Transcript
- 0:18Yeah, Josh, you said that we got a review on what was it?
- 0:20Spotify. Spotify.
- 0:22Well, it's. Kind of a review, but they just
- 0:23left a comment. But they like made it known like
- 0:26this is a review and I was chuckling.
- 0:29Let me find it, Joe. I want to.
- 0:31I better chuckle. If you don't chuckle then yeah,
- 0:33you can kill me. The comment literally starts
- 0:36review. OK.
- 0:37That's how you know it's a review.
- 0:37They qualify. Yeah, this is a fresh podcast. 2
- 0:41Christians demonstrate what it means to depend 100% on the
- 0:46grace of God through Christ. What they say is crazy.
- 0:50OK, right. Yeah, it is hilarious.
- 0:54I look forward to their podcast upcoming episodes because they
- 0:57slam every time, fam. Does Josh sound like he smells
- 1:01like ketchup? Yes, OK.
- 1:04Does Ben talk too much about Israel?
- 1:06All right, yeah, I hate that this is such a thing now, but
- 1:09OK, go. Are we all just a bit less
- 1:11sanctified each time we listen? Worth it?
- 1:15Oh my gosh. And there's a guy named Matt
- 1:17too. Sick Matt is here.
- 1:19That's great. So.
- 1:20Thank you, Daniel. I.
- 1:20Think that's you? No, I'm not gonna lie, Daniel, I
- 1:24appreciate the effort. I appreciate that you put into
- 1:27it. I want to know if he if those
- 1:29are genuine thoughts or if he was trying to be a funny boy.
- 1:31Yeah, because there's also a part of me that's like, are we a
- 1:34bit less sanctified for listening to it?
- 1:37Sure. And I'm like, I don't like that.
- 1:39I feel like why don't we just assume we're just goof?
- 1:40We just assume. Yeah, anyway, we should explain
- 1:43why Sydney is here again. Again.
- 1:45Yes, Hey. So we brought her back.
- 1:47She did so well in the test reviews, in the focus groups
- 1:50that everyone was like, you need to bring her back.
- 1:52A. Lot of people saying get rid of
- 1:53us which I didn't appreciate. They wanted her to just have the
- 1:55podcast solo. Which like, we're not.
- 1:58Gonna do that cuz her name definitely do that.
- 2:00Nope, we can't. You can't say talk to her.
- 2:01Sydney. Sydney cut the cut.
- 2:03The But it wasn't gonna say Sydney and the Sydney you know
- 2:05you can't do. That.
- 2:06That's pretty dumb. Sydney Benson What?
- 2:08Did you say Sydney Benson cuz your wife?
- 2:10Have you changed your last name now?
- 2:11I have. Not, but publicly I'm.
- 2:14Oh. It's on the way.
- 2:16It's OK. You guys just got married like
- 2:17five years ago. Yeah.
- 2:18So that's fine. Well, she had cancer.
- 2:21All right. Yeah, she was a Virgo.
- 2:25No. We're virgins, but no, she's a
- 2:27cancer. So, but no, we should explain
- 2:31Sydney is here because Josh has hated the fact that he has grown
- 2:35his hair out this long and we need an excuse to use it for
- 2:38content that he is going to get a haircut.
- 2:41So across the span of this episode where we talk about, you
- 2:44know, church at the movies and and whatever else we decide to
- 2:46put in the title 911 our nation, one of our nation's greatest
- 2:50tragedies in the last 50 ish years.
- 2:52I. Could just in general, I don't
- 2:54have to say the last. That's true.
- 2:55Well, yeah, no fair. OK, that my bad, Hindenburg.
- 2:59While that's what. Boston Massacre.
- 3:01Was it Hindenburg here? Wasn't it?
- 3:03Was it Matt? Matt Hindenburg?
- 3:06So. Like at what point can I just?
- 3:08Like you can start cutting. So you said it's just going to
- 3:10start cutting Josh's hair. I'm just going.
- 3:12To. I've never done this before so.
- 3:14No, it's OK. Me neither.
- 3:15That's all right. We've never.
- 3:16We're only like 8 episodes into this.
- 3:18And then. Oh yeah, shut up.
- 3:22Really. Know what I really thought the
- 3:23Hindenburg was? Not just because of the Burke
- 3:25I'm. Just tickling your face.
- 3:30Bro you just got smacked with your own hair.
- 3:32Man. That's an ongoing little joke
- 3:33between my husband. And I'll say that, Huh.
- 3:35Have you ever been able to say that?
- 3:36Yeah, man, I had hair at one point.
- 3:38Really. Yeah.
- 3:39I'll smack you with something. So anyway, that's an ongoing
- 3:42joke between my wife and I anytime we have any like
- 3:45physical cash for like, have you ever been smacked with $42.00?
- 3:49And then she'll just she'll straight it all out and just
- 3:50BAM. And then and then I just hit,
- 3:53you know what I mean? Because I don't I don't stand
- 3:55for that. Oh my gosh, she's cutting such a
- 3:57big chunks off anyway, I know also whispering up.
- 4:03I'm still. Working it's too.
- 4:05It's perfect. This is my favorite thing ever.
- 4:08This is great. Oh my gosh.
- 4:10So Josh had the idea the other day because as I'm sure you guys
- 4:13are aware, and many people love a lot of churches do this thing
- 4:17called Church at the Movies. It's awesome, It's awesome.
- 4:20It's really cool. You go to church and you want to
- 4:22hear about Jesus, and we're talking about India every summer
- 4:24when the pastor knows, say. Attendance is down.
- 4:26No one's here. Yeah.
- 4:28What if I compared the Gospel of Jesus to?
- 4:30Spider Man to Spider Man. Yeah, you need a brand new day.
- 4:34Boom. So what we're going to do is,
- 4:36and we're not quite sure how many times we're going to do
- 4:38this, but back and forth, we're just going to throw a movie at
- 4:40the other person and they're going to have a couple seconds
- 4:43to think about it and then they're going to come up with a
- 4:45mini sermon, I guess. 2 absolute goofballs.
- 4:48Oh my gosh, you're that's insane already.
- 4:51It's very interesting to look at.
- 4:53What is it called? The squid cut?
- 4:55The octopus cut do you want to show?
- 4:57I have no idea what a squid cut is.
- 4:58Like party up top. Is that not just a ballot?
- 5:03No. That's Oh yeah, give me give me
- 5:04like a sick mullet, OK. Or does.
- 5:06He just give you like a Lord Farquaad.
- 5:08Yeah, thing. Yeah, Farquaad was pretty sick.
- 5:11Give me a Columbia necktie. Do you guys know what?
- 5:14That is, cut the cut. Right here.
- 5:16And then you pull the the tongue out.
- 5:17Oh, cool. Kill me.
- 5:19Kill me. Just kill me.
- 5:20Kill me. Wouldn't that be so funny?
- 5:21Real. Quick, turn to the left.
- 5:24Beautiful. And with that, Josh is gonna
- 5:27start. I'm gonna throw a movie title at
- 5:29him. Oh, Josh.
- 5:30Let me put on my pastor. Title.
- 5:31OK, Just think about it for a moment.
- 5:33If anyone's ever seen this film, it's genuinely a really good
- 5:36movie starring Samuel L Jackson. OK.
- 5:38And this movie is called Black Snake Mode.
- 5:42So Black Snake Mode is, I know it's a wild title.
- 5:46The movie is very wild, and I've never seen that movie, but you
- 5:49know what? And that's OK.
- 5:50That's OK. You're basing this off of the
- 5:51title alone and I'm watching the kids work in Josh's head and
- 5:56Sid. Sid is going to pause while
- 5:58Josh. Comes up with this black snake.
- 6:01Come on, go ahead. In the Garden of Eden, Satan
- 6:04approached Eve. Oh my gosh.
- 6:07In the form of a snake. Did he not, you know, get like
- 6:10some amens and stuff? Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen.
- 6:14Eve gave in talented Adam and that has been the crux of
- 6:19humanity. Satan in his army every day
- 6:22tempting us. Amen.
- 6:23Spiritual serpents, are they not spiritual snakes?
- 6:26But Church, I want to encourage you guys today because we want
- 6:31to make those snakes moan. We want those snakes to come at
- 6:34us with everything they've got. And then we want to show them
- 6:36the gospel of Jesus. We want to hit them with the 66
- 6:39books. Sorry, Catholics.
- 6:41And we want those snakes to turn around and get the heck out of
- 6:44Dodge. We want them to moan all the way
- 6:45back to their little snake hole, wherever they reside.
- 6:48Yeah, let's make those snakes moan.
- 6:50Yeah. Hey, make them black snakes
- 6:52moan. You did much better at that than
- 6:54I thought you would. It makes me very nervous for
- 6:56whatever you're going to say to me and what I have to do.
- 6:59Thanks. Yeah.
- 7:00So yeah, black. Snake moan.
- 7:02That was a wonderful Let those snakes moan.
- 7:03Yeah. I guess what does a snake
- 7:05moaning sound like? Have.
- 7:13You seen the video? Crazy, crazy.
- 7:20Yeah, so, Ben, I've got a movie for you.
- 7:23Yeah, man. Brokeback Mountain, Oh my pastor
- 7:28Dan, please take us to church. Church at the movies.
- 7:33Brokeback Mountain. Oh my goodness gracious,
- 7:37whenever Moses goes up on the mountain top to commune with our
- 7:41Almighty God, Yahweh, Jehovah, depending on who you ask, little
- 7:46known fact, God gives him the 10 commandments as we all know.
- 7:50We all know the 10 commandments. But what you do not know and
- 7:54many people don't know because Christians aren't in their word
- 7:56and that's what I want to talk about today.
- 7:57But real quick, and that's what we have a lot of the problems as
- 8:01as last week's pastor talked about, we need to make them
- 8:03snakes moan. Right.
- 8:04Amen. Amen.
- 8:06That's what we need to do in our work of spreading the gospel.
- 8:10Anywho, whenever Moses is up on the mountaintop, he drops the 10
- 8:15commandments. He drops the 10.
- 8:19Can I get an Amen? Amen.
- 8:21Oh, my gosh, if we haven't all been there ourselves, God gives
- 8:25us something incredible in our hands when we slip up and God
- 8:29properly chastises him. He breaks his back.
- 8:34He says, what have you done? Look at what you're doing.
- 8:37Amen. I will give you these
- 8:39commandments again. Make sure you hold on to them
- 8:42tightly. Yeah.
- 8:43And what does he do? He gives them them again.
- 8:45God uses his own fingertip and writes those 10 commandments.
- 8:49And he says, Moses, you hold on to these and is with those 10
- 8:53commandments, those two tablets that he goes back down the
- 8:56mountain. But on that mountain, his back
- 8:59was broke, because he was. Not obedient.
- 9:02Amen. Amen.
- 9:04All right. I didn't think I, I just hated
- 9:06that. Honestly, the inflection was
- 9:08that. Was really good.
- 9:09That was good. I was captivated.
- 9:11I I can't believe you didn't you know, elephant in the room.
- 9:14Just go with like homosexuality. Because well, OK, I had my mind
- 9:19went to two places. It was either that or I was
- 9:21like, well, Gogotha was a hill, but it was like it was big
- 9:25enough. To be a mountain.
