- 0:09Speaker 1: For decades, we've been told that heart disease is caused
- 0:12Speaker 1: primarily by one thing, cholesterol. But what if that story
- 0:17Speaker 1: is misguided and the real drivers of cardiovascular disease have
- 0:21Speaker 1: been hiding in plain sight. Today, our special guest is
- 0:25Speaker 1: here to help us unpack how heart disease really develops,
- 0:28Speaker 1: why some of the most common treatments may be making
- 0:31Speaker 1: it much worse, and what you can do to begin
- 0:33Speaker 1: supporting your heart health today. Hello everybody, and welcome to
- 0:46Speaker 1: Life TV Now, where we unpack all matters of truth,
- 0:49Speaker 1: faith and freedom. I'm your host, Joe artist Horn. I
- 0:52Speaker 1: think today may be a series of divine appointments for you,
- 0:55Speaker 1: the viewer. I have a feeling somebody out there watching
- 0:58Speaker 1: this program's life may change today with the revelation that
- 1:03Speaker 1: we're going to be talking about right now. But before
- 1:05Speaker 1: we dive in, let me introduce who's here. She's an
- 1:07Speaker 1: integrative nutrition health coach with a Master of Science and
- 1:11Speaker 1: health education. My co host Jamie Woodle, and he's a
- 1:20Speaker 1: doctor of Pharmacy with over thirty five years of experience
- 1:23Speaker 1: who completed a pediatric residency at the Medical University of
- 1:26Speaker 1: South Carolina. He has spent twenty nine years as a
- 1:30Speaker 1: clinical pharmacist and the author of the best selling book
- 1:33Speaker 1: Your Plate Is Your Fate. He now promotes disease prevention
- 1:37Speaker 1: and reversal and is dedicated to helping others embrace true
- 1:41Speaker 1: health through nutrition education. Please welcome doctor Steve Hewlett. If
- 1:51Speaker 1: you missed last week, you have to go back to
- 1:54Speaker 1: the archives, whether that's the SkyWatch television mobile app that
- 1:57Speaker 1: you can download free from the app Store, or perhaps rumble,
- 2:00Speaker 1: maybe you've caught some of this on YouTube, or maybe
- 2:03Speaker 1: you're watching from the PTL or other networks. Go back
- 2:06Speaker 1: and watch our program with doctor Steve Hewlett on this
- 2:10Speaker 1: constant emergence now of GLP one, these get thin quick
- 2:16Speaker 1: schemes that are affecting the pancreas and insulin resistant and
- 2:19Speaker 1: a cascade of other health probably consequences that we haven't
- 2:23Speaker 1: even begun to be able to track it, because we
- 2:25Speaker 1: don't have a decade post mortem on all the casualties
- 2:28Speaker 1: of some of these medications in our view, Go back
- 2:31Speaker 1: and make sure that you catch up. We talked about
- 2:33Speaker 1: type two diabetes, the real root causes of metabolic disease,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and gave some very thoughtful ways that you can begin
- 2:39Speaker 1: to take steps to improve your health. Today, we're going
- 2:42Speaker 1: to zero in on something that is very specific in
- 2:45Speaker 1: terms of heart health because one of the things that
- 2:48Speaker 1: you hear doctor Steve, it is such a common tale.
- 2:52Speaker 1: People watching this program are probably right now, many of
- 2:55Speaker 1: them living on statins, which seems to be Western medicines
- 2:59Speaker 1: of approach to what they decry as cholesterol levels that
- 3:04Speaker 1: are dangerously high. Now, I've seen books like The Great
- 3:08Speaker 1: Cholesterol myth Most of the practitioners and the natural Approach
- 3:12Speaker 1: doctors that I work with will say that a lot
- 3:14Speaker 1: of that is based on a mythos that has been
- 3:17Speaker 1: designed on purpose, yep, to create a customer base of
- 3:20Speaker 1: people depending on statins. I want to ask you what
- 3:23Speaker 1: your thoughts are because I'm not seeing this thing square
- 3:27Speaker 1: people begin medications to lower cholesterol levels. I don't see
- 3:31Speaker 1: healthy outcomes from a lot, not long term. I don't
- 3:34Speaker 1: see that now. I very seldom see people, hey, I
- 3:37Speaker 1: got better and I'm off medications. It's almost more like
- 3:41Speaker 1: it begins the cascade of three to five years later
- 3:43Speaker 1: they're on another medication, and then within a decade they're
- 3:47Speaker 1: on three to five and then there goes Eventually you
- 3:50Speaker 1: know they're in their fifties and now they're living on
- 3:52Speaker 1: oxygen and then eventually they're more and more feeble, they're weaker.
