Statehood for DC & Puerto Rico? Full-Blown Political Brawl on Gerrymandering & U.S. Takes Aim at Cuban Strongman Week In Review · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

• 0:00
Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz week in Review,
• 0:03
Speaker 1: and these are the stories that you may have missed
• 0:05
Speaker 1: that we talked about this week. First up, Democrats move
• 0:08
Speaker 1: to totally change America. This time they want to add
• 0:12
Speaker 1: four new US senators so they gain control of the Senate.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: Where do they want to do it and how do
• 0:17
Speaker 1: they get to this idea? We explain it. Next up,
• 0:19
Speaker 1: Democrats are furious that Republicans are fighting back after their
• 0:23
Speaker 1: decades of jerrymandering and their argument it's always about race.
• 0:26
Speaker 1: We explain that. And finally, an indictment in Cuba with
• 0:31
Speaker 1: someone with the last name Castro. It took almost thirty
• 0:35
Speaker 1: years to get it to happen. The details behind that
• 0:38
Speaker 1: as well. It's the weekend Review and it starts right now.
• 0:41
Speaker 1: I think that especially if people that listen to the
• 0:43
Speaker 1: show that are younger, they hear this argument on statehood.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: Democrats are really leaning into this. It's becoming an election
• 0:51
Speaker 1: year issue multiple times over now. And the argument that
• 0:55
Speaker 1: young people hear, and the one that they then make
• 0:58
Speaker 1: is well they're not being fairly represented. Puerto Rico, washing
• 1:02
Speaker 1: d C. Representation are our taxation with that representation? Why
• 1:07
Speaker 1: should we not make sure these people have a voice
• 1:10
Speaker 1: in Washington. D C explained to people listening now, how
• 1:14
Speaker 1: to defend against that argument that's being made by the left,
• 1:17
Speaker 1: because they are really pushing this on colleges and college
• 1:21
Speaker 1: students and young people in this country.
• 1:23
Speaker 2: Well, look, the Constitution explicitly created DC, and the framers
• 1:28
Speaker 2: of the Constitution wanted our nation's capital to be a
• 1:31
Speaker 2: federal district that was not part of any state. They
• 1:34
Speaker 2: didn't want any state to be favored because the Congress
• 1:37
Speaker 2: was there, because the President was there, and so they
• 1:39
Speaker 2: carved out the lines of the District of Columbia. Was
• 1:42
Speaker 2: originally carved out to be ten miles by ten miles,
• 1:45
Speaker 2: and then what ultimately happened is they gave the southern
• 1:47
Speaker 2: portion of it, everything south of the Potomac River, they
• 1:50
Speaker 2: gave to Virginia. So what used to be DC Arlington
• 1:54
Speaker 2: used to be part of DC, it was given to Virginia.
• 1:56
Speaker 2: So it's now that ten mile by ten mile diamond
• 1:59
Speaker 2: kind of chopped the bottom portion chopped off by the
• 2:02
Speaker 2: Potomac River. And the idea of the framers was quite
• 2:05
Speaker 2: clear that it was not fair if you had a
• 2:09
Speaker 2: state that had our capital, that state would have advantages
• 2:11
Speaker 2: that no other state had. The only reason Democrats want
• 2:16
  Speaker 2: d C to be a state is because d C
• 2:19
Speaker 2: would immediately become the most liberal state in the Union.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: It would make California and Illinois and New York look
• 2:25
Speaker 2: look conservative by comparison. They want two new Democrat senators,
• 2:31
Speaker 2: they want one new Democrat House member. They want to
• 2:35
Speaker 2: be radical and extreme because and notice it's not about
• 2:40
Speaker 2: any substance. Go back to Kamala's list. Is there a
• 2:43
Speaker 2: single policy she listed that impacts your life, That is
• 2:46
Speaker 2: about your job, that is about your kids, it is
• 2:48
Speaker 2: about your family. No, the only only focus is power.
• 2:53
Speaker 2: By the way, if DC if they were likely to
• 2:56
Speaker 2: vote Republican, you would see Democrats saying making DC a
• 3:01
Speaker 2: state is Jim Crow.
• 3:02
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 3:02
Speaker 2: Puerto Rico is actually a little more complicated. Because Puerto
• 3:05
Speaker 2: Rico has elected Republicans. The Democrats assume Puerto Rico will
• 3:09
Speaker 2: elect to Democrat senators.
• 3:12
Speaker 4: They might be right, but they might be wrong.
• 3:14
Speaker 2: If if Puerto Rico became a state, we would fight
• 3:17
Speaker 2: and vigorously contested. I don't know if we could prevail
• 3:19
Speaker 2: on that or not, but their assumption. Look, the Democrats,
• 3:23
Speaker 2: if there's one essential feature about them. They're racists. They
• 3:27
Speaker 2: believe all African Americans must be Democrats. That's why they
• 3:30
Speaker 2: hate Clarence Thomas because in their view, he's a trader
• 3:34
Speaker 2: to his race. They believe all Hispanics must be Democrats.
