- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Well, we're we're not on that one.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: What is it?
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Uh you liver something, you lung, something like that.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Anyway, but I digress.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: We're not on that one.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: But we're on all the others, all the other important ones.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: And and I just think it's so cool.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: We got that website, stephenjeff.com, that is is just breaking records.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: It's breaking records.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: This is actually our first interview show of the year.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I think we did a a New Year's resolution show that I think ran either right before the end of the year or the beginning or right after.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: But this is our first interview of this year.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: And a lot of pressure on this guest.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, I I think we've spent a lot of time working on the perfect guest to start this.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely, Jeff.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: And with that in mind, that is exactly right because you know, I looked at did a lot of reading because I wanted to be ready for 2023.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: You know, you gotta be ready, you gotta be prepared.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: And I I I wanted to be ready.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: And so I did a lot of reading and and Google Diuretics said that people care about the weather, right?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: I care about the weather.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Every people check the weather every day, right?
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: People care about the weather.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I search far and wide, and I've got somebody on our show tonight who is an expert, a weather expert.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and Steve, I yeah, I don't want to bitch or complain, but I always thought that being a weather person or man or woman is the easiest job in the world because they're wrong so much of the time, and still they they still are successful or they're considered successful.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: So I mean if I grab somebody that's this talented, I think that's gonna be valuable to everybody and raise the bar.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's weatherology.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: It's like baseball, you know, and and it's like where you know, two out of three times you can strike out, but you know and and you're in the hall of fame, right?
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Well, this guy, let me tell you, this is the Thai Cobb.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: This is the Rogers Hornsby of weather.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you Rogers Cobb.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Well, that too.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: The Thai Hornsby.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: I don't I listen, I don't care about his private life, but but it could be, it could be.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So good.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Why don't we why don't we bring him on here?
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: He's uh he's actually not in the studio with us here at eccentric ladyland studios, he is out doing the weather thing.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: He is he is in the field right now doing the weather thing, and his name is John.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: John Farmer.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, John the Farmer.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, John, how are you?
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: Steve Jeff, I want to say thank you very much for having me on the show.
- 2:54SPEAKER_03: Uh I appreciate it.
- 2:57SPEAKER_03: But I'm good.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: I'll say about 13 out of 10.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: That's what I got.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, it sounds like maybe have you have you been exposed to COVID?
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: It sounds like you got a little congestion there, you know.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: Back in the peak time of the pandemic, I was uh I was pretty hunkered down, isolated out my farm doing my meteorologist business, and uh it never caught up to me.
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: I think I might have got a couple other diseases like HEP B or C or what one of those things.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm not sure.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: But I and you can get that from corn, I've heard.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: I I mean it's a thing.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: They be floating around, but I I I'm not saying no no COVID, no loss of taste or smell.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: You know, I taste my meat, I eat my meat, and it tastes like meat.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: You know, that's all that's all where I come from.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Well, and I don't I don't care about your private life either, John the farmer.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: But but uh but yeah, that's dad is so great that he's he's willing to go out and do the work that's so important to all of us, even when he's sick.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it absolutely is.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: And and John, uh, I'm uh what you would call a linguistic expert.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So when I we can't talk like that on the show, Jeff.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm I'm that too, but but if there's one thing I pride myself in, I can listen, I can hear one sentence out of somebody's mouth and know where they're from.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: So what part of England are you from?
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And are you a U.S.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: citizen?
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: No, Jeff, he's from Queens.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Everybody you can tell.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: He's from uh from Forest Hills, right?
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: I mean but Queens is right on the eastern part of the of the country where if you go across the water, you're in London.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: And in England, in England he had a queen until not too long ago.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: So there you go.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So John John, what part are you are you really from there?
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: I ain't got no queen, I ain't got no New York pizza, I ain't I ain't got no nothing.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: What I do got is a big damn belt and nine millimeter on my hip.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: That's where I was born in San Antonio, Texas.
- 4:53SPEAKER_03: My daddy was there, my grandpappy was there, but but my great-granddaddy, he he was from England, he did have the queen, but that doesn't matter, you know.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: That that ain't me.
