- 0:00Many people are skeptical about the possibility of humanity
- 0:04participating consciously in the transformation and change of
- 0:08human nature. They believe that our nature is
- 0:11fixed and every attempt to change it has shown the futility
- 0:15of the effort. If we observe carefully, or even
- 0:20quite casually, we can see that this skepticism is not well
- 0:25founded and in fact is refuted by the facts.
- 0:30We can observe the role that humanity is playing in changing
- 0:34the physical evolution and in the development and
- 0:37manifestation of both an optimized human capacity and the
- 0:42start of a transformational effort that is intended to
- 0:46exceed the current limits of human evolutionary capacity.
- 0:51We can categorize this human intervention and evolution in
- 0:54three primary ways. They're the changes to the
- 0:58nature itself, the process that leads to genetic changes,
- 1:03whether through conscious intervention or through
- 1:06unintended consequences of actions of the mind to try to
- 1:10manage the world environment, the material foundation of
- 1:14existence and the operation and development of life in plants
- 1:19and animals. The developments in the use of
- 1:23stem cells to grow custom tailored human organs are making
- 1:27it possible to envision replacement parts tailored to an
- 1:31individual, thereby further extending life expectancy.
- 1:37Then there are the changes that occur through what we may call
- 1:40nurture, education, training, increased understanding that
- 1:46leads to more precise application of diet, exercise,
- 1:50lifestyle focus, biofeedback mechanism, all act to help
- 1:56optimize and take human capacity to its limits and once the
- 2:01limits are reached, going beyond them.
- 2:06Then there is the societal intervention that has led to
- 2:09increased health and Wellness opportunities, expanded life
- 2:13expectancy, increased average height, and brought about a new
- 2:18foundation of Wellness that aids in the utilization of our human
- 2:22capacities. For example, we see an emerging
- 2:27science of genetic manipulation, whether through scientific
- 2:30intervention or through societal manipulation of genetic pairing
- 2:35of individuals through development of educational and
- 2:39class stratification, provision of enhanced opportunity for
- 2:44certain groups of people to form families and create children of
- 2:48that pairing who bring forward qualities desired by the
- 2:52society. We now see even the possibility
- 2:56of gene editing using what is called CRISPR technology to
- 3:00remove certain genetic mutations or abnormalities prior to birth,
- 3:05as well as research being done to turn on or off certain genes
- 3:10to either enhance certain abilities such as regrowing
- 3:14teeth or limbs, or for preventing certain potential
- 3:18disease conditions. The search at the scientific and
- 3:22technological level for the perfection of mankind has, of
- 3:26course, inherent risks, either through unintended or intended
- 3:31consequences, but it nevertheless illustrates the
- 3:35power of human intervention into the future development and
- 3:39transformation that can occur as humanity continues to explore.
- 3:44Along these lines, they're also the consequences that lead to
- 3:49mutations through application of a very limited understanding by
- 3:53human intelligence, for instance through pollution, climate
- 3:58change, poisoning of the air, water and soil, destruction of
- 4:03habitats and breaking of the chain of life and the food chain
- 4:07in all its complexity. These things also are results of
- 4:12human conscious intervention in the action of nature that lead
- 4:16to changes in the very genetic structure of humanity itself.
- 4:21Evidence of this can be found in the decrease of sperm counts and
- 4:25motility that appear to be linked to chemical pollutants we
- 4:29spew into our environment, and the resultant changes in
- 4:33fertility and in the sexual characteristics of the
- 4:38population at large. We can observe the development
- 4:42of training routines, dietary regimens that enhance human
- 4:48performance. Virtually all the first rank
- 4:51athletes in the world undergo training and discipline to hone
- 4:55their skills and take them to the edge of human performance
- 4:59capacity. We continually see world records
- 5:03being broken and standards being reset to account for enhanced
- 5:07performance in the sports competitions.
- 5:11This is just one example of what is actually a widespread
- 5:16phenomenon across all fields of human development.
- 5:21Societal intervention on a general level also has enhanced
- 5:24and developed human capacities far beyond levels of the past.
