- 0:00Romans chapter 14, you have a discussion through inspiration.
- 0:06That Paul provides to us about issues that are matters of
- 0:11opinion, whether to eat certain things, refrain from eating
- 0:15certain things, whether to honor certain days or not honor
- 0:19certain days, there's nothing that is discussed in.
- 0:21Romans 14. That is a matter of doctrine
- 0:26that is irrefutable, or Or a condition of fellowship or a
- 0:32condition of being in right standing with the Lord.
- 0:36And so, in the middle of that discussion and verse 7, Paul
- 0:42says, for none of us live lives to himself.
- 0:45No man dies to himself in the in the immediate context for that
- 0:49passage is found. I believe what is being
- 0:51discussed. There is the fact that we don't
- 0:54live on this Earth randomly and independently, we live on this
- 0:57Earth because God put us here and when we leave this earth
- 1:01will return in some form or fashion.
- 1:03Whether that is to hear depart for me or whether that is to
- 1:06hear, well done, but we return to God, ultimately.
- 1:10We're here because of him and ultimately will return to him in
- 1:15some form or fashion. And so we don't live to
- 1:18ourselves. We don't diet or seven other
- 1:19words. We're not the the captain of
- 1:21your own ship, the the ruler of our own destiny, but in the
- 1:26broader context, if you've got a translation that has sub
- 1:30headings or gives you a brief description of what's going on,
- 1:35that particular passage by the translation that I'm reading
- 1:37from this morning has above Romans.
- 1:40Chapter 14 Christian influence. And so, the ways that we
- 1:46interact with each other, of course, there are things that as
- 1:49Christians. We cannot compromise of that
- 1:52make us who we are as followers of Christ, and they are pillars
- 1:56of our foundation and they cannot be a compromise any shape
- 2:00form or fashion, but that's not not, what is being discussed in?
- 2:03Romans 14. These are matters of personal
- 2:06opinion, personal conviction. Not matters of Doctrine.
- 2:10And so, what, I believe Paul is trying to say when you read the
- 2:13chapter and it's LT is. Let's Be Careful in how we
- 2:17impose our will or influence on one another.
- 2:21Let's not be a stumbling block to one another and at the same
- 2:24time. Let's not try to impose our will
- 2:26on someone when we're dealing with something that is a matter
- 2:31of opinion, as you will know, in Matthew Chapter 5, beginning in
- 2:34verse 13 immediately preceding. The what would maybe call the
- 2:39introduction to The Sermon on the Mount and that is the
- 2:42listing of the Beatitudes. You have the Man, that Jesus
- 2:45gives us to be both Salt and Light.
- 2:50And if you consider the Beatitudes introduction and you
- 2:53can consider verses 13 through 16 point number one of that
- 2:57masterful sermon from the master teacher.
- 3:00So Point number one, for those of you that are going to follow
- 3:02me be Salt and Light in other words, be people of influence,
- 3:10both Salt and Light influence. What they touch, don't they but
- 3:16here's something that we need to consider.
- 3:18There's a sweet spot. For both of those things, is
- 3:21there not. Is it possible to have too much
- 3:25salt? Is it possible to have too much
- 3:28light? We'll try staring directly into
- 3:31the Sun for more than about three seconds and you'll learn
- 3:34real fast that it's possible to be exposed to too much light.
- 3:38So there's a sweet spot for both of those things.
- 3:42We know when they're present. We know when they're absent, but
- 3:46we know also when we have too much or too little, don't we?
- 3:50And so there's that sweet spot for salt where it gives us this
- 3:55wonderful influence. And it's not to diminished.
- 3:59It's not too, overpowering is just right.
- 4:03And when it comes to our Christian influence, we need to
- 4:07be looking for that sweet spot where our influence is the most
- 4:11beneficial, where it's the most positive to the person or the
- 4:16people that we are trying to influence in a positive way.
- 4:20So, I believe, part of what Paul is saying, in Romans 14 is don't
- 4:24just try to impose, your, will your Our feelings exert your
- 4:28influence on someone. When it in that particular
- 4:32context with that particular thing.
- 4:33It's not necessary. At the same time.
- 4:38We also want to be influencing in ways that God wants us to
- 4:42influence. So he wants as we know when we
- 4:44need, just that right? Amount of light.
- 4:45If there's something that you need to read.
- 4:47You need a certain amount of light in that room where you're
- 4:49trying to read to be able to read there.
- 4:51Such a thing as having not enough light.