- 9:26Spiritually, yeah. But then I was like, do I really
- 9:28wanna make Jesus? Yeah.
- 9:30Yeah, no, that's probably a good call.
- 9:32I heard a story the other day. I can't remember if it was
- 9:34Gyllenhaal or who was telling it, but the director.
- 9:37Not no, probably not the other. One, but you know, there are
- 9:41other people that helped make the movie.
- 9:42It wasn't just no. I think it was a two man
- 9:44operation. No, but I'm saying like there
- 9:45were like producers inside. No, I understand that.
- 9:47Don't be rude. No, OK.
- 9:48Don't be rude, OK? Sorry, Pastor.
- 9:50Pastor, I'm so sorry. Yeah, Yeah.
- 9:51Did Cindy give me a bad cut to punish me?
- 9:53Yeah. It's just so weird seeing you
- 9:55with short hair again. I literally haven't seen it in
- 9:57forever. Look this way.
- 9:59Look this way. I gave him a little rat.
- 10:00Tail, thank you. You look like you're on the run.
- 10:03So apparently the producer or director of that movie, The
- 10:07Asian guy at one point. What does that have to do with
- 10:10it? Because it's gonna make sense.
- 10:12It's gonna give context. I just didn't know.
- 10:13If you're barely at one point there was like a scene that was
- 10:15what kind of Asian do you think? Matt, no, no.
- 10:23I'm so glad you're not. Miked up right?
- 10:25Thank God. I hated that so much.
- 10:28I can't believe you would think of that word all on your own.
- 10:30Look, I don't know what kind of Asian go ahead, but apparently
- 10:33at one point there's a scene between, you know, Asian Lives
- 10:37Matter. But OK, I'm sure.
- 10:38Yes, they do. They absolutely do that.
- 10:40They just got perfectly right. And the director cuts and he
- 10:43goes, oh, I was so gay. Really that really actually have
- 10:48it. OK, Which I think is awesome
- 10:51that the the director is just like, hey, we're we're going for
- 10:53a gay film. And that was so gay.
- 10:55That was a typically Asian director, so gay so and.
- 11:00He sounded just like that. Yeah, probably.
- 11:02Like you're oh so gay. I'm sorry.
- 11:07I'm sorry, Sydney. I'm not even gonna look at you.
- 11:09All right? I'm so sorry, said that stare.
- 11:12Yep. This is what's happening.
- 11:13OK, I say. I say probably one more, right?
- 11:16You probably. I've got a couple written down
- 11:19for. You got a couple written down
- 11:20for me. Let's see.
- 11:23Oh, actually. OK, your next movie title is Bad
- 11:28Santa. Ding Dong.
- 11:31Ding Dong, Ding, Ding, Ding Dong.
- 11:35You don't know the church. Yes.
- 11:38We're coming up on holiday season, and I wanted to talk to
- 11:42you guys a little bit today about the types of Santas that
- 11:46we ourselves can be whenever Christmas time rolls around.
- 11:49See, I want to make the point clear that yes, just because
- 11:53you're feeling a little jolly and you're giving gifts and
- 11:57you're in the Christmas spirit. Yes, bastard it.
- 12:00Doesn't mean that you're in tune with the Holy Spirit.
- 12:02I call that bad Santa. OK, OK, because Santa Kris
- 12:08Kringle, we look back at the history Christian man, yes,
- 12:12glorifying God with the gifts. Amen and.
- 12:16So I want to ask you today, church, what is the reason for
- 12:18the season? What?
- 12:20What is the reason for your season?
- 12:24Beautiful. OK, you're going to be a bad
- 12:26Santa. You're going to go out and, and
- 12:27hey, you may, you may think that everything's great and you're
- 12:29having a good time, but if you're not glorifying and, and,
- 12:32and paying homage, tell them the birth of our Savior.
- 12:35Tell them. You're a bad Santa.
- 12:39Yes Pastor, very good. I could see the very moment that
- 12:43like I was like, OK, Josh could cut it off now and it'd be good.
- 12:46And then you were like, I got another win just right that you
- 12:49just oh, it's a. Sermon I can't get everybody out
- 12:51too early. Yeah, 100% yeah dude, but.
- 12:54It's also not it's not black church.
- 12:55I can't keep you here too long, you know.
- 12:58Go find the. Oh my gosh, I love this hair
- 13:06cutting bit. Anyway, this is great by bit.
- 13:09Also, it's just a haircut. It's a haircut guys.
- 13:11Joke's on you, the hair's coming back.
- 13:13Joke's on you, we're doing it here because we're actually
- 13:14broke. And yeah.
- 13:16Hey, Amen, brother Matt. Matt was just staring off, like
- 13:21just remembering the war. What would you rate comparing
- 13:27the two sermons he's done? Which one was better, Black
- 13:29Snake Moan or Bad Santa? Definitely Bad Santa.
- 13:32Bad Santa I would also say Bad Santa was probably.
- 13:34Shorter, but I think it was more punchier.
- 13:36I mean, it didn't help that I haven't seen black snake moan,
- 13:38so I'm just kind of moan is rough.
- 13:40Moan is rough. Moan.
- 13:41Especially whenever you're like, we're going to make those snakes
- 13:43moan. I was like, hey, thanks so much
- 13:47for listening to the pod. We really appreciate it.
- 13:50Hope you guys are enjoying it. And if you are consider going to
- 13:53joshandthegiant.com, checking out our merch and potentially
- 13:56becoming a member today, you can do so for as little as a dollar
- 14:00a month. And now back to the podcast.
- 14:03All right, I got another movie for you here.
- 14:06Which one do I want to do? Oh, man.
- 14:09Human Centipede Pastor. All right.
- 14:14Oh my God, do so much. Whenever we look to the book of
- 14:19Acts, we see a church that is unified, connected and
- 14:24beautiful, wonderful, incredible ways.
- 14:27The the scripture says that nobody owned any any anything
- 14:32themselves. Everything was given so that the
- 14:34body could live, so that the body could go on.
- 14:38But not everybody was obedient. Some people aren't connected to
- 14:43one another. One couple in particular,
- 14:46Ananias and Sapphira, they're connected to one another and
- 14:50they're not trying to serve the church.
- 14:52They're trying to serve each other because they are not
- 14:55focused on the body. What they are serving one
- 14:58another isn't good. It isn't proper and it's almost
- 15:03it's almost comparable to one could save feces out of one was
- 15:07going into the other and now that one was going back into the
- 15:10other, something improper. That's so good.
- 15:14And because of their unfaithfulness, what happens to
- 15:18them? They are brought before Peter
- 15:21and he says you would have sinned against the Holy Spirit.
- 15:25And just like in that horrible, secular, sinful movie where the
- 15:31people who are a part of this connection die in their filth,
- 15:35what happens to Ananiasis of fire whenever they walk out of
- 15:38the tent dead? Open their mouth.
- 15:42OK. Thank you.
- 15:43Very much thank you. I want to say you gave me very
- 15:48little audience interaction. I gave you a lot.
- 15:51I was going. It also didn't help that city
- 15:53just ran across with Eli and I was like, that kind of took my
- 15:57brain power for a second. Oh yeah, but you got no haircut
- 16:01during that time. I didn't, but that's OK, That's
- 16:03fine. That's fine.
- 16:03Things happen live. You know what?
- 16:05Maybe you'll just stay like this.
- 16:07I dig it. I think this is very.
- 16:09It's very. For one million members, I'll
- 16:11keep it like this for the rest of my life.
- 16:13We do want to say like straight up we said we would do this if
- 16:15we had a certain member count and we didn't.
- 16:19But we're close. No, no man, don't do that.
- 16:21Oh, is that too calm? I mean.
- 16:22Yeah, shut up. You guys need to support us, OK?
- 16:27Look at what we do. Look at this hard.
- 16:28Don't. Listen to your dad.
- 16:29You just come up. You wanna come up?
- 16:31Shut up. He had.
- 16:33Oh, dude, if I had anything near me to throw, man, No, you.
- 16:36Do. You think it's easy to cope with
- 16:37sermons on the spot? Your father's been drinking,
- 16:39baby. Your father's been drinking.
- 16:42There was, there was liquid in that.
- 16:44Do you think it's easy just come up with sermons on the spot?
- 16:48You think it's easy to just be funny and engaging and
- 16:50entertaining? It's not.
- 16:52This is a bit that I'm doing as a character.
- 16:54I actually really appreciate all of our supporters and all of our
- 16:56members, and I hope that you guys continue to do so
- 16:59willingly. I don't want to force you, but
- 17:02joshandthegiant.com, it's a dollar a month.
- 17:04Yeah, anyway, we sent Josh and the Giant dot caution.
- 17:08Josh and the Giant everywhere. You know what I do sometimes
- 17:10whenever I post about us, So I just make the caption Josh and
- 17:13the Giant everywhere. And that feels so tough.
- 17:16Josh and the Giant everywhere. Just everywhere.
- 17:18J>IDOJ&G. Track and die.
- 17:22Amen. But yeah, man, look, we were
- 17:24going to do this at 250 members. We're not quite there.
- 17:28Or we might be. I don't know if it like, gross.
- 17:30Anyway, Yeah, but Josh was just getting tired of his hair and he
- 17:33wanted to get rid of it. That's right.
- 17:35And hey, here we are. Here we are.
- 17:36Yeah. People were telling me I started
- 17:38looking like Jared Leto. Like there was a point where
- 17:41people are like, yo, dude, the lettuce looks good.
- 17:43Yeah. I'm like, yeah, you know, we did
- 17:44get a couple. Of comments that they didn't say
- 17:46Jared Leto, they said a piece of shit, they said he looked.
- 17:49Like a piece of yeah, yeah. It's all those two.
- 17:51What? I don't think that'd do with the
- 17:52hair, So. But maybe it'll help.
- 17:53Maybe. Who knows.
- 17:54Anyway, it's all about optics. I wanna.
- 17:56I mean, you said you wanted to do a couple of more.
- 17:58Yeah. Do you want to do?
- 17:59I mean, yeah. Let's do one.
- 18:00Let's do one more. Let's see.
- 18:01I gave you black snake moan. I gave you bad Santa.
- 18:03I feel bad because Speaking of Santa, I feel bad because Josh
- 18:07has a list on his phone and I don't.
- 18:09But off the top of my head, man. Excuse me?
- 18:13One of us knows movies better than the other.
- 18:15I'll let you guys that's true. I mean figure that out.
- 18:17I mean, look, dude, one of us played sports and like, talk to
- 18:22girls and I watched movies and television.
- 18:24I was hit deep in professional wrestling for a long time.
- 18:27And Speaking of which, one of my favorite movies as a child.
- 18:32And I know it's not a good movie, but it's a fun movie.
- 18:35The Marine starring John Cena, certified hood, classic,
- 18:39certified banger. All right, we're going to have
- 18:41to pause. We're going to have to pause.
- 18:44Dude. I just heard Josh hiss up a
- 18:46storm and then he's walking back into the recording area.
- 18:50Do you have a chocolate bar? You have a Pokémon?