- 3:55Speaker 1: This is not I don't think the trajectory that God
- 3:59Speaker 1: has for us in terms of making sure that our
- 4:01Speaker 1: heart health is actually addressed the root cause of what's
- 4:05Speaker 1: causing let's say, arterial plaque or blockages, or the underlying
- 4:10Speaker 1: root causes of stroke or the things that they're you know,
- 4:13Speaker 1: they're they're treating you for when they raise alarm to
- 4:16Speaker 1: this whole conversation. In your view, these statins, the whole
- 4:20Speaker 1: conversation room, the cholesterol myths, and what we're taught is
- 4:25Speaker 1: how we're supposed to manage heart health.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got to remember drug companies are it's a business.
- 4:30Speaker 2: They are They are there to make more money and
- 4:32Speaker 2: so then thing they can do is if they make
- 4:34Speaker 2: a drug that has an adverse FEC, they had more
- 4:35Speaker 2: drugs for that. So just just remember that they're a business.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And what's crazy is if you looked at last week's
- 4:42Speaker 2: episode and you we talked about diabetes, it really all
- 4:46Speaker 2: this is centered around the same thing, and it's it's
- 4:49Speaker 2: glucose and insulin. It's also around the same thing. It's
- 4:52Speaker 2: even with cholesterol. You got to realize we have been duped.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It is not high LDLs. That's not what is called
- 4:57Speaker 2: car Vester disease. Our body has to have cholesterol. We
- 5:01Speaker 2: could not live without cholesterol. Every single cell, every single
- 5:05Speaker 2: cell in our body that has a nuclear switch, every
- 5:06Speaker 2: cell except red blood cells makes cholesterol because a cell
- 5:10Speaker 2: needs cholesterol to live, and we need cholesterol live and
- 5:13Speaker 2: it's so important that cells. And this will all come
- 5:16Speaker 2: back around to stetons. Cells have two ways of getting cholesterol.
- 5:20Speaker 2: They all make it by themselves.
- 5:21Speaker 3: They make them out.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But if you need more cholesterol, because we need cholesterol
- 5:24Speaker 2: and produce some more fat cells, A lot of our hormones, testosterone, progesteron, estrogen, cortisol,
- 5:31Speaker 2: vitamin D, those are all made out of cholesterol. Our
- 5:34Speaker 2: bodies need cholesterol and needs fat. Every single cell is
- 5:37Speaker 2: that way. So to say that every single cell makes cholesterol.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Our liver it makes about eighty percent of all cholesterol
- 5:45Speaker 2: body uses. Our brains use about twenty percent of all
- 5:48Speaker 2: the cholesterol we need. We need cholesterol. What's happening is
- 5:51Speaker 2: there's two different LDLs, and they always say look at
- 5:54Speaker 2: the LDLs, but there's two different kinds. There a healthy
- 5:57Speaker 2: kind that God made, we have it for and that's
- 5:59Speaker 2: called the large boyant LDL. But then there's a small
- 6:03Speaker 2: dense LDL and that is the killer, is the small
- 6:06Speaker 2: dense LDL.
- 6:07Speaker 3: The way you get them is again just like I
- 6:10Speaker 3: talked last week.
- 6:11Speaker 2: When you eat all this glucose, and you're eating glucose
- 6:13Speaker 2: all the time, okay, but it's in all man made foods,
- 6:15Speaker 2: all plant based foods, you're getting glucose. When you eat glucose,
- 6:19Speaker 2: glucose goes in your blood. Your blood produces insulin to
- 6:22Speaker 2: get rid of it. One of the main things that
- 6:24Speaker 2: insulin does to get rid of this glucose is it
- 6:27Speaker 2: turns it into triglyrides. So now you have a liver
- 6:29Speaker 2: that's sitting here and it's making all these triglystrides, and
- 6:32Speaker 2: then it also makes cholesterol and it needs to transport
- 6:34Speaker 2: that out around the body, so it puts it in
- 6:37Speaker 2: a little protein ship. That's why it's called a lipoprotein.
- 6:40Speaker 2: A very low density lypo protein meants it means it's
- 6:43Speaker 2: a protein.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Shell that has a lot of cholester and a lot.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Of triglyrides in it and that's VLDAL and that's how
- 6:48Speaker 2: it leaves the liver. So it goes around the blood
- 6:52Speaker 2: and it's given the clester on the triglys rides to
- 6:53Speaker 2: all the different places that need it, and as it does,
- 6:56Speaker 2: it shrinks. It goes from a very low density LiPo
- 6:59Speaker 2: protein down to IDL and intermediate density, and then it
- 7:02Speaker 2: shrinks down to low density and a low dance. Lapoprienne
- 7:05Speaker 2: is an LDL, So VLDL turns into an IDL turns
- 7:08Speaker 2: into an LDL. Once it turns into an LDL, after
- 7:11Speaker 2: it's given a lot of its cholesterol and triglytrides way,
- 7:14Speaker 2: it goes back and attaches it to the liver. The
- 7:16Speaker 2: liver takes it back up and it turns it back
- 7:18Speaker 2: into a VLDL again by putting more cargo, more cholester
- 7:21Speaker 2: on triglycerides. That's the way our body normally works. That's
- 7:24Speaker 2: the way it works. However, when you eat so much glucose,
- 7:27Speaker 2: which we do all through the day, every day, year
- 7:29Speaker 2: after year, when you eat so much, you're producing a
- 7:31Speaker 2: ton of triglycerides.
