- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you don't build the system, you'll always be stuck in it.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the Reborn Podcast with Tony Beeros, where we dive into faith-driven entrepreneurship.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Today I'm going to be diving into how we are scaling reborn homes with systems, accountability, and faith.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: We don't just flip homes, we flip entire systems.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And here is how we are building Reborn to run on mission, margin, and momentum.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Here is the origin of the Reborn Vision from chaos to clarity.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Once upon a time, I was the type of entrepreneur who uh thought I needed to control everything, who uh didn't sleep at night, who uh had anxiety attacks, and uh wore every single hat in the company.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Uh and and and yet uh did at the end of the year uh significantly lower uh revenue than than I hoped to do.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Uh and and then I found my mission, uh, which is to not only rebuild rebuild homes, give new home uh uh uh life to homes, but give new life to communities, to people, and to systems.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: And since then, not only has our revenue grown, our mission has grown, our uh people have grown, I have personally grown.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And it's all because of the mission and the breaking point that took chaos and turned it into clarity.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So here are our two uh uh systems that are are currently scaling us.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: One is profit first.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Uh profit first is a uh cash management system that helps with uh scaling sustainably while being profitable, while making sure you're paying yourself, and by the way, making sure you're paying your taxes.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: No one wants to pay Uncle Sam.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Has to happen.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Second is Salesforce in our CRM.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Uh we were using a CRM who uh uh was actually a pretty high-quality CRM, uh, but lacked some significant features such as uh automatic KPI tracking and um uh different features that are that are built into uh Salesforce that help with um ensuring reliability and scalability.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Uh and then uh aside from that, uh SOPs from from hiring to sales to dispositions to um uh renovation to uh to various different things, we have SOPs, uh standards of procedure for every single seat, every single task in our company.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Uh and we also uh have streamlined communication with our team.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: We have uh uh cadences in which we meet and they can uh communicate what is needed at any given time.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Uh third is culture and accountability.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Uh we have weekly reviews, which each of our team members, we have a one-on-one each week with our team members.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Uh we track KPIs daily, some are quarterly, some are weekly, some are monthly, some are annually.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, but uh some of the most important KPIs are tracked on a daily basis, which then translate to the quarterly, to the monthly, to the annually, right?
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Uh and then we also have everyday huddle uh where we focus on our priorities, what we're grateful for, um, and what we are are what we're hoping to accomplish that day.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Uh I also have taken a different approach with team ownership and uh really been intentional with being a servant leader, uh, not just saying uh the the buzzword servant leadership, but being a servant leader uh and and and serving those who uh I work for within our company.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Uh uh there's a reverse pyramid where uh the uh most people see the customer at the bottom, the customer is actually at the top, and then uh each level of leadership is towards the bottom.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: So as a CEO, I'm at the bottom in serving everybody.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Um I think also uh as uh Reborn Homes has grown, uh I too have grown in my personal leadership, and this has been through uh mentorship, through experience, through um uh really I I think a big part of it has been vulnerability uh with opening the door to my life uh to those around me and allowing them to pour in uh wisdom and and receiving that um with with clear vision.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Um we also one one of the biggest things for us, uh the reason I wake up uh energized uh every single day is I have faith as a foundation, God as a CEO.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Um of my best friends sent me a text message uh several months ago now that has become my uh lock screen.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And he said, always remember you are just the manager and steward of the business.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: The father is the founder, Jesus is the CEO, and Holy Spirit is a consultant.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Really lean into what that actually means, and you'll be good.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: That would be a piece of advice that I would give to every single entrepreneur watching this right now.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Release control, release the performance mindset, release uh people pleasing, surrender, trust, rest, and give it all to God.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Let go and let God.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: And let go doesn't mean let go of being diligent, let go of uh you know doing what you need to do.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: That means let go of the outcome.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Let God dictate what happens.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, He has better plans for you than you have for yourself.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Uh uh with that, tithing has has become a very consistent thing.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Uh taking Sabbath and making decisions not through not off of whim, not uh because I'm rush and I just need to tell them an answer, but making decisions through prayer.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, not again, people pleasing, but through prayer, pleasing God.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Uh as far as practical tools, I would recommend uh definitely if you have the budget, if you're a uh decent-sized company, I would say generating at a minimum maybe 30 grand a month, maybe doing at least five geos a month, which if you're doing five geos, you're hopefully generating more than 30 grand.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: That'd be that'd be very, very tough.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Um But uh, you know, if you're doing more than five geos a month, I would recommend a move to Salesforce.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: And if you're uh interested in that, I'd I can get you connected with who we use.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Um it's a very uh thorough system that uh I have a lot of belief in.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Uh I also use Notion Dashboards to keep myself accountable uh that I review every single week, uh in some every single day, and uh also have things like this in here where you know I can know what to record for the podcast, for instance.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Um Profit First, I will also drop the link to that in the description below.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Uh Profit First is a book that has helped find uh significantly with our finances within Reborn Home.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Uh and ultimately it's as simple as if you don't build the system, you'll always be stuck in it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: I would actually like to add to that if if you don't build and or find and or uh implement the system which uh is probably a great system that someone who is a bit ahead of you uh has already built.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So use it, it's a lot easier.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Uh and and they've already made the mistakes so that you don't have to.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Uh if you don't, then you'll always be stuck in your current system, your current revenue, your current life, your current uh circumstances.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: So if you want to grow, um growth takes work.
