- 1:53Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, Beatrice, although I already have a
- 1:56Speaker 1: feeling what you're gonna say, But like, do you have
- 1:59Speaker 1: any take ways from this most recent episode of Sister Wives.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I just don't appreciate how warm and kind of loving
- 2:08Speaker 2: Janelle was with Cody during his apology, kind of was giving,
- 2:12Speaker 2: like if the Tables returned, Janelle would take him back.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That was my vibe. Well, how did that make you feel?
- 2:19Speaker 2: It made me mad? Why it made me mad? Because
- 2:22Speaker 2: I'm like, why, he's literally the worst and this is
- 2:24Speaker 2: just a performance for TLC. I don't think he means
- 2:28Speaker 2: much of it. I just didn't appreciate it. Okay, So
- 2:33Speaker 2: my takeaway is the complete opposite. I think bad.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and I really want if you guys are watching
- 2:37Speaker 1: on YouTube, for y'all to drop in in the comments
- 2:41Speaker 1: and give your opinion here, like who are you vibing
- 2:44Speaker 1: with in terms of opinions? Because for me, I thought
- 2:48Speaker 1: it was really sweet. I thought the entire exchange felt authentic.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Ew I thought Cody came across kind of heart felt
- 2:59Speaker 1: and like he was meaning what he was saying. Now, No,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm not, you know I'm not, But like, I couldn't
- 3:07Speaker 1: help but put myself into Janelle's position, because you know,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I've had a million husbands, and I can see one
- 3:14Speaker 1: of those men rolling up on me wanting to have
- 3:18Speaker 1: like one last discussion for closure. And I could see
- 3:22Speaker 1: myself in Janelle's position being very gracious and very warm,
- 3:29Speaker 1: irrespective of all the things that happened in my previous relationships,
- 3:33Speaker 1: because like, I'm not hung up about it. If anything,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I'm indifferent about it. But I don't want there to
- 3:39Speaker 1: be bad blood. So I could relate to Janelle. And
- 3:43Speaker 1: I know you said that there were a lot of
- 3:44Speaker 1: people out there on the internets who were saying that
- 3:48Speaker 1: Janelle was giving him heart eyes and goo gook gaga energy.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I didn't get that at all.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I just thought it was like two old lovers reconnecting,
- 3:58Speaker 1: talking it out and like just leaving on good terms.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Now does Cody deserve it?
- 4:02Speaker 2: No? He does not.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Is Cody toxic? Is Robin a demon?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yes? They are?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but in this moment, I don't know. I had
- 4:09Speaker 1: a little tear, like when he was like what when
- 4:11Speaker 1: he said we started in tenderness and sweetness. I swear
- 4:16Speaker 1: to god, there was a darn my shut because I
- 4:19Speaker 1: felt like he meant up, we will talk about it
- 4:23Speaker 1: when we get there. But what did you guys think?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Were you? Was he just lying?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Was Janelle just giving him the Google eyes? Or was
- 4:29Speaker 1: it like just a final goodbye, Like let's leave this
- 4:33Speaker 1: in a good place.
- 4:34Speaker 2: God, We're gonna have a lot to talk about. We're
- 4:37Speaker 2: gonna fight.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Okay, Well, then, without further ado, let's get into sister.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I have Season twenty, episode eleven and tattooed.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Used to be lovers? Oh God, which is basically the
- 4:48Speaker 2: theme of this whole episode. I mean, we start off
- 4:50Speaker 2: with Mary and her lesbian friend Hamber going to a
- 4:55Speaker 2: Vegas speed dating event, and honestly, like I was pretty
- 4:58Speaker 2: bored yeah watching this, because it's not like there was
- 5:01Speaker 2: much that came out of it. I mean, there's nobody
- 5:05Speaker 2: that Amber and Mary like at this speed dating event.
- 5:08Speaker 2: There's nobody that they think is attracted. Everybody was chopped there.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I mean everybody was sorry. They were also like a
- 5:15Speaker 2: lot of younger people, like it wasn't no offense, but
- 5:18Speaker 2: like there wasn't a lot of people in Mary's citizens
- 5:23Speaker 2: that you want to say, you citizen yet almost not
- 5:26Speaker 2: like me, right, no, you're in your thirties, that's right.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, there were just there weren't a lot
- 5:33Speaker 1: of contenders, yeah, in the group as.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Far as I could tell. And there wasn't much that
- 5:37Speaker 2: came out of this scene really with Mary and Amber.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I mean they kind of talked about, like Mary with
- 5:44Speaker 2: dating and how it's awkward, and I think she did
- 5:46Speaker 2: like some questionnaire and one of the questions was like,
- 5:49Speaker 2: do you like kinky sucks? And Mary's like no.
- 5:53Speaker 1: She seemed offended by the question, but then she said
- 5:56Speaker 1: it's not like I would know, yeah, I mean, which
- 5:58Speaker 1: is a callback, yeah to all of our discussions about
- 6:01Speaker 1: what kind of lover Cody Brown is, especially after reading Christine's.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Book, we know we ate shit.
- 6:06Speaker 1: He hates shit, So I don't think Mary has ever
- 6:09Speaker 1: had good sex, and I thought her friend, what's her name, Amber,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I thought Amber saying something like, well, if you had it,
- 6:16Speaker 1: then maybe you would rate it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, you just don't know. No, she does not know.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And we also know that Mary matched with Ron at
- 6:23Speaker 2: the previous speed dating event, so I think she's got
- 6:26Speaker 2: him on her mind. But she's also like looking for
- 6:29Speaker 2: other people, but there's not a lot of people here.