- 7:33Speaker 3: So now when.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Your body's producing this little VLDL and it sends it out,
- 7:36Speaker 2: it has a lot more triglycerides and just a little
- 7:39Speaker 2: bit of cholesterol in it. So as it starts going around,
- 7:41Speaker 2: it starts giving up the triglytrides in cholesterol. It shrinks
- 7:44Speaker 2: down to the idel, shrinks down to an LDL. But
- 7:47Speaker 2: now it's shrunk down smaller because now it's given away
- 7:50Speaker 2: those triglytrides put it in the fat cells, and so
- 7:52Speaker 2: it shrinks down more. So now it becomes a small
- 7:55Speaker 2: dense LDL. The problem with that is when it goes
- 7:59Speaker 2: around your bloodstream, it goes and attach it back to
- 8:02Speaker 2: the liver to say, okay, I'm ready to become a
- 8:04Speaker 2: VLDL again, it doesn't attach.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It's so small it it doesn't fit the receptor.
- 8:09Speaker 2: So the small dense LDL stays out in the circulation
- 8:11Speaker 2: for a long time.
- 8:13Speaker 3: And as it does, you have glucose.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Most of the people you're producing it because you're in
- 8:17Speaker 2: glucose all the time. So glucose attaches to the proteins GLU.
- 8:20Speaker 2: That's why you don't want to hide blood glucose because
- 8:22Speaker 2: it attaches proteins and it kills every protein. And same
- 8:25Speaker 2: thing with this, so it attaches to this LDL. Plus
- 8:28Speaker 2: you have inflammation. So this LDL becomes inflamed, and you
- 8:31Speaker 2: also have a lot of free radicals, so it becomes oxidized.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So now you have the small dents inflamed, glcated and
- 8:38Speaker 2: an oxidized small dense LDL that causes damage to the
- 8:42Speaker 2: blood vessels, and glucose causes damage to the blood vessels.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So it tears it open, that gets inside the blood vessel.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Now your body says, oh, there's something in my blood vessel.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It's not supposed to be there, and so it sends
- 8:52Speaker 2: out markers to try to get rid of it. And
- 8:54Speaker 2: as it does, it overcompsates and it starts making ballooning.
- 8:58Speaker 2: It becomes out called foam cells. It blue that into
- 9:00Speaker 2: the blood vessels, and that's where you get your plaque.
- 9:02Speaker 2: That's where you get your all your clots that are
- 9:05Speaker 2: breaking off. And it all start because you're making too
- 9:07Speaker 2: many triglistrid because of the gluect.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And then what is the diet they're telling you to
- 9:10Speaker 1: avoid all of these healthy fats that you actually need
- 9:13Speaker 1: for brain function, and also the endothelial lining inside of
- 9:16Speaker 1: your entire cardiovascular network needs those healthy fats to go
- 9:19Speaker 1: ahead and repair and to create almost like a slick
- 9:22Speaker 1: coating to the inside of the wall. So when your
- 9:25Speaker 1: insulin is high, when your glucose is high, and you're
- 9:27Speaker 1: not addressing those underlying root causes with a statin, the
- 9:31Speaker 1: inside of your veins just continues to be completely eroded,
- 9:34Speaker 1: completely destroyed. And when then it is more like a
- 9:37Speaker 1: sandpaper type texture, it's very sticky and very pasty. It
- 9:41Speaker 1: wants to grab these LDLs that you're describing and then
- 9:44Speaker 1: pack that to try to self repair, and that is
- 9:47Speaker 1: what is the beginning of internal cardiovascular plaque. So a
- 9:51Speaker 1: lot of these statins don't address any of the underline causes,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but what they do is they prevent the liver from
- 9:57Speaker 1: creating cholesterol. So you go on for you know, a
- 9:59Speaker 1: dec and then some of the damage begins to calcify,
- 10:03Speaker 1: some of the damage begins to be so run away
- 10:06Speaker 1: that your window to have tried to And by the way,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I'm not trying to cast fear because I don't want
- 10:10Speaker 1: people feeling there aren't things that they can do immediately
- 10:13Speaker 1: to start opening those vascular networks, to start repairing the
- 10:17Speaker 1: inside of their endothelial lining.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Do you agree, Oh?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, And you do it by giving your body nutrients.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Our body knows how to repair itself. We just don't
- 10:24Speaker 2: give the nutrients it needs. It needs the protein, it
- 10:27Speaker 2: needs the fat, it needs a cholesterol that needs all
- 10:30Speaker 2: those things in order to be able to repair and
- 10:33Speaker 2: do everything that does.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We give it talks and so it's it in here.