- 4:53There's such a thing as having too much.
- 4:56And so what the Lord is calling on us to do, is to be people of
- 5:00influence. Absolutely.
- 5:02But to exert that influence in the best way possible.
- 5:07So that the person that we're trying to be salt to the person
- 5:12that we're trying to be light for that.
- 5:14We're doing it in such a way that what is the ultimate
- 5:16objective of both of those exercises who is being glorified
- 5:22by the effort that we're putting in, Let your light so shine
- 5:26before men that they may see your good works.
- 5:28And so your father may be glorified in heaven.
- 5:32So the ultimate objective is so that God may be glorified so
- 5:38that his kingdom might be expanded.
- 5:41So we're trying to use our influence that we have as
- 5:44Christians. This command this instruction
- 5:46that were given to be both salt and light to use it in such a
- 5:50way where it is, beneficial, beneficial to the person that
- 5:53we're trying to influence and Not detrimental that were
- 5:56drawing them closer to Christ, not pushing them farther away.
- 6:02And man. That's a hard Balancing Act to
- 6:06find. Is it, I think it's a challenge
- 6:09for each and every one of us to find that that sweet spot, where
- 6:13where the right amount of salt where we're the right amount of
- 6:16light so that God is being glorified and he is being
- 6:20benefited by the efforts that we are putting in one thing I want.
- 6:24To consider this morning is the fact that we all have influence
- 6:28and we exert it every day to everybody that we interact with
- 6:33whether we're consciously aware of it at the time or not.
- 6:38You are affecting people in either a positive or negative
- 6:41way, by the way that you interact with them each and
- 6:43every day. We all are exerting a certain
- 6:46level of influence, you know, then we experience that with our
- 6:50families almost every day. How many of you who are married
- 6:56you wake up in a certain mood. And quickly after interacting
- 7:00with your spouse, you find yourself in a different mood and
- 7:05that can happen. Either way, right?
- 7:07You can wake up on the wrong side of the bed and your spouse
- 7:10can help you with a little attitude adjustment, you know,
- 7:15feel better and look better and do better and be nicer.
- 7:21But don't we have? And I think this happens more
- 7:24often this end of it, where maybe our spouse wakes up.
- 7:29Right side of the bed. We wake up on the wrong side of
- 7:31bed. And before we know it, we've
- 7:32dragged him over to the wrong side of the bed with us.
- 7:36Are our moods are contagious. Our attitudes are contagious.
- 7:42We're even having effects on people at times and we have no
- 7:45idea that we are yesterday, Benjamin about the Wetumpka post
- 7:50office and the line began for those of you that are familiar
- 7:54with, we took a post office, the line began in between the two
- 7:58glass doors. So that's where the line began.
- 8:02And so, in that situation, you can do one of two things.
- 8:07You can either express your aggravation and your outrage at
- 8:12the fact that a bunch of other people had the exact idea you
- 8:16had at the time, you know, it's always how dare they have the
- 8:20exact idea that I had at this point in time to come to the
- 8:23post office, right now, and Saturday morning.
- 8:25Is that what we tend to do? I cannot believe the traffic on
- 8:29the road. Well, aren't we part of the
- 8:30traffic on the road? I can't believe how many people
- 8:32are in. This store.
- 8:33Will. We're one of the people in the
- 8:34store. I can't believe everybody chose.
- 8:36Just restaurant on this particular occasion where one of
- 8:38the ones that shows the restaurant, it's always
- 8:40everybody else's fault. And so you have a decision to
- 8:44make and when you're in the line, your body language, you
- 8:49don't have to be saying anything, your body language can
- 8:51affect the mood of everybody behind you.
- 8:54And so the lady that was directly in front of me who I
- 8:57met in between those two glass doors.
- 8:59She was not blaming everyone else.
- 9:02She blamed herself. She says, this is what I get for
- 9:06choosing to deliver or mail. These two packages this late in
- 9:10the month, and she just, I could see the Smile through her mask.
- 9:13I could just tell she was not bothered by the situation.
- 9:17And so I fed off that and I decided, you know what, I'm
- 9:21going to make the best of this situation to.
- 9:23Okay, so the line proceeds and about 10 minutes later.
- 9:27We're maybe three or four from the front, and she she does not
- 9:29have earbuds in. She has nothing.
- 9:31That is providing. I believe the music that caused
- 9:35her to just kind of start dancing with her packages and
- 9:38you I'm standing behind her and she's just, I think she's
- 9:41singing have you. Self A Merry Little Christmas
- 9:43and there's no music playing in the post office.