• 3:36
Speaker 2: That's why they hate me, because they think I'm a
• 3:38
Speaker 2: trader to my race. And so their view of Puerto
• 3:40
Speaker 2: Ricans is you must be Democrats because we, the Democrat Party,
• 3:44
Speaker 2: control you. I'm not sure that would play out, but look,
• 3:48
Speaker 2: Puerto Rico is a territory.
• 3:50
Speaker 4: It has a different history.
• 3:51
Speaker 2: And by the way, the people of Puerto Rico have
• 3:53
Speaker 2: long been divided on the question of whether to become
• 3:57
Speaker 2: a state or not. At various times in elections, they've
• 3:59
Speaker 2: had options of statehood, They've had options of independence. There's
• 4:03
Speaker 2: some in Puerto Rico that want to be a separate
• 4:04
Speaker 2: and independent nation. Then the third option, which is what
• 4:07
Speaker 2: they have now. They're a commonwealth. They get some of
• 4:10
Speaker 2: the benefits of American citizenship, but yet they're not fully
• 4:13
Speaker 2: a state, and the people of Puerto Rico have long
• 4:15
Speaker 2: disagreed on that. Democrats don't care about any of that.
• 4:19
Speaker 2: All they want is power. And I'll point to another instance.
• 4:22
Speaker 2: We've talked about Commlin nationwide, We've talked about Virginia and
• 4:28
Speaker 2: Governor Spanberger both gone wild, and then you look at
• 4:31
Speaker 2: Republican at California. So all right, here's the story in
• 4:35
Speaker 2: the New York Post Bay sixteenth, California sees massive surge
• 4:40
Speaker 2: in Republican votes as more than nine hundred thousand ballots
• 4:42
Speaker 2: already returned. Could the state of California actually be turning red?
• 4:47
  Speaker 4: Early?
• 4:48
Speaker 2: Voters in the Golden State have already returned more than
• 4:50
Speaker 2: nine hundred thousand ballots ahead of the June second primary,
• 4:54
Speaker 2: showing a massive surge in Republican votes compared to four
• 4:57
Speaker 2: years ago for the governor's race. On Saturday from the
• 5:00
Speaker 2: research firm Political Data PDI showed that out of nine
• 5:04
Speaker 2: hundred and five eight hundred and eighty nine ballots that
• 5:07
Speaker 2: have been returned, thirty seven percent were from Republicans, with
• 5:11
Speaker 2: Republican returns up eleven percent compared to the same stage
• 5:16
Speaker 2: of the twenty twenty two midterms, So Republican votes up
• 5:19
Speaker 2: eleven percent. More shocking is the fact that the data
• 5:23
Speaker 2: showed forty one percent of Democrats who over returned their ballots,
• 5:27
Speaker 2: down thirteen points from the same moment in the primary
• 5:30
Speaker 2: election four years ago. So Republicans up eleven percent, Democrats
• 5:34
Speaker 2: down thirteen percent. Now we all know because they tell
• 5:38
Speaker 2: us incessantly. Democrats are committed to democracy, and they beat
• 5:44
Speaker 2: their chest when they say it, and they get a
• 5:46
Speaker 2: little tear in the corner of their eye. It is
• 5:49
Speaker 2: democracy with a trademark on it. It is capital D democracy.
• 5:53
Speaker 2: And by democracy, what do they mean. They mean any
• 5:57
Speaker 2: decision making apparatus that elects Democrats.
• 6:00
Speaker 4: That's how they define democracy.
• 6:02
Speaker 2: If the voters vote for something they don't like, to
• 6:05
Speaker 2: hell with the voters. The Democrats want what they want.
• 6:07
Speaker 2: So Gavin Newsom, California has this really weird system of
• 6:12
Speaker 2: electing governors where you vote for their like sixty candidates
• 6:15
Speaker 2: on the ballt both Republicans and Democrats. They got rid
• 6:18
Speaker 2: of a primary, and the way it works, the top
• 6:22
Speaker 2: two candidate vote getters then go to a runoff. There
• 6:25
Speaker 2: are right now two strong Republicans who are in the
• 6:30
Speaker 2: top four, Steve Hilton and Chad Debanco. Those two could
• 6:35
Speaker 2: possibly end up one and two. If that happened, it
• 6:38
Speaker 2: would mean the runoff would have only Republicans. By the way,
• 6:41
Speaker 2: it was Democrats who designed this system because they wanted
• 6:44
Speaker 2: every election to feature just two Democrats. They wanted to
• 6:47
Speaker 2: ensure that there wasn't even a Republican on the general
• 6:49
Speaker 2: election ballot. They assumed they could take the top two
• 6:51
Speaker 2: seats and just clean close.
