- 0:00Speaker 1: In this league podcast network, there's Dynasty Sports Life, a
- 0:07Speaker 1: podcast about playing fantasy baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, three
- 0:12Speaker 1: hundred and sixty five days a year. Here's your host,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Jesse Sylvia. Welcome to the Dynasty Sports Life. Jesse Severe
- 0:21Speaker 1: with you to talk about the wonderful world of dynasty
- 0:24Speaker 1: fantasy sports. The calendar has turned into August, and that
- 0:30Speaker 1: means we are getting closer and closer to our favorite
- 0:34Speaker 1: fall sports. I'm sure those of you who play fantasy
- 0:37Speaker 1: are living in the whirlwind of fantasy football talk that
- 0:41Speaker 1: ensues at this time of year, as if it ever ended.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But certainly is it high tide as we come into
- 0:48Speaker 1: the NFL preseason and we hang breathlessly on every single
- 0:52Speaker 1: practice and rotation going on with the teams. But that's
- 0:58Speaker 1: not all. Of course, hockey and basketball are close upon
- 1:02Speaker 1: us and baseball. I'm in some baseball playoffs at this point, people.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of starting the playoffs at the
- 1:07Speaker 1: beginning of August so that you can have an even
- 1:09Speaker 1: number of playoffs or even number of matchups for the
- 1:13Speaker 1: other teams. You can have two week playoffs, which is
- 1:17Speaker 1: a decent innovation. I was slow to it at first,
- 1:19Speaker 1: but I'm all for it now and also to skip
- 1:23Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks when things just get crazy.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But in any event, today will not be about baseball.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It will not be about the behemoth of football. Instead,
- 1:32Speaker 1: it will be about basketball because the dust is settled
- 1:36Speaker 1: and this is the time of year where we need
- 1:38Speaker 1: to fill the NBA talk airwaves with a little bit
- 1:41Speaker 1: of talk about what just happened here, what changed in
- 1:45Speaker 1: the NBA landscape. So today cost us one of our
- 1:49Speaker 1: absolute best buddies talking about NBA Western Conference. Hey, it's
- 1:57Speaker 1: been a few months as we've had cost this econom
- 2:00Speaker 1: of ras ball on to talk some NBA basketball. But
- 2:04Speaker 1: we're going to fix that right now. How are you doing,
- 2:06Speaker 1: cost Us?
- 2:07Speaker 2: I'm Greatus. How about you everything?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm doing great. It's it's the summer, so it
- 2:14Speaker 1: probably you're probably chilling. Probably you need to put on
- 2:17Speaker 1: a light Parker when you go outdoors.
- 2:18Speaker 2: They're in Greece right I'm under an air conditioner right now,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and I need more of that. Okay, it's goes.
- 2:30Speaker 1: We've had an ongoing debate on this show about whether
- 2:32Speaker 1: Europe needs a few more air conditioners, and you and
- 2:34Speaker 1: I think are on the pro column on that for sure.
- 2:37Speaker 2: For sure, I'm sure everyone from the UK and the
- 2:40Speaker 2: Central Europe that was against this this summer they changed
- 2:44Speaker 2: their mind for sure. Ask Craig next time you have
- 2:48Speaker 2: him on the show, ask him his opinion. I'm sure
- 2:50Speaker 2: she would love an air condition right now.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I Craig is the one that I push on this matter.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But Craig, we just don't Our houses aren't built. Craig,
- 2:58Speaker 1: air conditioner. It's real simple, buddy. Yeah, I see. I'm
- 3:01Speaker 1: glad that you're on the side of the converted cost
- 3:03Speaker 1: us are not even converted, but you're just on the
- 3:05Speaker 1: side of righteousness. Yeah. The NBA, the NBA is kind
- 3:09Speaker 1: of resting right now, but boy, it has not rested
- 3:12Speaker 1: for the last couple of months. Man. Have you been
- 3:15Speaker 1: enjoying the exciting off season NBA action?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yes, for sure, it was an exciting ob season. This
- 3:21Speaker 2: one started with a bang and then took a bit
- 3:25Speaker 2: of a slower race, but then exploded again with the
- 3:28Speaker 2: Jillen Brown and the Dele Brown decision number fifty five
- 3:31Speaker 2: or whatever it is. It's always nice to see the
- 3:35Speaker 2: roster changes, the horizes, who did good, who did bud?
- 3:39Speaker 1: What I was what I asked you to come on
- 3:41Speaker 1: today to help me do is now that the dust
- 3:44Speaker 1: is settled, and this isn't really the rookie landing spot show.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I know rookies, you're more focused on the pros and
- 3:53Speaker 1: the guys who are more established and moving around, and
- 3:55Speaker 1: not so much the prospects. But really it's those pros
- 3:58Speaker 1: that are going to make the difference in which teams
- 4:00Speaker 1: are winning and losing for a while. The rookies usually
- 4:03Speaker 1: take a little while the simmer. But you and I
- 4:05Speaker 1: are going to go through the Western Division today or
- 4:08Speaker 1: the Western Conference and talk about the changes that have
- 4:12Speaker 1: happened and what has happened in the complexion of these teams.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Who's moving in, who's going to get a bigger role,
- 4:18Speaker 1: who's got a fill in for some minutes, who's going
- 4:20Speaker 1: to get crowded out, all these types of things that
- 4:23Speaker 1: moves like the Jalen Brown one, which of course that
- 4:25Speaker 1: will be in the East section, but that are happening here.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So we're just going to hit every team, even the
- 4:30Speaker 1: teams that don't have a whole lot of action. We
- 4:32Speaker 1: won't try to I won't try to mention every last
- 4:35Speaker 1: stinking contract and everything, but at least the major changes
- 4:38Speaker 1: we can talk about, and we'll start in the Pacific.
- 4:42Speaker 1: We'll go alphabetically. The Golden State Warriors. They didn't really
- 4:45Speaker 1: do a whole lot of anything. There was a whole
- 4:48Speaker 1: lot of noise around Lebron, and there was a whole
- 4:51Speaker 1: lot of noise about re signing Draymond Green, and then
- 4:55Speaker 1: Quintin Post got offer sheeted, I believe by Memphis, and
- 4:59Speaker 1: he actually moved. He actually moved to a different team.
- 5:04Speaker 1: But this team's still where they were. I guess they
- 5:07Speaker 1: just hope that Jimmy is healthier. What do you think
- 5:10Speaker 1: of the war is going to be pretty much what
- 5:12Speaker 1: we saw last year, except maybe healthy Jimmy. What do
- 5:15Speaker 1: you think custos?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess they try to have another go at
- 5:20Speaker 3: it with the same roster. I'm sure they tried to
- 5:22Speaker 3: sign some of the major names but came up short.
- 5:26Speaker 3: They were mentioned both Aid and with Lebron. But I
- 5:29Speaker 3: think that this team, the direction will be decided early
- 5:32Speaker 3: on in decision. If they see that they can win
- 5:34Speaker 3: some games, maybe they will try to wait for Jimmy
- 5:37Speaker 3: Butler to return from his injury and try to have
- 5:39Speaker 3: one last go with the carry and the Draymond Green nucleus.
- 5:45Speaker 3: But I think this is important because all of the
- 5:47Speaker 3: contracts they signed, they're no trade closest waved. I think
- 5:52Speaker 3: Draymond also had his close waved, So I guess there
- 5:56Speaker 3: is always a possibility that if they see that they're
- 5:59Speaker 3: not I'm caliber roster, which is hard to see right now,
- 6:03Speaker 3: maybe they try to blow things up during the season.
- 6:06Speaker 3: But in terms of fantasy, I think it's pretty much
- 6:09Speaker 3: the same projections like last season, minus Jimmy Butler, and
- 6:14Speaker 3: maybe we take a look at Pisantos, the player that
- 6:17Speaker 3: we didn't no one had in mind lass season, but
- 6:20Speaker 3: he got meaning minutes.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So it's just like a replacement of the Jimmy Butler
- 6:25Speaker 2: means for now. But they are sure team to keep
- 6:28Speaker 2: an eye on if they decide to tear everything down.
- 6:31Speaker 1: For sure, even steps on an expiring contract and it's
- 6:35Speaker 1: got a fifteen percent trade pone. You can't trade staff.
- 6:37Speaker 1: For many ways you can't trade staff. But yeah, there's
- 6:40Speaker 1: nothing else here is nailed down. Apparently Golden State never
- 6:44Speaker 1: gives up no trades. There's this thing where if you
- 6:46Speaker 1: sign a one year contract in the NBA, you have
- 6:50Speaker 1: a no trade set up unless you waive it because
- 6:54Speaker 1: if you get traded then you would lose your bird
- 6:56Speaker 1: rights and your ability to sign for certain things. So guys,
- 6:59Speaker 1: when you're deals can't be traded without their consent. But
- 7:02Speaker 1: Draymond has already pre waived his consent on that as
- 7:05Speaker 1: part of the deal with them. So yeah, it'll be
- 7:06Speaker 1: interesting to see Golden State finally blowing up. That would
- 7:09Speaker 1: be a thing. Nothing ever blows up with the La Clippers.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Things usually move at a glacial pace. Nothing much exciting
- 7:17Speaker 1: ever happens there. No, they are in complete disarray right
- 7:20Speaker 1: now because all we really know about them is that
- 7:23Speaker 1: they've signed Ruey Hatchimara from the Lakers John Collins, they
- 7:28Speaker 1: signed and traded to the Detroit Pistons, and Bogdan Bogdanovic
- 7:32Speaker 1: left and then the real excitement there is the Kawhi
- 7:36Speaker 1: Leonard trade, and if it goes through, Kawhi is gone
- 7:40Speaker 1: and Brandon Ingram and Grady Dick are there. But we
- 7:43Speaker 1: happy idea at least from a basket because really this
- 7:47Speaker 1: could take long a long time, and nobody knows how
- 7:49Speaker 1: we could hurry up and just figure out this trade
- 7:51Speaker 1: stuff before the season. But what's your thoughts on everything
- 7:55Speaker 1: causes the team, the chaos whatever.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, if we try to judge this thing, we have
- 8:01Speaker 3: to take to make the assumption that this trade goes through.