- 9:46She's got no ear buds in. She's just at here.
- 9:50I am telling you this 24 hours later.
- 9:53I fed off that. And I was able then to benefit
- 10:00from the influence that she was having on me.
- 10:04She didn't say but just a few words.
- 10:07I didn't know who she was personally, but I fed off that
- 10:11just the body language just her disposition.
- 10:14Just the way that she was handling that situation.
- 10:18Many of you know that my daughter Brooke is a manager at
- 10:22a Chick-fil-A and every time we see her, if it's been a while.
- 10:25She has a list of stories to tell us about customer
- 10:28interactions. You would think everybody would
- 10:31be happy to be at Chick-fil-A Jeremy.
- 10:33I mean, you're about to get the Lord's chicken and, and it's
- 10:38going to be a wonderful occasion.
- 10:40You're going to get treated nicely.
- 10:42There should be no reason for anybody to be unhappy at
- 10:46Chick-fil-A, but I can tell you based on what I'm hearing for a
- 10:50first-hand experience. There are a lot of unhappy
- 10:52grouchy, people going to get their food at Chick-fil-A.
- 10:57And me, and she has told us some stories.
- 10:59I mean, are you kidding me? As so, her her mood is being
- 11:03affected all day, every day, when she's at Chick-fil-A,
- 11:06either positively or negatively based on the interaction that
- 11:09she having with the customer at the time.
- 11:11She told me one story where this person is just laying into her
- 11:16and anybody else within earshot about something that wasn't
- 11:19going, according to their expectations, for that
- 11:22particular experience. And there was one of the regular
- 11:25customers that was next in line. The, she knew and she always had
- 11:28a pleasant exchange, and he just kind of had a little smile on
- 11:31his face. While this person is just, I
- 11:34mean, showing themselves for anybody and everybody who's
- 11:37present, and he just got a little smile on his face, and he
- 11:40just kind of watching him and he comes up to her immediately
- 11:43after and has something encouraging to say about the
- 11:49job, they're doing. And and so immediately, she was
- 11:52able to, you know, get that bad experience, out of her mind and
- 11:56and get it lifted up again by here's here's someone who's
- 12:00acting like a decent human being and every day.
- 12:04We as Christians have the not just opportunity, but we have
- 12:10the responsibility to be Salt and Light.
- 12:15That is exerting a positive influence on.
- 12:17The people that it we're interacting with on a daily
- 12:21basis. We can never lose our influence.
- 12:25We're going to have it. I think the broader application
- 12:28going back to Romans chapter 14 and verse 7, the broader
- 12:31application. No man lives himself.
- 12:33And no man, dieth to himself. We talked about the immediate
- 12:35context and the application but the broader application is is we
- 12:40have this level of influence whether we want it or not.
- 12:45There have been athletes before, who have said.
- 12:47I'm not a role model. Now, you're a role model whether
- 12:50you want to be or not. We have influence that we can
- 12:55exert on our fellow man, whether we want to have it or not.
- 12:59So influence doesn't go away but influence can change through
- 13:04carelessness. We can we can ruin our influence
- 13:08on our fellow, man, but through care fullness.
- 13:12We can restore our influence and be a wonderful example of Salt
- 13:17and Light in our homes, in our workplaces, in our communities,
- 13:21this time of Here most of us probably washed watch one or
- 13:25multiple versions of A Christmas Carol.
- 13:28There's probably being 40 different film renderings of
- 13:31that Charles Dickens story. Why does it resonate with us?
- 13:35Why do we watch that? Same story?
- 13:38We know exactly what's going to happen with the with the three
- 13:40ghosts and and how he is before and how he is after, when we
- 13:45whatever version we're watching at the very end, especially if
- 13:48it's done. Well, by the person portraying
- 13:50Ebenezer Scrooge, don't we just Want to hang out with him.
- 13:53We wanted nothing to do with him for 95% of that film.
- 13:59But he goes through such a remarkable transformation that I
- 14:04find myself. And one of the last things you
- 14:07know when crash it comes back to work the next day and you know,
- 14:11everybody's are acts like he's going to be as typical old
- 14:14grouchy self and you know turns the tables on him and one of the
- 14:18last things he says is will talk about your raise this afternoon
- 14:23over a Christmas Bowl. I don't know what a Christmas
- 14:25bowl is, but I always think those of I want some of that.