• 6:53
Speaker 1: Every time, Yeah, every time in this and then they'd
• 6:56
Speaker 1: never have to worry about a Republican winning again. You know.
• 6:58
Speaker 2: And it turns out when you do things like let
• 7:00
Speaker 2: your city burn to the ground, not fill in the water,
• 7:04
Speaker 2: let homeless people on the streets, let needles and robbery,
• 7:09
Speaker 2: and abuse the economic system so much, propose a wealth
• 7:13
Speaker 2: tax to confiscate people's wealth, destroy jobs, cause a massive
• 7:17
Speaker 2: exodus of people fleeing California. It turns out when you
• 7:19
Speaker 2: really really really screw up running the state or running
• 7:22
Speaker 2: say the city of Los Angeles, eventually people notice. And
• 7:27
Speaker 2: so here's Gavin news I want you to listen to
• 7:29
Speaker 2: Gavin Newsom talking about what would happen if Republicans win
• 7:34
Speaker 2: the top two spots in the election, if California voters
• 7:37
Speaker 2: choose to vote Republican.
• 7:38
Speaker 5: We all have agencies, we can shape the future. There's
• 7:41
Speaker 5: still a lot of Look, I've said this before, Saul repeated,
• 7:45
Speaker 5: I don't anticipate this need to be the case. But
• 7:48
Speaker 5: there is a break the glass scenario, and there's many
• 7:51
Speaker 5: people that have a deep understanding of what it would
• 7:54
Speaker 5: look like if Democrats were locked out, and we're going
• 7:57
Speaker 5: to do everything to make sure that doesn't happen.
• 7:59
Speaker 3: I'll leave with that.
• 8:00
Speaker 1: So, in other words, you're just going to rig elections?
• 8:02
Speaker 1: Is that basically the responsect I don't worry. This may
• 8:04
Speaker 1: happen once, but it'll never happen again.
• 8:06
Speaker 4: Senator, look what he called the break the glass scenario.
• 8:10
Speaker 4: Understand what he's saying to the voters.
• 8:12
Speaker 2: If you pesky voters vote Republican, and if the top
• 8:17
Speaker 2: two candidates that come into the runoff are both Republicans,
• 8:21
Speaker 2: he will quote break the glass. And I don't know
• 8:24
Speaker 2: what the heck that means. What throw one of the
• 8:26
Speaker 2: Republicans out of the election, cancel the election? I mean
• 8:29
Speaker 2: anything he's talking about. Do you know what you just witnessed?
• 8:33
Speaker 2: There a promise of an insurrection?
• 8:36
Speaker 4: That is in fact what I mean.
• 8:38
Speaker 1: It's a fair way of saying it. You're basically saying,
• 8:40
Speaker 1: even if you guys decided to go a different way,
• 8:42
Speaker 1: we won't let you.
• 8:42
Speaker 4: He said, we have the agencies.
• 8:44
Speaker 2: We have the power there will break the glass scenarios
• 8:47
Speaker 2: if Republicans win this. He's literally declaring war on the voters.
• 8:52
Speaker 2: He's saying, you voters have no say in the state,
• 8:55
Speaker 2: and if God forbid, from his perspective, you choose to
• 8:58
Speaker 2: vote for Republicans, you deny us power. We will use
• 9:02
Speaker 2: our power to crush the voters. This is Democrats gone wild.
• 9:06
Speaker 2: And look Gavin Newsom, Abigail Spamberger, Kamala Harris, they're all
• 9:11
Speaker 2: doing the same thing. They're freaking out, their panicky and
• 9:14
Speaker 2: they're saying, we got to keep changing the rules so
• 9:17
Speaker 2: that under no circumstances it possible that we lose. That's dangerous,
• 9:21
Speaker 2: it's cynical, it is explicitly it's common to put it
• 9:25
Speaker 2: on assault on the constitution and an assault on democracy.
• 9:29
Speaker 2: And this is where today's Democrats are.
• 9:31
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 9:31
Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
• 9:34
Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
• 9:36
Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, I
• 9:40
Speaker 1: want to move to some fireworks that took place today
• 9:43
Speaker 1: in the Senate Judiciary where they were talking you guys
• 9:47
Speaker 1: were talking about the issue of jerrymandering, and it got
• 9:50
Speaker 1: very heated between you and another senator walk us through that.
• 9:56
Speaker 2: Well, we had a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee
• 9:58
Speaker 2: on racial gerrymandering in the Supreme Court recent decision making
• 10:01
Speaker 2: clear that you cannot draw congressional lines discriminating based on race,
• 10:05
Speaker 2: and the Democrats have been losing their minds about this.
