Facing life in prison if convicted on conspiracy charges tied to a six-year-old case, Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores plead not guilty as prosecutors push for a June 2027 trial. The defense is mounting a legal challenge over the legality of his “military abduction,” while the judge has yet to set a trial date — and neither Maduro nor Flores have requested bail.