- 14:29And I want to have some of that with you have been these are--,
- 14:32the guy that I wanted nothing to do with for, for the first hour
- 14:36and a half of this film. But men now I just want to hang
- 14:38out with you. I want to have a Christmas bowl
- 14:40with you. I want to go to your nephews
- 14:42house with you. I want to walk down the sidewalk
- 14:45with you. Because of the transformation
- 14:49and the change in his influence, the Lord calls on us as
- 14:54Christians to what, Romans 12:1 to not be conformed to the
- 14:58world, but to be transformed. To be different to be better
- 15:05than what the world has to offer.
- 15:07You may have heard. I think it's a famous Gospel
- 15:10quartet song called the baptism of Jesse Taylor.
- 15:14Let me just read the lyrics for you quickly this morning because
- 15:18it it gives us another picture of a transformation.
- 15:23That occurs among the local taverns, they'll be as slack in
- 15:28business because Jesse is drink and came before the groceries
- 15:32and the rent. Among the local women.
- 15:34They'll be a slack and cheating because Jesse won't be stepping
- 15:38out. Again.
- 15:39The scars on Jesse's knuckles were more than just respected.
- 15:43The county courthouse. Records tell all there is to
- 15:45tell the pockets of the gamblers will soon.
- 15:48Miss Jessie's money and the black eye of the law will soon
- 15:52be well. For now, on Nancy, Taylor can
- 15:56proudly speak to neighbors. Tell how much Jesse took up with
- 15:59little Jim. Now, Jimmy's got a daddy and
- 16:02Jesse's got a family and Franklin counties.
- 16:05Got a lot more, man. The chorus goes.
- 16:08They baptized Jesse Taylor and Cedar Creek last Sunday.
- 16:12Jesus gained a soul and Satan lost a good.
- 16:15Right arm. They all cried.
- 16:16Hallelujah, is Jesse's head went under because the time he went,
- 16:20because this time he went under for the Lord.
- 16:25This is just an example of fictional song, Maybe it's based
- 16:28on a real person. I don't know of the
- 16:31transformation that we can experience, as followers of
- 16:36Jesus Christ. And the fact that we can go from
- 16:39being someone with a bad reputation that exerted a very
- 16:42negative influence on everybody. We saw, we can transform that
- 16:45into someone who everybody wants to see.
- 16:49I know you've heard the saying before we all.
- 16:53We all every one of us. Light up a room.
- 16:57Sometimes we light up a room. When we enter.
- 17:00Sometimes we light up the room when we exit.
- 17:03We're lighting up the room, one way or the other.
- 17:06And it's up to us to determine which at which point in time of
- 17:10the visit. We're lighting up the room when
- 17:12we arrived or when we leave. Our influence lives on after we
- 17:18die, Hebrews 11:4, Abel's. The first hero of Faith
- 17:22mentioned in that great chapter and remember and talking about
- 17:26the fact that he offered his Sacrifice by faith and that God,
- 17:30Justified him through this sacrifice.
- 17:32And at the end of verse 4, it says though, he being dead yet.
- 17:36He still speaks at least 4,000 years, had passed between that
- 17:41sacrifice that Abel had offered in the Hebrew writer, their
- 17:44inspiration writing about it. Now another 2,000 years have
- 17:47passed 6,000 years, at least since April offered that
- 17:50sacrifice, but though he being dead yet.
- 17:53He still speaks in 2020 because of the influence that he was our
- 18:00influence follows us, even after we die.
- 18:03The things that we say, the advice that we give the example
- 18:07that we set those things, stay with us.
- 18:10I know you've got things that you heard, your parents say that
- 18:14you heard your And parents say I use the word blooming about 15
- 18:22times a day in all kinds of contexts.
- 18:26I don't know the origin of that word.
- 18:28Like I might just say to Wendy. I just stubbed my toe on the end
- 18:31of the blooming bed. You know why I say, blooming 10
- 18:35to 15 times a day. That's what my granddad said.
- 18:37And it just stuck with me when he was angry.
- 18:41Whatever. That was.
- 18:41He was angry about was blooming. What a positive spin.
- 18:45And to put on something that you're blooming is normally
- 18:48really good thing. So I guess it puts a positive
- 18:50spin on, you know, knocking your toe against the end of the bed,
- 18:54but we have these examples in our life of people who have
- 18:59influenced us either positively or negatively, and many of us,
- 19:04probably, all of us are still reaping.