• 10:08
Speaker 2: They've been screaming that it's Jim crow U And Maizie Herono,
• 10:12
Speaker 2: the very very liberal Democrat from Hawaii, she spoke right
• 10:15
Speaker 2: before me, and she gave a whole speech about how
• 10:19
Speaker 2: Democrats or how Republicans are racist, how they they want
• 10:23
Speaker 2: to hurt minorities, and it was just it was a
• 10:27
Speaker 2: typically vicious, false slandering speech. I'll tell you I had
• 10:33
Speaker 2: a whole set of remarks prepared for me. I had
• 10:36
Speaker 2: a whole set of questions prepared for me. I did
• 10:38
Speaker 2: not ask a single one of the questions my team
• 10:40
Speaker 2: had prepared. What I did instead was just off the cuff.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: It was reacting to to Mazie Herono's comments. Give a
• 10:48
Speaker 2: listen and hear what I had to say.
• 10:53
  Speaker 4: Mister Chairman.
• 10:54
Speaker 2: Just a moment ago, our colleague, Senator Herono said, there's
• 10:56
Speaker 2: a lot more to say, and indeed she's right, and
• 11:01
Speaker 2: in fact, I want to go back to her comments.
• 11:03
Speaker 2: She began by saying, we have a long history of
• 11:05
Speaker 2: racial discrimination in this country. That's undoubtedly correct, and then
• 11:09
Speaker 2: she said, quote, we had poll taxes, we had literacy tests.
• 11:14
Speaker 2: We even had tests of how many jelly beans are
• 11:16
Speaker 2: in a jar. Mister Chamberlain, when Senator Herono says we
• 11:21
Speaker 2: had poll taxes, I want to ask you who we
• 11:25
Speaker 2: is and in particular, what party was it that implemented
• 11:29
Speaker 2: taxes in the South.
• 11:30
Speaker 3: And I don't want to necessarily speak in every single case,
• 11:33
Speaker 3: but I'm pretty confident it was mostly the Democrats.
• 11:35
Speaker 2: And what party was it that put literacy tests in
• 11:38
Speaker 2: place in the South?
• 11:39
Speaker 3: The same answer, mostly the Democrats.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: And what party was it that had tests like how
• 11:43
Speaker 2: many jelly beans are in a bottle?
• 11:44
  Speaker 3: The Democrats?
• 11:46
Speaker 2: Tell me what party were the founders of the Ku
• 11:50
  Speaker 2: Klux klaned from?
• 11:52
Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that was the Democrats.
• 11:54
Speaker 2: Indeed, in fact, Nathan Bedford Forrest, the founder of the clan,
• 11:57
Speaker 2: was a delegate to the eighteen sixty Democrat at national convention.
• 12:02
Speaker 2: What party wrote the Jim Crow laws in the South?
• 12:04
  Speaker 3: The Democrats.
• 12:07
Speaker 2: And so on this side of the isle were members
• 12:10
Speaker 2: of the Republican Party. Who was the first Republican President,
• 12:14
Speaker 2: Abraham Lincoln. The Republican Party was literally founded to oppose slavery.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: We came into existence because slavery was a grotesque evil.
• 12:25
Speaker 2: And it was President Lincoln, the first Republican President, who
• 12:28
Speaker 2: signed the Emancipation Proclamation, who won the Civil War, and
• 12:33
Speaker 2: that resulted in the freeing of the slaves and the
• 12:36
Speaker 2: passage of the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth Amendments. By the way,
• 12:41
Speaker 2: fast forward to the civil rights era. Bull Conner one
• 12:46
Speaker 2: of the most noxiously racist politicians.
• 12:49
Speaker 4: What party was he from?
• 12:51
Speaker 3: He was a Democrat.
• 12:52
Speaker 2: The Democrats for the entire history of their party have
• 12:56
Speaker 2: been a party based on racial discriminate. They affirmatively embrace it,
• 13:02
Speaker 2: they support it. Let me ask you, mister grime, is
• 13:05
Speaker 2: discrimination is discriminating based on race consistent with the United
• 13:09
Speaker 2: States Constitution? No, What does the fourteenth Amendment say about
• 13:15
Speaker 2: discrimination based on race?
• 13:17
  Speaker 5: It's prohibited.
• 13:19
Speaker 2: What does the fifteenth Amendment say about discriminating based on race,
• 13:22
Speaker 2: and in particular drawing congressional lines and explicitly discriminating based
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: on race?
• 13:28
  Speaker 3: It's prohibited?
• 13:29
Speaker 2: Now, the Democrats are fond of telling this story, that is,
• 13:34
Speaker 2: and I wish I could find a kinder way to
• 13:36
  Speaker 2: say it.
• 13:36
Speaker 4: A flat out lie that.
• 13:38
Speaker 2: Without discriminating based on race, that no African Americans will
• 13:43
Speaker 2: be elected and no Hispanics will be elected. Indeed, there
• 13:47
Speaker 2: was one fellow online who was a vocal left wing
• 13:51
Speaker 2: spokesperson who tweeted out, if I'm advising anybody to run
• 13:55
Speaker 2: for president, they sure as hell better have a solution
• 13:57
Speaker 2: to how you make sure that it's not another one
• 14:00
Speaker 2: hundred years before another black person can represent South Carolina.