- 10:35Speaker 2: We're having damage and the body doesn't have the ingredients
- 10:38Speaker 2: it needs to fix the damage.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And then we.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Block the liver's function in the manufacturing of cholesterol that
- 10:45Speaker 1: your body needs. And then we see these artificial numbers
- 10:48Speaker 1: drop up on a lab and we say, hey, you're
- 10:50Speaker 1: looking better. Things are looking up, but you've ignored the
- 10:53Speaker 1: underlying root cause, which is probably, in my estimation, I
- 10:56Speaker 1: don't know if you agree, setting these individuals up for
- 10:59Speaker 1: long term days damage and probably a lot more frightening outcomes.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Oh huge.
- 11:03Speaker 1: What are some of the normal signs of cardiovascular disease
- 11:06Speaker 1: that are developing that doctors will just describe as aging
- 11:09Speaker 1: or this is routine. Hey, you're in your fifties, you're
- 11:11Speaker 1: gonna have shortness of breath. Now, you're not a spring
- 11:13Speaker 1: chicken anymore, doctor.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Steve Right, Yeah, Oh yeah, that's what they tell you.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It's normal aging, it's hereditary.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And so that's mainly it because the heart, the heart
- 11:23Speaker 2: is just pump. They're just sitting there and it's pumping
- 11:25Speaker 2: and pumps blood to the lungs to get auction come
- 11:27Speaker 2: back down. It's actually two pumped and then it pumps
- 11:29Speaker 2: the rest of the body. So obviously, if you start
- 11:31Speaker 2: having blockage and you're not getting enough auction to the heart,
- 11:34Speaker 2: one the heart itself kind of starts to die, and
- 11:36Speaker 2: the other is it has the pump harder to get
- 11:39Speaker 2: more oxygen around. So that's one of the first signs
- 11:41Speaker 2: that you get tired on exertion. So you find out
- 11:44Speaker 2: that you can't walk upstairs like you used to. Now
- 11:46Speaker 2: you can't walk across the floor like you used to, right,
- 11:48Speaker 2: And it's all because you're overworking your heart. And the
- 11:51Speaker 2: thing with cholesterol is they they've done studies the cholesterol
- 11:54Speaker 2: that you eat. They've had people eat cholesterol, and the
- 11:57Speaker 2: measure of cholesterol and blood they have that's two different things.
- 12:00Speaker 2: You don't raise your blood cholesterol by eating cholesterol. That's
- 12:05Speaker 2: a lot.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So I ask you, where did this fat makes you fat?
- 12:09Speaker 1: I've heard you talk about this pivotal moment in nineteen
- 12:11Speaker 1: fifty five when President Eisenhower had a cardiovascular event. Is
- 12:15Speaker 1: that when they started the fat makes you fat.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he had a heart attack in nineteen fift five.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Before that, people weren't having heart attacks.
- 12:21Speaker 3: This is all new.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Almost every disease state that you've seen in right now
- 12:24Speaker 2: is kind of new after our dietary guidelines came out
- 12:27Speaker 2: in seventy seven.
- 12:28Speaker 3: But that hard fits five. Two different people went out.
- 12:30Speaker 2: There's John Yuckin who said that, no, this is sugar
- 12:33Speaker 2: that's causing this, and then Ansel Keys just said no,
- 12:36Speaker 2: it's fat.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So Ansel Keys, he was.
- 12:38Speaker 2: A lot better promoter, went around to all these countries,
- 12:41Speaker 2: did no studies, no studies whatsoever. He just happened to
- 12:43Speaker 2: notice in some of these countries the obese people were
- 12:46Speaker 2: also eating fatty food. So he said, oh, fat must
- 12:49Speaker 2: make you fat. So he ran down and did the study.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Looked at twenty one different countries and to prove that
- 12:55Speaker 2: eating fat makes you fat. Fourteen of those countries did
- 12:58Speaker 2: not prove that, so he just dropped them out of
- 13:00Speaker 2: the study. There were seven countries that did, so it's
- 13:04Speaker 2: called now it's called the seven Country Study. But those
- 13:07Speaker 2: seven countries that they weren't looking at and now they
- 13:08Speaker 2: look when they go back and look at even them,
- 13:11Speaker 2: their sugar intake was way elevated also, which goes back
- 13:15Speaker 2: to everything we're saying. The glucose is what starts all
- 13:18Speaker 2: of this. It's all the sugar high frucitose, corn syrup flour,
- 13:21Speaker 2: which is just powdered glucose.