- 19:06The benefits from some positive influences of those who have
- 19:11already gone on to be with the Lord.
- 19:13This is one of your classic three points in a poem.
- 19:16Lesson this morning. So let me just share one poem
- 19:19with you. The illustrates the influence
- 19:22that we can have on people long after we've left.
- 19:25This poem is titled the bridge builder, an old man going alone.
- 19:30Highway came to a Chasm deep in Gray.
- 19:33The old man crossed into Twilight.
- 19:35Dim. The Sullen stream had no fear
- 19:38for him. But he turned when safe on the
- 19:42other side and built a bridge to span the tide old man, said a
- 19:46fellow Pilgrim near you were wasting your strength with
- 19:49building here. Your journey will end with a
- 19:51close of the day. You never again will pass this
- 19:54way. You've crossed the chasm deep
- 19:56and wide. Why build this bridge at evening
- 19:58tide? The Builder.
- 20:00Lifted his old gray head, good friend and the path.
- 20:04I have come. He said there follows after me
- 20:07today, a youth, whose feet must pass this way.
- 20:10This Has them that has been as not to me to that fair-haired
- 20:14youth May a pitfall be. So too, must cross in the
- 20:17Twilight. Damn, good friend.
- 20:19I'm building this bridge for him.
- 20:23We do indeed have influence that affects people now and has the
- 20:29ability to affect people that love us and we love long after
- 20:35our days in this life are gone. How are some of the ways that we
- 20:42influence one? Another?
- 20:45First Timothy chapter 4, and verse 12, Paul says to Timothy
- 20:48let no man despise your youth, be an example to the Believers
- 20:51in word and conduct and love and spirit and faith in Purity.
- 20:54Why, why is Paul telling Timothy to do these things?
- 20:57Because he realizes that Timothy, as we all do have this
- 21:00power to influence. And so Paul is saying recognize,
- 21:04your ability to influence and use that ability to influence
- 21:09people in a positive way in one of the ways that we can
- 21:12influence people either positively or negatively.
- 21:15Especially those people who are closest to us is with the words
- 21:19that we use Ephesians 4 verse 29, let no corrupt communication
- 21:24proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use
- 21:26of edifying. That it may Minister grace to
- 21:30the hearers. We have such power in the words
- 21:35that we use, you. Probably remember more acutely,
- 21:40the times that someone wounded, you with words in your past,
- 21:46then when you were wounded in some physical form or fashion.
- 21:51Words can have a lasting negative effect.
- 21:55They can have a lasting positive effect.
- 21:57So these words that have great powerless, utilize these words
- 22:01and such a way that we're using them.
- 22:04What does Paul say again for the use of edifying that it may
- 22:08Minister grace to the hearers Colossians 4:6?
- 22:11Let your speech be always with Grace seasoned with salt so that
- 22:14you may know who you how you met ought to answer every man.
- 22:17So what is a Christian being told to do, taste your words?
- 22:21Before you speak them. What do most people do in the
- 22:26world? They don't taste test their
- 22:30words at all. Before they come out, you
- 22:32experienced that in the workplace.
- 22:33You experience that people that you interact with on a daily
- 22:36basis. So many people just let whatever
- 22:39fly out with without taking one second to taste those words,
- 22:43too. Ensure that they are palatable
- 22:46for the hearer. And so God is calling on us to
- 22:51be careful with our words because they are influential
- 22:55either for good or for bad. I used a phrase that I that I
- 23:01heard and learned one time that has come back to haunt me over
- 23:05and over again, in my communication, particularly with
- 23:10my family. There's one occasion where they
- 23:13think someone that lives in my home will change names to
- 23:17protect. The innocent will just All are
- 23:19mending, nesser. She said something along the
- 23:23lines of you're making me mad or making me angry.
- 23:27And I had recently learned this phrase only you can make you
- 23:31angry. Has that phrase ever come back
- 23:36on me. Every time I have ever said to
- 23:42this person. You're about to make me angry.
- 23:45Yeah, I'll sometimes I'll use the whole if you were like me
- 23:49and watch The Incredible Hulk, when you were a kid and, you
- 23:51know, the little intro to The Incredible Hulk was the scene
- 23:54where Bruce Banner says, don't make me angry.
- 23:56You won't like me when I'm angry.
- 23:58And so I, you know, I'll say to any of your making me mad.
- 24:01You make it and shook only you can make you angry, man.
