- 0:07Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Rich.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Hey, thanks, Mark.
- 0:14Speaker 4: How you doing?
- 0:14Speaker 1: We got some complaints about you yesterday saying it was
- 0:17Speaker 1: 100 degrees there. It wasn't 100.
- 0:18Speaker 2: No, I said it was going to be 100.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We set a new record yesterday. It was not going
- 0:22Speaker 1: to be 100. We checked. It was not going to
- 0:24Speaker 1: be 100. That was never in the forecast.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Mark, we set a new record yesterday. The old record
- 0:28Speaker 2: was 90 degrees for September 14th of 2020.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Never hit 100. Never hit 100.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It was 94 degrees, and it felt like 104 yesterday.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You didn't say it felt like. Yeah, the high today there, 85. Tomorrow, 84. Mid-80s.
- 0:41Speaker 2: No, the high yesterday was 94 and felt like 104.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It was a brand new record for motorboats.
- 0:47Speaker 1: In South Carolina. Don't say 100 degrees. We got all
- 0:49Speaker 1: kinds of complaints from North Carolina about this.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Nah, nobody's calling you. It was probably Joe Bob.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Sorry. We did. We did. Anyway, let's go to David
- 0:59Speaker 1: in Connecticut. David, how you doing? Good, Mark.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You were talking about the malls. I just want to
- 1:05Speaker 2: let you know there's a crystal mall here in Waterford,
- 1:07Speaker 2: New London area that General K bought out.
- 1:10Speaker 3: And.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They're going to train for building dynamics by electric boat.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Call us back. It's not your fault. There's
- 1:18Speaker 1: something going on with our phone line. It's cutting you off.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It's a little choppy there. Let's go to Michelle in Northport. Michelle,
- 1:24Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 1:26Speaker 4: Hey, I'm good, Mark. So great to speak to you.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I'm just calling because I had some exciting news about
- 1:32Speaker 4: Bruce Blakeman.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:33Speaker 4: He is going to be coming up to the Catskills.
- 1:36Speaker 4: He's coming up to the Delaware Youth Center on October
- 1:40Speaker 4: 3rd in Calicoon, New York.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Oh, that's great. Now give us the exciting news.
- 1:47Speaker 4: That's the exciting news. That's the exciting news.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Come on.
- 1:52Speaker 4: He thinks about the whole state.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this, but he campaigns.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this. He's campaigning every
- 1:57Speaker 1: day all over the state. He makes hundreds of campaign
- 2:00Speaker 1: stops a week. He does this all the time.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:03Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. We're organizing it, so I'm kind
- 2:07Speaker 4: of excited about it.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 2:09Speaker 1: See, you're behind it.
- 2:10Speaker 4: So I just wanted to get it out there.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Are you up in the Catskills?
- 2:14Speaker 4: I live in Northport, but I have a home in Narrowsburg.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I've been going there my whole life, so yes.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And what goes on nowadays in the Catskills? They don't
- 2:22Speaker 1: have those big Concord and Grossingers. What goes on now
- 2:25Speaker 1: in the Catskills?
- 2:27Speaker 4: No, but I got to say, Narrowsburg is now, like,
- 2:30Speaker 4: according to Town and Leisure, is the number one town
- 2:33Speaker 4: in the Catskills. And there's a lot of, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 4: it's a lot of little hotels are opening and Airbnbs
- 2:40Speaker 4: and restaurants. And it's really lively and a lot of
- 2:42Speaker 4: concerts and shows. A lot of things. When I was
- 2:45Speaker 4: growing up and going up there, we just went up
- 2:47Speaker 4: to a little town. There wasn't too much happening. But, yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 4: it's a lot of great restaurants, a lot of great businesses,
- 2:53Speaker 4: and a lot to see and support.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 4: This is coming up, and we're really excited.
- 2:59Speaker 1: But to get to Narrowsburg, you would have to drive
- 3:03Speaker 1: by 50,000 great restaurants in every town all the way
- 3:05Speaker 1: up there. Through Westchester?
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes. Yes, you know, but it's beautiful. You
- 3:11Speaker 4: have the Delaware River and you have the mountains and,
- 3:15Speaker 4: you know, it's a great place to see.