- 8:04Speaker 3: It it might be a huge shock if it doesn't.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But I think it will go through. But we have
- 8:09Speaker 3: to have something to discuss. And if the trade does
- 8:13Speaker 3: go through, I think there is very much fantasy potential
- 8:17Speaker 3: in this team because there is no clear number one
- 8:20Speaker 3: option there, so there is a lot of usage around
- 8:23Speaker 3: and there are a lot of players that can see
- 8:26Speaker 3: a huge bump in their fundacy value there. We can
- 8:28Speaker 3: see maybe there is Garland taking the number one role
- 8:32Speaker 3: for the first time in his career now with Kawhi
- 8:35Speaker 3: Gon or maybe it's Randon Ingram that he has matured
- 8:40Speaker 3: a lot is in his late basketball career years. Let's
- 8:42Speaker 3: say that he's twenty seventy that something like that. Maybe
- 8:45Speaker 3: he's the go to score there and we have some
- 8:49Speaker 3: more fundacy value there, or it's.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Something entirely different. They have their rookie shooting guard in
- 8:58Speaker 2: Kitton Wagler, who will presumably get more playing time as
- 9:02Speaker 2: the season goes on. And I didn't see this team
- 9:06Speaker 2: making the playoffs or making a major push for the playoffs,
- 9:10Speaker 2: So that's something to also consider that maybe they will
- 9:12Speaker 2: try to play some of their younger guys more as
- 9:15Speaker 2: the season goes on. Like Grady Dick.
- 9:17Speaker 3: He didn't show anything substantial in Toronto, but he's still
- 9:20Speaker 3: young and it seems like it's his opportunity to make
- 9:24Speaker 3: or break his NBA career.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So that's another name to watch there.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Everything comes from the quiet trade home, So we wait
- 9:32Speaker 3: and see on this one.
- 9:35Speaker 1: What the heck's the deal with Benedict Mathern, Because at
- 9:38Speaker 1: the time we're recording, he's still not resigned. He's hanging
- 9:41Speaker 1: out there. He's got a qualifying offer on him or whatever,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and and like another team could rfam at this point,
- 9:48Speaker 1: but I don't really hear that's a real excitement for
- 9:51Speaker 1: other people. I thought Benedict Mathern was starting to get
- 9:54Speaker 1: pretty good and last year, technically he would be the
- 9:57Speaker 1: third highest paid player on the team through and he
- 10:00Speaker 1: got his cap hold for this year. But I don't know,
- 10:05Speaker 1: is he gonna you think that this is they're just
- 10:07Speaker 1: slow rolling this because they're going to get him on
- 10:09Speaker 1: a low contract. Is he going to have a big
- 10:11Speaker 1: role for this team or is he an afterthought? What's
- 10:13Speaker 1: the deal.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 10:15Speaker 3: It seems like his ceiling in this league is a
- 10:17Speaker 3: microwave six month scorer, which is a valuable role nonetheless,
- 10:22Speaker 3: but the market has dried up and there is no
- 10:24Speaker 3: cup space left, so I don't know either he takes
- 10:27Speaker 3: the qualifying offer or the Clippers work on a sign
- 10:30Speaker 3: and trade.
- 10:31Speaker 2: There are a few players like this around.
- 10:33Speaker 3: At the moment that we're recording, like jill En Durham,
- 10:35Speaker 3: who hasn't yet made a decision with a qualifying offer.
- 10:39Speaker 3: I think the same is from Jonathan Gaminga who is
- 10:41Speaker 3: still waiting on a siding trade or something.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I think that maybe those those those situations can drag.
- 10:48Speaker 3: On as we get closer to the to the training comes.
- 10:53Speaker 2: But if Mathering resigns, he can have.
- 10:57Speaker 3: A great oportunity to at least to put up some
- 11:02Speaker 3: points in the board, and maybe he takes this one
- 11:06Speaker 3: here as a proven contract to get something the more
- 11:09Speaker 3: next season. It's a risk because we've seen players lose
- 11:12Speaker 3: a lot of money when they take those kinds of contracts,
- 11:14Speaker 3: but the market seems a bit too dry right now.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, It's just I wonder whether I am mistaking the
- 11:22Speaker 1: speed at which the contract is signed with the actual
- 11:27Speaker 1: impact and interest the team will have in him if
- 11:29Speaker 1: they have him. I hope they do because matthern Is
- 11:31Speaker 1: I think he's got some talent. But it's not often
- 11:34Speaker 1: on this show that we can take the one of
- 11:37Speaker 1: the big franchises, one of the money franchises of the league,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and there's actually a lot. They're actually one of the
- 11:45Speaker 1: most exciting to talk about, the freaking Lakers. Many they
- 11:48Speaker 1: have overturned the majority of their roster. They're just they're signing.
- 11:52Speaker 1: They're going nuts like a fantasy team. They're playing NBA
- 11:55Speaker 1: twenty five, NBA thirty five. K I don't know what
- 11:58Speaker 1: they're doing, but they brought in They brought in eight
- 12:02Speaker 1: guys by by what I'm looking at here, and they've
- 12:06Speaker 1: sent out or lost six guys. And that's in addition
- 12:09Speaker 1: to Austin Reeves. Let me give you first of all,
- 12:12Speaker 1: let's talk about Walker Kessler. Because Kessler was a huge deal.
- 12:16Speaker 1: They paid him a small for They paid him one
- 12:18Speaker 1: hundred and thirty million dollars for four years and they
- 12:22Speaker 1: traded a lot of stuff to the Utah Jazz to
- 12:24Speaker 1: get him. He's been injured a lot, but he is
- 12:28Speaker 1: a big man who can do big things when he
- 12:31Speaker 1: is at his peak, and it looks like the Lakers
- 12:34Speaker 1: just counting on him to be the man in the
- 12:35Speaker 1: middle to go along with the Luca Austin Reeves Lakers.
- 12:40Speaker 1: What do you think of Walker Kessler on this team?
- 12:43Speaker 4: Cost us?
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember we discussed in the Tradedline podcast we
- 12:48Speaker 3: had with Young Craig that maybe they does take jar
- 12:51Speaker 3: and Jackson because they were landing ahead of losing Kesler,
- 12:55Speaker 3: and they did lose him, but they got a great return.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I think the Laker decided that, I think smartly decided
- 13:02Speaker 3: that it's not gonna work with both Tonsons and Lebron
- 13:05Speaker 3: and they transformed the whole team to match Luca's style,
- 13:08Speaker 3: so they went allowed to get the most matching pieces
- 13:12Speaker 3: with style.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Now, is Kesler the most matching center for Luca. No,
- 13:17Speaker 2: but I think he's good. He's a good fit, and.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Especially defensively, if they try to hide the Luca's questionable defense,
- 13:26Speaker 3: Kesler can.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Help for sure. It's also a matter of durability.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I think if he can can stay on the floor,
- 13:32Speaker 3: I think he will be a very good addition and
- 13:35Speaker 3: will for sure benefit from both Luca and osenrieves playmaking,
- 13:39Speaker 3: So if he's healthy, I think he's due for a
- 13:43Speaker 3: bounchback season as a featured player from the Lakers.
- 13:48Speaker 1: The other most relevant signings that they had, Quentin Grimes,
- 13:52Speaker 1: comes in from Philadelphia. He's a sort of a medium
- 13:56Speaker 1: level score. He's kicked around quite a bit at this point,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but he's still a fairly young man. Colin Sexton has
- 14:01Speaker 1: had good times in the past. Matisse Tible is a
- 14:05Speaker 1: nice defensive player. Andrew mamush Kabili. My shout out to
- 14:10Speaker 1: my man fam who's listening to this? Who is the
- 14:12Speaker 1: Delaware guys? This is the most famous Delaware basketball player ever?
- 14:16Speaker 1: And yeah, there's a few big ones in Jillen Hardy
- 14:18Speaker 1: Matis's table, Kevin Looney kind of hanging around a little
- 14:22Speaker 1: bit behind that, Zire Williams. Out of this whole mess
- 14:26Speaker 1: of stuff. This is going to be the core of
- 14:29Speaker 1: the Lakers rotation. Throw Luca Austin and then for some reason,
- 14:34Speaker 1: Jared Vanderbilt is still there. Otherwise in Jake Lauravia. Otherwise,
- 14:38Speaker 1: this is it, man, This is the Lakers team out there.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Do you see any of these input guys? Are think
- 14:43Speaker 1: any gonna be big for fantasy do you what do
- 14:45Speaker 1: you think?