- 13:23Speaker 3: So that's what's going on. That's that's and that's how
- 13:25Speaker 3: it kind of went.
- 13:26Speaker 2: So Ansel keys that he was able to get in
- 13:28Speaker 2: with the American Diabetic Association, American her Association. They got
- 13:31Speaker 2: everybody saying that this is the way it is. And
- 13:33Speaker 2: so that's when our fake food pyramid came out. No
- 13:36Speaker 2: signs behind that. That was from the That was from
- 13:38Speaker 2: the sugar industry to tell the food manufacturers this, how
- 13:41Speaker 2: you get more people addicted to your food. It doesn't
- 13:43Speaker 2: fill them up, doesn't give them any nutrients, so they're
- 13:45Speaker 2: always hungry, they're always eating your stuff. It was it
- 13:48Speaker 2: was a scam to get more people eating their stuff.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Good business model, but horrible for us.
- 13:53Speaker 2: The salt myth actually came out of that study as well. Yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 2: they looked at the populations and they said, oh, well,
- 13:59Speaker 2: salt is it is causing this.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yeah, right, right, which is crazy. You've got to have salt. Salt.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Salt is so important you put electualize you're going to
- 14:06Speaker 2: get the right salt.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, because you don't want to You.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Don't want to go to a big box store and
- 14:12Speaker 1: buy the table salt that they're offering. Likely you want
- 14:14Speaker 1: to get a pink.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Metal and you need the other things that come in
- 14:19Speaker 2: the magnesium. For sure, it's all part of it.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So right now, with statins being a seventeen billion dollar
- 14:26Speaker 1: a year industry. And by the way, we're not disparaging doctors.
- 14:31Speaker 1: We said this in the last Yes, many of the
- 14:34Speaker 1: doctors are altruistic in their belief that they want to
- 14:36Speaker 1: help humanity. This is why they chose that profession and
- 14:39Speaker 1: to their own you know, agonizing uh sacrifice. They put
- 14:43Speaker 1: away careers that maybe they would have preferred or you know,
- 14:45Speaker 1: the possibilities of stardom or maybe even more money in
- 14:48Speaker 1: some cases to do this thing and go through seven years,
- 14:51Speaker 1: you know, take on student loans and go through college
- 14:53Speaker 1: because they want to help humanity. But again, and I'm
- 14:57Speaker 1: always blaming more of the pharmaceutical companies than right much
- 15:00Speaker 1: of the academia.
- 15:01Speaker 3: That these people learn from you.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yes, the fake food pyramid. I think we're seeing some
- 15:06Speaker 1: healthy signs in the United States right now. That culture
- 15:10Speaker 1: is kind of post COVID, really learning that not all
- 15:13Speaker 1: government messaging is prioritizing their health. And I'll just let
- 15:19Speaker 1: the viewers decide for themselves what I mean by that.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But you're seeing the resurgence of farmers markets and people
- 15:24Speaker 1: talking about nutrition. I even think that Robert F. Kennedy
- 15:27Speaker 1: Junior is a side effect of a culture that's demanding change.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And I would say, and you can call me a
- 15:33Speaker 1: conspiratorial looney tune for this, I would say, he's not
- 15:37Speaker 1: going anywhere near far enough, but I'll take what we
- 15:39Speaker 1: can get. And I don't know if internally he's up
- 15:42Speaker 1: against things we don't see. And he's doing what I'm
- 15:46Speaker 1: sure he is, and he's doing what he thinks he
- 15:49Speaker 1: can do to make the culture more aware of some
- 15:53Speaker 1: of what's been going on for decades. But he's like
- 15:55Speaker 1: drinking from a fire hose. You know, it's from what
- 15:58Speaker 1: they're spraying us with in the sky, they're putting in
- 16:00Speaker 1: our bodies when babies are born. What they're injecting we
- 16:04Speaker 1: talked about, you know, GLP ones last week. And you
- 16:06Speaker 1: have a society that's very much interested in sitting and resting,
- 16:11Speaker 1: or they're working in sitting and resting, yep. And they
- 16:14Speaker 1: are wanting gimmick, get thin quick results with the popping
- 16:20Speaker 1: of a pill or maybe an injection of a peptide.