- 6:31Speaker 2: She talks about being picky, and she has a right
- 6:34Speaker 2: to be picky because you know, some man has to
- 6:38Speaker 2: be worthy of being in Mary Brown's presence.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Right, And she's not looking for the perfect human yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and just the perfect human for her, which is fair.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I don't know if that person exis. Yeah, I think
- 6:51Speaker 1: that Mary. I don't know if she's really doing this
- 6:55Speaker 1: dating thing for real. I'm wondering if it's a storyline
- 6:59Speaker 1: or just a story. But if she is looking for somebody,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I hope that she finds somebody who cherishes her, because
- 7:06Speaker 1: I truly don't think she knows what it's like to
- 7:08Speaker 1: be cherished and deeply loved.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I think once she gets into a relationship where she
- 7:13Speaker 1: has that, it's going to change her as a person,
- 7:16Speaker 1: like she doesn't even know what she needs, what to
- 7:18Speaker 1: ask for, but when she gets it, and I do
- 7:21Speaker 1: hope she does, like it's going to just blow her mind.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, And I do think at Mary's core, like that's
- 7:26Speaker 2: all she wants, yes, a lover, a friend to be
- 7:31Speaker 2: with forever. So I do hope she finds that because
- 7:33Speaker 2: maybe it will make her a better person and less mean.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But you know, well, when you get your back blown out,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I mean, it puts you in a good mood.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I'm just saying, oh yeah. And then there was like
- 7:46Speaker 2: a little conversation about flirting in polygamy with regards to
- 7:51Speaker 2: like flirting and dating, and we have that comment from
- 7:55Speaker 2: Robin being like, oh my god, I must be so
- 7:57Speaker 2: difficult to date nowadays. I feel so for people who
- 8:01Speaker 2: have to date nowadays.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I e.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Mary such a mean girl comment, very much so, like
- 8:07Speaker 2: when you're in a happy marriage, like whatever. But I
- 8:11Speaker 2: thought it was interesting that Mary was talking about like
- 8:14Speaker 2: how you shouldn't flirt at all in polygamy, and I'm like,
- 8:16Speaker 2: didn't you have a full fledged, like emotional affair with
- 8:21Speaker 2: somebody that you were flirting with online while in polygamy?
- 8:25Speaker 2: Like okay, yes, I just I can't. Right then we
- 8:29Speaker 2: have Christine and David playing pickleball. Girl, I am so
- 8:34Speaker 2: bored with these two.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I know this is just to set up this scene
- 8:40Speaker 1: where we talk about the fact that Cody wants to
- 8:43Speaker 1: come into town on his apology tour and discuss how
- 8:47Speaker 1: much Christine doesn't want to be a part of that.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But obviously she's gonna have to do it, because by
- 8:53Speaker 1: the end of the scene she's going to concede to it.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But I'm just like, oh my god, is there nothing
- 8:57Speaker 1: going on in your life that's fun. I know you've
- 9:01Speaker 1: got daughters who are pregnant. I know maybe Aspen doesn't
- 9:04Speaker 1: want to be on television, but like you got other
- 9:06Speaker 1: family members are There's the lawsuit we could be talking about.
- 9:10Speaker 1: We know you're suing Cody Brown.
- 9:11Speaker 2: But it's just like, okay, pickleball. I know we're gonna
- 9:14Speaker 2: do pickleball with David, and I'm just like, I can't
- 9:18Speaker 2: with pickleball because I feel like everybody in a certain
- 9:20Speaker 2: h demographic goes into playing pickleball. What My grandpa plays
- 9:26Speaker 2: pickleball and he's like super competitive with it, Like okay,
- 9:32Speaker 2: Like I texted him over Thanksgiving I'm like, what'd you
- 9:34Speaker 2: guys do? And he's like, I played pickleball. I'm funny.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just familiar with pickleball because like everybody in
- 9:43Speaker 1: the Real Housewives franchises start playing pickleball, especially like in
- 9:48Speaker 1: California or whatever.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Cringe, very cringe, but like whatever. I did appreciate Christine
- 9:58Speaker 2: talking about her suspicions with Cody and how she doesn't
- 10:01Speaker 2: know what his motive would be with the apology and
- 10:05Speaker 2: she can't trust him and she feels like he will
- 10:07Speaker 2: be mean. I also appreciated that David was advocating for
- 10:12Speaker 2: her to have healthy communication with him because she's got
- 10:15Speaker 2: kids with him, and so in order for him to
- 10:18Speaker 2: kind of bridge the gap, like Christine needs to be
- 10:20Speaker 2: able to talk with Cody cordially. So I do appreciate that.
- 10:25Speaker 2: But other than that, there's nothing else.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Here, Yes, and I think one like little nuance there was.
- 10:32Speaker 1: He also said something like, if you want your kids
- 10:36Speaker 1: to have a good relationship with him, then you should
- 10:38Speaker 1: probably have a good relationship with him, and I thought
- 10:41Speaker 1: that that was very enlightened. Yes, Like we are dealing
- 10:44Speaker 1: with Cody the Brown, right, We're dealing with an absolute asshole. Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: so who knows what's going to happen.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yes, And then we get to the actual apology with
- 10:54Speaker 2: Cody and Janelle. And so they go to some little
- 10:58Speaker 2: restaurant cantina. He pulls out her chair for her. He's
- 11:02Speaker 2: acting very nice, very cordial. He's a little nervous about
- 11:07Speaker 2: it because it's his first stop on this apology tour,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and he's got a lot to say. He's got a
- 11:12Speaker 2: list of what to apologize for. So what were your thoughts.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Well, I thought they were very mature in how they
- 11:21Speaker 1: handled it. I thought he came in with the right energy.
