  Speaker 2: What A BOGO.

Speaker 1: Okay, well, you just do.
• 1:59
Speaker 1: So our guest now in the remote studio here of the In Wheel Time Broadcasting Mega Center is Jack's son, Jeff Nicholson.
• 2:11
Speaker 1: There you go and Jeff is from West Point Lincoln.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: I was going to say West Point Lincoln Mercury, but you know, I think that that brand went away a few years ago, it definitely did it did.
• 2:23
Speaker 1: You're too young to know that, but yeah, so now it's just West Point Lincoln.
• 2:28
Speaker 1: Yes sir, and Lincoln's back, definitely yeah.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: How many models of vehicles do you now have?
• 2:35
  Speaker 4: We have four.
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: And they are.
• 2:37
Speaker 4: The Corsair Nautilus Aviator and Navigator, in that order from small to big oh.
• 2:45
Speaker 1: I like that little one.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: I like that little one.
• 2:47
Speaker 1: Is that the biggest seller for you, or is it the Navigator, the Navigator.
• 2:50
  Speaker 4: And the.
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: Navigator.
• 2:51
Speaker 1: Of course it is.
• 2:51
Speaker 1: Yes, I'll tell you what.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: It's been a while since I had one, but the seats in that Navigator.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: Oh my God, it's like you took that leather, your favorite leather chair that you watch TV and game with, and put it in a vehicle.
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: Ooh, it's comfy.
• 3:10
Speaker 1: So where do you want to start?
• 3:12
Speaker 1: What's down there in the West Point?
• 3:14
Speaker 1: Well, it's actually the Lincoln booth.
• 3:16
Speaker 1: I assume that you're just manning it today.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: Yes, sir, you're not trying to sell cars down there, you are a product expert.
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: He's an educator.
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: Yes, definitely.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: Well, in our language, it's edumacator.
• 3:28
Speaker 3: Edumacator, but that's, okay.
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 3:30
Speaker 1: So, Jeff, where do you want?
• 3:33
  Speaker 4: to start.
• 3:33
Speaker 4: So we have the 2025 Navigator over there on display.
• 3:37
Speaker 4: It is open for everybody to look at, sit in play with, and we do have some salespeople over there that will be happy to answer any questions, even me as well.
• 3:47
Speaker 4: We're not going to push you to sell for anything, um.
• 3:50
Speaker 4: We're just going to give you some product knowledge and make sure that you have a great time at the automotive and so do you, I mean obviously to me.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: In my mind, the main competitor is the Chevy Suburban, the Cadillac Escalade.
• 4:09
Speaker 1: As I like to call it and the GMC version of it, Right, yes, sir.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: And when you do your product review, if you will, for somebody that's looking at it, do you compare?
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Do you say, well, well, our vehicle does this and has this and priced this way.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: And if you're comparing it to the navigator, uh and?
• 4:34
Speaker 1: And comparing that with the cadillac escalade, here's what you're going to find in our vehicle.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: Do you do that?
• 4:42
Speaker 4: yes, because I want to know that?
• 4:44
Speaker 1: yeah, because if I'm, if I'm shopping the navigator, I'm shopping the escalade too.
• 4:48
Speaker 4: Definitely aren't they priced competitively.
• 4:51
  Speaker 4: They are um.
• 4:52
Speaker 4: The price of the 25 navigator did go up a little bit, but it starts at a hundred thousand dollars and goes up from there.
• 4:58
Speaker 4: But it definitely is very, very comparable or even better than the Escalade, as you call it.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: Well, and I want to know that thing, and we tout on the show.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: The really nice part about the Houston Auto Show is the fact that you can learn all of these things and compare these vehicles in one venue.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: I don't have to drive out to West Point and then go down the way to the Cadillac dealership.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: Plus, I don't have to have that sales pressure put on me.
• 5:32
Speaker 1: I want to come here and I want to find out about it and that's the really cool thing to me about it, as long as I've been coming to it, which has been at least 55 years, because Conestoga wagons, you know, that's the nice thing about it?
• 5:48
Speaker 4: definitely, yeah, yeah, I love it here.
