- 0:02Speaker 1: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie.
- 0:05Speaker 1: We've got sunshine today and twelve.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Before we get into the tea. And I hate to
- 0:11Speaker 2: do this because I.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Need to pull it together, but I can't stop laughing.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I have been just singing Mikey's praises, like when the
- 0:21Speaker 2: songs are.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Playing, yet Mike.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Is so sweet, He's so cute, blah blah blah.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And finally Game looks at me. Are you ofolatd Angie's
- 0:38Speaker 1: having a morning. She very much in love with am.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But the wild thing is like, I hate you, Gab
- 0:44Speaker 2: because I am like you clocked it and I respect it,
- 0:50Speaker 2: but it was making me crack.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Up ninety.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Celebrating life's little victories victory every morning. We practice this
- 1:00Speaker 3: gratitude on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 1:02Speaker 4: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 1:04Speaker 4: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Had and I just really needed to win, you know.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 1:12Speaker 3: two and oh one ninety eight seven.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Angie, do you have a little victory for us here
- 1:17Speaker 1: this morning?
- 1:18Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'm very excited.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Okay, So yesterday I let you know that. My little
- 1:22Speaker 2: victory is that we found a fun thing as a
- 1:24Speaker 2: family where we watch old Jeopardy episodes and play against
- 1:29Speaker 2: each other as though we're on Jeopardy, and it's very fun. Today,
- 1:33Speaker 2: my little victory is that I'm so glad I live
- 1:40Speaker 2: in Fargo, North Dakota, because.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yesterday when we were playing.
- 1:44Speaker 2: After the kids got home from school, this was the clue.
- 1:49Speaker 2: This colorful river flows north, forming four hundred and forty
- 1:53Speaker 2: miles of the North Dakota Minnesota border and then on
- 1:58Speaker 2: into Canada. It was the day ale double worth six
- 2:01Speaker 2: thousand dollars. And because I live here, I said, what
- 2:05Speaker 2: is the red River?
- 2:06Speaker 1: And I was correct? Oh wow.
- 2:09Speaker 2: It it helped me win Jeopardy yesterday, fake Jeopardy against
- 2:13Speaker 2: my family, but Jeopardy nonetheless.
- 2:16Speaker 1: We actually this is probably almost more important Jeopardy than
- 2:18Speaker 1: real Jeopardy. Yet the family members win exactly. And I
- 2:22Speaker 1: just love that that was a clue. Ah. I felt
- 2:24Speaker 1: so proud. That's my little victory. I'm happy for you.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's a great little victory that something puts a little
- 2:29Speaker 1: pep in your step.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I would not have known that if I weren't
- 2:32Speaker 2: living here. I don't know anything about geography.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, we do have to give Tara a shout out.
- 2:37Speaker 1: She had a little victory. She said, hey, I started
- 2:39Speaker 1: my car today and it didn't sound mad at me.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Oh I love that. Love that because it's like the
- 2:44Speaker 1: coldest day we've had in a week. So wait, go Tara,
- 2:48Speaker 1: that's actually a great text. Yeah, my little victory. I
- 2:52Speaker 1: made a choice yesterday. Okay. I was kind of tired
- 2:56Speaker 1: and it wasn't cold yet, but the wind was kind
- 2:59Speaker 1: of starting to wind. Okay, okay, so Corey and I
- 3:04Speaker 1: took our dog on a walk before it got really cold.
- 3:06Speaker 1: She went with what she doesn't always do just when
- 3:09Speaker 1: it's cold. You know, I don't expect her to go with.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But we both got home. It was probably six thirty,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and I made the choice. I said, you know what,
- 3:17Speaker 1: no matter what, no matter if a comet falls through
- 3:22Speaker 1: the roof of this house, I am putting my phone down,
- 3:26Speaker 1: turning out my my audio book, and going to sleep
- 3:29Speaker 1: at nine thirty. Oh this is impressive. And I did
- 3:33Speaker 1: this yesterday, and to be honest, it might have even
- 3:36Speaker 1: been nine to twenty three. I'm really proud of you, Gabe.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I think sleep is so important and I've always thought
- 3:41Speaker 2: that you go to bed entirely too late for how
- 3:43Speaker 2: early this job is.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So I'm really proud of you. That is a victory. Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I've told Angie before she started here, like I probably
- 3:50Speaker 1: go to bed too late, but I kind of like
- 3:51Speaker 1: to fight it, yeah day because I can just run
- 3:54Speaker 1: off of adrenaline and then I get really tired at
- 3:56Speaker 1: like three, and then I got to fight through that
- 3:58Speaker 1: nap session. We are opposite people. I made the choice
- 4:03Speaker 1: to go to get my sleep schedule back on track.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Not that it's been horrible, but it has not been
- 4:08Speaker 1: great at the start of twenty twenty, I like this
- 4:10Speaker 1: get your sleep high gene intact. That's right. This woman
- 4:17Speaker 1: went viral on TikTok, and I think this is actually
- 4:20Speaker 1: a great parenting hack. But I don't know anything about
- 4:24Speaker 1: being a parent yet, but you're about to me, right,
- 4:27Speaker 1: And I think this is a genius idea. This probably
- 4:29Speaker 1: would have worked on me as a kid if I
- 4:32Speaker 1: was alive today. It was a little different in the nineties.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Not everyone could just whip out their cell phone and
- 4:37Speaker 1: start oh oh yeah, yeah yeah. But this mom went
- 4:39Speaker 1: viral on TikTok because she recorded or I'm sorry. Her
- 4:44Speaker 1: kid was having a meltdown kind of a tantrum, and
- 4:46Speaker 1: her mom whips out the phone and starts recording this tantrum,
- 4:50Speaker 1: which maybe not the greatest parenting advice of all time.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But once the kid realizes they're on camera, that attitude
- 4:57Speaker 1: turns completely around, and it's all it's almost their time
- 5:01Speaker 1: to shine, you know, Okay, I like this. I like this.