- 11:26Speaker 1: He's obviously trying to make amends. It feels like he
- 11:32Speaker 1: wants this to go. Well, I thought, what did he
- 11:35Speaker 1: say in specific? At the beginning, He's like, I want
- 11:38Speaker 1: to apologize, but I don't want to fight, Yes, which
- 11:41Speaker 1: to me kind of means I want to apologize, but
- 11:44Speaker 1: I don't want her to actually reply to that apology
- 11:47Speaker 1: retort in any way or take my inventory about all
- 11:50Speaker 1: the shit that I did wrong.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I just want her to say I forgive you, yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 2: and move on exact.
- 11:54Speaker 1: So like that's kind of that's kind of his position
- 11:57Speaker 1: going into it, which is Cody Brown. But I just
- 11:59Speaker 1: I thought, Janelle, Yeah, like I get it. I get
- 12:02Speaker 1: what you're saying. Like, Janelle, this man stole from the family.
- 12:07Speaker 1: But then then again, maybe you helped him to do that.
- 12:09Speaker 1: This man hurts your children, that this man is still
- 12:13Speaker 1: hurting your children in particular, this man is hurting Maddie,
- 12:18Speaker 1: who you live with, exactly. I was waiting during this
- 12:21Speaker 1: whole conversation, and I'm just gonna.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Jump all around kaya.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I was waiting for him to ask about Maddie that see,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and his grandkids and his family, mchalthe Tony, anybody else
- 12:34Speaker 1: but just Janelle. And maybe he did and maybe we
- 12:37Speaker 1: just didn't see it. But if I'm Janelle, that's gonna
- 12:41Speaker 1: hurt me knowing that you don't even give a shit
- 12:44Speaker 1: about my kids. And so in that regard, I was like, Jane,
- 12:48Speaker 1: what are you doing?
- 12:49Speaker 2: That was my thing? Okay, that was my thing? Like
- 12:51Speaker 2: that was exactly how I felt. I'm like, why aren't
- 12:53Speaker 2: you bringing up your kids like at all? Like why
- 12:55Speaker 2: aren't you talking about like well, Cody. I appreciate the apology,
- 12:58Speaker 2: which when it was about them, I could respect most
- 13:03Speaker 2: of it, and I could understand that this was like
- 13:05Speaker 2: a good conversation between two ex lovers and people who
- 13:09Speaker 2: have shared thirty plus years of their lives together. Like
- 13:12Speaker 2: I respect that part when it comes to Janelle and
- 13:15Speaker 2: her kids, like the fact that it wasn't really mentioned
- 13:18Speaker 2: at all, and Janelle wasn't talking to the fact that
- 13:22Speaker 2: Cody has no relationship with most of the older kids,
- 13:26Speaker 2: Like that bothered me a bit, because if Janelle wants
- 13:30Speaker 2: to claim that her kids are the most important to her,
- 13:34Speaker 2: I'm like, why isn't that at the forefront? Sure?
- 13:37Speaker 1: And then there's like the very important reality that Garrison
- 13:42Speaker 1: is no longer with us, and I can only put
- 13:45Speaker 1: myself into her situation. And if that were me and
- 13:50Speaker 1: my acts, and I know that my son called production
- 13:55Speaker 1: on the night of his passing and that he was
- 13:57Speaker 1: terribly upset, specifically about the show and his relationship with
- 14:03Speaker 1: his father, Like I would never want to see that
- 14:07Speaker 1: person again. And so I do admit I'm going back
- 14:10Speaker 1: and forth here with Janelle, but like maybe she understands
- 14:14Speaker 1: there's nothing she can do about that. I guess maybe
- 14:17Speaker 1: she's in her fifties and she's like, you know what,
- 14:19Speaker 1: this is still the father of my children, and I
- 14:23Speaker 1: still want to be able to go to a reunion
- 14:25Speaker 1: every year. I would love to be able to see
- 14:27Speaker 1: people and like not have it be a problem. And
- 14:29Speaker 1: so she's trying to do the best with what she's got.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I don't know. I didn't see google eyes, google eyes.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I didn't see hearts in her eyes.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I saw two kids remembering when they got married. I
- 14:45Speaker 1: thought it was so interesting hearing him talk about her
- 14:49Speaker 1: being unsafe in those first couple of years, because they're
- 14:53Speaker 1: talking about Mary bitch. They're talking specifically about how Mary
- 14:58Speaker 1: treated Janelle. At now entering into this relationship with Cody
- 15:02Speaker 1: and Mary thinking it's going to be so great being
- 15:05Speaker 1: very optimistic, like she's just converted from mainstream LDS and
- 15:09Speaker 1: to the AUB So she's got all these ideas about
- 15:12Speaker 1: what life's going to be like. And then she gets
- 15:14Speaker 1: into the trailer and Mary proceeds to start tearing her apart. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: like she can't have the things in the kitchen where
- 15:22Speaker 1: she wants them, she can't have a voice in the relationship.
- 15:25Speaker 1: And it sounds like Cody in this moment is acknowledging
- 15:28Speaker 1: like I kind of left you out to hang.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of. I saw obviously that it.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Was very difficult for you and I didn't have your back,
- 15:36Speaker 1: and so I did feel like they were going back
- 15:38Speaker 1: in time in those moments. I did too, and I
- 15:40Speaker 1: think Janelle really felt that and maybe even needed that
- 15:43Speaker 1: to continue healing. Now, Yeah, so I thought.