• 5:49
Speaker 4: Um, we have a ride and drive outside for the 25 nautilus.
• 5:53
Speaker 1: Yes, oh, for the nautilus.
• 5:54
  Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
• 5:54
Speaker 1: And where does the nautilus fit in?
• 5:56
Speaker 1: Is it underneath the navigator?
• 5:58
Speaker 4: so it is underneath the aviator.
• 5:59
Speaker 4: It is our midsize two row midsize.
• 6:01
  Speaker 4: The midsize.
• 6:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, Seems to me that that would well.
• 6:05
Speaker 1: That and the smaller one would be inching up on sales, probably because of the price for one and what you get in it, Because now you're competing with things like Jaguar.
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: Yes, yeah.
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: Correct.
• 6:18
Speaker 4: Porsche, jaguar, porsche, cadillac, volvo, all of them, yeah, and let's not forget Buick, buick.
• 6:25
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, buick's creeping up for sure.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Because he owns the dang.
• 6:29
Speaker 2: Buick, that's why, Don't feel bad.
• 6:32
Speaker 4: It used to be.
• 6:32
  Speaker 3: Cadillac.
• 6:33
Speaker 5: Now it's Buick, now it's Buick, now it's.
• 6:35
Speaker 4: Buick Could be Lincoln, could be Lincoln, it could be Definitely.
• 6:39
Speaker 1: You yeah, down there at West Point, where is?
• 6:42
  Speaker 4: West Point.
• 6:42
Speaker 4: West Point is off of I-10 in Kirkwood, right.
• 6:45
Speaker 4: Okay, we also do have a Sugar Land location, which is 59, roughly around West Airport area, and it's very nice down there.
• 6:53
Speaker 4: It's right next to the old Texas Direct Auto that used to be down there, right.
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: That's right.
• 6:57
Speaker 4: Yes, I know exactly where you are and which one are you at.
• 7:00
Speaker 4: I am the kirkwood location and i-10.
• 7:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, well, business should be pretty good out there, yeah, definitely yeah we are the energy corridor of houston, exactly, and where we got all those people coming.
• 7:11
Speaker 1: Do you live out there?
• 7:12
Speaker 1: I live in richmond oh my god, it's not far, it's far enough.
• 7:17
Speaker 1: On i-10 yeah, i-10 and kirkwood.
• 7:19
Speaker 1: What time you're supposed to be at work every day?
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: Uh, 9, 30 9, 30, 4.
• 7:24
Speaker 2: So he's at the tail end.
• 7:25
Speaker 2: So he's at the tail end of morning drive.
• 7:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's walking in with his tie.
• 7:29
Speaker 2: He'll be like that.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: Got to make sure I look spiffy yeah exactly.
• 7:32
Speaker 1: How long have you been in the car business?
• 7:36
  Speaker 4: Almost seven years.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: Really Almost seven years and did you raise your hand to get in the car business?
• 7:45
Speaker 4: Where did you start?
• 7:45
Speaker 4: I started at uh auto nation, uh cdjr and katie, and then just moved around from there looking at different cars.
• 7:51
Speaker 1: I worked at cadillac, um, even kia for just a little bit for a week so when, when you were, when you were in high school, you said I want to be a car salesman I wanted to work in the car industry.
• 8:06
Speaker 4: Did you particularly because?
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: that's.
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: That was me.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: Because I was in high school I wanted to be in the service department, gotcha, because I was in new car make ready at a place called richardson chevrolet it doesn't exist anymore, but uh.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: So I worked at a very, very busy dealer, yes, and they sold a ton of Chevys, definitely.
• 8:27
Speaker 1: And so, you know, I started New Car Make Ready washing, getting cars ready to go out to the customer that just bought it, yes, and then graduation came along.
• 8:38
Speaker 1: I thought you know what I want to get into the service side.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: So I was a service advisor.
• 8:45
Speaker 1: They sent me to GM training school, learned a few things there and got skated on by all of the other people that were in the service department and that didn't work out too well for me.
• 8:56
Speaker 1: But I learned a lot and it was an interesting thing.
