- Kellie Bourque: Welcome to Leading in Change. My name is Adrien Owen Jones and I am so glad you're here. The partners at Success Labs have been asked many times by friends and colleagues when we would start a podcast. And today we're excited to bring you the more than forty years of wisdom that we've accumulated through working with leaders at all levels across many industries. I want to start by telling you why this podcast exists. Because there are a lot of leadership podcasts out there. And much of that content about management and teams and organizational culture is really good. But we believe most of it lives at a pretty comfortable altitude. I it talks about leadership in the abstract and ideal version, that ⁓ you know, everything goes according to plan. And this podcast is not that. Leading in change is about what it looks like at the ground level in the messy middle. It's when your best employee quits and you just don't know why. When you've been promoted and suddenly the people you used to work alongside are now looking to you for direction. When the organization around you is shifting and you have to make good decisions anyway about who to trust, what to delegate, how to show up. It's for when you're trying to figure out what your career looks like even in the age of AI, or when you know that something needs to change but you don't know how to move it, or when you're doing everything you think a good leader is supposed to do and it's still not working. Those are the same conversations we have with clients and the same ones we're going to have here. I'm a consultant and coach at Success Labs, and we've spent decades working inside organizations across the country, hospitals and plants, in banks and nonprofits, in boardrooms and in factory floors. And what I can tell you after all of that is this. The challenges are different on the surface, but underneath we know that people are people. And the skills that make someone an effective leader, like the ability to communicate clearly, to build trust, and To develop the people around them and to navigate change without losing their team, those skills are learnable, every single one of them. And that is what we believe at Success Labs, that leadership can be learned and should be practiced. So that's what this podcast is all about. In each episode, I'm going to be joined by coaches, colleagues, and consultants who do this work every day. And we're going to get practical, we're going to get real, and we're going to make sure that every conversation leaves you with at least one thing you can bring back to your team right now. Whether you're a first time supervisor still figuring out what success looks like, a mid level manager trying to build something that lasts in a world that won't hold still, an HR leader looking for language and frameworks that will land with your people, or a senior leader that knows that the organization you want to build starts with leadership that you develop, this podcast is for you. ⁓ subscribe, tell a colleague, and let's get into it. I can't wait to introduce you to the people and conversations we have lined up ⁓ I'll see you all in episode one.