- 15:47Speaker 2: That was really great. I did two. I mean, I
- 15:49Speaker 2: did appreciate that. And he did say something to the
- 15:51Speaker 2: effect of like, if I had been better to you
- 15:54Speaker 2: in those early years, like maybe things would have been
- 15:57Speaker 2: easier on us, and Janelle echoes out and she's like,
- 15:59Speaker 2: you know, if you had had my back, you know,
- 16:02Speaker 2: we wouldn't have had so many problems, we wouldn't have
- 16:04Speaker 2: struggled so much in those earlier years. So like, I
- 16:06Speaker 2: did appreciate those moments. It's just hard for me to
- 16:09Speaker 2: see Cody say stuff like this and think that it's genuine,
- 16:14Speaker 2: like because Cody also made a comment saying something like, uh,
- 16:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry for being angry, but aren't you glad that
- 16:21Speaker 2: I was angry because actually was a good thing because
- 16:23Speaker 2: it means that I cared about you and I wasn't
- 16:25Speaker 2: apathetic to our relationship. And so it's like those little
- 16:28Speaker 2: comments where I'm like, it wasn't a good thing for
- 16:29Speaker 2: you to be angry. I don't care if that meant
- 16:31Speaker 2: that you cared. It wasn't good period, right like that,
- 16:35Speaker 2: you don't need to try and justify your anger here
- 16:37Speaker 2: and say that it was actually because I cared. It's
- 16:40Speaker 2: actually because I love you very much. That's why I
- 16:41Speaker 2: was spewing obscenities and being abusive and being abusive. You know.
- 16:46Speaker 2: It's like comments like that where I'm like, hmm, this
- 16:49Speaker 2: feels really rehearsed to me. On Cody's behalf, maybe there's
- 16:53Speaker 2: some nuggets of like authenticity.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I don't know. When he was on the couch and
- 16:57Speaker 1: he was talking about well, he was saying at the table,
- 17:01Speaker 1: like I wish we would have just preserved the little.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Bubble of us.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I wish we had just held that kind of sacred
- 17:08Speaker 1: for each other as opposed to like what he was doing.
- 17:11Speaker 1: And Janelle talked about this as well, which was a
- 17:13Speaker 1: focus on the family, right, like a focus on growing,
- 17:15Speaker 1: a focus on like all of the wives, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 1: as opposed to nurturing the relationships monogamously, because they talk
- 17:24Speaker 1: about that in the early season. They did they're polygamous,
- 17:27Speaker 1: but they're monogamous in their own relationships, like they're focusing
- 17:30Speaker 1: on that and building in those individual relationships. Well, that
- 17:33Speaker 1: wasn't happening right with Janelle, and I just really felt
- 17:36Speaker 1: for her as a young woman. I don't know, I
- 17:38Speaker 1: think she's a little older than Mary, so maybe she's
- 17:40Speaker 1: twenty four or whatever when she's marrying Cody Brown with
- 17:44Speaker 1: stars in her eyes, just to enter in like a
- 17:46Speaker 1: toxic and what sounds to be an abusive relationship. I
- 17:50Speaker 1: just when he was sitting on the couch and he
- 17:53Speaker 1: was like there was tenderness, you know, there was sweetness. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 1: there was always that with Janelle, like he was close
- 18:00Speaker 1: to tears. To me, that's authentic. I think two things
- 18:04Speaker 1: can be true at once. I think he can be
- 18:06Speaker 1: an absolute asshole. I think he can be narcissistic, but
- 18:10Speaker 1: I think there's a part of him that can also
- 18:14Speaker 1: access real feelings and some clarity sometimes, especially when he
- 18:18Speaker 1: feels safe, when he feels like he's not going to
- 18:22Speaker 1: be attacked if he's vulnerable. And that's what Janelle gave
- 18:26Speaker 1: him in that moment, like I'm not here to attack you,
- 18:27Speaker 1: Like I don't care enough to attack you right now.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm just here to see what you're here to tell me.
- 18:33Speaker 1: And so it was safe enough for him to say
- 18:36Speaker 1: more and apologize and maybe even go deeper.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I could see that, and I mean, I will say,
- 18:42Speaker 2: during this whole conversation between the two of them, I
- 18:45Speaker 2: did feel like Janelle probably was his favorite until Robin
- 18:49Speaker 2: came along. I feel like he was the most amiable
- 18:53Speaker 2: with her. I feel like even some people debate on
- 18:56Speaker 2: whether or not like him and Janelle had this like
- 19:00Speaker 2: crazy sexual romance or whatever, but I feel like at
- 19:02Speaker 2: the baseline they were best friends. Like they had a
- 19:06Speaker 2: good system going, Like they communicated pretty well with each other.
