Santa Monica is ramping up police presence across the city’s most visited spots after a violent weekend that left one dead and another injured in separate shootings. Officers are now patrolling the pier, parks, beach, and downtown more aggressively, following a robbery-related shooting Sunday and an officer-involved incident Saturday. Authorities have arrested a suspect in the Sunday case but remain on the hunt for others. Body camera footage from the officer-involved shooting will be released soon.