- 5:06Speaker 1: A Tantrums are the way I will tell you this, Gabe.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm a mother of two boys, and the tantrums the worst,
- 5:15Speaker 2: the worst. It's so annoying, you feel so frustrated, and yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 2: what are your hacks to stop a tantrum?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Seven on one two eight A one nine eighty seven.
- 5:25Speaker 2: The thing that I I wish I would have known
- 5:28Speaker 2: this because I feel like my kids are such they
- 5:30Speaker 2: always tell me not to record them, so I always
- 5:33Speaker 2: am like, can I record, And they're like no, I
- 5:35Speaker 2: don't think they would love if I recorded a tantrum,
- 5:37Speaker 2: and I feel like they would stop. But the thing
- 5:39Speaker 2: that always worked for me when they were younger is
- 5:43Speaker 2: that if they started having a tantrum, I would start
- 5:45Speaker 2: to have a tantrum too.
- 5:47Speaker 1: You just imitate.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I would imitate yeah, so it would be like ah,
- 5:51Speaker 2: and I would just be like.
- 5:54Speaker 1: A lot right along with them, and they would be
- 5:56Speaker 1: so confused, like why are you doing that?
- 5:59Speaker 5: Right?
- 5:59Speaker 2: And then they would either laugh or just stop because
- 6:02Speaker 2: they were so confused.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Right, or maybe they would get also annoyed by said
- 6:07Speaker 1: tantrum and then be like, Wow, this is just stupid.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, I don't know what the psyche is behind it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I just know that it worked. I like that. That's
- 6:15Speaker 1: actually good advice for future. That's a future gabe. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 1: memory bank RT that in your back pocket, that's right.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Do you have a strategy that you'd be willing to
- 6:27Speaker 1: share with us? Maybe it's a hack for some other
- 6:30Speaker 1: parents out there that works for you dealing with tantrums.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Let us know. This morning here on Big ninety eight
- 6:37Speaker 1: point seven, a woman has gone viral with what some
- 6:45Speaker 1: are calling an incredible tantrum stopper. Yeah, as a kid
- 6:50Speaker 1: was having a tantrum, mom bus out, the phone starts
- 6:53Speaker 1: recording and that attitude changed right around either A I
- 6:56Speaker 1: don't know the psyche behind it, but the kid didn't
- 6:58Speaker 1: want to get embarrassed, or or B they were like, Oh,
- 7:01Speaker 1: that's my time to shine. Kids these days are getting
- 7:05Speaker 1: I don't know what the word more familiar with being
- 7:07Speaker 1: recorded and is to be posted on social media. So
- 7:13Speaker 1: they always want to be their best or whatever. Yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and she uses this as kind of a hack to
- 7:18Speaker 1: prevent and or stop tantrums. What is your tantrum stopping hack?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You have a pretty solid strategy.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Uh.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah. They don't throw tantrums really anymore.
- 7:30Speaker 2: But when they were younger, both my boys, if they
- 7:33Speaker 2: were throwing a tantrum, I would just throw the same
- 7:35Speaker 2: tantrum right along with them, and they would like laugh
- 7:39Speaker 2: and be confused, and then it would diffuse the tantrum.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Ye monkey, see monkey, do get the situation? All right? Elsa,
- 7:46Speaker 1: what do you do? I really believe in discipline, So
- 7:49Speaker 1: I simply tell my kids that something important to them
- 7:53Speaker 1: will be taken away, whether it's a game, their iPad
- 7:56Speaker 1: or ice cream after dinner. The ultimatum always works as long.
- 8:00Speaker 5: As you follow through with it.
