- 0:09Speaker 1: w R. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 0:14Speaker 1: John in Florida. John, how you doing?
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm morning Mark and Holidays. They should take that oil
- 0:20Speaker 2: and fill up the always at that.
- 0:22Speaker 3: They'll take the what.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You know from that the oil.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good idea. Throw it in the oil reserves.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And also about Martha Gradish strike news stations, these advertisements
- 0:37Speaker 2: and you cut these please people and start advertising with them,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and they will change their tune. You hit them in
- 0:42Speaker 2: the popabook. No they gotta change tool.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No they won't. They won't all they won't.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Okay, you know better, boy.
- 0:50Speaker 1: No they won't. For a second. They actually don't make
- 0:54Speaker 1: any money on the news or the Sunday shows. It's uh,
- 0:57Speaker 1: I mean, they sell commercials, but it's not a big
- 0:59Speaker 1: part of their revenue. It's just on principle they do it.
- 1:02Speaker 1: The Sunday show makes no money, it has no viewers,
- 1:05Speaker 1: but it's fake news and they love it. Let's go
- 1:08Speaker 1: to Kay in Manhattan, k how you doing.
- 1:13Speaker 3: High Mark?
- 1:14Speaker 4: I'd like what I'd like to say These voters who
- 1:16Speaker 4: are who are thinking about voting for Democrats because of
- 1:20Speaker 4: the economy. But they remind me of a woman who
- 1:24Speaker 4: has a boyfriend who batters her and abuses her, and
- 1:29Speaker 4: then she meets a really nice guy and he forgets
- 1:32Speaker 4: her birthday, so she goes back to the first guy.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Well, I can't even believe these people would think about
- 1:40Speaker 4: voting for Democrats after what this country has been through.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, it happens, It happens. Hey, they voted for mom Donnie.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Hey.
- 1:49Speaker 1: By the way, remember I was mentioned before. Nobody reads
- 1:52Speaker 1: the print edition of a newspaper. Nobody. It's tiny, the
- 1:56Speaker 1: circulation of a print edition. It's all subscriptions now, so
- 2:00Speaker 1: if you're the New York Times, all your money is
- 2:03Speaker 1: off subscriptions, twelve million subscribers.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Now.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Well, one thing that did is and they found, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 1: in the print edition is you turn the page as
- 2:11Speaker 1: a full page ad. Wow, you'd see this ad. What
- 2:14Speaker 1: they found with the people that read the paper online
- 2:17Speaker 1: is they don't pay any attention to the ads. They
- 2:18Speaker 1: don't even look at them, and they don't The only
- 2:21Speaker 1: way they make money is if you click on the ad. Well,
- 2:23Speaker 1: nobody clicks on the ads. Online on a newspaper. So
- 2:27Speaker 1: all the revenue is from the subscriptions now and not
- 2:31Speaker 1: from advertising. And that's one reason the New York Times
- 2:33Speaker 1: and other publications have been able to go crazy left wing,
- 2:38Speaker 1: totally slanted partisans, because they're no longer depending on advertising revenue.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So the New York Times, Washington Posts, they can go
- 2:45Speaker 1: totally nuts. All the money is subscriptions, no longer advertising.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You don't have to worry about advertiser backlash anymore if
- 2:52Speaker 1: you're a newspaper. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 2:55Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, I'm doing very well. Thank you. Mark.
- 3:00Speaker 3: A question about the autopen during the Biden administration, what
- 3:05Speaker 3: exactly will President and Trump do or has he done
- 3:08Speaker 3: regarding pardons?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Well, good question. He has said if it's an autopen pardon,
- 3:13Speaker 1: they're going to probably cancel it because it wasn't actually
- 3:16Speaker 1: signed by Biden and the technically the president has to
- 3:18Speaker 1: sign it. Apparently there is some way you can tell
- 3:21Speaker 1: if it was the autopen or a real signature. Let's
- 3:25Speaker 1: go to Joe in New York City. Joe, how you doing?
- 3:28Speaker 3: Those crazy sig Democrats saying jingle bells is racist? That's nonsense, Mark,
- 3:35Speaker 3: he went the Three Stooges did jingle Bells.
- 3:42Speaker 1: There you go. Well, I told you we have the
- 3:44Speaker 1: most incredible high end audience in the world. There are
- 3:47Speaker 1: some exceptions, there's a few. Now, what he's talking about
- 3:51Speaker 1: is this crazy Joy Reed, who got fired from MSNBC
- 3:56Speaker 1: yelling and screaming yesterday that jingle Bells is racist. Jingle
- 4:01Speaker 1: Bells is racist. I don't know what the hell she's
- 4:06Speaker 1: talking about. She claims it was written by a Confederate
- 4:08Speaker 1: soldier who wrote jingle Bells and he was making fun
- 4:11Speaker 1: of black people, and that it has its origins in
- 4:15Speaker 1: bigoted minstrel shows that were popular at the time. Well,
- 4:18Speaker 1: that doesn't make any sense. It was a song. But
- 4:21Speaker 1: Joy Reid claiming jingle Bells is racist. However, this makes
- 4:26Speaker 1: her look pretty hy critical. I found out she made
- 4:29Speaker 1: a recording of the song years ago. I found this
- 4:32Speaker 1: is Joy Reid singing jingle Bells. Pretty good, it's not bad. Actually,
- 4:43Speaker 1: let's go to Jeffrey and Queen's Jeffrey. How you doing, Yeah, Mark,
- 4:48Speaker 1: good morning? Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Listen to the single Affordability as well. I'll pay you
- 4:53Speaker 5: the truth. You go to like ten twenty different supermarkets
- 4:57Speaker 5: and you fished them up the pis, especially the ones
- 5:01Speaker 5: one by cats from the dds, thestids and the other ones.
- 5:05Speaker 5: The prices are through the roof.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Well. I always find the Gristitis prices are pretty good.
- 5:12Speaker 1: There's different supermarkets, but you got to remember you can't
- 5:15Speaker 1: compare like a Manhattan supermarket. If you really want to
- 5:19Speaker 1: test affordability, you got to get out of New York City.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Things cost a whole lot more in Manhattan because there's
- 5:25Speaker 1: all kinds of costs to a supermarket. They don't have
- 5:28Speaker 1: your things. You don't think about. You know, if you
- 5:30Speaker 1: run a supermarket, a million trucks have to show up
- 5:32Speaker 1: every day and deliver your food. So if you got
- 5:35Speaker 1: a supermarket in Long Island or in Westchester, you got
- 5:39Speaker 1: a big parking lot and the trucks come in and
- 5:41Speaker 1: deliver your food. If it's in Manhattan, the trucks have
- 5:44Speaker 1: to double park. They get ticketed like crazy. So if
- 5:47Speaker 1: you're a supermarket, you're paying like half a million a
- 5:50Speaker 1: year in parking tickets things like that, you're paying congestion
- 5:53Speaker 1: pricing to you're paying all kinds of taxes. So the
- 5:56Speaker 1: supermarket that brings up the price is paying millions in
- 6:01Speaker 1: expenses they wouldn't be paying if they were in the suburbs.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So again, something with gas, don't you know. Don't look
- 6:06Speaker 1: at a gas pump in New York City and think
- 6:08Speaker 1: that's the price around the country. It's not. Hey, when
- 6:11Speaker 1: we come back, one of the greatest economists in the world, Now,
- 6:14Speaker 1: what is the real story with affordability. We'll get to
- 6:17Speaker 1: that next Steve More, we hope coming up next on
- 6:20Speaker 1: seven to ten WR