- 18:55Oh, man, I'm not beating the giant allegations.
- 18:57The Marine, The Marine starring John Cena.
- 18:59I believe he came out in approximately 2008.
- 19:01Used to be one of my. Favorite movies?
- 19:02I haven't seen that movie in forever.
- 19:04That's fine. OK.
- 19:06Yeah, yeah, everybody's, everybody's announced you know
- 19:11when you. Accept Christ as your Savior.
- 19:16Hold up real quick. I do have to pause, Sid.
- 19:17You cannot cut his hair while he's giving a sermon.
- 19:20Yeah. Oh, yeah, That's all right.
- 19:21No, but that's cool. She's making up for lost time.
- 19:23Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, it's fair.
- 19:24That's wonderful. OK, here we go.
- 19:25You know church when you accept Jesus as your Savior.
- 19:28Yes. You're not just making a
- 19:31decision on a whim. Yeah.
- 19:33You're joining the army. Yeah.
- 19:34Y'all remember the song? I'm in the Lord's Army.
- 19:38Remember that song? Yes, Sir.
- 19:40Yes, Sir. Yeah, yeah, it's real.
- 19:44It is real. It's real because when that is
- 19:46real, all of a sudden, oh, there you go again.
- 19:50Oh my goodness. When When it happens, yes,
- 19:59you're in the Lords Army. Yes, you are.
- 20:01And, and the war starts right then and there because when you
- 20:05accept Jesus as your savior, you were opening up the door to
- 20:08spiritual warfare. Satan all of a sudden is a
- 20:10sleeper agent, like like he's from Russia or the Middle East
- 20:13or something that's been planted inside your life.
- 20:16He's activated. Yes, pastor, I have a very good
- 20:20idea what the building looks like.
- 20:23And that is why a Semper Fi church, you're a Marine.
- 20:27From that moment on, you are a Marine.
- 20:29You're in the fight Jesus is giving you.
- 20:31He's giving you an M16 without 66 bullets.
- 20:39Yeah, Pastor knows a lot about metaphorically.
- 20:41Church of. Course, yeah.
- 20:44You're a Marine. Men, women.
- 20:46When you accept Christ, you're Marine.
- 20:47More Marine. Roll, Chris.
- 20:53All right, I'm not gonna lie. Might be the weakest 1.
- 20:57Yeah, I just, I really just don't remember any aspect to the
- 21:01movie, OK. But I'm just clear.
- 21:02When you say black sake mode, there's so much more in that
- 21:04title than just like, yeah, the Marine.
- 21:06I'm not gonna lie though, like I think you were on the exact
- 21:09right track. You did just keep saying Marine.
- 21:12I was making it land Marine. Land.
- 21:16I was trying to land and I couldn't freaking land.
- 21:17That's Harry, John Cena. Hey, sometimes.
- 21:20Hey, Speaking of flights, we'll talk about that in a little bit.
- 21:23You guys have seen the title? You know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:26Sydney. Don't do that.
- 21:27Had some crazy thoughts on that. Anyway, go ahead.
- 21:30Last movie for you and then we'll go to 911.
- 21:32Yeah, 3:00 and 3:00. You know.
- 21:34Yeah. The Barbie movie.
- 21:39My goodness gracious, okay, for anybody who didn't hear that one
- 21:43of the dogs just almost threw up as soon as like, Friday.
- 21:46No, he's just looking at us. It's okay buddy.
- 21:49It's not okay, you see. That video going around of the
- 21:51dog in the tractor trailers, like the guy, the people who go
- 21:56across the state like 18 Wheelers, you know what I'm
- 22:00talking. About oh, like the the pasture
- 22:01like for cows and horses normally, but they just put a
- 22:03Wiener dog in there. No, I'm.
- 22:05Not he's talking about 18 Wheelers.
- 22:07Yeah, I'm talking. About like people who, Yeah,
- 22:08truck drivers. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 22:09OK. I can't believe I don't.
- 22:10I just had a seizure. I couldn't think of just truck
- 22:12drivers. And you know how sometimes
- 22:13they'll bring their kid or whatever?
- 22:14Sure. There's a viral video going
- 22:16around of, of a very clearly older guy with like, his dog and
- 22:19the dog sitting in the front seat.
- 22:21The dog. You know what I'm talking about.
- 22:22You're a good girl. It's OK, It's not your fault
- 22:25because the dog, like, just threw up.
- 22:26Yeah. It's like I was just telling
- 22:28somebody in nine years you've never, never had an accident.
- 22:30And the dog's just like, he's like, it's OK, baby.
- 22:32See, you can't relate because our dogs just puke all the time
- 22:35and and. There's so much.
- 22:37And we've gone to the vet about it and they're like, it's just
- 22:41normal. Bad dogs.
- 22:43And you guys can't see, but they have Israel themed pillows puke
- 22:47all over them and I think that's gross.
- 22:50Well. I I know you think it's gross.
- 22:53Anywho, what's my movie? The Barbie movie Church, church,
- 22:58church, church. Let me tell you something about
- 23:00the modern day world. OK, the modern day world wants
- 23:03you comfortable. Modern day world wants you to
- 23:06think that things are just squeaky clean, that everything
- 23:10is just picture perfect. Well, now, when in reality, what
- 23:15it is giving you is something fake.
- 23:19It's giving you it's, it's fugazi, fugazi.
- 23:21It's it's, it's, it's up in the air.
- 23:23It's not real. Well, you don't have to make it
- 23:27very specific to the movie other pastor, any who, but that's what
- 23:32the world wants to give you. The world wants to give you
- 23:34something that looks maybe from far away like oh, is that right?
- 23:39Oh, is that good? Oh, let's make you just like the
- 23:42next person. Let's make Ken like Ken, but
- 23:44he's slightly different. Let's make Barbie like Barbie,
- 23:47but she's slightly different. When in reality, every single,
- 23:52every single one of you is made in the image of God.
- 23:56And real life is so much better than that squeaky clean
- 23:59nonsense. Step out from the plastic world.
- 24:04Step in to the created world of our Lord God Almighty.
- 24:09That is where real life happens. That's where salvation is found.
- 24:13And that is where beauty lies. We had a phrase break that was
- 24:24that was the best. 1 I actually got so excited.
- 24:27That was for the second. That's thanks, man.
- 24:28Yeah, thanks. Good job, pastor, really
- 24:30appreciate that. Yeah.
- 24:33Good, cool. Well, hey.
- 24:34Gray hair back. Here it actually would.
- 24:36Have been to remind me of. What you have Gray hairs?
- 24:38Gray hair dude. Couldn't relate.
- 24:40My my beard completely brownish red.
- 24:43Not a bit of white, not a bit of grey.
- 24:45Oh, good for you. Yeah, Type B1 of my favorite rap
- 24:49lines when I was still an active rapper.
- 24:52OK, Redhead with money called that Gingerbread.
- 24:56Oh my God. Could be something there?
- 24:58I hate that I like that. Could be.
- 24:59Something there, he said that and I was like, unfortunately a
- 25:03bar. Unfortunately, a bar.
- 25:05I was really hoping what you were going to say was something
- 25:07tragic. But what do you know?
- 25:10That's tragedy. But let me tell you something
- 25:11about tragic about 25 years ago almost to the wait, it is
- 25:17actually almost 25 years ago, right?
- 25:18It's 2000. It's 2026. 2125 years.
- 25:23Man, Sid was excited for this week's topic.
- 25:27Something happened in New York City.
- 25:29It didn't. Something that would go down in
- 25:31the history books. I'm an act of terror.
- 25:34This is such a switch. No Yankees lost in the big game.
- 25:37Let me. Tell you something.
- 25:38Yeah, I thought you were talking about the New York Yankees.
- 25:40Did they? What happened?
- 25:41They lost a baseball game. Yeah, legitimately, they lost a
- 25:45baseball game. Are.
- 25:46Are you right, sports boy, or are you just making that up?
- 25:48I'm sure they lost a baseball game.
- 25:50I don't like how much quieter you're getting in like reserved
- 25:52'cause you know that probably didn't happen.
- 25:54What's up guys? We're going to get right back to
- 25:56the podcast, but wanted to stop and say thank you.
- 25:58Thank you so much for watching or listening to Josh and the
- 26:01Giant. Wherever you do, If you haven't,
- 26:03take some time to go to joshandthegiant.com and support
- 26:06us. Consider becoming a member.
- 26:07Check out our merch. I definitely haven't pissed
- 26:09myself. Guys.
- 26:10Thank you again so much for supporting the pod.
- 26:12God bless. So yeah, look, we all know 9/11,
- 26:15all right? Plane hit the north tower, I
- 26:17believe it was the north and the South tower was the names of the
- 26:20towers. Plane hit one plane hit another
- 26:24not long after. They were actually up for a lot
- 26:26longer. So I did some research on this
- 26:28whole thing because we look we this episode is coming out on
- 26:31September 10th. We wanted to talk about 911 also
- 26:34because 911, frankly, online, whenever you're in the online
- 26:38space like we are, it's kind of memed to death.
- 26:41Yeah, there's a lot of memes about it, and we wanted to talk
- 26:43about it and not make fun of it, not make a meme out of it.
- 26:47Yeah. It is legitimately like a very
- 26:48big point, Sidney. Don't look at me like that
- 26:51because we're not making fun of it, OK?
- 26:53It's a very big point. Josh looks so different.
- 26:56I know it's crazy. I keep.
- 26:58Looking dude in the. Angle, I'm looking.
- 27:00You know what you look like? You look like an 80s
- 27:01stockbroker. There's something about the
- 27:04hair. There's something I don't know.
- 27:05Hi, Loki. We should keep like this link.
- 27:10That would kind of. Yeah, but here's.
- 27:14The thing? Well, don't you want to shave
- 27:15that or you want to leave it? No get it all 100% any who make
- 27:19me like. We're going to talk about 911.
- 27:21And we wanted to talk about it a bit because neither of us, and
- 27:24I'm going to say all of us, including Sydney, we all like
- 27:27knew kind of about 911. And we had some preconceived
- 27:30notions about potentially what may have happened on 9/11,
- 27:33calling a spade a spade for a long time.
- 27:35And I think this is very influenced by like, online
- 27:38culture. I was like, oh, 100 percent,
- 27:41911. Like I believed in certain
- 27:43conspiracies that leave this out or the other.
- 27:46It's been probably in total 7 or 8, almost at six or seven, 7 or
- 27:518 hours watching and listening to various 9/11 conspiracy
- 27:56theory videos. And can I tell you guys
- 27:58something? What's up?
- 28:00Come to the conclusions coming out of the closet, guys.
- 28:03I am gay. I feel like this is gonna shock.
- 28:05Me. It's gonna.
- 28:05Shock you like crazy I think the real truth of the matter is it
- 28:10just kind of happened exactly like what we thought had
- 28:12happened yeah. And here's the thing, I can't
- 28:15believe you're. Saying that.
- 28:18Here's the thing, and we can talk about this for quite a
- 28:21while, but I have yet to find any kind of conspiracy theory
- 28:27that has anything substantial connected to it.
- 28:31Everything quite literally from the videos that I've seen.