• 8:59
Speaker 1: It's not that way anymore.
• 9:01
Speaker 1: Dealerships are a lot different than they were back then.
• 9:06
Speaker 1: And the very successful ones.
• 9:09
Speaker 1: They got their act together.
• 9:10
Speaker 1: They know what they're doing.
• 9:12
Speaker 1: They have a lot more tools in the sales department.
• 9:14
Speaker 1: I mean, you got computers.
• 9:17
Speaker 1: You can shop what you're selling.
• 9:20
Speaker 1: You can shop around and see what other people are asking for.
• 9:23
Speaker 1: You know, yeah, selling.
• 9:25
Speaker 1: You can shop around, see what other people are asking for.
• 9:27
Speaker 1: You know, yeah, um, it's um.
• 9:27
Speaker 2: It's an interesting market today, and to go into a new car dealership is an experience my first was a service writer at a cadillac dealership in ann arbor, michigan, and that was when you had five copies press hard.
• 9:38
Speaker 2: You know to all the service writers all the parts and things like that now getting to your computerized so vast differences and it didn't take long to get to the computer age but that's not where you started.
• 9:49
Speaker 2: You started on an assembly line.
• 9:50
Speaker 2: Well, I started for uh yeah, I've worked it for fisher body in the car industry on an assembly line, but so far as public and on in dealerships was the cadillac dealership did you have somebody paved the way to get in there?
• 10:03
Speaker 2: I went to high school with a guy.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: His dad was the GM and he worked in service and they needed somebody else in service.
• 10:10
Speaker 2: So I applied and got it Nice.
• 10:13
Speaker 2: So we rode together in high school and all that stuff, yeah.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: It was kind of like me.
• 10:16
Speaker 1: I had a friend of mine, so you didn't have a friend in the car business, you just went for it yourself.
• 10:21
Speaker 4: Yep, I just went for it yourself.
• 10:22
Speaker 4: Yep, I just went straight for it and said, hey, I want to work.
• 10:24
Speaker 4: You know, I went straight into work and I was like, let's do this yeah well, you seem like a very approachable kind of guy, thank you.
• 10:31
Speaker 1: So if, yeah, yeah, I mean, if I'm gonna buy a car, I'd rather buy it from you.
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: Oh, thank you.
• 10:35
Speaker 1: Some old gray-haired fart that is like, uh, you know curmudgeon, that's been in the car business all his life.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you want?
• 10:43
Speaker 1: Oh, you want one of those.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, we got a couple of them out there in the back lot.
• 10:47
Speaker 1: You want to go take a?
• 10:48
Speaker 2: look at if you like something.
• 10:49
Speaker 1: Sign this, sign right here.
• 10:50
Speaker 1: You want to drive it you really want to drive it.
• 10:54
Speaker 2: And speaking of that, you keep saying sign it and sign it.
• 10:56
Speaker 2: When I bought my vehicle, they gave me a usb as all the documents.
• 11:03
Speaker 2: They don't hand you paper anymore or an envelope.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: They give you one of these.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: They give you a flash drive with all your documents on it.
• 11:08
  Speaker 2: That's it.
• 11:09
Speaker 2: That's all your paper.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: What do you sign?
• 11:11
Speaker 2: You sign electronically on the computer.
• 11:14
Speaker 2: You just sign the screen.
• 11:16
Speaker 2: With your finger, with your finger or toe, whatever you want, to sign it with Nose, and then they give you the flash drive at the end.
• 11:21
Speaker 2: Do you do that?
• 11:24
Speaker 4: Yes, that's the way you do it.
• 11:26
  Speaker 2: That's technology.
• 11:27
Speaker 1: You know this index finger doesn't work, the same as a pen and that signature on there it's like.
• 11:35
  Speaker 2: Whose is that?
• 11:36
Speaker 1: Oh, that's mine With a finger Doesn't work, so how is?
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: Oh?
• 11:43
Speaker 1: Look at there, that's your granddaughter.
• 11:46
Speaker 2: And there's your wife.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, and there's Donna.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: Look, they made it in.