- 14:47Speaker 3: I think you can safely predict three of the five
- 14:50Speaker 3: starting sports Luka Keesler and the Austin Riffs. But then
- 14:53Speaker 3: I think the three spot and the two forward positions
- 14:56Speaker 3: the small forward position are open for a step in
- 15:00Speaker 3: In terms of fantasy, I am most excited for sandral
- 15:03Speaker 3: Mont glass Ville if he gets the minutes and the
- 15:06Speaker 3: starting position of the four. We saw a season with
- 15:09Speaker 3: Toronto that he can be a valuable fantasy contributor because
- 15:12Speaker 3: he can sue, he can provide some out of position triples,
- 15:15Speaker 3: he can get his rebounds, he has good.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Percentages, so I think it's a name to watch there.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Also, we've seen that Grimes can be a good fantasy
- 15:24Speaker 3: player when he even from his seventy six ers days,
- 15:28Speaker 3: but those were when he had great, great usage. So
- 15:32Speaker 3: I would be more cautious there because the ball will
- 15:34Speaker 3: be more in the hands of Luca and the Ostin Riffs, obviously,
- 15:37Speaker 3: but the Lakers are a team to monitor during recision
- 15:41Speaker 3: to see how the rotation sacks out. I don't think
- 15:44Speaker 3: they were going to get the starting spot to Wonder build,
- 15:48Speaker 3: and I'm very unsure that they will give it to
- 15:52Speaker 3: jegular Avia mostly due to defense. So I think Malville
- 15:58Speaker 3: has the real chance to start there and have great
- 16:02Speaker 3: fund of Sivaluo.
- 16:02Speaker 2: So I think he could be a great slipper pick
- 16:05Speaker 2: in this season.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. They did lose some guys. I
- 16:09Speaker 1: guess we should come because the gap who's being lost here,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and of course that doesn't matter to the new team.
- 16:14Speaker 1: But DeAndre Ayton, Lebron, Marcus Smart, Ui hat Cha, Mura
- 16:19Speaker 1: Jackson as Lukenard, my lord that that's that was the Lakers.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You could have told me that was the Lakers, and
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know, Luka Doncev slipped my mind. I would have said, oh, yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 1: so this is gonna be some this is gonna be
- 16:31Speaker 1: some times. We'll see how the Lakers can come through that. Now,
- 16:34Speaker 1: the Phoenix Suns, never shy about spending money and doing
- 16:40Speaker 1: what they have to do to stay exciting, decided to
- 16:43Speaker 1: They re signed a couple of Mark Williams. We're gonna
- 16:46Speaker 1: give him another try, Jordan Goodwin, Colin Gillespie. There's some
- 16:50Speaker 1: good stuff going on there. They traded for Miles Bridges.
- 16:54Speaker 1: That was a big deal, a guy who definitely has
- 16:56Speaker 1: got your stats in the past. And they brought in
- 16:59Speaker 1: Luke Ard from the Lakers, a little three point specialist
- 17:02Speaker 1: action there, and they sent out their three points specialist
- 17:07Speaker 1: Greas and Allen, as well as Royce O'Neil, who's been
- 17:10Speaker 1: a kind of a French contributor for a while. What
- 17:12Speaker 1: do you see with the Suns big incoming or outcoming?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the Suns were not.
- 17:20Speaker 3: They were surprised how well they did last season, so
- 17:23Speaker 3: they I think they went the direction that we try
- 17:25Speaker 3: to improve on what we did last season by shwopping
- 17:28Speaker 3: Grayson Allen and roych and Mill, which our.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Depth piecis for Miles Bridges.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Let's see how this works out now in terms of funders,
- 17:36Speaker 3: I think it's maybe a latter move for Bridges. He's
- 17:39Speaker 3: been on the decline in the last couple of seasons.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Best seasons were when the Sarlot Hornets didn't have anyone
- 17:46Speaker 3: to play, so he was the number one.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Option, which was not the case after Mellow returned and
- 17:52Speaker 2: Brandon Miller was drafted. There.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I'm not really sure that the Phoenix has what it
- 17:57Speaker 3: takes to be a really contributor, but they belie it,
- 18:00Speaker 3: so who am I to argue with them? They also resigned.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I think yesterday Dalan Brooks a massive contract, so they
- 18:06Speaker 3: believe in their core. We will see how it goes
- 18:10Speaker 3: Mark Williams, as you said, it's also always interesting because
- 18:13Speaker 3: they resigned him for three years, so they must be
- 18:17Speaker 3: more comfortable with his health than any other team that
- 18:21Speaker 3: ever had.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Him in the roster.
- 18:25Speaker 3: They did try to manage him last season and largely succeeded.
- 18:29Speaker 5: They played him in back to back games, but they
- 18:32Speaker 5: either plaid him less minutes in the first or the
- 18:36Speaker 5: second game, so there were some weird box scores, like
- 18:39Speaker 5: where he played fifteen minutes there and then thirty something
- 18:43Speaker 5: and then again fifteen minutes.
- 18:44Speaker 2: So he was frustating for fantasy. But it's a good
- 18:48Speaker 2: sign at least that they decided to resign him. But
- 18:51Speaker 2: I think it's going to be the same team as
- 18:54Speaker 2: last season, and I also had greater hopes for Jalen
- 18:58Speaker 2: Green there. But it doesn't seem like it's happening. I
- 19:03Speaker 2: know this will this will be sad than my friend Greg,
- 19:06Speaker 2: but I don't think it's happening for Televinia. We've seen
- 19:08Speaker 2: him in a lot of seasons now it doesn't seem
- 19:11Speaker 2: like he can play meaningful winning basketball. So he's another
- 19:16Speaker 2: player to watch for vidential trades down the line because
- 19:19Speaker 2: he still has a lot of years left in his contract.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I don't of all the teams we're going to talk
- 19:25Speaker 1: about today, I don't know if any of them don't
- 19:29Speaker 1: know what to say about more than the Sacramento Kings.
- 19:31Speaker 1: So the King's not much really changed on the roster.
- 19:34Speaker 1: They added Precious Actua. No, they're re signed to guys
- 19:37Speaker 1: and away Devin Carter and that's it. And it feels
- 19:42Speaker 1: like the majority of the moves that they're going to
- 19:45Speaker 1: make are the teams that are the players that are
- 19:47Speaker 1: still on the team. Zach Levigne and Demontes Sabonis are
- 19:51Speaker 1: still hanging around there. They still have my boy, Keegan
- 19:54Speaker 1: Murray hostage. The guys they brought in the draft are
- 19:58Speaker 1: not as exciting as maybe what some other teams do.
- 20:01Speaker 1: All they all I really care about is Dylan Cardwall
- 20:03Speaker 1: on this team. Everybody else can just pounce in. I
- 20:06Speaker 1: need some bonus to get some rebounds for one of
- 20:07Speaker 1: my teams, and Kegan Murray is my guy, but Dylan
- 20:10Speaker 1: Cardwall is my favorite. Yeah, what is going on here?
- 20:14Speaker 1: I heard they tried to trade the Monte Sabonis for
- 20:17Speaker 1: RG Barrett last year and it fell through. Was something
- 20:20Speaker 1: I heard the other day. Tell me about the King Please.
- 20:25Speaker 2: It's they supposedly from last season's roster. Russell Westbrook is
- 20:33Speaker 2: not on the roster yet because I read that they
- 20:36Speaker 2: want to bring back a veteran point guard to mentor
- 20:40Speaker 2: their rookie a cuff and the names that would have
- 20:42Speaker 2: mentioned were Russell Westbrook and Victor Ladipo. Twenty nineteen is
- 20:47Speaker 2: calling and they want to know what's up. I don't know.
- 20:50Speaker 2: This didn't work out at all last season with Westbrook
- 20:53Speaker 2: that was on laven. It was a mess. It was
- 20:56Speaker 2: a mess.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I think it's pretty clear that Sacramento is trying to
- 20:59Speaker 3: do a restarted with af as the main guy. I
- 21:04Speaker 3: wouldn't be surprised if they tried to trade or resign Sabonis,
- 21:07Speaker 3: trying to, let's say, have a clean slate again with him,
- 21:11Speaker 3: because it was very weird how they treated him last
- 21:14Speaker 3: season with the minutes and the bench him at some
- 21:16Speaker 3: point like he was the problem.
- 21:18Speaker 2: But whatever. But it's sacramed.
- 21:21Speaker 3: There's another them that I think will transition to not thanking,
- 21:26Speaker 3: but to giving more opportunities to younger players soon.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Starting the project. Starting lineup of a calf Lavin, I
- 21:35Speaker 2: guess hunted the three Kick and Mary and Sabonis is
- 21:39Speaker 2: a rough one. So I'm not really excited to watch Sacramento.
- 21:44Speaker 3: It seems like yesterday when this team was a real
- 21:46Speaker 3: contender and they had that that crazy run with the
- 21:50Speaker 3: purple buzzer at their arena, that.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Was the good times.
- 21:53Speaker 1: But that the beam like the beam.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yes, yes, exactly. How could I forget this?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, yeah, this I don't know, man, they
- 22:08Speaker 1: I will say coming into the draft, when I was
- 22:10Speaker 1: looking at some of these players, and I'm not some
- 22:13Speaker 1: intensive scout, but Darius hair Acuff I thought was a
- 22:16Speaker 1: lot of fun. I was excited where he went. It
- 22:18Speaker 1: makes sense to me that he ended up a King
- 22:20Speaker 1: because he's gonna he's gonna have the opportunity to do
- 22:23Speaker 1: the crazy stuff that I feel like he's gonna try
- 22:26Speaker 1: to do. Probably nobody will tell him no, but yeah, see,
- 22:30Speaker 1: we'll see what happens this year. I mean, the Kings
- 22:32Speaker 1: are usually trying at the end of the season, which
- 22:34Speaker 1: kind of makes them. Probably their record at the end
- 22:36Speaker 1: of the season looks better than it will now when
- 22:39Speaker 1: everybody's trying at the end of the season and just
- 22:42Speaker 1: the bad shines through, because that's that's the danger here.