- 28:33And I can't wait to see the people who disagree in the
- 28:35comments. Oh, for sure.
- 28:36But everything from the videos I've seen in the research I've
- 28:38done is, are claims made based on maybe one or two things.
- 28:43And for anybody who's a part of like knows the conspiracy theory
- 28:46space, that's what a lot of it is.
- 28:47It's like we're going to tie an idea.
- 28:49It's very ancient aliens where it's like we know this one thing
- 28:53happened, here's another thing we kind of think happened,
- 28:55here's how we can loop them together.
- 28:57But whenever you take a look at that, there's nothing really
- 29:00there. There's nothing of substance
- 29:01there. So I'm just going to go ahead
- 29:03and say it. Please I.
- 29:05Look at people. That view like there are things
- 29:08that I think maybe I have like a conspiracy outlook on that
- 29:111100%. But the the squad that's like
- 29:13Bush did it inside job. It wasn't, you know, the, the Al
- 29:19Qaeda or whoever the group was. I, I lumped those people into
- 29:23the same group as moon landing deniers.
- 29:28Yeah, because I just. Feel like it's like.
- 29:31No. I'm not a moon.
- 29:32We can talk about that in another episode, but I believe
- 29:34we went to the moon for sure. So it's just.
- 29:35Like, I don't know, it's just one of those things where it's
- 29:38like, oh, I get it. It's like, oh, fun to like.
- 29:40It is funny talk. About.
- 29:41Like oh what if and like the hypotheticals.
- 29:43But yeah, I love what? If did you watch that What if
- 29:46Marvel? What if?
- 29:47Oh yeah. Absolute gas.
- 29:49Get out of the damn chair. Go sit down.
- 29:50We're going to talk about what if now 9 a couple of clips
- 29:53about. It on TikTok wasn't it where
- 29:55Ultron cut him? Cut him.
- 29:57That was the first season so that.
- 29:59Was the first OK that was 360. Second clips of whatever go back
- 30:02to 911 anyway. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:04It's just like, yeah. You're because you did some
- 30:06research too. You watch some stuff too,
- 30:08because frankly, I, I called Josh like earlier this week and
- 30:11I was like, dude, because I was really hoping to dive in and
- 30:13just get to some meaty conspiracy theory stuff.
- 30:16And then you peel it back and there's, it's just a paper
- 30:19tiger. It's nothing.
- 30:20Yeah. Like you peel it back and you're
- 30:21like, oh, it's like, Oh, yeah, this.
- 30:23Very bad group of people had a very meticulous plan that was
- 30:27look executed and we can get into the specifics.
- 30:29A bit. But what it really is is there's
- 30:32a bad group of people who Osama bin Laden based the attacks on
- 30:369/11. He worked with a, I mean a bunch
- 30:38of people. But there was, I was telling
- 30:40Matt earlier, it's kind of a Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak
- 30:42situation. Osama bin Laden very much was
- 30:44the Steve Jobs of what happened on 9/11.
- 30:47There's another guy who we actually have and we've had
- 30:50we've had detained for like years and years.
- 30:53And he is still potentially on trial for the whole 911
- 30:57situation. Really.
- 30:59Yes. I forget the guy's name.
- 31:00It's I would always still waterboarding him.
- 31:02He's literally. Been.
- 31:03Waterboarded like over 140 times.
- 31:05Documentary, dude. I'm sure they did.
- 31:07I'm sure they did. But anyway, he based the attacks
- 31:10on another plane attack that had happened to either 1 tower or
- 31:14another pair of towers in either like Turkey or, or one of those,
- 31:19one of those but a, a Middle Eastern country.
- 31:22And he was like, I want to do this to America.
- 31:24And there had already been some attacks on America.
- 31:26There was the carpet bombing of the OR not carpet bombing, the
- 31:30car bombing, I believe of the World Trade Center and sometime
- 31:33in the 80s. And he he just wanted to make a
- 31:36statement to America legitimately.
- 31:37And what we also had, and This is why I kind of described it to
- 31:40you guys earlier, is kind of a powder cake situation.
- 31:42And I was telling Matt more about this.
- 31:44The world or not the World Trade.
- 31:46Wait, yeah. The World Trade Centres, they
- 31:48were not built very well. They were constructed well.
- 31:52They were old, but they were also what were called like, have
- 31:55now been called like skeleton buildings.
- 31:58Like they were not constructed well.
- 32:00And the architect that constructed them was literally a
- 32:03guy afraid of heights. And that's part of the reason
- 32:05why, really, yes, why the windows were the way that they
- 32:08were on the World Trade Centers and why certain other aspects of
- 32:11the architecture were the way that they were.
- 32:14And. Yeah.
- 32:15And it's like there, there's all these other things.
- 32:17So there's like this rising discontent from al al Qaeda and
- 32:22and other people like that in the Middle East who want to make
- 32:24a statement. There are these two giant
- 32:26buildings that are like all, all known throughout the world as
- 32:30like American icons, which I guess like growing up being born
- 32:34in 97, like, I just don't remember it a lot.
- 32:37I don't remember. But like the twin towers were
- 32:39everywhere. They were all yeah, OK, well,
- 32:42it's not my fault even more in the 80s, but yeah.
- 32:45So the twin towers were everywhere.
- 32:46So like, that makes a Dang statement whenever you literally
- 32:50are a terrorist organization, you're like, they want to attack
- 32:52America. And I mean, it wasn't obviously
- 32:53just the twin towers they attacked for the Pentagon they
- 32:55were going to. Yeah.
- 32:58Flight 93, they think it was either going to go, I think it
- 33:00was Flight 93, I think they confirmed it was going to be the
- 33:02capital. Because they got they one of the
- 33:04guys that they captured was like, yeah, the capital was the
- 33:07the 4th target before. OK, well, the.
- 33:10The thing that I had seen, I mean, I'm sure, I'm sure that's
- 33:12right. But the thing that I had seen
- 33:13said that it was either going to be the capital or the White
- 33:16House. And it was like one of those two
- 33:18things. But it's like they had these big
- 33:21iconographic like landmarks that they wanted to hit.
- 33:24And then I think they just did it.
- 33:26They just put together a plan that actually worked.
- 33:29And there was a lot of Intel that the US government received
- 33:32that. And I don't think in a
- 33:34conspiratorial way, but they just didn't treat it with the
- 33:38gravity that it should have been treated.
- 33:40And what we also had, and this is also I think a lot of people
- 33:43have known for a long time that George W Bush was like kind of a
- 33:46goof a little bit and just kind of a puppet.
- 33:48And I think part of that puppetry is that there were
- 33:52other people in the government who wanted a war.
- 33:54They wanted something to really to sink their.
- 33:57Yes, to sink their teeth into this happened.
- 34:00And they were kind of like, perfect.
- 34:02Great. Yeah.
- 34:03Let's go into a place that has no real connection to the Dang.
- 34:06Anyway, that's no. Yeah, that was.
- 34:08But see, here's the thing. And that's.
- 34:09What pisses me off sometimes about the conspiracy theorist
- 34:11people, it's like there there is sketchy stuff happening, but
- 34:15whenever you go, oh man, I think it was a a planned demolition
- 34:19because of this and or the other.
- 34:20And it's like, no see, but it's not that stuff.
- 34:23It's the weird stuff like Donald Rumsfeld, the day before 9/11,
- 34:26he comes out and he goes, by the way, Pentagon can't find like $2
- 34:29trillion and then but I think. Like on your point about like
- 34:33inside job controlled demolition because who's jet fuel, who's go
- 34:37ahead it's? Kind of like one of those deals.
- 34:40And it's the same thing that I say for like, the people that
- 34:42say we faked the moon landing and that it was all, like,
- 34:44filmed, right? Correct.
- 34:45Do you know how many people would have?
- 34:48What'd you say? Just go ahead.
- 34:50Do. You know how many people would
- 34:52have to be involved in an operation like that to make it
- 34:56work? And then do you know how?
- 34:58Many people then would have to either keep their mouth shut or
- 35:02you'd have to kill like a lot of people would all of a sudden.
- 35:05Here's the. Thing and I don't want to.
- 35:06I don't want to push with a. Gun immediately, but I do.
- 35:08Want to say I think that that also happens like I think that
- 35:11there are also just things that are held and kept secret and
- 35:15like they don't come out till later.
- 35:16I mean we live we live in America where things like the
- 35:18Tuskegee experiment went on where they were like, what if we
- 35:21just like poison black people and everybody was just like,
- 35:23anyway, I don't know about this. So it's like stuff happens, but
- 35:27it does eventually smell like this, like we're we're.
- 35:30Like, oh, we're going there. Does there does get to a?
- 35:32Point where there is a scale at which where it's like, but at
- 35:35the same time, I I don't want to I don't want to say that 911
- 35:40wasn't a conspiracy or or or wasn't like an inside job
- 35:44because it would it would be too big and then it would have
- 35:47gotten out. I think 911 is not an was not an
- 35:49inside job because everything points to it whenever you
- 35:53actually get down to the brass tacks of it.
- 35:54Not because I think that there can be large scale like inside
- 35:59job conspiracy things, but I just don't think 911 is one of
- 36:03them. Like, and it yeah, like speaking
- 36:07specifically about like the, the, the demolition aspect and
- 36:10the falling buildings. Why for so long?
- 36:13And again, going back to being influenced by like online
- 36:16culture, I was like, you know what?
- 36:18Because it had been so long since I even watched it because
- 36:20who wants to sit there? And that's another thing.
- 36:22And I don't want to do. Hey newsflash, 911 is a big
- 36:25bummer whenever you're just like watch the 100.
- 36:28What was it, 102, 102 minutes that changed America?
- 36:32Yeah. And that was, it was like a
- 36:34documentary basically of all, like the footage rounded up from
- 36:37the event. And it was like, Oh my God.
- 36:40I think I same boat as you. Like, I went into it.
- 36:42I almost was kind of like, man, I'm not really a conspiracy
- 36:45theorist on this. Like I have a couple things that
- 36:47I think or a little conspiracy ish, but I was kind of like,
- 36:49man, I want something to convince me because it's going
- 36:52to make great pod or whatever. And so I I go in, I listen to a
- 36:55couple of podcasts and then I watch 102 minutes of change of
- 36:58America. And I was just like floored to
- 37:01the point of like, I don't want to, I don't want to do anything.
- 37:04Well dude, I'm watching. This thing where the guy's
- 37:05playing a bunch of footage of like the people that jumped and
- 37:10they have so much footage of like whenever the whenever the
- 37:13firemen are all all speaking, I forget they're in the lobby of
- 37:15some building and they take a second because they think it's
- 37:17debris falling. And then you literally see in
- 37:20real time the realization on their faces, like, oh, no,
- 37:22that's bodies. Yeah.
- 37:23Those are people who like don't want to burn to death.
- 37:25They don't want to, they don't want smoke inhalation to be the
- 37:27way that by the way comedy podcast.
- 37:29But and then but but they're like, you know what, I guess
- 37:35I'll just go. Yeah, it is Wing, and that is
- 37:39literally dude. That was something.