- 19:10Speaker 2: She wasn't always well I don't know, I don't know
- 19:13Speaker 2: the earlier years, but like she wasn't as volatile as
- 19:15Speaker 2: like somebody like Mary or even Christine, who is a
- 19:18Speaker 2: bit hot headed and a bit annoying. So like I
- 19:22Speaker 2: could see the connection between the two of them, what
- 19:25Speaker 2: they had, and I did appreciate it at the end
- 19:27Speaker 2: of it, like Janelle's saying something like yeah, like I'm
- 19:30Speaker 2: gonna be nice to him because we shared thirty years together,
- 19:34Speaker 2: Like this is somebody that I shared so much of
- 19:36Speaker 2: my life with, Like we have all these children together,
- 19:38Speaker 2: Like of course, it's nice to have this conversation. I'm
- 19:42Speaker 2: gonna be cordial and I'm going to take it at
- 19:44Speaker 2: face value. I don't know. I just felt like she
- 19:47Speaker 2: was being a little too nice though, with everything that
- 19:49Speaker 2: went on, with everything that was said.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But if she had started arguing, how would have that
- 19:55Speaker 1: changed the tone of the conversation And like, how would
- 19:57Speaker 1: that disturbed her if she started saying, Okay, but what
- 20:00Speaker 1: about X Y. And See, he doesn't have the capacity
- 20:04Speaker 1: to deal with it. He doesn't have the capacity to
- 20:07Speaker 1: acknowledge his part in anything other than what he has
- 20:11Speaker 1: taken the time, Like he has rehearsed this, he has
- 20:14Speaker 1: taken the time to think about what he can apologize
- 20:16Speaker 1: for that might be meaningful, like anything else that she
- 20:19Speaker 1: might want to talk about, he's not ready to hear.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So why would she do that?
- 20:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it just would have been nice if she could
- 20:25Speaker 2: have spoke to that a little bit, like even in
- 20:27Speaker 2: her interstitial and been like, you know, there was still
- 20:29Speaker 2: a lot of hurd or blah blah blah, Like she
- 20:31Speaker 2: just kind of glossed over like the the Cody like
- 20:35Speaker 2: fucking up his relationships with his kids, Like she just
- 20:37Speaker 2: kind of was like, well, yeah, it is what it
- 20:39Speaker 2: is like and he'll have to do the work for that.
- 20:41Speaker 1: She seems dissociated to me something. Yeah, sometimes she just
- 20:44Speaker 1: doesn't seem tethered, Yeah, one hundred percent to earth reality.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Very disconnects, like I'm just gonna do whatever I need
- 20:52Speaker 2: to do to get my money from Coyote Pass and
- 20:54Speaker 2: build my flower farm, and it just don't fuck with me.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Like that's where I feel like she's coming a lot
- 21:00Speaker 2: of the times, and that's what's annoying to me, Like
- 21:02Speaker 2: it'd be nice if she could talk about some of
- 21:04Speaker 2: her deeper feelings, like and how she feels with how
- 21:07Speaker 2: Cody treated her children, Like if that was so important
- 21:10Speaker 2: to you, Like why don't you articulate that, because like
- 21:12Speaker 2: you have Christine saying shit like that, like, well, why
- 21:16Speaker 2: doesn't Cody extend the olive branch to his kids first
- 21:19Speaker 2: before us? Like why is he focusing on us first
- 21:22Speaker 2: and not his children?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Like at least she's articulating it, right.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So I don't know that was just my only qualm
- 21:28Speaker 2: with it, But I do see your perspective too, like,
- 21:30Speaker 2: and I do understand and I appreciate that this was
- 21:33Speaker 2: a conversation between two people that were together for thirty years.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And I have a total like they have a history.
- 21:39Speaker 1: They have such a history, they have a timeline together.
- 21:42Speaker 1: If we were to guess what Janelle's astrological moon was,
- 21:46Speaker 1: what would we say? Probably Taurus moon. I was thinking
- 21:50Speaker 1: Taurus or Virgo. Yeah, Like she's not emotive. She has
- 21:54Speaker 1: a hard time not just connecting to her emotions, but
- 21:58Speaker 1: like being in the expression of those emotions. It feels
- 22:01Speaker 1: like she just tamps things down so subdued as long
- 22:05Speaker 1: as she can, like if forty or fifty percent of
- 22:07Speaker 1: her can operate and get the shit done, Like she's
- 22:09Speaker 1: gonna stay in that fifty percent and not have to
- 22:11Speaker 1: ever go into the shadow or all the hurt parts.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Because it's too uncomfortable. Yes, and that's what's frustrating for
- 22:17Speaker 2: me as somebody who is the total opposite. I'm aries
- 22:20Speaker 2: moved right, I'm gonna just want to explosive, I'm gonna fight, right,
- 22:23Speaker 2: And I'm like, I'm very like if I'm gonna be emotional,
- 22:26Speaker 2: it's always anger first, Like it's always me being frustrated
- 22:30Speaker 2: and then I'll cry about it. And I just wish
- 22:32Speaker 2: we could see Janelle be like that a little. She's
- 22:34Speaker 2: so closed off. Talk about walls up. Yeah, she really
- 22:38Speaker 2: does have the walls up straight up all the time.
- 22:40Speaker 1: But it also kind of gives the moment she does
- 22:44Speaker 1: get into that lower fifty percent run for your life
- 22:49Speaker 1: straight up because she's maybe a Taurus or a Virgo
- 22:51Speaker 1: even worse, I think she's gonna blow and it's gonna
- 22:54Speaker 1: be bad. Yeah, I mean, can you imagine everything she's
- 22:57Speaker 1: holding in, especially after losing her son, and especially after
- 23:03Speaker 1: listening to and watching all of the terrible, despicable things
- 23:08Speaker 1: her ex husband said about her son, Yeah, her other
- 23:11Speaker 1: kids and her Yeah, and that's the thing.
- 23:14Speaker 2: It's like, where's your rage? Like, where is your upset?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Where's your collie moth? Yes? I want to see some
- 23:20Speaker 2: of that. It's like, you're so cordial to somebody who
- 23:23Speaker 2: was so bucking awful to not only you and Christina
- 23:27Speaker 2: and Mary, but like to your children and to one
- 23:30Speaker 2: of your sons who's no longer here.