- 24:06I wish I had never learned that phrase in used it because then
- 24:10what can you do? What can you do?
- 24:13Well, I'll say, okay, you know, maybe you cannot, maybe only I
- 24:17can make me angry, but if I ever get an award for being angry, I
- 24:22get called on the stage to receive that award.
- 24:24I will list you at the top of the people to think.
- 24:27Thank you for helping me. Thank you for helping me be this
- 24:31angry today and receiving this award for my anger.
- 24:35Our words can have great influence either, for good or
- 24:39for bad. I warned her that she was going
- 24:41to get called out this morning. So hopefully I'll get my
- 24:44hamburger steak. Anyway, she's watching from
- 24:47home, but hopefully I'll be okay in our manner of life.
- 24:51We have great influence Philippians 1:27.
- 24:54Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ so that
- 24:57whether I come and see you or I'm absent, I may hear of your
- 25:00Affairs that you stand fast and one spirit with one mind
- 25:03striving together for the Faith of the Gospel.
- 25:07We have an individual influence. We have a collective influence
- 25:10as the church that meets your Wetumpka.
- 25:13And so there's so much that we can do to influence our
- 25:15community positively collectively.
- 25:19There's much that we can do to influence our community
- 25:22individually. May we not lose sight of the
- 25:25influence that we have and by our conduct, not just by the
- 25:30words that we speak. But our manner of life, our
- 25:32disposition The Way We Carry ourselves, just going back.
- 25:35That woman in the post office. Just she had a song in her head.
- 25:40It was a positive influence to those around her without even
- 25:44saying a word in our conduct on a daily basis.
- 25:48We can exert great influence by the love that we have for our
- 25:53fellow, man. John 13 and verse. 35, Jesus
- 25:57says to his Apostles by, this shall all.
- 25:59Men know that you are my disciples.
- 26:01If you have love one for another, I'm sure you've heard a
- 26:05thousand times. People don't care what, you
- 26:06know, until they know how much you care.
- 26:08And Jesus said, what is going to draw people to you to make them
- 26:12interested in hearing what you have to say is to see the love
- 26:16that you have for one another. The ways that you love with
- 26:20thats how people are going to know that you're my disciples.
- 26:23That's going to be the stamp that's going to be the sign.
- 26:27Is the love that you have for one another, the Lord is calling
- 26:32on us, Matthew chapter, 22, and verse 37 to love him, with all
- 26:36of our heart, our soul, our mind, our strength.
- 26:42We are to invest in God with everything that we have and by
- 26:48doing. So the invest in our fellow man
- 26:52by exerting this positive influence.
- 26:56Let me close this morning with one more, tiny little poem.
- 27:02You are writing a gospel a chapter each day by the Deeds
- 27:06that you do. And the words that you say me
- 27:09and read what you write, whether faulty or true say, what is The
- 27:13Gospel? According to you?
- 27:16I know you've heard before the phrase.
- 27:17You may be the only gospel, that someone hears.
- 27:21So we have this ability to influence.
- 27:24And as a very powerful ability that we have to use either for
- 27:31good or for evil. How are we exerting our
- 27:35influence this morning as children of God as brothers and
- 27:40sisters. Jesus Christ as submitting to
- 27:45him as our Lord and savior. Are we allowing the example that
- 27:48he set for us? To control our day-to-day life.
- 27:52In the ways that we're interacting with our fellow,
- 27:54man, the words that we say, our disposition our conduct did
- 27:58those things mirror, what God has called on us to have being
- 28:03that perfect amount of salt, being that right amount of light
- 28:08so that we are influencing those around us in a way that brings
- 28:12them closer to Jesus Christ, if they already have a relationship
- 28:17with him, but brings them closer to a desire for relationship
- 28:22with Jesus Christ. If they don't have one with him
- 28:25yet, may we be people of great influence.
- 28:29If you are a child of God this morning, but you need
- 28:34encouragement. You need prayer.
- 28:37Let's pray within for you right now.
- 28:38If you're not a child of God, but you want to become one by
- 28:41faith. Repenting of your sins,
- 28:43confessing Jesus Christ is Lord. Baptized into Christ for the
- 28:47remission of your sins. Maybe you've heard a thousand
- 28:50times. What you need to do, but for
- 28:52some reason, you've not acted on that knowledge.
- 28:57Don't wait, another moment. We'd love to add a brother or
- 29:00sister to the kingdom, this very morning if we can help you or
- 29:04pray within for you, please come as Together, We Stand and sing.