- 8:02Speaker 1: That part, Yeah, that's very very old school. That sounds
- 8:06Speaker 1: very Greg and Audrey Glitdin right there. If there was
- 8:08Speaker 1: ever something we were doing where we were acting up
- 8:11Speaker 1: or acting a fool. Did the kids still say that sure?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Or did I just sound thirty five? That was always
- 8:18Speaker 1: our punishment, you know, something we really enjoyed would get
- 8:21Speaker 1: kind of taken away. It's the follow through that you
- 8:24Speaker 1: have to have.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, because if you don't follow through the difference between
- 8:28Speaker 2: me and my exes his parents would not follow through.
- 8:31Speaker 1: My mom always followed through. I was tharing a tantrum.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I remember I wanted to see Jurassic Parking theaters with
- 8:36Speaker 2: my family and I was throwing a tantrum over something
- 8:38Speaker 2: and she said, if you don't stop, you're not going
- 8:41Speaker 2: to go to the movies, right, And I did not stop,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and then she was like, Okay, you're not going. So
- 8:46Speaker 2: then I started acting right. And then when it was
- 8:48Speaker 2: time for us to leave.
- 8:49Speaker 1: She was like, ahh, you're not going. You're staying back.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And I was so shook. What do you mean I'm
- 8:55Speaker 1: not going? She said, no, I told you to stop,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and you didn't. It's too late. Yeah. I remember when
- 9:00Speaker 1: I was maybe ten to eleven. This wasn't like a tantrum,
- 9:03Speaker 1: but it was something I did where I got in trouble.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I got my guitar taken away and I from my
- 9:07Speaker 1: dad for a month, and I remember thinking, oh, what
- 9:11Speaker 1: a punishment, like no guitar? Who cares? Yeah, after like
- 9:15Speaker 1: four days, I was bummed this thing. He were like
- 9:18Speaker 1: begging for that space. And then, of course this was
- 9:21Speaker 1: the best part about Greg. My dad bark way worse
- 9:25Speaker 1: than the bite. You know, he would follow through, but
- 9:28Speaker 1: he'd follow through for like two days, and then he'd
- 9:31Speaker 1: give you whatever back because he felt bad. Raymond, what
- 9:34Speaker 1: about you.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I have an eight month old son and he can
- 9:37Speaker 2: throw the biggest tantrums you have ever seen or heard.
- 9:41Speaker 5: I usually asked him if he wants to go for
- 9:43Speaker 5: riding the car, and that calms him down.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Eight month old throw tantrums. I was like toddlers only no, no, no.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And then when it's a an eight month there's not
- 9:54Speaker 2: really much you can do.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I got a lot to learn now. I found
- 10:05Speaker 1: a TikTok expert okay quotes, take that for what it's worth.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And she had put out this list of lies that
- 10:13Speaker 1: women tell men every single day, and I wanted to
- 10:17Speaker 1: know where you if you're hanging out with us here
- 10:19Speaker 1: this morning, stood on this. If you happen to be
- 10:21Speaker 1: a lady and you're listening this morning, or if you're
- 10:24Speaker 1: a dude, do you think these are true? Now, Angie,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna sadly being that you're my female, You're the
- 10:31Speaker 1: resident lady here. Yeah, ninety eight point seven option. I
- 10:34Speaker 1: need you to speak for every woman that's ever existed
- 10:38Speaker 1: at eight point seven with some of these lies. I
- 10:41Speaker 1: want you to know, do you agree with this TikTok expert?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Or do you not?
- 10:46Speaker 2: And you dare, by the way, betraying us this way?
- 10:50Speaker 1: Now it's fine, fine, and you can let us know
- 10:52Speaker 1: what you think about some of these if you would like,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you can call us or text us at seven oh
- 10:57Speaker 1: one two, eight zero one nine eight seven. Are you
- 10:59Speaker 1: ready for the first one, Angie, I have four of them. Okay, yes,
- 11:02Speaker 1: all right, here's your first one. Here are the.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Most common lies women till men every single day. You know,
- 11:08Speaker 5: I'm just not ready for a relationship right now. Translation,
- 11:12Speaker 5: I'm not ready for a relationship with you. When she
- 11:14Speaker 5: actually meets the guy she wants, she will clear her schedule,
- 11:18Speaker 5: she will move cities and introduce him to mom in
- 11:21Speaker 5: seventy two hours. If she's confused about you, I'm sorry,
- 11:25Speaker 5: but you were never the price.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Can I speak for you. It's so accurate, so true,
- 11:29Speaker 1: so accurate. And I'll let you in on a secret.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's not just ladies who do that. What everybody does this?
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, so we both agree that is probably true.
- 11:40Speaker 1: That's a universal lie. Tell here's your second one. I
- 11:44Speaker 1: want a nice, good guy.
- 11:46Speaker 5: No biggest lie in modern dating it nice equals spineless.
- 11:49Speaker 5: In her world.
- 11:50Speaker 1: She wants the guy.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Who can say no, who has boundaries, and who isn't
- 11:54Speaker 5: terrified of upsetting her. The nice guy gets friend zoned
- 11:56Speaker 5: into oblivion.
