- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. When's the last time that you
- 0:33used the phrase? Well, I'll do that when,
- 0:37whatever that may be. You know, we, we are constant.
- 0:41We can substitute any word in there.
- 0:42But we're constantly saying, well, I'll get to that when or
- 0:45I'll do that when. And we put things off and we
- 0:49wait. It's like, oh, I'll get a puppy
- 0:51when we do this. Or I will, you know, sit down
- 0:55and take the time to read a book when I finished.
- 0:58Da da, da da da, whatever. You want to slot in there.
- 1:02I think it's become too commonplace for us to constantly
- 1:07be saying to ourselves, well, I'm going to just put it till
- 1:10here or I'll do it there or I'll take the vacation when this
- 1:14happens. Now sometimes you have to do
- 1:16that jokingly. I say this because my son just
- 1:18said, oh, he wants to go on this trip and he and my son is not a
- 1:22fantastically well versed eater. He very much likes his simple
- 1:28food. Not that I feed him like bad
- 1:30food at all, but he is one of these kids that likes cheese and
- 1:34meat. He just does not love
- 1:36vegetables. I mean, me getting a banana into
- 1:38him is a big deal and I have to push for it every day.
- 1:42He's just never been that guy, and I know he'll eventually be
- 1:45that guy. So I'm patient because everybody
- 1:48turns around at some point. I've only met one person in my
- 1:51life who was still a grown adult man and could only eat, you
- 1:55know, macaroni and cheese with hot dogs in it.
- 1:58And that was interesting. But that's another story.
- 2:02So he asked me if we could go on vacation.
- 2:06And I said, well, I can't take you to that particular place
- 2:08that you want to go on vacation because you don't eat variety of
- 2:13foods. And when we get over there,
- 2:15they're going to have foods that you don't recognize.
- 2:17So you're going to have to eat other foods so we can go on that
- 2:21vacation when. And then, you know, you decide
- 2:24to eat. And I heard myself saying it and
- 2:26I was like, wow, how many times do we do that?
- 2:28And it's legitimate and how many times do we do it that it's just
- 2:32a completely, you know, ridiculous way to hold ourselves
- 2:36off. We have to realize that when we
- 2:38pull that card and we start to talk about it, we have to be
- 2:41careful because most of the time it's not a legitimate excuse.
- 2:47It's not something that's real. It's a made-up excuse that just
- 2:51says well you know, I I've, I've put myself into this box that is
- 2:58holding me back. For instance, I think it's like
- 3:01I'll be happy when I get this done, that phrase, Oh my God.
- 3:04I can't tell you how much I hear that come out of people's
- 3:07mouths. I hear it when I'm not even
- 3:10coaching. I can hear it when I'm.
- 3:12I heard it the other day was I'm in the store I was shopping with
- 3:15for stuff for my son, for him to go camping and all of a sudden I
- 3:20heard this woman say, well I'll be happy when you're done to the
- 3:23her, her husband partner, whatever he was.
- 3:26And I thought to myself, well, this is such a chronic problem.
- 3:30It's everywhere. We tell ourselves that, we tell
- 3:33other people that. And there's no way to win around
- 3:36those comments. If you're, if you're saying I'm
- 3:38going to delay my happiness until this takes place or I'm
- 3:43going to delay this trip or whatever it might be until this.
- 3:48So you have to decide first of all, is it legitimate?
- 3:53In my case, I stand by it. It was legitimate, but I've done
- 3:56it myself a million times where it's not legitimate.
- 3:58I'll be happy when I get this garden finished.
- 4:00I'll be happy when these grow this way.
- 4:02I'll be happy when I have this, you know, thing done in my
- 4:06chicken coop that I want to do. But the truth is, I can be happy
- 4:10anyway. The truth is I don't have to
- 4:12wait for any of that to happen. I can just choose happiness.
- 4:15And I I I say this often and I want to drill this into you
- 4:19guys. You don't have to be happy when
- 4:24you can be happy anyway. Despite everything that's going
- 4:28on, you can be happy. I have met many, many, many,
- 4:31many people in my life, very blessed through all my work at
- 4:35Tony Robbins to meet many people who had challenges that some of
- 4:38us will never, ever face, most of us will never ever face.
- 4:42And those people were happy anyway.
- 4:45They just chose joy. They chose happiness.
- 4:47They chose love. They chose all these awesome
- 4:50ways to be, and they certainly had no reason to.
- 4:53They could have just stayed the way that they were.
- 4:55They could have stayed the way that they were miserable and you
- 5:01know, down on themselves, down on life.
- 5:03But you know what? They didn't.
- 5:04What they did was they said I'm just going to be happy and I'll
- 5:07deal with all this crap anyway. And for me, it was such a great
- 5:12lesson and reminder that we have to choose it.
- 5:16We must choose it. We must choose to find the joy.
- 5:20We must choose to do the things that are difficult to do, which
- 5:24is choosing that in spite of everything else and not saying
- 5:28I'm going to delay it until this happens.
- 5:32Why would we delay happiness? Why would we delay joy?
- 5:35Why would we put a delay on anything wonderful in our life?
- 5:38Why not just go ahead and say, you know what, I'm just going to
- 5:42do it. I'm just going to have it.
- 5:44I'm going to put it out there for myself because I know how
- 5:46important it is. I think it's a it's a worthwhile
- 5:50endeavour to push yourself and say no, I'm not going to
- 5:55postpone anything anymore that causes me to not find what I'm
- 6:00looking for. I'm going to go out there and
- 6:02I'm going to push myself. Whether it's happiness or joy
- 6:04or, you know, love or saying, hey, I've always wanted to jump
- 6:09in and do this. I've always wanted to try it.
- 6:11If there's something that you've always wanted to try to do, like
- 6:13play the guitar, oh, I'll do that when I retire.
- 6:15Trust me, you don't want to wait because you don't know if you'll
- 6:18ever have the gift of retirement.
- 6:19You don't know if you'll ever have the the gift of the next
- 6:22phase because life is full of uncertainties.
- 6:25So why wait? Why postpone things?
- 6:27Why not just push yourself to the place of saying, you know,
- 6:31whether it's the small things or the big things?
- 6:33I'm going to ask myself, why am I postponing this?
- 6:37Is it legitimate or not? Stop postponing and find it.
- 6:41Put yourself out there because I promise you, you don't want to
- 6:44be the person who says at the end of their life.
- 6:46I wish I had because that sucks. All right, my friends, I will
- 6:50see you tomorrow. Take care and have a very
- 6:53blessed day. Bye.