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: That ain't me, you know.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: That's yeah, it's not a genetic, you didn't inherit his queen.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: Now, if you were the queen from my family, but that that's a whole other story.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: I ain't part of that.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: That's not my family.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, from Bel Air here.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, okay.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: But uh but John, you know, this time of year, especially, everybody's thinking about hey, what kind of winter are we gonna have?
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Is it gonna be as bad as some winters?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Is it gonna be light?
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Is it so?
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Everybody's looking at the farmer's almanac, and who better?
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Who better than a farmer to talk about the farmer's almanac, right?
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Steve, I'll tell you right here, right now.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: And I'm gonna tell you not more than once, nor twice, maybe maybe three times.
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: It depends.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: My daddy, he came up with that farmer's almanac.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: That was him, you know.
- 5:48SPEAKER_03: It was him, he did it.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: Uh, yes, what is what my mama told me.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: He said, Your daddy made that book, and everybody reads that book, and they like the book because the book is right.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: And let's be honest, tell me when the Falmer Alzenac been wrong.
- 6:01SPEAKER_03: How many times?
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: I count zero times because on the book it says, you know, this year we're gonna have a bad winter.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: We're gonna have bad winter out here Midwest.
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: In the West, they're probably gonna get a couple snows.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, see the flood they have now, like what's going on there.
- 6:17SPEAKER_03: Then it's been raining.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: It's like Seattle's screeching down in there.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So when you say that you're John the farmer, you mean you're the farmer, the farmer from the farmer's farmer's almanac.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that is amazing.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: The farm, yep.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Well, and I think I think maybe that's his name because it's you know how it's like they they name something like you know, the Ben Franklin stores, because of course Ben Franklin started those, and then but but maybe maybe it's the farmer's almanac because it was started by a guy named The Farmer.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: I know, I know.
- 6:48SPEAKER_03: Last name farmer, middle name, the the yeah, wow, yeah, boy that's like how we have like Jacob Smith, his his you know great-great grandpappy, blacksmiths, yeah, yeah.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: Farmers.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: That's just kind of that's kind of how it came from.
- 7:02unknown: Wow.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: See, that's sort of that sort of incisive history, that sort of genetic knowledge, that sort of gene memory is what this show is all about.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Bangum.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I am what a great way to start the year, Jeff.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: So one one question I have for you, uh John, is I don't know, do you ever see those movies about weather and stuff?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Uh what was the one?
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: What was the one with uh where they were chasing like uh hurricanes or was it was it Twister or what no, that was that was Chubby Checker.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: But no, right there.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: If you're talking about Sharknado, that's probably realistic.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that has never came out.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: All rightnado, that's that's destined to happen.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: It's coming up.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I wanted to put it in the Farmer Zelman Act this year, but I think with the pandy and everything, we had just had all that.
- 7:56SPEAKER_03: I I think it's too much for the public, general public to take in.
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: But you know, us a superior folk, you know, we can handle that.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: We can handle the the psychotic imaging, but the the civilians, you know, with the sharknados coming in.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 8:11unknown: Yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Well, and and and and you know, talking about Twister and linguistics, I you know, I think that's why we're not on that you live streaming service.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: That's why we're not there.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Because that's not that's not family friendly.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: That might be it.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I think that's it.
- 8:29SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Well, but I digress.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, not to uh get too inside of baseball.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Is that the right?
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know if that's the right term, but so how do you do it, John?
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Is it is it magic?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Is it uh how how do you predict the weather?
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: Well, it's not predicting the weather, it's pretty much just seeing it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, you look up in the sky and you're like, it's clear as shit.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: I can see through everything, I could see that you know Saturn.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: And if you're seeing Saturn, it ain't gonna rain.
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: You can't see Saturn, it's gonna rain.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: You sit there long enough, I'll tell you what, it's gonna rain.
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's plain and simple.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's it ain't that hard, and you know, and that's where people ask them, Well, hey, do you know about the the winter time?
