- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: All Right, everybody, we're back on kind of Famous, breaking
- 0:09Speaker 2: down the final three episodes of our new favorite dating show,
- 0:12Speaker 2: Love Overboard. This has been such a funny, hilarious and
- 0:18Speaker 2: dramatic journey on this show, and finally we get to
- 0:23Speaker 2: see who wins.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Heather, just before we get into it all, were you surprised.
- 0:28Speaker 4: By who won this show? Well?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I was, and I'm not going to give it away
- 0:33Speaker 2: because we're at the top of our episode here, but
- 0:36Speaker 2: I was because I had a couple pegged to win.
- 0:39Speaker 2: So I would say that I was a little bit
- 0:42Speaker 2: at a loss and some grief at the end of
- 0:44Speaker 2: this episode because who I had pegged to win didn't win,
- 0:50Speaker 2: and they're the cutest, cutest, cutest cutest.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I got the winner spoiled to me by a title
- 0:57Speaker 3: of an article three days ago, so I already knew
- 1:00Speaker 3: what was going to happen.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Okay, you mentioned it in our last episode, and I
- 1:03Speaker 2: saw it. I purposely did not open up my social
- 1:05Speaker 2: media yesterday, thank you for the warning, but I saw
- 1:08Speaker 2: it after I finished the three episodes.
- 1:10Speaker 3: It's hard just in how fast the internet moves with
- 1:13Speaker 3: these shows, and especially with something like this where they
- 1:15Speaker 3: dumped all the episodes, it's similar. It's like, you know,
- 1:19Speaker 3: when I'm watching Secret Lives and Mormon Wives on Hulu
- 1:23Speaker 3: and they drop nine episodes, that's my weekend. I sit
- 1:26Speaker 3: there and I will watch all nine in forty eight hours.
- 1:29Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:29Speaker 3: So I kind of enjoyed this, like watching a couple
- 1:33Speaker 3: every night and stopping myself. But it is really hard
- 1:37Speaker 3: to avoid the spoilers on the internet, for sure.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You know what I did do myself just the tiniest
- 1:43Speaker 2: service and read some of the comments on that article,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and you were not alone. The majority, ninety eight percent
- 1:52Speaker 2: of them were like, really, bro, Like could you just
- 1:54Speaker 2: wait a little bit? Like you ruined the entire thing
- 1:56Speaker 2: for us.
- 1:57Speaker 4: In under a week.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Is kind of meanited people like, there's a way to
- 2:02Speaker 3: release articles similar to what we do here on the pod.
- 2:06Speaker 3: We say spoiler alert. You can use a static image
- 2:09Speaker 3: that is not of the people on the cast or
- 2:13Speaker 3: just the logo of the show, like it's it's a
- 2:15Speaker 3: purposeful thing.
- 2:16Speaker 4: When they do something like that. I agree.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Let's jump right in, because you guys, as we started
- 2:24Speaker 2: this episode, we were chatting a little bit and I
- 2:26Speaker 2: do believe it was a stretch to bring out the
- 2:28Speaker 2: end of the show in three episodes. I could have
- 2:31Speaker 2: done with one. Two is a stretch for me, but
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think they could have wrapped it up a little
- 2:37Speaker 2: bit quicker. So let's jump right into episode seven, Heather.
- 2:41Speaker 2: This episode opens with the cast going to their beach
- 2:44Speaker 2: party and shockingly, they're being greeted by the exes that
- 2:49Speaker 2: were sent overboard. David is so anxious from jump that
- 2:55Speaker 2: Low might be there as well. I mean, like we
- 2:58Speaker 2: see him just so sweaty, and he is talking about
- 3:01Speaker 2: how sweaty he is, like he is just crippled with anxiety. Rightfully, so,
- 3:05Speaker 2: given everything he has done and put her through and
- 3:08Speaker 2: himself and vow to like the whole triangle was clinging
- 3:12Speaker 2: to every word, and we kind of get in some
- 3:15Speaker 2: sort of passing moment, we get kind of an idea
- 3:17Speaker 2: of how much time has actually elapsed between this decision
- 3:22Speaker 2: and where they're at now, And it's been about two weeks.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Val says that they've been spending time together, So yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 2: it's been two weeks of no Low. So it feels
- 3:32Speaker 2: very fast when you're watching the episodes all back together, like, oh,
- 3:35Speaker 2: she just left like a day ago, but it's actually
- 3:38Speaker 2: been a little bit more time. So you know what
- 3:40Speaker 2: is interesting to me from a reality TV standpoint, Like
- 3:44Speaker 2: when I was on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the
- 3:46Speaker 2: contestants get sent home like they might keep them in
- 3:48Speaker 2: a hotel for a couple of days, but they don't
- 3:50Speaker 2: stay through the longevity of filming. And it became clear
- 3:54Speaker 2: to me, and tell me if I've got it wrong,
- 3:56Speaker 2: but maybe because it's the first season, they were kind
- 3:59Speaker 2: of a sure the concept or what they were going
- 4:02Speaker 2: to do, but it was clear to me that the
- 4:04Speaker 2: cast offs stayed. They must have stayed the entire time
- 4:08Speaker 2: during filming.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I think that was planned, so they don't know ahead
- 4:13Speaker 3: of time who is going home or who's being eliminated when.
- 4:19Speaker 4: But when you do.
- 4:20Speaker 3: A casting like this, I think the assumption was always
- 4:23Speaker 3: to have that survivor style ending where the final couple
- 4:28Speaker 3: is chosen by the castaways. And so in order to
- 4:33Speaker 3: do that, you just when you're in the midst of casting,
- 4:36Speaker 3: you say you will be gone for six weeks, six weeks,
- 4:40Speaker 3: four weeks, six weeks, and when you get eliminated, you
- 4:44Speaker 3: just go back to the hotel. A lot of people
- 4:46Speaker 3: that you'll talk to that have been on shows like
- 4:48Speaker 3: that will say some of my best moments were just
- 4:52Speaker 3: when I got eliminated and.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I go back to the hotel.
- 4:55Speaker 3: People usually like love that because they're sick of the
- 4:58Speaker 3: cameras being in their face. In this situation too, if
- 5:01Speaker 3: you've been living in the downside, you're probably like, great,
- 5:03Speaker 3: now I get to go back and like live in
- 5:05Speaker 3: a normal hotel and like, you know, you don't get
- 5:08Speaker 3: free rein.
- 5:10Speaker 4: That's a misconception.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Just because you're not filming the show doesn't mean you
- 5:13Speaker 3: just get to go vacation.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah, you're not trooping around Malta on your own.
- 5:18Speaker 3: You have a handler with you, and you're probably still
- 5:22Speaker 3: not having access to your phone.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I do remember that part.
- 5:26Speaker 2: For the most part, I was confined to a hotel
- 5:28Speaker 2: room and I had a babysitter, my handler, you know
- 5:30Speaker 2: what I mean, that took me to and from anyway,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I found that very interesting, all right. So we are
- 5:35Speaker 2: then shown like Gabby comes out. She's she was very
- 5:39Speaker 2: much a part of these final three episodes where I
- 5:42Speaker 2: feel like in the beginning we only saw her kind
- 5:43Speaker 2: of like she came in for the for the plank,
- 5:46Speaker 2: ceremonies and certain things, but we got a lot of
- 5:48Speaker 2: Gabby in these last three episodes.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Gabby comes out.
- 5:53Speaker 2: The exiles can tempt their way back onto the yacht
- 5:57Speaker 2: by breaking up one of the other couples or connecting
- 6:00Speaker 2: with someone who's single, and if two exiles connect, they
- 6:04Speaker 2: will be able to come back on board together. Everyone
- 6:08Speaker 2: starts to mingle and fill in the exiles on what's
- 6:11Speaker 2: been happening on the yacht. But we immediately see Reese
- 6:15Speaker 2: he's interested in Sophia, and I don't know, these were
- 6:18Speaker 2: kind of like for me, Heather, they were bits that
- 6:20Speaker 2: I just didn't really need. Tim starts to overthink and
- 6:25Speaker 2: have anxiety about the relationship with Gia because Bo is
- 6:28Speaker 2: there and he's in the mix. Pasa desperately tries to
- 6:31Speaker 2: make connections with someone he doesn't care who's in a couple.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Sophia's goal is to tell Andrew she doesn't like him
- 6:38Speaker 2: and go for Reese. Christine spills that she and Jake
- 6:41Speaker 2: had sex. There are so much in this short period
- 6:44Speaker 2: of time that like it were back to the chaos.
- 6:48Speaker 2: For me, what felt like chaos in the first episode.
- 6:50Speaker 2: There were just so many bits that I don't think
- 6:52Speaker 2: as a viewer I needed.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I think it would have been funnier just to see
- 6:56Speaker 3: them kind of mingling and just kind of catching each
- 7:00Speaker 3: other up on the drama. I don't know if we
- 7:02Speaker 3: needed this whole element of, like.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Try to break up a couple.
- 7:06Speaker 3: That's probably not gonna happen at this point, Like everybody's
- 7:10Speaker 3: pretty firm in their ways, and we're like a second
- 7:14Speaker 3: away from the finale, so I don't think that's gonna happen.
- 7:16Speaker 3: And like two exiles coupling up and getting back on,
- 7:20Speaker 3: I mean, it happens, but it's kind of unnecessary.
- 7:25Speaker 2: None of this mattered. I cared about just a couple
- 7:27Speaker 2: of things. Once I heard Sophia speak. I wanted to
- 7:30Speaker 2: see her talk to Andrew because I just feel like
- 7:32Speaker 2: some things needed to be brought to his attention. And
- 7:35Speaker 2: then the only other thing that I was holding on
- 7:36Speaker 2: too was seeing David and Low. Those are the only
- 7:38Speaker 2: two things that I really cared about in all of
- 7:41Speaker 2: this situation. But first we get Sophia and Andrew, and
- 7:45Speaker 2: this makes me so happy. She's so cute. I don't
- 7:48Speaker 2: remember seeing a lot about her in the beginning, like
- 7:50Speaker 2: her role in the show was very minimal, but she
- 7:53Speaker 2: says none of the girls like Andrew. She calls him egotistical,
- 7:57Speaker 2: which Heather We've been discussing this since episode one, about
- 8:01Speaker 2: how it's just not there for him. He is so
- 8:04Speaker 2: blinded by his own persona that he can't see anything else.
