- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: Before we begin family, a quick heads up.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: This story is a horror game and as such, it is full of things that might disturb your dreams, follow in your footsteps, and haunt your waking hours.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: Please check the episode description for a full list of content warnings before proceeding.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Take care of yourselves, and thanks for listening.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: The children are trapped inside their fort.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: Rabbit rabbit waits just outside, and Adelaide is not breathing.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_03]: Is there anything in this fort that we could use?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like a stone, a stick.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_04]: Any not stuff we may have stored away here?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: What have you guys stored away here?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_04]: I think we definitely would have stored away snacks.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_04]: Like juice boxes, food, skin stones, skipping stones.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_04]: Probably a whole bunch of really cool sticks.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe some like, you know, like stones and maybe look like arrowheads, maybe a sling shot, or like, I don't think kids would really thought about like weaponry other than sticks and stones.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe, oh, we probably have like maybe one big flashlight of something.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_04]: Like one of those big heavy flashlights.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_04]: We definitely would have one of those.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_04]: Probably, I think, a jar of bugs.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think I don't have a jar of bugs.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, a bunch of that is probably hanging out in a little like, and like, one big bin, we brought over.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_04]: What is it, Juan?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_03]: Is he thinking, do you think he killed that late?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: Think it was him?
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: Can I just, think it was the other rabbit?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_04]: The right, no rabbit bites on her, though.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think I, right, though.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think I ain't right.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_03]: How do we get out of here?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: How do we get out of here?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we can get up onto the top of it but climb up but Can't leave Adelaide in here.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then you hear, open the door.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: I grab fist full of rocks.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do some of those skipping stones.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: What do you want?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: You don't hear anything.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Leave us alone.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: Leave us alone.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: We ain't doing nothing.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_04]: Ziggs looking at the little rope ladder on the other side of the fort that leads to like a hole at the top where they would sit and you know stargaze at night as this fort sort of like slumped against a large tree that they could go like climb part of and sit.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_04]: We gotta get it.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_04]: All right, dovia.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_04]: We take the bin, we block the door and we carry out a lead-up for rope ladder.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know block the top, so he can't get up.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_03]: Anything.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, okay, we can't we just hide here.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it'll go away.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it'll go away.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it'll leave us alone.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_04]: Well, now we know what's rain here.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: We yelled at him.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_03]: He can't sell it there forever.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_03]: What if he, we will allow him to come in?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_03]: If, if he wanted to come in, uh,
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: I think he had to come in.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: We just, yeah, I don't think he can come.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he can't come in unless we take me.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Let him.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he can't come in in here.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Go away.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's just alone.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you said there isn't opening at the top?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's like a latch.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: OK.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't what you're doing.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I see that evil look on their face.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_04]: I know what I did when I said there's another way in.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: Can we see if his the shape of the rabbit rabbit is still in front of the door?
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say this is a very flimsy.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's not an official door.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: You could definitely still see the rabbit.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe maybe... Maybe if we push it to a real fast arm and knock them over, we can just run and run.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: How are we gonna run with Adelaide?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: We can't, we can't, we can't, she's gone already.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: She's gone already, see?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: But we can't leave her here though.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to die, I don't want to die.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to die neither, W, but she's our friend.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_04]: We'll have her not.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to tell her parents, sorry, we left her body there for a big monster rabbit to eat.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: I hurt Paul won't care anyway.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't give two shirts about her paw.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_04]: I care about her and I care about us getting out of here.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_04]: Well, alright, how about this?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_04]: We hide her.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: We hide under the blanket here.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_04]: We hide under the blankets and put onto the floor here.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: We hide her here.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll come back later and get her.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_04]: Just wrap her up in the blankets.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_04]: We'll come back.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's a good idea.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_03]: What, what, what?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do that.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: You stay away, Rabbit.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: Stay away.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we got my daddy's rifle in here.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: You don't want none of that.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_03]: No, sir, you don't want that rifle.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: We'll blow your little head off.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_04]: I think the both of them were just going to throw empty threats to cover the noise of like doing this in my like child brain like innocent thing of like hiding Adelaide's that nothing happens to her but just thinking about it as an adult a very macabre thing to do.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_04]: But
- 5:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think Zeke has come to the realization, there's no way they could safely run away with adult carrying Adelaide between the two of them, knowing that this thing is probably very fast and
- 5:54[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I think they wrap her up in tightly in blankets, like put some like candy in the bag, like in with her, give her the flashlight to hold on to, like kind of like as a token of something, like the big torch light.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_04]: And we put her underneath, we like we use our hands and like dig a little bit into the soft earth, put her in and just like lay the flea reeds and like bark and stuff that made the floor and then kind of like push the bin of our stuff
- 6:25[SPEAKER_04]: And, I think, when we...