- 37:41I think I text you. I was like, man, 911 is so sad
- 37:45because it's very this will be a weird thing to equate it to, but
- 37:49in a very similar way, the the Charlie Kirk, the Charlie Kirk
- 37:53situation that has been meme to death.
- 37:56And then you really lose in all the Internet culture of like a
- 37:59guy was shot in the neck. Well, I think it's lost his.
- 38:02Life. You know, the same thing is
- 38:04about 911 because every there's so many memes, there's so many
- 38:06jokes and it desensitizes you to the fact that like I think Matt
- 38:10looked it up earlier something how many so many people died on
- 38:139/11 and you just kind of you forget about that whenever you
- 38:18weren't reminded. Did she just jank?
- 38:20No, no, no. I.
- 38:20Looked back. Oh OK.
- 38:21I was like. Wow, she doesn't be good boy
- 38:23often, but yeah, man, like, all right, 2900 people died in 9/11.
- 38:33Goodness gracious. Damn, that was bigger.
- 38:36Than that, yeah. Lords.
- 38:38Would you raise your eyebrows at me?
- 38:41Oh, that we're like we're. Convincing her can you sit still
- 38:44so. I can just my head debombing too
- 38:46much. Now I want to say on if there
- 38:49was any like sort of like not triumphant.
- 38:54Triumphant's not the right word. Yeah, but Todd Beamer from 911,
- 38:59the one of the few like, I don't know if you would call it a
- 39:01bright spot, but just like a hero.
- 39:03Was he the. Red bandana the.
- 39:06Gentleman on the 4th flight on the Oh oh.
- 39:09Oh, I think was he the guy that said let's roll?
- 39:11Yeah. All right, guys.
- 39:12Let's roll. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:13Again, to be clear, I say hero, obviously.
- 39:15First responders. Well, yeah, but you don't have
- 39:17to. Yes, OK, but Todd Beamer, the
- 39:20guy? On the 4th flight, who like
- 39:21literally led the people storming the cockpit.
- 39:24Last words were Are you ready? Are you guys ready?
- 39:26OK, let's roll. Yeah.
- 39:28He just goes in there and they they run the playground.
- 39:30So freaking like badass. So badass.
- 39:34And it's like, and that's why I asked about the, the red Bandana
- 39:37guy because there's a story of a man and forgive me because I
- 39:39didn't, I didn't take notes. I should have the guy that was
- 39:41like the guy who was on yes, who could have escaped.
- 39:44And they believe that his final position was either in the lobby
- 39:50of either the north or South tower or right outside.
- 39:53But whenever the building collapsed, he just, he just
- 39:55died. He got lost in the in the
- 39:57rubble, but no, he helped. I think it's like confirmed
- 40:00something like maybe 20 something.
- 40:03Like like survive and it's like heartbreaking because whenever
- 40:07they go back to his apartment and his family does to collect
- 40:11his belongings, there's an FDNY application filled out and he
- 40:17was going to take it. Dude, it was.
- 40:20And every time I heard about that, I heard about that two or
- 40:22three times across multiple videos.
- 40:23It's like it is a genuinely, what a beautiful thing to hear
- 40:27about somebody who could have escaped, who could have just ran
- 40:31and just gone, but they were like, no, there are people who
- 40:34are going to die and they get and that's like, see the reason?
- 40:38Why I'm a big America is the best.
- 40:41Yeah, I'm sorry, had to. I'm a big.
- 40:45America's the best. Could you leave him like that?
- 40:47Just for a minute. Yeah, Perfect.
- 40:49Thank you. Let me tell you something.
- 40:51Let's talk about 911. Here's.
- 40:56I'm a big like. America's the best.
- 40:58Yeah. OK, And when you when you look
- 41:01at a tragedy like this, you can often tell a lot about how not
- 41:06the government responds because I feel like the government's
- 41:08just like the bureaucracy and it's like the garbage how the
- 41:10people respond. And I I admire so much and I'm
- 41:15proud to be an American because of how people like red Bandana
- 41:18guy, how how they responded and how it was like even in the
- 41:23midst of this, the ashes like I will rise up.
- 41:26I will help my fellow Steve Buscemi.
- 41:29Steve Buscemi, who was even at the time like a world renowned
- 41:32actor, but he had been a volunteer fireman.
- 41:34He hears about like on the day he lives in New York and he goes
- 41:39in and there's multiple photos of him 'cause he was also very
- 41:42intentional with the with the journalist and like the not
- 41:44paparazzi, but like the journalist.
- 41:46He was like, I don't want pictures of me taken and him
- 41:48like covering his face. Bless you, Sidney.
- 41:50Sidney walked away and she was sneezing.
- 41:51Just so you guys know, just to make make that abundantly clear.
- 41:54No, but he was making a very clear somebody who is a like a
- 41:57list actor doesn't have to be rushing into like burning
- 42:00buildings and going through rubble.
- 42:02He did it for like days. And it's like it's those kinds
- 42:06of stories, just like red Bandana guy, just like the guy
- 42:08Todd Beamer, Todd Beamer and like man.
- 42:11And and to go back to the more conspiracy minded part, flight
- 42:14flight 9493. Is that the one that got ran?
- 42:17Into the. 93 So that was another one that like I had heard things
- 42:21for years. It's like, well, why they why
- 42:23didn't they find more pieces of the plane?
- 42:24And it's like, well, they did. They found a bunch of the pieces
- 42:27of plane. Part of the reason they also it
- 42:28was difficult and took longer to find pieces of the plane and why
- 42:32a lot of the human remains were just like scattered.
- 42:35And it is again, harrowing to hear some of the like first
- 42:38responders talking about just finding pieces of flesh and
- 42:41other things like that scattered around is because whenever you
- 42:44see plane landings in like fields and other situations, it
- 42:49is often being piloted by a pilot who is trying to land
- 42:52safely, not terrorists who just had the Dang whatever busted
- 42:57through and they literally went straight down into the it's
- 43:01insane man. But it's like the knowing that
- 43:05like potentially at the very least, because I'm sure those
- 43:07people, they, they wanted to like save everybody on board and
- 43:11maybe potentially we could storm or whatever, but knowing that
- 43:13like this may still cost us our lives, but we're going to do it
- 43:16anywhere. We're not going to like
- 43:17sacrifice. Yeah, dude, crazy.
- 43:19It's crazy. It's incredibly crazy American.
- 43:22That's, that's one of the other things that I was like reminded
- 43:24of and like this whole thing kind of served as a good, a good
- 43:29reminder of like, as as bizarre as it sounds, some of the
- 43:32beautiful moments that came out of like such a terrible thing,
- 43:35the moment of George Bush. Throwing out the first pitch at
- 43:39the the first Yankee home game. Oh yeah, and it's a freaking
- 43:42darts for a strike. Like right down the middle dude
- 43:46I. Remember being a Galliant, I
- 43:47remember being a kid and seeing Rudy Giuliani on SNL and coming
- 43:51out because I forgot that like a bunch of comedic things and a
- 43:54bunch of people like took like weeks off.
- 43:56I think it was like like me and my dad, we were big fans of like
- 43:58Daily Show with Jon Stewart and he's all in like New York.
- 44:01He. Took like 2 weeks.
- 44:02Off and I remember being a kid and seeing Rudy Giuliani on the
- 44:06first SNL back and he's there, dude.
- 44:09He's there like surrounded by firefighters and just talking
- 44:12about what had happened. And he was like, but we'd like
- 44:14we deserve to laugh again and we need to laugh again and we need.
- 44:18And it's like, man, it's those moments that just like you were
- 44:22talking about, and I don't know, like regardless of even being an
- 44:25American, but just being a human being and really seeing how
- 44:28resilient people can be, like in the face of like this horrific
- 44:31thing just happened. Everybody, especially in New
- 44:34York at that time had 911 stories lost Somebody knew
- 44:37somebody. And also just bizarre stories of
- 44:40like people who almost made it to the to the Dang towers.
- 44:43There was a woman who Seth Rogen.
- 44:46Well, you Seth Rogen. Seth Rogen, Rogan it.
- 44:50Wasn't it was Cesic? Farler, I can't tell This is
- 44:52better. Not well.
- 44:54Yeah, he was. Him and Mark Wahlberg were going
- 44:56to be either on the same flight or different flight.
- 44:59Mark Wahlberg, too. Yeah.
- 44:59Yeah. And Cesic Farley.
- 45:00Was actually like hungover 'cause he got so drunk the
- 45:02previous night. But no, there was a woman who
- 45:04was just who worked in one of the towers.
- 45:07She was late to work because she almost got hit by Gwyneth
- 45:10Paltrow's like truck. No, she was, she was like
- 45:13speeding down whatever Rd. she almost got hit, it caused her to
- 45:15like take a step back or whatever.
- 45:17She was late to the train and she was, I believe literally one
- 45:20minute late to work. So good job.
- 45:23Walks up and as. She's walking up.
- 45:25She either saw the plane hit the tower or the tower fall.
- 45:29Oh my gosh. So it's like.
- 45:30Bizarre. Things like that.
- 45:31But it's like, yeah, in in like researching these horrific
- 45:34events, you can in some odd way be reminded of like what it
- 45:37means to be like human and in the face of adversity macro.
- 45:40Unity like even when like even now, like, oh, I can find
- 45:43pockets of people that agree with me and we're unified and
- 45:45we're but but like just a moment like that, reminding everyone of
- 45:48like we are all like this group of people, we're all American.
- 45:52It's just and also how important it.
- 45:53Is to like actually take a second and like research
- 45:55something and look into something because we were
- 45:57talking about it and going back to the Donald Rumsfeld thing.
- 46:00There's also, I don't know how this will sound to some people.
- 46:03Sometimes there are like actually genuine coincidences
- 46:06and it's like I do like looking at it and watching the footage
- 46:10and remembering, I guess, or maybe being informed for the
- 46:13first time. I thought the whole thing was
- 46:15OK. The plane just comes right down
- 46:16and hits the Pentagon, but for some reason there's no wings and
- 46:19the hole looks like very oh, it's just the, the main part of
- 46:22the. But before that the plane had
- 46:24come down and it like smashed into a generator and it hit and
- 46:28multiple other things. So of course the wings were
- 46:30probably already like barely holding on.
- 46:32And it's like, I don't know, dude.
- 46:35And it hits the exact point in the Pentagon.
- 46:37And this is one of those weird things that is at the I think
- 46:41more than likely a coincidence. But it's very weird that where
- 46:43it hit, I think was the like audit center of the Pentagon,
- 46:47the Dick. So it's like where we can kind
- 46:49of get into some. Things that are a bit like
- 46:51bizarre, a bit fishy. I have to say.
- 46:54It was not on my bingo card that you guys were actually seeing
- 46:57this conversation. Seriously.
- 46:59Oh my gosh. Yeah, it's.
- 47:00Still like. Oh, you thought we were gonna.
- 47:01Joke. Yeah, well, here's the thing.
- 47:04I'm. Bracing myself up, you know?
- 47:06Do you know why? Do you know why we took this
- 47:08conversation seriously? Because I'm proud.
- 47:11To be an American. Where at least I know I'm free,
- 47:16but are you being? Serious, I'm very proud to be.