- 22:46Speaker 1: There's more bad to shine through with this team, right.
- 22:49Speaker 3: And I'm no expert in prospects either, but I would
- 22:53Speaker 3: guess that the acuff will get all the usage and all.
- 22:56Speaker 2: The opportunities that he can handle. So that usually means
- 23:00Speaker 2: good points good as it's a ton of turnovers, bad percentages.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So that's that's a question for people, especially in riders.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Maybe those kinds of players are better at the second
- 23:12Speaker 3: half of the season where they start to figure things
- 23:14Speaker 3: out and they have a good stretch there. But usually
- 23:17Speaker 3: you have to be careful and temper your expectations with
- 23:20Speaker 3: the rookie points in teams with essentially no other ball handled,
- 23:24Speaker 3: because right now, this.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Is the second player, the second lay start is Malik Monk,
- 23:32Speaker 2: who is shooting that not a point guard? Yeah?
- 23:37Speaker 1: This no, this is this is not going to go well, no,
- 23:43Speaker 1: this is not going to Oh I'm so sorry. Their
- 23:46Speaker 1: best hope is that there are three teams that don't
- 23:49Speaker 1: have their first round draft pick that don't mind getting
- 23:52Speaker 1: relegated to the two ball bottom slots, and they can
- 23:55Speaker 1: sneak in it forth. Okay, let's move to the Northwest
- 23:58Speaker 1: Division cost us and a team that the main free
- 24:02Speaker 1: agent story with them is one that is not consummated,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and that is whether Nikola Jokic is going to hang
- 24:07Speaker 1: around for the long term. But primarily they brought in
- 24:11Speaker 1: Marvin Bagley whatever a backup big and they lost Tim
- 24:16Speaker 1: Hardaway and then they Spencer Jones. Actually that was an
- 24:20Speaker 1: offer sheet from the Oklahoma City Thunder for some reason,
- 24:23Speaker 1: and they matched it. So they're really they're real intense
- 24:28Speaker 1: about doing that. And let's see Peyton Watson. I don't
- 24:30Speaker 1: think is resolved either, and that's like a big deal
- 24:32Speaker 1: to them. These guys are really still in limbo with
- 24:37Speaker 1: what's going on. It feels like costas what's up with Denver.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And they also I think yesterday signed the London
- 24:44Speaker 2: Walker who spent the last two three years and they
- 24:47Speaker 2: usually get yeah to a minimum contact, so they got
- 24:51Speaker 2: some depth now, but they have even less cup space
- 24:54Speaker 2: now for Peyton Watson, so it's going to be very
- 24:57Speaker 2: interesting to see what they do there. I think even
- 25:01Speaker 2: the offer.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Se it from Oklahoma for Jones was a move from
- 25:04Speaker 3: some press to press them even further to press division
- 25:08Speaker 3: right well, even father, Yeah, I could buy it totally
- 25:10Speaker 3: if he did something like that because the Nuggets had
- 25:14Speaker 3: to make a decision quickly, But in terms of fantasy,
- 25:19Speaker 3: those moves might be a bit irrelevant if the starting
- 25:23Speaker 3: five are healthy. If also Peyton Watson resigns, we will
- 25:28Speaker 3: see what they decide for their starting lineup because they
- 25:32Speaker 3: have both Brown and Cameron Johnson, and I guess Aaron
- 25:36Speaker 3: Gordon will start if he's healthy, So that's a conundrum
- 25:40Speaker 3: that they have to fix. And the both Alpha Dilo
- 25:44Speaker 3: and Lonie Watcher, the two EuroLeague guys, are very experienced
- 25:48Speaker 3: players at this stage of their career, so I wouldn't
- 25:51Speaker 3: be shocked to see them have real rotation minutes, especially
- 25:55Speaker 3: if injuries come up. So maybe you're in your dynasty
- 26:00Speaker 3: rookie drafts if players that are not in the NBA
- 26:04Speaker 3: drafts are allowed, you can use a second round pick
- 26:07Speaker 3: in for Alpha Dial if you're a contending team, because
- 26:11Speaker 3: I think he might have meaningful minutes, much more meaningful
- 26:15Speaker 3: than any rookie you can draft with the second round pick,
- 26:18Speaker 3: let's say for this year or the next.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So that's something to consider as.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Well that I totally agree. Experienced hands like that coming
- 26:27Speaker 1: in are like a Loney walker. They're going to get
- 26:30Speaker 1: a spot there. And I love the gamesmanship from Presty.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Minnesota Timberwolves another potential contender for Lebron and did not happen.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Sounds like it didn't really get that close to happening.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Would have been probably super powerful for basketball purposes, but
- 26:50Speaker 1: instead they made one of the biggest splashes by landing
- 26:54Speaker 1: LaMelo Ball. And there were a couple other players that
- 26:57Speaker 1: they brought in, not necessarily the biggest ones. They traded
- 27:00Speaker 1: out Julius Randall and nas Reed naz Reid part of
- 27:03Speaker 1: the LaMelo deal, and then Mike Conley and Cole Anderson,
- 27:07Speaker 1: a couple of big veterans they let go and they
- 27:10Speaker 1: hung onto Iowa dis Soon. But that's actually a big
- 27:12Speaker 1: deal because he blew up in the playoffs and then
- 27:14Speaker 1: he got hurt toward the end and that really messed
- 27:17Speaker 1: them up. But LaMelo is he's the name in lights.
- 27:21Speaker 1: But that's always been the thing with LaMelo is he's
- 27:23Speaker 1: bigger in the lights sometimes than he is on the court.
- 27:27Speaker 1: What do you think when the dust all settles here,
- 27:29Speaker 1: what do you think is the impact of some of
- 27:31Speaker 1: these players and what's going on with the Wolves.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the Wolves realized last season because they
- 27:38Speaker 3: tried after the Gobert trade to win in a certain
- 27:41Speaker 3: way with Colbert and the Randle upfront and giving.
- 27:45Speaker 2: The ball exclusively to exclusively to Andony Edwards.
- 27:52Speaker 3: So there were some moments in the playoffs last season
- 27:56Speaker 3: again where Edwards was completely up and there was no
- 28:02Speaker 3: creation apart from him, especially with Donda Davichanzo going down
- 28:06Speaker 3: at some point. So they're going to try something different
- 28:10Speaker 3: with LaMelo and I guess moving Jedd and McDaniel's to
- 28:14Speaker 3: the four spot. I cannot see any other way to
- 28:18Speaker 3: make everyone fit there. I mean, you start to consume
- 28:21Speaker 3: on the three and the mcdani's at before it's going
- 28:24Speaker 3: to be interesting to see. I guess it depends on
- 28:27Speaker 3: how willing LaMelo is to start playing winning basketball and
- 28:32Speaker 3: try to fit in a mold where he's not the.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Number one player.
- 28:36Speaker 3: And let's be honest, the Charlotte Hornets were never They
- 28:40Speaker 3: never had real expectations, so you could see it in
- 28:43Speaker 3: the way they played. They were very loose, very very
- 28:47Speaker 3: very up tempo. And Minnesota has a different style, different
- 28:52Speaker 3: expectations with this kind of roster, so it's going to
- 28:55Speaker 3: be interesting.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I think in terms of.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Fantasy Labelo Lamello's assists will decrease and the same will
- 29:02Speaker 3: happen a bit for Edwards, but in terms of how
- 29:07Speaker 3: many games he will be playing that this is the
- 29:09Speaker 3: first season after his season where he might get closer
- 29:13Speaker 3: to seventy games per season, which will matter more than
- 29:16Speaker 3: one or two assists down per game.
- 29:19Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to see how all these things work
- 29:23Speaker 2: out in Minnesota. And they also got three Lyles.
- 29:27Speaker 3: From EuroLeague as well after a great season with Real Madrid,
- 29:30Speaker 3: so in the same vein like Diallo and the Lone Walker,
- 29:35Speaker 3: you can check him out for bench production, but for
- 29:38Speaker 3: deeper leaks he can be useful as well because they
- 29:41Speaker 3: lost both Rundle and the Nazid, so they're a bit
- 29:46Speaker 3: light in the forward positions.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Yeah. I remember last year. Remember for a while Anthony
- 29:53Speaker 1: Edwards was injured, like we thought maybe he wouldn't be
- 29:57Speaker 1: able to make it back and play all the playof
- 30:00Speaker 1: and I remember tuning in, like I watched as many
- 30:02Speaker 1: games as I could, but I remember I tuned in
- 30:05Speaker 1: one of the Wolves games. It was like the fourth
- 30:07Speaker 1: quarter and Anthony Edwards was just gassed, like he was dead.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I was like, oh, he must be having a really
- 30:14Speaker 1: bad game, and then I looked, oh no, he scored
- 30:16Speaker 1: forty four points tonight, but it just he couldn't do
- 30:19Speaker 1: it all. He had to play some defense. It was
- 30:22Speaker 1: just too much for the guy. So I like giving
- 30:24Speaker 1: it to Mellow, But Mellow feels like the just the
- 30:28Speaker 1: most combustible running mate that you could possibly give in
- 30:32Speaker 1: terms of is this guy really reliable? Is he really
- 30:35Speaker 1: a winner?
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 30:37Speaker 3: I mean yeah, no, it's I agree. I agree with you,
- 30:40Speaker 3: and it's not the perfect fit. But as you correctly said,
- 30:43Speaker 3: it was obvious that he needed someone to give the
- 30:46Speaker 3: ball to. The question is how much it will impact
- 30:50Speaker 3: to LaMelo that he's not going to have the ball
- 30:52Speaker 3: in his hand to start the offense as he's used
- 30:54Speaker 3: his whole.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Career, because it's not gonna be like that.