- 8:08Speaker 2: So there's a part of me that was like screaming
- 8:10Speaker 2: watching that episode. I'm like, I can't wait for Heather
- 8:12Speaker 2: to see this because were you just like, amen, sister,
- 8:14Speaker 2: thank you, someone finally said it.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I mean, I think egotistical is kind of like mean.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I think that like.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Andrew is just, for lack of a better term, dnse Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I think he just like kind of just sees what's
- 8:31Speaker 3: in front of him and not like a big like
- 8:34Speaker 3: peripheral viewer, and so I don't.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Think that he's egotistical.
- 8:39Speaker 3: To me, is like somebody who walks around and is like,
- 8:42Speaker 3: I'm the hottest guy here, and I can act like
- 8:44Speaker 3: an apple because everybody's obsessed with me.
- 8:47Speaker 4: That's what I will.
- 8:48Speaker 2: To be fair, though, you don't think that in the
- 8:51Speaker 2: first episode that he was quite getting that edit.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I think that like everybody on this ship knows that
- 8:57Speaker 3: they're very hot, and that's why they were on this show,
- 9:00Speaker 3: and they were probably like, it's a competition. I gotta
- 9:04Speaker 3: like flex, and I'm around a bunch of dudes, Like
- 9:07Speaker 3: I give him a little bit of a pass on that.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I just think that, like, this whole conversation with Sophia
- 9:13Speaker 3: felt super forced to me, and I felt like she
- 9:17Speaker 3: was playing it up for the cameras. Quite honestly, I
- 9:21Speaker 3: don't think she had any intention on like ever speaking
- 9:24Speaker 3: to him again, and like didn't really want to clear
- 9:27Speaker 3: the air, and like, I just think it kind of
- 9:29Speaker 3: made her look even worse.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I agree. I agree, because she left on a high note,
- 9:34Speaker 2: you know what I mean. She at least like let
- 9:36Speaker 2: him believe whatever and then jumped off into sea. So
- 9:39Speaker 2: I also, I'm with you. I really didn't need this
- 9:41Speaker 2: bit of her calling him out, telling me zeotistical, repulsed
- 9:44Speaker 2: by him. I just didn't need any of it felt
- 9:45Speaker 2: kind of gross. What I did need was Low. That's
- 9:51Speaker 2: what I needed. Low enters and the girls are excited
- 9:54Speaker 2: to see her. No one jumps up but her girls.
- 9:57Speaker 2: They all run over. They're so happy, greet her with hugs,
- 10:02Speaker 2: and they immediately give Low the info. They tell her
- 10:07Speaker 2: that Val gave David a blowjob on their date, like
- 10:10Speaker 2: they fill her in Immediately, Low starts to direct her
- 10:15Speaker 2: anger at Val, and so we go back. I'm just like,
- 10:18Speaker 2: when I was watching these episodes, I'm thinking about all
- 10:20Speaker 2: the things that we talked about, and I was, I
- 10:23Speaker 2: don't know when you and I spoke about it before.
- 10:25Speaker 2: It didn't bother me at first, but it really bothered
- 10:28Speaker 2: me in this episode how she attacked Val.
- 10:30Speaker 3: But how on the money were we We literally said, like,
- 10:34Speaker 3: don't slut shame the woman, like your anger is misdirected,
- 10:38Speaker 3: And then all of our words were literally being said
- 10:41Speaker 3: right back to her.
- 10:41Speaker 4: They were like, Wow, you.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Really shouldn't slut shame her. Wow, you're like anger is misdirected.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I was like, we didn't watch ahead, guys, I swear
- 10:49Speaker 3: we did not. We've been watching it as we.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Nope, we watched it as everybody else. But I was
- 10:54Speaker 2: happy to see the other girls stick up for her
- 10:56Speaker 2: because I think there was that moment where everyone was
- 10:58Speaker 2: pretty angry when Low got at home. And truly, in
- 11:02Speaker 2: all of this, I'm with you. I believe that the
- 11:04Speaker 2: responsibility lands on David's shoulders and what he did and
- 11:08Speaker 2: the way he handled this, But in that moment, it
- 11:11Speaker 2: just made me think, like, this is what we do.
- 11:14Speaker 2: A lot of women do this. We immediately, we immediately
- 11:19Speaker 2: think it's the other woman's fault. We skip the blame
- 11:22Speaker 2: on the real person who needs to take responsibility here
- 11:24Speaker 2: and Lo did that. She showed us every bit of that.
- 11:28Speaker 2: She literally called her low class to her face and
- 11:32Speaker 2: embarrassed her.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Really, I do that? Do you think he had every.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Opportunity to walk over and diffuse the situation? Did he
- 11:42Speaker 3: let it continue? He's like a little puppet master in
- 11:46Speaker 3: that sense of like creates the chaos, walks away, watches
- 11:51Speaker 3: the women, you know, doing their thing. So I just
- 11:56Speaker 3: think as these episodes continue to play out, I think
- 12:00Speaker 3: that David had multiple opportunities to set the record straight,
- 12:05Speaker 3: take accountability, you know, take control of conversations, and time
- 12:10Speaker 3: and time again as we watched, he just continued to
- 12:13Speaker 3: dig a deeper hole for himself gaslight, not take accountability,
- 12:18Speaker 3: and from what I see, not really grow from this experience.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It also like, at what point did he not think
- 12:25Speaker 2: that he could go over and stand up for val
- 12:28Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 12:29Speaker 4: Exactly?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Why didn't he do that? Why didn't he defend her.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Why didn't he stop the situation because him was in
- 12:34Speaker 2: Vowe's fault.
- 12:35Speaker 3: It it goes back to what I think from the
- 12:37Speaker 3: last episode that he doesn't actually like her. I don't
- 12:41Speaker 3: think that he's actually that invested in it. I think
- 12:45Speaker 3: that he liked what happened between them, Yeah, but I
- 12:48Speaker 3: don't think he actually likes her. And it goes back
- 12:51Speaker 3: to what Tim said, which is he made his bed
- 12:54Speaker 3: and now he has to lie in it. So I
- 12:55Speaker 3: think he just was like, oh, I just like blew
- 12:59Speaker 3: up the boat and like made this crazy decision. Everybody
- 13:03Speaker 3: hates me already, goes I'm gonna stick with this girl
- 13:06Speaker 3: now because of it, And like, I think if he
- 13:08Speaker 3: had it his way, he would have kept a wandering
- 13:12Speaker 3: eye or whatever.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Have his cake and eat it too, per se. Right, hmm, Well,
- 13:18Speaker 2: we get the chat Low and David. Uh. We get
- 13:22Speaker 2: the chat. Low pretends like she does not know what
- 13:25Speaker 2: happened between David and val She's waiting for David to
- 13:28Speaker 2: tell her the truth, and poor girl, she's me waiting
- 13:30Speaker 2: for a while. David says he wishes that he had
- 13:33Speaker 2: time with Low to tell her about his concerns about
- 13:35Speaker 2: their relationship, and then he goes into things like Low
- 13:39Speaker 2: being jealous that he didn't like you know, for me,
- 13:42Speaker 2: this is more gaslighting. This is more gaslighting, Heather.
- 13:46Speaker 4: This is anybody listening, this is the definition of gas lighting.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I mean this guy starting out by saying, I wish
- 13:54Speaker 3: we had time.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Uh, oh, bro, what were you doing? Yeah for how.
- 14:00Speaker 3: However, many days before Val ever showed up, all you
- 14:03Speaker 3: were doing.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And we see him Heather talking to the other guys
- 14:06Speaker 2: about how the sexual chemistry wasn't there, he never had
- 14:09Speaker 2: an orgasm the many times they had sex. We see
- 14:12Speaker 2: him telling other people he just did not take the
- 14:15Speaker 2: time to tell Low, like he didn't care about her
- 14:17Speaker 2: that much.
- 14:19Speaker 4: No accountability from this guy, David.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I really hope that watching this experience back is like
- 14:27Speaker 3: holding up a crazy mirror to you as to how
- 14:30Speaker 3: you're moving through life, because woof this this was not
- 14:35Speaker 3: good to watch. And she keeps poking him, She keeps
- 14:38Speaker 3: poking him, You're not telling me everything. I know, you're
- 14:40Speaker 3: not telling me everything. Tell me more. And he's like,
- 14:43Speaker 3: you know, going on this dance of like, oh, I
- 14:45Speaker 3: really don't know if I should like betray VAL's privacy
- 14:49Speaker 3: and tell Low or I should just like, give her
- 14:52Speaker 3: most of the truth.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Bro. You already told KRII as soon as it happened,
- 14:56Speaker 4: like what went down? You told Tim.
- 14:58Speaker 3: What happened when it went down. Everybody on the boat
- 15:01Speaker 3: knows what went down. But now you're like, oh, I
- 15:04Speaker 3: want to respect VAL's privacy again, this is these are
- 15:09Speaker 3: this is lying.
- 15:10Speaker 4: This is lying.
- 15:11Speaker 3: You're not interested in respecting VAL's privacy. You don't want
- 15:15Speaker 3: to take accountability, you don't want to talk about the details.
- 15:19Speaker 3: And for anybody that is wondering when you evade telling
- 15:26Speaker 3: the full truth, that is still lying. Yeah, that's still
- 15:31Speaker 3: lying in a way. So he's not doing anybody favors
- 15:35Speaker 3: and low ends up just like you know, leaving this
- 15:40Speaker 3: conversation because David chooses to not tell her the details
- 15:44Speaker 3: of what he ended up doing with her in the shower.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, see your way out girl.
- 15:50Speaker 4: All right.
- 15:50Speaker 2: We see Reese and Sophia. They choose to couple up,
- 15:53Speaker 2: so they're back on the yacht. I don't know, Heather,
- 15:56Speaker 2: I didn't need this. It felt neither here nor there
- 15:59Speaker 2: for me, felt like a piece of the show that
- 16:01Speaker 2: just I could have done without. But we here, we are,
- 16:04Speaker 2: David and Val connect after the dramatic day. He says
- 16:07Speaker 2: that he thinks he and Val have more of a
- 16:10Speaker 2: chance at a long term relationship than he and Low did.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I still don't see him taking responsibility in this moment either.
- 16:17Speaker 2: For Val. He doesn't even he doesn't even acknowledge or
- 16:20Speaker 2: apologize for the fact that he could have stood up
- 16:22Speaker 2: with stood up for her in this moment, that he
- 16:25Speaker 2: could have protected her, really and he and he just didn't.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It's all about David. We see that it's fine. We're
- 16:32Speaker 2: moving on to the next day, and we see more
- 16:34Speaker 2: of Reese and Sophia. We see them grilling each other
- 16:37Speaker 2: about past relationships. It's you know, this feels lost for me, Heather.
- 16:43Speaker 4: You know, I don't know. They go on to be
- 16:45Speaker 4: on the plane.
