  Speaker 1: talked about it on The Uncrowned Wrestling Show, which you

  Speaker 1: bit on TNT last night, but not here on the stream.

  Speaker 1: into all the things that happened tonight on what I

  Speaker 1: thought was a strong show. I enjoyed Dynamite tonight, but

  Speaker 1: I went back after I came back from Las Vegas,

  Speaker 1: and I wanted to watch the entire show from start

  Speaker 1: to finish because I had the title change spoiled from me,

  Speaker 1: which I figured it would be. So I knew that

  Speaker 1: Darby won the championship, but all I knew was that

  Speaker 1: he beat MJF in two minutes. He squashed MJF basically
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: to win the AW World title last week, and my
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: first thought was again second time in the last three
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: months that the world champion has been squashed on television.

  Speaker 1: One time, you can make the argument for if you
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: have a good enough reason for it. Twice in three
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: months is not something that I would be doing. But
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: I want to go back and watch the entire show,

  Speaker 1: see how it was promoted, and see how the whole
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: thing played out. And I thought they did a good

  Speaker 1: job in terms of that key story last week. Opening

  Speaker 1: the show last week with MJF and Darby in the ring,

  Speaker 1: Darby cutting this impassioned promof he didn't even know he
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: was going to be defending the title. See, he was
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: already in a bad mood, and they were going to
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: do it right at the beginning of the show, and
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: then they said, well, Tony Kain is going to give
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: MJF until the end of the night, so that way
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: there can be no excuses and he can go in
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: there and he can defend his championship. And they had people,
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: you know, really hyping up Darby, you know, good luck
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: tonight in there against MJF. And they brought Sting in
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: for the show. And as soon as I saw a Sting,
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: I said, well, if I was watching the show live,
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: it would have been obvious at that point that Darby's
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: not losing this match. You know, they're Ineffett Washington, they
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: flew sting out there for it. He's not going out
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: there and losing. And then they do the actual match,
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: and what I said said last week is that Darby's
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: probably gonna win, and he's going to either win with
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: a headlock takeover or he's going to counter out of
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: one when MJF tries for one, because it only made sense.

  Speaker 1: I mean, the history with these two guys goes back.

  Speaker 1: It predates AW, it predates their first match in twenty
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: twenty one. This goes back to their time on the
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: Indies together where MJF used a side headlock takeover to
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: be Darby Allen. He went to go use one and

  Speaker 1: Darby was able to counter out of it. He gave

  Speaker 1: MJF a little taste of his own medicine with a nutshot,

  Speaker 1: and he gave him not one, not two, not three,

  Speaker 1: four coffin drops and then picks him up and pins
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: him with a side headlock takeover. Now, if Darby Allen

  Speaker 1: was ever gonna win the AW World Championship from this man,

  Speaker 1: it can only be one way. There had to be
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: a side headlock takeover for the sake of long term storytelling.

  Speaker 1: Just that alone, there had to be a side headlock takeover,

  Speaker 1: so I thought that was clever. And then they trod

  Speaker 1: all the roster members out for the big celebration. Sting

  Speaker 1: comes out and he celebrates with Darby's like, Darby's like

  Speaker 1: a son to him. I was joking last night on TNT,

  Speaker 1: I said that backstage segment when Sting was really trying
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: to hype him up, Darby looked like he was so nervous,
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: and Sting was like, no, it's not showtime, it's your time.

  Speaker 1: Now get out there and show everybody what you can do.

  Speaker 1: And Darby went and walked off, and I said, it
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: looked like a father who was trying to calm his
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: son down, who was very nervous going into school on

  Speaker 1: his first day of class, and he sends his son

  Speaker 1: into the school that get in there and you know,
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: you do the thing. That's what it kind of came
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: across as to me, father and son. It was a
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: nice moment, the celebration everything at the end of the show,
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: the fans cheering, all the guys, you know, the baby
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: faces in the rings celebrating. We've seen moments like this
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: in wrestling over the years, even with world title changes
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: on TV. It's been done before. This is not something
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: that we've never seen before. And I know that there
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: was a lot of divided opinion, a lot of negative
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: opinion when it came to what they did. Having watched
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: the entire thing from start to finish, I thought they
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: did as good of a job as you could do
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: with it, considering how sudden it all was. My issue

  Speaker 1: with is twofold number one. I again, the idea of

  Speaker 1: squashing MJF that way, beating him that easily. Don't want

  Speaker 1: to use the word squash. That's fine, that's what it was.

