I remember watching a tv show about a group of hikers on a trail a few years back. There was one guy who had a pack that looked like it belonged on a mule. It was oversized, overstuffed, and he was leaning forward just to keep from tipping over. Every few hundred yards, he’d stop, gasp for air, and shift the straps. He was exhausted, not because the trail was too steep, but because he was carrying things he didn't actually need for the trip.