- 16:46Speaker 3: It feels like they did something with them that we
- 16:48Speaker 3: didn't see, like they had to be quizzed in order
- 16:50Speaker 3: to get back on the boat.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I don't know. It just felt very rushed.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we see Spin the Bottle. I love how
- 17:02Speaker 2: reality shows like, if there's enough chaos, they need to
- 17:05Speaker 2: create more chaos, and this is what happened. Gabby tells
- 17:09Speaker 2: them that they're going to go upstairs to play Spin
- 17:11Speaker 2: the Bottle, but when they spin the bottle, the person
- 17:13Speaker 2: they land on and the person who spinned the bottle
- 17:16Speaker 2: have to answer a question.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I've never played spin the bottle this way really life.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Oh I played it when I was really young, Heather,
- 17:23Speaker 2: And when it landed on me and I had to
- 17:24Speaker 2: kiss a boy, I chickened out. I was like, absolutely not.
- 17:27Speaker 2: As soon as he stuck his tongue out, I was like,
- 17:28Speaker 2: that is not going in my mouth. I don't know
- 17:31Speaker 2: what kind of kissing you people do but not me.
- 17:33Speaker 4: But this was like.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Truth or dare but spinning a bottle, but like it
- 17:38Speaker 3: was like, it's.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Not spin the bottle.
- 17:41Speaker 2: There was also at a point where these people are
- 17:43Speaker 2: in relationships and they're locked in. It just felt really
- 17:46Speaker 2: weird because during the game, James makes a comment about
- 17:50Speaker 2: girl on girl action, LEXI doesn't love it. Come on,
- 17:53Speaker 2: James is twenty six. He jumped on the boat saying
- 17:55Speaker 2: how horny. He was like, I did I expect nothing
- 17:58Speaker 2: less from this cutie pie, and listen, I love James,
- 18:00Speaker 2: you know I do. I expect nothing less for him,
- 18:03Speaker 2: And so for LEXI to be upset, I kind of
- 18:05Speaker 2: was like, girl, come on, now, give him a free pass.
- 18:08Speaker 2: He's so far up heer ass, he has no room
- 18:11Speaker 2: for anyone else. It is what it is. Tim reenacts
- 18:16Speaker 2: a position on Leela and pulls her hair and Gia
- 18:20Speaker 2: doesn't like this. I kind of was like, okay, but
- 18:23Speaker 2: also when Gia got so upset, it just I don't know, Heather,
- 18:30Speaker 2: it was just bits that I just didn't need.
- 18:32Speaker 3: This was very Love Island esque, this whole situation. They
- 18:37Speaker 3: do this a lot on Love Island, where they're constantly
- 18:41Speaker 3: you know, people eventually couple up on the show, and
- 18:45Speaker 3: then they'll do challenges where they all have to like
- 18:48Speaker 3: kiss each other after and sometimes people will be like, oh,
- 18:53Speaker 3: I'm in a relationship now, like kiss me on the cheek,
- 18:56Speaker 3: and some of them will just still like go for it,
- 19:00Speaker 3: and their partner will be like that, like is disrespectful,
- 19:04Speaker 3: Like we're in a relationship now, and like then these
- 19:07Speaker 3: kinds of conversations and bickering happen. So this felt like
- 19:12Speaker 3: Love Island adjacent to me by doing this game or
- 19:15Speaker 3: whatever where we didn't really learn anything about anyone. Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 3: I would have liked to have seen at this point
- 19:25Speaker 3: in the show where people are like in their final couples.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Since we are supposed to be crowding the winner as
- 19:33Speaker 3: the strongest couple. I would have liked to have seen
- 19:36Speaker 3: a quiz element where it's very newlywed games like where
- 19:41Speaker 3: you ask these people the questions off camera and then
- 19:44Speaker 3: their partner has to reveal the answer that best matches
- 19:47Speaker 3: what their partner would have said. Those kinds of games
- 19:51Speaker 3: always one show who is strong, but also the ones
- 19:54Speaker 3: that have cracks in their foundation. That usually is a
- 19:58Speaker 3: very divisive game that may people upset when they get
- 20:01Speaker 3: things wrong, and we never had that, and maybe that
- 20:05Speaker 3: maybe production felt that was like a low hanging fruit
- 20:08Speaker 3: kind of game because it is played on a lot
- 20:11Speaker 3: of these kinds of shows. But I think that's what
- 20:15Speaker 3: was kind of missing, especially towards the end. For me
- 20:19Speaker 3: was the who knows their partner the best kind of element,
- 20:23Speaker 3: which I need in a dating show.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I think, yeah, yeah, totally. We see some drama come
- 20:32Speaker 2: from this. In the Happy Urgya confronts Tim about her
- 20:36Speaker 2: feelings over the game and asks him to be more mature.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Tim apologizes. I didn't love this spin the bottle, but
- 20:43Speaker 2: I love this moment between Tim and Gia because we
- 20:45Speaker 2: see a lot of maturity and we've said this in
- 20:48Speaker 2: previous episodes about how Tim very much admitted that he
- 20:51Speaker 2: was a boy when he came on the show, and
- 20:53Speaker 2: we see a lot of this is what I hope
- 20:57Speaker 2: to see for David, but I'm not getting that, so
- 20:59Speaker 2: I'll take it from Tim. We see a lot of
- 21:01Speaker 2: growth and maturity from Tim. We see him, you know,
- 21:06Speaker 2: face Gia and be really open to it and confront
- 21:10Speaker 2: her and acknowledge and apologize, and then we separately see
- 21:13Speaker 2: him in his little interview Heather tearing up and sharing
- 21:18Speaker 2: like he never wants to hurt this woman. I just was,
- 21:21Speaker 2: this is so stupid. I have cold shills right now, Like,
- 21:23Speaker 2: that's what I want to see. This is what we
- 21:25Speaker 2: all hope for. This is redemption in itself. This is
- 21:29Speaker 2: a man growing up and taking responsibility for his actions
- 21:33Speaker 2: and becoming a man. He genuinely cares about this woman,
- 21:37Speaker 2: and I think it was all in fun that he
- 21:39Speaker 2: did this, but he is not trying to go out
- 21:42Speaker 2: of his way and hurt this woman, and he handled
- 21:44Speaker 2: a situation properly how we want to see it.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 3: I really liked how he handled this as well. And
- 21:53Speaker 3: I thought that for Gia, who's like twenty three, what
- 21:58Speaker 3: an effective community. We've you know, had some people ask
- 22:02Speaker 3: me about their communication skills to others, and I was like,
- 22:06Speaker 3: this girl is very poised. She's not being mean spirited
- 22:11Speaker 3: when she is telling him about her hurt feelings, and
- 22:15Speaker 3: he is listening and receiving and they are having an
- 22:19Speaker 3: effective communicated problem and solution like coming out of this.
- 22:25Speaker 3: So I thought it was really cute. And then obviously
- 22:28Speaker 3: we see Lexi and James. Their conversation doesn't go as
- 22:32Speaker 3: smooth the first go around, but James quickly rebounds and
- 22:36Speaker 3: comes back.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I love them. I love them, Heather. They are little
- 22:40Speaker 2: cutie patuities, cutie patuities. I just want to like hold
- 22:44Speaker 2: them and take them to lunch and tell them just
- 22:47Speaker 2: how cute they are. I love them, I love them,
- 22:49Speaker 2: I love them, I love them.
- 22:52Speaker 4: All right.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Uh, we see Keith and Delaney kiss finally.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I don't know why that to go them.
- 23:00Speaker 2: We're gonna see more, but you know, it feels very
- 23:03Speaker 2: forced for me. Heather, It's fine, We're gonna get to
- 23:08Speaker 2: the two of them.
- 23:08Speaker 4: He also straddles her.
- 23:10Speaker 2: He does I saw this.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna bring it up because I thought that
- 23:15Speaker 2: I was the only one. I was like, something's wrong
- 23:17Speaker 2: with me. Clearly, Heather, something is wrong with me. But
- 23:20Speaker 2: in that moment when we are seeing that and he
- 23:22Speaker 2: straddles her, my immediately thought. I immediately thought in my
- 23:26Speaker 2: own head, I'm like, why is why is.
- 23:28Speaker 4: He's straddling her?
- 23:30Speaker 2: This feels very feminine for me.
- 23:33Speaker 4: She was like asking him, like what do you think
- 23:35Speaker 4: about me? Or something? He's like, does this show you
- 23:39Speaker 4: what I think about you?
- 23:40Speaker 2: And I was just like, we have to remember that
- 23:43Speaker 2: he's twenty three. He seems so mature because of his career,
- 23:48Speaker 2: and he doesn't drink, so we don't see a lot
- 23:50Speaker 2: of stupidity from him, but in certain moments where we
- 23:54Speaker 2: expect emotional maturity, it's not there. He's twenty three.
- 23:58Speaker 3: You make a good point. I actually completely forgot how
- 24:01Speaker 3: old he is.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's fine. Jake and Christine, these two I
- 24:06Speaker 2: am so they have great physical chemistry, but Christine wants
- 24:12Speaker 2: to see more there and all I'm getting is their
- 24:14Speaker 2: physical chemistry. Like the two of them were like ready
- 24:16Speaker 2: to get it on, like the second they led eyes
- 24:18Speaker 2: on each other. So you know what, they're having fun.
- 24:21Speaker 2: We'll let them have fun, all right, The next day,
- 24:24Speaker 2: Gabby announces the next challenge that it's for couples. Everyone
- 24:28Speaker 2: has twenty minutes to couple up. We end up with
- 24:32Speaker 2: Andrew and Enna. They're still together that deep friend connection.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Shade and Bradley couple up, friend connection, and then all
- 24:39Speaker 2: of the other couples they remain the same. Heather untouched.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I want to know if you have noticed at this
- 24:47Speaker 2: point we haven't seen our one lonely guy. We talked
- 24:50Speaker 2: about it in our last episode, Heather, how he has
- 24:52Speaker 2: just fallen to the wayside at this point, even with
- 24:57Speaker 2: this warning from Gabby that they have twenty minutes to
- 24:59Speaker 2: couple up, he's nowhere to be found.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 3: My guess is because he also doesn't like look extremely
- 25:06Speaker 3: happy when he is on camera, So my.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Guess is that he is A guess is that he
- 25:14Speaker 4: was not happy when he got on board, being whether.