  Speaker 1: Doing it twice in three months. You shouldn't be doing that,

  Speaker 1: all right, that's number one Now. It's not going to

  Speaker 1: kill MJF. He's not buried. Oh MJF is buried. If

  Speaker 1: all the people on that fucking roster who can absorb

  Speaker 1: MJF is that guy. But I wasn't a fan of that.

  Speaker 1: this company. My issue with them putting the title on

  Speaker 1: him now isn't just that MJF was on this great

  Speaker 1: role and had all these challengers lined up as champion,

  Speaker 1: but Darby just coming into this has not felt as

  Speaker 1: cold as he does right now, Like there are periods

  Speaker 1: of his career in aaw where he was a much
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: hotter babyface, and you can make the argument that maybe
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: now is the time. Right now is the time too,
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: if you were ever gonna put the title on this guy,
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: do it now. This didn't feel like the time, but
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: they picked the right city for it because they were
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: in his backyard, so of course everybody was going nuts
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: and they were chanting his name. The reality is that
• 6:58
  Speaker 1: when even though he may not be as hot of
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: a commodity as he has been at different points in
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: time to their audience, he's still one of the more
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: over popular babyfaces in the company. And you see the
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: celebration at the end of the show last week, and
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: it made for a great moment. MJF comes out this week,
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: as he did on social media all week, and he's
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: just livid. I mean, he's just going off on Darby.

  Speaker 1: Give me my belt back, You're a fucking thief. You
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: hit me in the dick, right, I'm going to sue

  Speaker 1: you and all this other nonsense, because that's what you
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: would expect him to do. That's what I mean, Like

  Speaker 1: it's in the long run, it's not going to hurt him,

  Speaker 1: especially because Darby ain't going to have that title for

  Speaker 1: very long. If you believe the Darby Allen is going

  Speaker 1: to be walking into, for example, Wembley Stadium this summer,

  Speaker 1: or frankly even forbidden Door as the AW World Champion,

  Speaker 1: it ain't happening. I think most of us can look

  Speaker 1: at this and see it for what it is, which

  Speaker 1: is a way to hot shot the belt onto Darby,

  Speaker 1: give him his run, kind of get it over with

  Speaker 1: and get that belt back on MJF as soon as possible.

  Speaker 1: And if that's the goal here and MJF is gonna

  Speaker 1: get the belt back in a month anyway, no harm,

  Speaker 1: no foul. I always said, when Darby Allen wins the

  Speaker 1: AW World Championship, he's not gonna reign for very long.

  Speaker 1: Like Darby is not gonna ever be that guy who's

  Speaker 1: gonna go six months or a year, because the essence

  Speaker 1: of Darby as a character on this show, the essence

  Speaker 1: of who he is, he crashes and he burns, there's

  Speaker 1: no off switch. Think of when he had the TNT championship.

  Speaker 1: was defending that fucking belt every single week until he

  Speaker 1: burned out and he lost it. So it's not gonna

  Speaker 1: be any different now. We see his first title defense

  Speaker 1: up next week. This man is going to crash and burn.

  Speaker 1: when I initially heard the news, but still beating MJF

  Speaker 1: in the way that they beat him in two minutes.

  Speaker 1: That's not something I would have done coming off what

  Speaker 1: they did with Brody King a few months ago. But

  Speaker 1: that brought us to tonight. This was Darby Allen's first
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: week as the AW World Champion. This was their first
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: title defense here for Darby and he was putting that
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: title on the line against Tamaso Champa in the main event.

  Speaker 1: And what a main event they had. These guys went
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: out there for god, what was it, seventeen minutes? Eighteen minutes.

  Speaker 1: They gave them some time and they had a killer

  Speaker 1: main event. Before we got to the main event. I

  Speaker 1: was looking there was a match tonight between Will Ospray

  Speaker 1: and Mark Davis. That was my match of the night

  Speaker 1: until Darby and Shampa went out there and did what
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: they did, and then they cleared the Osprey and Mark
• 10:18
  Speaker 1: Davis match. But we had two killer matches on this show.