- 30:57Speaker 3: But yeah, the tmberbooks, especially after the de Vincenzo injury,
- 31:02Speaker 3: they couldn't keep up. Everyone was clogging Edwards and his
- 31:05Speaker 3: options were Conley and Boone Island something like that.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Those are no three options for players.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. All right, we're gonna take a brief break
- 31:15Speaker 1: come back with more of our.
- 31:16Speaker 4: NBA trades.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Cost us. Now we are too. I'm used to calling
- 31:35Speaker 1: them the champions. I guess you can't call him the
- 31:37Speaker 1: champions anymore because they got eliminated in the Semis this year.
- 31:41Speaker 1: But the Oklahoma City Thunder, what do you get the
- 31:43Speaker 1: team that has everything you really don't need to add
- 31:45Speaker 1: anything unless they just feel like screwing with you and
- 31:48Speaker 1: making offers on Spencer Jones. But they did lose. They
- 31:52Speaker 1: lost Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, and Lou Lou Dort was
- 31:56Speaker 1: starting to be a little bit of a towerp but
- 31:58Speaker 1: still was a very valuable defensive player. And so if anything,
- 32:03Speaker 1: Oklahoma City is losing a little bit. But they're just
- 32:05Speaker 1: getting younger because there's a bunch of younger guys who
- 32:08Speaker 1: are ready to jump into these positions. It feels like
- 32:12Speaker 1: this is a pretty set rotation, if not even going
- 32:15Speaker 1: to crowd out some of last year's points by getting
- 32:18Speaker 1: hopefully more Jale and Williams in their lives this year.
- 32:21Speaker 1: But what do you think here? Any changes worth noting
- 32:24Speaker 1: for us who are trying to play fantasy or for
- 32:28Speaker 1: Oklahoma City itself.
- 32:30Speaker 3: The players that are living were valuable contributors last season,
- 32:34Speaker 3: and they played real minutes, So I guess you're right.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Chelan Williams should play more now that he's healthy. I
- 32:41Speaker 3: think kind of forgotten player that straight flew a bit
- 32:44Speaker 3: under the rada last season, but I think it was
- 32:46Speaker 3: an excellent raight for Oklahoma is Zared McCain, who should.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Get a lot more minutes this season.
- 32:54Speaker 3: He had an explosive start to his career in Philadelphia,
- 32:57Speaker 3: but then never got the opportunity to play again because
- 33:00Speaker 3: of how crowded Philadelphia was in the back court. So
- 33:04Speaker 3: I think if a name is to what's there it
- 33:07Speaker 3: started m gain, there are still a lot of guys,
- 33:10Speaker 3: as you said, that can fill in these minutes that
- 33:13Speaker 3: the Oklahoma City turned into fifty eight second rounders again,
- 33:19Speaker 3: So I would watch that, and apart from that, it's
- 33:21Speaker 3: a pretty sat rotation.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Let's move on to the Portland Trailblazers. As a hockey fan,
- 33:28Speaker 1: I've been trying to explain or defend to NBA fans
- 33:34Speaker 1: that Tom Dundan actually some of his stuff works, and
- 33:37Speaker 1: Tom Dunnan keeps acting like a Batman villain and completely
- 33:40Speaker 1: ruining my ability to make his case in the meantime,
- 33:45Speaker 1: they made some additions. Primarily they added John Morant. They
- 33:49Speaker 1: flipped Jeremy Grant for him, which I guess as a
- 33:53Speaker 1: play on upside. I guess is again a belief that
- 33:56Speaker 1: somehow you can rehabilitate. It's like, it's like the stereotype
- 34:02Speaker 1: of a woman who sees a bad buoy and says,
- 34:04Speaker 1: I can fix him. I can fix him, or we
- 34:07Speaker 1: can reassemble the jail blazers of Days of yr that's
- 34:10Speaker 1: what the city really wants, or somehow alienate the market
- 34:13Speaker 1: to the extent that they can not be sad that
- 34:15Speaker 1: they move. And also Chris Murray left, which only bothers
- 34:20Speaker 1: me because again a Murray twin a Hawkeye. We have
- 34:23Speaker 1: to keep that in mind and have a moment of
- 34:25Speaker 1: maybe he'll get a role in Memphis. They don't have
- 34:27Speaker 1: any power forwards. All right, let's go on to Portland.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Who what do you think about this team? Is it
- 34:33Speaker 1: the question of John Morant staying healthy, who's gonna get
- 34:37Speaker 1: Jeremy Grant's production, all those things?
- 34:40Speaker 3: The main question there is what are they going to
- 34:43Speaker 3: do in the backward which is very crowded, And this
- 34:46Speaker 3: is very correlated to that.
- 34:48Speaker 2: What is the condition of Damian Lillard. Is he ready
- 34:50Speaker 2: to play major minutes again?
- 34:53Speaker 3: And if he is ready to play major minutes, and
- 34:57Speaker 3: because it's we're talking about Portland and Lillards, he can play,
- 35:00Speaker 3: he will play those minutes. How does this make sense
- 35:05Speaker 3: with Moran, Scoot Henderson, Lillard, Drew Holiday, Sidon Sharp a
- 35:12Speaker 3: lot of.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Mouths to fit there, and most of them, except for
- 35:18Speaker 2: Drew Holiday, cannot play without the ball in their hands.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Drew is like a Swiss army knife.
- 35:24Speaker 3: You can put him everywhere and has proven that he
- 35:26Speaker 3: can be valuable in any situation.
- 35:29Speaker 2: So I'm fine with him. He's no longer so much
- 35:32Speaker 2: fun as irrelevant, but he will find his role. But
- 35:36Speaker 2: between Scoot, Moran and Lillard, something has to give. I
- 35:41Speaker 2: don't know if problem is giving up on Scoot because
- 35:44Speaker 2: they didn't start him last season as well, maybe they're
- 35:48Speaker 2: not so happy with his overall development, or maybe they
- 35:51Speaker 2: thought that the price of just jerm Grant was too
- 35:54Speaker 2: good to pass up for Moran.
- 35:56Speaker 3: But it will be interesting to see how this all
- 35:59Speaker 3: will work. I'm not sure this will work out in
- 36:02Speaker 3: the end, and I'm a bit sad that this will
- 36:04Speaker 3: take away from afdys production, which was a breakout season
- 36:09Speaker 3: for him last season.
- 36:11Speaker 2: But I have trouble seeing how this will work. Maybe
- 36:15Speaker 2: Morant is motivated from this trade because he was practically
- 36:20Speaker 2: given away for for peanuts for one backet of Greek Veta.
- 36:25Speaker 2: So if he's motivated, maybe they will surprise us. But
- 36:29Speaker 2: on paper, it's a tough tough fit to validate.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Look, I would give. I would give an NBA free
- 36:38Speaker 1: agent for some Greek feta right now, because if I'm
- 36:42Speaker 1: getting it from Athens, that's some dang good feta, is
- 36:45Speaker 1: what I've got to tell you, cos you got the
- 36:47Speaker 1: good stuff around those.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I'm starting an NBA A team for NBA Europe with
- 36:52Speaker 2: this business business plan. I'm gonna pay everyone with Veta.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Can I be an early partner with the Yeah, Adam
- 37:00Speaker 1: Silver will love me. Yeah, Adam, I've never said anything
- 37:05Speaker 1: bad about you ever. All Right, Utah Jazz, they finally
- 37:12Speaker 1: allegedly are going to try It seems like a lot
- 37:15Speaker 1: of it is just releasing the kraken that's already on
- 37:17Speaker 1: the franchise that they hold back every year. They got
- 37:21Speaker 1: again some blessings in the draft, but from free agency
- 37:25Speaker 1: they got precious little except Jackson, Hayes and Joshua Kogi
- 37:29Speaker 1: and then obviously sent away Walker Kessler. It feels like
- 37:34Speaker 1: they've got a good coach, They've got some talent here,
- 37:37Speaker 1: and Will Hardy would accidentally win with it when he
- 37:39Speaker 1: wasn't supposed to in the past. But if they really
- 37:43Speaker 1: turn on the switch, is this team going to be good?
- 37:46Speaker 1: And who are the good fantasy players on it?
- 37:51Speaker 2: And it seems like they have all the tools they
- 37:54Speaker 2: need to be good decision. The starting lineup is looking good.
- 37:58Speaker 2: They have good depth, they have young players.
- 38:01Speaker 3: They got the number two picking these years rough with
- 38:04Speaker 3: Darren Peterson who was supposedly waiting for one in a year,
- 38:09Speaker 3: one half, one and a half year to play in
- 38:12Speaker 3: the NBA, and he was taking slow like the youthaaz
- 38:15Speaker 3: as you said he wasn't.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Playing he was, Yeah, he was ready for them. He
- 38:19Speaker 2: was ready for that exactly, exactly exactly. He was tanking
- 38:23Speaker 2: the whole time, exactly exactly.
- 38:26Speaker 1: You never heard of it taking lottery pick.