- 16:22Speaker 1: He's got his work cut out from I will take,
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know, outlawing certain dyes in children's and cereals. But
- 16:28Speaker 1: I keep saying, I don't have to eat that garbage.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Right, that's we have it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And that's what you think of when you think of
- 16:34Speaker 2: the food industry. That's not just a food industry. That's
- 16:37Speaker 2: a billion dollar, trillion dollar industry. The sugar industry is feeding,
- 16:41Speaker 2: then the chemical industry is feeding. Then the big ad
- 16:44Speaker 2: with shut with soy corn and wheat, they're feeding them.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So all these companies are making trillions dollars off this
- 16:53Speaker 2: food that's killing us. And then once it kills us,
- 16:55Speaker 2: now the farmasal companies are making money, and farmers into companies.
- 16:58Speaker 3: They're the ones who are paying everybody. They pay the doctors.
- 17:01Speaker 2: They had the convictions, They go to the studies, they
- 17:03Speaker 2: do the journals, They get into the peer of views
- 17:05Speaker 2: for the journals. They're paying for everything, so so obviously
- 17:09Speaker 2: there they are.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Wanting to make more money.
- 17:11Speaker 1: This is really important that we get to this because
- 17:13Speaker 1: there will be people watching this program, Doctor Steve, and
- 17:17Speaker 1: they're so captivated by this. Many of them may even
- 17:19Speaker 1: be living out currently the side effects of a shortness
- 17:24Speaker 1: of breath fatigue. They don't feel right. They don't like
- 17:26Speaker 1: these these drugs that they've been given. But they've been
- 17:29Speaker 1: told this is either hereditary heart disease is inevitable. It's progressive.
- 17:35Speaker 1: There is no stopping. And I can see you greening
- 17:36Speaker 1: right away because you know where I'm going with this.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Now in your view, what are some of the things
- 17:42Speaker 1: that people can start doing to do the unthinkable, and
- 17:45Speaker 1: that is they're told you can't reverse cardiovascular disease, to mitigate,
- 17:49Speaker 1: to slow, to reverse, to improve heart health.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Right, would you mind if I explain how statons work,
- 17:54Speaker 2: because I think it all goes back to least because
- 17:57Speaker 2: it's going to be the same with your reverse type
- 17:59Speaker 2: two diabetes, with you're reversing in high cholesterol. No matter
- 18:01Speaker 2: what you're reversing is I'll go and come back to the
- 18:03Speaker 2: same thing. You got to watch what you eat and
- 18:05Speaker 2: when you're eating nothing but glucose, which is that's what
- 18:08Speaker 2: the food companies have us to do, is eat nothing
- 18:09Speaker 2: with glucose. But what happens is, remember I said at
- 18:12Speaker 2: the first every single cell in our body makes cholesterol
- 18:15Speaker 2: and it needs it. But it doesn't just make cholesterol.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It makes all the other things. They're called isoprenoids that
- 18:22Speaker 2: a cell needs to live. That cell needs to be
- 18:24Speaker 2: able to live, to grow, to replicate, to talk to
- 18:27Speaker 2: other cells.
- 18:27Speaker 3: There's these isoprenoids. What happens is you've.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Got to sell and it say it needs cholesterol, it
- 18:33Speaker 2: needs one of these. Cholesterol is just another isoprenoid. Vitamin
- 18:37Speaker 2: K is one that sells make Coenzyme Q ten is
- 18:41Speaker 2: one that cells make. Obviously the cholesterol, there's the called dolocols.
- 18:46Speaker 3: There's all these different things.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So a cell needs it and says, okay, I need
- 18:50Speaker 2: these things. I need these isoprenoids because I'm surviving. So
- 18:55Speaker 2: what it does is it puts it makes this little
- 18:57Speaker 2: protein called reductase. Okay, hmg, reduct taste. And what that
- 19:02Speaker 2: reduct taste does is it's a little enzyme that's inside
- 19:06Speaker 2: the cell. You eat food and food attaches to this reductase.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Once that does, that produces this chemical col mavalinate. And
- 19:14Speaker 2: I promise I'm not going to get bigger than this
- 19:16Speaker 2: because mavalinate from the valinate, you make cholesterol, coenzyme Q ten, vitaminkay,
- 19:22Speaker 2: these dollar calls, they make all these other iseduprenoids that
- 19:24Speaker 2: the cell needs. So now you have a statin. So
- 19:28Speaker 2: now you've got this cell and that says, oh, I
- 19:31Speaker 2: need some my suprenoids, I need some cholesterol or whatever.
- 19:33Speaker 2: So it starts making this reductase. And now instead of
- 19:37Speaker 2: food attaching to that reductassee, you have the statin, and
- 19:41Speaker 2: once that statin attaches, it clogs it up.
- 19:43Speaker 3: So now it can't make mavalinate.