- 25:18Speaker 3: It was that he was a late comer or that
- 25:20Speaker 3: like the girls weren't his type or whatever whatever. But
- 25:24Speaker 3: I think he was just not down to play ball
- 25:27Speaker 3: like an Enna or an Andrew who wasn't making a
- 25:30Speaker 3: romantic connection. And I think that he probably seemed grumpy
- 25:35Speaker 3: and they were probably like we got other people that
- 25:38Speaker 3: we can focus on and we're just not going to
- 25:40Speaker 3: talk to you or ask you to come into the
- 25:43Speaker 3: interview chair at all. Because he also doesn't seem to
- 25:46Speaker 3: have a sense of humor about the experience, and that's
- 25:51Speaker 3: kind of just again, when you go on these shows,
- 25:54Speaker 3: it is unlikely that you're going to find long lasting love.
- 25:58Speaker 3: What it is more likely is that you're going to
- 26:00Speaker 3: make friends and that you're going to have a good time,
- 26:02Speaker 3: and that you're going to do crazy experiences. But if
- 26:05Speaker 3: you come in thinking that you're going to go to
- 26:09Speaker 3: Poundtown or something every single night everybody's really hot, and
- 26:12Speaker 3: then that's not happening because you're sleeping in a twin
- 26:14Speaker 3: bunk bed down, they're sorely disappointed.
- 26:16Speaker 4: You're going to be upset. So especially people too.
- 26:21Speaker 3: For a lot of these shows, as it probably is
- 26:23Speaker 3: very obvious, a lot of these people we go after
- 26:27Speaker 3: for other shows, so they have kind of like sometimes
- 26:31Speaker 3: the pick of like what show they want to go
- 26:33Speaker 3: on because they've been approached by so many.
- 26:35Speaker 4: So if this guy has been like holding out to go.
- 26:37Speaker 3: On a dating show and he finally agrees to go
- 26:40Speaker 3: on one, and then this is his experience, is that
- 26:43Speaker 3: he doesn't like think anybody's hot or he doesn't have
- 26:46Speaker 3: a connection, then yeah, he's probably bummed.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well, well we saw that. Yeah, it's fine. Gabby
- 26:54Speaker 2: says that they have nine couples, but there is only
- 26:56Speaker 2: room for five of the couples on the top side.
- 26:59Speaker 2: At this there is no more downside, which, like everyone
- 27:02Speaker 2: seems really thrilled about. All the couples will vote on
- 27:06Speaker 2: who gets to stay. The four couples with the least
- 27:09Speaker 2: amount of votes will be going overboard. Listen, at this point,
- 27:14Speaker 2: I am ready to clean house. I'm ready to clean ship.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Let's send a few overboard. Let's really dial it in
- 27:19Speaker 2: so I'm here for it. Let's run on over to
- 27:32Speaker 2: episode eight. The episode opens with the couple's Court, where
- 27:36Speaker 2: the cast members have to plead as to why they
- 27:39Speaker 2: should stay on the yacht before they cast their votes.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Four couples will be going overboard today. We could rush
- 27:46Speaker 2: this a little bit, Heather, and there was a lot
- 27:49Speaker 2: of nonsense here that I just didn't need. At the
- 27:52Speaker 2: couple's Court, Reese thinks he and Sophia have a target
- 27:55Speaker 2: on their backs because they came in late. Reese, you
- 27:58Speaker 2: do so exactly. I don't think anybody really cared for
- 28:02Speaker 2: Reese and Sophia anyway, But it just at this point,
- 28:06Speaker 2: so many of those people have deep connections and deep
- 28:08Speaker 2: friendships that like Reese and Sofia, just didn't stand a chance.
- 28:12Speaker 2: That's just the way it is. Shade uses her chance
- 28:16Speaker 2: to speak up to say that she's leaving the yacht
- 28:18Speaker 2: because she didn't meet her person. I have nothing but
- 28:21Speaker 2: respect for someone who can just see their way out.
- 28:23Speaker 2: We saw Bella do it, now we see Shade like,
- 28:26Speaker 2: please send me. I don't need to, I'll just jump in.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It's fine. Lexi says that she and James have been
- 28:32Speaker 2: together the longest, so they deserve to stay. I'm here
- 28:34Speaker 2: for it, Lexi. I'm with you, girl. Delaney tells everyone
- 28:38Speaker 2: that she and Keith kissed for the first time last night.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Hurrah right. Christine gets emotional, saying how good Jake makes
- 28:47Speaker 2: her feel.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Oh, Heather, I don't see it, but okay, I.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Don't see it either, but like, I'm here for love,
- 28:55Speaker 2: you know, Yeah, let's yeah. Nna says that she and
- 28:58Speaker 2: Andrew have a strong rel life relationship, and the others
- 29:01Speaker 2: point out that they are just friends. So listen, I
- 29:04Speaker 2: give an a the Emmy here for her speech, yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 2: for her role, for how solid she plays this part.
- 29:15Speaker 2: But the others are right. They actually have like a
- 29:17Speaker 2: true connection. They are dating, and why would we keep
- 29:21Speaker 2: at Andrew. They're just friends, they're here for vacation for
- 29:24Speaker 2: the summer. It doesn't make any.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Sense exactly, and a babe, you didn't have a chance
- 29:29Speaker 3: with this one. And it's funny because she tries to
- 29:32Speaker 3: like poke holes in like everybody else's relationship and say
- 29:36Speaker 3: why their friendship is so strong, and it's like, Okay,
- 29:40Speaker 3: you're having fun, Like stop this is this is not real.
- 29:44Speaker 3: But it's David when he says that he and Val
- 29:47Speaker 3: have gone through the biggest real world struggles, which means
- 29:51Speaker 3: they can make it.
- 29:52Speaker 4: On the outside.
- 29:53Speaker 3: And then David calls out Kari and says he doesn't
- 29:57Speaker 3: see Kari and Leila working out and that they look
- 30:01Speaker 3: fake and he tells Krai he deserves better.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I don't understand this. I'm like I for those listening,
- 30:09Speaker 2: I am so uncomfortable right now, I'm starting to sweat.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I don't understand this ploy Like is David are we
- 30:16Speaker 2: just seeing him unravel? Like what is happening? Why is
- 30:19Speaker 2: he starting to pick apart, and obviously we can't see
- 30:22Speaker 2: everything that goes on on the yacht.
- 30:24Speaker 4: But he doesn't like Leila.
- 30:26Speaker 3: She's the one that has had the biggest mouth and
- 30:29Speaker 3: about him, and he just literally knows that Karai is
- 30:33Speaker 3: like not going to be like an alpha male with him.
- 30:37Speaker 3: So he's like, yeah, Leila, you suck is essentially because
- 30:41Speaker 3: she's and we get all the flashbacks.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Of Leela being like, David, you're a dick. David sent
- 30:46Speaker 4: your girlfriend overboard? What's wrong with you?
- 30:49Speaker 3: And Lena is like twenty one years old, she you
- 30:52Speaker 3: know what I mean? And like David's what thirty? So yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 3: he got talked down to by a much younger than
- 31:01Speaker 3: him and he didn't like that. And here he is
- 31:03Speaker 3: trying to like stand on his soapbox. But because that
- 31:06Speaker 3: was mean to be like kry, you deserve better. It's like, bro,
- 31:12Speaker 3: you actually should just be silent. You should like to
- 31:15Speaker 3: be saying anything right now. And again, this is where
- 31:17Speaker 3: I go back to David just through these last few episodes,
- 31:21Speaker 3: continues to dig himself into a deeper hole instead of
- 31:28Speaker 3: turning the boat around and like changing his ways. This
- 31:33Speaker 3: is real, David, This is I think David really is
- 31:36Speaker 3: in this moment, like spiteful says things like out of
- 31:43Speaker 3: anger is what I feel like in probably situations, and
- 31:47Speaker 3: evades telling the truth when given the opportunity.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe that there have been more than one
- 31:53Speaker 2: opportunity for redemption. Story for David, there has been more
- 31:56Speaker 2: than one opportunity for redemption. And we hear it's it
- 32:00Speaker 2: just doesn't happen. It doesn't happen, Heather. Everyone votes the
- 32:05Speaker 2: five couples. Everyone votes for the five couples that they
- 32:07Speaker 2: want to stay on board, and then there's a plank ceremony.
- 32:11Speaker 3: I loved Gabby's look in this. This is the one
- 32:13Speaker 3: where she was wearing was like off the shoulder and
- 32:16Speaker 3: it was all sparkles, and then she had her hair
- 32:19Speaker 3: tied back in a really tight bun. I was just like,
- 32:22Speaker 3: Gabby has the most milky, beautiful skin. And then just
- 32:28Speaker 3: in the sparkles, I was like, she's so pretty. I
- 32:32Speaker 3: just think that Goddy's so pretty.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I had the same thoughts as you. We must be
- 32:36Speaker 2: cut from the same cloth, because when she was standing there,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I thought, this is the best that she has looked
- 32:40Speaker 2: the entire show. This is the most gorgeously stunning look
- 32:45Speaker 2: for her. I was right there with you, and I
- 32:47Speaker 2: had the same thoughts possible.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Well, we get this plank ceremony started, and Bradley, because
- 32:52Speaker 3: Shade has already left, has nobody, So that means Bradley's
- 32:56Speaker 3: got to walk the plank and he just gladly just
- 33:00Speaker 3: box it like there's nothing else to do. And then
- 33:03Speaker 3: each couple has to walk the plank and either they
- 33:06Speaker 3: go overboard or they find out if they're going to
- 33:08Speaker 3: the top side. So first is Tim and Gea top side,
- 33:13Speaker 3: Reese and Sophia overboard.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Duh, shocker shocker.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Lexi and James top side, and Keith top side. I
- 33:23Speaker 3: think everybody was kind of a little surprised by that one.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Enna and Andrew overboard, Christine and Jake top side.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Mm hmmm, interesting choice there.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Yeah, this is where it got really interesting. Krai and
- 33:37Speaker 3: Leela overboard. Now it was we only had Kari, Leela,
- 33:43Speaker 3: David and val left, and so the second that they
- 33:46Speaker 3: called Leela and Kry down and David and Vow were
- 33:51Speaker 3: left to watch. I knew that Leela and Kari were
- 33:55Speaker 3: going overboard because you would never because we knew it
- 34:00Speaker 3: had to be one of them. You never have one
- 34:04Speaker 3: couple stay, you wouldn't have the second to last one
- 34:08Speaker 3: stay and then be like, Okay, that means you have
- 34:11Speaker 3: to walk down now and go overboard, like it would
- 34:13Speaker 3: have spoiled that. So if you're just paying attention to
- 34:16Speaker 3: those kinds of things, you would know how it's going
- 34:19Speaker 3: to play out. So Kry and Leela overboard, which means
- 34:23Speaker 3: David and Val are top side, which everybody is extremely
- 34:27Speaker 3: shocked by this. In the top side when they are
- 34:30Speaker 3: assuming that Leela and Carry are going to come and
- 34:33Speaker 3: they see Val and David turn the corner, So that
- 34:36Speaker 3: is a little bit of another twist that David has
- 34:41Speaker 3: nine lives somehow in this.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I expected nothing less. If they sent David and Vale home,
- 34:46Speaker 2: I might have stopped watching the show because at this
- 34:49Speaker 2: point I'm living for it, you know what I mean.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I'm so happy for my friends Tim and Gia and
- 34:54Speaker 2: Lexi and James. I'm so happy for my friends, but
- 34:57Speaker 2: like I am living for what's going to what's going
- 35:00Speaker 2: to happen between David, Val and Low, the whole saga.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I'm not done with it. I need more.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Well, and we're clearly not done because then Gabby says
- 35:09Speaker 3: that she has a treat for the top five couples
- 35:11Speaker 3: and that they're going to go off the boat for
- 35:13Speaker 3: a full day exploring Malta and then a chance to
- 35:17Speaker 3: explore the relationships because they're going to spend individual one
- 35:20Speaker 3: on one overnight dates on land. And this is when
- 35:25Speaker 3: we get to see Keith and Delaney go on a
- 35:28Speaker 3: little romantic boat rider what should have been romantic that
- 35:32Speaker 3: they immediately start talking about marital roles and Keith is
- 35:38Speaker 3: looking for a traditional marriage with a woman that raises
- 35:42Speaker 3: his children. The Laney is a working model.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Did you hear him? My skin crawled when I heard
- 35:51Speaker 2: him say to take care of his children. That rubbed
- 35:56Speaker 2: me the wrong way on so many levels. He's literally
- 35:59Speaker 2: looking a woman who is a model, who is a
- 36:02Speaker 2: working model, who I just the generational roles that he
- 36:09Speaker 2: laid out right then and there for everyone to hear
- 36:12Speaker 2: and see.