• 14:06
  Speaker 4: So that's a typical Democrat.
• 14:08
Speaker 2: Statement that we cannot elect a black person in South
• 14:11
Speaker 2: Carolina without discriminating based on race. I want to ask you,
• 14:16
Speaker 2: mister Chamberlain, who is the junior Senator from South Carolina
• 14:20
  Speaker 2: right now?
• 14:21
Speaker 3: That would be Tim Scott.
• 14:22
Speaker 2: And all right, I'll tell you what I said online.
• 14:25
Speaker 2: I said, hey, groc who is Tim Scott? And why
• 14:29
Speaker 2: did Democrats think he isn't black? And by the way,
• 14:33
Speaker 2: was Tim Scott elected because of a gerrymander district drawn
• 14:37
Speaker 2: only to elect an African American?
• 14:39
Speaker 3: No, he won statewide.
• 14:40
Speaker 4: He won statewide, by the way.
• 14:44
Speaker 2: The Democrat position is you can only elect African Americans
• 14:47
Speaker 2: with a Gerrymander district. I will point out Burgess Owens,
• 14:50
Speaker 2: an African American, is elected the majority white district in
• 14:53
Speaker 2: the state of Utah.
• 14:53
  Speaker 4: He's a Republican.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: Byron Donald's another African American, is elected the majority white
• 14:58
  Speaker 2: district in Florida.
• 15:00
Speaker 4: He is a Republican.
• 15:01
Speaker 2: John James, another African American, is elected the majority white
• 15:04
  Speaker 2: district in Michigan.
• 15:06
Speaker 4: He is a Republican.
• 15:07
Speaker 2: And my own Congressman, Wesley Hunt, who represents me in
• 15:11
Speaker 2: the House of Representatives, he is elected in the majority
• 15:13
Speaker 2: white district. He is a Republican. And yet in the
• 15:16
Speaker 2: Democrats world, you're not black if you're not a liberal Democrat.
• 15:22
Speaker 2: There is an arrogance to African American voters. By the way,
• 15:26
Speaker 2: they also have that same arrogance to Hispanic voters. They say,
• 15:30
Speaker 2: you're not Hispanic if you're not a liberal Democrat.
• 15:34
Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you I am.
• 15:35
Speaker 2: Proud to be the first Hispanic ever elected to represent
• 15:38
Speaker 2: the state of Texas in the United States Senate.
• 15:42
  Speaker 4: And mister Chamberlain.
• 15:44
Speaker 2: In my election in Texas was I elected the gerrymander
• 15:47
Speaker 2: district that could only elect in Hispanic.
• 15:49
Speaker 3: No, you were elected statewide.
• 15:53
Speaker 2: Discrimination based on race is wrong. Final question. The Democrats
• 15:59
Speaker 2: are now clutch their pearls that seats drawn to elect
• 16:03
Speaker 2: liberal Democrats in the South are going to go away.
• 16:06
Speaker 4: You may get black Republicans instead.
• 16:08
Speaker 2: Indeed, in Tennessee, they're freaking out that a liberal white
• 16:11
Speaker 2: guy who's a Democrat is likely going to lose his
• 16:14
Speaker 2: seat to an African American woman who's a Republican, and
• 16:17
Speaker 2: they say that's horrible racial oppression. My final question is this,
• 16:23
Speaker 2: if you look nationwide, which party has egregiously abused jerrymandering
• 16:32
Speaker 2: for decades? Both parties are guilty of it, But who
• 16:35
Speaker 2: has been the worst offender? And in particular take New England,
• 16:39
Speaker 2: Take Massachusetts, Tate Connecticut, Take Rhode Island, Take Maine, take Vermont,
• 16:43
Speaker 2: take New Hampshire. How many Republicans are elected from all
• 16:47
Speaker 2: of New England in the House of Representatives.
• 16:49
Speaker 3: I think the answer to that is zero zero.
• 16:51
Speaker 2: They've drawn every district in a naked jerrymander, and yet
• 16:55
Speaker 2: they're very upset that their illegal pursuit of power has
• 16:59
Speaker 2: now been stopped by Supreme Court that is enforcing the
• 17:01
Speaker 2: Constitution and prohibiting the racial gerrymandering, discrimination.
• 17:05
Speaker 4: Their party is built on part of personal privilege.