- 19:46Speaker 2: So the cell sitting there saying, wait a minute, where's
- 19:49Speaker 2: my cholesterol, where's my cocaine? And zom K ten, where's
- 19:51Speaker 2: my vitamin K? So it doesn't think it has what
- 19:54Speaker 2: it needs, so it starts that producing more of this reductassee.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And they've seen that and these patients that the reduct
- 20:01Speaker 2: based level and patients with statins, the reductase levels are
- 20:04Speaker 2: very very high because that's what the cell's doing. The
- 20:08Speaker 2: other thing cell does is more receptors all around the outside,
- 20:11Speaker 2: so as any cholesterol is coming by, it'll attach it
- 20:14Speaker 2: and bring that cholesterol.
- 20:15Speaker 3: In because it's dying.
- 20:16Speaker 2: The cell is dying that needs it, so now it
- 20:19Speaker 2: brings us LDL in. With the LDL is just the
- 20:22Speaker 2: fat moobile, so it brings the cholesterol in from that
- 20:24Speaker 2: fat mobile.
- 20:25Speaker 3: But now it's sitting there.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Saying, well, now I have my cholesterol, where are my
- 20:29Speaker 2: other eyesoprenoids and so the cell dies. You're actually killing
- 20:32Speaker 2: everythingle sell in your body when you take a statin,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and that's why people are seeing severe muscle pain because
- 20:38Speaker 2: that's the most active site your muscle cells.
- 20:40Speaker 3: That's most active, so they're gonna see that first.
- 20:43Speaker 2: But it's actually killing every single SOE because every single
- 20:45Speaker 2: cell in your body makes cholesterol.
- 20:48Speaker 3: So that's what's happening.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So when you're looking at the bloodstream, yeah, your LDL
- 20:52Speaker 2: is coming down, but LDL isn't what's what's doing it.
- 20:56Speaker 3: It's not cholesterol.
- 20:57Speaker 2: It's the small dense LDL like we just talked about.
- 20:59Speaker 2: That's what's cause and it is not cholesterol. Cholesterol as
- 21:02Speaker 2: vital to our existence, we have to have it. So
- 21:05Speaker 2: taking a stat and is actually killing yourselves, and that's
- 21:07Speaker 2: why there's so many adverse effects with these.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Well ladies and gentlemen, what we are not suggesting that
- 21:11Speaker 1: you do today responsibly is go to your medicine cabinet
- 21:14Speaker 1: and take everything and toss it into the recycle bin.
- 21:18Speaker 1: What I would suggest is to find, you know, a
- 21:22Speaker 1: medical practitioner that is in alignment with your goals. So
- 21:25Speaker 1: if it is a goal of yours that you want
- 21:27Speaker 1: to wean away from some of these medications and maybe
- 21:30Speaker 1: look at healthy alternatives that actually support you know, heart health, longevity, vitality,
- 21:35Speaker 1: things like that, I could sit here and recommend you know,
- 21:38Speaker 1: most of the chiropractors that I know have vast knowledge
- 21:41Speaker 1: of Chinese medicine, and a lot of the natural path
- 21:45Speaker 1: doctors or the ends, or the homeopathic doctors or I mean,
- 21:50Speaker 1: there's there's so many they call it cam cam care
- 21:53Speaker 1: and alternative medicine. But finding a practitioner that is in
- 21:56Speaker 1: alignment with your goals and so that they can advocate
- 22:01Speaker 1: you have to advocate for your own health, but they
- 22:02Speaker 1: will help you find the people that you need. If not,
- 22:06Speaker 1: maybe even just help you transition to someone that might
- 22:09Speaker 1: be able to be equipped to help you navigate those priorities.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But ultimately, in my humble opinion, what this wants to
- 22:17Speaker 1: look at is nourishing the body at the cellular level,
- 22:20Speaker 1: not depraving it of what it needs and then spiraling
- 22:23Speaker 1: it into an artificial paper construct that might be harming
- 22:26Speaker 1: you over time. And I also want to make you
- 22:28Speaker 1: aware of doctor Steve's brand new book and I'm going
- 22:31Speaker 1: to bring this up on the screen for You's got
- 22:33Speaker 1: an absolutely amazing cover. Let me read this because it

- 23:43Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks with you write, I think
- 23:48Speaker 1: you've crammed a lot into just two short network episodes
- 23:51Speaker 1: within less than an hour. Got to learn all of that.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Thank you so much, because I know that your vision
- 23:55Speaker 1: is to help people find freedom, to regain their medical autonomy,
- 24:00Speaker 1: be their own advocates, and to be able to get
- 24:02Speaker 1: out of the imprisonment of medications and the doctor visits,
- 24:07Speaker 1: and to reclaim their health, and to maybe not live
- 24:10Speaker 1: with that feeling of foreboding doom that this is irreversible
- 24:14Speaker 1: and absolutely inevitable that I at some point am going
- 24:17Speaker 1: to I don't want to say out loud, where can
- 24:21Speaker 1: people learn? Because I know you're you're doing way more
- 24:23Speaker 1: than this program you're speaking all across the nation as
- 24:25Speaker 1: a health authority. You have your own podcast, You're up
- 24:28Speaker 1: to almost two hundred episodes of your own podcasts. Where
- 24:31Speaker 1: can people learn more about you and the important work
- 24:33Speaker 1: that you're doing.