- 36:13Speaker 4: I was rubbed the wrong way. Heather for me, you.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Know, I will stand by that being a mom is
- 36:22Speaker 3: the hardest job that you'll ever do, even though I'm
- 36:26Speaker 3: not a mother, But it's the job right that doesn't
- 36:29Speaker 3: have set hours, it's never and you have to do
- 36:32Speaker 3: it when you're sick, when you.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Got a full schedule, whatever you have.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I think that being a mom is the hardest job ever,
- 36:38Speaker 3: and I think that stay at home moms, you know,
- 36:42Speaker 3: are hardworking individuals, and women that are moms that are
- 36:45Speaker 3: working and raising their children are hardworking individuals. So I
- 36:50Speaker 3: don't think that there's anything wrong in aspiring to have
- 36:55Speaker 3: traditional roles in your household if that is what you want.
- 36:59Speaker 3: What I don't like is when he said things like
- 37:06Speaker 3: when you're with me, you represent Those kinds of things
- 37:12Speaker 3: started to rub me the wrong way because because it
- 37:15Speaker 3: implies that being a model is a poor representation of him,
- 37:21Speaker 3: and a woman traveling or going to working events alone
- 37:26Speaker 3: without him is not a positive representation of him. That's
- 37:32Speaker 3: how it was coming out, because you know, if he
- 37:35Speaker 3: said more than that, we didn't get to see it, unfortunately,
- 37:38Speaker 3: so that's kind of all we have to go on.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I appreciate him in the sense that he has a
- 37:45Speaker 3: strong vision of what he wants for himself and his life.
- 37:50Speaker 3: My only thing that I would say to Keith is
- 37:53Speaker 3: that having morals and values in common with your partner
- 37:58Speaker 3: is extremely important. But having a narrow view of what
- 38:03Speaker 3: your future can look like, I think can be a problem.
- 38:07Speaker 3: How you make your future with your partner can be
- 38:10Speaker 3: individualistic to you. And I think that this is where
- 38:14Speaker 3: his young age really kind of shows through, because if
- 38:18Speaker 3: you haven't been exposed a lot to women that have,
- 38:23Speaker 3: you know, huge careers but are still present mothers, or
- 38:27Speaker 3: women that have jobs where they travel a lot but
- 38:30Speaker 3: are still able to be present partners for their husbands
- 38:33Speaker 3: and be supportive, then you don't.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Know that that exists.
- 38:36Speaker 3: But you shouldn't be putting people in boxes and really
- 38:41Speaker 3: should be focusing on I think at this point the
- 38:44Speaker 3: connection and do I like this person? Am I communicating
- 38:49Speaker 3: well with this person?
- 38:50Speaker 4: Is their attraction? Is there?
- 38:53Speaker 3: You know, a connection on whether it be faith or
- 38:56Speaker 3: family or whatnot, and then you work those other things
- 39:00Speaker 3: out the further you get into a relationship.
- 39:03Speaker 4: I think it's like worderline, crazy to be about. But
- 39:08Speaker 4: you are we expecting sanity, Heather.
- 39:11Speaker 3: That you want a woman that like will raise your children,
- 39:14Speaker 3: That's great, you can aspire to want that. I think
- 39:17Speaker 3: it's a very strange thing to put on somebody that
- 39:21Speaker 3: you probably don't know their last name at this point,
- 39:24Speaker 3: like those are I would have approached that conversation and
- 39:28Speaker 3: been like, you know, what in my ideal world, I
- 39:30Speaker 3: would love to have a woman that you know, stays
- 39:33Speaker 3: home and has you know, full you know, uh rearing
- 39:39Speaker 3: of our children. That would be my ideal world. But
- 39:43Speaker 3: you telling me that your career is really important to
- 39:46Speaker 3: you and fulfills you. I think that's amazing. So maybe
- 39:49Speaker 3: that's like, you know, something that we put on the
- 39:53Speaker 3: table now and we talk about further on down in
- 39:55Speaker 3: our relationship when we see ourselves moving in that direction,
- 39:59Speaker 3: you know, it's like as much. And I love the
- 40:02Speaker 3: fact that Delaney thinks and values her career so much.
- 40:06Speaker 4: I think that's amazing.
- 40:07Speaker 3: But I think any model will probably tell you that
- 40:09Speaker 3: they don't model for forever. So that's a job that
- 40:13Speaker 3: does have a transitional period a lot of time. Now
- 40:18Speaker 3: are am I not saying that people you know become
- 40:21Speaker 3: senior citizen models and like do model? Of course they do.
- 40:25Speaker 3: There is a market for everything. But I think you'd
- 40:28Speaker 3: be hard pressed to find somebody who was a model
- 40:31Speaker 3: in their twenties all the way through to their sixties
- 40:34Speaker 3: and seventies. It's not usually that kind of a career
- 40:37Speaker 3: for most people.
- 40:38Speaker 2: You said it perfectly the whole time that you were talking.
- 40:40Speaker 2: I was literally thinking like you're putting so much in
- 40:42Speaker 2: a box, but the other pieces where you're taking two
- 40:44Speaker 2: young adults, keep in particular at twenty three years old,
- 40:48Speaker 2: and asking them to figure out the rest of their lives,
- 40:51Speaker 2: Like there is so much of me that I just
- 40:54Speaker 2: want to take these people and shake them and be like,
- 40:55Speaker 2: you have your whole life. You have your whole life.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Your twenties are meant for living. And if she has
- 41:01Speaker 2: a lucrative modeling career, milk that right now while you can,
- 41:05Speaker 2: and you figure out the rest. You know, we you
- 41:08Speaker 2: and I Heather are old enough to know that we
- 41:09Speaker 2: are not the same person that we were in our twenties,
- 41:12Speaker 2: and I live mine to the fullest, you know, But
- 41:15Speaker 2: there is so much of this watching them that you
- 41:17Speaker 2: just want to be like, oh man, you have your
- 41:18Speaker 2: whole life to like settle and settle down. Not settle,
- 41:22Speaker 2: but settle down and live out the rest of your dreams,
- 41:26Speaker 2: like live right now, live while you can, and not to.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Be morbid or anything. But like Keith, you work in
- 41:34Speaker 3: a line an industry that is extremely demanding and also
- 41:38Speaker 3: is prone to accidents or things to happen. Let's say
- 41:42Speaker 3: you get injured on the job. Wouldn't you like that
- 41:47Speaker 3: fact and security of knowing that my wife also makes
- 41:51Speaker 3: additional income, so you know, I am able to heal
- 41:55Speaker 3: and do things. And that's part of those valves, right
- 41:58Speaker 3: that people take when they're married up in sickness and
- 42:00Speaker 3: in health, Like you are going to have periods in
- 42:03Speaker 3: your life and your relationship most likely where you are
- 42:07Speaker 3: sick and your partner has to take on more of
- 42:09Speaker 3: a load or vice versa. And so that would be
- 42:13Speaker 3: a nice thing to consider. Or as beautiful as children
- 42:17Speaker 3: are and wanting to, you know, expand a family, you
- 42:21Speaker 3: have to take into consideration that not everybody is able
- 42:23Speaker 3: to actually do that. Not every person is blessed with
- 42:26Speaker 3: the ability to have children. So then what does that
- 42:30Speaker 3: situation look like? So I think that it's a wonderful
- 42:33Speaker 3: thing to daydream and plan and want something for a future.
- 42:37Speaker 3: But what's the saying we plan and god laughs, I mean,
- 42:43Speaker 3: it's it's just something to consider. Keif I would not
- 42:46Speaker 3: be throwing people out of our lives this early on.
- 42:51Speaker 3: But we see this kind of unravel because Keith has
- 42:55Speaker 3: such strong convictions, it does start to kind of raise
- 42:58Speaker 3: some red flags for Delaney, who is in this period
- 43:03Speaker 3: of her life where her career is growing and she's
- 43:05Speaker 3: taking advantage of that, and she's enjoying what's happening in
- 43:08Speaker 3: her life, and she's not necessarily ready to settle down.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I just have one more note, Heather, of something coming
- 43:14Speaker 2: from a woman who I never wanted to be a
- 43:15Speaker 2: stay at home mom. I struggled in that moment because
- 43:18Speaker 2: I never saw Keith ask Delaney what she wanted. It
- 43:21Speaker 2: was all about what he wanted. You were either going
- 43:24Speaker 2: to fit what he was looking for, and maybe they
- 43:27Speaker 2: didn't didn't. We didn't get to see it, but we
- 43:29Speaker 2: are not shown that. He asks her, what is it
- 43:33Speaker 2: that you want? Do you even want to be a
- 43:35Speaker 2: stay at home mom? Do you want to give up
- 43:38Speaker 2: your career? Would you like to move out to where's
- 43:40Speaker 2: it from? South Dakota? Where's it from?