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: And I just tell them to shut up because it's gonna come, and then by that time, the information I've told them, they'll forget it.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: And it's I mean, it's it'll be true regardless.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's pretty good.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: And and and people wonder and people wonder about the weather, but then they you know, it's like, hey, if it's winter, it's gonna be cold.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: It's summer, it's gonna be hot.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, okay.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: That's the most true sentence I've ever heard since hey, maybe maybe I could predict the weather too.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Wow, that sounds kind of cool.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: And and you're you're batting a thousand because correct me if I'm wrong, but you're actually describing the weather that's taking place at the moment it's taking place instead of this like guessing what it's gonna be.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Like, am I correct?
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: Well, in in the city, the city folk they have their fancy computers where they look in and they they see clouds coming from Japan and all that, and you know, what are they blowing up?
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: You know, what's coming from their cities, and then we get their smoke and their rain, but it's not really our rain, so it's kind of hard to predict the future because you know, what are they pewing out into their skies that's coming out of us, right?
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Let's be honest here.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: Well, and that and some of that, some of that foreign rain is is a little too spicy, you know what I mean?
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: It's just it can be, it can be, yep.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: And and you know, some of it, some of it is kind of it's like animals that you don't normally think of as food, you know what I mean?
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: That is true, and that brings up a good point, Steve.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, in my many years of being out here, uh, you know, I'm in my little cave right now, but once why I go outside, I mean it's dark outside, but I go outside, I can you know I taste the wind.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: You know, where'd this come from?
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: It tastes like New Zealand.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: That's why I taste the ice morning.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Tastes like New Zealand, and I could have sworn we had a little mountain goat taste in there of the wind.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, wow.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: That's how that's how long you gotta be in the business for.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: You be in the business for a long time, then you can taste it.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: You can taste the wind, you know where it's coming from.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: You know what's New Zealand tastes like a mountain goat.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: What does say, oh, I don't know, Japan taste like?
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Uh well, I would say it tastes like nuke, like nuclear, like nuclear explosions.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: But that could be biased because one of my grandpappies did was a part of the Hiroshima project, and that that could just be biased into my my blood.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: So wow.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: So he really had a big impact on the weather there, didn't he?
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: That's a family thing with you.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Impact, if you know what I mean.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Did yeah, yeah, wow.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: So I heard fascinating.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: I imagine Canada would be kind of like maple sugar, you know.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: It does get a little sweet, it's like that mill grained up corn, kind of sweet, like stale urine taste is almost what it comes from, but it's the good kind of stale urine, not the bad kind.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Well, it's stale urine from Canadian whiskey, which is you know, that's that that's good.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: That's all right.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: That we like, that's a tanner.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: So now, so let me just back up here a second here, because uh I want I you know, I'm I'm so impressed with your knowledge up to now.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: So now, do you specialize in a certain area of the country that you you do the weather for, or do you just like take them all together, like divide them by 50, and that's like the state forecast?
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you how do you know?
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: No, I ain't no accountant, so I uh you know, two plus two, you know, what does that even equal?
- 12:39SPEAKER_03: Like, let's be honest, no one really knows.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, do we so true?
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so true.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And I'm so bad with numbers.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, I could never answer.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: If I had to say, you know, what is two plus two, like you guys would not not know either, right?
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: Like, that's no, I don't know.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: Right, all right, okay.
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so yeah, uh, yeah, but I'm not good with the maths either.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: But the way I know the weather, it's all over the world.
- 13:00SPEAKER_03: I I you know, it's all over the world.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: Like I was saying, how I can smell it.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: If I get a drift of wind that's from New Zealand and it's hitting my my face on the right, and I'm looking the south, then I know it's gonna go over, it's gonna go over to my left, and I feel the wind's going.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, some some things may spin up that wind, but you know, wind's determined, it's it's gonna go and it ain't gonna stop until it wants to stop and take a breather, you know.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: Because when they take breather sometimes too, and you want to breathe, you won't go some time to go day sometimes, right?