- 24:34Speaker 2: The easiest way if you just go to doctor Steve
- 24:36Speaker 2: Helett dot com.
- 24:37Speaker 3: That'll be our website.
- 24:38Speaker 2: But if you use doctor Steve Hewlett on anything, whether
- 24:41Speaker 2: it's Facebook, Instagram or anything like that, you can you
- 24:43Speaker 2: can find that. Our podcast is called Nutrition Prescription. It's
- 24:47Speaker 2: Wellness Versus Medication, and that's on everywhere that there's podcasting.
- 24:52Speaker 2: It's on that system. So you can get a podcast anywhere.
- 24:56Speaker 2: And then the book, you know, the book, like I said,
- 24:58Speaker 2: you get here, it's on Amazon. You can get book
- 25:00Speaker 2: wherever you want to get the books as well, And
- 25:03Speaker 2: that's the main thing. All we want to do is
- 25:04Speaker 2: try to get the word out. We're trying to help
- 25:05Speaker 2: people and let them know it is not medication.
- 25:08Speaker 3: If you know.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Being on medication think you're healthy is like taking that
- 25:11Speaker 2: alone and saying you're rich.
- 25:13Speaker 3: That's not the way it works.
- 25:14Speaker 2: So to be healthy, you really want to be on
- 25:17Speaker 2: If you can be on no medications, you're going to
- 25:18Speaker 2: be so much better off.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Some of my personal favorites. If somebody's watching this and
- 25:22Speaker 1: wants to jot a few things down some of my
- 25:24Speaker 1: favorite supplemental supports in people's and again, talk to a
- 25:29Speaker 1: health practitioner that you're comfortable with that is in alignment
- 25:32Speaker 1: with your goals. But I often suggest people do their
- 25:35Speaker 1: own reading about nato, kainse, l arginine, l carnetine, black
- 25:41Speaker 1: seed oil, fermented beats, you can get beat powder.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Yeah, Fermented foods are great.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Fermented foods are amazing. There are lots of co q
- 25:50Speaker 1: ten coenzyme q ten. In fact, one of the most
- 25:53Speaker 1: important when a naturopathic doctor is looking at somebody that's
- 25:56Speaker 1: dealing with cardiovascular issues, one of the first things that
- 25:59Speaker 1: they'll go to as a secret weapon in helping that
- 26:02Speaker 1: person overcome is co Q ten supplement for.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and make sure they're not on stat and because
- 26:06Speaker 2: that's prevent your body from making it.
- 26:08Speaker 1: And that's why you don't want to do this without
- 26:10Speaker 1: the guidance of somebody qualified. You do not. We're not
- 26:12Speaker 1: suggesting again you run to the cabinets and just toss
- 26:15Speaker 1: everything because some of these don't play well right with
- 26:19Speaker 1: natural things I've got friends, unfortunately that are not doing
- 26:22Speaker 1: well and they've had to stop taking magnesium or vitamin K,
- 26:26Speaker 1: things that are the absolute benchmark right foundational supports to
- 26:31Speaker 1: the heart, but they can't take them because their doctors
- 26:34Speaker 1: are saying this is ill advised if you're going to
- 26:36Speaker 1: continue on with these medications, and so I just again
- 26:39Speaker 1: I leave that between them and the Lord to prayerfully
- 26:42Speaker 1: consider their own path. But we just want you to
- 26:45Speaker 1: be well, and that's why this program exists. Unfortunately, we're
- 26:49Speaker 1: all out of time, But did you guys love having
- 26:51Speaker 1: doctor Steve on. We have to do this again. At
- 26:57Speaker 1: some point we'll have to have you back. So game
- 27:01Speaker 1: it's gonna happen, ladies and gentlemen. We will have doctor
- 27:03Speaker 1: Steve look back in studio if the Lord Terry's and
- 27:06Speaker 1: we're all still here, we will do it. Unfortunately, we're
- 27:09Speaker 1: all out of time for everybody here in studio, everybody
- 27:11Speaker 1: up here on panel, Doctor Steve, thank you so much
- 27:13Speaker 1: for being back with us again today. I'm Joe Artist Horn.