- 11:58Speaker 2: No, this is where I disagree, disagree. I live for
- 12:01Speaker 2: a nice guy. That is why I am with my
- 12:04Speaker 2: boyfriend Mikey. He is so sweet, so kind. It's my
- 12:09Speaker 2: favorite thing about him is that he's so nice.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I don't like what a bad boy, guys with an
- 12:16Speaker 2: edge like, that's.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Not my right, not my jam. I really do like
- 12:22Speaker 1: a nice guy. I know what you mean. I think Also,
- 12:25Speaker 1: this could be where you're at in life too. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 1: if you were dating a bad boy, maybe you don't
- 12:32Speaker 1: want to do that anymore.
- 12:33Speaker 2: No, but I think the key maybe for some ladies,
- 12:36Speaker 2: is to get a reformed bad boy.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Sure, maybe had a little edge back in the yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 1: back in the day. Now it's all smoothed out, I
- 12:44Speaker 1: will say I would disagree as well with ladies want
- 12:48Speaker 1: dudes who can say no and they're not afraid. Do
- 12:50Speaker 1: you know how upset my wife gets at me when
- 12:52Speaker 1: she's like, can we go to Olive Garden today? And
- 12:54Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I don't think you'd never say no.
- 12:57Speaker 1: She absolute, which it slowly turns into a yes. All right,
- 13:01Speaker 1: I have two more for you, Angie. Okay, Oh, I
- 13:03Speaker 1: didn't see your text.
- 13:04Speaker 5: I'm sorry. She lives on that phone like it's an
- 13:07Speaker 5: oxygen tank. She saw it, she ignored it.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Oh man, this is a yes. And though because.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I feel like there are a lot of ways I
- 13:17Speaker 2: could try to defend this, but for the most.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Part, she right right now, that doesn't Here's what I'll say.
- 13:27Speaker 1: There are times where I will see a text right
- 13:29Speaker 1: and I'll be like, Okay, this seems like a conversation
- 13:32Speaker 1: that I probably should pay attention to. Yeah, I don't
- 13:35Speaker 1: have the either the time or the energy right now
- 13:38Speaker 1: to give this conversation the attention it deserves. I will
- 13:41Speaker 1: respond to this when I am sitting down and can
- 13:44Speaker 1: worry about responding. Okay, see.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I do this too with you know, acquaintances, friends, But
- 13:51Speaker 2: when it's the dude I like, I could be the
- 13:53Speaker 2: middle of a tornado and I'm texting back immediately.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see the text is the biggest lie
- 13:58Speaker 1: in the history of life. All Right, you're fine, one air.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm not like the other girls.
- 14:02Speaker 5: I promise every girl who says this is exactly like
- 14:06Speaker 5: the rest, biologically wired to chase strength, status, and leadership.
- 14:10Speaker 5: The second you believe her unicorn story is the second
- 14:13Speaker 5: she loses respect. Stop listening to her words, start watching
- 14:17Speaker 5: her actions.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Words are free.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Behavior costs something.
- 14:21Speaker 1: That's why behavior is where truth hides. Asy are you
- 14:25Speaker 1: not like the other girls? I'm not like the other girls.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I'm categorically worse.
- 14:30Speaker 2: If you're with me, you are slumming it and everybody
- 14:33Speaker 2: else is better.
- 14:37Speaker 4: This is am I the problem.
- 14:39Speaker 2: It's me.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Hi, the problem is me.
- 14:44Speaker 3: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help,
- 14:48Speaker 3: decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 14:52Speaker 1: That's right, I am a problem.
- 14:54Speaker 3: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I've only ever heard of this happening with celebri so
- 15:00Speaker 2: this was a real interesting one. Jenny wrote, to us guys,
- 15:04Speaker 2: Am I just too much of a worrier?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Or what? The other day a.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Guy and his wife knocked on my door and I
- 15:10Speaker 2: didn't answer because I never answered my door. But I
- 15:13Speaker 2: answered them on my ring camera and the guy said
- 15:16Speaker 2: he grew up in my house and wanted to show
- 15:18Speaker 2: his wife, which I thought was cool. But he wanted
- 15:21Speaker 2: to come inside, and that's where I said, no. They
- 15:24Speaker 2: seem surprised and press the issue, but no, I don't
- 15:28Speaker 2: know them, and I was there alone with my kids.
- 15:31Speaker 2: They left and I could hear them cursing me out elol.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Every friend I've told thought I was being dramatic and
- 15:38Speaker 2: should have let them in.
- 15:39Speaker 1: What do you think? I think you made the right choice.
- 15:44Speaker 2: But if your question is if you're too much of
- 15:47Speaker 2: a warrier, maybe because I am a worrier.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So, Jenny, I feel you if I don't.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Answer my door either, But that's because I grew up
- 15:56Speaker 2: a latchkey kid and the thing was lock the door,
- 15:59Speaker 2: don't answer for anybody, and I've kept that my entire life,
- 16:03Speaker 2: even as an adult. Even as an adult, I don't
- 16:05Speaker 2: answer the door for anyone. I feel bad, though, because
- 16:08Speaker 2: I know that this is a thing like you want
- 16:09Speaker 2: to show. I went with my boyfriend Mikey to Michigan
- 16:13Speaker 2: over the summer so he could show me where he
- 16:16Speaker 2: grew up and where he lived.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And we went and we drove to the house that
- 16:20Speaker 1: he grew up in.