• 17:11
Speaker 6: Sure, I feel personally aggrieved to sit here and to
• 17:17
Speaker 6: be lectured by my colleague from Texas. And this reminds
• 17:21
Speaker 6: me of the time when he was first elected to
• 17:24
Speaker 6: the Senate and the Judiciary Committee had a hearing on
• 17:28
Speaker 6: gun safety and he felt a need to lecture Dianne Feinstein,
• 17:32
Speaker 6: who was well a leader on gun safety legislation. And
• 17:35
Speaker 6: he took that opportunity to lecture Diane Feinstein about gun
• 17:40
Speaker 6: safety and her leadership on the issue, and she said
• 17:43
Speaker 6: to him something along the lines of I did not
• 17:45
Speaker 6: sit here on this committee for however many years she did,
• 17:49
Speaker 6: only to be lectured by you. And that is how
• 17:52
Speaker 6: I feel. So why don't you just stop lecturing the
• 17:54
Speaker 6: rest of us. Just because you think you are the
• 17:57
Speaker 6: smartest person in the world doesn't mean the rest of
• 17:59
Speaker 6: us agree to that.
• 18:00
Speaker 4: Okay, thanks you, Senator Herono.
• 18:03
Speaker 2: I knew Dianne Feinstein. I served with Dianne Feinstein, and
• 18:06
Speaker 2: you're not Diane Feinstein.
• 18:07
Speaker 1: Right center, Padilla, Senator, I just got one question for you.
• 18:11
Speaker 1: You're not a big morning person, So who made you
• 18:13
Speaker 1: mad this morning? And what did you eat because.
• 18:16
  Speaker 3: That was brilliant.
• 18:17
Speaker 2: Well, look, I couldn't stand seeing the Democrats being hypocritical
• 18:22
Speaker 2: and dishonest, and you know it was striking. Maisie Herono said,
• 18:25
Speaker 2: I'm offended. I'm offended that you said this. You know
• 18:29
Speaker 2: what she didn't do. She didn't dispute a single word
• 18:32
Speaker 2: I said, because every word I said was factual. She
• 18:34
Speaker 2: didn't dispute that her party has been viciously racist since
• 18:38
Speaker 2: the very beginning of that party, that it embraces Rachel
• 18:41
Speaker 2: jerrymandering like every word of substance. She just and this
• 18:44
Speaker 2: is a classic Democrat tactic. How dare you speak the truth?
• 18:48
Speaker 2: I'm offended by the truth. And obviously my reference at
• 18:51
Speaker 2: the end, I was quoting a Democrat. If you'll recall
• 18:54
Speaker 2: when George W. Bush or not George W. Bush, George H. W.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: Bush was running for president and he was running with
• 19:02
Speaker 2: Dan Quayle, and he was running against Michael Decaucus, and
• 19:06
Speaker 2: his running mate was Lloyd Benson. And Lloyd Benson was
• 19:08
Speaker 2: a Senator from Texas, and dan Quayle when he was
• 19:11
Speaker 2: nominated to be vice president, was a very young senator.
• 19:15
Speaker 2: I think he was forty one or forty two, and
• 19:17
Speaker 2: he did not have a ton of experience, and in
• 19:19
Speaker 2: the vice presidential debate between dan Quayle and Lloyd Benson,
• 19:24
Speaker 2: dan Quayle had had a riff that I suspect was
• 19:27
Speaker 2: prepared by his team where he said, look, I'm the
• 19:29
Speaker 2: same age that John Kennedy was when he became president,
• 19:33
Speaker 2: and it was I think they're line to say, gosh,
• 19:36
Speaker 2: I'm not inexperienced, because because Kennedy and I are the
• 19:38
Speaker 2: same age, and Lloyd Benson looked at him and said, Senator,
• 19:43
Speaker 2: I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine.
• 19:49
Speaker 2: I served with Jack Kennedy. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy,
• 19:55
Speaker 2: And that obviously was the riff I was using. For
• 19:59
Speaker 2: Mazie Dianne Feinstein my first year, we did have a
• 20:03
Speaker 2: fiery blow up over gun control because she was a
• 20:07
Speaker 2: big advocate of gun control. I am a big defender
• 20:10
Speaker 2: of the Second Amendment. And when I asked her a
• 20:13
Speaker 2: specific question about the constitutional basis for what she was proposing,
• 20:17
Speaker 2: she got very upset, and she much like Maisie Herono,
• 20:21
Speaker 2: she said, I am not a sixth grader, and she
• 20:24
Speaker 2: was horrified that I would actually ask her the constitutional
• 20:27
Speaker 2: basis for what she was trying to do. Mayzi does
• 20:31
Speaker 2: not have She could not refute a word I said,
• 20:36
Speaker 2: so instead she resorted to insult an emotional offense. And look,
• 20:43
Speaker 2: I think that's a fairly typical example of where the
• 20:46
Speaker 2: Democrats are. Truth and facts are not their strong points,
• 20:49
Speaker 2: and they're not going going to engage in them. Instead,
• 20:52
Speaker 2: they're going to try to engage in deception. And sadly,
• 20:55
Speaker 2: that was the entire Democrat theme in the entire hearing.