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: So air needs to get some air.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Wow, you know, we all need to break sometimes, and that's what's important right here.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: All the science that we're getting on this show, Jeff, it's just it's just so impressive.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: I never realized New Zealand was so important, you know.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: I always thought our weather came from like uh California, but New Zealand clearly.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: Urban myth, that's an urban myth right there.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: It's promoted by Californians, I bet.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's when Arnie was the the governor, you know, he wanted more publicity for him in his movies.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Ah, there you go.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, we we we have a lot more weather to talk about, but uh Jeff, let me tell you, we have got a repeat sponsor.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, wonderful.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, and and Jeff Love those repeat sponsors.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: This is a great repeat sponsor.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: I'm I know you remember this.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: This is a this is it's kind of really very appropriate for tonight because it's uh it's educational.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: It's educational, Jeff.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: It's like it's you remember you remember that uh famous drummer school that ran an ad?
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: I do several shows ago.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: But they they have had such a great response that they wanted to run it back.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: So listen, why don't we uh let's just uh let's go to commercial.

- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Well, and this show has just gotten so smart, you know.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: I feel smarter already, Steve.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: And it it's it's you know, it's part of the educational mission of this show.

- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: So, John, do you play the drums?
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Uh, the only drum I play is my own knees when I'm sitting down cracking jokes.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: That's the only thing I'm gonna be smacking.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: I bet you crack some good ones there too, John.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: So, so John, what kind of year are we gonna have?
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: What does 2023 look like to you?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: We gonna keep with these crazy storms?
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: We're gonna what do you think?
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: I know that coming up Michigan, gone.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be gone.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: That flooding up there, it'd be wow, like it's gonna be gone.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Michigan gonna be wiped out entirely.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: So if you're up in Michigan, get out now while you while you can, you know.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's gonna be too late there.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: Wow, like I said, West Coast, they're gonna get hit.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: You know, they're gonna get hit with snow, probably two to three feet of snow, probably.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: You'll see that in Los Angeles.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: So you ain't you ain't good for the snow, you ain't got your skis or snowboats.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Don't get you know, drive over to Colorado, snacks them up.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know how it hits 50 out in California, they they panic and run for winter coats.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's gonna that's really gonna be a shock.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: They are trembling, but uh Jeff in Omaha, we're probably gonna see some Mediterranean climates.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: You know, it's gonna be the best time up there.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: And I mean, you guys are probably gonna have hoots of fun.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: You're gonna be jumping and skipping around, you know, you might have some nice water slides out in the the sidewalks, and your Halloween's gonna be nice and clear.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: And I don't see an ounce and ounce of snow coming in the winter.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's beautiful.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: So so Omaha, so it sounds like California is gonna become a problem, but Omaha is going to be the winter paradise, the place to go for a beautiful tropical experience.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: Pretty much.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be like the the Carigabeans that they have down there, those islands.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, pretty much gonna be like those.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm I'm in Chicago, and I was gonna be heading to Florida in the spring, you know, around uh well in the in three weeks, but I'm changing that right away now.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: I'm heading to to uh Omaha to Nebraska.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: That sounds I mean I need some warm weather here because I'm just sick of it.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Of course, you know, Jeff, you might want to see Florida while you can.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think Florida, I think Florida's gonna do a Michigan, right?
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's kind of Florida.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: Florida's gonna uh it's gonna be like a broken pencil, it's just gonna snap in half, and it's not gonna be due to the weather, it's just due to all the Florida Florida ions that are down there and the alligators.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: There's probably gonna be some sort of wood war down there, but just for Florida, it's sort of more like a state war, and the whole thing's just gonna be shimmy and then it's gonna snap, just just like my my hip bone on third grade, you know, third base.
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: Oh man, that boy in half, you know, it's how it be sometimes.
- 19:38SPEAKER_03: Wow, it's gonna go under.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: It's gonna it's just gonna sink off and done, done for.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Oh Jeff, you better come to Omaha then.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I'm coming.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: That sounds pretty coming.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: For the people listening, if you're in Florida, um you you guys can just stay there.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: You can stay there and you'll you'll be fine.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: They're not gonna be fine, but yeah, you guys will be fine.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Well, we don't want to panic anyone.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: Right, exactly.
- 20:01SPEAKER_03: But Michigan, you can get out there, yeah.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Michigan, go ahead and panic, right?
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm right, I'm right near Michigan.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: I'm like 50 miles from Michigan.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Should I kind of steer clear of that too?