• 11:52
Speaker 1: They let you guys in this place.
• 11:53
Speaker 1: We told them not to, so somebody didn't do their job, but it's good to see you.
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: She's wearing her A&M shirt.
• 12:01
  Speaker 2: Texas A&M.
• 12:02
Speaker 1: yes I remember my daughter went to Alabama, uh-oh, got a rivalry.
• 12:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, there, see that.
• 12:06
Speaker 1: I remember my daughter went to Alabama, uh-oh, got a rivalry.
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: Yeah, there's that.
• 12:08
Speaker 1: So that's another story for a different day.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: Anyway, how is inventory at your dealership?
• 12:17
Speaker 4: We have a bunch of inventory to get rid of All of our cars.
• 12:21
Speaker 4: We have like 50 to 80 navigators.
• 12:24
  Speaker 3: Really yeah.
• 12:26
Speaker 4: So we're trying to get rid of them.
• 12:27
Speaker 4: We do have 0% for 72 months or for 84 months.
• 12:31
  Speaker 4: It's 1.9.
• 12:32
Speaker 2: Are they offering any kind of show specials?
• 12:34
Speaker 2: If you come back to our dealership, we'll give you X amount off.
• 12:37
  Speaker 2: Come see.
• 12:38
Speaker 1: Jeff, no, but they will give you a free tote bag, tote bag.
• 12:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, a tote bag.
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: Tote bag.
• 12:43
Speaker 2: All right, yeah, I'm in.
• 12:45
Speaker 1: Those are ones that he stole from the other manufacturers, From the Kia here.
• 12:49
Speaker 1: Let me go out to the car and open the trunk.
• 12:51
Speaker 2: I got one for you from the Jeep people.
• 12:54
  Speaker 1: He's a Kia for a week.
• 12:56
  Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
• 13:01
Speaker 2: You know your boss is going to get this and he's going to go.
• 13:03
Speaker 1: What the hell did they do to my poor salesman?
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: They're going to.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: Jeff, could I see you in my office, but I didn't do it.
• 13:08
Speaker 1: It wasn't my fault.
• 13:09
Speaker 2: I'm so sorry he's an old guy.
• 13:11
Speaker 2: Mike, yeah, these are old people.
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: I couldn't help it.
• 13:14
Speaker 1: They run me out of there.
• 13:18
Speaker 2: Well, he's got to be doing something right.
• 13:19
Speaker 2: He came back, he's still there, he's still with West Point.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: So do you have 24s that you're trying to get rid of?
• 13:24
Speaker 1: Are 25s coming in?
• 13:26
Speaker 4: now, so the 25s will roughly be in around April to June time.
• 13:30
Speaker 4: We're hoping earlier, but that is kind of the time frame that we are looking at right now.
• 13:34
Speaker 4: But we do have 24s on the lot, yeah, so we're trying to move them and just they have a great selection for sure, yeah.
• 13:42
  Speaker 1: West Point, Lincoln.
• 13:43
Speaker 1: Now is it that in both locations They've got 50 Navigators in both?
• 13:50
  Speaker 4: locations.
• 13:51
Speaker 4: So that is just on our Kirkwood location at the moment.
• 13:54
Speaker 4: I don't know personally how many are at the Sugar Land location.
• 13:57
Speaker 1: Here's the phone you want to call them.
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: I'm just teasing.
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: No, that's okay.
• 14:01
Speaker 4: Now, what about the other models?
• 14:02
  Speaker 4: The other models?
• 14:03
Speaker 4: We do have a good amount of Corsairs.
• 14:05
Speaker 4: We do have a lot of Nautilus coming in daily and we're just pumping them out.
• 14:11
Speaker 1: Okay, besides the $100,000 Navigator, besides that, what is your favorite one?
• 14:17
Speaker 1: Honestly, the Aviator, the Aviator.
• 14:20
Speaker 1: And where does that fit in the lineup?
• 14:22
  Speaker 4: Is that?
• 14:23
Speaker 4: Second from the bottom, so second from the top.
• 14:26
  Speaker 4: Yes, it's a midsize three-row SUV.