- 47:20An American. Hey, man, I just have a good
- 47:21singing voice. So yeah, get out the straight.
- 47:23Razor and cut that guy's hair off.
- 47:25But but no man. Yeah, like there are some also
- 47:28at the same time very weird things, but I think it was.
- 47:32Like I, I can't tell if it was just people who somehow had an
- 47:37inside track or like they hear something or somebody that tells
- 47:40them something. But for example, there was, I
- 47:44forget where the professor was located, but people basically
- 47:46tracked down and found very unusual stock trading activity
- 47:51on like all the airlines. Yep, in the days leading up.
- 47:54Yep. I don't think that's a
- 47:55coincidence. Now, to that point, someone in
- 47:58al Qaeda could have just been like, hey, you know, we know
- 48:01what we're about to do. Let's make some those.
- 48:03Organizations get funding in some way, 100%.
- 48:06Well, another very bizarre thing about insider trading, that's
- 48:10what when I used to play. GTA, which GTA?
- 48:13The new GTA is coming out. I'm kind of stoked about that.
- 48:15Yeah. When I used to play GTA, shout
- 48:17out John Rush GTA Church. Anyway, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:21I would invest in the GTA stock market and shorts, the airline
- 48:27stocks, and then I would go and just to the airport and blow up
- 48:29all the airplanes. And do you remember the money?
- 48:31Hack in GTA in GTA5, what was the money hack?
- 48:34There was like a very famous one that I could never I never did
- 48:36it or I never did it right. But there's at one point in the
- 48:39game where you go basically, like, I don't know exactly what
- 48:42words we can say on YouTube where you go take out a certain
- 48:45number of people. Yeah.
- 48:46It's in connection to something. And you're meant to.
- 48:49You potentially can go buy a lot of certain shares and then you
- 48:52sell them as soon as you take out those people.
- 48:53Yeah, yeah, yeah. I probably should have done
- 48:55that. I'll do.
- 48:55This too quickly. Have you ever seen the movie
- 48:57Jarhead? It's been forever, but you're
- 49:00reminding me of Jarhead. Because there's just a whole
- 49:02point. Sorry, sorry.
- 49:04I just remember in that movie, I don't know if I've seen it since
- 49:06I was an adult. I just remember at one point
- 49:09some, like his instructor or Sergeant or whatever, just
- 49:11bashes his head against the wall.
- 49:13Yeah, like, hard. Because he's like, not standing
- 49:15in line. Is he about like basic?
- 49:17Training in the Marines, like having friends that have gone
- 49:20through it. Yeah.
- 49:21It sounds like the movies just really.
- 49:23Or maybe it was worse back in the day.
- 49:25Maybe. But like all my friends that
- 49:26went through the Marines were like, yeah, it was kind of, I
- 49:30understand the idea of like a. Lot of those movies being
- 49:31propaganda. So many of them scared the
- 49:34absolute poop out of me. Yes.
- 49:35And I was like, I don't ever want to do this ever.
- 49:38Now, to be fair, I was always kind of a fat kid, so it wasn't
- 49:39likely I was going to do it. And I was flat footed and I wore
- 49:42glasses, but I was like, this doesn't look like fun.
- 49:45This doesn't look. It wasn't like a lot of the the
- 49:47propaganda whenever we were in high school and it was like, you
- 49:49want a Hummer and $50,000? And I was like, hey.
- 49:52That sounds kind of sick. Yeah.
- 49:54And then like, you travel the world.
- 49:55Did. Did.
- 49:57Recruitment people come to your high school and do like the pull
- 49:59up our thing, yes, they're like. Who wants a shirt?
- 50:01They want the. 1. Where you see it's because they.
- 50:03Know nice you. Know it's like.
- 50:06You're I don't know. I feel like some bugs.
- 50:08Know when they're stepping on a Venus flying trap and they're
- 50:10like oh, I still got to get some goodies out of this.
- 50:12Sure, it's like you go up to the pull up bar and you're like, I
- 50:14know what they're here for, but I still want to just I want that
- 50:17shirt. I don't want.
- 50:18To get I. Also kind of just want to like
- 50:19show. Off yeah definitely knew those
- 50:21kids definitely knew those kids but yeah man there was like one
- 50:24of the really bizarre things I don't know if you saw this in in
- 50:26your research. I didn't know that for the first
- 50:29like I think it was like 2 weeks or like a month after 911 Osama
- 50:32bin Laden came out and he was like, we didn't, I didn't do
- 50:35this really. Yeah, he completely, he was
- 50:37like, no, had no part in this. And then it wasn't until I
- 50:40really, it was like 2 weeks or a month later he was like, yeah,
- 50:42did that. And it's like, OK, like that's
- 50:45a, that's a bizarre thing. Like because you would think,
- 50:48it's not like like we were going to or we were potentially, we
- 50:52were trying to find him anyway to take him out.
- 50:55So it's not like that would change 2 weeks later.
- 50:57So you'll think it like ended. Up being worse than they like
- 51:00even intended for it to be. What ended up being?
- 51:03Worse, kind of like the. Like for al Qaeda, like it
- 51:07exceeded their expectations, you're saying?
- 51:09Yeah, like. There was a moment.
- 51:13Of like, oh, shoot. Oopsie.
- 51:15Maybe, but I would have to imagine.
- 51:18They were probably just intent on destroying as much as
- 51:20possible. Well, yeah, especially because
- 51:22give. Them a chance to get.
- 51:24Away. I don't know, because I don't
- 51:26know at any point if we really had a good well, I don't know.
- 51:31I don't know if at any point we had a really good track on Osama
- 51:33bin Laden until we did, and then we took him out.
- 51:36Yeah. You know, because.
- 51:37I think other. Countries hit him, so maybe he
- 51:40said it wasn't him he'd be more willing to like well, and I
- 51:43forgot. There was 1 country in
- 51:44particular that like very clearly was like in working with
- 51:49him and they blatantly hit him. Do you know, do you know what
- 51:52I'm talking about? It was like I.
- 51:53Don't know, I don't understand. It was somebody, one of the
- 51:56stands. Yeah, it was somebody who like.
- 51:58Eventually came out and they're like we kind of fumble the ball
- 52:01with this and it's like this. This was clearly like a high
- 52:04level thing that you guys knew you had Osama, the number one
- 52:08guy in the world, and you just didn't let anybody know.
- 52:10Israel. Yeah, Israel thing is weird.
- 52:14Did you see some stuff about that?
- 52:15No. What's the Israel thing?
- 52:16OK, so. There's.
- 52:17A couple of things and I know a lot about this.
- 52:18I think this is another situation.
- 52:20Well, I love them just kidding just kidding, just kidding.
- 52:22I don't anyway by the I love the land, not the people, but Oh my
- 52:27goodness gracious, I know. Can I like?
- 52:29That is beautiful. That's incredible.
- 52:31You look so handsome. So yeah, sorry you.
- 52:34Do look like? You're dude, I'll just push that
- 52:37at the end of the. Episode you just learned your
- 52:39high school. Sweetheart is pregnant and
- 52:40you're like, I gotta get, that's actually a part of Black Snake
- 52:42Mountain. Is it really?
- 52:43You should. Watch that movie.
- 52:44That's a really. Good movie, it's brutal.
- 52:46Look how much hair is behind. You like, it's like shaving a
- 52:50dog, dude, there's a. Lot of hair.
- 52:53Why do you keep comparing me? To a dog.
- 52:55Because you're a good boy. I mean, I can tell you why.
- 52:57But you know, bleeps and such. Yeah, the Israel stuff is weird.
- 53:02So like, it's a very famous story now that on the day of
- 53:05911, there was, well, First off, there was a van, there was a
- 53:08white van that the FBI was trying to find, I forget the the
- 53:12name that was on the side, but they were trying to find it.
- 53:14And it was driven by, I believe, 4 Israeli gentlemen who were
- 53:19seen like proudly celebrating in the streets, like in New York,
- 53:24that whenever 911 bless you had happened and whenever the cops
- 53:29eventually found them, because they found them, I think like
- 53:31that day, they very bluntly to the cops, they were like, we're
- 53:34not your issue. We're not your enemy.
- 53:37And from some of the other things that I saw, Netanyahu
- 53:40also had some very weird comments around the same time.
- 53:42Of course, he did. Where?
- 53:43He was like. And it was a it was a hidden
- 53:46camera thing that was recorded whenever he was like hanging out
- 53:49amongst friends. But he talks very oddly about
- 53:53how America can be easily controlled.
- 53:57America can be very easily. I, I forget the exact
- 54:01terminology he uses, but like, they can be swayed very easily.
- 54:04And like what it means to do that, I, I don't know.
- 54:09And I think part of it also, and I think either the four Israeli
- 54:13men or Netanyahu or somebody in in Israel was trying to connect
- 54:19it to Palestine, trying to say that it was Palestinians who had
- 54:23who had like, taken part in the attacks.
- 54:26And that's part of the reason why they were so happy.
- 54:27But was because they thought that they had done this and then
- 54:31America would step into their conflict with Palestine.
- 54:34Yeah. And then.
- 54:35Yeah. And we had nothing to do with
- 54:38that. So thankfully, that never
- 54:39happened. Yeah.
- 54:40Right. What?
- 54:41What? Yeah.
- 54:42So, yeah. Like, I think 911 is a very good
- 54:45example of there can be two things true at the same time.
- 54:50There can be a genuine thing that can seem like a conspiracy,
- 54:54but it isn't really. I mean, it's a conspiracy
- 54:56amongst the terrorists, but it's not a conspiracy necessarily
- 54:59within the federal government. But there can also be people who
- 55:02take advantage of situations, people who don't do things
- 55:06properly as they should, who don't vet things properly, who
- 55:10don't do proper background checks and all of that, and then
- 55:13take advantage of the horrific events takes.
- 55:16Me off what grinds? My gear, Go ahead, hold up,
- 55:19said. Why go ahead?
- 55:19We know the response of. The US, like, what was that
- 55:23like? Even the movie, I know it's I'm
- 55:24quoting a movie, but the report or whatever, with all of the
- 55:28things that we did after 9/11 and trying to like interrogate
- 55:33people and how we like, it's really illegal.
- 55:37You ever seen those photos? Some of the photos from like the
- 55:39black sites no like. Dude.
- 55:41Men in like black bags over their head standing up on like a
- 55:46standing up on like a, a, a bucket with like dogs
- 55:49surrounding them, barking at them.
- 55:51And like all the bizarre ways that we tried to like elicit
- 55:54information out of people. Again, the guy who I can't name
- 55:57or think of, but the guy who we still have in custody, like it
- 56:01is documented he has been waterboarded like 140 times.
- 56:04We had him for years before he even admitted to being like the
- 56:08Co conspirator of 911 but I think that big.
- 56:11Cover up, because it was a big cover up for the US It's like
- 56:14one of the biggest ones that come out, I think makes people
- 56:18more like question 911. Well, again, yeah.
- 56:21It's like because the government does do sketchy stuff and we
- 56:24know they do sketchy stuff all the time, and that's what makes
- 56:27it so crummy whenever it's like, I just don't think this was one
- 56:30of them. I think there were certain
- 56:32things that they should have taken more seriously.