- 6:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_03]: You're sure she's dead, right?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_03]: We just didn't...
- 6:33[SPEAKER_03]: I checked her.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_03]: She's alive, did she?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_04]: We just... Reject her pulse.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: She's not breathing.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_04]: She hasn't been breathing.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, fuck.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_03]: She's... She's really dead.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: We'll come back and we'll figure this out.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: But right now, we have that thing out there.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_04]: All right, Ryan.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do this.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_04]: Right, with the three Musketeers, down, right, and we'll grab the Zekele hand, the W, his sword stick, he'll take his two, but then he'll also take Adelaide's little one and also give that to W, it'll hold on to you.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: He'll take the little one and leave it on this impromptu little grave in the fort.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't think, you know, these are children.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't bury her six feet deep.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_04]: Like, they just really mostly covered it.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't imagine, no, I, yeah, like, so even if, like, no, she's not buried six feet under it's in the horrifying event that she's like, like, those characters from Lost, like, we're just paralyzed, like, maybe, you know, she's not completely, like, gonna suffocate or anything if she's actually alive.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, W, my, might have just even cleared the dirt off her face and nose.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: So just in case, she could still breathe.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like, just underneath, like, the sheen of a sheet.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, we climb up, we can throw, we can throw the jar bugs at it, and we're climb up the rope.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay, okay, alright, you can throw further than I can, so you take the jar and I'll just take some some rocks.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, and as he's gonna get the jar, it's like, it's a mason jar full of worms and bugs and beetles and spiders.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: Is like holding it up with like two hands kind of like about to shot put it and you kind of like waiting for Z because like I got to hold this with two hands You give me you give the cue and we'll throw I'll go around on top.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go around the front door Top Okay, all right, all right, all right I'm up the real platter Just peek out the latch That's rather narrow.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's not there all right All right, it's it's all clear
- 9:00[SPEAKER_04]: All right, and if you sit with the assistance of like W helping him out, he's going to launch the Mason jar of bugs and then haul his tiny ass up the rope ladder to the latch.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, are you guys going up and out?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Sounds like it.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, we've for two kids in a situation like this we're doing what we can.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, as soon as I pop out, I'm gonna reach down and try and help to seek out to reach him.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, as soon as you guys make your way out with terrifying speed coming from behind, the door that's now open, the top, door that you guys made, rabbit rabbit appears, and hops down, the hole, and just drops in there.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: So you see, hop, hop, and then fall.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we probably have some heavier rocks up here, so we want to keep him contained in there, like he's not... No, let's go, let's just go, see.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just, to hell out of here.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: Right, right.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I think they know multiple ways to climb down from here, and I think we both run.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: As you both are running, you do hear your makeshift front door like blast through.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: So you hear that kind of splintering of whatever you made of it, wood sticks, it's not an official door you guys are children, right?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a whole bunch of stuff you guys found in the woods.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: You hear it blown apart.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think W.Y.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: when you hear such a, that's sort of, primal, scream like a girl and he's just gonna run even faster.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are running as fast as you can, but you hear the sound of like the thumping, a feet quick, like the, like immediately and rabbit rabbit is in front of you.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: And you see it again, looking at you, this nest is my doing.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like the mouth doesn't open, but you can hear words like being projected from.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: And you know it's coming from rabbit rabbit.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: What do you guys do as it starts to speak to you?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_04]: As it stands in front of you.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to dodge the rock.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: Zeke's just holding this two sticks and pointing.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't do enough.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_04]: What do you want with us?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: I should have not let you children borrow it for I knew it to be dangerous.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: But it gled in my heart and I allowed it to continue for far too long.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: And now, your friend is dead, but I can bring her back to life.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_04]: I never heard no stories about you being able to do that.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Would you like your friend to return to the life from which they came to be fool and true and beaten of heart once again?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I won't add a laid-back to you, but...
- 12:24[SPEAKER_04]: But...
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: This is private, private.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: What do you want for this?
- 12:30[SPEAKER_04]: Ain't no creature I know and folk tales do things for free.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not now.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: But sometime in the future, each of you will have an O, to me, a single Warren, upon your friends next and final death.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: Do you say yes?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_03]: I must...
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: The promise you bring Adelaide back?
