  [SPEAKER_00]: And specifically, the Jaguarists have enough for a prominent defensive line to really affect the quarterback consistently.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't last year, in my opinion, down the stretch, partially due to injury, partially due to lack of development from a player who's no longer in Jacksonville, Mason Smith, Jaguars, traded Mason Smith for

  [SPEAKER_00]: Rook a row a row and they're hopeful that he can provide something there too, but the past rush wasn't as good as it needed to be down the stretch last year and a big part of that too in my opinion was the fact that you didn't have Travis Hunter out there at corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And coverage, they have to marry.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In order for that pastoralists to really thrive and come alive, especially down the stretch and the playoffs when you're playing against really good quarterbacks, playing against really good offensive lines a lot of times.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When I look at the Jack Wars roster and I look at their coaching on the defensive side of the ball, I feel very confident that they did get better enough to impact it from the back end, like getting Travis Hunter back there at Cornerback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be healthy entering the season or at least he should be based on his kind of projection and his recovery timeline.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown, bringing him back, I think, was huge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I like a lot of what they have at safety.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis is expected to be back before the start of the regular season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Jari and Jones that can play in the nickel as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Safety, you're talking about Antonio Johnson, Eric Murray, getting Caleb Ramsau back, who you saw Ray on Lane as a rookie.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, you went and got Jalen Husky.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was a fun player as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think somebody that you could have some excitement about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think in this, you know, second level of the defense, you've got good football players foe, a loo can have been draw miller currently looking like they're going to be your stars obviously foe, a loo can, I've pointed to been draw miller being a starting caliber player back there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I landbacker weeks, I landbacker next to foe all off season and I think that's at least the direction it looks like the jack bars are trending in at this moment.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But again, it just comes back to me like, is the past Russian enough in these big moments, in these big games?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think that you can definitively say the answer is no.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also don't think you can definitively say that the answer is yes either.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so that's why it's a question for me personally.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think some fans out there will probably definitely say, hey, it's not enough.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think some fans might tell you, maybe it is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I just don't know at this point

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do know if you're going to have an elite defense, if you're going to win a Super Bowl, you gotta have that defense of front Hummin.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they will be Hummin as a run defense unit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I feel very confident in that part of it as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also think Anthony Camponele will do a tremendous job calling the defense as he did last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think that, again, going back to the coverage,

  [SPEAKER_00]: getting open so quickly because you're so far off the ball, that it's basically quick game for the quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen, he's gonna eat you up doing that, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Other quarterbacks around the league and the playoff, they're gonna be doing the same thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I do think when you look at the way Buster Brown played in the playoffs, when you look at what Travis Hunter was doing before he got injured,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I feel confident that that won't be the case consistently enough to wear like you're just getting knickled and dime down the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they will do enough to slow down and make quarterbacks have a little pause and then so does the defense get home.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think so, I lean towards yes because I do strongly believe in Josh Hines Allen and a healthy Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And a healthy Eric Armstead last year was having a pretty big impact before he injured his hand.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You had again, Trayvon Walker battling through multiple injuries up front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devon Hamilton obviously is more of a run stuffer.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you could say the same thing about Albert Regis for they brought in with a third ground pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would venture to guess they believe Regis can be a good bit more than that based on his athletic ability and the draft slot that they utilized to bring him in I think that they think he can probably do more than that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A couple big questions really like, do you get a big step forward from a Danny Strigo, a BJ Green?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do you get a big step forward from a Rook or

  [SPEAKER_00]: Green and Strigo show that in Jacksonville last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Rook did enough to flash as a task rush or last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you decide maybe you can get something there, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Wesley Williams is somebody who flashed a lot of pass rush at the East West Rumble as an interior Russia.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Either lining up over tackle or in the B-gap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you start and see all these things and then Dennis Gardek is obviously someone who can impact the passer as well as a pseudo sand, like whatever you want to call it, you kind of play Sam, you kind of play his edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, it's kind of a hybrid position, and then you also went and got, uh, zactor for as well, who productive year out of ad at Washington, had dealt with some injuries throughout his collegiate career probably could have had more buzz on him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, injuries happen, but unbelievable athlete as well as a past Russia.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then Jalen McCloud is somebody that I think you look at.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He had to miss pretty much his entire rookie year start a practice in a little bit at the end, but didn't get to play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The question marks that I don't have any question about Josh Hines Allen about Trayvon Walker, about their ability to impact the quarterback, and I have very little question that I think the Jaguar's corners are going to be able to play better with Travis Hunter out there, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Eric Horms said can do a better job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: uh, then he did down the stretch, but again, he was playing injured.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think when he was playing healthy, he played very well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think if you can, this defense could do everything you could ask for it to do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I also just think when you have an elite run defense, which the Jaguar is absolutely should still have an elite run defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think they need the defense to be great.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you would like to have the ability to enter a game against a big team in a big time moment in the playoffs and say, can our defense perform great this game, even though we're playing against a Josh Allen or a Patrick Mahomes or whoever it is?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You probably need it at some point in the playoffs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we're going to be trying to find out here is do you have enough past rush steps?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because yeah, you love having Joshines Allen and Trablem Walker, and yes, they're getting paid a lot of money, but ultimately, it can't just be two guys, unless you're talking about, like, if you had Michael Parsons and Miles Garrett on the same team or something like that, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then it can probably be two guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But in a realistic world where you don't have

  [SPEAKER_00]: like first ballot Hall of Fame guys, multiple guys like that on your on your defensive front, which you can get into a debate about that if you want to.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think either Josh Hinds Allen or Trayvon Walker or on track to be first ballot Hall of Famers, they could certainly change that over the next several years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they have the talent to be Hall of Fame level players, but I don't think anybody's looking at them at this point, but that's kind of a side tangent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the question.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna find out over the next several months what the Jaguar is thinking about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because, yeah, there's potential for moves to be made.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like the free agent covered is completely bare at edge or defensive tackle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like there's no ability to potentially make a trade, which we know James Gladstone is not afraid to make a trade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he sees the need to do that, Zach Siler, Zach Siler is somebody we've talked about a lot on the channel, because the dolphins potentially be willing to move on from him, he's up there in years, all that stuff, and the Jaguar has a connection with him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's an Ecamp and you lay haven't coached in Miami.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That that didn't like seeing that, but happy for him and happy for, you know, everybody involved there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then, for Agent Market-wise, you've got guys that have connections to this staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go that direction and get a good run to Fender and pass rush or I love Dequan Jones, he's up there in age, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there's other guys out there that have a connection to the staff or just regardless of having a connection, I think could potentially be an upgrade to where you could say maybe.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like right now, when you talk about Edge 3, you've got 200 after free agents from last year, a late round pick from this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I like the guys, you could say you could use an edge three, and when I say late round pick, obviously Wesley Williams is there as well, fourth round pick, that's a mid round pick and then Zactor if he's a late round pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, when you, when you look at interior achievements of line, I think that you're probably not going to make a move there if I had to guess.

  [SPEAKER_00]: because you trade it for a rook, you've got Eric, you drafted Regis, you've got Demon Hamilton, are you gonna make another move?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be mad if they did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think they're going to find out a lot about what they think about Rukaroro, what they think about Wesley Williams role can be, did Strig out in green, who are guys that fought tooth and nail to make the roster last year, have they taken another step forward.