- 38:29Speaker 3: This is on paper, it seems like this should be
- 38:33Speaker 3: good decision. I like the fit again on paper with
- 38:37Speaker 3: because we didn't see it with Jaren Jackson and the
- 38:39Speaker 3: Lorry Mark and then if you start both of them
- 38:42Speaker 3: at the five and the four, you can really space
- 38:45Speaker 3: the floor, which is very interesting. With and George and
- 38:48Speaker 3: Darren Patterson in the back court, I don't know who
- 38:54Speaker 3: will defend from those guys, But that's another problem. It's
- 38:57Speaker 3: usually not such a great problem for hilar season basketball
- 39:01Speaker 3: in the NBA, but that's a team that we should
- 39:04Speaker 3: watch closely in the precision to see how the roles fit.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Because we had he on the George breaking out last season.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Is it going to be so easy for him to
- 39:13Speaker 3: maintain this kind of value With Peterson back and with
- 39:18Speaker 3: no longer resting everyone for random illnesses that took thirty
- 39:22Speaker 3: five days to cure.
- 39:24Speaker 2: I think the answer is.
- 39:25Speaker 6: No, yeah, And will use of nurkids again be a
- 39:31Speaker 6: basketball god for two months and then play one game
- 39:35Speaker 6: in seven days.
- 39:37Speaker 2: No again, I think we'll start from the bench.
- 39:40Speaker 3: But it was a very interesting season last season for
- 39:42Speaker 3: the Jazz, and I hope this is the season they
- 39:46Speaker 3: start winning, because it's been a long time coming for
- 39:49Speaker 3: you to from the days of I think Theron Williams
- 39:52Speaker 3: and Andre Kirilenko they had to really yeah to win
- 39:55Speaker 3: a lot, So I'm rooting for them.
- 39:58Speaker 2: This season.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I've got a fever, and the only thing
- 40:03Speaker 1: that will cure it is more jazz basketball. As far
- 40:05Speaker 1: as I'm concerned. One more division to talk about it.
- 40:07Speaker 1: The Southwest. Dallas starts out the bedding here, and they
- 40:12Speaker 1: lost some fringe players. Ryan Nemhart I always thought was interesting.
- 40:18Speaker 1: The other guys are end of times type of guys.
- 40:20Speaker 1: But they brought in some interesting players. If you ask
- 40:23Speaker 1: me to fill in around Zachary Rishi say, feels like,
- 40:27Speaker 1: even though he's already being treated as a failed number
- 40:30Speaker 1: one overall pick from barely I don't know, a couple
- 40:34Speaker 1: of years ago, at this point, feels like maybe he
- 40:37Speaker 1: could be revived into something. Santi Aldama, a decent big
- 40:40Speaker 1: when he was healthy in Memphis. Marcus Sasser, who I
- 40:44Speaker 1: don't know, He was decent at times, an older point
- 40:47Speaker 1: guard that came into Detroit but is not going to
- 40:51Speaker 1: have a role there anymore and definitely got surpassed by
- 40:53Speaker 1: whoever that other point guard was in Dallas.
- 40:55Speaker 2: He should have done the last year.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they bring in they go to your country,
- 41:03Speaker 1: they go to your content, man, they go straight to
- 41:05Speaker 1: the Balkans and bring in Tarik Beberovich, so they're they're
- 41:09Speaker 1: going for it here. Kyrie Irving, we don't know what's
- 41:12Speaker 1: going on there. It sounds like he'll probably be radio
- 41:16Speaker 1: role pretty early. What's the deal with these guys?
- 41:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it seems like a suddenly very full roster for
- 41:23Speaker 3: the Mavericks. They filled out nicely both the forward positions,
- 41:29Speaker 3: and they got some ball handling with Sasser and with
- 41:32Speaker 3: the rookie Sergo de la Rea, who was also playing
- 41:35Speaker 3: in Eurolink for Valencia, which was a surprise team decision
- 41:38Speaker 3: in EuroLeague. I think he's going to be one of
- 41:41Speaker 3: the most ready rookies to play, so keep an eye
- 41:43Speaker 3: him as well. And I think that's gonna be a
- 41:46Speaker 3: good move a so for Risa because obviously the Hawks
- 41:51Speaker 3: gave up on him at the middle point of last season,
- 41:54Speaker 3: so a change of scenery would be good there, especially
- 41:57Speaker 3: if Clay Thompson is not in the roster is the
- 42:01Speaker 3: most likely outcome at this point.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Maybe he will be trained or bought out, but.
- 42:06Speaker 3: The Mavericks seem a very full team both in every
- 42:10Speaker 3: position right now. Everything will be just by how healthy
- 42:16Speaker 3: careering is, of course, but I think this roster around
- 42:21Speaker 3: the Cayrie and the Cooper Flag makes a lot of sense.
- 42:24Speaker 3: And I'm very excited also for the second decision of
- 42:27Speaker 3: Cooper Flag because after one or two months that were
- 42:31Speaker 3: a bit questioned at the start, which was expected and
- 42:34Speaker 3: pretty much anticipated, he seemed to figure it out very quickly.
- 42:38Speaker 2: And he has all the tools to be exceptional. And
- 42:41Speaker 2: I think both in real life obviously, but also his
- 42:45Speaker 2: fantasy profile is very interesting. It's very interesting, and if
- 42:48Speaker 2: he figures it out and has a supporting cast around him,
- 42:51Speaker 2: that makes sense for him.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I think he can be very frightening and fantasy. All
- 42:57Speaker 3: the movies that the Mavericks did enhanced the spacing because
- 43:03Speaker 3: both and al Dama can shoot. It is a s
- 43:06Speaker 3: I can also shoot, especially the cuts and shoot guy
- 43:09Speaker 3: not so much of the dripple and the Tarkbtovich is,
- 43:13Speaker 3: if not the best, one of the best shooters in
- 43:15Speaker 3: the EuroLeague in the last three or four seasons. He's
- 43:19Speaker 3: a really deadly suitter from all the from all over
- 43:23Speaker 3: the court.
- 43:24Speaker 2: So those make a lot of sense for Dallas. I'm excited.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I'm also excited to see how they save the roster
- 43:30Speaker 3: around Cooper Flag decision.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the Cooper team. The Cooper team now, and
- 43:37Speaker 1: what Kyrie Irving does is some frosting on that. And
- 43:41Speaker 1: Kyrie seems to be a good set. Let's keep Kyrie
- 43:43Speaker 1: in Dallas. That seems to be working. Okay, he's getting
- 43:46Speaker 1: along with them. Everybody's like, let's trade him to another team.
- 43:49Speaker 1: I don't know if he and if hean flag vibe,
- 43:52Speaker 1: we could just keep them around the Houston Rockets. The
- 43:56Speaker 1: Houston Rockets made two huge additions of experienced pros who
- 44:01Speaker 1: are gonna make a big difference. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm
- 44:04Speaker 1: seeing that Fred Van Vliet and Steven Adams are actually
- 44:07Speaker 1: returns from injury, not free agents, but still big additions
- 44:10Speaker 1: to this team. I guess. They also brought in Marcus
- 44:13Speaker 1: Smart and bogdan Bogdanovich lost a couple of guys who've
- 44:17Speaker 1: become fringe players in Dorian Finney Smith and Josh Kogi.
- 44:19Speaker 1: But really, this is a team where some experienced guys
- 44:24Speaker 1: are coming back to supplement. Obviously the late stage Kevin
- 44:29Speaker 1: durant Alprin Shangoon who is in his prime but as
- 44:32Speaker 1: a quirky player, and then Jabari Smith and the newly
- 44:37Speaker 1: extended Tarry Eason, and then you still got Amen Thompson.
- 44:40Speaker 1: You got reached a five minutes ago. This was the
- 44:43Speaker 1: other team other than the Oklahoma City Thunder that was
- 44:45Speaker 1: just crowded with young excitement. Amen Thompson was supposed to
- 44:50Speaker 1: be the greatest thing since sliced bread and fantasy, and
- 44:52Speaker 1: that did not happen last year. He's I don't know, man.
- 44:55Speaker 1: I'm not saying I would trade him for some Greek feta,
- 44:59Speaker 1: but maybe a really good yoburt. So I don't know.
- 45:01Speaker 1: You tell me what's the deal with the Houston Rockets.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I guess it's weird because we were having this show
- 45:08Speaker 3: last season and we're discussing how full this roster is,
- 45:11Speaker 3: how everything should click for the Houston Rockets, how excited
- 45:14Speaker 3: were to see them, and on paper, this roster got
- 45:17Speaker 3: even better this decision because losing Doria Finnie Smith who
- 45:22Speaker 3: wasn't really playing, and Dosakosi was playing too much for
- 45:26Speaker 3: the team's good and replaced them with Smart and Bogdanovich,
- 45:30Speaker 3: and obviously having both Adams and the feed back theoretically
- 45:35Speaker 3: should make it in better. But I think it was
- 45:39Speaker 3: obvious last season that the whole chemistry was not there
- 45:42Speaker 3: for Houston.
- 45:43Speaker 2: The effort was not there.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Who had a lot of reports that the locker room
- 45:48Speaker 3: was not very much aligned.
- 45:50Speaker 2: There were some questionable videos of Durant and Sengun not.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Really vibing with the other with other players, It's.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Something is off in Houston. I don't know what, but
- 46:00Speaker 2: it seems weird.
- 46:01Speaker 3: And now for Ram and Thompson, I think the most
- 46:04Speaker 3: interesting thing for him was Okay, he didn't break out,
- 46:07Speaker 3: and especially.