  Speaker 1: We had the main event, which then set up Brody
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: King as the next number one contender challenger what have
• 10:28
  Speaker 1: you for the AW World title on the show next week,

  Speaker 1: So that train keeps going. Darby's going to be defending

  Speaker 1: that belt every single week. And we also had will

  Speaker 1: Ospray and his bad neck out there against Mark Davis. Now,

  Speaker 1: if you've watched these reviews or listened to these reviews,

  Speaker 1: you know that I had become a fan of Mark
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: Davis over these last few months, and that was not
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: the case six months ago. Six months ago, Mark Davis
• 10:54
  Speaker 1: was Okay. He's that guy in the Don Kallis family
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: who is sort of you know, he's kind of lost
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: in the shuffle there because he had a tag team
• 11:03
  Speaker 1: partner and now he doesn't. And even in January they
• 11:06
  Speaker 1: gave him another tag team partner, and then he got
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: hurt and I'm like, man, this guy can't catch a break.
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: And in between that Davis got hurt, he was just
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: a background player in the Kallus family that they could
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: throw in there when they needed a guy to go
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: in there and lose, and that was it. But over
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: time he's actually dropped some weight too. But over time
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: he goes out there and he just has these really
• 11:29
  Speaker 1: fun kind of brawling type matches. And I don't know,
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: there aren't too many people on that roster, or at
• 11:36
  Speaker 1: least anybody that's pushed that they have like that. That
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: just comes across as like a almost like an old
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: school kind of brawling type. Everybody has their flashy fucking
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: moves and their dives and everything else that they do,
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: and that's not really his style. So I've become a
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: fan of his work because he's put together this string
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: of just really fun matches, none more so than tonight

  Speaker 1: against will Osbry, who also has put together I mean,
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: no surprise it's well Osprey, but has also put together
• 12:03
  Speaker 1: a string of very good matches on TV recently. You
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: put the two of them together, no surprise, they went
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: out there and they had an excellent match. So to me,

  Speaker 1: those were the two highlights of the show tonight. They

  Speaker 1: also set up a TNT championship match for next week's show.

  Speaker 1: Two title matches next week Darby and Brody King. But

  Speaker 1: also MJF is going to be challenging Kevin Knight, and

  Speaker 1: that one's a little a little suss to me, considering

  Speaker 1: we know what title MJF is going after. Why are

  Speaker 1: they diverting him to another championship. But they've already set
• 12:34
  Speaker 1: up two big title matches for next week, And also

  Speaker 1: on this show tonight, Brody King had a match earlier

  Speaker 1: in the night and he wrestled Leo Rush. The Leo
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: Rush has. I believe this was a character that he
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: portrayed at one time previously. I believe I could be
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: wrong about that. Even still, there has been no explanation
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: on this show anyway as to why all of a
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: sudden Leo Rush has lost his mind. He looks like
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: Dollum when he comes out, and he's muttering to himself,
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: and he's got the wild eyes, and he's kind of
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: galloping around like some kind of weird creature or demon
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: of some kind. And I'm watching what he's been doing
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: off and on because we don't get to see him
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: on Dynamite very often. It's mostly collision or ring of honor.
• 13:22
  Speaker 1: And it's different enough that it's growing on me. It's
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: kind of like a fungus. It's growing on me, and
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: I can appreciate how he is throwing himself into this
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: just wacky character. I believe that we still it would
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: be nice if we had some explanation through vignettes or
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: whatnot as to why all of a sudden he has
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: descended into madness or descended back into madness. We haven't
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: had that. It was like a switch got flipped and
• 13:50
  Speaker 1: all of a sudden, this guy's out of his mind,
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: but he's out there, he's wrestling Brodie King, and I'm
• 13:55
  Speaker 1: enjoying the character work that he's doing because he's throwing
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: himself into this thing. And again, it's differ frint enough
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: on a show where I think it can be hard
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: to be different because everybody wrestles the same everybody they
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: have just very similar styles. A lot of the guys
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: on the show look very similar, not everybody, but it's
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: good to try to be different. Sometimes it works out,
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: sometimes it doesn't. This is just creepy and weird enough
• 14:21
  Speaker 1: to me to where I'm intrigued. And so it was
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: nice to see him get some shine on Dynamite because again,
• 14:26
  Speaker 1: we usually don't get to see him on this show.

  Speaker 1: And as far as the rest of what we had,

  Speaker 1: there was a women's match that was a little choppy
• 14:33
  Speaker 1: in a couple of points. Otherwise I thought that was decent.

  Speaker 1: The other stuff on the show was decent. It really
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: wasn't anything out of you know, excellent, like out of nowhere.
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: Samoa Joe is back, which is nice. He's been in
• 14:47
  Speaker 1: Concussion Protocol for a while. It was great to see
• 14:49
  Speaker 1: Samoa Joe back. So it was an easy two hours
• 14:52
  Speaker 1: for me to watch. I think they had a hard
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: cut off at the top of the hour because I
• 14:55
  Speaker 1: believe they're taping Collision for this weekend as we speak.

  Speaker 1: No big overrun tonight, which is great because we didn't