- 43:42Speaker 4: Do you want?
- 43:43Speaker 2: He lives in a town of two hundred people like
- 43:45Speaker 2: do you want that? We only hear his wants, and
- 43:48Speaker 2: sometimes men without that emotional maturity cannot think past what
- 43:53Speaker 2: it is that they want.
- 43:57Speaker 3: It might not even be emotional maturity. I mean, it
- 44:03Speaker 3: might just be that's his value. You know. There there
- 44:06Speaker 3: are certain people out there who think that the man
- 44:11Speaker 3: is the head of the household and this is how
- 44:14Speaker 3: it goes.
- 44:15Speaker 2: And and.
- 44:17Speaker 3: You and I aren't saying if that's wrong or right.
- 44:19Speaker 3: We're saying that that's not necessarily the lives for us, but.
- 44:23Speaker 4: That works for some people.
- 44:24Speaker 3: And there's part of me that is, like, you know,
- 44:27Speaker 3: I'm glad that he has a vision of what he
- 44:30Speaker 3: wants and is speaking it. But what I would say
- 44:38Speaker 3: is Keith not to be so boxed in, because also
- 44:42Speaker 3: life happens, things change, experiences changes, circumstances change, and you
- 44:48Speaker 3: have to pivot. And what you really want is a
- 44:52Speaker 3: partner that is supportive and is able to pivot with
- 44:56Speaker 3: you in those moments. Life is not black and white,
- 45:00Speaker 3: and we actually don't know what's going to happen to
- 45:03Speaker 3: any of us. And we can plan and you know,
- 45:07Speaker 3: dream as much as we want, but at the end
- 45:09Speaker 3: of the day, we're not in control of a lot
- 45:12Speaker 3: of things. And so I just I hope that Keith
- 45:17Speaker 3: gets what he wants in life, and I hope Delaney
- 45:20Speaker 3: gets what she wants in life. But it felt like,
- 45:23Speaker 3: because they're in this very pressure cooker situation, they were
- 45:28Speaker 3: forced to have these kinds of conversations I think way
- 45:32Speaker 3: earlier than anybody naturally that had known each other as
- 45:35Speaker 3: long as they had would be having.
- 45:48Speaker 2: All right, we move on to Tim and Gia's date.
- 45:50Speaker 2: These two little kutie pies are in it to win it.
- 45:52Speaker 2: They're in it for the long haul, and nothing makes
- 45:54Speaker 2: me happier. They have their tea leaves Red. Have you
- 45:58Speaker 2: ever done this? Oather Off? Never done this? But listen,
- 46:02Speaker 2: we see that their tea future says that they will
- 46:05Speaker 2: have kids. And you know what I love is that
- 46:09Speaker 2: the two of them, they're on board. We see a
- 46:13Speaker 2: lot of just like them on the same page. And
- 46:18Speaker 2: everyone loves a good happy ending. So I'm hook line
- 46:21Speaker 2: and syncro. I'm down for it.
- 46:24Speaker 4: David and Val.
- 46:26Speaker 2: David thinks that he and Val have a good shot
- 46:28Speaker 2: in the real world. Vow says she trusts David. I
- 46:33Speaker 2: am very confused by this given the situation. And again
- 46:37Speaker 2: I from the get we have said there is no
- 46:40Speaker 2: slut shaming, but you have to take relationships from what
- 46:42Speaker 2: they are and how their relationships started, and.
- 46:45Speaker 3: It started in a trauma bond, So that's why she
- 46:48Speaker 3: trusts him. They started in a trauma bond of the
- 46:52Speaker 3: entire boats against us so she has nobody else to
- 46:57Speaker 3: turn to other than the shipwreckord that she came in with,
- 47:00Speaker 3: which is Christine. She is not fully connected to anybody else,
- 47:03Speaker 3: so that is why she has built this quote unquote
- 47:06Speaker 3: trust with David. It's them against the boat.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Yeah, here come my little cutie pies, James and Lexi.
- 47:14Speaker 2: I don't know why I love them. I just theyre
- 47:16Speaker 2: my I like love them, my little babies. James has
- 47:20Speaker 2: known Lexi was his person since they met. Lexi says
- 47:24Speaker 2: she loves him in an interview and then catches herself.
- 47:27Speaker 4: That was funny. I loved it because you.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Know how you're just like overwhelmed with feelings sometimes and
- 47:32Speaker 2: sometimes it slips out, but then you think, oh my
- 47:34Speaker 2: god immediately, I don't want to be that crazy bitch.
- 47:36Speaker 2: This is not love like I'm infatuated right now. This
- 47:38Speaker 2: is obsessive thinking, you know what I mean. But I
- 47:40Speaker 2: love it because in that moment we saw such a
- 47:43Speaker 2: normal woman speaking in that interview. I loved it.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Heather, you know better than anyone being on the other
- 47:49Speaker 3: side of this experience, how much these producers are grilling you,
- 47:53Speaker 3: How are you feeling, are you falling?
- 47:55Speaker 4: What's going on? In your head right now? Did it?
- 47:57Speaker 3: They ask you so many different ways hoping that you
- 48:01Speaker 3: will have a slip up like she did on camera,
- 48:03Speaker 3: and yeah, that was absolutely hilarious when her eyes were
- 48:07Speaker 3: like whoa, that just sounded crazy. Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Sorry. Immediately was like slow down, girl, and she catches herself,
- 48:14Speaker 2: her eyes, every bit of it when she thinks, oh,
- 48:17Speaker 2: I love I said the OL word. That's not what
- 48:18Speaker 2: I mean. That's crazy. We're all crazy.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Everything's crazy, but everybody's feeling the love in this episode,
- 48:24Speaker 3: it is the word is getting thrown out there.
- 48:27Speaker 4: A lot, a lot.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 3: So then they go to their hotel rooms and that's
- 48:34Speaker 3: when Tim tells Gia he's starting to fall in love
- 48:37Speaker 3: with her, and Gia reciprocates this, and then we see
- 48:42Speaker 3: James tell Lexi he's in love with her, and she goes,
- 48:46Speaker 3: I love you too, and it's just like, oh, it's
- 48:49Speaker 3: so much love.
- 48:49Speaker 4: It's so much love.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Love blah blah blah love love love love love love.
- 48:52Speaker 3: But then everybody is hanging out in their rooms and
- 48:56Speaker 3: they get knocks on their doors and they go and answer,
- 49:00Speaker 3: and that's when they're surprised, and Gia is surprised by
- 49:02Speaker 3: her twin brother, and then val Christine, Delaney, and Lexi
- 49:07Speaker 3: are all surprised by their best friends, and this is
- 49:11Speaker 3: very much reminiscent Right of Hometowns or you know, Prime Visit,
- 49:17Speaker 3: not The Bachelor.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, this feels very Bachelor for me.
- 49:22Speaker 2: This feels very Bachelor bachelorette. Bring in the family, let
- 49:25Speaker 2: them girl the person, let them try to tell the
- 49:27Speaker 2: one this is not whatever.
- 49:29Speaker 4: It felt very Bachelor for me. They do this on
- 49:31Speaker 4: Love Island too.
- 49:32Speaker 3: At the very end, they have them show up to
- 49:36Speaker 3: the villa as well and surprise them, and then the
- 49:39Speaker 3: villa they don't they don't know what day it is.
- 49:42Speaker 3: They've been there for so long at this pointy that
- 49:45Speaker 3: they are just like completely confused. It's like thirty days
- 49:48Speaker 3: in And then their family shows up randomly at the villa,
- 49:52Speaker 3: so everybody's like emotional and excited, and then you know,
- 49:56Speaker 3: these friends and Gia's brother are really the to kind
- 50:01Speaker 3: of grill the guys and see how they're feeling, and
- 50:05Speaker 3: we get Lexi. Her friend is shocked that Lexi and
- 50:11Speaker 3: James are in love, and James talks to the friend
- 50:15Speaker 3: about how he kind of loves the way Lexi and
- 50:18Speaker 3: him have approached conflict so far that they have faced,
- 50:22Speaker 3: and her friend really likes how James talks to Lexi,
- 50:25Speaker 3: so that's a sweet little moment. Christine's friend calls Jake
- 50:30Speaker 3: very suave in the way talks, and then she asks him,
- 50:35Speaker 3: She asks Christine if she's digmatized, which is so funny
- 50:39Speaker 3: because this is just a very funny term.
- 50:42Speaker 4: I love that they gave the definition of it. I
- 50:45Speaker 4: love that Ether. I was so glad that you said that.
- 50:47Speaker 4: I love it.
- 50:48Speaker 2: On screen, they literally give the definition, and I just thought,
- 50:52Speaker 2: for us old ladies, you know what I mean, for
- 50:54Speaker 2: me to be schooled, that was really great.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Well, I think it's so funny because this is a
- 50:58Speaker 3: term that I have used many times on dating shows
- 51:02Speaker 3: when we talk about girls past and you know history,
- 51:06Speaker 3: and you know, if somebody on this cast was digmatized
- 51:09Speaker 3: at all thus far, I would say it was low
- 51:12Speaker 3: first and foremost and absolutely, and then it was Christine
- 51:16Speaker 3: probably in this situation. So Christine's friend said she wants
- 51:21Speaker 3: to see more of Jake and thinks he's like a
- 51:24Speaker 3: bit of a smooth talker, so she kind of you know,
- 51:27Speaker 3: and also, let's be frank Jake is twenty three years old,
- 51:30Speaker 3: so her friend's red flags are growing up. VAL's friend
- 51:36Speaker 3: so VAL's friend and David. David tells the friend that
- 51:39Speaker 3: he had to make a big decision when choosing Val,
- 51:42Speaker 3: and David says his last relationship ended.
- 51:46Speaker 4: With trust issues.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Okay, so this goes back to what I said before
- 51:49Speaker 3: where he kind of glazed over this very quickly and.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Help we get it.
- 51:53Speaker 3: But he told on himself, and so now we find
- 51:56Speaker 3: out that he has cheated in a previous relationship, and
- 52:01Speaker 3: this is like concerning to VAL's friend. We find out
- 52:03Speaker 3: later it's not concerning de Val because Val has also.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Cheated in a previous personship. So again it's very.