- 46:08Speaker 2: His blocks disappeared because in his rookie and in his
- 46:12Speaker 2: sophomore season he had one point three blocks and last
- 46:16Speaker 2: season was exactly the same as his rookie season with
- 46:19Speaker 2: zero point six blocks, with huge difference fantasy obviously, But
- 46:24Speaker 2: the interesting part was he improved his free throws from
- 46:27Speaker 2: sixteen percent to seventy eight percent. This is still belowly gaverage,
- 46:33Speaker 2: but it's not requiring you to go with the free
- 46:35Speaker 2: throw punt, and that's very interesting if we try to
- 46:39Speaker 2: build some things for next season, if we see that
- 46:42Speaker 2: he can maintain these kind of percentages and maybe he
- 46:45Speaker 2: forces us only to a three point punt with a
- 46:49Speaker 2: triple span. So this is very interesting for him.
- 46:52Speaker 3: But it all depends on how Fred van Fleet returns,
- 46:56Speaker 3: how ready he is to take minutes and useless from everyone,
- 47:00Speaker 3: and I guess if everyone is healthy, there are not
- 47:04Speaker 3: enough minutes to go around, So I would expect Houston
- 47:07Speaker 3: to make some trades early to try and glog this
- 47:10Speaker 3: this roster. But on paper it's great, I'm not really
- 47:15Speaker 3: sure if the vibes are there.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Yeah, like Durant has a way of spoiling those from
- 47:20Speaker 1: time to time by saying some dumb things in the media.
- 47:23Speaker 2: No.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I was told that Aman Thompson and Reed Shepherd
- 47:27Speaker 1: were like the two best rookies from their years in
- 47:30Speaker 1: some ways, and now they both barely in the rotation.
- 47:34Speaker 1: If Fred van Vliet is owning it, it seems like
- 47:37Speaker 1: they're in more depth. I don't know. We'll see how
- 47:39Speaker 1: all this goes down.
- 47:40Speaker 3: But Separate was the skipe go to last eason a
- 47:43Speaker 3: lot when the Rockets were not playing defense, and he
- 47:46Speaker 3: was the easy guy to about for inbi dot com
- 47:49Speaker 3: just to get his message across the team. I cannot
- 47:52Speaker 3: see how I'm and Thompson does not play his minutes,
- 47:57Speaker 3: But I can see a world where Redperd is martinal
- 47:59Speaker 3: I even more now.
- 48:01Speaker 2: But will we say.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Memphis Grizzlies are executing Would this be a textbook tearn
- 48:09Speaker 1: in I don't know. They actually brought in Jeremy Grant.
- 48:12Speaker 1: They brought in and Jeremy Grant is the highest paid
- 48:15Speaker 1: player on the team by a lot, like thirty four
- 48:18Speaker 1: point two million. Second highest paid player on the team
- 48:20Speaker 1: is getting fifteen million, So he is the man here.
- 48:24Speaker 1: And then next year he even has a higher thirty
- 48:27Speaker 1: six million dollar contract, which is a player option, so
- 48:31Speaker 1: he is going to be back in the following year.
- 48:34Speaker 1: But they did some really cool things. They traded for
- 48:37Speaker 1: Beef stew Isaiah Stewart from the Detroit Pistons. That was good.
- 48:43Speaker 1: He Stuart kind of, I don't know, kind of played
- 48:45Speaker 1: his way out of Detroit. I don't think he did
- 48:48Speaker 1: as well in the playoffs if I recall correctly. But
- 48:51Speaker 1: he's a very valuable and surly regular season player who
- 48:54Speaker 1: should fit into the Memphis archetype. D'Angelo Russell's there to
- 48:59Speaker 1: take the shots you need D'Angelo Russell to take, because
- 49:02Speaker 1: that's what he's declining. But he's still around. He's I
- 49:05Speaker 1: don't know, he's not being paid much. I don't know
- 49:07Speaker 1: how what kind of a rule, but basically the team
- 49:09Speaker 1: seems to be they're trying to coalesce. It around the
- 49:13Speaker 1: next guy, who's going to be Cameron Boozer. Obviously, again
- 49:16Speaker 1: we're not getting into all the rookies, but this is
- 49:18Speaker 1: supposed to be Cam Boozer's team now, and it's Cam
- 49:21Speaker 1: Boozer plus all bigs. Whoops, all bigs, Jeremy Grant, Isaiah Stewart,
- 49:26Speaker 1: Cameron Boozer, Quentin Post, Taylor Hendrix, Zach Eaedy. I have
- 49:31Speaker 1: now named six of the seven top paid players on
- 49:35Speaker 1: the team all bigs. Well, yeah, it's all bigs here
- 49:38Speaker 1: man all the way down. And yeah, they're trying to
- 49:41Speaker 1: stockpile some future picks. They had to stretch KCP. I'm
- 49:45Speaker 1: old enough to remember when KCP was supposed to be
- 49:48Speaker 1: a huge deal and the key free agent signing for
- 49:51Speaker 1: everybody who's trying to go over the top. Yeah, they
- 49:54Speaker 1: lost to John Ran. They lost Santi al Dama two
- 49:57Speaker 1: who both were useful. Santi Aldama, they really needed a
- 49:59Speaker 1: big It's too bad they had to move him. What
- 50:02Speaker 1: do you think of this team and what kind of
- 50:06Speaker 1: fantasy goodness are we going to get out of this chaos?
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 50:09Speaker 3: I think here there's a lot of funders opportunity to
- 50:13Speaker 3: but we have to wait and see how this bill materialize.
- 50:17Speaker 3: I can even see a world with Jeremy Grant is
- 50:20Speaker 3: indeed the valuable infantancy, although his founder's profile is not
- 50:25Speaker 3: so friendly, let's say, But especially the guard the spots,
- 50:29Speaker 3: there are a lot of result of opportunity there, and
- 50:32Speaker 3: I think one name we have to keep an eye
- 50:34Speaker 3: on is last season's rookie centric coward, who had a
- 50:38Speaker 3: good decision last season with the usual rookie bumps. But
- 50:41Speaker 3: since this is obviously a rebuild for the Memphis, maybe
- 50:46Speaker 3: he gets more use than we anticipate. And I think
- 50:48Speaker 3: maybe he will also start at the two positions and
- 50:51Speaker 3: don't see someone else winning the spot over him. And
- 50:55Speaker 3: it's also going to be very interesting who they started
- 50:57Speaker 3: at point guard. They have Tides around, which is a
- 51:01Speaker 3: good fantasy player when he's given minutes, and he was
- 51:04Speaker 3: very good last season as well, but they didn't allow
- 51:06Speaker 3: him to play all the games. He started one game
- 51:09Speaker 3: and then sat the next one and then started another,
- 51:11Speaker 3: so it was a bit frustating to own him, but
- 51:15Speaker 3: I guess this will not be the case decision. They
- 51:17Speaker 3: also have Scotty Pippen Junior and the Walter Clayton junior.
- 51:22Speaker 3: But I think my money would be that the rom
- 51:24Speaker 3: style starts the season at the point guard and they
- 51:28Speaker 3: see how it goes. And also we have Zachid, as
- 51:32Speaker 3: you said, and if he's healthy, maybe we see some
- 51:35Speaker 3: more usage going his way, which was not the case
- 51:38Speaker 3: so much with Moran on the team. But this is
- 51:41Speaker 3: a very interesting fantasy season, a fantasy team to watch.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I'm not sure the basketball port that will be so
- 51:47Speaker 3: enticing this season, but for us fantasy heads, it's gonna
- 51:51Speaker 3: be worth a watch.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'm looking at the I'm looking at the payrolls here.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Memphis seems to have twenty million dollars less of payroll
- 52:02Speaker 1: than anybody else in the league. And I think they're
- 52:04Speaker 1: the only team that's below the cap floor that may
- 52:07Speaker 1: not include stretch. I'm not sure how that works. So yeah,
- 52:10Speaker 1: if anybody needs to unload some salary, call down to Memphis,
- 52:14Speaker 1: because Tennessee is accepting applications right now. Okay, So the
- 52:19Speaker 1: New Orleans Pelicans kind of did a whole lot of nothing,
- 52:22Speaker 1: if you ask me, just bringing in and sending out
- 52:24Speaker 1: depth bigs. And I don't know what, what do you
- 52:28Speaker 1: have to say the Pelicans?
- 52:29Speaker 2: I think we can I think we can skip them.
- 52:31Speaker 2: I think we can skip Them's think.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Of Pelicans we got in New Orleans this series.
- 52:39Speaker 2: This last season, it's the same thing. Nothing.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Maybe I can dumb it in. I wonder if last
- 52:46Speaker 1: year's previews nothing happened. We'll see all right, San Antonio Spurs.
- 52:51Speaker 1: They are, of course a pretty relevant team, but not
- 52:54Speaker 1: a whole lot of excitement going on. It's a pretty
- 52:56Speaker 1: full team. I don't know how much you really need
- 52:58Speaker 1: to be doing there, but Tobias Harrah is the most
- 53:01Speaker 1: is the biggest edition. You get a you get kind
- 53:03Speaker 1: of that maybe running made for not quite running made,
- 53:07Speaker 1: but another big that you can put in that rotation.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Their guard rotation is full. And oh yeah they've got
- 53:12Speaker 1: a center. I guess we don't have to worry about that.
- 53:13Speaker 1: It's kind of that way, that forward position where they
- 53:16Speaker 1: could plug somebody in. They're not I don't know if
- 53:19Speaker 1: they're incredibly deep at backup center. When you really get
- 53:23Speaker 1: into the playoffs and the key moments, you probably don't
- 53:26Speaker 1: want to worry about that. All Oh, they kill.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Kill I think they signed.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they signed the five rookies that play the five
- 53:33Speaker 3: and three of them are injured or something.