• 20:59
Speaker 1: As If you want to hear the rest of this
• 21:01
Speaker 1: conversation on this topic, you can go back and dow
• 21:04
Speaker 1: the podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
• 21:09
Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
• 21:11
Speaker 1: three of the week you may have missed. I want
• 21:13
Speaker 1: to move on to what we talked about in the
• 21:16
Speaker 1: last show has now become a reality, and that is
• 21:18
Speaker 1: Raoul Castro has been indicted. This is bringing lots of
• 21:24
Speaker 1: celebration to the Cuban community down in Florida, a lot
• 21:29
Speaker 1: of excitement also in Cuba because of this, and we've
• 21:33
Speaker 1: seen some of those videos have been able to get
• 21:35
Speaker 1: out of the country with limited access to the internet there.
• 21:38
Speaker 1: But this is a very big moment for justice. And
• 21:42
Speaker 1: now there couldn't be more of a stark difference between
• 21:46
Speaker 1: having a former president, Barack Obama that would sit down
• 21:49
Speaker 1: with this man who's now been accused of murder by
• 21:52
Speaker 1: the United States American and diided for that. He sat
• 21:54
Speaker 1: down with him in a baseball game, hung out with him.
• 21:57
Speaker 1: And now Donald Trump's like, no, no, no, we don't do
• 21:59
Speaker 1: that with bag guy. We don't negotiate with him. We
• 22:01
  Speaker 1: indict them.
• 22:03
Speaker 2: Well, forget the Cuban community in Florida. This Cuban American
• 22:08
Speaker 2: in Houston, Texas, in my laundry room, thankfully not surrounded
• 22:12
Speaker 2: by catcraft right now is celebrating because Raoul Castro has
• 22:17
Speaker 2: been indicted. Let me read from Fox News. Former Cuban
• 22:21
Speaker 2: president Raoul Castro has been indicted in connection to his
• 22:25
Speaker 2: alleged role in the nineteen ninety six downing of two
• 22:28
Speaker 2: planes operated by the Miami based exile group Brothers to
• 22:32
Speaker 2: the Rescue. The indictment, which of Florida Grand Juria returned
• 22:35
Speaker 2: in April, was concealed Wednesday. Acting US Attorney General Todd
• 22:39
Speaker 2: Blanche said during an announcement in Miami on Wednesday. It
• 22:43
Speaker 2: charges Castro with conspiracy to kill US nationals, destruction of aircraft,
• 22:50
Speaker 2: and four separate counts of murder. The indictment stems from
• 22:54
Speaker 2: a February nineteen ninety six indictment in which four Americans,
• 22:58
Speaker 2: Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandra Junior, Mario de la Pagna, and
• 23:04
Speaker 2: Pablo Morales, we're flying in civilian aircraft when Cuban military
• 23:08
Speaker 2: aircraft shot their planes down in international waters and killed them.
• 23:14
Speaker 2: The indictmental ledges, according to Blanche, quote, they were unarmed
• 23:18
Speaker 2: civilians and were flying humanitarian missions for the rescue and
• 23:22
Speaker 2: protection of people fleeing oppression across the Florida Straits. Blanche said,
• 23:29
Speaker 2: quote as alleged in the indictment, Raoul Castro and five
• 23:32
Speaker 2: co defendants participated in a conspiracy that ended with Cuban
• 23:35
Speaker 2: military aircraft firing missiles at those planes and killing four Americans.
• 23:41
Speaker 2: He continued, nations and their leaders cannot be permitted to
• 23:45
Speaker 2: target Americans, killed them and not face accountability. Blanche also said.
• 23:51
Speaker 2: Joining Blanche announcing the indictment were United States Attorney for
• 23:54
Speaker 2: the Southern District of Florida, Jason A. Reading Quinnons, Deputy
• 24:01
Speaker 2: FBI Director Christopherrea, and Florida Attorney General James U.
• 24:05
  Speaker 6: Timer.
• 24:06
Speaker 2: Look, Raul Castro, he's in his mid nineties. He is
• 24:13
Speaker 2: a murdering, torturous communist bastard. Look, if there's one thing,
• 24:19
Speaker 2: and let me say to the folks that listen to Verdict,
• 24:23
Speaker 2: you guys know me, if there's one thing about me,
• 24:26
Speaker 2: I genuinely and deeply and passionately loathe communists. Communism is
• 24:34
Speaker 2: the most evil ideology humanity has ever created. Communism has
• 24:39
Speaker 2: produced more murder, more torture, more imprisonment, more poverty, more
• 24:46
Speaker 2: misery than any ideology in the history of our planet.
• 24:52
Speaker 2: Fidel Castro was an evil monster. When Fidel Castro died,
• 24:58
  Speaker 2: I gave a floor.
• 24:59
  Speaker 4: Speech saying.
• 25:03
Speaker 2: How happy I was that Fidel Castro had moved to
• 25:09
Speaker 2: warmer climates. I believe Fidel Castro is burning in hell
• 25:16
Speaker 2: right now. His brother, Raoul was vicious, was responsible for
• 25:23
Speaker 2: much of the oppression in Cuba. He's no longer the president.