• 14:28
Speaker 4: Well, wait a minute.
• 14:29
Speaker 4: So you've got four vehicles.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: Yes, so it would be the middle one.
• 14:35
Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I got it Okay.
• 14:37
Speaker 4: And why is it your favorite?
• 14:38
  Speaker 4: Honestly, because it's rear-wheel drive.
• 14:40
Speaker 4: I love rear-wheel drive vehicles and all-wheel drive capability.
• 14:43
Speaker 4: That thing is just fun to drive.
• 14:45
Speaker 4: All-wheel drive capability um that thing is just fun to drive 400 horsepower um real turbo v6.
• 14:51
Speaker 1: Yes, is it the twin turbo v6?
• 14:58
Speaker 1: Yes, three liter twin turbo v6, that's a lot 400 horsepower, yeah, out of that little v6.
• 15:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, mr mars, yes, sir, uh, if you'd look down, there's somebody that's been trying to get a hold of you and we're going to get him a pull string so he can get his attention, I guess.
• 15:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, something, yeah it's always something, always something.
• 15:17
Speaker 1: All right, well, jeff Nicholson.
• 15:20
  Speaker 1: Thank you, sir.
• 15:22

  Speaker 2: Club Challenge.
• 19:03
Speaker 2: I'm going to run through this.
• 19:04
Speaker 2: I do have a couple of complaints, but we got coming up march nhra.
• 19:08
Speaker 2: March 6th they're going to be at the gator nationals in gainesville raceway, nascar, starting tomorrow.
• 19:14
Speaker 2: At the clash of bowmen I saw a little special oh, I did that's a.
• 19:18
Speaker 2: That's such a historic race I saw like an hour special on that uh, actually just the other day.
• 19:23
Speaker 2: So it's going to be interesting.
• 19:24
Speaker 2: But nascar, they're going to go on the streaming side.
• 19:25
Speaker 2: So it's's going to be interesting.
• 19:26
Speaker 2: But NASCAR, they're going to go on the streaming side, so it's not going to be an NBC thing constantly through the season.
• 19:31
Speaker 2: They're going to have to buy a subscription to get on some streamer to do that Hell no.
• 19:36
Speaker 2: The other complaint I have is last week was IMSA.
• 19:38
Speaker 2: Imsa racing was last week and it was the 24-hour of Daytona and it was all advertised NBC is going to have the final six hours.
• 19:46
Speaker 2: It wasn't, it was a soccer game you had to get on streaming.
• 19:49
Speaker 2: You had to get on streaming.
• 19:51
Speaker 2: So, imsa, I'm not happy with you.
• 19:53
Speaker 2: All right, then we've got Soapbox Derby Don, north Florida.
• 19:58
Speaker 2: Soapbox Derby practice February 8th this next week is coming up.
• 20:02
Speaker 2: So get your soap, get your box, get on out there.
• 20:04
Speaker 2: And then, of course, the demolition derbies are starting again this spring.
• 20:07
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so there you go.
• 20:09
Speaker 1: So that's all the racing you ever been to a demolition, derby David, you haven't.
• 20:13
  Speaker 2: Huh, coming up.
• 20:14
Speaker 2: They're so much fun.
• 20:16
Speaker 2: Yep, it's actually soon A couple more weeks.
• 20:20
Speaker 2: We've got another one coming up.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: Love demolition derbies so.
• 20:24
Speaker 2: NASCAR and IMSA and all you racing folks.
• 20:27
Speaker 2: Get off the platforms, Get off the streaming, Go back to regular TV.
• 20:31
  Speaker 1: Listen I don't mind streaming.
• 20:33
  Speaker 2: I don't either.
• 20:33
Speaker 1: I don't mind that, but put it on something that I don't have to pay extra for because, I'm not doing it.
• 20:38
Speaker 1: Matter of fact, I am a huge NHRA fan.
• 20:41
Speaker 1: If it's not on something that I can get like, on Roku or, you know, regular broadcast, I'm not going on it.
• 20:48
Speaker 1: I'm not doing it.
• 20:49
Speaker 1: I'm cutting stuff, all right, all right, all right, mr Morris, this week in auto history.