- 3:17Speaker 1: All right. It sounds good. Thanks for calling Arrowsburg. I
- 3:20Speaker 1: never even heard of that. Let's go to Bill in Brooklyn. Bill,
- 3:23Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Hi, Mark. Mark, you know what James Bond's first kill was?
- 3:28Speaker 3: You know, we had that double O license to kill.
- 3:30Speaker 3: It was in New York City. It was in New
- 3:33Speaker 3: York City.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Well, there was one short story where he comes to
- 3:36Speaker 1: New York just to assassinate somebody in Rockefeller Center.
- 3:40Speaker 3: That's right. The RCA building. Very good. Yeah, it was
- 3:42Speaker 3: in Ian Fleming's first book, Casino Royale. He mentions this.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but it was later an actual short story. Later,
- 3:49Speaker 1: he put out a collection of short stories, and there
- 3:51Speaker 1: was one about Bond coming to New York just to
- 3:54Speaker 1: kill somebody. Uh-huh. Just to kill. Remember Carrie Limousine? He
- 3:58Speaker 1: actually rented a Carrie car to Right, right. Get there,
- 4:02Speaker 1: RCA building, shoot somebody through a window, and then.
- 4:05Speaker 3: A Japanese codebreaker. He shot him, right, with a sniper
- 4:08Speaker 3: rifle to his mouth from an adjacent building.
- 4:10Speaker 1: All right, don't get graphic. It's almost lunchtime, but.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. You know, the first Bond movie was
- 4:19Speaker 1: Doctor No. And it's the only Bond movie where James
- 4:23Speaker 1: Bond just shoots somebody. Not in a gunfight. Just goes
- 4:27Speaker 1: in and assassinates somebody. It was the first movie, Dr. No.
- 4:32Speaker 1: He's waiting in this guy, what was his name, Strangways
- 4:35Speaker 1: or something. He's waiting in the guy's hotel room and
- 4:36Speaker 1: the guy comes and Bond has the gun out and
- 4:39Speaker 1: he makes him sit down, talks to him for a
- 4:41Speaker 1: minute and he just shoots him in the head. And
- 4:43Speaker 1: that's what a guy like James Bond would do, license
- 4:45Speaker 1: to kill. He would have to go, he'd be sent
- 4:47Speaker 1: to kill somebody. But they decided, and remember the first movie, Dr. No,
- 4:53Speaker 1: nobody knew what James Bond was. It hadn't taken off yet.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But they decided it didn't look right for him to
- 4:58Speaker 1: shoot somebody in cold blood So they never did it again.
- 5:00Speaker 1: That was the only time in any Bond movie I just,
- 5:03Speaker 1: in cold blood, just shot somebody. Let's go to Blauvelt
- 5:06Speaker 1: in Florida. Blauvelt, how you doing?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Mark Simone, good morning. How are you?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Good.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Hey, you make me laugh so hard. I love your
- 5:16Speaker 5: sense of humor. But on another note... There were two
- 5:21Speaker 5: calls that you had on 9-11. That one girl, Jennifer,
- 5:26Speaker 5: and then right after that, Dr.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Bob.
- 5:29Speaker 5: I'm listening to it. I'm driving home, and I was
- 5:32Speaker 5: in tears.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I played it again that night for my wife, and
- 5:36Speaker 2: she was in tears. It was just.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I mean, there's so many sad stories, good stories.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but she was quite a caller telling her story
- 5:45Speaker 1: of heroism.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It was the call of the year.
- 5:48Speaker 5: You hit the nail on the head.
- 5:49Speaker 1: All right, thanks for calling. Let's go to Stanley, South Carolina. Stanley,
- 5:53Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 5:55Speaker 6: Yeah, Mark, all these municipalities need money. They got the
- 6:00Speaker 6: clocks on, streetlights and red lights and all that. Why
- 6:05Speaker 6: doesn't Trump deputize all the cops? And give the city
- 6:08Speaker 6: five grand for each illegal that they get out of here.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's a great idea. I don't know what the hell
- 6:14Speaker 1: he was talking about. Did you understand that? I don't
- 6:18Speaker 1: understand anything you just said. Hey, when we come back,
- 6:21Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly will be with us next. We've got a
- 6:22Speaker 1: lot to talk to him about on 710WOR.
