- 0:01Most people have had the experience.
- 0:04They decide to try a new diet or exercise regimen.
- 0:08They stick with it a few days or weeks and then it seems to get
- 0:12overlooked, forgotten or abandoned.
- 0:16Other things got in the way, or else the impulses cause them to
- 0:21weaken their resolve. How many times people decide to
- 0:25cut out between meal snacks only to find themselves following the
- 0:30old habit? Why does this happen?
- 0:34While we tend to believe that once we make up our mind about
- 0:37something that we can carry it out, we failed to account for
- 0:41the different parts of our being that have their own needs,
- 0:44desires, and pressures to effectuate those desires.
- 0:49The mind may decide on a course of action, but the vital being
- 0:53and the physical being disagree. It is only when all the parts of
- 0:59the being are in alignment on a particular goal or action that
- 1:02it can be put into practice in a complete way.
- 1:06The mother calls this sincerity. Without this type of sincerity,
- 1:12we are pushed and pulled in various directions.
- 1:15We give way to divergent pressures and drives, and we
- 1:19find our good intentions overturned when the vital nature
- 1:23or the body assert their separate directions.
- 1:27A disciple asks sweet mother, how can we make our resolution
- 1:32very firm? The mother observes quote by
- 1:37wanting it to be very firm laughter.
- 1:41Now this seems like a joke, but it is absolutely true. 1 does
- 1:46not want it. Truly, there is always if you.
- 1:50It is a lack of sincerity. If you look sincerely, you will
- 1:55see that you have decided that it will be like this.
- 1:57And then beneath there is something which is not decided
- 2:02at all and is waiting for the second of hesitation in order to
- 2:06rush forward. If you are sincere, if you are
- 2:10sincere and get hold of the part which is hiding, waiting, not
- 2:15showing itself, which knows that there will come a second of
- 2:18indecision when it can rush out and make you do the thing you
- 2:22have decided not to do, But if you really want it, nothing in
- 2:28the world can prevent you from doing what you want.
- 2:32It is because one doesn't know how to will it, and it is
- 2:35because one is divided in one's will.
- 2:38If you are not divided in your will, I say that nothing, nobody
- 2:42in the world can make you change your will.