• 20:56
  Speaker 3: Besides me?
• 20:56
  Speaker 3: Yeah, buddy.
• 20:58
Speaker 3: So this week in auto history, back in 1917, and I did not know this.
• 21:02
Speaker 4: Ford began its production.
• 21:03
Speaker 3: Well then, you probably drove one of these.
• 21:05
Speaker 3: They began building the Fordson tractor.
• 21:08
Speaker 3: Now I bring it up because this was one of the first affordable tractors.
• 21:12
Speaker 3: Did you call it Fordson?
• 21:13
  Speaker 3: Fordson F-O-R-D-S-O-N.
• 21:16
Speaker 3: Fordson tractor okay, introduced in 1917.
• 21:20
Speaker 3: It really changed the way that farmers could do it because it actually ended up replacing the horse pull plow.
• 21:26
Speaker 3: It had a 20-horsepower, it was lightweight, all metal including the wheels, and it was actually produced in the united states, the uk and in ireland up until 1964 and, uh, it really changed things as far as agriculture and industrial machinery goes.
• 21:45
Speaker 3: Now also this week, in 1930, jeff Cadillac introduced the V16 engine.
• 21:53
Speaker 3: Now this featured one of the first V16 engines produced.
• 21:58
Speaker 3: It was a 7.4 liter, that's 452 cubic inch engine with 165 horsepower.
• 22:03
Speaker 3: It really had a lot of accolades for how well it ran, how smooth it ran and for the refinement so it was.
• 22:13
Speaker 3: But coming up into the Depression so it kind of limited sales didn't take it and they didn't build it real long.
• 22:19
Speaker 1: I tried to mount one of those on my lawnmower one time.
• 22:22
Speaker 1: It just didn't quite fit.
• 22:24
Speaker 3: No, no I can see that.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: But by the way, Mr Mars, I just want you to know that the video stream has stopped working, so this is just an audio thing.
• 22:31
Speaker 3: And I've been working on that, and I have a message for Jeff as soon as I get through it.
• 22:34
  Speaker 3: What is it?
• 22:35
Speaker 3: Is that a hand signal?
• 22:36
Speaker 1: Because I know what that hand signal is here it is right here, yeah yeah, yeah.
• 22:40
Speaker 3: So, but you might.
• 22:42
Speaker 3: What you could do, don go back to your lawnmower, maybe get the 431 cubic inch V16 that came out in 1938.
• 22:49
Speaker 3: That might fit a little bit better.
• 22:50
Speaker 3: So also this week in 1955, general Motors introduced the legendary small-block Chevrolet 265.
• 23:00
Speaker 3: 265, that's correct, had up to 180 horsepower.
• 23:04
Speaker 3: And really what makes this significant because for the 55, 56, 57, I mean those were some classics that the Chevrolet built the small block, they made the engines bigger and it really changed, particularly hot rodding and the way that we look at things like that.
• 23:19
Speaker 3: Also this week in 1958, the first Toyotas were sold in the United States.
• 23:25
Speaker 3: Now they came into the market with the Toyopet crown, I think that's how you say it.
• 23:32
Speaker 1: Let me see that Toyopet, toyopet crown.
• 23:40
Speaker 2: This was the precursor to a Chia Pet.
• 23:42
  Speaker 2: A Chia Pet.
• 23:44
Speaker 3: That came much later.
• 23:44
Speaker 3: That was the second generation.
• 23:47
Speaker 1: This was the Japanese version of the Chia Pet.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: This is the Toyopet.
• 23:53
Speaker 3: So this model was the crown.
• 23:54
  Speaker 3: It had a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine.
• 23:56
Speaker 3: It had 60 horsepower.
• 23:58
Speaker 3: It was very durable but it was kind of a sluggish because of the weight of the vehicle.
• 24:02
Speaker 3: Now, they only sold 287 units before.
• 24:06
Speaker 3: They stopped selling this vehicle in 1961.
• 24:09
Speaker 3: But then they came back in 1965 with the toyota corona oh, not corolla, the corona corona that was Corona, that was a cigar, it was a beer.