- 23:32Speaker 1: But she's just trying to be alive on the planet,
- 23:34Speaker 1: in a stable place, inside of her body whatever, and
- 23:37Speaker 1: this is how she's going to get there. Well, it's
- 23:40Speaker 1: just what I think it is.
- 23:41Speaker 2: But how how stable can you be if you're not
- 23:43Speaker 2: acknowledging your shadow? You have to integrate it, right.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yes, you have to become conscious to the subconscious, absolutely,
- 23:50Speaker 1: come on. But I mean she's just not there. And again,
- 23:52Speaker 1: this kind of goes back to our initial premise. These
- 23:55Speaker 1: people are dumb, yeah, and not just intellectually but also emotionally.
- 24:01Speaker 1: They don't have a lot of that. But like in
- 24:02Speaker 1: this one scene and the cantina in North Carolina, I
- 24:06Speaker 1: felt like they were in their dumb way, in a dumb,
- 24:09Speaker 1: dumb way, they were trying to make that emotional connection
- 24:12Speaker 1: and I could feel that, and I thought it was
- 24:16Speaker 1: kind of sweet.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I did. I'm sorry I did. Yeah, I mean I
- 24:20Speaker 2: can see I can see a little bit.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Of it, Okay, a little bit of it. Yeah, No,
- 24:23Speaker 1: did I want her to take out a fucking samurai
- 24:26Speaker 1: sword and shove it in?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, of course.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Do I want to see like her articulate all the
- 24:33Speaker 1: things we've been feeling. Absolutely, But she's not going to
- 24:36Speaker 1: be the one. No, it's going to be Merry. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: know it's going to be Mary at the picnic table
- 24:40Speaker 1: in the final stop on the Apology tour, and Cody
- 24:44Speaker 1: is already anticipating that it's going to be bad and
- 24:46Speaker 1: it's going to be.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Bad well and like No Wonder, just to throw Cody
- 24:50Speaker 2: a bone, Like No Wonder, he started with Jane first
- 24:52Speaker 2: because she is going to be the most tame, docile
- 24:57Speaker 2: wife to apologize to, whereas like Christine's probably going to
- 25:00Speaker 2: have some attitude, Mary's definitely going to have some attitude
- 25:03Speaker 2: and it's not going to be pretty. That's why Cody's
- 25:06Speaker 2: not taking her to dinner and he's like, let's just
- 25:08Speaker 2: go meet on a park bench, right, you know. But
- 25:11Speaker 2: I did appreciate the last thing in this conversation was
- 25:14Speaker 2: like when they were talking about Cody not loving her
- 25:18Speaker 2: or saying that he didn't love her. I appreciated him
- 25:21Speaker 2: apologizing for that. I know we're going to see him
- 25:23Speaker 2: say that though for every single wife, and so it's
- 25:26Speaker 2: going to be very rehearsed. But I did think he
- 25:29Speaker 2: meant it with Janelle, and I did like that. Janelle
- 25:32Speaker 2: was like, yeah, like I know that you love me.
- 25:34Speaker 2: I mean, how could she not hello.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Like America New Yeah, the world knew.
- 25:38Speaker 2: We knew. So I did appreciate that and I could
- 25:41Speaker 2: see that in their relationship, like even in the earlier years,
- 25:45Speaker 2: I'm sure codyum Janelle making Asten remember from Christine's book.
- 25:51Speaker 1: She's like, I heard him in Mary's room and Jane
- 25:54Speaker 1: getting down, and then I heard him in Janelle's room,
- 25:57Speaker 1: and I heard what they were all doing, and so
- 25:58Speaker 1: I was expecting a little bit.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Of that in my room.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And then he'd come in my room and I couldn't
- 26:03Speaker 1: even take off my Mormon underwear because he couldn't stand
- 26:06Speaker 1: to touch me. I shouldn't laugh, but I mean, I
- 26:08Speaker 1: think she was probably hearing Janelle and Cody getting down.
- 26:12Speaker 2: That's what I'm now.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I do want to ask you what did we think
- 26:15Speaker 1: of Robin's little cut in during the whole Janelle and
- 26:20Speaker 1: Cody of it all when the producer asks her like, well,
- 26:23Speaker 1: if one of these wives wanted to come back into
- 26:26Speaker 1: the family, what would you do?
- 26:28Speaker 2: Oh god, it was so great because Robin was totally
- 26:32Speaker 2: caught off guard. She was like, I don't think she
- 26:33Speaker 2: expected the producers to ask her that in a million years.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And I feel like we started to see a genuine
- 26:39Speaker 2: reaction from her where it was like, the fuck that
- 26:43Speaker 2: was her reaction to me? In my opinion, yes, and
- 26:46Speaker 2: then she totally went back to no, I'm sad though, Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 2: I'm afraid I'm gonna cry. You gave me a little
- 26:53Speaker 2: kernel of hope, and now like I'm gonna be thinking
- 26:55Speaker 2: about that because like I'm just like, so hope is.
- 26:57Speaker 1: So dangerous, so dangerous for me to hope that my
- 27:00Speaker 1: family will come back to me.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Oh.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I did see it though in the beginning, like when
- 27:05Speaker 1: she actually laughed, and she's just like, I don't think
- 27:07Speaker 1: that's gonna happen, nor do I want it to happen
- 27:10Speaker 1: that in fact, I orchestrated this so that this would
- 27:13Speaker 1: never happen again and I could have everything. Like, I
- 27:16Speaker 1: just thought she came off badly in that commentary. I
- 27:20Speaker 1: did not believe her, and I said audibly out loud
- 27:23Speaker 1: in my living room alone, like a loser.