- 52:13Speaker 3: Trauma bonding to people kind of mirroring each other in
- 52:17Speaker 3: this situation, which I personally think too much of the
- 52:21Speaker 3: same is never a good idea. I think that you
- 52:25Speaker 3: want to have differences in your relationships and differences in personalities,
- 52:29Speaker 3: which is why I think that like low in Him
- 52:32Speaker 3: were interesting to look at and watch from Afar because
- 52:36Speaker 3: they were different. But I think David is used to
- 52:41Speaker 3: being with people that kind of move through life and
- 52:43Speaker 3: approach relationships and sexual interactions. Maybe is similar to him,
- 52:49Speaker 3: and I think that that's why he's drawn initially to.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Val is because she is moving.
- 52:54Speaker 2: They're on the same level. You're on the same level.
- 52:57Speaker 3: She's moving through things the same way as him. Gia's brother,
- 53:02Speaker 3: who's adorable by the way, I mean those little glasses,
- 53:05Speaker 3: like he was so cute. He asks Tim uh why
- 53:11Speaker 3: Tim came uh to find love, and Tim says after
- 53:16Speaker 3: one conversation with Gia, he knew it was her, and
- 53:21Speaker 3: the brother continues to grill him with questions, and then
- 53:24Speaker 3: at the end he tells Gia like he isn't.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Sure Tim is her.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Person, but he's like here for it, like if she
- 53:32Speaker 3: if she's like into it and having fun, then he's
- 53:34Speaker 3: like great, Like do you free for all?
- 53:37Speaker 4: Yeah? Free for all?
- 53:38Speaker 3: And then Delaney's friend you know, is talking with Keith
- 53:43Speaker 3: and Keith makes a weird sarcastic joke about Delaney not
- 53:48Speaker 3: being funny, which doesn't land. It is very awkward, and
- 53:54Speaker 3: her friend says Keith doesn't look like Delaney's type and
- 53:57Speaker 3: she doesn't think a twenty three year old is ready
- 53:59Speaker 3: to set down. I'll go against the grain on the
- 54:03Speaker 3: ready to settle down thing, just because clearly Keith is
- 54:08Speaker 3: you know, very into street and narrow, and so I
- 54:14Speaker 3: think that there's plenty of, you know, young people in
- 54:17Speaker 3: the South and in different communities that do settle down
- 54:20Speaker 3: at a young age and it worked for them. So
- 54:23Speaker 3: I wouldn't say he's not ready to settle down. But
- 54:26Speaker 3: her friend probably knows where her type is, you know,
- 54:28Speaker 3: and is being honest with that.
- 54:30Speaker 2: I'm wondering though, in this conversation. I loved Delaney's best
- 54:34Speaker 2: friend and how she showed up for her friend, But
- 54:37Speaker 2: did you notice when she asked Keith, what do you
- 54:39Speaker 2: like about her? And he was like, well, she's beautiful.
- 54:43Speaker 2: She's not funny, but she's beautiful. Did you notice? I mean,
- 54:48Speaker 2: and I don't know if I'm just hyper aware because
- 54:50Speaker 2: of who I am, But he doesn't say anything about
- 54:56Speaker 2: her like core about her as a per Yeah, and
- 55:00Speaker 2: not that he would. They've known each other what forty
- 55:02Speaker 2: eight hours, but to me that would have been a
- 55:06Speaker 2: red flag. She's asking him for honesty, like why he
- 55:09Speaker 2: couldn't even even brush the surface and been like, well,
- 55:12Speaker 2: she's super kind, she's very intentional, she's you know, even
- 55:16Speaker 2: if he needed to just fluff it a little bit.
- 55:18Speaker 2: But he doesn't. He doesn't. He talks about her beauty,
- 55:21Speaker 2: and she is, she's a model girl, knows she's beautiful,
- 55:24Speaker 2: but he doesn't give any other substantial evidence to show
- 55:28Speaker 2: that he even knows who this girl is on a
- 55:31Speaker 2: deeper level.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you make a good point. I'm going to go
- 55:35Speaker 3: out on a limb and say that was an editing trick. Okay, personally,
- 55:39Speaker 3: because we've seen him being very conversational when it came
- 55:43Speaker 3: to his interviews about what he had to say and
- 55:46Speaker 3: think about Shade, so I think he's capable of communicating.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Maybe he didn't in that moment, and maybe you're correct,
- 55:55Speaker 3: but I feel like the editing was done with them
- 55:58Speaker 3: specifically in this episode to really drive home the point
- 56:02Speaker 3: that they are not compatible, and they already do that,
- 56:05Speaker 3: I think in any way that they can, which means
- 56:07Speaker 3: including the weird joke, which means including any moment of
- 56:11Speaker 3: tension between them. He is also a man of few words, though,
- 56:15Speaker 3: so you could very well be right, But I think
- 56:18Speaker 3: the friend said it best in the sense that their
- 56:20Speaker 3: lifestyles don't mesh. And you say that like Delaney has
- 56:24Speaker 3: in the past like dimmed her light essentially in relationships,
- 56:28Speaker 3: and like she doesn't want to see her like do
- 56:30Speaker 3: that again. So I think the friend is on the money,
- 56:35Speaker 3: and I think that that was Those were clearly the
- 56:37Speaker 3: little voices in Delaney's head that she was subduing.
- 56:42Speaker 2: He was already thinking these things, These were already It
- 56:45Speaker 2: wasn't this wasn't a mind blowing moment for her. The
- 56:47Speaker 2: stuff was already on the surface for her, exactly.
- 56:50Speaker 3: And I think, listen, this is this point in these
- 56:53Speaker 3: shows is also when it gets tricky. Right do you
- 56:56Speaker 3: stay in because you want to win the game or
- 56:59Speaker 3: do you stay in because you are interested in what
- 57:04Speaker 3: could happen in this relationship? Same thing on Love Island.
- 57:09Speaker 3: People sometimes stay together and try to make it work
- 57:12Speaker 3: towards the end because they still want that chance at
- 57:15Speaker 3: the money.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Because it is still about winning. Yes, you would hope
- 57:19Speaker 2: that you make a connection, but it is about winning,
- 57:22Speaker 2: that's really. I think that's where viewers, in particular, if
- 57:25Speaker 2: you've never been on a reality show, that's where it
- 57:26Speaker 2: gets confused. You you want the real thing, you want
- 57:31Speaker 2: the love, right, but ultimately you get to a point
- 57:35Speaker 2: where it is about staying. It is about winning the concept.
- 57:38Speaker 2: You're not so aware that you need to be able
- 57:41Speaker 2: to admit that, but that's ultimately what happens exactly.
- 57:46Speaker 3: So we go into our final episode and just to recap,
- 57:50Speaker 3: our couples at this point are Lexi and James, Jake
- 57:53Speaker 3: and Christine, Tim and Gia, Keith and Delaney and David
- 57:57Speaker 3: and Vale. And I just watched this opening scene and
- 58:01Speaker 3: I was like, Delaney has the most incredible hair. I
- 58:05Speaker 3: feel like I've ever Oh my god, is it not
- 58:08Speaker 3: like a thick, gorgeous like horses mane of hair.
- 58:12Speaker 2: There was a lot of hair this season, but I
- 58:15Speaker 2: most appreciated Delaney's and Enna Anda has the don't know
- 58:19Speaker 2: if it's she paid for it, it's extensions, I don't know,
- 58:22Speaker 2: but they have the most gorgeous, gorgeous hair.
- 58:25Speaker 3: It's just long and beautiful. And I just the scene
- 58:28Speaker 3: of freaking Delaney waking up in the morning and like
- 58:31Speaker 3: no makeup on and putting on like lotion on her face.
- 58:34Speaker 3: I'm like, this girl's gorgeous. This girlrgeous, wakes up and
- 58:40Speaker 3: is like a Disney princess. She is so stunning, and
- 58:43Speaker 3: she's just gonna be fine.
- 58:45Speaker 2: She's gonna be just fine.
- 58:47Speaker 4: They're all gonna be just fine.
- 58:49Speaker 3: It's fine after this show. So Delaney decides to pull
- 58:53Speaker 3: Keith for a talk before they get back on the yacht,
- 58:56Speaker 3: and that's when she says, you know, I don't think
- 58:59Speaker 3: that we should move forward with pursuing a relationship. He
- 59:02Speaker 3: very much is in agreement at the exact same moment.
- 59:05Speaker 3: There's no like they know that the Jacob they're in agreement.
- 59:08Speaker 3: But didn't it feel very like high tension? They're in agreement?
- 59:12Speaker 3: But I don't know, it just felt like high tension
- 59:15Speaker 3: to me. I think that nobody wants to be dumped
- 59:18Speaker 3: on camera, you know what I mean?
- 59:20Speaker 4: And have you ever been in those situations?
- 59:23Speaker 2: I mean I know, y uh yes, Actually I have
- 59:25Speaker 2: been dumped on camera, Heather, did you miss that?
- 59:30Speaker 4: I have not been dumped on camera?
- 59:32Speaker 3: But what I was gonna say is, have you ever
- 59:35Speaker 3: been in those situations where somebody dumped you and you were.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Like, gosh, dang it, I was gonna dump you? Like,
- 59:45Speaker 4: uh I actually I am thinking of I am thinking
- 59:48Speaker 4: of something right.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Now from my past where I was literally crying because
- 59:53Speaker 3: this guy dumped me before I could dump him.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Like I was not sad that it was over. I
- 59:59Speaker 4: was literally sad because I was like oh, I wanted
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: to dump him.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: So I feel like that is the energy I'm getting
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: from Keif in this situation is like this dude was
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: also probably talking to they were both probably talking to
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: their own individual producers, and he's like, I'm gonna dump her,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: and she was like I'm gonna dump him, and then
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: they let her talk first, and he was probably just.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Like no me first. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I see
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: it all right. Head of the burn Box. We see
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: the segment about the burn Box. I uh, they'll write
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: down their deepest and darkest secrets and thoughts about the
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: other couples.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: I don't know Heather and this was excessive, this wasssive and.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Then it's like then we're gonna go cast another vote,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: and it's just like okay, let's just like get to it.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: So it's just like the couples just saying mean spirited things.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: And then there's only four couples at this point, so
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: everybody knows who's writing about who. Like this is something
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that you do early on.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: And yeah, because you don't really you see people fighting
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: with David the whole time because of what he's done,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: but you don't see the any kind of arguments with
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: with the other couples. They're all friends, so it felt
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: really unnecessary.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Exactly, But it's like this, we see this kind of
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: game or element play out on other shows, but you
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: do it earlier on when there's more people still on,
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: so you don't know who wrote what, and it's a
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: little bit more confusing. This was very blatant. Who was
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: writing about whom? Like, you know, these couples are an
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: alliance on two and two like basically the whole time.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: So someone wrote on that David will ghost vowel as
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: soon as they get off the yacht.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: I mean they're not far off favorably correct.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: That's probably right.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Gia's not going to take it to the next level
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: with Tim physically. I think that's like a stretch. I
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: think these two have shown that they are attracting incredibly
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: mature and fine, and I think that again, it's like,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: you can be sexually free and be giving BJ's five
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: minutes after you meet somebody in the shower on camera.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: That is your prerogative.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Somebody choosing to wait until something is special or something
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: has been discussed a little bit more in length should
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: not be weaponized against them by any means. Just like
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: we don't weaponize the opposite to somebody because they're more
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: free spirited.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: So I didn't really like that comment.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I didn't like that part either. It's also the part
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: of the culture that we live in too, you know
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: what I mean. Oh you don't drink? Why, what's wrong
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: with you? Oh you're not doing you're not doing sexual activity?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: What's wrong with you?