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: Or nope, you're safe.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: Michigan, right around that border.
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: That border right there, just boom, sunk, just sunk.
- 20:21SPEAKER_03: Like that, just clapped.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: You're done.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And just and just think, Jeff, if I mean if Michigan becomes a lake, just think how great the water around Chicago is going to be.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: It'll be like an ocean.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: Well, they'll probably call it what?
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Lake Lake Michigan.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: They might call it Lake Michigan, just in memory of the state.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: I think that'd be a good name.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: Because now they call it that that water, they call it like face the water and you're going east, right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's that that'd be a better name.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that would be a better name.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Well, cool.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: So weather was really in your in your DNA, it sounds like so.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: You've really always done this, right?
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: Always, you know, when when I was when I was how how old was I?
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, I let's think now, oh maybe year and a half.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: I maybe had 14 teeth.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, I can't even count them now.
- 21:09SPEAKER_03: They're dropping out as you know, as we speak.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but when I was a year and a half with my 14 teethers, I remember walking outside and I felt a droplet of rain hit hit my cheeklet, hit my cheeklet, and I said, What was that?
- 21:24SPEAKER_03: Because I thought some bird or someone just shat my face, and I was about to, I was about to tussle.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: You know, I was I was ready.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: I was I was ready.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: But it turned out it's just rain from a gutter that came all the way down from Mississippi.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: And I said, What the shit nips is that?
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: I was pissed because I'm now I'm a fan of Mississippi because I don't want no what them missus sipping in my pee.
- 21:44SPEAKER_03: I don't want those Mississippi in my pea.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: I've never been there, but that's what I was told by my daddy that they got the missus sipping in their pee.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Well, and it hit your chiclet too.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: So and and I hate it when somebody you're just about to enjoy a tasty stick of gum.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: And and something happens.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Somebody you drop it or something, or rain falls on it.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: I hate that.
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: Well, that's where I knew.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: You know, that's where I knew that the weather, that's my thing.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: And of course, farming, that's my thing as well.
- 22:13SPEAKER_03: But you know, the weather is like a it's like a an 18th cent that I have, you know.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: It's it's something that just like rattles my bones.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: I I get it down.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: I get to work.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: You know, I I pay my bills.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: My bills are paid.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, I bet I bet this pays really well.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, I mean, it it depends on how you look at it, you know.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: But you know, I I I'm you know you get like dental if you only have like 14 teeth.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: I do have teeth.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: Is is that what you're asking?
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Or yeah, I was kinda well, I'm just wondering, like, you know, it's part of the benefits.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: It always seems like these weather people, weather I used to, you know, I grew up with weather men, not women, but now you know, I think that was one of the things that attracted me to you, John, is that you know, I mean, I think it takes a man to really know what the weather's gonna be like.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: I don't you know, I don't think women really, yeah, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: But uh I I don't really remember what my question was and what I was gonna ask you, but I just wanted to get that out.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Well, and and and you know, speaking of dental, you're you were asking about dental, and and I gotta think your dental your dental probably I gotta think your dental plan costs less because you have so few teeth, right?
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: I mean that is true.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: I okay, I do have uh we're talking about insurance now.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: That's a big word for me.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: I'd write it down.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so in insurance is that how you say it?
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: Insurance I think it starts to do.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Insurance, yeah, insurance.
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay, okay.
- 23:33SPEAKER_03: So insurance, dude.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: That's the that's that fun one.
- 23:37SPEAKER_03: Um with the yeah, the dental.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's I have I have a couple teifers, and so when I went into the octopologist, the the that that place with the the thingies, you know, they they told me they're like your insurance will cover all your teeth because you barely have any.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: And they said that I might as well get like denial or dancers, that's what it was.
- 24:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: They wanted me to get dancers or some random thing.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: I said, listen up, let me just I'll drink my lake water on my little pond, on my little lake I built myself that fills up.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: I I'll use that and draw my teeth back, my teeth grow back.
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: They told me I was some silly goose or something running around trying to catch dreams.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: And I told them, go cat go catch some lies, because that's all you're full of is lies.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: I'll drink my lake water and I fill up my teeth.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: I mean, let's be honest.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: And have and you and your teeth grew back, right?
