The St. Louis Blues pulled off a steal at the NHL Draft, landing shutdown defenseman Brandon Carlo from the Toronto Maple Leafs for just two third-round picks — a massive bargain after Toronto paid a first-round pick and prospect to acquire him. Standing 6-foot-5 and known for disrupting top lines, Carlo pairs perfectly with Colton Parayko, instantly elevating the Blues’ defense. Toronto’s move looks like a regrettable exit, while St. Louis signals serious playoff intent with this low-cost, high-impact addition.