- 16:21Speaker 2: But what we didn't do and he said, do you
- 16:24Speaker 2: want to go like knock on the door and see
- 16:26Speaker 2: if they'll.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Let us in? And I was like, absolutely not. These
- 16:28Speaker 1: people do not know us, right, they have no liight.
- 16:31Speaker 2: What if it's just also maybe I've seen too many
- 16:33Speaker 2: horror movies, but what if this is a scam to
- 16:36Speaker 2: get in the house and then murder you and your
- 16:38Speaker 2: entire family. Jenny, I'm team Jenny. I don't think you're
- 16:41Speaker 2: being too dramatic.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I did this once with a buddy when we were
- 16:44Speaker 1: like thirteen. We were on our bikes. He had moved
- 16:46Speaker 1: and we drove to his or biked to his old house,
- 16:50Speaker 1: which was not very far from where my house was,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and we knocked on the door and we're like, hey,
- 16:55Speaker 1: we used to live here, I'm with to daycare here
- 16:57Speaker 1: can we come in? And they let us in. Watch
- 17:00Speaker 1: at thirteen years old, probably not the smartest choice of
- 17:02Speaker 1: us to do either, Now that I think about that,
- 17:05Speaker 1: you think, oh, the homeowner like might be in trouble. Yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: we walked into a stranger's house. Now that I think
- 17:12Speaker 1: about it, I'll tell you what. I'm not letting someone
- 17:15Speaker 1: in unless it's like Josh du Mellon he goes, hey,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I used to live here. Can I come on in?
- 17:20Speaker 1: That's right. I would invite him in for many things. Actually, yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 1: let let you know. I don't know. Let Brad Pitt
- 17:27Speaker 1: come to my house and be like, hey, I used
- 17:28Speaker 1: to live here. Can I come on in? I'm telling you, yes,
- 17:31Speaker 1: Brad Pitt, you can.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Yeah. It works with celebrities because you don't assume that a.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Celebrity is gonna murder you in your home. But you
- 17:39Speaker 1: never know.
- 17:40Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't What do you think seven oh
- 17:42Speaker 2: one to two, eight oh one to nine eight seven
- 17:44Speaker 2: would you have let this couple in? If the guy said, hey,
- 17:47Speaker 2: I grew up here, I just want to show my wife.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Let us know. Blayla said, not to be rude, but
- 17:58Speaker 1: get over yourself.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I doubt they were trying to kill you or steal
- 18:03Speaker 2: your things or whatever. People are more kind and genuine
- 18:07Speaker 2: than you think. You should have let them in, and
- 18:10Speaker 2: that would have been such a great memory for them.
- 18:12Speaker 2: So Jenny wrote in and asked if she was the
- 18:14Speaker 2: problem because a couple came to her door and the
- 18:17Speaker 2: husband explained that he grew up in her house and
- 18:20Speaker 2: he wanted to come in and take a look around
- 18:22Speaker 2: and show his wife. She said no because she didn't
- 18:26Speaker 2: feel comfortable with that, and her friends were telling her, like,
- 18:30Speaker 2: you're so dramatic, you should have let them in, And
- 18:33Speaker 2: apparently Layla agrees with Jenny's friends.
- 18:37Speaker 1: What do you think seven oh one to eight zero
- 18:41Speaker 1: one to nine eight seven. I'll be honest, if this
- 18:44Speaker 1: was me, it would depend like if my if I
- 18:47Speaker 1: was there by myself, I'm just hanging out, I'd probably
- 18:51Speaker 1: I could be talked into anything anything. I'm a salesperson's
- 18:54Speaker 1: favorite dream. Okay, just sell it to me and I'll
- 18:57Speaker 1: probably let you in.
- 18:58Speaker 2: If you told, like a story I used to play
- 19:00Speaker 2: hot wheels on the banister.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Exactly, you would have led him in. Yeah, if you
- 19:05Speaker 1: know my wife's home, that might be a little bit different.
- 19:07Speaker 1: But I'm just there by myself.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Probably. There are a lot of people who do not
- 19:12Speaker 1: agree with that statement, though. On Big ninety eight point seven,
- 19:15Speaker 1: we have Sarah who said in today's world, absolutely not
- 19:20Speaker 1: do not let people you don't know into your home. Also,
- 19:24Speaker 1: someone did say I can't find it, but I remembered
- 19:26Speaker 1: off the top of my head it was, Oh it
- 19:28Speaker 1: was Megan, maybe back in the nineties, but the way
- 19:30Speaker 1: the world is now, no way, never let anyone in
- 19:34Speaker 1: your house that you don't know. We also had Nikki,
- 19:37Speaker 1: never let anyone in your home. So a lot of
- 19:40Speaker 1: people agree with Jenny who wrote in This Morning, it's like,
- 19:44Speaker 1: and there is a point to that in twenty twenty six,
- 19:46Speaker 1: you just don't know. You just don't know.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I don't answer the door to anyone ever, not even
- 19:52Speaker 2: if there's a fire and it's a firefighter.