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: They're they're they're working on it.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: You know, I could feel the pain, you know.
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: It's the growing pains that's really that I'm really focusing on, you know, they're growing.
- 24:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're they're there somewhere, you know.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that and that's so important just to just to bear down and just get through the pain because then you'll have a beautiful full mouth of teeth.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: Yep, yep.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: You know, benefits are crazy as a meteorologist, you know, it's good.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: Well, and speaking of body parts and weather, isn't that Steve and John, where you always hear about somebody who says, Oh, I can tell it's gonna rain because my bones ache.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, I got this like uh this thing with me where like my eyes dry up when I when I when it's gonna snow or whatever.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Anything like that with you with those teeth?
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Do they give you you know that are they part of the forecast that you that you make?
- 25:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, if if my if if if if it were to rain every time my bones would ache, it'd be raining 24 cent, let me tell you, right?
- 25:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think he's uh I think he's he's having a little difficulty there.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: He's spitting out another tooth.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: I think uh I think that chobaco has some teeth.
- 25:42SPEAKER_03: There there's a tooth, there's that's a tooth right there, right there.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, that is wow.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: It's at least most of a tooth.
- 25:50SPEAKER_03: I'll glue that one back in.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: I I have some gorilla glue I saved from earlier, but oh yeah, yeah, they they stick in there.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: No, but for me, it's kind of it's like in my earlobes, you know, it's my earlobes because you know they're they're flexible, but they don't move, right?
- 26:05SPEAKER_03: So, like what are they there for?
- 26:07SPEAKER_03: You know, it's a survival instinct.
- 26:09SPEAKER_03: Well, what I found out was for that they vibrate.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: I get a little alfalfa in me, and they vibrate.
- 26:14SPEAKER_03: It's it's quick, though.
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: It's quick, you can't really see it's like a hummingbird moving around.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: And that's what I know.
- 26:19SPEAKER_03: Like, oh, we may have something's coming in the winter months, you know, something's coming.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a September vibrate.
- 26:25SPEAKER_03: You know, I write that down.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: I write that down.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: All these all these sensations that I have, you gotta compile them into one, otherwise you'll you'll just be like a crazy man.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: You know, I ain't crazy, I ain't dumb.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: You know, I know what I say, and what I say when I say I say like damn.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: I don't need all got my ear, and I got other sis, and I'll be out there, I'll be like suit, and then I drink that.
- 26:44SPEAKER_03: I like my suit, you know.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: So that's what I say.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is oh of course you're not dumb.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: You are the farmer's almanac.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: I am, and you know, I I I know my words and I say my my nice words, I say them nice, okay.
- 26:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Well, you're the smartest, smartest weatherman we've interviewed, Steve.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Don't would you say out of all the ones that uh I tell you the show?
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: You know, you talk about those those weathermen we grew up with, you know.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: I I remember back years back, I I was having some drinks with a guy who did the weather on one of the stations.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Uh and you know, guy was an idiot.
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: Guy was an idiot.
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: Sounds like Bill Ramby or Rusty Lord.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, those two, what are they doing?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: You know, I think Rusty rings a bell.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: I I forgot his name, but you know, yeah, Rusty rings a bell.
- 27:30SPEAKER_03: He's a bald, he's a bald gypsy, he's running around.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Well, he had hair back when I saw him, but oh, he's a bald gypsy now.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I bet.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: I bet.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: I remember our our our favorite weatherman was I think Steve Tornado, which is he was he was he was wild.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he changed his name from Tornadacci too.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: I he just you know, come on, I hate that.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: Wait a minute.
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: Who's this who's this Steve Tornado dude we're talking about here?
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: Who's this filler?
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Well, Steve's tried, he did change his name.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: I think he was Mike Tornado originally.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: I think he changed it to Steve Tornado.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Mike Tornadacci, I think it was.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: I think there was some like other some other famous uh singer was uh Steve Tornado, I think.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Steve Tormade, I think.
- 28:16SPEAKER_03: Was he anything special or what what's this what's the story with him?