- 53:35Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 53:36Speaker 3: I think the their highest pick, the Jayden Quentin's is
- 53:40Speaker 3: for short playing the five and it is for shut
- 53:42Speaker 3: injured for a lot of times.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Yeah he's not gonna play.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, But I think the other first round pick,
- 53:48Speaker 3: Taris Read is the center and will play.
- 53:51Speaker 2: So they should be good there with Luke cornetto will.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Luke Cornette, that's yeah, obviously, Luke Cornette. The French
- 53:58Speaker 1: Vanilla lineup and they get wem Banyama and Cornetta out
- 54:01Speaker 1: there together is beautiful. One of the most beautiful nicknames
- 54:05Speaker 1: for a situation. One question I've got for you about
- 54:09Speaker 1: this team because again not too much drama here, but
- 54:12Speaker 1: Darren Fox right now the highest paid player on the
- 54:15Speaker 1: team until Wemby's contract happens, which is coming soon. Fox
- 54:21Speaker 1: really burned a lot of people in the playoffs and
- 54:25Speaker 1: in the NBA playoffs, not the Fantasy playoffs, but he
- 54:28Speaker 1: is writing a huge contract that's going on for quite
- 54:31Speaker 1: a while from here, another four years. I believe he
- 54:35Speaker 1: really disappointed people in the NBA playoffs just because he
- 54:39Speaker 1: made a couple of kind of bonehead plays at the
- 54:41Speaker 1: very end in those Spurs collapses. I thought it was
- 54:45Speaker 1: unfair because I thought he was hurt for a lot
- 54:49Speaker 1: of those playoffs and he was gaming out games that
- 54:51Speaker 1: he would not have done in the regular season. But
- 54:53Speaker 1: that doesn't explain silly plays. It probably explains more the
- 54:58Speaker 1: plays that he couldn't get to athletic. Do you have
- 55:00Speaker 1: any thoughts on whether de Aaron Fox is about to
- 55:03Speaker 1: hit a cliff? He's only twenty eight, for Pete's sake.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sure it's a cliff, but it seems
- 55:11Speaker 3: obvious that with San Adonio having a very full backward
- 55:16Speaker 3: with Dylan Haupper and Stephan Castle and Devin Vasell, he's
- 55:20Speaker 3: not going to be such a clear number two.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Let's say, as we've had in our mind last season.
- 55:26Speaker 2: He's use opped.
- 55:27Speaker 3: From twenty seven to twenty five, which is a notable decline,
- 55:34Speaker 3: and he's scoring and his field goal attemps dropped, His
- 55:38Speaker 3: fiel good attemps dropped by four, his scoring went from
- 55:41Speaker 3: twenty three point five to eighteen point six. That's five
- 55:45Speaker 3: points less, and that's very easily explained because he played
- 55:48Speaker 3: five less minutes. So I think we should adjust our
- 55:53Speaker 3: expectations for Fox in terms of fantasy. I don't think
- 55:57Speaker 3: he can produce like top thirty seasons like he did
- 56:01Speaker 3: for the last five years, I think we should have
- 56:03Speaker 3: you in our mind as more like a top eighty
- 56:06Speaker 3: top seventy player, which is still good, but I didn't
- 56:09Speaker 3: see a run away for him to become that dominant
- 56:13Speaker 3: player that used to be drafted like top twenty or
- 56:16Speaker 3: top thirty again. And also last season had more close
- 56:22Speaker 3: to his career average, so that's something we should keep
- 56:26Speaker 3: in mind as well when we draft him for the
- 56:28Speaker 3: next season.
- 56:29Speaker 2: But I think he's a good fit for the Spurs
- 56:31Speaker 2: despite all the players controversy, and I think with Tobias
- 56:37Speaker 2: Harris entering this special rotation which went to the finals
- 56:41Speaker 2: to the I like this team a lot more. I
- 56:44Speaker 2: think Harris was one of the better to go there,
- 56:47Speaker 2: so I think they did well.
- 56:49Speaker 1: When your third guard is getting the highest contract on
- 56:53Speaker 1: the team by a multiple of two, and by the way,
- 56:56Speaker 1: kids out there, if you can guess the second highest
- 56:59Speaker 1: contract on the Spurs right now, that's right, Devin Vessel
- 57:03Speaker 1: is the second highest contract on the Spurs for this
- 57:05Speaker 1: coming year at twenty seven million. When your third guard
- 57:09Speaker 1: is only getting and he's going to be getting more
- 57:11Speaker 1: than wembin Yama. In actually, throughout the current extension of
- 57:18Speaker 1: wemban Yama, at least through twenty nine to thirty, Fox
- 57:22Speaker 1: is due to receive more than wemban Yama every year
- 57:25Speaker 1: of that contract for four more years. That's not right.
- 57:29Speaker 1: That's not right. That is a problem, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: I'll tell you. I had Darren Fox in a league,
- 57:37Speaker 1: and again I felt like he was a little bit
- 57:39Speaker 1: unfairly maligned for his playoff performance. But it's true, he's
- 57:43Speaker 1: not what he was and his position is more crowded,
- 57:47Speaker 1: and it's a salary league cost us. I had to
- 57:50Speaker 1: work my butt off to move that guy for any
- 57:52Speaker 1: kind of value this offseason, and he still has value.
- 57:56Speaker 1: If you have plenty of cap room on your team,
- 57:58Speaker 1: he's going to give you stats. You just have to
- 58:00Speaker 1: prepare to take that cap hit for what you're going
- 58:03Speaker 1: to get. I had to work hard to move that guy,
- 58:05Speaker 1: but I did ultimately, and I think the other guy
- 58:08Speaker 1: is satisfied too.
- 58:09Speaker 2: So it's you remember, do you remember the return that
- 58:13Speaker 2: you got?
- 58:14Speaker 1: Let me see, And this was a multi sport trade,
- 58:16Speaker 1: so it's going.
- 58:17Speaker 2: To okay, you can let's see.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Oh no, well, yeah, it was some. It was I
- 58:25Speaker 1: got Nic Lodolo in baseball, who's a maybe a top
- 58:28Speaker 1: hundred pitcher, and I got second round picks in NFL
- 58:31Speaker 1: and NBA and a second round pick in NBA. That's
- 58:33Speaker 1: going to be like pick for something like that. So okay, yeah,
- 58:37Speaker 1: to trade a guy at that level, But my cap
- 58:39Speaker 1: is dying. I'm up against my freaking cap. It was
- 58:42Speaker 1: looking rough. But just imagine in terms of talent, like
- 58:46Speaker 1: two years ago, thinking that Darren Fox was worth scraps
- 58:50Speaker 1: from for your fantasy team.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they times move fast in the NBA, and the
- 58:55Speaker 2: situations can changed so so quickly, and if you take
- 58:59Speaker 2: the cup space as well, then it becomes wildly volatile.
- 59:03Speaker 2: I agree.
- 59:05Speaker 1: But the other thing is, at some point one would
- 59:08Speaker 1: think that san Antonio is going to trade him if
- 59:11Speaker 1: they can. It's going to be hard for san Antonio
- 59:13Speaker 1: to trade him. But if they were able to trade
- 59:15Speaker 1: him for another star, and he was able to go
- 59:18Speaker 1: to a lesser team where he could take on a
- 59:21Speaker 1: big role again and eat up usage, he could have
- 59:24Speaker 1: mid career Russell Westbrook type stuff. I don't know, not
- 59:27Speaker 1: quite the same archetype, but still, all right, we've been
- 59:30Speaker 1: through all thirty teams. You've been generous with the time,
- 59:33Speaker 1: and this is good times. Obviously, there's still that one
- 59:36Speaker 1: last piece of the Clippers trade and where they're going
- 59:40Speaker 1: to end up, but this is good stuff. I am
- 59:42Speaker 1: demanding to know when the ras ball basketball content is
- 59:47Speaker 1: coming back. Caused us because I don't see new articles
- 59:50Speaker 1: on there.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Hey, your correct, Your correct. I think we will start
- 59:54Speaker 2: putting other articles at mid late August. Let's say I
- 59:58Speaker 2: am starting for the piece I do every Decision, which
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: is a review of last season's projections to see how
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I did and where I can improve, and then closer
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: to September, I'm going to release my projections for the
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: for a drafts for next season. So if you're interested
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: in this visor.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: To visit Raspball Basketball Dog rasball dot com and check
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: out our content there.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: And I think that's sort of.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Are you guys doing the Are you guys doing the
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: raz gym again this year?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Over there? I think we are. Yes, I think we are,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: but this is something that will be announced closer to September.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: I think, but I think we do. I think we do.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Yeah. So this is for listeners who maybe are interested
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: because I think it is at least offered to the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: general public, or there's something public it, right, but it's
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: a an NFBC or NFC fantasy basketball league. I assume.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I assume there's some sort of entry fees. Was there
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: an entry fee in the past for this thing?
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: No, no, no, I think it's I don't remember last season,
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: if it changed, or it's something it's very negative, something
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Yeah, the plan on that platform is usually there's usually
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: cost associated, but it's the basketball equivalent of Scott Fishbowl
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: or TGFBI. Those are razz slam those types of things. Yeah,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that's something to think. I know Craig played that last year.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure Craig told me he played that and
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: some other people did something. To think about it. If
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: you're thinking about getting in a redraft with some cool,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: cool people, some big industry people this coming year. All right,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: cost us, thank you so much for coming on.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: We'll definitely be soaking up your content when it's coming out,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: and I'm looking forward to the next NBA season.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Thank you, Thanks so much for having us here. Bye bye.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Before we get out of here, a couple of things
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: to mention to you. First of all, thanks to the