- 27:25Speaker 2: You're a liar, Robit. She is a liar. The devil
- 27:28Speaker 2: is a liar, Robin. I was laughing when I watched that.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, the mask is off a little bit.
- 27:35Speaker 1: She's crystallizing into her ultimate form, which is just a
- 27:39Speaker 1: negative goblin demon.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yes, I saw like a Reddit post. I should have
- 27:43Speaker 2: saved it, but it was really long. Somebody said on
- 27:46Speaker 2: Reddit that they think that Cody and Robin will fall
- 27:50Speaker 2: out and that Cody and Janelle will get back together.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I could kind of see it, I mean, can't you.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I could kind of see it. I mean with how
- 27:57Speaker 2: negative and ugly rob it has become what was the
- 28:00Speaker 2: second one?
- 28:02Speaker 1: Oh no, don't say that ugly in her spirithood, her
- 28:06Speaker 1: spirit spirit's kind of negative.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Also in her physicality. No, you can't say that. I can't.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But no, she when I say she's crystallizing, like she
- 28:15Speaker 1: that everything is just you pushed out, as the Goddard said,
- 28:18Speaker 1: and like so her physicality is her just pushed out.
- 28:21Speaker 1: She doesn't seem like a happy person. She seems like
- 28:24Speaker 1: a very conniving person. But then you pan over to
- 28:27Speaker 1: Janelle and she's got lightness and golden and she's smiling,
- 28:31Speaker 1: and she's in that energy of acceptance and a little
- 28:35Speaker 1: bit of love, and like for a guy like Cody,
- 28:38Speaker 1: at some point he might want to compare and contrast,
- 28:40Speaker 1: because now that Robin Scott you all to herself.
- 28:44Speaker 2: And she's a bitter old bitch and you're gonna feel
- 28:46Speaker 2: the full weight of that.
- 28:47Speaker 1: And she's going to keep buying those dolls, honey, She's
- 28:51Speaker 1: gonna keep building that Dickensiean village and buying those amethysts
- 28:55Speaker 1: Crystal Towers, you be running out of money. Of course
- 28:59Speaker 1: I checked the writing. Yeah, every week religiously, I check
- 29:03Speaker 1: the ratings. And for the last few weeks they've been
- 29:06Speaker 1: holding steady and or they've been kind of increasing a
- 29:10Speaker 1: little bit. I think two weeks ago we had about
- 29:13Speaker 1: a million seventy whatever, like a million viewers, but this
- 29:19Speaker 1: week they were down almost twenty percent. I think people
- 29:24Speaker 1: are getting bored. Well, I mean, I think people were
- 29:26Speaker 1: help hoping that there would be just a little bit
- 29:29Speaker 1: more reckoning. Yeah, drama, something with Cody and Robin, somebody
- 29:37Speaker 1: taking them to task, But it's nothing like that. It's
- 29:40Speaker 1: pickleball and speed dating and flower farms and Cody and
- 29:46Speaker 1: Robin in their new home.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yep, and then this stupid apology tour that we're gonna
- 29:50Speaker 2: have to watch every week. Like next week is going
- 29:52Speaker 2: to be Christine. We got it that was gonna be married.
- 29:54Speaker 2: But I mean it's kind of awesome.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I mean, because I do want to see him sitting
- 29:58Speaker 1: across from Christine and David and David who I think
- 30:01Speaker 1: he's just gonna be like, yo, bro hud do it.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I don't think I think it's gonna be a nothing burger.
- 30:05Speaker 1: But doesn't Cody also apologize to Christine for saying in
- 30:10Speaker 1: the book that.
- 30:10Speaker 2: He was repulsed by her. I don't know. I think so.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I think I saw that in one of the previewser
- 30:15Speaker 1: on my Instagram timeline. He's gonna say, I want to
- 30:18Speaker 1: apologize for saying you were unattractive and I thought you
- 30:20Speaker 1: were disgusting, and she's gonna get mad.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I hope so he brings it up. I fucking hope so,
- 30:26Speaker 2: because we know that's fake.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I if he was making her have sex with
- 30:31Speaker 1: him with her full Mormon holy garments on mean or
- 30:35Speaker 1: lingerie she said, which was probably a full on nightgown.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yep, he was repulsed by her, Yes, from the get go.
- 30:42Speaker 2: If he actually says that, I will not believe it. No,
- 30:45Speaker 2: And that's that's the thing. It's like, I just can't
- 30:47Speaker 2: I take everything, Cody Brown says with a grain of salt.
- 30:50Speaker 2: So like maybe there's some maybe there's some real emotion
- 30:54Speaker 2: deep down in his cold, dead, black, rutting heart. But
- 30:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I guess we'll see. I guess we
- 31:00Speaker 2: will see.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm kind of looking forward to it, and I'm
- 31:02Speaker 1: definitely looking forward to his conversation with Mary. That's what
- 31:06Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to, a little bit of a fight
- 31:08Speaker 1: me too.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Somebody give me the drawma, Somebody call him out seriously.