- 56:34I think the, I think the the people who created the Dang twin
- 56:38towers, which funnily enough, Donald Trump, like years later,
- 56:43essentially wanted to rebuild the twin towers exactly how they
- 56:47had been made, feels like a bad idea.
- 56:48Yeah. And that's that's a big part of
- 56:50the reason. Why it got it didn't?
- 56:52Get passed no but what I was saying.
- 56:54Earlier You know what pisses me off?
- 56:55Tell me what grandson Warriors doesn't do their job?
- 56:58Yes. There were a lot of people.
- 57:01In the events leading up to 911, that had a job to do.
- 57:03And you know what? They didn't do their job.
- 57:06Yeah, yeah. Very true.
- 57:08Insure Hindsight 20. 20 and you can look back like it was so
- 57:10obvious, you know, but it is kind of like one of those things
- 57:13and maybe it's this is just where I guess it's just the
- 57:16government being the government. It's like, man, this is your job
- 57:19and this would have never happened.
- 57:21Yeah, but you know, that's just a humble soldiers opinion.
- 57:24So yeah, a real Marine. Of the Lord is it stolen valor
- 57:27for? Me to look like this, like I
- 57:29won't say anything bad but like I think you should start
- 57:30wearing. Like army fatigues.
- 57:32I feel like that's. Definitely stolen valor.
- 57:34You just like the way you look the worst.
- 57:36Job in the world, I have to say no, no, like not.
- 57:38Terrible. It's not great.
- 57:40Well, also. Are you doing a different number
- 57:43on the top? Than the sides.
- 57:44Yeah, OK. I was going to say, if you're
- 57:45not then you're just giving it a buzz cut, but yes.
- 57:48I look like Sid off a Toy Story, yes.
- 57:52Yeah, you do actually. Don't I?
- 57:56Dang it now she's not. You got AV, you got a, you got
- 57:58a, you got a wide V going on. He's got AI got.
- 58:02A conehead? Oh, you got a conehead?
- 58:04I got a conehead. And then I I got a big knot
- 58:08right here when I was trying to ramp a bicycle off of like a 56
- 58:13foot ledge and I just went face first into concrete.
- 58:16Oh my. Gosh, And then I got hit with a.
- 58:18Baseball bat right here. I'm proud because I'm somehow
- 58:23he's a guy still. Kicking and he's like, yeah,
- 58:25I've been through some things. It's it's it's a tiny.
- 58:28Noggin. All right, well, I didn't know
- 58:32it was a. Competition, I thought, we wish
- 58:34but. It's not even that bad because
- 58:35women can take pain better racing.
- 58:37Oh, that's true. So whatever.
- 58:38Like that's like one guy concussion.
- 58:40Yeah, that's very true actually. That's why I can do the math.
- 58:43That's boy math right there. That's boy math, brother.
- 58:47Yeah, love that anyways. Thoughts on 9/11?
- 58:52Horrific tragedy that a lot of people took advantage of and
- 58:56could have been avoided if other people did their jobs properly.
- 59:00Yeah, at the same time, I don't I can't imagine how much
- 59:05information, not to play devil's advocate for the government.
- 59:09I can't imagine how much information, how many threats,
- 59:12how how many things come through, whether it be the CIA
- 59:15or the FBI's desk or one big desk every day.
- 59:19Well, there was also people like a lot of the conspiracy theories
- 59:22are like, well, listen to what this guy said in 1990.
- 59:25And it's like it's all also very vague and general clock is.
- 59:29Right. The guys of America will be
- 59:31attacked. It's like.
- 59:33OK, now whenever it's. Like when people like, are like,
- 59:36oh, the stock market's going to crash and they just say it every
- 59:38month. And then finally it happens and
- 59:40it's like, Congrats, let's get there.
- 59:43Oh. My gosh.
- 59:44Oh no. Wrap it up.
- 59:44Wrap. It up, wrap it up shopper
- 59:46circling our position right now. That's actually a little.
- 59:49It's a little eerie. They're coming to get you, John.
- 59:53No, it's John Cena. He's going to come say hi.
- 59:55Yeah, if we beat the hell out of.
- 59:56US. Honestly, this one, he's just
- 59:58beating it up. I don't have a.
- 1:00:01I mean, I can like try to build you up, but yeah.
- 1:00:04Getting a summer? Cut right is perfect.
- 1:00:07Man, like a newbie in the local Reich.
- 1:00:12Yes, Sergeant. No.
- 1:00:20That's no in German, no. Shout out to our German
- 1:00:24listeners and viewers if. You're a German listening right
- 1:00:27now or maybe just in Germany. Apologize.
- 1:00:30No, I was going to say let us know.
- 1:00:31That's kind of sick. That is kind of sick.
- 1:00:33Yeah, Yeah. But yeah, I mean, final thoughts
- 1:00:36is just I don't see, I haven't seen enough.
- 1:00:38And maybe I just haven't been on enough, you know, backwater
- 1:00:43Internet websites are not in the the dark net enough to see
- 1:00:47anything that actually is substantive.
- 1:00:50Anything. Yeah, canaling anything that is
- 1:00:53that like, makes sense. That stands to muster.
- 1:00:56I think 911 just happened because again, a lot of people
- 1:00:59weren't doing their jobs and a lot of, and an actual cabal plan
- 1:01:04to do a terrorist act and it came to fruition and thankfully
- 1:01:07they didn't going back to kind of what city was saying.
- 1:01:10I think part of the reason they probably weren't surprised at
- 1:01:13the damage is because they wanted a lot more to be done.
- 1:01:16And one of the very quickly, one of the kind of scary things was
- 1:01:21one of the flights, the, the, the pilots for the flight like
- 1:01:24barely passed his like flight test And like it's known.
- 1:01:28And the, his, his flight instructor said, yeah, he would
- 1:01:32get it, you know, get it pretty well up in the air.
- 1:01:34And then once he had it up in the air, he just didn't really
- 1:01:36care to land it. And it's like, jeez, dude.
- 1:01:40Like that's yeah, that's that's very scary.
- 1:01:43I went to fly instructor. Because they all went to the
- 1:01:45same flight school, surely that flight instructor has.
- 1:01:48I think only one of them went to.
- 1:01:49Flight school well maybe, maybe there was one from each group
- 1:01:53maybe, but I from what I was like watching and listening to
- 1:01:56there was like 1 main guy who was like in.
- 1:01:58Florida. Well, if there was more than one
- 1:02:00of them, I want that flight instructor to write a book.
- 1:02:02I bet he has. Like, that's another thing.
- 1:02:04A lot of it was like cash then, huh?
- 1:02:06Why'd you think it was a he? Do you think that women can be
- 1:02:08pilots? Well, no, probably technically.
- 1:02:12Getting laid again? What?
- 1:02:14Go ahead. What?
- 1:02:16Did you say I was talking about? Women, women's rights.
- 1:02:19Shout out to baby number. Three.
- 1:02:21Yeah, well. Oh.
- 1:02:22Snap. Are we doing 2?
- 1:02:23I wanted that one with like 5 in it.
- 1:02:25It was just looking at 3 funny. Yeah, so do you.
- 1:02:28Want to explain to them what we're doing now?
- 1:02:29Oh wait, hold up. What are your final thoughts on
- 1:02:319/11? Sorry, tragedy.
- 1:02:33Yeah, I think the research that we did just even more cemented
- 1:02:37like, yeah, not a conspiracy stuff in there that's like,
- 1:02:43definitely sketchy at best. But like, I feel like it all has
- 1:02:46explanation. Weird art exhibits.
- 1:02:48That happened in the the towers. Like did you see the thing about
- 1:02:53there were some some students who got permission from the twin
- 1:02:57towers to go up to I believe one of the towers and only light up
- 1:03:00certain windows. And this is another thing that
- 1:03:03people point to and they do the ominous music, but to only light
- 1:03:06up certain windows. And it said some like vague
- 1:03:08thing and then that area was very close to where one of the
- 1:03:12planes hit, as if you can't. Tell which towers are the twin
- 1:03:16towers though. And also it's like.
- 1:03:18They were kind of up towards the top.
- 1:03:20So the whole thing was supposed to be like an art exhibit to
- 1:03:22kind of like it, like whatever. And it's like, well, they would
- 1:03:25probably put that up there anyway because also, you know,
- 1:03:27who's just. Artistic is Frick, New York.
- 1:03:30True, everyone in the New York things are.
- 1:03:33Oh my gosh. Yeah.
- 1:03:33What'd you say again? What?
- 1:03:36New Yorkers. Yeah, it's like, wow, that's
- 1:03:38another thing is like. Weird things happen, weird
- 1:03:41coincidences happen in life, genuinely, and then also just
- 1:03:45terrible things happen. But yeah, man, So what we're.
- 1:03:47Going to do now, gang is we're going to RIP a pack, a couple of
- 1:03:51packs, but I'm going to have Ben RIP them and I'm just going to
- 1:03:55tell a funny story. So there's kind of like mental
- 1:03:57stimulation. I think that's what the kids
- 1:04:00call it. Like you can visually watch.
- 1:04:03Yeah, you can like. You can watch.
- 1:04:07Ben, open up, you know, cards and such, and I'll tell you a
- 1:04:09fun little story. And it's kind of like the best
- 1:04:12of both worlds, right? So this is the story of the time
- 1:04:15that I pretended to be blind in Las Vegas for my buddy Mickey's
- 1:04:2022nd birthday. Okay.
- 1:04:22Flew down to LA because his college was in LA.
- 1:04:25It's spring break. We're Spring Breakers.
- 1:04:27I'm 22. Just to set the record straight,
- 1:04:30he's 22. Who would you get?
- 1:04:34See, I need you to pay attention, Josh.
- 1:04:35I'm sorry I got whatever this full art was.
- 1:04:37I cannot read. That.
- 1:04:39Language. It is in Japanese.
- 1:04:42So this was our kind of cheapest pack whenever we went to the
- 1:04:44card shop the other day. Part of the reason I think
- 1:04:46because it's in Japanese. Also because it's only like 5
- 1:04:49cards. But we pulled a full art, full
- 1:04:50art out of that. That's pretty soon, so I'm gonna
- 1:04:52pick this. Up real quick, sorry to
- 1:04:53interrupt your story. The number of packs we've ripped
- 1:04:57that were full price and whatever, and then we get one,
- 1:04:59five cars, whatever, and it's a freaking full art.
- 1:05:02All right, continue with your physical story.
- 1:05:04The plan was. The plan was we're going to go
- 1:05:07out to Vegas to celebrate Mickey's 22nd birthday, drive
- 1:05:11out there and just have a good night, OK?
- 1:05:13And I want everyone to keep in mind this is when I was in
- 1:05:15college, so I wasn't making very good decisions.
- 1:05:17I think in general he was gay so.
- 1:05:19No, that's not. True.
- 1:05:20I'm sorry, that's not true. Oh, for you guys that don't
- 1:05:22know, like Mickey, the guy that I'm talking about, he's the dude
- 1:05:24that was in the jump shot in music video, the one that Ben
- 1:05:27calls my handler. So I guess you can connect those
- 1:05:30dots. So we go out to Vegas.