• 25:29
Speaker 2: He's now ninety four, and I am incredibly glad. I
• 25:32
Speaker 2: am gratified that the Trump Department of Justice has indicted
• 25:37
Speaker 2: him for murder. This is an evil man, and this
• 25:41
Speaker 2: may well set the predicate just like Nicholas Maduro for
• 25:46
Speaker 2: the United States going in to execute this arrest warrant
• 25:50
Speaker 2: to arrest him. And I get to say one of
• 25:53
  Speaker 2: the striking.
• 25:54
Speaker 1: By the way, I had to ask you this real quick.
• 25:56
Speaker 1: Do you think there's a decent probability that is actually
• 26:00
Speaker 1: what could happen here?
• 26:01
  Speaker 3: Fifty to fifty.
• 26:03
Speaker 2: Look, I think President Trump is going to ask the
• 26:06
Speaker 2: military how likely are we to succeed? It depends where
• 26:10
Speaker 2: Raul Castro is. Could you mount a military campaign to
• 26:14
Speaker 2: go in and get him. I don't know how Securrey
• 26:16
Speaker 2: he is. I have zero classified information on this, so
• 26:19
Speaker 2: I'm not revealing anything, but I don't think President Trump
• 26:24
Speaker 2: will order the operation if it is unlikely to succeed.
• 26:29
Speaker 2: So if Castro makes a stupid decision and goes somewhere
• 26:34
Speaker 2: where we could get him, I think there's a real
• 26:36
Speaker 2: chance we go arrest him. If he is hidden underground,
• 26:40
Speaker 2: either figuratively or literally, where we don't know where he is,
• 26:45
Speaker 2: that becomes more complicated. So I don't know the answer
• 26:48
Speaker 2: to that, but I think it's a fifty to fifty
• 26:50
Speaker 2: proposition right now. And I will say the contrast, if
• 26:56
Speaker 2: you look at the alums from the Obama administration. If
• 27:00
Speaker 2: you look at Ben Rhoades, who was the deputy Nest
• 27:02
Speaker 2: Security advisor on Obama, he is effectively weeping. You look
• 27:07
Speaker 2: at Jensaki. Jensaki had Ben Roads on TV and they
• 27:11
Speaker 2: were lamenting how horrible it was that roal Castro had
• 27:15
Speaker 2: been indicted. To understand, when Obama was president, he went
• 27:21
Speaker 2: and joined Raoul Castro at a baseball game. They were
• 27:24
Speaker 2: paling it around. They had their arms around each other.
• 27:27
Speaker 2: And listen, Commis like other commies. Listen Barack Obama when
• 27:34
Speaker 2: he was president. At times he pretended he was moderate,
• 27:39
Speaker 2: but I think is the years have gone by, it
• 27:42
Speaker 2: has been clear. Look, there is a very real communist
• 27:46
Speaker 2: movement in the Democrat Party. They've got people like Graham Plattner,
• 27:50
Speaker 2: this crazy self described communist running for Senate in Maine,
• 27:55
Speaker 2: the guy with the Nazi toten Komff tattoo on his chest.
• 28:00
Speaker 4: He will tell you as.
• 28:01
Speaker 2: A communist aoc ilhan Omar. Those folks, they won't quite
• 28:09
Speaker 2: tell you they're communists, but they're close. Al Sayid, who's
• 28:13
Speaker 2: the radical leftist running for Senate in Michigan, is also
• 28:17
Speaker 2: pretty damn close to a communist. And and listen, I
• 28:20
Speaker 2: believe I think Obama is responsible for all of this.
• 28:25
Speaker 2: He has radicalized the Democrat Party.
• 28:28
  Speaker 3: And so you.
• 28:30
Speaker 2: Look at the pictures and images of Obama embracing Raoul Castro.
• 28:37
Speaker 2: Obama loved communists who were enemies of America. Obama started
• 28:42
Speaker 2: as presidency. One of the very first things he did,
• 28:45
Speaker 2: he went to the University of Cairo in Egypt and
• 28:48
Speaker 2: he gave a speech and he said it Iran has
• 28:51
Speaker 2: a right and he used the word right to nuclear technology.
• 28:55
Speaker 2: Now now that's idiocy, that makes no sense. But all
• 29:01
Speaker 2: of the Obama bros Are weeping right now because if
• 29:05
Speaker 2: you gave them a choice, who do you like more
• 29:09
Speaker 2: Raoul Castro, the communist, murdering, torturing, evil tyrants or Donald Trump?
• 29:17
Speaker 2: One hundred percent of the Obama bros would pick Castro
• 29:20
Speaker 2: over Trump. And so they're all freaking out. I gotta say,
• 29:25
Speaker 2: Karma is a bitch.
• 29:27
Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Senter,