- 5:30The development of sanitation, disinfection protocols and the
- 5:34use of vaccines, understanding of hygiene and the use of
- 5:39surgery and antibiotics, all of increased general Wellness, life
- 5:44expectancy and allowed innate potential of the human
- 5:48instrument to appear. If we look back only 150 or 200
- 5:54years, we can see the differences in human life and
- 5:57development of the human instrument that have occurred as
- 6:01a result of this type of applied understanding.
- 6:06But the question goes beyond that of understanding human
- 6:09capabilities and optimizing for them.
- 6:12It goes beyond our ability to intervene in nature and control
- 6:16and change matter and life through use of our mental
- 6:19capacities. We see an increasing focus on
- 6:22the development of powers of consciousness that are latent
- 6:26but not active generally, and the transcendence of our mental
- 6:31limitations through development of what we call spiritual
- 6:35consciousness. Technology relies on fixed
- 6:38mechanism and specific applications through tools we
- 6:42create. We see, however, a movement in
- 6:45the world away from reliance on generating apparatus wires and
- 6:50cumbersome mechanisms pointing towards a wireless world.
- 6:56Some are experimenting with implanting microchips to provide
- 7:00instant access to a wider data set and ability to respond to
- 7:04increasingly technical demands of society.
- 7:09Others have taken up meditation, spiritual practices of various
- 7:14sorts, the focus on development of powers of intuition,
- 7:18inspiration, clairvoyance, clairaudience, distance, vision,
- 7:24out of body travel, and even development of new forms of
- 7:28knowledge that do not rely on mental process, but on what
- 7:32Shrioro Bindo calls a knowledge by identity.
- 7:36This represents the cutting edge of human conscious intervention
- 7:40to tap into powers and capacities that far exceed our
- 7:44current human limitations, and which can act without needing
- 7:48all the external tools that we have developed heretofore.
- 7:54While many still expressed doubt about the reality of these
- 7:57phenomena, enough study and scientific review has taken
- 8:01place by now to put the possibility far outside the
- 8:05realm of doubt. The phenomena are documented and
- 8:09real, even if they are not currently within reach of most
- 8:13of humanity, by virtue of either lack of focus or interest or
- 8:18lack of readiness to utilize them or even appreciate them.
- 8:24Sri Urubindu observes. Quote In the previous stages of
- 8:29the evolution, nature's first care and effort had to be
- 8:32directed towards a change in the physical organization, for only
- 8:37so could there be a change of consciousness.
- 8:40This was a necessity imposed by the insufficiency of the force
- 8:44of consciousness already in formation to effect a change in
- 8:49the body. But in man a reversal is
- 8:52possible, indeed inevitable, for it is through his consciousness,
- 8:57through its transmutation, and no longer through a new bodily
- 9:01Organism as a first instrumentation, that the
- 9:04evolution can and must be affected.
- 9:08In the inner reality of things. A change of consciousness was
- 9:12always the major fact. The evolution has always had a
- 9:16spiritual significance, and the physical change was only
- 9:19instrumental. But this relation was concealed
- 9:24by the 1st abnormal balance of the two factors, the body of the
- 9:29external in conscience outweighing and obscuring in
- 9:32importance the spiritual element, the conscious being.
- 9:36But once the balance has been righted, it is no longer the
- 9:40change of body that must precede the change of consciousness.
- 9:44The consciousness itself by its mutation will necessitate and
- 9:49operate whatever mutation is needed for the body.
- 9:53It has to be noted that the human mind has already shown a
- 9:56capacity to aid nature in the evolution of new types of plant
- 10:00and animal. It has created new forms of its
- 10:03environment, developed by knowledge and disciplined
- 10:07considerable changes in its own mentality.
- 10:10It is not an impossibility that man should aid nature
- 10:14consciously also in his own spiritual and physical evolution
- 10:20and transformation. The urge to it is already there
- 10:24and partly effective, though still incompletely understood
- 10:28and accepted by the surface mentality.
- 10:32But one day it may understand, go deeper within itself and
- 10:38discover the means, the secret energy, the intended operation
- 10:43of the consciousness force within which is the hidden
- 10:46reality of what we call nature. End Quote Reference Sri