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: You know, back then all you really wanted to do was just tell what the temperature was, and uh and then you you you know, he would throw those darts on onto the the screen, you know, which would that would be like if it was gonna rain, he'd throw a dart and there would be a 50-50 chance that it was gonna rain right where that dart landed.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: And I remember that was his thing, and I always thought he was really smart, but you know, I I don't think uh he ended up being like the sports guy the next month later.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: And so I don't know.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Wasn't he the guy?
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: There was one guy when we were kids, right?
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: You know how they used to do they used to take like a little glass window outside.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: They used to actually go outdoors and do the weather outside the studio, you know?
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: And wasn't he the guy?
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: He was out there doing it, and it was it was a rainy, slushy night, you know, and and somebody came through, splashed him, splashed him all over him.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: Oh man, and then he predicted rain.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: They said, I think it's gonna be a wet day, yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_03: He was kind of a reactive guy.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, what does he just decide when it's gonna rain?
- 29:24SPEAKER_03: What does he got like some some weird sense where he can tell where rain's coming from?
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, let's be honest, that's a load of gym.
- 29:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, coming on him.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, yeah, and that's why that's why he's not around anymore, you know.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, there you go.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: That's why, that's why we've moved on into people like John the Farmer here.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: You know, I got my own thing.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: It ain't some weird sense thing, you know, it's my own thing.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Which yeah, I'm with you.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh, absolutely, absolutely.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: I look back now on that, and I just think that was like Neanderthal stuff, you know.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Now we've got you got this technology, John, that you know, just blows everybody away, you know.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: So I'm impressed.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all right.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: That is and that and and the science behind it too, I think is just is just is breathtaking.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean all this, all the machinery and all the the radar and the Doppler and all that stuff, you know.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: But but John doesn't need any of that.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: You know, John just goes out and he can tell you, he can tell you what the where not only what the weather's gonna be, he can tell you where the wind came from.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: Wow, that is true.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: How many people know that?
- 30:34SPEAKER_03: Probably nobody.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's probably only me.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: You know, it's like a gift from maybe Jesus himself.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: You know, he probably gave it to me when you know when I was a year and a half, you know, when I felt that raindrop on my cheat clip.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: And and you know, some say that Jesus was the original weatherman.
- 30:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, he probably I'm probably his great great grandson.
- 30:55SPEAKER_03: You know, I don't want to be you know updated or anything, but I do, you know, praise praise him, let's be honest.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, you know, and that that's just that's uh I think it just speaks well of your your uh skills and your lineage and your qualifications and your and your your expertise in this weather.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: I it's just really it's just amazing.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, I you know, most people think of weather as just something, oh well, yeah, if it rains or whatever, but but this is there's a real science to it, you know?
- 31:24SPEAKER_03: Yep, yep.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: It's you gotta feel it, you know.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: It's it's it's in the bones, but you know, for me, earlobes.
- 31:30SPEAKER_03: That's me.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: It's the earlobe, right?
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Well, and and the fact that it's the earlobe, I I bet you it's like the little hummingbird.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: I I bet you hear it really well.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: You hear it right away, don't you?
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: Right next to your ear.
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: I'm like Superman, but I hear it, but like I hear it, you know, like oh yeah, lightning strike, lightning strike, death valley.
- 31:51SPEAKER_03: Simple as that.

- 32:10SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you knew that.

- 32:30SPEAKER_01: I am so impressed.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: So you're from the future, that means you probably got a couple statues of me, you know, down in San Antonio or anything like that.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: Well, I you know, I I get to San Antonio occasionally, and uh that's actually one of the reasons I thought of bringing you on the show.

- 33:10SPEAKER_01: It's now they're not I think some of the later recipes aren't quite what you did.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: I bet yours is better now, but it's I mean I drink that all day, every day.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: It's still pretty good.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: But it's good, all right.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Well, I actually I I actually when I when I had a glass down in San Antonio, last time I was there is maybe 150 years from now, 200 years from now.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: When uh last time I was there, uh I actually put garlic in the peanut butter and jelly juice, you know, and it it just oh it just really brought out the peanut butter.