- 19:55Speaker 1: When I did this, I think it was the late
- 19:58Speaker 1: nineties early two thousands, where my buddy and I rode
- 20:01Speaker 1: our bikes to his old house and went into his
- 20:04Speaker 1: home which was now a stranger's home, which also not
- 20:07Speaker 1: a great idea. Kids, never ever do that. No, don't
- 20:10Speaker 1: do it. It was a different time. Okay, Mom used
- 20:12Speaker 1: to let me go to the park by myself. Okay,
- 20:15Speaker 1: so let us know what you think seven oh one two,
- 20:18Speaker 1: eight zero one, nine eighty seven, or maybe you have
- 20:21Speaker 1: done this. Someone came up was like, Oh, hey, don't
- 20:23Speaker 1: want to bother you. I just I used to live
- 20:25Speaker 1: here and it it'd be cool just to see the place.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Maybe you did let someone in and it was cool.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Maybe you're still in contact with them, maybe they became friends,
- 20:32Speaker 1: or maybe it was just a fun story you tell
- 20:34Speaker 1: a Thanksgiving every year.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we want to hear from you. Or if you're
- 20:37Speaker 2: the person who has gone to someone's home and said, hey,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I used to live here. Did they let you in?
- 20:42Speaker 1: How did that go? Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven?
- 20:48Speaker 1: Who's this?
- 20:48Speaker 3: Hi?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Alien?
- 20:49Speaker 1: What do you think? Have you ever gone to your
- 20:52Speaker 1: old house or have you had someone come to your
- 20:54Speaker 1: house and be like, hey, I used to live here.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I have not.
- 20:56Speaker 5: I've just strove by my house to my old house.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I've always wondered that but never done it.
- 21:03Speaker 5: But no, I would never let anyone into my own house,
- 21:06Speaker 5: for one, because it's always messy with little kids.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And you're not worried about potential danger, You're worry about
- 21:16Speaker 1: potential judgment. Right, if you don't know this about our Angie,
- 21:24Speaker 1: if you walked into Angie's house, you will see a typewriter.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I love my typewriter and why do you have a
- 21:33Speaker 1: typewriter in twenty twenty six? Because it's cool. I love
- 21:37Speaker 1: the feeling of.
- 21:39Speaker 2: The keys and like the clacking the I don't even
- 21:43Speaker 2: know how to make that sound, but it's so good
- 21:46Speaker 2: and satisfy you if.
- 21:48Speaker 1: You had to, if you had to try to make
- 21:50Speaker 1: the sound, could you, It's like, as, that's actually pretty good. Yes,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I love all that sound.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And like the keyboard on a laptop or even a
- 21:59Speaker 2: desk up computer not the same.
- 22:02Speaker 1: There is something about punching typewriter.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Key yeah, and then like it makes the little imprint
- 22:08Speaker 2: on the paper with the ink.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Oh, it's so good. Yeah. Do you have a device
- 22:14Speaker 1: that we'll call classical? Okay, do you have just a
- 22:17Speaker 1: classic device that you refuse to get rid of? Seven
- 22:21Speaker 1: oh one two eight zero one eight seven You can
- 22:25Speaker 1: text us or call us. And here I was kind
- 22:27Speaker 1: of making fun of Angie with her typewriter.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Well, you know.
- 22:30Speaker 2: The other thing is that if I want something typed, like,
- 22:34Speaker 2: I type it and there it is.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't want to have to deal with a printer something. Ye,
- 22:38Speaker 1: that is true. Yeah, it's right in front of it,
- 22:40Speaker 1: it's right in front of you.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Anyway, I cut you off because I'm just still waxing
- 22:44Speaker 2: poetic about this, ye typewriter.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But what about you? We can tell you care about this. Yeah,
- 22:49Speaker 1: if you walk into my house and go to our
- 22:51Speaker 1: living room, I have and these have become a lot
- 22:55Speaker 1: more popular as of late here, even within the last
- 22:58Speaker 1: I don't know, five tennis years. But I about my collection.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I have a bunch of records, oh yeah, the sixties
- 23:09Speaker 1: and seventies, a lot of those classic rock bands, you know,
- 23:12Speaker 1: and blues guitar players that my dad had collected in
- 23:16Speaker 1: his younger days. And one day I was down there,
- 23:20Speaker 1: down there, I was in my parents' basement and I
- 23:23Speaker 1: found them. They were just in this milk carton, and
- 23:26Speaker 1: I asked him, do you want these anymore? He goes, no,
- 23:29Speaker 1: you can have them. So when you go to your
- 23:31Speaker 1: favorite record store, you know, and you find led Zeppelin
- 23:34Speaker 1: one and do buy it, that's great. I think it's
- 23:37Speaker 1: really cool. I think vinyl records coming back is awesome.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I will say the ones they make now are very
- 23:43Speaker 1: different than the ones they had back in the day,
- 23:47Speaker 1: recorded on analog, and I don't want to get too
- 23:49Speaker 1: nerdy on sound, but the ones back in the day.