- 31:13Speaker 2: And then really the only other thing that was in
- 31:15Speaker 2: this episode was just like a little brief scene with
- 31:18Speaker 2: Mary and her friend Amber going to Gene, and this
- 31:22Speaker 2: was Sad telling Jen that they're going to host a
- 31:25Speaker 2: fundraiser for Jen's husband, who is currently going through cancer
- 31:29Speaker 2: treatment and he's got gnarly cancer. He's got sarcoma, which
- 31:33Speaker 2: is like a really fucked up, terrible cancer, so on
- 31:37Speaker 2: his leg or something. Yes, And usually with sarcoma's like
- 31:39Speaker 2: you have to ampute and like because they're really gnarly,
- 31:42Speaker 2: so in your bone or something, or it's like soft
- 31:44Speaker 2: tissue so it's like muscule and it'll infect everything. It's bad.
- 31:48Speaker 2: So I didn't know that. Yeah, So it's really nice
- 31:52Speaker 2: that Mary is doing this fundraiser and that they're doing
- 31:55Speaker 2: this for Gen. They're gonna support not only her husband
- 31:58Speaker 2: but like their bike shop and everything. So I do
- 32:00Speaker 2: look forward to seeing that. I have nothing bad to
- 32:02Speaker 2: say about it. I feel bad for Jenn and her husband,
- 32:05Speaker 2: and I pray for them. I pray for them as well.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I hope he gets better. Yes, he feels one hundred
- 32:10Speaker 2: percent yes. And then we have the preview okay for
- 32:14Speaker 2: next week because this episode was I mean, there wasn't
- 32:16Speaker 2: much now here but preview. We have Jenelle's friends asking
- 32:22Speaker 2: her if she'll ever get back together with Cody, and
- 32:25Speaker 2: Janelle says some fuck shit like, well, yeah, there was
- 32:27Speaker 2: a time where I thought, like what if, like things
- 32:30Speaker 2: would get better and she said that, yes.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Oh, I thought I just saw her kind of say
- 32:36Speaker 1: nothing at the table with her friends. No, she said
- 32:38Speaker 1: that in her interestition, I just figured it was going
- 32:40Speaker 1: to be a nothing burger where she says absolutely not.
- 32:43Speaker 2: No, she says there was a time where I thought,
- 32:46Speaker 2: what if. I hope that the rest of that clip
- 32:49Speaker 2: is her saying but right now absolutely not right me too,
- 32:52Speaker 2: I think it will be I hope so because I'm
- 32:54Speaker 2: like Janelle, please steep lower, please. Then we have the
- 32:59Speaker 2: fun Mary is hosting for Jen's husband, and we have
- 33:03Speaker 2: her boyfriend run. I show up.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Metrosexual Ron from Salt Lake City. It's got like another
- 33:11Speaker 1: residence in Florida or something, so he's got some money
- 33:15Speaker 1: so he could take care of our girl Mary.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I hope he's not like a TLC plant, because it
- 33:20Speaker 2: would be cool if, like, at the end of the season,
- 33:22Speaker 2: Mary's like, oh, yeah, I me and Ron are actually dating.
- 33:25Speaker 2: We're an item. Like that'd be great, that would be
- 33:27Speaker 2: But I don't think it'll happen. Yeah, I kind of
- 33:29Speaker 2: doubt it.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I feel like she needs a really manly man. Yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think she's looking for that. She wants a tall,
- 33:34Speaker 1: madly kind of guy.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you've been saying that.
- 33:37Speaker 1: At the beginning.
- 33:38Speaker 2: It's on the vision board.
- 33:39Speaker 1: You can see her on the bitch seat on the
- 33:41Speaker 1: back of a Harley in the mountains with the big
- 33:43Speaker 1: Burley man with the beard, yep, or a woman or
- 33:46Speaker 1: a but or amber, Yes, I specifically I.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Could see it. Kind of mean, she's in her attic,
- 33:55Speaker 2: just like lonely and whatever.
- 33:57Speaker 1: So what are you doing down there in your bedroom?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Like, hey, Mary, do you want to like a drinking game?
- 34:01Speaker 1: And like or we just like Netflix and chill in
- 34:04Speaker 1: the attic?
- 34:05Speaker 2: Would it be so funny if we like watch Netflix
- 34:07Speaker 2: with our shirts off? Like, well, what would happen if
- 34:13Speaker 2: we kiss? We could try I could just try it.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Just have you ever kissed a girl before? Like why not? Oh? God,
- 34:21Speaker 2: it's happened before. Yes, it has, and you would know.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I would know I played those exact games. And then
- 34:28Speaker 2: we have Cody apologizing to Christine in the preview for
- 34:32Speaker 2: saying he didn't love her, and again, it's like the
- 34:35Speaker 2: same script that he gave to Janelle. So I'm just like, okay,
- 34:39Speaker 2: we'll see how that goes well.
- 34:40Speaker 1: But what makes this interesting is that at the time
- 34:43Speaker 1: that he's sitting down with her, presumably they are still
- 34:46Speaker 1: involved in the child support lawsuit where Christine is probably
- 34:52Speaker 1: going to make him open his books and see how
- 34:54Speaker 1: much he actually took in for the last few years
- 34:57Speaker 1: and then get an order for child support not just
- 35:00Speaker 1: currently but three years in arrears. So you know, he's
- 35:04Speaker 1: not happy to sit down across from Christine. No, you know,
- 35:07Speaker 1: he thinks that she's gonna rob him. She said, I'm
- 35:10Speaker 1: just gonna be checking the energy for sure.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Yes, definitely. With our fake psychic and our monocles and
- 35:16Speaker 2: our raccoon monocles.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Well, is there anything else that we should say to