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, I did tell you.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think, sick?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'm... best on Noah's.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_04]: When things like this say they'll do something.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_04]: They'll do it, but... We're gonna owe it later.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: This is Adelaide who's talking about.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I know.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'll do it.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_04]: That, uh, me too.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_04]: If you really mean you can do it, you can bring her back, make her well again.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_04]: I don't remember Barrow and nothing from Yen.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: We're sorry if we did something to it, but Adelae is the best of the three of us and she don't deserve to die.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: The rabbit sort of bowls, and its own way, and it hops back to the fort.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_03]: and we follow it, or I follow it.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, I'm going to follow Zeke.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: By the time you guys get back, you see Adelaide sitting up and breathing, as though she had never stopped.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_03]: Calls to his fooling.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Rabbit rabbit bells, and you see it's mini heads that are also covering its body.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: It bells, and then it's off, and rabbit rabbit is gone.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: And Adelaide gets up.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I had the strangest dream.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I covered in dirt?
- 14:34[SPEAKER_04]: Zika's awestruck, he doesn't know what his draw is just dropped,
- 14:44[SPEAKER_04]: and has like completely forgotten about the the wound that's like kind of bleeding down the side of his face and he's kind of looking at Adelaide's and looking where rabbit rabbit jumped away and he started to wonder if this is this is a dream like when she says that is like is this a dream was I that I really hit my head too hard can I get both of you to roll a control save as
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: This entire nightmare situation is just bending your mind in ways that have never been done before.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_04]: I have rolled a four under a 12.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, success.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: Roll a 16 over a 13.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm going to roll a D4 for you and that is just one.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: You take one point of stress as it starts to affect what you know of reality a bit.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know the stories of rabbit rabbit but to see it done in real life is still amazing.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: But it's affecting your mind just in a little bit, a little bit of ways.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think what's going on in WEE's mind is he's in complete denial.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_03]: Now he's going to completely forget that rabbit, even existed, he's going to convince himself that Adelaide was just choking around his entire time.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_03]: and he's gonna rush up and embrace Adelaide.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that was a good one.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: Adelaide, you had us, you had us great fooled, you had us.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Zika, especially Zika, you should have seen it.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: He was terrified.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, what are you talking about, Debbie?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why, also, you guys didn't answer my question.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I covered in dirt?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: You are feeling all right, and I laid you on.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I feel all right.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're lucky seeing a ghost.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_04]: No, I think it's just a feeling a bit whosy.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_04]: You see, I hit my head real bad.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and she finally sees the gash.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Good, stands up.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, are you okay?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let me help you.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let me help you.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_04]: At first tries to resist, but then again, he's a child, this really hurts and is definitely going to let the gravity take him so he sits down and kind of lets Adelaide tend to him, even though he is still looking out to where rabbit rabbit jumped away and disappeared.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as you kind of have this, I imagine this far off-steer, as she's helping you.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, that's not out there.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but she grabs some grass and like that spongy type of grass and it starts to like dab your forehead.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Are you okay?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: What happened?
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Was it the fact, you guys are fighting?
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: I can't feel like it's weird.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: I might sound crazy, but I feel like I had a weird dream.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I remember you both were wrestling, right?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Or we were, no, we had the, he had the bang snaps that I raised by.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_04]: The bang snaps, yeah.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_04]: Did I fall?
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, W, did you hit?
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: She just stands up, puts her hands on her hips.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Did you hit Zik?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_03]: I might have won him at wrestling.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: That'll pick you whole, or no, to hold.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_03]: That's what it was.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you can be careful, okay?
- 18:18[SPEAKER_04]: Normally, Zeke would jab back at W with that kind of insult with a shit up aura.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: I know what Zeke is just, I think with the success he has rationalized that
- 18:34[SPEAKER_04]: That was real.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_04]: Rabbit Rabbit was here.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_04]: Adelaide was dead.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_04]: He and W did a painful amount of CPR attempts to try and resuscitate her, and she had no pulse.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_04]: She was cold.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: She was getting stiff.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: Like everything he knows from his mama that that's a dead body.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_04]: And I think seeing that W's kind of going into Nile about it,
- 19:03[SPEAKER_04]: Like he doesn't know what to think.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: You both, you're not sure exactly what you have agreed to with Rabbit Rabbit.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: and already that this terrifying reality it begins to fade.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's this nightmare, friendship, and death, it's already unraveling and after that summer, you all drift apart eventually as you get older.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: You go your own ways.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: It is like with the loss of the fort is eventually lost and the trauma of Adelaide's first death,
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: There is nothing holding you together anymore, and you do not truly come back together until decades later, when you get the message that your childhood friend Adelaide has died for real.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: and so drawn by a mix of grief and this lingering unspoken dread, wherever you both have gone, you pack your bags and travel back to the cold-dusted town of Dismal Pennsylvania to attend her funeral and finally lay her to rest.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: And that brings our time in the woods to a close.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: A massive thank you to our players Andrew Park as W.E.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: and Michael Gilbert as Ezekiel Green.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: My name is Maya and I have been your gay master and narrator.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for listening.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Take care of yourselves, family, and remember.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's always best to leave them, go solo.