- 23:52Speaker 1: In my opinion, sound way warmer, way fuller than now
- 23:56Speaker 1: when they take basically an MP three and slap copy
- 23:58Speaker 1: and paste it onto a vinyl record.
- 24:00Speaker 2: So you have records and obviously like a record player. Yes,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and is it like an old school one that you
- 24:07Speaker 2: got like from your parents.
- 24:09Speaker 1: No, No, that is like a new age kind of record.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Oh okay. I asked my dad if I could have
- 24:16Speaker 1: his old turntable and he got rid of it, and
- 24:19Speaker 1: the story's pretty funny. He still gives my sister some
- 24:23Speaker 1: some crap about it to this day. She broke the needle, oh,
- 24:28Speaker 1: on the turntable on the arm. Yeah, and they're easily replaceable.
- 24:33Speaker 1: It's not like it takes a genius to replace this needle.
- 24:36Speaker 1: But he just never did, and so he was like, no,
- 24:39Speaker 1: so I would just went out and bought one. But
- 24:41Speaker 1: it is there is something to using these old classic
- 24:45Speaker 1: things that just makes you feel good. When I listen
- 24:47Speaker 1: to Dire Straits Brothers in Arms and there's a your
- 24:51Speaker 1: kid just went Who's that? When I listen to that record,
- 24:55Speaker 1: it I swear I can like see the sound oh
- 24:58Speaker 1: it ah my living room.
- 25:00Speaker 2: See.
- 25:00Speaker 1: You gotta keep these classic things alive.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I wish I still had a VCR because I have
- 25:07Speaker 2: a ton of VHS tapes, including the original A Laddin
- 25:13Speaker 2: VHS tape where he says something that might be considered
- 25:18Speaker 2: inappropriate and not safe for work, and they don't have
- 25:21Speaker 2: that in the digital version.
- 25:23Speaker 1: They don't stream that. I need a VCR seven oh
- 25:25Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Is there
- 25:28Speaker 1: a classic item you have at your house that you
- 25:30Speaker 1: refuse to get rid of? I don't think my mom
- 25:32Speaker 1: has anymore, but she used to have an old like
- 25:35Speaker 1: sewing machine. Now, oh yeah, I think that thinks sat
- 25:38Speaker 1: and collected does for centuries. But I'm out. Do you
- 25:46Speaker 1: think in ten years will have cell phones still? Yeah? Yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 1: won't we I would kind of agree we will. But
- 25:56Speaker 1: at this point in ten years, will they turn into
- 25:58Speaker 1: like the Ironman suit? Oh gosh, yeah, you know what?
- 26:03Speaker 1: I will say this.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I think that we've got it's got stagnant, right, because
- 26:08Speaker 2: we went from whatever year the iPhone came out to
- 26:12Speaker 2: now it hasn't really changed that much.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Right, I'm sure there are things in it that have
- 26:18Speaker 1: changed a ton that us regular people don't know or realize.
- 26:21Speaker 1: That's even in our phone. Yeah. Yeah, well there's a
- 26:23Speaker 1: reason I asked this question. Samsung posted this question what
- 26:28Speaker 1: are some features you hope you have with your phone
- 26:33Speaker 1: by twenty thirty six, and some of these answers are fantastic.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Are there things you wish your phone will be able
- 26:40Speaker 1: to do in ten years? Let us know at seven
- 26:43Speaker 1: oh one two, eight zero one nine eight seven. What
- 26:46Speaker 1: about you? I think you have kind of a lot
- 26:48Speaker 1: of good ones.
- 26:49Speaker 2: That's a great question posed by Samsung. So I'm going
- 26:52Speaker 2: to tell you what I hope my iPhone does.
- 26:55Speaker 1: By the way, this is not sponsored by Samsung. They
- 26:57Speaker 1: have no idea we exist. No, they don't. I'm saying
- 27:00Speaker 1: I don't even like sam Sung.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I'm an iPhone all the way I want. There's a
- 27:04Speaker 2: few things I want to and I don't want it
- 27:07Speaker 2: to be an app. I don't want to have to
- 27:09Speaker 2: download an app for these things. Okay, I want my
- 27:12Speaker 2: phone to just take my temperature when I'm sick, when
- 27:16Speaker 2: the kids are sick. I hate having to find that
- 27:18Speaker 2: stupid thermometer. And you're gonna be a dad soon. Please
- 27:22Speaker 2: remember where the thermometer?