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: I think it's more of a culture on these shows, right,
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: especially where everybody's rocking the boat except for this one couple,
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: and it's like, that's not how everybody, a majority of
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: people I think, moved through life. So anyways, it's just
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: it was excessive. And then one says, you were just
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: supposed to be a shipwrecker, not a home wrecker. Let's
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: get over it, guys. Okay, we're over it. They weren't married,
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Jake and Christine is just lust Okay, I mean sure,
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: it is okay that great Lexi and James are not
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: compatible outside the boat. It's a stretch. It's a stretch.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: These two see clearly are into each other. They're young.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: That's the only thing that I think is like the
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: biggest flaw in what could happen. It's just like they're
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Young and then against David. It says, once a cheater,
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: always a cheater, David, you haven't done anything to like
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: really help yourself out in this whole situation. So everybody
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: votes who should go home. Tim and Gea they both
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: vote for Jake and Christine. David and Val they both
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: vote for Tim and Gea. Val follows his choice. Jake
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: and Lexi. They both vote for Jake and Christine. And
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: then we could be at a tie, which Gabby said,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: we can't have a tie, and so Jake and Christine
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: decide to vote themselves to leave.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: I love that they did this. I mean, I wasn't
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: super connected to Jake this whole time anyway.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: But I love that he was just like, I'm just
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: going to take one for the team. I'm going to
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: ride off to the sunset. For whatever reason, either he's
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: over Christine and he's ready to move on, or he
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: just is like, we don't stand a chance. I just
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: love that they did this, and they didn't make it
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: a whole situation. They were just like, we're going to
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: see ourselves out. It was fun, we had a good time. Goodbye,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: it was just annoying.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: So then we have our last day on the yacht,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: and Gia is still irritated, but by what David said
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: the night before about her not having sex with Tim
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: and Lexi doesn't support David.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: Or Val anymore. And you know, Val.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Is telling David that he's the only one who could
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: take down her walls, and they get like emotional and
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: talk about this, and then Gabby asks the couples to
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: come to the sun Deck final vote. All the castaways
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: return to determine who the winning couple is. So this
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: is very Survivor esque. You have everybody from the show
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: come back.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: But not everybody. Our girl Bella was not there. Did
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: you notice that I was looking for our girl Heather
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: and she was not there. She was noticeably missing, and
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: I was so very sad. Where was my girl?
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Did I miss that?
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I missed it? I looked for her in the pants.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: They did the panning very quickly with all of the contestants,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: and I was looking for my girl Bella because I
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: just needed a little bit more of her. But she
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: was not there.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Bella, DMUs why weren't you there? What happened? This is crazy?
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: You actually, Oh, she wasn't at the ex.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: She wasn't party. She was missing from the time she
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: left the boat. She was gone, Bella.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: She must have really been struggling and was like, I
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: go home.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Hm, wow, Bella, we just noticed that. I just noticed that. Wow. Interesting.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Okay, So Lexi and James. James calls Lexi the love
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: of his life.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: I love them.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I love them, Heather, I love them.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: And I love that.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Lexi reminds everybody she's like my men man went to
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: the downside, and I followed him because I like him
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: that much.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: So that's a good point. Tim and Gia.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Gia says that she's falling in love with Tim, and
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: Tim says he wasn't expecting to fall in love, but
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: being vulnerable has been hard for him, and now he
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: gets to show his soft side with Gia, and he
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: loves her. David and Val. Val says she was attracted
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: to him from the start, and that we know that
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: David provides her passion and security, and that Val says
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: she's in love with him.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: This is actually shocking to everybody.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: That is everyone. They've been there two weeks. We've heard
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: the timeline. They've been there two weeks. All they've really
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: experienced is his situation with low.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and so Lo chooses this time to interrupt, and
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: she asks to read a little speech she's written. Low,
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: I'm going to give you your snaps on this because you
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: start out first by apologizing to Val and misappropriating your anger.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: So great job.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: That is a really good sign of growth and reflection.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: She calls out David for flipping so quick and not
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: coming clean to her when he had the chance. Again, David,
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: he apologizes to Low, but the castaways like, really don't
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: think it's that great of an apology, and then he
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: starts to tell Val how he feels, and he just
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: goes get and just stops talking.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: It is this moment for me that my heart actually
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: breaks for Val. She is given, i mean, a less
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: than stellar opportunity on this show, not that he needed
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: to confess his undenying love for her, but just that like,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: she doesn't get what she deserves. It is it's all
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: about the situation and how David acted and how he
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: was wrong, and that is played over and he does
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: no part in taking accountability or even at any point
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: turning and looking and going I'm sorry, even if he
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: doesn't want to take accountability for just like being like
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: I'm sorry. That you are having to do this right now.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry that this is taking away from you. I
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: don't know I needed more from him.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but this is the thing, like it can't will
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: somebody to change, they have to do it on their own.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: And I think that this is a really good example
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: of somebody that is just right now set in their
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: ways and not willing to take accountability. And again, I
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: hope that this experience is kind of a mirror for David, because,
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: like I said previously, this is.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: Going to follow him for a really long time.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: So the Astaways vote for the couple they think will last,
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: and two couples will be going overboard tonight. So we
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: have our final plank ceremony and Gabby says the men
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: will be representing the couples for this. So first up
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: as David and James. David chooses at this time to
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: tell the group why he likes Val and she makes
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: him feel safe, is what he says. And so James
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: and Lexi end up going overboard, which is shocking. I
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: know they were your favorites. James gets dumped and as
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: soon as he does, Lexi goes and dives in after
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: him and says, my man dad and.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: So at the moment I needed the entire show, Heather, Yeah, okay,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: so you know I'm all for James and Lexi, and
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: I was so sad because I really had them pegged
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: to win. I thought about texting you in that moment,
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: but I was like, I'm gonna save it and save
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: it for our episode. Yeah, I had them pegged to
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: win the show. So I am very, very sad for
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: multiple reasons, mostly because I'm wrong, but also I think
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: they're so cute and I think they can have somewhat
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: of a lasting relationship for their age. I think they're
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: really into each other. But the moment that Lexi is like, no,
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I'm going after my man and she jumps in, I
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: needed that the entire season.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: I needed that.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: So I felt fulfilled in that moment that we get
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: this like heroin moment where she jumps overboard and her
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: hair and her lashes are all wet and she swims
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: to the raft for her man, And that's what I
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: needed the entire episode, the entire season.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: I think it was shocking because again that means David
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: is staying for the next round where he goes up
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: against Tim. And this is finally where Tim and Gia
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: win meaning David goes overboard and they are are winning couple.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: They embrace, they are so excited. We see them sail
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: off into the sunset together.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: It's cute.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: I mean, I was not disappointed. I do we know
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: how long they're going to last. Obviously we don't know,
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: but the fact that they do live in the same
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: city I think is a very good thing for them
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: to try and build their relationship.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to bring it back to the interview
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: that you saw on social media that People Magazine posted
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: of him. Oh yeah, and he is talking and he
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: literally says, you know, They're like, what's your status?
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: Where are you?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Guys say, oh, I have to wait and see him,
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: Like we've already seen it, bro, just tell us what's
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: going on. And then at the end, he very coly
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: is coyly, is like, well she lives right down the street. Yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay, okay, but I need a reunion Heather.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I love the idea of a reunion for this show.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I will say that I did some social poking. Looks
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: like Tim posted a video from him and Gea during
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Halloween s up together, and then I did a little poking,
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: and Val wrote this whole long post saying, I know
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: everybody wants to know the outcome after the show. I'll
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: share my thoughts when I'm ready. Her and David are
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: not following each other on social media, so I can't
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: imagine that it was good.
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: But David has.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Not only posted pictures of him in low kissing embracing,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: He's also posted pictures of him and Val. So David
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: is acting like this was an experience and you know
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: he's posting things from it. But yeah, I would bet
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: that they are not together anymore.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: I wasn't even in a relationship with David, and I
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: am confused.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: I just think that David.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: I don't think he ghosted her, but I'm sure he
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: said something like I need to get back to reality.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: I need to figure things out.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: You need to focus on me right now, focus on.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Me and ended things with her. I'm interested to see,
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: like you, if Tim and Gia are still together. I
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: feel like it's a little questionable too. About Lexi and James.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: I haven't seen. James is very active on his social media.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: He's very active in posting. He's been answering some fan
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: questions and stuff like that. I don't get as much
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: from her, so I am really interested. I've had to
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: refrain because I want to get to the end of
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: the show before I start dming all of my friends
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: to find out what's going on in their lives. I'm like,
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: I'll just inch into the crazy lady position first, but
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: I'm really curious. I hope that they give us a
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: reunion show. I would really like that some sort, even
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: if it's just like online. I would really like a
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: reunion show. And if they're not together, like I need
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: it for my own sanity.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: We'll keep you guys posted if we see a reunion,
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: obviously we will recap it. But this has been such
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: a fun journey. Deanna, thanks so much for letting me
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: come on and co host these episodes with you about
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: our favorite new show, and hopefully we get some answers
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: on what happened with Bella what's going on with her?
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: But I'm stay in tune for a season two because
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: this was such a fun show to watch and I
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: hope that everybody has enjoyed listening to these recaps. Tell
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: us who were you hoping to win this show and
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: what did you think of the outcome? But until I
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: guess we have a reunion or another show to recap.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: That's all for us, Thanks.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Dianna, Heather. What am I supposed to do with all
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: my free time now?
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Follow them on Instagram and obsess over them in real
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: life exactly exactly until our next show that we have
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: to recap where people are kind of famous. We'll have
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: to figure out what that next show is.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Until our next reality show. I've been Deanna, I've been Heather.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: Bye.