• 24:18
  Speaker 3: Or a beer.
• 24:18
Speaker 3: So anyway, they felt this was better suited for making roads, and that began Toyota's long-term success.
• 24:26
  Speaker 3: I mean, they've become really a major?
• 24:28
Speaker 1: Is this a long feature that you're going to do today?
• 24:31
Speaker 3: I can make it long.
• 24:32
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 24:33
Speaker 3: Well, you're doing that already.
• 24:34
Speaker 3: So that's this week in automotive history.
• 24:37
  Speaker 1: Thank God.
• 24:37
Speaker 1: Get back to trying to get our video stream back up.
• 24:40
Speaker 1: I'm working on it.
• 24:41
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 24:41
Speaker 1: I got some stories.
• 24:43
Speaker 1: We're making news headlines this week.
• 24:45
Speaker 1: Tesla will finally launch a long-promised commercial robo-taxi service in June Guess where?
• 24:53
Speaker 1: Austin, texas man that's going to expand the ride-hiling network across the us and globally.
• 25:04
Speaker 1: According to ceo elon musk, he told the investors that on january 29th he says the proof is in the pudding.
• 25:12
Speaker 1: Musk said on tesla's fourth quarter call.
• 25:16
Speaker 1: So we're going to be launching unsupervised full self-driving as a paid service in Austin in June.
• 25:24
  Speaker 1: Good luck.
• 25:25
Speaker 1: In its financial report, tesla said fourth quarter profits fell but revenue rose slightly.
• 25:32
Speaker 1: Musk, who acknowledged broken past promises, said Tesla vehicles are already operating autonomously at its Fairmont sorry, fremont California factory, driving themselves off the assembly line to designated parking spots in a holding lot.
• 25:48
Speaker 1: Hell, I think that we could do that, couldn't we?
• 25:51
  Speaker 1: Yep?
• 25:51
Speaker 1: What is this all hanging down there?
• 25:54
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 25:54
Speaker 2: Could you fix that yeah?
• 25:55
  Speaker 1: yeah down there.
• 25:56
Speaker 1: Could you fix that?
• 25:57
Speaker 1: Tesla's full service driving software is classified as an advanced driver assistance feature.
• 26:03
Speaker 1: That requires a human supervisor for safety.
• 26:07
Speaker 1: Okay, for those that are in the market to buy a new car, the Federal Reserve on January 29th announced no changes to the central bank's benchmark interest rate policy after its first Federal Open Market Committee meeting of 2025.
• 26:27
Speaker 1: The federal fund's rate target will remain at 4.25 to 4.5 percent, where it has stood since a quarter point cut in December, federal Open Market Committee said January 29th.
• 26:41
Speaker 1: Investors expected the Fed to leave its benchmark rate alone this month as US inflation had remained higher than the central bank's goal of 2%.
• 26:50
Speaker 1: So it ain't going to change anytime soon.
• 26:54
Speaker 1: If it does, it'll be a quarter of a point.
• 26:55
Speaker 1: So get out there and buy, buy, buy, bye-bye, wait a minute.
• 27:00
Speaker 4: Isn't that a Taylor Swift song?
• 27:02
  Speaker 2: No that's a boy band.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: NSYNC Is it NSYNC Something like that.
• 27:06
  Speaker 1: Bye-bye-bye.
• 27:07
Speaker 3: You would know a boy band.
• 27:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would, because I used to be in one.
• 27:10
Speaker 1: Actually, I'm in one now.
• 27:21
Speaker 2: I heard that out loud.
• 27:22
Speaker 2: He did yeah, he did.
• 27:24
Speaker 1: He said it and I couldn't help myself, but I had to chuckle at that.
• 27:28
Speaker 1: We've got a lot more coming up.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: We've got this is a three-hour extravaganza that we're doing here.
• 27:35
Speaker 2: So is the SS Minnow.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, that was a three-hour tour.
• 27:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a boat of show and we could sink at any minute, that's true, we're treading water right now.
• 27:46
Speaker 1: Right, we are Matter of fact.