- 27:25Speaker 1: Well, I think I might have to get one. Well, yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 1: there you go.
- 27:28Speaker 2: But yeah, I want my phone to be able to
- 27:29Speaker 2: take my temperature. I want to be able to just
- 27:34Speaker 2: take a picture of a piece of furniture and then
- 27:36Speaker 2: I need it to give me the dimensions of that
- 27:39Speaker 2: piece of furniture.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Oh it's like how long.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Or time, how long with whatever. I just want to
- 27:44Speaker 2: do that from the camera app. I don't want to
- 27:46Speaker 2: download any apps for it. I just want my phone
- 27:49Speaker 2: to do it.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Or maybe you don't even have to take a picture.
- 27:52Speaker 1: You just hold up the camera thing and it will
- 27:54Speaker 1: highlight it and just tell you the dimension. Yes, that
- 27:57Speaker 1: is great, Yes, that is what I want.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I want also, I mean I want to be able
- 28:01Speaker 2: to look at some not that I'm going to be dating,
- 28:03Speaker 2: but like my girlfriends, I want them to immediately know
- 28:07Speaker 2: a man's height as soon as they see. I want
- 28:11Speaker 2: there to be a notification as my girlfriends are swiping
- 28:14Speaker 2: through Tinder and if the guy says he's five ten,
- 28:19Speaker 2: and I need the notification to be like being he's
- 28:21Speaker 2: five seven, Like I need Thats.
- 28:23Speaker 1: What I need. Well, mine is very very simple. I
- 28:27Speaker 1: think a lot of people would agree with me here.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I just want my phone to last for like a
- 28:33Speaker 1: week on a single charge. Oh, it gets a hundred
- 28:37Speaker 1: percent This bad boy better last days, not hours, not minutes. Days.
- 28:43Speaker 1: All right, that'll be the that'll be the deciding factor
- 28:46Speaker 1: on what phone I rock in twenty thirty six? How
- 28:49Speaker 1: long does that battery last?
- 28:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's actually way better than anything I said.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I like the dimensions thing. That's really good.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight Vivan.
- 29:00Speaker 1: What feature do you hope phones eventually have at least
- 29:05Speaker 1: by twenty thirty six?
- 29:06Speaker 4: Let us know this morning, I need some good starting
- 29:12Speaker 4: off the day with something good. This is Gabe's good
- 29:16Speaker 4: News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Well, there is someone who lives here in the Midwest
- 29:22Speaker 1: that their day starts off every day kind of like this.
- 29:31Speaker 1: That would be a bus full of dogs. Okay, Well,
- 29:35Speaker 1: oh my gosh, that's so cute. What started as a
- 29:38Speaker 1: simple after work dog walking program it turned into a
- 29:42Speaker 1: full time business, complete with a school bus, for Hope Melburg.
- 29:48Speaker 1: She was looking for a way to undwine and she
- 29:50Speaker 1: began walking her own dogs, and then her friend's dogs,
- 29:53Speaker 1: and eventually neighbors pets. After helping rescuing. After helping to
- 29:58Speaker 1: rescue an injured dog and adding or pups to her routine,
- 30:01Speaker 1: word spread and demand groove. She upgraded from her car
- 30:05Speaker 1: to a van and then took this giant leap of faith.
- 30:10Speaker 1: In twenty twenty three, she actually quit her government job,
- 30:14Speaker 1: bought a bus, and launched the K nine Convoy. There's
- 30:18Speaker 1: a chance you see little videos like this on your
- 30:20Speaker 1: Instagram or Facebook or whatever. Hope now transports transports more
- 30:25Speaker 1: than twenty dogs a day to this private park where
- 30:28Speaker 1: they can run, play and socialize with their BFFs. And
- 30:32Speaker 1: it turned this stress reliever into what she has called
- 30:35Speaker 1: the best job she's ever had. If you are a
- 30:37Speaker 1: dog person or just an animal person, a pet person,
- 30:40Speaker 1: there's a good chance you've seen a bus of dogs
- 30:42Speaker 1: sitting there with their deep belt on and their harnesses,
- 30:46Speaker 1: just enjoying their day away. And Hope is someone who
- 30:50Speaker 1: left a government job, which are very good jobs most
- 30:52Speaker 1: of the time, left that to hang out with some
- 30:55Speaker 1: dogs all day, which is great.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It is so cute, so adorable, and I need to
- 30:59Speaker 2: immediate get online and look up videos.
- 31:01Speaker 1: And pictures of this. Yeah, if you're having a down
- 31:03Speaker 1: day at any point today, you just type in K
- 31:06Speaker 1: nine convoy on Google and hit the images. If that
- 31:10Speaker 1: doesn't set you straight for the day, I don't know
- 31:12Speaker 1: what will okay. The world's full of nice people. If
- 31:15Speaker 1: you can't find one, you gotta be one.
