- 0:00Speaker 1: This is dirty little secret.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm mixed one or two point nine. Good morning, it's Monday.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It's bail of a Kid, Candaelow.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Pats producer poo. Whatever your secret is, whatever your confession is,
- 0:12Speaker 3: just get it off your chest. You feel better about it.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Eight three three seven eight seven one o two nine.
- 0:17Speaker 3: No matter what's going on, you confess to us what's happening.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I just I can't tell anyone about this, and
- 0:25Speaker 4: I'm just just really kind of ashamed. I'm pretty sure
- 0:28Speaker 4: I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. Oh no, why, Well,
- 0:34Speaker 4: I just hate summer because of my kids.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I mean, you hate summer?
- 0:39Speaker 4: I hate it. Yes, I have. I have two preschoolers.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Okay, I love them, I love them more than anything.
- 0:47Speaker 5: But I just I just don't know how much longer
- 0:50Speaker 5: I can yest. I mean they are together twenty four
- 0:54Speaker 5: to seven, which means they're also fighting twenty fourth to seven,
- 0:58Speaker 5: Like one is.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Crying or the other is crying, or they're both crying
- 1:02Speaker 4: and somebody needs something all the time, and it's just
- 1:06Speaker 4: they're making a mess. Does not stop.
- 1:08Speaker 6: So do you have do you have anybody to help you?
- 1:12Speaker 6: Or is this something you're doing?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Alone.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Well, I mean, my husband worked all day and we
- 1:18Speaker 4: don't have any family nearby, so I can't ask Grandma
- 1:21Speaker 4: to take the kids or anything. So it's all on me.
- 1:24Speaker 4: And you know, my husband works real hard, like I said,
- 1:29Speaker 4: but we're still struggling to make ends meet, so we
- 1:33Speaker 4: can't hire a babysitter or get a nanny or anything
- 1:35Speaker 4: like that.
- 1:35Speaker 6: And it's just.
- 1:37Speaker 4: It's all on me.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Right, you are not alone, that's for sure.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I just I know I probably sound ungrateful, but I'm
- 1:47Speaker 4: just I'm so exhausted in I can't even explain how
- 1:51Speaker 4: exhausted I am. There's no me left, do you know
- 1:55Speaker 4: what I mean?
- 1:55Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, so many moms feel that way?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Is it this time of the year.
- 2:01Speaker 6: And I know, Kennis, it's something about summer that just
- 2:04Speaker 6: springs out. I mean, you're right, because certain moms you
- 2:08Speaker 6: don't get a break, no, and you have.
- 2:09Speaker 1: To entertain twenty four to seven and during the summer,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you know, you're just counting down the weeks. And it
- 2:15Speaker 1: sucks because some are supposed to be carefree and you
- 2:17Speaker 1: know everything is relaxed, but it's so stressful. I get it.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, the only piece I get is when
- 2:24Speaker 4: my husband comes home, and he'll usually put the kids
- 2:27Speaker 4: to bed, and I tell them I'm going to go
- 2:29Speaker 4: take a shower, and honestly, I just sit on the
- 2:32Speaker 4: bathroom floor and cry for about an hour. I don't
- 2:37Speaker 4: even turn on the water half the time. I just
- 2:40Speaker 4: need some place to go without somebody yelling mom or
- 2:44Speaker 4: pulling my shirt or asking for a snack or fighting
- 2:47Speaker 4: or anything like that.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You know, I get that, But let.
- 2:49Speaker 6: Me ask you this, like why do you feel like
- 2:51Speaker 6: you have to keep this a secret and you can't
- 2:53Speaker 6: tell anybody? I mean, like, what's going through your head?
- 2:56Speaker 6: Where this is? I know, I get why it.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Moms are at the breaking point absolutely late July.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Do you feel bad about feeling this way? Are you
- 3:05Speaker 6: nervous about it?
- 3:06Speaker 4: It makes me feel like I'm a bad mom? You know?
- 3:09Speaker 4: I just and I just need to know. Am I alone?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Like?