- 1:05:34We get settled to call it a Chinese finger trap.
- 1:05:36Right. I'm like, gosh, it's called.
- 1:05:38They call it docking. I'm just.
- 1:05:42Going to do this. Josh has excessive foreskin and
- 1:05:45that's what he used. What are we talking about?
- 1:05:54Vegas? We're talking about Vegas.
- 1:05:56It's normal. So we are.
- 1:05:58To Vegas, we get settled in because we were broke college
- 1:06:00students, we're staying at a motel AIDS that's like right off
- 1:06:03the strip and we were broke. We were in college.
- 1:06:08I flew spirit to get there and I tell Mickey, hey, it's your
- 1:06:13birthday let me go get some brews for the boys.
- 1:06:15Let me go get some brewskies. OK, let me get some brewskies.
- 1:06:19So I, I go to the liquor stove to get some brewskies for the
- 1:06:22boys to have a good night responsibly.
- 1:06:24And I realized I don't have my ID now as a lot of you guys see,
- 1:06:30I still get carded. You just, you know, I'm, I'm
- 1:06:33aging super well right now, especially with my recent
- 1:06:35haircut. At this time I could not pass
- 1:06:37for a 21 year old, right? So go in no.
- 1:06:40ID the guy's like I can't sell you these course lights and I
- 1:06:43was like, well this is depressing.
- 1:06:45I realized I left my ID in LA right so.
- 1:06:48I go back to the. Room, it's night.
- 1:06:50Nightfall is upon us, and Mickey's looking at me like
- 1:06:53you're ruining my birthday. Actually, he told me that
- 1:06:55because we couldn't get into any casino, we couldn't go anywhere
- 1:06:59in Vegas because I couldn't prove to anyone I was 21 years
- 1:07:01old. Yeah, OK.
- 1:07:03So you had to make sure you had a good birthday?
- 1:07:06Yeah, I'm. Yeah.
- 1:07:08I'm sorry you're such. Wait.
- 1:07:11You're such a sensitive dude. I thought with your little
- 1:07:14jarhead haircut you'd be a lot tougher.
- 1:07:16No. And be like, no, dude, no.
- 1:07:18That means that I wear my. Heart on my sleeve, yeah, is.
- 1:07:22That what you call the excess is that.
- 1:07:26A. Is that a bottom or ceiling?
- 1:07:27Is that a what? Yeah.
- 1:07:29The bug. Oh well.
- 1:07:31So anyways, in the most non. Oh my gosh.
- 1:07:33Dude, yeah, please tell your story.
- 1:07:39Whatever work babe. And a girl.
- 1:07:41I make one. Joke about your husband's
- 1:07:43snakes. Oh my God, please.
- 1:07:52Tell me how you made his birthday.
- 1:07:53Good, good. So we're back at.
- 1:07:56The hotel room, which had two beds by the way, just want to be
- 1:08:00super clear there. And then?
- 1:08:03Mickey's pissed at me because he's like, you're running my
- 1:08:04birthday. We can't go gamble.
- 1:08:05We can't do anything. Please.
- 1:08:07Yeah. And so I realize.
- 1:08:09Man, what is one way? I'm just trying to think how can
- 1:08:12I get into a casino? Oh, OK, you know, yes, that's
- 1:08:15what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about how can.
- 1:08:17We get into a casino so that we can gamble and lose all our
- 1:08:19money and have fun, and then it hits me.
- 1:08:23You know who doesn't have driver's licenses?
- 1:08:27Blind people. How do blind people get carded?
- 1:08:33OK, right? Is that true it?
- 1:08:36Certainly rang true for me at the ripe age of 22 in Las Vegas.
- 1:08:39Makes sense so far it's more. Uncomfortable carding.
- 1:08:43I think it's also kind of like. The wheelchair index, like, hey,
- 1:08:45I want to be nice to this person.
- 1:08:46They're blind. So you know what I did?
- 1:08:47Blind index. I threw on my sunglasses.
- 1:08:49Yeah, from the beach. And we walk into, I think it was
- 1:08:52The MGM, the same, like, area where we had been turned away
- 1:08:56hours earlier. Yeah, new, new security guard or
- 1:08:59whatever. And I've got my hand on Mickey's
- 1:09:01shoulder and I'm acting like I'm blind.
- 1:09:03Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so I, like, bump in like a
- 1:09:05bump into people, like all this stuff.
- 1:09:07And the guy literally just lets us through.
- 1:09:10So then, yeah. So then, tricky part, right?
- 1:09:13We wanted to play blind. Valor.
- 1:09:15Yeah, that is kind of crazy. All right.
- 1:09:18My my friend Andy at the time, her mom was blind and her mom
- 1:09:22found out about the story and she said hell yeah, blinded up.
- 1:09:25So I think I have the blind actually.
- 1:09:27Yeah, blinded up. So that that was step one.
- 1:09:30But Step 2 was OK, now we have to sit down at a table, which as
- 1:09:34you know, when you go to a casino, when you sit down, they
- 1:09:35say IDs, right? Got to show up another variable
- 1:09:40here. So I'm keeping the blind act up.
- 1:09:42We sit down at a blackjack table and.
- 1:09:45Colour Jack. Sure, you can call it what you
- 1:09:49want. I call it yeah.
- 1:09:52Head of 1/2 black household. Yes.
- 1:09:54Yeah, I will. You have to continue the story.
- 1:09:58I know, but I'm like, yeah. So we sit down at the table and
- 1:10:02I just keep the blind act going. The lady doesn't question it.
- 1:10:05Again the dealer, She looks at Mickey's Idi.
- 1:10:09I've been very blatant, like in my convincing, like I'm a blind
- 1:10:12person. And for the rest of the night,
- 1:10:14we played blackjack for Polly. Six hours, I kid you not, every
- 1:10:18time she would throw me cards, I would turn to Mickey and be
- 1:10:20like, what am I showing? What is she showing?
- 1:10:23OK, OK, what did I get? And then there the night went.
- 1:10:28Now this is where again, we had to ask for forgiveness.
- 1:10:32Drinks are free when you sit down at a table in Las Vegas.
- 1:10:36And I may have over served myself.
- 1:10:37And there were certainly points later in the night where I'm
- 1:10:40like pulling my glasses down like, oh, I think the lady knew
- 1:10:45which I lost like $500.00. So that's kind of what I get.
- 1:10:48Nice. We planned meticulously for this
- 1:10:50for like a year. Like we're going to go to Vegas
- 1:10:53first time all for you to just forget your.
- 1:10:54ID and lose all my money. Yeah, trippy.
- 1:10:57Wow, that's. Vegas for you.
- 1:10:58Man, so yeah, lost all my money and I didn't, I think.
- 1:11:02I thought you did. Yeah.
- 1:11:03You know, monster's like ADHD. You're like lost all my.
- 1:11:08Money. We got into a fight with a
- 1:11:11ginger that was just running his mouth and then we went home and
- 1:11:15that was how I I. I just remember him.
- 1:11:18Being so bright red real spell, did you guys just.
- 1:11:21Beat the hell out of him. Or like, it was kind of like a
- 1:11:22scuffle. And then someone like separated
- 1:11:25it pretty quick. Did he beat your guys?
- 1:11:27211 he was holding you guys like this.
- 1:11:29If we're like, I left out, he became a muppet again.
- 1:11:34Like he's like, no, he wasn't a very.
- 1:11:38Intimidating ginger. Some gingers are like offensive
- 1:11:40lineman ginger. And you're like, oh, you're for
- 1:11:42sure like Midwestern scary tough.
- 1:11:44Not him. OK, not him.
- 1:11:45Well, so yeah, don't pretend to be blind.
- 1:11:49It's not going to go well. It'll be a fun story.
- 1:11:51You're going to lose all your money and you're going to get in
- 1:11:53a fight with a ginger. We should.
- 1:11:55At a certain point in the future, we should talk about if
- 1:11:58we believe that Helen Keller really had those things that she
- 1:12:01claimed she had. Because I had thoughts.
- 1:12:04That's what your. Conspiracy theory in 100%.
- 1:12:08Interesting I. Mean I wouldn't die on.
- 1:12:10The Hill. But I mean, I kind of.
- 1:12:11Did you ever watch the Helen Keller movie?
- 1:12:14I think they don't. Watch and she's like.
- 1:12:16Yeah, which doesn't make any sense because she's deaf and a
- 1:12:18blind, she said. That's how she sounded like
- 1:12:21that. I'll pull up the clip right now.
- 1:12:22She can like, feel people's. Lip like you can feel how
- 1:12:24someone says it, but how would she?
- 1:12:26Know that if you if you, but it's based on your real life.
- 1:12:33Wait, Helen Keller wasn't? Fictional.
- 1:12:35Totally accurate. Helen Keller was a.
- 1:12:37Real person. Yes, I'm kidding.
- 1:12:39OK, Josh, No, you can't do that. Anyway, for another time, let us
- 1:12:44know if you want to help the one with the Helen Keller debate.
- 1:12:48Sydney, I don't know. What if we wait?
- 1:12:51What if we I? Have an idea?
- 1:12:54Hey guys, let us know if this would actually be funny.
- 1:12:55I'm just literally off the RIP right here.
- 1:12:57What if we had a Helen Keller episode where we were both
- 1:13:00blind? Where we were both Helen Keller.
- 1:13:02Yes, and we literally just have to.
- 1:13:03Talk and hope that it's going, Really.
- 1:13:05Like we just. Like you can.
- 1:13:09What? So I'm gonna tell a story.
- 1:13:12Yeah, that would be I would. Actually genuinely wonder to do
- 1:13:15it too. Do you ever have you ever this
- 1:13:18whatever, it's a long one. Who cares?
- 1:13:19Have you ever like kept your eyes closed or like covered one
- 1:13:22eye for a long time and then gone into a dark room?
- 1:13:24Yes, and you see differently right, For sure.
- 1:13:26I wonder, and this is such a stupid comparison, but if we
- 1:13:29like you couldn't hear yourself because that's part of the
- 1:13:32reason why and it's not being rude for somebody.
- 1:13:35Your wife looks at me in a certain way.
- 1:13:37Why deaf people sound like that, right?
- 1:13:39Because they can't hear themselves and they so then they
- 1:13:42talk like that, right? I.
- 1:13:44Wonder if at a? Certain amount of time if you
- 1:13:46did that for long enough, obviously not over the course of
- 1:13:48a podcast, but if we would talk differently does that make sense
- 1:13:52yes, for sure you would I. Think so?
- 1:13:53I don't think. It's fully possible because they
- 1:13:58can't even hear their inner ear. Like if you cover your ears.
- 1:13:59Yeah, you can still hear yourself vibration.
- 1:14:02Oh, I'll see the screen real quick.
- 1:14:03OK, I didn't hear anything. Wow, that was a loud.
- 1:14:07Screen that was actually crazy it.
- 1:14:08Actually peaked all the mics you just woke up all. 17 children,
- 1:14:13yeah. You what I thought you said I I
- 1:14:15peaked and I was like, Oh my gosh.
- 1:14:18Anyway, doesn't matter. We can talk about it off.
