but they do have a percentage that they they use to help keep the doors open from the creation.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: So go and talk to Jay and Nikki and their son Isaac at the Gift Nook in Kewascum.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: They are super high vibrational beings, and I just love that every time I go there, he gives me a sweet compliment, a bit of encouragement, and says thank you.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: He's more than grateful to have cross paths with the DNA Hemp High Vibe tribe.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: And I am so internally grateful to have his family.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: Uh, Nikki, too, is just such a doll.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: And she's involved in theater as well, and she's a very good actress and she's really fun to watch.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: She's very animated and enthusiastic and ecstatic.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: And I just get such a good vibe whenever I'm near her, as she is just a shining beacon of light as well.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: So really good encouragement out there to get out there and be a shining beacon of light for your community in whatever capacity possible.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: We all have gifts, we all have, you know, positivity in us.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: It's a choice to have these good intentions and be of service.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: I feel like that has been coming through a lot for me lately, is how I can best be of service in this lifetime, bringing my what little gifts that I have to offer and leaving them at the cross, all for his glory and his goodness to people for people to be free and have fun and live in childlike wonder of his grace and goodness.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: And so I wanted to, I'm in Corinthians now in the Bible, as I have read through Romans again, and the next natural progression is Corinthians.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: And as I was reading this, I loved that in the first chapter of Corinthians, which it's all about love and higher power, it says, you know, Christ crucified is God's power and wisdom.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: And it says, for the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: So is the foo if if God was foolish in which he's not, it is still the wisest among all humans.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: So even when if God is foolish, make no mis he makes no mistakes, he's still wiser than than the most the most wise here of us humans.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: And the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Isn't that wild?
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: His foolishness is wiser than us, and the we if he was weak, it is still way stronger than any the the than the strongest human out there.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: And I feel like just let that sink in a little bit, right?
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: Of being like, whoa.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: This is the person, the God that we're serving, and this is the Jesus that we're talking about.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: And there is nothing to be scared of or ashamed or fearful when you're coming to Christ, because it is all good, it is the goodness of God, and that is part of the joy of being a Christian, knowing that you don't have to earn your way to heaven.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: There is nothing that you can say or do to mess it up.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: If you believe in God and in Jesus Christ that and our in your salvation, our salvation, that he offers us as a gift, you have a seat at the throne in heaven, royalty in heaven.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: A seat you are one of God's children, and he listens and he knows, and he's orchestrating such a wonderful life for both you and I.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm so blessed and lucky and grateful and joyous to be able to share that together here.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Thanks for listening on to this episode.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: It was really just like a kind of nudge of like, hey, go use that plant medicine, that mullyon.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: It's out there, it's gonna help with this crazy air quality.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: And I just wanted to bless up too that we don't have to live like this on a daily basis.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: That hopefully, as soon as this fog, this this fog and smoke, not fog, but smoke rolls in, the sooner it's gonna get out with it with the wonderful windbrush.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: So I just want to say a prayer for all the people out there that, you know, have trouble breathing as it is.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: May you find peace in your home and take a moment to slow down and unwind and have solace and know and trust in God that everything is going according to plan.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: And maybe it is the nudge to get out there and work with the plant allies to make yourself feel better and heal yourself.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: We've got a lot of healing to do, friends, and we can do it together in every capacity, and I'm here for it.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: So feel free to drop me a line, shoot me a DM, share with your friends, like, share, repost all of it.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you so, so much.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: And thanks for catching a vibe with me today here today.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: Again, my name is Ashley Amber, and I will see you next week.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Be here, be square, keep tuning on in and helping make a difference in this world.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: God bless ya.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: One love, one heart.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: Let's get together and feel all right.
