- 0:27hundred and ninety five sheep. Realizing that this is quite a lot of sheep
- 0:32for one farm, and Jess, the old sheep dog, is getting tired.
- 0:38He decides he'll probably need a new dog, know, a whole team
- 0:42of dogs to round up so many sheep. So the next day, the
- 0:46farmer goes to the pet store. He looks around at the various herding dogs.
- 0:51They seem very fit, but young and untrained. The shopkeeper asked the
- 0:57farmer if he wants any help. Why. Yes, says the farmer,
- 1:00I need a team of sheep dogs who will help round up my flock.
- 1:06I have a rather large number of sheep, you see, and I don't
- 1:10think any of these young pups would be up to the task of rounding up
- 1:14so many. The shopkeeper says, I've got just the thing for you,
- 1:19and he leads the farmer to a small back room where a single sheep dog
- 1:25sits waiting. Are you sure, asks the farmer. I have very many
- 1:30sheep, and I don't think one dog will be enough to round all of
- 1:33them up. I'm sure, says the shopkeeper. This is a very intelligent
- 1:40dog. He's been well trained for many jobs and has skills beyond any other
- 1:45dog I ever know. Yes, says the dog. I know six languages,
- 1:51eight martial arts, and I have a degree in engineering. The farmer,
- 1:57clearly very impressed by this dog wouldn't be impressed by that, decides to
- 2:01take him home that afternoon. The farmer and the dog walk together up the
- 2:08hill, and from the top they can see the entire flock of eight hundred
- 2:14and ninety five sheep covering all the field. Well, says the farmer,
- 2:21I'd like you to round up all the sheep. Okay, replies the dog.
- 2:27You have around nine hundred sheep. There is a real power to prayer.
- 2:45Prayer can make people and things better. Prayer can make us more positive.

- 5:04Do you know the answer to this week's trivia question? The question was
- 5:11which country originated the sport of curling? The answer Scotland. The sports origins
- 5:19date back to the sixteenth century in Scotland, where players used brooms and stones
- 5:27on frozen lakes and ponds. Curling originated in Scotland. Now you know.
- 5:45Here are two ways that prayer can change us. First, prayer can improve
- 5:51our emotional and mental well being. It reduces stress. Prayer provides a sense
- 5:58of calm and key, which can help reduce stress and anxiety. By focusing
- 6:03on a higher power or a positive intention, prayer can shift our focus away
- 6:10from worries and fears, leading to a more relaxed state of mind. It
- 6:15can also provide emotional support. Engaging in prayer can offer emotional support and comfort
- 6:21during challenging times. It can create a feeling of connection to something greater than
- 6:27oneself. Fostering a sense of hope and resilience. This connection can also provide
- 6:32a sense of being heard and understood, which can be incredibly comforting and validating.
- 6:41Prayer also can provide personal growth and transformation. Self reflection and insight often
- 6:49come with prayer, and it involves introspection and reflection on one's thoughts, actions,
- 6:56and intentions. This practice can lead to greater self awareness and insight,
- 7:00helping people to recognize areas for personal growth and improvement. Through prayer, people
- 7:08can gain clarity on their values, goals, and priorities, leading to more
- 7:13intentional and purposeful living. It can also cultivate virtue. Regular prayer can help
- 7:20cultivate positive virtues such as patience, gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness. By
- 7:27focusing on these qualities and prayer, individuals can become more mindful of embodying them
- 7:32in their daily lives. This transformation can lead to improved relationships, greater empathy
- 7:41for others, and a more compassionate and loving attitude Overall. In essence,
- 7:47prayer can change us by enhancing our emotional wellbeing and fostering personal growth, helping
- 7:55us to become more peaceful, self aware, and virtuous. Individual. Prayer
- 8:01does change things and people. Mother Teresa once said, I used to pray
- 8:20that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now
- 8:24I pray that He will guide me to do whatever I'm supposed to do,
- 8:30what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I'm
- 8:35praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now
- 8:41I know that prayer changes us and we change things. Yes, there is
- 8:50a power to prayer. Thank you for joining us today. Please consider taking