- 3:13Speaker 4: Do other moms feel this way?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, you're longer.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I don't know how much younger I can keep it
- 3:19Speaker 4: together like and pretend I'm okay. I just I need
- 3:23Speaker 4: a break and I need school to start, and I
- 3:26Speaker 4: just I feelful just even saying that out loud.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Do you know, No, it's hard that do you know
- 3:31Speaker 1: what that tells me you're a good mom, you know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: because it's the moms that don't don't take it this
- 3:36Speaker 1: far and don't come to this breaking point sometimes because
- 3:39Speaker 1: they don't care enough. You know, they'll be selfish and
- 3:41Speaker 1: make time for themselves when they really shouldn't. But you know,
- 3:44Speaker 1: this is a real tough time of year, trust me. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: not for to stay at home moms, working moms too, right.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And a lot of time.
- 3:52Speaker 6: No, I mean everybody has their struggles, for sure, but
- 3:54Speaker 6: moms I do feel like, Yeah, I feel like moms
- 3:57Speaker 6: you just you wear you wear it differently and it's
- 4:01Speaker 6: heavier because there are just I feel, naturally more responsibilities
- 4:04Speaker 6: when it comes to being a mom.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, we're naturally just softer.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 6: And I'm not saying the dads aren't important obviously, it's
- 4:12Speaker 6: just different.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Like all the time, it's hard to because time you
- 4:18Speaker 1: tell someone or you go online and everything says this
- 4:21Speaker 1: phase won't last forever. Eventually you know, they won't want
- 4:24Speaker 1: you or need you, or they'll be you know, more independent,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and you'll be sad about it. But it's so hard,
- 4:28Speaker 1: it's it's hard to even process that yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 6: You help.
- 4:32Speaker 4: When people say that it does not help, it's like, okay,
- 4:35Speaker 4: but I'm struggling right now.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, do you talk to your husband about it?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Well, I'm kind of scared to tell him because I
- 4:42Speaker 4: don't know how he'll react. You know, It's like, he
- 4:45Speaker 4: goes to work all day and he's a great provider,
- 4:48Speaker 4: but it's just I know, he has struggles of his own,
- 4:51Speaker 4: and I get that because you know, work is stressful,
- 4:54Speaker 4: and then he comes home and he puts the kids
- 4:55Speaker 4: to bed, and it's it's amazing what he does.
- 4:58Speaker 6: But well, sometimes you know, react, Sometimes you hear people,
- 5:03Speaker 6: like you know, with stay at home moms, they're like, well,
- 5:06Speaker 6: I mean, at least you get to stay home.
- 5:07Speaker 2: A man will say that, but it's like, yeah, I'm staying.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Home, but but you get to check out of the
- 5:12Speaker 1: responsibilities of the home.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Sometimes it's easier to go to work.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Right, you know, so you can go to the bathroom
- 5:18Speaker 4: by yourself.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Right exactly. Yeah, it's just it's much different.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Well, I mean, listen, I wish I could give you
- 5:26Speaker 6: a hug, and I feel like you got this, and
- 5:28Speaker 6: like Candace said, it does show that you're a good mom,
- 5:31Speaker 6: that you care this much that you're you're that committed
- 5:33Speaker 6: to your kids. And trust me, we have moms that
- 5:36Speaker 6: call up that aren't that committed.
- 5:38Speaker 1: No, that's for sure.
- 5:39Speaker 6: We get off the phone and we're like, whoa, that
- 5:41Speaker 6: was kind of weird. So you know, you can hear
- 5:43Speaker 6: your love for your kids and you'll get through it.
- 5:45Speaker 6: Like you said, it's a it's a tough patch.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, toddlers too. You're in the trenches for a
- 5:49Speaker 1: while and eventually you'll come out of the other side.
- 5:52Speaker 1: You'll just have different stresses, you know. But I get it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I get it.
- 5:56Speaker 6: If maybe I could have somebody call up if there's
- 5:59Speaker 6: you know, I know we have the best listeners, so
- 6:01Speaker 6: they call up sometimes those suggestions advice and possible like
- 6:04Speaker 6: groups you could talk to or join. So if they do,
- 6:06Speaker 6: I'll get your info and we can we get forward
- 6:08Speaker 6: it to you.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be amazing. That would you don't even
- 6:12Speaker 4: know how maybe that would be Thank you so much. This,
- 6:16Speaker 4: you don't even know how much just this has helped
